The
Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP Announcement: Ye Olde Merry
Taverne
Posted by: Loranna Oct 14 2004, 08:38 PM
Hi again everyone,
Since the Hearthfire Ball RP went so well, I've been thinking of trying another
RP; I've been talking about this particular idea for a bit now but I'm formally
announcing my intent to run ... another party!
Only, this time it will take place in a rented tavern house, so the vibe, while
still light-hearted, will be a touch less formal than last time.
---
The background: Lord Darius, the Imperial chap who threw the Tales and Tallows
Ball last Hearthfire, has re-evaluated his life after having a couple Daedra
Princes show up on his dance floor. With a newfound respect and admiration for
scholarly achievement - especially those achievements which help one survive
random acts of Daedra visitations - Darius has been setting himself up to be a
potential patron for the local intelligensia. He's followed some of the recent
scholarly discourses with great attention, and has decided to throw a small
party in honor of scholars, lore collectors, intellectuals, and smart people in
general.
He's also temporarily moved up to Iliac Bay to avoid all the attention he was
geting as 'The Guy Who Invited Sheogorath Into The Imperial City', otherwise
affectionately known as Pelagius the Second (and worse than the original).
Taking the advice of his lovely maidservant Elaine, he's gone for a quieter,
less formal celebration this time, relying on word of mouth more than formal
invitations. Melanus the manservant observed that holding a party to honor
scholars in a tavern seemed somewhat ... cognitively dissonant, but Darius pointed
out that their current quarters weren't really meant for holding parties - and
besides, Harg liked the idea.
---
The Important Stuff: Anyone who wishes to play is welcome to join in; if you
have a character from the previous Hearthfire RP, feel free to bring them back.
I'll even hand out Experience Points for surviving the last adventure, which
you can trade in for an adorable Plush Numidum at the door If you're bringing someone new, or weren't in Hearthfire and are
looking to join up, the character guidelines are simple:
* Any character type found in a TES game is allowable
* Character types not found in the TES games but hinted at in the Lore will be
judged on a case-by-case basis; send me a PM to describe the idea. The default
answer is "Neat Idea But Can't Let It In, Sorry ", but I will at least listen and try to give your idea a fair
hearing.
* Characters can be powerful if you wish, but remember that no one is God - not
even the one returning semi Daedra Prince (and on that note - NO, you can't
play a Daedra Prince. The last time we had more than one Daedra Princes show
up, children got run over by flaming carriages and historical treasures of the
Empire got tossed unceremoniusly into polluted rivers) Try to keep people
'balanced', as it were.
As for in game rules, those will also be simple:
* Have fun But don't ruin the fun for others.
* Don't force a result on someone else; if you are trying to cast a spell on or
snatch a tasty morsel from a rival, either state it as an attempted action, or
else PM the person and ask if you can do the action. Give a brief idea of what
you're hoping to achieve with the idea as well.
Example: I, as Loranna-Azura, decide I want to turn Nelacar's hair screaming
neon plad, in order to distract everyone while I dive under a table. I either
post "L/A furtively casts a spell on Nelacar, hoping to turn his hair an
ungodly color to blind the poor people in the room" or else PM Nelacar and
say "Hey, I've a funny idea I want to try; okay if I have L/A turn Nel's
hair plad in order to cause chaos? I wanna get some slapstick in the
scene," and hopefully get his permission.
* If action starts happening - action being loosely defined as 'Stuff other
than people talking or doing things one on one with each other', please give
anyone involved a chance to post their actions after you take yours. Depending
on how chaotic things are, I may try to institute a temporary posting order
just for that action scene, but hopefully that won't be necessary.
---
The Time This All Happens: That will depend on people's schedules but I'd like
to get this started up in the next couple of days. I myself am in EST zone, and
am free for most every day from about 5 PM on, with this Monday being a
possible late show. If people will be around this weekend, that'd be a great
time to run this; otherwise I'll start it up in the beginning of next week.
Until the actual RP starts, this thread can be used to intorduce new
characters, hint at possible plots and subplots you'd like to have your
character initiate, and just genrally set the mood. When things get started up,
if you can't make it one day and were part of a plot going on, please let me
know via PM so we can try to keep things going smoothly
... Phew; some day, I'll learn brevity ... anyway, thanks and have fun!

Ah, another RP. Here's my old character, copied straight from
the old Heartfire Ball thread. (I'll hopefully find the time to RP this time.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Name - Adanorcil
Race - Altmer
Class - Psijic
Age - 2182 years - or was it 2183?
Appearence - Tall as any Altmer, with dark eyes, distinctive facial features
(again as all Altmer), long silvery-grey hair and a short grey beard.
Bio - Hailing from the province of the Summerset Isles, Adanorcil joined the
Psijic Order on a -to Altmeri standards- very young age. Over the years, he
made a lot of advancement in the ranks of the Order, until he became one of the
assisants to Lore Master Celarus. He takes his duty for the Order very gravely,
but also sees no harm in looking at life in a more relaxed way and likes
resting out from his daily duties in a nice scenery with a glass of wine. Never
resting in one place for very long, he works as an agent for the Order
throughout Tamriel and has seen most parts of the continent. He's very good at
the noble Magic School of Mysticism, but has experience in both Alteration and
Destruction as well.

After the strange events of the Hearthfire Ball, I can't help but wonder what
might happen at Lord Darius's newest excapade. The sheer curiosity is doing
quite a number on my heart-strings. I most certainly hope I can attend.

You didn't skip it; I haven't given a specific location yet.
(pins up a map of the Daggerfall game world and throws a dart to determine
where the tavern is ...)
... Hmm; seems we're partying in ... a lake. Hrn; let's try this again ...
Give me a little bit and I'll come up with a more specific
location.

Class: Noble
Weap/Armor: Silver Rapier and ornate leather jerkin
Clothing: silk pants and shirt, leather shoes
Age: 35

he still is up in society and has decided to come down to the ball to meet with
his old Cyrodiil friends and allies(on a semi-business related job) to talk
with his old friends from teh ball, catch up on Imperial Politics and try to
get additional funds for High Rock's decaying government.

Name-- "Wierd" Mr. Vendelgeist
Race -- Nordic
Class -- Telvanni Sorcerer (Newly appointed)
Age -- 100 years (Uses magick to extend life; explains 'ecentricities')
Primary Skills:
Enchant
Mysticism
Conjuration
Longblade
Secondary skills:
*Dabbles in all other magickal disciplines, including alchemy
Unarmored
*sometimes wears a set of full adamantium armor, heavily enchanted with
'fortify medium armor' skill
Bio: Originally from Skyrim, Mr. Vendelgeist started out as most other Nordics
do, but studied magick illicitly under the tutilage of a (now deceased) friend,
who was a mages' guild initiate. Not being bound by any particular faction for
most of his career, Vendelgeist specializes in a number of arcane areas of
study, that most notworthy institutions shun heavily; but is not exactly a
necromancer by trade. Recently assasinated-- erm.. "Replaced" a
Telvanni counselor, in order to cement himself a living in his reclining years.
Specializes in the study and production of obscure and.....'unique'...
enchantments (a few of which he carries around with him). Has a fond affinity
for dwemeri relics, but often 'improperly' re-engineers them, in ways that
would make a real dwemer scream in agony. Due to his age, (and his reliance on
magick to extend his life unnaturally), Mr. Vendelgeist is more than just a
'little bit' excentric, and is sometimes confused with being a follower of
Sheogorath.....Sees nothing wrong with causing chaos and havok, so long as
"you have fun doing it."
Appearance: Appears to be in his late 50s, as this is when he started heavily
using magick to preserve his vitality. Has long red hair, and a scrubby beard.
Despite being Nordic, Vendelgeist is not particularly strong physically, and
HATES the cold.

Movyn Adrys
Race: Dunmer
Class: Sorcerer
Clothing: Exquisite dark-coloured robe.
Age: 307 (er... is that the Dunmer equivelent of 60? I forget)
Hair: shoulder-length grey hair.
Accessories: Dark mystic sigils across robe, silver staff, cuddly guar toy
Bio:
Movyn was a mainland councillor of House Telvanni, up until a regrettable
incident involving books of necromancy, Dunmer law, and the contents of his
tower storeroom led to the death of several of his colleagues and the
destruction of a remote little town in the West of Morrowind led to his being
forced to flee to Vvardenfell. His demeanour and clothing have since seen him
generally accepted as a noble (people set great store by appearance). He
appears warm and pleasant to most, but no-one's REALLY sure what he gets up to
when he goes home.

I'm not a particularly good RPer, unfortunately. I'll try my best.

Race:Dunmer
Class:Assasin
Age: 115
Apearance:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TK-123/Rechi.jpg
Bio:Reichi is a Assasin, and is pretty good at it.Unforunately he is very
unlucky...and most of his Assasination for the Morag tong only end up
accoplished because his clutzy-ness made the building collaspe on the target or
something.Along the way Reichi picked up Lycanthropy and has been trying to
fight it off to avoid becoming a mindless killing machine.Recently through the
heartfire ball he aquired a ring designed to prevent the nightly
transformations.Though he does remove it and transform occaisonally of his own
free will...
Usually because for a odd reason, his wolf side seems to be able to avoid his
bad luck much easier.Reichi has taken up studying lore to figure out a way to
either cure himself or at the least completely control himself when
transformed.
Items:His rag-tag armor and clothing, Ring to prevent transformation, a few
writs he has yet to execute and a Daedric Wakizashi...noticably chiped and
covered in dry blood.

