Reichi stretched and yawned, mumbling something asbout wondering how late it was.

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 04:25 AM

"The Falmer? If they are still alive, they have retreated into a fortress of wariness and xenophobia. And Reichi, perhaps you've heard of "pillaging?" Who is to say the remains of the Falmeri kingdom weren't utterly destroyed by the Nords? Why, they might even be buried under the ice of the centuries. Or perhaps, as others have suggested, they did not have the same view of civilization as us. If they do still exist, it is not as Rieklings. Answer me this question:
You are a mer, in a time when fanatical hatred of Nemer is the norm. Obviously, you are proud of your race to the extreme, and will not tolerate the dillution of it's blood. You are faced with extinction, but have the chance of bedding goblins to survive. Would you?"

Posted by: Loranna Oct 22 2004, 04:27 AM

Loranna-Azura sits down to listen to the discussion quietly, finding some comfort in watching mortals think.

Posted by: Aki Oct 22 2004, 04:30 AM

"Hmm...i'd prepare a proper tomb for myself first then go a fghtin'."Reichi said with a slight smirk."Pillaging....don't people generally take stuff during thqat?surely it would have goten spread around.A nord could have liked one of the elves's axes and took it no?Its rare some group of people goes and kills some other group and doesn't take their stuff."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 04:31 AM

"Perhaps all the Falmer things are now Nord things." Arynel conjectured.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 04:33 AM

Hakan shudders at the thought of bedding a Goblin, "While some odd people believe the Reiklings are the surviving Falmer...i once heard a tale...that the last Falmer ever to survive was buried in a tomb somewhere in a northern frozen land...a prince they called him...but never in my travels have i seen this 'tomb' "

Louis thought aloud, "Is it not also possible...the remaining Falmer travelled to some isolated land, or island, with all that remained of their civilization?"

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 04:34 AM

The door burst open and two gaurds, with Sekka in tow, walk through the door. The gaurds throws Sekka on the floor and one says "We have noticed a trend of...strange...things happening here, and this man, as we have discoverd, is...strange. We were hoping he belonged to someone here..." the other garurd adds, "if not, we will dispose of him ourselves..." Sekka screams "SOMEONE PLEASE, THEY ARE GONNA KILL MEEEE!"

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 04:36 AM

"Stay your tempers!" Hakan insists, "This man threatens no one...though odd he be...and we here know him to some extent..we'll take him in and make sure he doesn't cause trouble."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 04:36 AM

"Relax!" Arynel calls to Sekka, his voice edged with a calm spell. "What's wrong?"

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 04:39 AM

..."i didnt mean to do it, but i looked in her window...and the glass globe...it was so...beutifull..you idiot you broke it...yes she was very powerfull..you ran to the gaurds you twit...well at least she didnt kill m...us"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 04:41 AM

Arynel began to speak to Sekka, his words laced with magicka.

"Rest ye heart now, let go your pain. Rest ye soul now, no troubles to remain..."

He continues in like fashion.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 04:42 AM

Hakan chuckles, "No spell in the world could fix those multiple personalities i think...seems the Mad God got to that one as soon as he was born..."

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 04:44 AM

Sekka calms considerably and thanks Hakan and Arynel. "thank you very much..yes thank you...thank you...I thin you are...my friends...right...not like the other ones...the mean ones..."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 04:45 AM

Rilis approachs the guards.
"I do not know whether he is insane, possessed, or just very odd, but I, Prince Rilis Direnni, can attest to the fact that he has not caused harm to any. If you need proof that I am a Prince, see the rings on my fingers? See the crests on them?"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 04:45 AM

"Come and be merry, friend." Arynel said to Sekka. "Let us be joyful!"

The Breton turns to Rilis and smiles, but does not say anything.

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 04:49 AM

"Thank you very much..o..my..friends...I will remember you all forever"

The gaurds leave, apparently happy to have this madman off their hands.

Posted by: Aki Oct 22 2004, 04:50 AM

Reichi again shuffles off to bed.Tripping up the stairs several time.Enters his room and once again heads off to sleep.Hoping the tavern wouldn't fall apart while he slept.

