...alright...that didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would...but then again it wasn't exactly a blockbuster event...next time I'll secure passage on a charter plane, HALO jump to an abandoned island with a laptop and satellite connection, fight the pirates that I'm sure inhabit the island, all in the hopes of not being bothered...I'll live of canned beans and seaweed, all for the simple fact of being active through the RP's entirety...

...thoughts, comments, unknowledgable prattle welcome...693 posts isn't too bad for my first foray into DM'ing...

Sorry I never got a chance to paticipate, I had other things on... but it looked interesting

Thanks for the great fun all! smile.gif

One, thanks for giving Arynel another chance to do whatever it is he does, and congratulations, your Bosmer made Arynel loose his temper, which hopefully doesn't happen very often.

The party wasn’t a party until I showed up... Nah, I’m joking. It was a great story, with great twists and turns. I loved picking on the mute girl, hitting on all the ladies, and kicking spotted owl... even if I was injured most of the time. And I made some new friends... I think?

Also, One don’t compare your RP to any other RP. You do you. I think it was very successful, whether it was your first try, or your twentieth. I’m ready for the next one. If your looking for shameless womanizing, one liners and brute strength, I’m your Ra Gada.

PS: I would have been with you guys the last night, but I came down with a bad case of... oh-crap-I-have-homework-to-do-and-school-is-tomorrow-itis.

Later.

Hey all,

Don't worry about how it went One; like Arrogant_Hero says, you do you, not anyone else
smile.gifWe all have our unique style of writing, which on the board translates into our unique style of Game Mastering. Technical details, sense of flow, keeping on top of everything ... those will come with time, so don't kick yourself over those either. Plus you did pretty darn well for a virgin GM, IMO biggrin.gif

The distractions were unfortunate I'll agree, but sometimes they're unavoidable; the best way to deal with them when they take you away from the RP is to simply have players who can keep things rolling, maybe even designate a co-GM ahead of time and cook up plot ideas with that person in case one of you can't be around.

Anyway, Blade is hirable for those who can meet her price, so you probably haven't seen the last of her. Whether she'll be workng for you, against you, or simply just happen to be there though ...

...well I did learn one thing from this fiasco...dont make an RP with to many levels...it tends to get hectic...anyways thanks for all the encouragement folks...I'll probably use the Arena next time...like sometime soon...maybe...it'll be far less chaotic than all the variable's needed to make the Tower work properly...and a special thanks to you Lor...it would have fallen to pieces without you...yeah...but look for Lord Gasbag's announcement sometime in the near future...there'll be Tsaesci...

You're welcome One, though again, don't get so down on yourself. You did a good job all things considered and none of us could have anticipated real life butting in like it did
smile.gif

An Arena-based RP would be a wonderful way to combine both lore and homage to fighting games - not to mention the original concept of the first Elder Scroll game too
smile.gif

I might even be able to justify Blade being in that, depending on how big the purse is; she's looking to recoup her losses anyway
wink.gifMaybe even have Harg and/or Samson show up too ...

Only suggestions right now are: Encourage people to treat each fight as a fight from a kung-fu movie or a fighting game, and have stuff on the sides for a change of pace. But leave the sweetrolls out; we've tortured Arynel enough with those - for now

...why thats friggin brilliance in its highest form...I never even considered all the different Arena groups from around Tamriel...actually I'd only read through that obscure text once maybe twice...alrighty...good thinking...maybe we can get various Forum Guilds to take part...I guess I owe you a drink now...

I missed out on the big finale'.
Shame...i was looking forward to using Reichi as a werewolf again.Oh well.
And the Arena sounds great.Far less confusion going on heh.And the charrs all have areas to go off to when the RP dies down or one of us needs to leave.

An Arena battle RP? ****ing sweet! Dur'el is always up for a fight. Bring on the victims...

Posted by: FireMaster Nov 3 2004, 04:21 PM

Don't think I even saw this RP event...whenever that was.

But it isnt that big a deal...had other things to do, and havent been on THAT often, and when I have been on havent had enough time to post anything meaningful

(save this and a post earlier in the TESIV threads about European vs Japanese blades)