Imperial Ex-Rogue
Gender: Male
Apparance: Dark haired, dark eyed, silver tongued. He now wears a plain brown
robe rather than his old silken finery. From his hip hangs a silver mace, the
touch of which calms and soothes men, yet burns lesser daedra, evil spirits and
other malevolent creatures with holy fire.
Bio: The touch of Azura at the Hearthfire Ball affected Darlantan deeply.
Though still a factor of the East Empire Company and a Knight of the
Let it be known also that the last entity that tried to steal his mind is now

As for a tavern, he still owns a nice little tavern in White Haven, complete

I'm going to try to puppeteer two characters For those of you who read or added to the Chancellor Telvanni
thread, the first will be familiar. I shall call him Hakan Ulfgard, most often
seen wearing pricey clothes, Orcish greaves and pauldrons, some 'snatched' Her
Hands gauntlets, Nordic Mail boots, and an Imperial cuirass. Always carries
with him a silver battleaxe he got from Solstheim and a run of the mill
Imperial Dragonscale Towershield. He hails from Skyrim, spent the early part of
his life as a rogue, getting whatever he could take a charming people with
shallow words...but over time developed a moral center, and headed to Morrowind
to explore, and also business opportunities...soon learned he could join the
Imperial Legion on Vvardenfell and jumped at the chance, and rose the ranks
quickly, becoming Knight of the Imperial Dragon. He also joined the Mage's
Guild for a scholarly experience, but chose not to rise above the rank of
Journeyman. Years he spent exploring that land looking to help wherever it was
needed, but now at 32, with half his life ahead of him, Spends most of his time
on Solstheim, watching the snowfall from his home, occasionally acting as an
unofficial make-shift diplomat between the Imperial companies/military and the
local Nords.
During his time in the Mage's Guild he met a good friend, Louis Corentin. Now
Louis was a breton from High Rock, at a young age he realized his powerful
talents in the ways of magick, and for 6 years wandered Tamriel, until
eventually coming to Vvardenfell where he met Hakan in the Caldera guild.
Unlike his friend however he was ambitious in persuing his magickal abilities
and did quite well in the Mage's Guild, even becoming an Arch-Mage, and unlike
many Mage's Guild members, he harbors no ill-will against the Telvanni. He
keeps only the robes on his back, the sword at his side, and the rings on his
fingers, and the magickal energies in his mind. Being kind and merciful,
despite his power, he only uses force when his life, or that of an innocent is
in great danger. 28 now, he wanders the regions looking for people to help, and
ways to expand his knowledge and mind.

This would be me not having played Daggerfall myself yet and having forgotten
to ask my source for all things Daggerfally if there was a nice big tavern in
that game that would be suitable. Mea Culpa
Right now I'm leaning towards having it be in the Daggerfall area/city itself,
though if I don't grab my friend to ask about a locale anytime soon, then
RavingRiddler's idea sounds pretty good. We can assume that Darius contacted
the people in question to rent the place.
If you have played Daggerfall and know of a really spiffy tavern from the game,
please hollar Right now my mind is awash with plot hooks for this RP and future

Balbar Gro'Turok is a young male orc who claims Thaumaturgy as
his trade and profession. He seems to be constantly looking over his shoulder
and often gives the first impression of being shy and reclusive. But he has a
gentle nature about him however that belies a sense of calm when amongst
likeminded people. His packs suggest that he travels from tavern to tavern and
sometimes plies the bardic trade. It is something he will deny however until he
has had a sufficient amount of flin to drink.

Hey ive never done anything like this before so i gues ill give
it a try, i might just observe for the beggining but maybe ill perk up later if
that side of my personality comes out. you will see what im talking about;)
~my character~
Name: Sekka The Silent/ Sekka the Slayer/ Sequa
Race: Half Dunmer(on his mothers side so he looks it) and half something
else...possibly Nord.
Class: depends...
Age: around 60 or so
Appearence: rather ugly Dunmer wearing a hodgepodge of fancy and common
clothes(in rather bad condition) a long cape, and large, dumb looking,
enchanted rings on all 10 of his fingers. also wearing clunky adamantium boots
full of dents.
bio - having had a VERY troubled childhood Sekka(Sequa) has become in his adult
life a rather blatantly skitzophrenic(sp?) Dark elf. Many of his problems stem
from having a rather insane Dunmer mother who told him many
"interesting" things(mostly about being related to guars, dreugh, and
cliffracers). throughout his childhood. his personalities work like this, he is
usually Sekka the Silent, an untrustable thief, sometimes (usually when neer
alcohol) Sekka the Slayer emerges, this personality shares many traits with
your basic Nord...Loud, annoying, passionate, and impulsive. Then on rare
occasions his "true" self comes out as Sequa, a gentleman who seems
to by high class and sophisticated.
...wow that was long

Looks like Monday right now; I myself will probably be getting on around ...
hmm 8PM EST Monday night, by my current reckoning.
The first night will probably be mostly getting everyone into the party; I
might even set up the topic before I leave in the morning just so that people
can get in and start talking among themselves while I'm doing real world stuff.
Then, when I get back, I'll jump in and bring on the dancing girls

Or, in other words ...
No major adult themes this time out Though don't let this restriction stop your characters from
attempting to find romance in the tavern
Now then, for me to do a little set up and mini solo-RP to set the mood ...
---
Lord Darius sipped a brandy as he looked over various important papers in the
warm, cheery quarters he had rented in Daggerfall. He was already beginning to
feel at home in the lands of the Bretons, and mused on the possibility of
moving out here on a more permanent basis. Wonderful place, Daggerfall, full of
life and history, and remarkably empty of people calling him Pelagius the
Second ...
Darius frowned slightly as he read on; his financial position was less secure
than he would have thought, given the recent events. Of course, his quiet
donations to the families of the slain children and his 'chariatable
contributions' to the Bureau of Public Works in return for not seeing him as an
accesory to the theft of the Crown of Kintyra had eaten into his savings a
touch as well, but even still ...
... I should be a little more aggresive in building on the family fortune,
Darius thinks to himself. Especially considering what I'm planning on doing
... hmm; well, there's bound to be sturdy adventurers again at this party.
Perhaps it's time to get more adventurous ...
---
Melanus finished his morning rounds with a sense of quiet satisfaction; the
quarters were immaculate as they should be, thanks again to his discerning eye
for detail and his stolid, dependable work ethic. Now, if only that Elaine
would stop fixing him with those thoughtful stares of hers, everything would be
as it should be; her piercing gaze was duecedly disturbing.
It was Dimitrius's fault really; the wretch had insisted on being less than
circumspect last Hearthfire, and tongues had wagged about how Melanus was heard
behind closed doors once or twice. Intolerable - and, after that whole mess
with Azura and the Mad One, not to be repeated at all. He had a newfound
respect for how good his life was even if his employer was a total lush and a
fool; he was, at least, a benign fool and generous in his own way. The fact
that said generosity was less momentary and more friendly and morally
supportive no longer mattered to Melanus; he was simply happy to have gotten
out of Tales and Tallows alive.
Yes; things were better now; Dimitrius was back in Cyrodiil doubtless working
on some other scheme, the Daedra Princes were off doing whatever someplace far
away from Darius and company ...
"Psst!" whispered a voice, which made Melanus freeze. "What's
the big idea, not keeping in contact with ye' old mates? Most unfriendly of you
..."
---
Thither and yon, nicely gone, goddess and girl carry on, make a cake and let
it rise, what truth in your madness lies, two who are really one realize, raise
a glass and drink deep, your mother and father ought to weep - a shattered
glass doth a goddess keep?
Blue and green, always mixing; why worry about fixing something caught in
dancing twixting ...
" 'Twixting'? Is that even a word?" Samson, Redguard and warrior,
asked, looking at the entirely too-cheerful and giggly Loranna - or was it
Loranna-Azura? He couldn't make out her eyes the way her head was bobbing about
- and his giant mountain of a companion.
Harg gave a one-armed shrug; he didn't want to upset Loranna's somewhat
precarious perch upon his massive back and shoulders. "The Fist of Harg
thinks that a woman of this stature has every right to create new words if that
suits her intention," he said.
"HA! See?" Loranna-Azura said in a giggly-yet-haughty tone.
"Question not my diction or I shall eat your soul; I can do that you know.
Really simple actually; all I need to do is ..."
"I'm sure it's very simple and I beg Her Lady's most abject
forgiveness," Samson said hurriedly, as another group of people pointedly
did not notice the spectacle of one Nord woman merrily riding piggyback on a
giant of a Nord man, while accompanied by a Redguard - all while the Nord man
was lugging an anvil around in one hand like a carrying case. "Anyway,
Harg ..."
"Call not my Rock Em Sock Em Giant Golem Mount by that name! I told you I
christened it FuzzyDice!" Loranna said, her tone just girlish enough that
Samson was semi confident it was the girl and not the goddess speaking.
"Now hurry; we need to toss the Giant Magibomb at the Imperial City before
stomping Vivec!"
"The city or the man-god?" Harg asked with a merry twinkle in his
eye; Samson wondered how Harg could deal so casually with being treated as he
was.
"The two-toned pantless freak," Loranna-Azura said regally. "He
must pay for his crimes of doing nasty things to me after I did nasty things to
him. No takesy-backsies you know; totally against the rules. We shall stomp him
and make him wear the Exquisite Pants Of The Lapin, and thus ruin his ages-long
quest for power, enlightenement, and being nasty to me! WHEE!!!"
" ... The scary thing is, I'm not entirely sure if she's spouting total
nonsense right now," Samson muttered. "... Er, Harg, maybe we should
take her to a healer ... you know ..."
"The Fist of Harg wants to drop off his portable armorers tools
first," Harg says, hefting the anvil. "The temples are on the way to
Lord Darius's current quarters. Besides, The Fist of Harg is sure the goddess
is merely having a bit of sport."
Loranna suddenly scooted up and bent herself over so that she was looking
directly in Harg's face, her long blond hair reaching down to his legs.
"No; I'm mad right now," she says gently, "Something happened
recently and it made Sheogorath very, very angry and he lashed out at everyone
nearby; I was nearby at the time. It would be very impolite to just brush His
touch off and might make Him even angrier, so my Lady and I are accepting His
touch for a bit ..."
Harg stopped short, though not fast enough to avoid knocking over several
people unable to get out of his way in time. "Er, The Fist of Harg thinks
he understands, but feels that one should not so casually throw away one's
wits, even if it is in the name of placating a blood relative ..."
"Harg's got a point, llittle mis ... er, Lady," Samson said, trying
to be as reaosnable as he could. "I mean, it's nice and all but is giving
yourself over to the Mad One really going to solve anything ..."
Loranna twisted with supple grace to take Samson's face in her hands and stare
into his eyes.
"I already gave myself partially to Him when I took my Lady in," she
says quietly. " ... You know, you kind of look like Vivec; you both have
the same bald look ..."
Samson blinked. " ...Um, actually, lots of people are bald ..." he
said nervously, as Loranna's sad expression melted into Loranna-Azura's angry
one ...
"FuzzyDice, I command you to smash!" Loranna-Azura cried, boking
Samson repeatedly on the head with her fist. "Crush this wretched thief
who stole my honor and my identity!"
"Ow! Ow ... stop that ..." Samson complained, turning beat red.
"Ha! The Fist of Harg is impressed but feels his fellow countrygirl is not
using her fists correctly," Harg grinned. "However, the girl goddess
is not yet ready to learn the True Secrets of the Fist, so the Fist of Harg
must wait to show you punching."
"How lucky for me," Samson grumbled. "Sigh; if my uncle ever
heard about this he'd disown me ..."