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 04:51 AM

Rilis continues the discussion where it left off.
"Louis, I have often wondered whether the Falmer headed north to Altmora, although it's questionable whether it was depopulated enough for that to be a good idea. Also, would anyone care to discuss the Ayleids?"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 04:53 AM

"Ah, the wild elves." Arynel said after hearing Rilis speak. "There is a race I would like to know more about."

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 04:54 AM

"Hmm my uncle was an Ayleid, his name was Sehka Sil..dont listen to him, hes nuts"

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 04:58 AM

"I know little of the Wild Elves...i once read a few pages about them but it has now slipped from my memory," replied Louis, "i would be very interested in seeing one."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:00 AM

"If you ever see a Wild Elf be sure to tell me!" Arynel laughed.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:03 AM

Louis laughed as well, "I certainly will! I wonder whom they resemble...slightly off topic, Scamps alway appeared to me like Elves that had been severely deformed."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:05 AM

"I believe the wild elves look like something between an Altmer and a Bosmer, but I am only guessing." Arynel said. "I suppsoe that the Scamps do have a slight resemblence to the Mer. I have heard a story of a scamp who lives in a town in Morrowind and trades with the locales!"

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 05:06 AM

to Arynel "whoever told you that is definately insane...and they say I say crazy things..."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:08 AM

"It does sound crazy, I admit." Arynel says to Sekka. "But tis a good tale in any case."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 05:09 AM

Rilis felt the ring on his finger. Ivory and gold, shaped to look like a tower top.
Hmph. And they missed one of the maddest Ayleids of all.
"I have many questions regarding the Ayleids. Why could they not put down a simple slave rebellion that had the aid of some Nords? Were they confined to the White Gold Tower? Is it their blood that stains the Nibenese soil? Do they hate the Nemer, or at least the Cyrodiils?"

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 05:09 AM

To Arynel "I know many tales, ive lived many of them, but thats like suggesting the existance of a rich mudcrab, It just doesnt work"

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:10 AM

Hakan laughed, "Ha! i heard a tale once of a scamp selling Sujamma in Daedric ruins! What nonsense..."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:12 AM

"Yes, I too have heard the tale of the talking mudcrab." Arynel said to Sekka. "But I heard he was drunk!"

The Breton turned to Rilis. "I do not know enough about the wild elves to speak with any certainty."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 05:16 AM

Rilis chuckled.
"You said to tell you if one of us were to see an Ayleid. The old mer, who had the bad limp, who was covered with wrinkles."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:18 AM

After listening to Rilis speak, Arynel's eyes grew wide.

"What are you saying?" The Breton asked. "Have you seen an Ayleid ?"

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 05:19 AM

Rilis laughed harder.
"My mother."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:21 AM

Arynel laughs. "I would not have guessed Rilis."

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:24 AM

Hakan chuckles, "I bet some of the snootier Imperials and Altmer could learn something from the humble life of a Wild Elf. No offense to present company of course."

Posted by: One87xe Oct 22 2004, 05:25 AM

*...The Broken Sword Inn, Taneth, Hammerfell...it seemed like a glorious dream to One...being carried across sunny green fields, to the foot of a large statue of Azura...wherein the twilight brought a smile to his face...and a voice perhaps her voice saying: "Khajiit many peices for this one...many Khajiit seek him"...?...suddenly One realized that this was no field and that definitely wouln't be Azura's voice...with this strange development One felt that his strength had returned...the sickness whatever it had been was finally out of his system...with this he opens his eyes...*

"Ugghh....where am I? It smells like...like...

"Khajiit think you cheat Dagi...Khajiit no like cheats...Khajiit think you cheat"

"Hey...what the hell?..."

"Ahh...so this one speaks..."

*One's Shehai hand begins to glow...*

"I'll give you one chance to let me go...you might even walk away with your lives"

*This causes the Khajiit to start laughing hard...so hard they didn't even notice when he cut through the ropes binding his hands with a small fire spell...*

"Ok...your loss..."

*One frees himself quickly, then boots the Dagi across the room and retrieves his amulet from around his neck...the Cathay attempts to tackle him...but he finds One's foot has found his jaw...smiling One thinks to himself "That was far to easy" as he uses the Divine Intervention spell of his newly retrieved Amulet...he finds himself back in Ilesson Hills where he had set the Mark...Ami is no where to be seen...*

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:25 AM

"You obviously know little of the Ayleids." Arynel said to Hakan. "They are a very proud race."

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:34 AM

"Aye that is true," Hakan replied, "never have i seen one, never have i found text of them. Is it then this pride that keeps them away from other races?"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:37 AM

"Perhaps." Arynel said to Hakan. "It would make since, although I do not know if it is true. I am sure some have seen them, but most of them have kept silent."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 05:38 AM

"It is either a desire to lick their wounds until they can once again rule the White Gold Tower, their pride, a desire to live far from the world and practice the old ways, xenophobia or something else. But I tell you this: The ancient mer who came in a few days ago was an Ayleid, and he is quite possibly just as racist as Trinimac was."

Posted by: SEKKA Oct 22 2004, 05:38 AM

Sekka wanders back up into his room, where he notices the roof has fallen in a bit, probobly due to recent commotion, Sekka remarkes "Well we can watch the stars while I sleep.....It better not rain.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:43 AM

"It's unfortunate then he stayed only a short time," Louis remarked.

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:47 AM

"I doubt he would have said anything important." Arynel mused.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 05:49 AM

"Perhaps if he were 'persuaded' " Louis chuckled, "how many mind altering spells could he really resist?...Then again he could be the most magickally powerful mortal on all of Nirn!"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 05:57 AM

"Perhaps." Arynel laughed.

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 06:00 AM

"The mer? Attempting to take on a 4000-year old archsorcerer with mind altering spells is patently insane."

Loranna-Azura stirs, noting her beer has been sitting by her hand waiting for her to drink for some time.

She takes a sip and grimaces, muttering "Hmph; we must be on the lesser stuff now."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 06:02 AM

"We are discussing Ayleids." Arynel answered Loranna. "Seeing as we know very little, we seem to have sucumbed to subtle humor."

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:04 AM

Louis chuckles, "As i said...the most powerful mortal live...then again there are many sorcerers thousands of years old i suspect...and many brash young upstarts who think to challenge them, most of which will inevitably fall."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 06:07 AM

"Tis the way of the world, I think." Arynel said. "The Psijiics take it to a whole new level."

"Ah ..." Loranna-Azura says, sipping her beer again and sighing.

" ... All right then," she says with a small shrug, putting her beer aside. "Sorry to interupt; please continue."

... Must have gotten lost in my own thoughts, Loranna-Azura decides.

Allerleirauh had returned, without removing the leaf from her pocket. She needed to be careful of this new habit, invisibility: it was more addictive than strong drink. She removed the leaf now, appearing off to one side of the room.

"It's impossible to speak of the fall of the Ayleids without speaking of Alessia," she said. "There's the answer to the first question you asked."

Posted by: Glensather Oct 22 2004, 06:11 AM

I sit on the nearest stool and watch back and forth as they talk about the other kinds of Elves that existed. I of course, being raised in the middle of nowhere, know little about the other common races, but watching the tirade is amusing, to say the least.

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 06:16 AM

"All Alessia was was an ambitious slave. If Skyrim hadn't intervened, they would probably have been crushed. If the Ayleids weren't a buffer state of the Kingdom of Alinor, Alinor might have intervened, causing an actual war instead of a heinous massacre that could probably be called truthfully the greatest crime of the First Era."

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 06:19 AM

"The 'ambitious slave' held the love of two of the greatest heroes this world has ever known; and not through her beauty," Allerleirauh said. "It's lazy thinking to insult what you cannot defeat."

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:27 AM

"It would seem Allerleirauh is well versed in the history of Alessia," Louis remarked.

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 06:29 AM

Rilis glares at Allie.
"Oh, yes. Pelinal Whitestrake is as much of a hero as the fool who decided Saarthal should be sacked. But was he great? Certainly, although only in the sense that he had power. In addition to suggesting the Ayleids be butchered, he also killed hundreds of Khajiit on the simple assumption that they were mer. I don't want to start a barfight, so I'm not going to talk about Alessia, Pelinal, Morihaus, or Trinimac, because I hate every one of them."