Mr. Vendelgeist awoke from bed with his heart pounding. The
nightmare he had just experienced, made him look at the shipment of broken
animunculi across the hall with a deepening feeling of unpleasantness, and the
bizzare purple pants and the thin, whispy whickwheat straw in each of his hands
did little more, but cause momentary terror in a way that no mortal was really
ment to experience. The poor scenile old wizard's eyes crossed, and fell
backwards onto the bed as he fainted.
He awoke a few minutes later, feeling much much older from the experience...
CERTAIN he had a few more grey hairs that no ammount of magicka could correct.
Finding the two accursed items once more apon awakening, he jumped out of bed,
and searched under it vigillantly; removing a small empty chest, which he
quickly stuffed the offensive items into, before locking it with the most
powerful lock spell his racing mind could muster, then kicked it under the bed
in haste.
Leaning on the bedpost, trying to get his heart back out of his throat, he
heard a knocking on his chamber door.
"GO away!" he shrieked, in a less than empowering tone, but the raspy
kajitti voice from the other side persisted: "Masster, There is a letter
for you from one 'lord Darius'...." Irritated, (and undressed) the
sorcerer turned to scowl at the still locked and closed entryway. "Slip it
under the door, Ra'vir."
Momentarily, the note slid under the door. The socerer took little notice, and
began dressing himself from his armoire, and examing his razzled appearance in
the mirror, in an attempt to recover his stately fascade.
"I am a councellor of great house Telvanni." He told himself firmly
in the mirror. While talking to yourself is sometimes considered an act of
madness, when confronting your fears, you must understand that they come from
deep within yourself, and the only way to conquor them, is to conquor yourself.
The assertion of reality helped a bit, and his dark brooding appearance
returned, if still somewhat shaken. Turning to the door, he knelt down, and
retrieved the package.
The envelope read:
"Lord Darious, Patron of Academic Scholarships and Acheivments-- TO Lord
Vendelgeist, tower of Tel Ulvirith, Vvardenfell district"
"Academic Achievments?...." Wierd wonderd to himself, pondering what
this fool who wrote him this letter could possibly be inquiring about---
Pushing that thought aside, he tore open the letter using the small tanto he
kept concealed in his robes.
"Dear Mr. Vendelgiest, It is my pleasure and privilage to offer you this
invitation to a meeting of minds at a tavern in HighRock. The address of which
is listed on the back of this invitation. The topic of discussion is academic ,
and scholarly achievments of all sorts, and being one of the foremost theorists
on magickal aparatii, and the adaptation and study of Dwemer artifacts, your
presense at the meeting would be greatly appreciated.
While you may not have heard of my Fund for Scholastic and Academic Scholarships,
my instituition is willing to pay a sum of 10,000 drakes to the owner of the
most impressive intellect, and keenest of mind.
While this sum is small, and rather paultry, Let me assure you that future
meetings and competitions will have suitably larger monetary awards; for the
continued study of the material and magickal arts.
We look forward to seeing you there, and hope to see some of your latest
magickal acheivments.
Yours truely, Lord Darious."
At first the notion of being invited to such a paultry meeting seemed absurd,
but turning back around, and spotting the now heavily glowing chest under his
bed, (he could swear he heard the shuffling of some animal come from inside...)
He decided that a vacation from his new home was INDEED in order.....

Meditating in a plain cell tucked away in a monastery of
Julianos, Darlantans thoughts turned to Azura.
Just then there was a knock at the chamber door.
"Come in"
A young monk entered the small cell. "I have a letter for you"
"Hand it over then"
The young acolyte revealed a gilt-edged letter from the folds of his robe, and
placed it on the ground beside Darlantan.
He shuffled out.
Darlantan picked up the letter.
"Lord Darius, Patron of Academic Scholarships and Acheivments-- TO
Darlantan, Wherever be he found"
Darlantan smiled. The messenger was obviously rather resourceful. He opended
the letter.
"Dear Sir Darlantan, Factor, Knight of the Garland, Primate etc., It is
my pleasure and privilage to offer you this invitation to a meeting of minds at
a tavern in HighRock. The address of which is listed on the back of this
invitation. The topic of discussion is academic , and scholarly achievments of
all sorts, and being one of the foremost theorists on temporal theory and other
strange and outlandish studies your presense at the meeting would be greatly
appreciated.
While you may not have heard of my Fund for Scholastic and Academic
Scholarships, my instituition is willing to pay a sum of 10,000 drakes to the
owner of the most impressive intellect, and keenest of mind.

We look forward to seeing you there, and hope to see some of your latest
magickal acheivments.
Yours truly, Lord Darius."
Darlantan did not need the money. He had a steady source of income coming from
the ebony mines of Raven Rock, which was expanding rapidly, but he was an
almoner at heart. Alms for the poor! Alms for the poor!
10,000 drakes was a lot of alms.

Hakan Ulfgard: Hakan was wandering around the middle of
Solstheim, not looking for anything in particular, simply to enjoy the scenery.
It was a bright day with a light snow, very cold actually but quite mild to the
standards of a Nord. Seeing a fallen tree stump, he sat down beside it and
looked up at the clouds, not knowing when he ever planned on getting up. A
guard from Fort Frostmoth spotted him and called out. "What's he doing all
the way out here?" Hakan thought "Hunting reavers i suppose...".
The Guard walked up and spoke "Sir Knight, it was very difficult to find
you, i have a message for you..the shipmaster at the dock delivered today a
messenger, he sailed here from Morrowind. He said he had a very important
delivery for you, yet too frightened was he to enter the wilderness here and
find you, though he said it must be delivered immediately." "Aye, but
did he say who it was from?" answered Hakan. "No sir, he did
not." Reading the message, Hakan saw it was from one Lord Darius.
Apparently holding a party in Daggerfall for the scholarly. "Looks like i've
been invited to a party, for my work in diplomacy, metallurgy, and combat
tactics" said Hakan to the guard "it's happening soon so i must be on
my way..but first, i'll head to Thirsk...oh and one more thing...make sure you
and the others at the fort don't offend the locals while i'm gone, the legions
may serve under me, but these people are my friends, and to me, my friends come
first. You leave them alone, they leave you alone, understand me?". The
guard replied "Very good, sir"
Louis Corentin: Louis was in Ald-Ruhn, after having collected various books
from around Morrowind on all the colleges of magick. It took him several months
to complete his collection, he now had a full library of them, which he
diligently studied in the Mage's Guild of Ald-Ruhn, and having discussions on
the subjects with other members. He had was looking for ways to further enhance
his mastery of Mysticism, but more so, was intrigued with the art of summoning
entities from Oblivion, this he was also good at, but felt he needed more
learning in it, as he felt with other magicks. No trivial spellcaster was he,
but he felt there was no limit to his learning of them, especially at his young
age. He enjoyed playing tricks on his colleagues by telekinetically levitating
whatever they were looking at, and making them invisible as he drew the object
to his hand. He also found fun doing this to his colleagues themselves,
rotating them upside down and such, with no physical harm intended of course.
The guild guide teleported someone to the room, obviously someone who was not a
member of the guild, not even a mage in fact. "I have something for
you" said she. "Is that a fact?" replied Louis. "Yes sir,
it is, a note from Lord Darius, the note itself comes from High Rock,
Daggerfall to be clear." "Interesting, let me see it."
"Here you are," replied the Imperial women, well dressed yet
seemingly not of the Imperial upper classes. Louis read it and thought to
himself "A party? For scholars in all fields? Interesting indeed, perhaps
i will attend...it being in High Rock is even more reason to go...it's been
very long..." He spoke aloud now "My friends i bid you farewell, i
have a party to attend...though i don't believe i'll be gone for too
long."

Reichi stumbled as he caught his foot in a treet root.He could
hear the clanging of the hunter's armor. They were close. He pushed himself to
his feet and drew his Wakizashi.
Maybe i should handle this? Reichi's wolf-side said.
No...i can handle this... Reichi replied.
Fine...if we get killed...its your fault
The first hunter apeared out of the gloom of night in the woods, into the
clearing Reichi occupied. His silver and steel armor glinting in the light of
the full moon.A spear constructed of silver readied.Reichi reached into his
pack, and tossed a book at the charging warrior. The warrior, not expecting a book
to be thrown at him stopped in surpise before the book On Lycanthropy
slammed into his face, and knokced him to the ground.Reichi ran over to the
down hunter and sunk his Wakizashi's blade into his throat, and then continued
his run.The clanging could still be heard.
Two hunters jumped out in front of him, armed with nordic silver longblades and
charged at him.Reichi waited till they were within striking distance and swung
with all his might.
And completely missed.Instead the blade cut through a dead tree. The tree
fell on the hunters as they realized what had happened and tried to run.
"YES!I won!"Reichi exclaimed , thrusting his hands into the air, of
course with the wakizashi in his hand, he accidently cut a rather large, heavy
low hanging tree branch.Which smashed into his head.
As Reichi blacked out, he could have swore he heard "I told you so."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several days later, in a shrine to Stendarr somewhere in High rock, Reichi
awoke in a bed with a splitting headache.
"Ahh...so your finally awake?"Asked a breton woman dressed in
robes."We found you out in the woods, with several other dead people in
armor. You've been asleep for three days now from that nasty blow to the head ,
i assume it came from that treebranch we found on your head....care to tell us
how that happened?"
"Um...i can't rember too clearly...the injury may have mussed up my memory
of the event...They were prolly just bandits....and the tree branch was weak or
something."Reichi said, hoping the priestess wouldn't had seen that both
the tree and branch were cut, not broken.
"Can you rember anything..like your name?" Priestess asked with a
concerned look on her face.
"Yes...its Reichi by the way...."Reichi said, now getting out of the
bed.
"Reichi?Theres a messenger here who had said he was looking for a
Reichi."
Reichi gave her a surprised look."What?"
"A messenger...downstairs..he heard we had a injured Dunmer Male and
demanded to know your name..."
Reichi walked past the priestess and downstairs to the central part of the
shrine.A imperial clad in a torn and muddy clothing saw him and walked over and
asked if he was Reichi Sari.Reichi nodded and the Imperial handed him a letter
and then turned about and walked out of the shrine.Reichi read the letter and
grinned.
"Cool..another party..."he said to himself, and stumbled out of the
shrine.
Several hours later Reichi was on his way by Horse, toward Daggerfall.
Hopefully this time..he wouldn't end up eating the horse.

*Erenius enterred his office as usual and proceeded to do his
usual paperwork when someone enterred the room*
"Yes?" Erenius says as he looks up from his work.
"A 'Lord Darius' of Cyrodiil wants you to attend some function at a tavern
in the province. The messenger said little beyond that, but he said that was
all you'd need." the aid said.
"That is all I do need. Due to this turn of events, I suppose I'll be
taking a week's break starting tomorrow morn." Erenius continues as he
looks back to his papers, continuing his work.