Loranna-Azura gets a thoughtful look and begins to chuckle softly.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 06:30 AM

"I don't see that we need to fight," Allie said. "You are suggesting that the Night of Tears was a bad idea? That's big of you. Tell me, why do you hate Trinimac?"

I nearly choke on my flin. I'm no fan of a Slave Race, like the Khajit, but I don't condone killing them incessantly. I chalk this up to more Nordic barbarism. Granted, it was a long time ago, but even then...

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 06:35 AM

"Why? Because he's the biggest idiot I've ever heard of. I'm sure you know that Shezzar is the Cyrodiilic god of mannish endeavour. Basically, he's not widely worshipped because racism isn't really a part of the modern Cyrodiils. Trinimac is the same to the Altmer, except racism is still very much a part of the Altmer. Big whoop. You're Nordic. I'm 1/2 Ayleid and 1/2 Altmer. After we're done butchering each other over race, we can move on to hair color!"

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:35 AM

"Forgive me if i speak false," said Hakan, "but was not Trinimac the one who the outcast Aldmer followed and then became Orcs?"

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 06:36 AM

"Yes, something like that." Arynel answers Hakan.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 06:38 AM

"But..." and here Allie giggled, and choked on her drink, "Forgive me, Rilis, for I don't mean to start a fight... Trinimac is POO. You still worship him?"

Louis laughs, "Good Lady Allerleirauh, for someone who usually seems to speak with elegance, your last statement was rather the opposite"

Posted by: Glensather Oct 22 2004, 06:40 AM

Loranna-Azura says to Tharivor Oh, it's not the actual history being discussed right now that I'm listening to; it's the way in which you all are discussing it. It's wonderfully interesting to see how you all interact and converse ...

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 06:45 AM

"I was speaking of other mer, not you, my dear," Allie said. "You are half Ayleid; the folk near Dawnstar used to accuse my mother of being a Falmer... which she certainly was NOT. It's certain that folk everywhere fear and hate outsiders. But you see no practical differences between man and mer?"

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:49 AM

Hakan jumped in, "I see that all the races of man and mer have those who worship their gods...those who want to play hero..those who want to play villain..those who hide behind politics..and those who simply act foolish..."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 06:49 AM

"There are differences between a longsword and a claymore, but numerous similarities. Both kill people, both are bladed, both are weapons, etc. I have little care for certain traditions. The racism aspect is one of them, and the purity thing is another. The arrogance is also another."

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:51 AM

"Yet still," said Hakan, "both weapons, similar yet different, are quite deadly when weilding effectively. On the whole, Man and Mer are not entirely different...the larger variance is person to person...unlike the case of the longsword and claymore."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 06:53 AM

"Speaking of men and mer." Arynel conjectured. "I am neither, and both."

The Breton winked.

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 06:59 AM

Hakan laughed, "That would explain why you have one pointed ear and one rounded one," he said in a teasing way.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 06:59 AM

"The larger difference is in the heart, I would say," Allie said. "I adore Vehk and his black little Velothi heart. We both love Shor, or Lorkhan, as the case may be. Yet we are not sister and brother; not even cousins."

Posted by: Nelacar Oct 22 2004, 07:03 AM

"It may be the fact that I'm drunk, but I don't get your point."

Posted by: Arynel Oct 22 2004, 07:06 AM

Arynel eyes Hakan strangly. "My ears?"

The Breton reaches into his pocket and produces a pigeon, which flies towards the ceiling.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 07:07 AM

"What matters is why we are here," Allie said. "Are you here by accident, or as part of some horrible design? Is the world yours to grasp by the tail and swing, or does it stomp on you? Would you be free of it, or rejoicing within it, or surpass it altogether? Those are the questions that make us who we are. Form follows function, somewhat; as you see when you look at the skin of the Dunmer. But really the differences are deeper than skin; deeper than ears; deeper than the difference between 70 years and 700."

Loranna-Azura gets a thoughtful expression on her face, her thoughts drifting back to Lorkhan, though she finds herself getting distracted by the continuing conversation.

... Maybe I'm getting tired, she thinks, growing minorly frustrated at her inability to concentrate on her thoughts. Maybe some rest is in order ...

She closes her eyes and her expression beging to relax ...

... I'm sorry Lady, Loranna says quietly. I'll work harder to be a better vessel.

Azura frowns. You're doing fine, she says, now relax dear; you've been through a lot and need time to adjust to it all - not to mention get some respite from that annoying storm outside.

Mentioning the storm causes Loranna to wince, and physically Loranna-Azura shudders for a moment. ...

"Wise words indeed," said Hakan to Allerleirauh, "The true test of Man and Mer and Beast...is what their heart speaks to them, and if they remain true to themselves..and their heart. I would hope that any race on Nirn contains members capable of this...It is indeed capable for anyone, no matter their race...or whether they worship Daedra or Aedra...or if they are warlike or peaceful, they can still become comrades, colleagues, brothers-in-arms, or friends."

"I think Rilis's are the wisest words so far. Hakan, you mistake me. I mean there are real differences which sometimes cannot be resolved; and there can be no true peace. This is the Arena."

Louis thinking aloud, "Of course, there would never be need for war or conflict, if all problems could be resolved...no matter the size. Even the best of friends and family will run into conflict no matter how much they enjoy one another's company or how much they have in common. The violent history or this world speaks for itself the inability to resolve many conflicting opinions, but the fact that nations can be formed where the members of said nation don't constantly rebel breed anarchy say that there are many petty differences which can be put aside, based on each individual person and what the difference is. I have no love at all for slavery, yet i know many in Morrowind who either endorse, or are indifferent, yet we aren't driven into conflict...however Telvanni cringe at the sight of me, and would surely attempt to kill me if there were no consequences."

In Tel Mora i was harrassed by a few, shall we say...'irritated' guards that didn't like my being there...i tried to ignore them but they were quite insistant, i finally resorted the paralyzing them, by the time the spell wore off they barely had enough life in them to collapse and curse my name.."

To Azura, not to Loranna:

You haven't a heart of ash anymore, sister, you have a real human heart, and if I drank that sour milk of pity, it would be the girl I would pity, and destroy to end her suffering ... But you move amongst the earthbones now, creature of Mundus, and if you do not fear ... you are less wise now than ever ...

Posted by: NordRogue Oct 22 2004, 07:34 AM

"Please do not mistake my words," Louis said, "I don't intend to endorse a world in which all conflict was abolished, though i myself have no love of killing...although i sometimes must, either to protect myself or someone i care for, or to keep someone from causing greater harm in the future than they already have...I much prefer to sort things out without drawing my sword, but i fret not if my sword must be drawn, and i fully understand the need for conflict of many sorts in the world in which we live. Many good things have in fact come from conflict, though at times bloodshed was no a necessity."

Louis nodded to Allerleirauh, "Having known Hakan for so many years, i begin to understand well the Nord thirst for battle, and the fact that many often enjoy the fight and the fray, yet i also know such an adventurous life is not meant for all."

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 22 2004, 07:39 AM

"Louis, what I mean is there can be no heaven on earth... and to aspire to make one is to make an earth bland and tasteless, into which we sink and are suffocated. Be free, even if you must be wretched."

She winked at Arynel. "A man may see the Tower in a straw... to grasp it is another matter entirely."

Within Loranna, something stirs ...

I am still the Dusk and the Dawn, she replies. Do not think this is permanent ... the Thief thinks he can bind one of us to this world, make us mortal? I will take his strictures and from them regain my rightful place in Moonshadow, and show to all how utterly hollow he's always been.

The girl is just a vessel; a nice vessel but ultimately just that. And she is mine to do with as I please - and I please to use her as she is.

Physically, Loranna leans against the doorway; it's hard to notice over the din of conversation and the storm outside but her breathing is getting ragged ...

"I completely agree," replied Louis, "I believe one must do what they believe they should do...remaining true to themselves and who they are, instead of bending themselves to suit others, blindly and foolishly. This is simply what i do, and have always done. The actions i choose in my life are a direct reflection of the person i was, am, and will become as i grow old and crippled. Loranna, wether from her own strength or the help she is recieving, steadies herself and opens here eyes.

Her eyes are blue, but dead, without the usual signs of girlish fun or kindness normally found therein. Her facial expression resembles a marble bust more than either her girlish body language or Loranna-Azura's tigress mannerisms.