Hmm... this is pretty cool, Loranna. Since i can still join,
this is my character:
Name: Tharivor Vehkem
Race: Dunmer (?)
Class: Scout Savant
Age: 240 (?) --> Records show a Tharivor Vehkhem born on the first day of
Tiber Septim's reign...
Major Skills: Light Armor/Alteration/Sneak/Security/Mysticism
Minor Skills: Marksman/Short Blade/Restoration/Illusion/Enchant
Weapon/Spell: Black Blade of Disaster (Daedric Wakisashi he inherited) / Quick
Getaway (1/day: 100% Blind, 100 Burden, Absorb Fatigue 100, Absorb Health 50)
Appearance: Average Dunmer height and weight, with swept-back and naturall
spiked hair. A name written in Daedric is tattooed to his face and neck:
"Saint Azura"
Bio: Tharivor Vehkem was raised unlike many of his brethren Dunmer: Born in Hla
Oad as an unwanted child - his mother was raped by a Telvanni Sorcerer - he was
raised by the community as a whole: The Commona Tong - who had just taken
control of the shanty town - gave him an education and was illegally taught how
to pick locks until his mentor was killed for teaching out-of-class. When he
grew older, the town's hunters taught him how to use a Bow and Crossbow, and
how to wear light armor effectively. The Hlaalu guards stationed there taught
him how to fight with a short blade, and how to kill Nix-Hounds and bandits
with those weapons. He even inherited some of his father's magical prowess, and
used his magic to help the town. When he came of age, he left the town and
attempted to make its residents proud.
At least, that's what he remembers, and what he tells people. However, there
are a few mysteries even he cannot solve about himself, and mysteries people
elsewhere cannot solve. For example, the two bony, skinless "wings"
on his back serve no purpse, and no one knows why they're there. "Saint
Azura" was tattooed onto his face when he was born, and it has grown with
him. Lastly, he has received the nickname "Midnight Blue", for the
fact that unlike most Dunmer, his eyes are a deep shade of blue...

In the middle of the Grazelands, Solom walked out of his home
which he lived in most of his childhood. He walked up the ditch which the house
was in. He sat up on hill, resting drinking some mazte. Solom looked back dow
to his Master's Gigantic tree-house, it was a old tree neary old as the Second
Era, it had long wild branches that went every where, like hair in the morning.
Solom looked at the small window where his Master's room was and even though
they were yards apart Solom could feel each other gaze at each other, then they
both nodded.
"Goodbye......Monaa"
With that said he moved on.
A whole world ahead of me now. Solom looked into his loot bag which he
filled it with some health potions, a coulple of scrolls, ash yams, loaf of
bread, and as a reward for finishing his apprinticeship; his master's ring. Guess
I should rest at Tel Vos first. Solom pulled out a levitaiting scroll out
and read the letters aloud. His whole body began to left in the motionless air
and by no time he was a good 10 feet in the air. Solom was a little wiggiley at
first but got to control his bpdy in the air and moved his body fowrard north.
There were pack of guars feeding on the plant life and wild bull netch. Solom
looked ahead only to found two cliff racers coming his way.
"Oh know!"
Solom quickly casted a fireball at them to distract them then quickly pulled
out a divine interviton scroll and casted it. He teleported to Tel Vos. There
were a few comoners looking at Solom. He dusted off his robe.
"Excuse me" he said in an embarrassing voice. That was close. He
walked down the street looking for a Inn.
There was a Altmer who greeted him
"Are you looking for a room?"
"Yes, One room please"
"That'll be 50 drakes"
Solom handed the clerk a puoch of 50 drakes. Then took his key. He had a small
room only a fairly big bed and a small table witn some ale and a plate on it.
He poured some ale into a cup and dranked it, then at some ash yams. 12
years...12 years I have been living with Master Monaa, *sigh* I've learned alot
...Master. Solom woke up with a yawn and strecthed out of bed. He gave his
key back to the clerk and went to a bar. When he walked in there were a few
tables in there at one corner there were two Dunmer talking about something.
"What would you like?"
"A cup of mazte please"
He over heard the two Dunmer talking...
"So Adira have you heard that Lord Darius is throwing out a party for
honored schorals in a tavern in Daggerfall"
Sounds like fun. Solom searched through his bag again. He remebered
Master Monaa giving him an paper with something written on it.
Hahahaha, that old kook, of course he was an honored schorlar of Daggerfall,
he came up of a cure for a disease that might have killed the whole province of
High Rock, this could get me started. Solom griped the invintation paper
for the party. Guess I'll have to travel over seas....

This is just a heads-up for everybody--- My cable provider's
internet connection has been systematically goofing up at and around 8:00pm CST
to about 11:00pm CST. It has been doing so for the past 2 days, and I suspect
it will do so again tomorrow evening, and probably Monday evening also.
So, if the RolePlay is going very heavy at that time, and I seem to just vanish
into thin air, that is what happened. Just play it off that my character is
old, scenile, and fell asleep while talking.

Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 17 2004, 08:11 AM
In the common room of a tavern in Daggerfall, Allerleirauh
reviewed the invitation again. She wasn't familiar with the town it mentioned;
she would have to ask someone for directions. Why was she going to this affair
again? Oh yes; to make fun of the Whirling School. She smiled. Arynel would be
there, surely, since he had recently been awarded a fellowship. She looked
forward to seeing him again.
She had traveled, this time, farther than usual. Even the light here seemed of
a different quality than the light she was used to. It had been the better part
of twenty years since the last time she was in High Rock.
She had heard rumors of someone recovering the crown of Kintyra. Allie herself
had tried to recover it; she had stood on the banks of the Nibenay, staring
into the murky water that flowed past the Imperial City... and then she had
walked away, shaking her head at herself. No way was she going in that water.
Not even with a thousand potions to protect herself from disease. She still felt
responsible for the crown, however, and she suspected that if she encountered
Attrebus, he would hold her responsible as well. Perhaps she could purchase
it... with the right coin.
As for Azura... Loranna. She had heard rumors of her too. The unfortunate dress
she had created for Loranna had gone into the trash, there to be salvaged,
ripped apart, and sold to witches and daedra worshippers of the Imperial
province wanting a token of the goddess on earth. Allerleirauh had not been
entirely upset that urgent business had taken her away from Tamriel altogether.
It had given her a break from the mess that she knew would be waiting for her
on her return.
She paid her tab, gathered her baggage, and looked around for a guide.
Posted by: Loranna Oct 17 2004, 08:19 AM
Allerleirauh's timing proves to be rather impressive, for a
tall, familiar figure is currently walking into the tavern, with another
familiar figure draped on his back ...
"Forward FuzzyDice; we must collect the All Fur before stomping
Cyrodiil!" Loranna-Azura's regal, haughty voice proclaims - with a giggle.
"The Fist of Harg repeats, as mighty as he is he is unable to cause such
devestation unaided," Harg says with remarkable good humor. "He also
sees that your sought-after companion is here, just as you predicted, and asks
that you cease denting his cuirass with your lovely yet mighty legs, as you
ended up throwing all his armorer hammers at a passing eagle."
"Those weren't hammers; they were enchanted bolts from your
MagiCannons," Loranna-Azura insists, spotting Allerleirauh and laughing.
"Ah, there she is! Hop on in; we're going to stomp cities underfoot. It's
all the rage nowadays."
The one person who thinks of objecting to the two Nords taking up the doorway
takes an unexpected nap as Harg glowers at him. "Friend Allerleirauh, the
Fist of Harg is pleased to see you again and asks for a moment of your
time."
Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 17 2004, 08:24 AM
"Oh great winds of Kyne," Allerleirauh whispered under
her breath. "What have we here?"
She stood up, looked Loranna up and down, and was unable to tell if she was
serious or playing a game. "Harg, my dear, I think you have more than
enough weight on your shoulders... are you on your way to Darius'
reception?"
Posted by: Loranna Oct 17 2004, 08:29 AM
Harg grins. "It seems the Fist of Harg has been asked to
personally escort you," he says, "or at least to deliver your young
student to your care. As for getting her off of the Fist of Harg's shoulders
..."
He looks down and taps Loranna's ankle. "As befits a true daughter of the
homeland, she has great strength; the Fist of Harg is somewaht worried that to
force her off now will cause inadvertant harm. Perhaps you know of a way
..."
Loranna giggles. "Well if we're going to ride on your back instead of
inside like we ought to do, can you blame us for hanging on tight?"
Allerleirauh can make out Loranna's eyes to be blue-green at this point.
Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 17 2004, 08:35 AM
Blue-green... lovely... but also disturbing. Allie didn't want
to speculate. Student? Was Harg calling Loranna her student? Allie blew
her breath out and tried not to look alarmed.
"Perhaps we could hire horses?" she said. "That was my
plan."
She tried to catch Harg's eyes, to get an inkling of what was going on here.
She had a million questions, but no comfortable way to put them. I had
strange dreams, of a giant god, of madness, of vampires... and those, of my
dreams, were the least strange...
Posted by: Loranna Oct 17 2004, 08:44 AM
Harg looks relatively as informed as Allerleirauh - that is, not
all that much.
Loranna sighs and shakes her head. "Silly Harg; my Lady and I told you
what happened ... oh, okay." She moves her legs and drops down to the
floor, saying "There isn't all that much madness left in me right now
anyway, other than the bit that was there from the start that you all
noticed."
Harg checks his armor, which does look slightly dented; Loranna, her eyes now
totally blue, looks at Allerleirauh and says "Let's get moving; when we're
safely traveling I'll try to summarize what happened."
She pauses a second, then adds " ... And welcome back; my Lady and I both
missed you."
Posted by: Allerleirauh Oct 17 2004, 08:48 AM
Allerleirauh bowed deeply, in acknowledgement of the compliment.
On the subject of madness, she kept her thoughts to herself.