"Be not alarmed; everything is as it should be," she says, the corners of her mouth turning up slowly into a smile that never touches her eyes.

Loranna stops at the door and turns to meet Allie's gaze, her eyes being just what Allie would expect - and at Loranna's eyes meet Allie's, it feels for a brief second that Allie is engulfed in twilight ...

Bend in the Road

The figure of Loranna trudges wearily toward Allie, stopping about fifteen feet away; Allie can see her eyes are green again, and her expression, while not Loranna's girlish, kindly one, is at least not the marble expressionless one she wore a short while ago.

She stops, looks around, and closes her eyes, her brow furrowed; for the nonce, various prying eyes can not see this area.

" ... " Allie can't tell if Loranna-Azura is at a loss for words or simply is having trouble speaking; her mouth opens but nothing other than slightly ragged breathing comes out.

Finally, she says " ... Can't give you a reason ... all I can do is ask ... "

"You called me Heart of Ash," she continues. "My brother accused me of having a heart of flesh and blood. Neither of you is entirely right; I'm not mortal - but neither am I truly a Daedra in a vessel anymore. I'm somewhere in between; almost fitting for the goddess of the transitions between night and day, to be in an in between state ..."

She pauses. " ... I'm going to be lying to most everyone pretty soon; I honestly don't know what else to do right now and it's the only way I can see to keep us going until we're whole again. But I wanted one person to know the truth, other than Loranna and myself - you."

B rises before the sun and prepares to meet the day. He will be busy today. First he must meet with the Royal Court, and then the King has requested a private meeting. Later tonight is a feast.

They were nearly at the end of their journey. They had been sailing since morning, after an interesting, albeit wild, night in Sentinel. Harg had found some fellow Nords, and all Baxter could remember was waking up in a farm, with seven Nords, an empty crate of mead, several dancing girls, three fellow Imperials, a cow, and an angry farmer.

The Iliac was calm, a recent storm had passed, and all seemed well. They would arrive in Daggerfall shortly, then the quick ride to White Haven to find out what has happend since their departure.

QUOTE(BbaxterD @ Oct 22 2004, 11:58 AM)

They were nearly at the end of their journey.  They had been sailing since morning, after an interesting, albeit wild, night in Sentinel.  Harg had found some fellow Nords, and all Baxter could remember was waking up in a farm, with seven Nords, an empty crate of mead, several dancing girls, three fellow Imperials, a cow, and an angry farmer.

The Iliac was calm, a recent storm had passed, and all seemed well.  They would arrive in Daggerfall shortly, then the quick ride to White Haven to find out what has happend since their departure.

*

Sentinel

"And that is how the Fist of Harg added a deciededly Nordic twist to the old tale of Xyr," Harg rumbles to his audience, having recounted his 'legendary' acting job last Hearthfire. Those around who might not find the story funny - and given the amount of mead that had been imbibed that amounted mostly to the farmer and the cow - were too intimidated by the sight of Harg's shoulders and arms to not laugh along with the rest.

Harg grins, and wonders if Allerleirauh was having as fun a time as he was; knowing the chaos that surrounds the girl goddess he somewhat doubts it, and he resolves to give Allie a true Nordic dance before all is said and done to make it up to her.

Darius is busily pouring himself another drink, while Melanus and Elaine finish tidying the palce up - again.

Samson is wandering around, keeping an eye on things and wishing Harg were back.

Finally, they were in White Haven. Back in the tavern, yet it was in poor condition, missing some key figures of the night of Meridia's appearence. A quick talk with Darius reveals much of what happened. Another death. Next time, Baxter would invite a full contingent of Legionnaires to guard these meetings he mused. Grabbing a chair and some Cyrodillic brandy, Baxter sits down, pulls out his copy of the Biography of Barenziah, and begins to read.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 23 2004, 01:25 AM

Allerleirauh awoke in the loft over the stable. Her rented room over the tavern had struck her as structurally unsound; the loft, on the hand, was dry and solid and filled with the pleasant scent of fresh hay and clean horses.