Darlantan checked over his equipment for the last time. His coin
pouch, half empty, hung at his waist along with blessed mace, ready to deal
with any bandits along the way. He could feel his chain armour beneath his
plain robe. His pack contained his healing herbs, his pestle and mortar, a few
old books, a few battered scrolls, another robe, a couple of empty vials, his
notes, spare paper, a quill, some ink and the invitation. Strapped over the top
of it was a magnificent white shield. He was still wearing his Stendarran belt
and Maran amulet. He was all set.
He reached into his pack and pulled out the bag of herbs. Reaching inside, he
withdrew a dried hackle-lo leaf to chew while he walked. He was a little short.
Nevermind, he'd pick some herbs on the way.
Darlantan took a deep breath. All set. Time to go.
Posted by: Adanorcil Oct 17 2004, 02:14 PM
Time to get things started then.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Master Adanorcil!", the Breton boy yelled, while entering the
beautiful rose garden in the shadow of Nicrythe Tower.
-"Yes, young man, how can I help you?", Adanorcil said calmly.
-"I have this letter for you. Someone at the harbor told me to bring it to
you. I've ran all the way from the coast to here!"
-"Yes, here's something for your work.", Adanorcil replied, handing
the boy a nice amount of coins. "You can keep it, even though I can see
you've been lying about the distance."
-"Thank you, sir." The boy ran off, blushing lightly.
Adanorcil opened the wax-sealed envelope.
My dear friend Adanorcil
I'm sorry you couldn't attend to my ball last Hearthfire. Well, you haven't
missed much really, the ball went a bit out of control due to certain
"influences".
To make up for this small catastrophe -I am not overreacting here.- I have
decided to hold another, rather modest party. You will find the adress included
in this envelope.
It will be a good opportunity to discuss your various theories with other
scholars. To date, you are the only representative of the Psijic Order that
will be present.
I hope you will find the time to come and I look forward to meeting you again.
Yours sincerely,
Darius Practus
"The question is whether I want to go, Darius.", Adanorcil said to
himself. "After all, the reputation of Pelagius II has even reached
Artaeum. That must count for something."
...
"I guess I will be taking care of the rose gardens the next few weeks
again, isn't it?", Berathil, a younger Psijic, said to Adanorcil.
-"Yes, Berathil, that's your responsability for now. It's not the worst
job of them all. It's peaceful work actually, I wish it had been my only duty
within the Order. Nothing like the hectical world of Tamriel. Oh, I must be
leaving now, my ship has arrived."
Without further ado, Adanorcil walked down the dock to his ship that would
bring him to Alinor. And then further, to the calm waters of the Iliac Bay.

Pouring over his recent enchantments, and internally, feeling
more than just a little UN-enchanted himself, Mr Vendelgiest noticed that his
man-servant, Ra'vir, was having difficulty loading the packages he had bundled
together for the trip, and was shivering heavily; despite the warm air of the
upper tower.
"Ra'vir, You havent gotten into the sugar AGAIN have you?"
"No mastarrr, Rra'virr does no such thing..." But the sudden
convulsive shivvers of skooma withdrawl were made quite apparent after the
sentence. The old wizard transfixed a baleful expression upon his manservant.
"You know Ra'vir, The moonsugar in the alchemical suppy chest is
expensive, and is meant for magickal uses only, right?"
"Yes, Mastarr..." With another glare from his master, Ra'vir slumped
his shoulders, and hid his face, but the shivers persisted. The old wizard's
glare going just a tiny bit soft.
"You know Ra'vir, I have been suspecting that you have been sneeking from
my alchemy supply cabinet, ever since I started work on my latest invention...."
Ravir looked up. Digging about in his robes, Vendelgiest produced a rather
large, swirled lollypop.
"I made this after a rather peculiar dream I had...." Said the
sorcerer. "It has some of the moonsugar in it," he continued
"But just enough to get you over your shakes. Its primary ingredient is a
POWERFUL willpower potion, and refined marshmerrow sugars. I want you to take
one, whenever you suffer the aches and cravings, OK?"
Ra'vir tilted his furry head in curiosity.
"Just take it..." said vendelgiest.
Ra'vir took the lollypop, and struggled to put in his mouth. and almost
immediately the shakes ended, as the active ingredients in the thing started
working.
"Better?"
Ra'vir nodded.
"Good, then help me finish packing."
Ra'vir complied, and wondered where his master kept the surplus lollypops-- as
it was never his master's way to just make 'one' of anything..... When it was
time to pack the enchantments from his master's bedroom, he spied the heavily
locked, and glowing chest beneath the bed. Picking it up, and shaking it, he
heard something rattle about inside, and thus, assuming it was the lollypop
stash, secretly packed it for the trip........

Darlantan surveyed the tavern. The patrons eyed him
suspiciously. The barman spoke up.
"We're closing."
"So early?" enquired Darlantan, "I think not"
Darlantan hated to do this, but he was damned if he was going to spend the
night on the streets.
Pretending to scratch himslef, he subtly took some moon sugar from his pocket,
and discreetly dropped it on the table. He walked over to the barman.
"Do you know who I am?" he asked the barman.
"You are a stranger," was the reply "and a poor one by the look
of it"
"My name is Sir Darlantan, of the Order of the Garland, Primate, Factor of
the East Empire holdings in Solstheim."
"Sure you are," said the bartender, "and I am Queen
Barenziah"
Darlantan sighed. "I didn't want to do this," he said "but
you've forced me"
He pointed to the moon sugar on the table. "Do you know what the town
guard would do if they found that?" He asked pleasantly.
The bartenders eyes widened in fear. He knew what they'd do.
"Do you want them to know? Just nod."
The bartender shook his head.
"Then I'll have a room for the night. The best. This should cover it"
Darlantan placed a ring inset with a lump of ebony about the size of a large
marble.
The bartender eyed it greedily. "Y-y-yes milord," he said.
"I-I-I'll show you the way."
Pocketing the ring, the bartender lead Darlantan up the stairs.

Solom got on the ship, they would have to travel up the coldest
parts of Skyrim, then dock at the capital-Winterhold. They were selling some
stuff in the 2nd floor which was used mostly as an entertainment room.
"Get weapons!, get some fine steel weapons over here!"
Solom examined a steel dager he might need it for future use.
"How much is that dager?"
"Oh, we have a new costumer.." The merchant was a Bosmer but like all
bosmer he was two feet shorter than most people, so Solom had to bent his knees
to barter with him "...this dager, hmm I'll sell it for 70 drakes.."
"All right sounds good" Solom gave him the drakes, then maked sure
the weapon was in good condition. Don't wanna waste all my gold to get this
repaired. He sheathed the dager back into the sheath, then placed it around
his belt. He bagan to exploe the gigantic ship it was fairly a ship made for
traveling long distances. He went back up on the ship and felt the cool breeze
go through his long mowhawk. Solom rested on the rail guards and read over the
invintation again.

You did teach me a lot. They were docking at Solstheim to get some

'A room please' the wanderer asked
The inkeeper looked her from head to toe, as her snow white robe glistened in
the candlelight, (little did he know that it had an enchantment to forever keep
it clean on it... a gift from her Daedric master), and agreed for 5 drakes per
night she could stay at the inn. Smiling, the girl ordered a goblet of water,
as the disgruntled bartender went away to the toilet to fetch her water. She
looked around the tavern, finding it rather empty, only a few dirty customers
talking about the current events.
'Did you here a wealthy Imperial is holding a Party somewhere around 'ere?' A
large Nord fellow said
'Yeah, those foolish Imperials don't know how to spend thier money. No wonder
thier empire is going down the toilet' his Breton companion repled, laughing
hystericly, as the bartender returned with a goblet of water. The wanderer
preformed a small spell on the water and slowly drank the now clean water. She
reached into her satchel, and removed a loaf of bread, chewing on it, and
listened to the conversation going on...
''Have you heard of a Darius?' the Breton asked
'Did he not have somthing to do with a party that went bad a few months ago?'
the Nord replied
'He's the one hosting it...'
The Nords face went ghostly white, 'Umm, when is this party starting?'
'Two days from now...' the breton replied, with some curiosity in his voice
'Umm... I have to head home... umm I remembered I, er have to visit my... um
cousin in Skyrim'
'But your cousin died over ten years ago...'
'his wife, yeah I need to see his wife... umm... see you around,' the Nord said
running out of the room. The breton shruged and continued drinking his mead.
So, a party was going on, the wanderer said to herself, how interesting. She
finished her bread, and wandered up to her room
Posted by: RavingRiddler Oct 17 2004, 07:56 PM
Darlantan awoke with a start. Someone was in his room.
A floorboard creaked. Darlantan could hear a muffled oath.
He could see a dark shape hunched over his pack.
Darlantan leapt from the bed, flinging himself at the man. He couldn't reach
his mace, but he'd trained long enough to be formidable unarmed. Before the
shape could react, hetwisted and slammed his foot into its stomach.
The shape reeled. Regaining its senses, it drew a knife from its belt, and took
a step forward. In the moonlight Darlantan could see a small and wiry man. The
man smiled, and charged.
He was obviously not a very good knifefighter.
His first slash missed Darlantan completely. Then the man raised his blade and
stabbed downwards, seeking to pierce Darlantans ribs.
Darlantan had no intention of letting him. He caught the mans arm and twisted.
The man began to fall and Darlantan smashed him across the face with an elbow.
The man crumpled to the floor. Darlantan waited in silence.
The door opened a fraction of an inch. A voice whispered "Hurry up!"
Darlantan recognised the voice. It was the bartender.
Two minutes later the door opened a crack again. "What's taking so
long?"
The bartender crept into the room. Darlantan lit the lanterm.
"You have some explaining to do"

A chase is occuring on the coast of Black Marsh. A man, clothed
in black, with a long strait sword strapped to his back is running, spears and
arrows flying past him. A small ship with five rowers are just over 400 feet
away, rowing furiously to avoid the coming onslaught. Several Argonians appear,
hard on the heels of the man in black. Fortunately, several caltrops slow them
enough to allow for a quick escape. On the row boat,
"Master Baxter, did you find it?"
"No, it's not here, perhaps deeper into Black Marsh. I think it was a
trap, we shouldn't trust our informant any more. If they had caught me, the
Empire would have a very serious problem, possibly worse than Pelagius the
Second."
"Well, I suppose we should we look for a new informant, but the provisions
on our ship are running short, I suggest we sail for the Topal bay, then up
towards Rimmen."
The row boat approaches a rather suspect looking ship with black sails.
"Tell the Captain we sail for Rimmen, I'll be below deck."
A day later in Rimmen, a knock on the door to Baxter's cabin.
"Sir, a letter for you."
"A letter? How did it arrive here? Odd. Ahhh, it is from Darius.
Excellent. Inform the Captain we sail for the Iliac Bay, and send this report
to Cyrodil, perhaps this meeting will help us in our aims."

fun to see what escapades people have their characters go through prior to

That's a very detailed description ya got there....
--------------------
Movyn sat back in his wooden, slightly uncomfortable chair on the balcony of
his temporary residence in Dagon Fel and tried to think.
He couldn't go back to the mainland, he knew that. His colleagues had shown an
unusual amount of caution about his little hobbies, especially for Telvanni.
They hadn't had the conviction or - he smiled mirthlessly - the courage to
follow him out here, but it was too dangerous to return to his old home. A
pity...
A movement from his home... his residence... jerked him out of his narration.
He turned and went inside quite cheerily. He had little to fear from any
resident of this dull, forsaken little town, and any thief was a welcome test
subject for his latest experiment.
He looked into the Bosmer's face as he stepped off the bottom of the stairs.
The thief started and began to run, but it was too late, too late...
Movyn nodded. Everywhere he went, the bodies just piled up... why Sorkvild had
complained of the LACK of them, he'd never understand....
at any rate, it was time he moved on. The boatmaster had been offering
transport to Skyrim for an obscene fare.
"Yes." he thought. "Morrowind is far too... uptight about
Necromancy. Perhaps in Winterhold I can ply my trade easier, and with less
interference."
He gave a nod and a smile to the Nordic woman outside who seemed to have taken
to him. Just because you tangle with the barriers between life and death
doesn't mean you have to be a violent and disagreeable person.