Potions were better than sleep, she mused. In sleep, you dreamed. And she had dreamed of bankers in green waistcoats, little girls, and mocking laughter. She had something to tell Arynel - what was it? She raised herself on one elbow and tried to remember the dream.

The Tower. That was it.

"It can't be talked about here," she said, shaking her head. Such was the power of dreams, and their fatal flaw; in a dream you could speak other languages, acquire great insights which could never be translated into waking speech.

She stretched, hopped down from the loft, ignoring the ladder, and went to wash her face in the trough.

In the waning moments of dawn, Loranna is outside, eyes closed and in new clothes; during the wee hours of the night she had washed herself and changed, to set out and greet the dawn.

Unless someone comes to look for her though, she shows little signs of moving yet.

Harg, upon returning, amuses himself with regalling Samson with tales of the farmer's efforts to reclaim his cow. Samson's response proves eloquent.

" ... You're something else Harg, you know that?"

Melanus sighs and is useing telekenesis to clean up the debries almost before it finishes hitting the ground.

"Maybe I should move to the Black Marsh ..." Darius sighs. "There's not much that can break in a marsh, right? And Argonians don't listen to rumors much I hear ..."

Meanwhile, The Lord Darius Hole Repair Crew once again ply their talents in the name of deceny, and with the mighty Fist of Harg on hand to use for the purposes of shoring up patches (he being tall enough to only need to stand on a footstool instead of a table for the job), the most recent rent in the roof is quickly overridden and made whole once more.

Sadly, Harg's weight proves too much for the brave little footstool that he used for this repair, and with a loud crack it breaks, causing a small shaking of the rafters as Harg lands. Lord Darius mutter "Oh of all the ridiculous ...!" while Melanus proves that no force on Nirn can fatigue him when it comes to cleaning messes and staring witheringly at those who make them.

"You know, at this point I don't even think it's the doing of otherwolrdly beings," Samson says to Elaine as Harg watches Melauns fret about with amuesment. "I think it's just pure bad luck and the repressed desires of our guests to be wild and racous."

"The couple of bar brawls, magic thrown about, and of course Harg tromping around in full lead-lined steel armor doesn't help either," Elaine points out with a grin.

"Oh, I got him to stop wearing the practice armor on duty; he's wearing the silver-lined steel armor today," Samson says. "Much more stylish and a lot lighter too."

An armoured man of considerable build strode into the town, drawing looks of curiosity as there was no weapon to be seen upon him, despite his fully armoured visage. Those looks were swiftly returned by eyes unseen from behind his helm, and quickly broken by the original onlookers as they were suddenly overcome by a faint shudder of unpleasantness. The man removed his helmet, revealing him to be of nordic origin, a rough and stern looking face with no hair atop his head. He walked as quietly as one in plate armour could into the nearest tavern, and sat at the bar and awaited the bartender, looking around him, sliding shifty glances at the other patrons.

Elaine, Darius, and Samson all raise their eyebrows and feel their heartrates increase as she walks in. Melanus fixes the table and gives it a withering stare for good measure.

"Balfiera, I believe. I think I might have seen her a few years back. Speaking of islands, am I the only person who realizes there's an island in the Bay completely up for grabs?"

"Greetings, Solin," Allerleirauh said.

"If it's up for grabs, why not grab it, Rilis? Make it the first step of your new program for Direnni restoration or whatever's been on your father's mind lately."

"I had not heard such a thing." Arynel said.

The Breton took another drink.

"You better buy it before someone else does Rilis dear," Loranna says, her tone slightly mocking but her expression tiredly friendly.

" ... Sorry; that didn't quite come out right."

"An illustrious, well-connected group here in our little corner of High Rock," says Tynnea, impressed. "Now I'm wishing I had dressed more befitting the occasion ..."

She looks at the wine-spattered sleeve of her dress. "Or worn something red ... "

"And to you as well, Lady," Solin replies taking another sip.

Hakan stands up to stretch around a bit, trying not to laugh at Sekka...."An island for grabs you say? What is it like? I may have interest in it."

"
Islands are always nice," Lord Darius says, sipping a brandy.

Seeing Tynnea's dress, he walks over and says "Here my good lady; please accept a small compensation for your outfit." He offers a small bag of drakes, enough to buy two nice dresses actually.