Red Lion grew up in Skyrim living with his parents, who earned
their living with farming. Upon starting his own life at the age of 16 he
became apprentice to several people, all of them rather simple folks. He
developed some mediocre skills in Alchemy and Magic. After discovering the
adventurous part of his being, he moved to Vvardenfell. Mostly strolling
through the lands, freelancing, looting caves, working for several guilds,
learning the way of the different races living in the different regions, he
trained his skill to fight with a long-sword. Having spent some time in the
villages and cities in Vvardenfell he finally decided to move to a small hut,
out in the nature, close to the fields and woods he loved so much.
Receiving notice of his parents’ death some months ago he realized that he
nearly had no knowledge at all about history, tradition and lore of the region,
in which he grew up, and even more distressing, of the region he was living in.
The large chest in the cellar kept some books he gathered during his adventures
and quests. The lock was rusty and an attempt to pick the lock with his used
Journeyman’s equipment failed, but the wooden top did not resist the humidity
likewise, so a few hits with a stone did the job. Browsing through the books he
could not think of any reason why he had not used them to make some fire last
winter. What good could a book do, that tried to explain the alphabet using
drawings but containing only the first three letters and why did he keep three
copies of “Special Flora of Tamriel?
Three weeks later he went to Balmora, he definitely needed a new pestle, the
old one was showed traces of the last two years of usage and being there he
took the chance and bought a new expensive shirt.
Leaving the clothes shop upcoming clouds announced a thunderstorm. He was not
keen on making his way back to his hut soaking wet, so he went to the
Eight-Plates. Hurrying through the door he collided with a huge person which
won the duel of two moving masses. Laying on the ground he heard the other
person swearing: “Damn it, those young bungs…”. Recognizing the voice he
removed his hand from his sword’s hilt. Could it be…it has to be him…! Upon
directly addressing his former teacher of sword-fighting the disgruntled look
on Freld Krollbeard’s face gave way to an astound expression: “Freld, is this
really you? It must be about six years since we last met!”
Freld: “Reddy?”
Red Lion: “Hey, I’m 24 by now, just stick to Red!”
Together they went back in to celebrate the unexpected meeting with some
drinks. Exchanging news and stories from the last years Red Lion mentioned the
death of his parents and his new task to educate himself in history and lore.
Freld looked as if suddenly something came to his mind but because of the Mazte
he could not exactly remember what it was.
Freld: “Well,… wait a second… stupid Mazte… now, right, this is it! A few days
ago on a visit to Tel Vos I overheard some folks talking about a meeting of
scholars, high educated folks… if I could just remember where that meeting was
to take place… but I think the guy running the thing was called Darius…Darius
Praxus or something like that.”
Red Lion made some inquiries and found out how to contact Lord Darius. He hired
an express messenger to deliver the following letter:
Honored Lord Darius,
By good fortune I took notice of your upcoming meeting of scholars. I recently
turned to a new goal, namely studying the history, traditions and lore of
Morrowind and Skyrim. Although I certainly cannot compare to the highly
educated and honorable guests you have invited I could not miss such a chance
and hereby kindly request your permission to attend your meeting. You'll find a
short description of my person attached.
Best regards,
Red Lion

OOC: Hi, my name is Robin, I've been reading this board for some weeks now,
starting with Loranna's great stories about Alanya & Co. Finally realizing
the old board had been closed I found the new board and had some great days
reading the Hearthfire Ball RP. Although I've never done RPing before I really
got addicted to the idea of taking part in a RP. And I got really excited when
I read that there was another RP set up by Loranna
There are two issues though:
1. My English is a bit rusty, especially creating the proper atmosphere and
using the proper vocabulary that fits into Morrowind takes me some time. I'll
try my very best though Please contact me if I make mistakes (Language or RPing in
general!)
2. Timezones. I think most action takes place between 5 PM and 3 AM EST, and if
I did not miscalculate I'm located at EST-6h (GMT +1h, EST = GMT-5h --> -6h)
so here the fun takes place between 11PM and 9AM, which is when I need to take
some sleep as I'm a student. Anyway, I'll try to take part as much as possible,
but it may happen that I vanish quite frequently
I hope this one is as much fun for everyone as reading the Hearthfire Ball was
to me.

I too will say, welcome to the forums and RPs, Meridia!
Hakan Ulfgard: Casting Divine Intervention to get back to Fort Frostmoth
without wasting time, and already clad in his armor, shield in hand and nordic
silver battleaxe hanging from his belt, he walked towards the dock carrying a
large crate. He saw another boat just getting ready to leave, and someone with
a mohawk, that for some reason, stood out strangely, but he couldn't figure out
why. "Trade with Solstheim increases all the time," he thought.
"Hmm, High Rock...i've never been there, i won't know my way around...but
i know who might..." Hakan then rushed to the Argonian at the dock, a nice
fellow but ever complaining of the weather, and paid him for a sail to
Vvardenfell.
Louis Corentin: Filling a sack with a few Restore Magicka potions, and settling
his Daedric Katana is its scabbard, he was ready to head off to Daggerfall,
when a large man casually walked into the door, a large crate hiding his face,
where the long brown hair and trimmed beard would have made it obvious who the
man was. He dropped the crate on the ground, "Ah! i've found you,"
said Hakan in a loud voice. Louis almost laughed, "My friend, i'm glad to
see you, but i have a bit of an urgent meeting to attend."
"Aye...aye...the same is true of me, i am to attend a party in Daggerfall,
from one Lord Darius, odd that he would invite me, i know little of him"
replied Hakan. Louis laughed shortly, "Can you be serious? This is the
same party i am leaving to go to!" "Haha! Good! The gods and fates do
indeed work mysteriously...besides, i was hoping to use you as a guide, i've
never been!" Louis pat his friend on the back, "Then come, let us
embark on this journey together, i trust you have everything you need?" "Aye,
i do indeed," said Hakan.
Walking out of the Mage's Guild door, they were shouted at by a trio of Dunmer.
"Hey Nord! We don't like seeing your type in our lands!" they
shouted. Hakan replied, "Is that so? Mind you it's been a long time since
our peoples have been at war, there are many Nords in Morrowind now..and there
may be many Dunmer in Skyrim if not for the cold, which you seem to hate. I
have no quarrel with you, hassle a Nord who has actually done you harm!"
Hakan usually got along well enough with Dunmer, even befriending some, but
there are always people of all races who won't forget the past. "My
friends, we were just leaving, let us go in peace" said Louid. "Stay
out of this Breton! This mead guzzling Nord scum won't leave Ald-Ruhn
alive!" The nearby guards overheard but were clearly too amused at the
sight to intervene. Hakan set his crate on the ground and put his hand on his
axe, ready to draw it if need be. At this, the 3 Dunmer charged him, Louis cast
a Calm spell on one, and he walked away as if he didn't know where he was.
Hakan held up his heavy double bladed axe, and took a wide yet carefully aimed
swing at one of the elves, decapitating him flawlessly. The other Dunmer tried
to pounce on Hakan from behind, but turning quickly rammed the protruding point
of his shield through the Dunmer's shoulder. The Dunmer staggered back but was
clearly more enraged. Hakan, being rather civilized usually, became severely
angered, a sort of feeling he always reaches in the heat of battle...both
enraged, yet enjoying the sport. You could almost see a fire in his eyes if
such a thing were possible. He dropped his axe and grabbed the Dunmer, pulling
him straight up off his knees, and threw him into the Mage's Guild door,
breaking it in, the elf then fell unconcious. Securing his axe back on his
belt, he tossed a few pouches from his crate, into the doorway, "Each
pouch has about a 1000 drakes each...use it to fix the door and take the
remainder for yourself." The Breton mage inside cheerfully accepted the
offer. Louis gave a slight glare at Hakan, "i liked my way better..."
"To each his own my friend," Said Hakan picking up the crate again,
"perhaps now we will be able to set off!" He gave a hardy laugh.
Louis laughed slightly and they began walking.

Seems this RP has a fair number of newcomers *greets and
welcomes Robin*
Posted by: Loranna Oct 18 2004, 12:19 AM
Hi again everyone,
Welcome to all the new people I haven't already said hi to yet
Time zones can indeed be a problem; I wish I could pull us all into one time
zone for the game but my powers of reality manipulation haven't been upgraded
recently and my GM says I'm 25 EXP short to boot Sadly, that's gonna take about 25 more full-blown campaigns to
earn, so scratch that for a while. Hopefully, there will be enough people from
various time zones that everyone will have someone to RP with, and on a similar
note, if you have to leave, make a small post that puts your character in a
private room or outside or someplace so we know they're AFK
In other news, there is a little confusion regarding the location of White
Haven; when I looked at a map of the Iliac Bay region I didn't see any White
Haven, so I assumed it was some random High Rock town and figured it was vaguely
around Daggerfall. I have since learned that there is an actual established
White Haven, way up in the North and West - far more north and west for what I
had in mind.
So, ahh ... for the purposes of the RPs I run, High Rock now had
TWO White Haven towns, one way up in the morth and one down by Iliac Bay, in
the general vicinity of Daggerfall. As one can guess, the inhabitants of both
White Havens strenuously insist that theirs is the first White Haven and each
town has a small knightly order dedicated to staking their claim on the name of
White Haven, and every few years they get together and have a big to do to
prove who's better. We will be set in the southern White Haven, which as all
the locals will tell you is so named for the glorious white rooftops that were
instituted by the founding fathers of the town and by the lovely white
feathered owls that grace the woodlands bordering the town, unlike that OTHER
White Haven which is so called because they get so much snow the town is a
refuge for cold and ice - it's practically Skyrim, I tell you
I apologize for any confusion this causes the players and gleefully look
forward to preying on the confusion it causes the characters - but we can
assume that Darius had the sense to mention it was the southern White Haven,
not the northern White Haven. If any of you object, you must first defeat my
Skeleton Champion Araes in single combat
<- is a skeleton champion, really

Officially, tomorrow
I have to head out for most of tomorrow on real life matters, however, so I
will probably post the introductary post later tonoight or early tomorrow
morning, so that early risers and people halfway across the world can at least
get in and start RPing among themselves. If I do put the thread up before I
head out, all I ask is that no one do anything drastic and setting-changing
until I get back.

Thanks for the welcome and greetings to everyone else. I hope
the amount of first-timers doesn't interfere with the game flow
Will there be an IRC-channel or sth. similar during the RP to communicate and
to arrange actions or subplots or is this done via PM or ICQ/AIM (if at all)?

Define drastic, please. Like, would robbing jewellers in the
middle of the night be drastic?
EDIT: An IRC channel would help greatly.

Drastic in this case would be things like setting fire to the tavern, bringing
the wrath of the local guards down on the place, trying to steal the place
totally blind, or summoning a Daedra Prince to show up - or even one of the
lesser Daedra Sub Bosses from Battlespire
I myself have both AIM and mIRC chat programs, and for the last RP we
established a ChatSpike/mIRC chennel for just that sort of thing. People who can't
join the channel for whatever reason are limited mostly to using PMs,
unfortunately. I shall make an IRC channel called #Loranna_RP, which we can use
for the duration of the event.
(EDIT: Just created the channel, and will keep it open for as long as I'm up
tonight)

Darn, Meridia can't use those those things due to the fact she
is on a Uni computer... darn. But anyway, thanks everyone for the welcome,
might flesh out the character a bit...
White Haven... that was her next location. She looked in her gold pouch, and
found but fifteen gold pieces. She remembered that conversation in that tavern
last night, a Imperial with it seemed too much money was having a party. She smiled,
perhaps she could scam a few coins off this indervidual. She smiled, and
continued on her jorney.
'You, robed one, the great lord Sheogorath wants us to sieze your Daedric Robe
of Cleanlieness. Hand over your robe, worshiper of Meridia!' a voice yelled
from behind her
The wanderer turned to face the group of men, 'You are obviously mad trying to
face up against me...' she said quietly
'Oh? so the mouse can talk?' another of the Sheogarath worshipers replied, 'Of
course we are mad, why do you think we worship him?'
'Indeed, that was a silly question,' She replied, 'But if you want my robe, you
will have to fight me for it,' Before any of the three could do anything, the
Wanderer conjoured from Oblivion a Daedric Katana. Seeing this, the three
worshipers charged at her, thier swords drawn. However, our skilled wanderer
dodged the strikes with skill and grace, before striking her Katana into the
weak points of thier armor. Thier dead bodies crumbled before her, as shocked
onlookers gasped at this young conjorers skill with the sword. She canceled the
enchantment and continued on her way, as the blood was absorbed into her robe,
and it regained its snow white apperance, that of a deadly innocence...
From what I have decided, our young wanderer is skilled with the sword, and
knows at least fundamental conjouration, and is a worshiper of my namesake...
or at least used to be... is there a story behind that, or not... I am yet to
decide

Well Meridia, your character looks to have the potential of a
vibrant and intriguing one
Hakan Ulfgard and Louis Corentin: "Ah, the northern shores of
Skyrim!" stated Hakan, "Have ye ever seen such a wonderful site as
pure white snow and ice?" "Personally i find Skyrim a little to cold
for me," replied Louis, trying to stay warm in his robes, "we should
make haste if we are to arrive in 'southern' White Haven in time, i know not
whether it would be faster to travel through on land, or reach the northern
coast of High Rock on ship, and see if someone can teleport us to
Daggerfall." Hakan thought for a moment, "i vouch for the ship, that
is if you can handle the frigid sea and wind." "I think i can handle
it," said Louis confidently, discomfort rarely bothered him, Hakan knew
this despite his teasing words. "We'll book passage on the first ship we
see," Hakan said, "we have plenty of drakes for it, and hopefully
they'll have food onboard to last a few meals, we can't waste time now to go
scout around towns and wilderness for some, though i wish i could look around
more at my old home." "Well, you surely can after this party?"
"Aye, possibly, though i still have duties on Solstheim on occasion."
"So, what do you know of this Lord Darius?" said Hakan, standing at
the front of the ship as it pierced through the waves of the sea. "Not
much, only rumors, i've never met him personally. While on mainland Morrowind,
i overheard some referring to someone known as 'Pelagius II', now i remember
that they were talking of Lord Darius. Apparently the fellow has deep
pockets." "Ah, yes, i once heard some of the Imperials at Frostmoth
talking about him, now that i think of it. Is it true he squandered his wealth?
Or he's running low on money lately?" said Hakan. "I hadn't
heard," replied Louis, "But it would serve to further explain why his
latest event isn't up to the prestige of the Hearthfire Ball he had...although
that turned out to be an ill-fated event. I can see why he would want a smaller
one this time, and it seems this small taverne party supports two purposes
then. Though i wonder, if he has money trouble like you say, how he can afford
the 10,000 septim payoff to the finest scholar...i wonder if he has a hidden
agenda to use this event to regain his wealth." Hakan pondered on
it..."So, what DID happen at Hearthfire Ball?" "Well, i only
know it from rumor, but suffice it to say, things did not go according to
plans, and inevitably went sour," said Louis. "Well, let's hope this
'taverne party' goes as smoothly as this ship! Ha!" Hakan laughed, shortly
before retiring to the cabin...of course not before having a full course meal
and the ship's finest vintage mead.

Uh oh it's on now! I'm gonna sick my characters on him!
Hakan holds his shield in front of him knowing it would take possibly dozens of

escaping, but wondering if letting such a dangerous foe escape would lead to
future incidents, partly he wished he had finished the undead creature off.
Hakan pulled a bottle of mead from his crate, and drank it down, "mead for
your troubles?" he said to Louis, but Louis refused, not being one for
alcohol. Hakan tosses a bottle of it Weird instead. "Here, it'll numb away
that pain from that flying jaw, haha!" Louis laughed at them both, for
such a mostly civilized and well-spoken Nord fight so fiercely and enjoy his
bit of mead (though alcohol seemed to have no effect on him, and he certainly
didn't mind being without it) was an odd sight indeed at times. Like seeing a high-born
Lord arm wrestle with the local town drunk.

Heh, now that thats over (or is it?), I might continue my tale
and get my character in place for tomorrows action before I go over the days
allocated badwidth
Our young heroine (at least she looks young) arrived at the town of White
Haven. Searching around, she found that the town contained only one tavern, and
apparently it was booked by a certian Imperial by the name Darius for a private
party. But sweet talking the owner of the bar (who was in the midst of packing
for a trip to visit his Son in Solitude, and had to leave that very day), he
gave her his room to sleep in for the night, telling her to make sure the place
stays in one piece. Our wanderer was happy at the chance of free accomidation,
and took up this offer, wondering what could happen. Taking a walk down the
streets, she found the town to be nearly deserted, sneaking into a few houses,
she found no clothes, no valubles, it seemed the entire town had dissapered.
The reputation of this Darius fellow proceded him, apparently. Wondering what
she had got herself in to, she made her way to the tavern, where she met the
barstaff, at least those who were brave enough to stay behind, lured by the big
money that this free spending Imperial was known to throw around. She told them
not to wake her, this was the first time she had sleeped in a comfy bed since,
well, since three years ago. She fell into a deep, dreamless sleep...
Anyway, I have another RP going on in another forum... i better get over there
and finish this duel...

I'm working on the intro post for the tavern now; I'll probably post it soon as

How bout the name Dorana. It's a feminine-ish form of the Irish
name Doran, which goes back to the surname O Deoradhain which means
"descendent of Deoradhan" where Deoradhan means exile/wanderer in
Gaelic.

Ah, I have decided, Meredia, a mis spelt version of my username, (since my
character cant exactly be named after a Daedric Lord... but it should be close
to my user name. I have to thank Loranna for this, I got the idea when she
mispelt my Username...)
Oh, yeah, thanks NordRouge for searching that name for me...
Posted by: NordRogue Oct 18 2004, 07:36 AM
I used the same short bit of research i used to find the name
Dorana that i used to find my own character's names I figured a Breton should have a name from well...the old
Bretons, and that a Nord should have a Norse name! So for each character i picked 2 random names
that sounded alright and stuck them together. Oddly enough, i no longer
remember what either name for either character means
Posted by: Meridia Oct 18 2004, 09:43 AM
Really, Meredia is too close to the Daedric name, it could cause
confusion, i realized. Due to this, my Character is now Maranda Dorana

...question...where exactly did we determine the Tavern is?...I

A town in Daggarfall called White Haven... long story, read the posts to find
out why...
QUOTE(Loranna)
In other news, there is a little confusion regarding the
location of White Haven; when I looked at a map of the Iliac Bay region I
didn't see any White Haven, so I assumed it was some random High Rock town and
figured it was vaguely around Daggerfall. I have since learned that there is an
actual established White Haven, way up in the North and West - far more north and
west for what I had in mind.
So, ahh ... for the purposes of the RPs I run, High Rock now had TWO White
Haven towns, one way up in the morth and one down by Iliac Bay, in the general
vicinity of Daggerfall. As one can guess, the inhabitants of both White Havens
strenuously insist that theirs is the first White Haven and each town has a
small knightly order dedicated to staking their claim on the name of White
Haven, and every few years they get together and have a big to do to prove
who's better. We will be set in the southern White Haven, which as all the
locals will tell you is so named for the glorious white rooftops that were
instituted by the founding fathers of the town and by the lovely white
feathered owls that grace the woodlands bordering the town, unlike that OTHER
White Haven which is so called because they get so much snow the town is a
refuge for cold and ice - it's practically Skyrim, I tell you
I think that covers it
Posted by: One87xe Oct 18 2004, 10:13 AM
"Master One I still think we're lost" Ami said
"Perhaps we should stop to ask for directions"
"Since when are there two White Havens? People in one say the other
doesn't exist, and people in the latter have never even heard of the
former...we'll be lucky to reach Darius' party at all"
"I think we'll be ok Ami...there cant be too many White Havens...we'll
just use the process of elimination...how long thats gonna take I dont know
though"
"As you wish Master One" Ami replied
*One and Ami have been lost in High Rock for weeks now...ever since they
recieved Darius' invitation. One didn't ever recall there being two White
Havens and has exchanged words with several farmers and passerbys that insist
that a man named Darius is throwing his party in the Southernmost White
Haven...confused One and Ami trudge on towards their destination...*

Just before the messenger took the letter, Red Lion added a note
which described the route he was taking to make sure that Darius knew where he
was if he replied - he could not wait for a reply at home, it would take him
two or three days to travel to Daggerfall and he still needed to find out,
where exactly the event would take place. If all else failed, he would try to
talk to Darius on spot…or maybe just try to sneak in…if he was lucky, Darius
would not take notice of someone coming without an explicit invitation.
The early morning of the next day, even before the sun had risen, Red Lion
began making arrangements for the time when he was away. He packed a bag with
some elegant clothes, potions and several small things that might come in
handy. His Daedric Katana was too heavy to carry it all the way to High Rock
and he did not expect big trouble underway. As he was going to attend a
gathering of scholars, which he supposed to settle their disputes with sharp
words, not sharp swords, he put his Silver Claymore into the sheath on his
belt. Putting on some common clothes for the journey, his Nordic iron cuirass
and steel greaves, he chose to wear some comfortable boots as there might be
some distance to cover walking. He checked his map for the route he plotted the
other day: he planned to take a scenic route up to Gnaar Mok where he hoped to
find a boat that would take him to the mainland or maybe even to Winterhold,
someone there, who owned a ship, owed him a favor…
Locking the door behind him he stepped out of his hut and made his way to Gnaar
Mok. The dense vegetation of the Bittercoast Region stood in full color and the
dew gleamed, as he felt the warmth of the sunlight on his back...he knew why he
was living here.

"Still no word from Darius on the exact whereabouts on this
party?" Martus, one of Erenius' several acquaintances asked.
"Nope, not a word since the day past last when I recieved that note
stating he was having a party. Unless, to prevent another Daedra invasion, like
last Hearthfire, he gave a quiet message in the note about its
wereabouts." Erenius replied.'
"Very well then, have you the note?" Martus continued.
*Erenius displays the note and reads it over again"
"Hmm...white roofs...no, Whitehaven is too far north for a merry party
this time of year. I doubt its there." Erenius mused.
"Sire, if I may..." Martus offered.
"Yes, my friend?"
"THere are two Whitehavens, if memory serves me right." Martus
divulged.
"What do you mean?"
"There is also one along the Illiac bay...not that far from Daggerfall, I
believe"
*Erenius smiled*
"Of course...thus, we head there soon."
*So it was that the bags were packed, the carriage readied and Erenius set
forth for the southern Whitehaven, not that snowy hell of the same name*

"Why must it always be this kind of weather when I'm
in High Rock?", Adanorcil asked the Nordic shipmaster. He and Adanorcil
were both sheltering from the pouring rain. The shipmaster had left one of is
inferiors in control of the ship.
-"Ah, master High Elf, if you had payed me double I could have taken you
to the other White Haven, all the way up north. It's practically within the
borders of fair Skyrim. There you'll find real wind and storm and snow, a true
Nord's favored weather."
"Land!", a voice shouted from up the deck.
-"I guess we've arrived.", the Nord said a bit superfluently.
***
Adanorcil pulled the hood of his grey coat far over his head as he led his
horse of the ship. "It's not far to White Haven now!", the Nord
yelled from the ship, trying to sound louder than the rain. "Follow the
signs and you'll be there in half an hour."
-"Thank you", Adanorcil said back and commanded his horse to start
walking.

"Master Baxter, there are pirates preparing to engage us! The capatain

"Yawn, have no fear, one of our number is a Battlemage, her name is
Marchioness, she should be below deck. She'll know what to do. By the way,
where are we?"
"We are just off the coast of Stros M'kai, we should reach Daggerfall by
sun set, and then the tavern at night."
"Ah good, a little off schedule, but it matters not."

Hakan Ulfgard and Louis Corentin: The ship came into port, it
was High Rock all right, though..not Daggerfall. They came off the ship and
walked around, hoping to find someone to get information from. "Excuse
me," said Louis, "but do you know of a fast method of travel to White
Haven?" Louis momentarily forgot the fact that there were two.
"You're in luck," said the old man, "there's an old hermit who
lives near the shore, and few miles that way...folks say he's a powerful
sorcerer, so no one goes near him, i hear he's a necromancer too! I bet he
could teleport someone to anywhere in Tamriel for the right...price."
Louis and Hakan took serious expression to their faces, but thanked the old man
for his information. They wondered if the potential for danger was worth the
fast travel, at least, Louis was. Hakan, however, was eager to continue forth, steadfast
in the face of any barrier.
Walking for an hour they came to the old hermit's "dwelling", a hatch
that led undergound, the sand around the area was swept away. They
entered..."what do you want?!" cried an old voice in the dark.
"We heard a sorcerer lived here, we seek passage to White Haven, and
teleportation is the method we must used to arrive in time," said Hakan.
"What! i'm no sailor! And what is this integration you're talking
about?" said the old hermit as he walked into the light. He was old all right...very
old, slunched over with long grey hair and beard. He had the appearance of a
Breton, nearing the age of 200 possibly. "Sir," said Louis, "we
hear you have the ability to teleport people across large distances." The
old man's eyes lit up, "ohhh, oh yes...i can do this," he said with
an eerie smile. Hakan walked up to him, "Good! we seek passage to White
Haven, can you send us there?" Louis interrupted, "That is to say,
the town of White Haven...in Daggerfall." "Oh yes," the old man
smiled, "i can send you to White Haven," before they had time to
speak again, the old hermit sorcerer cast a spell, teleporting Louis and Hakan
to White Haven. "Somehow i didn't expect there to be so much snow in this
part of High Rock," commented Hakan. Louis' eyes squinted as he realized
the old man's trick, "Yes, this is White Haven...but not the right
one...we are in the Northern now, not the Southern....However, we are a good
deal closer to our goal, but we have a bit of a walk ahead of us." Louis
was slightly put off at this, having to carry a 54 pound sword and a sack full
of potions for such a long walk almost annoyed his calm nature. It wasn't the
journey that bothered him, he was up to the task, but it was the old eccentric
man's mistake that bothered him so. He couldn't decide whether the old man, in
his madness, did it on purpose, or accidently. Hakan however, wearing a full
set of armor except helm, with the axe at his side, and still having to carry a
rather large crate, didn't look forward to the long walk any more than Louis
did. He would rather go bear hunting or sing a few songs about glorious battles
than trudge through the lands for hours carrying hundreds of pounds. Yet, he
was ready, and willing to do what was necessary.

Daylight had turned to twilight as Darlantan arrived in White
Haven. Closing his eyes and clasping his hands together, he gave thanks to
Stendarr that, mercifuly, he had completed his journey.
Darlantan went around the back of the tavern to a small shack beside the
stables, to the small shrine to Julianos that had temporarily been erected
there. An acolyte was standing watch.
"Darlantan! You made it!"
"Ha, Brother Tassius, I haven't seen you in years! Tell me, whats
new?"
"Nothing much, Primate. By brother Vassius has been ordained and appointed
to the northern White Haven. They didn't take to him at first, but he is
settling in fine."
"Good to hear"
"There is some sadder news, lord. You remember old Mirisia?"
"Aye"
"She passed away last winter"
Darlantan paused for a minute, reflecting on Mirisia. He sighed.
"That is sad news. Tell me, where is Promulgatio? I wish to know about
tavern business"
"Right this way milord"

They were almost there they already traveled around Skyrim now
heading towards High Rock. Incredibly we dodged icebergs thought Solom.
He went back up on deck there was an amazing view of snowfall hitting some
islands. Gezz its cold I can barely feel my fingers . Solom put his
Nordic fur hat on which he recently bought during there break in Winterhold and
bought some more clothing. There was a Nord who came up on deck with only pants
on.
"Ahh, this is fine weather is it not"
Solom wasn't sure if he was talking to him but found out they were the only two
on deck. "No, its rather cold" rubbung his hands for warmth.
"How can you stand wearing all that clothing on in a weather like
this" he put his arms out in the air
How can you stand not wearing much clothing in a weather like this
"Well it was nice meeting you" he slowly walked back down to the
quaters. While he was walking down to the second floor he bumped into a bosmer.
"Oh, sorry my friend, oh its you the one that I sold the dagger to, wll
have a nice day"
Solom walked a few steps then notice his ring was missing. "Hey give me
back my ring" he chased after him back up to the deck, there was a blast
of cold air. He saw that the half-naked Nord was still up there. "Pardon
me but have you seen a bosmer up here?" he shook his head. Hmm where
could he be. He saw a bread crums near the bow but no one was there. Of
course the ring has a chameleon effect in it he casted a small lighting
spell at the invisible Bosmer
"Owww!" Solom put his hand out making small electicity go around his
finger tips. "Fine here take it, if I knew it made you invisible I wouldnt
have bothered" Hmph a chameleon ring, oh well i might need it in the
future. putting back the ring into his handbag. He looked ahead High Rock
was insight

Grumpy Old Hero: "Bah, of what interest could that be

Carecalmo: "Simple curiosity, good friend. We are mere
sailors, happy to meet civilisation once again."
Grumpy Old Hero: "Well then, I am going to Ye Olde

Darius."
Carecalmo: "Really? What a coincidence! We too are
heading for the party, but could you tell us where we are?"
Grumpy Old Hero: "Hahaha, youngsters sailing for the first
time! You are currently in the Iliac Bay-"
Servant 2 (whispers): I told you so, sire, we have
been in the Iliac Bay all the time.
Grumpy Old Hero (continued): "- the very same bay that
hides Ye Olde Merry Taverne, where we both are going. It's due west of
here."
Carecalmo: "Well, thank you for your time, Mr. Hero,
your presence will be sorely missed at the party."
Grumpy Old Hero: "Waagh!" *Boat is engulfed by flames, and so is Mr. Hero*
Carecalmo: "Now, what way was the tavern?"

Servant 2: "To the east lies the feast!"

"Milord Darlantan! What business brings ye here?"
"Greetings Promulgatio. I am here for a small gathering. Has an imperial
by the name of Darius Practus been in?"
"Aye sir. Is it his party you are to attend?"
"It is Prom, it is. But enough chatter. It has been a long while since
I've last been here. How fares the business?"
"It grows by the day. Almost all the travellers bound est of Daggerfall
stop here now. We're famous throughout High Rock."
" That is good. And the temple?"
"We still send the profits to the temple, though we have switched from
sending a half to Stendarr."
"Explain"
"Well, did you hear about Mirisia?"
"I did. May the Nine bless her soul"
"Well, in her honour we've recently been sending a contribution to the
temple of Arkay. They took care of the funeral"
"I cannot fault you Prom"
"Thanks milord"
"Prom, what have I told you about milord? It's Darlantan. I am not your
lord."
"Yes mi... Darlantan"
"That's better. Are you prepared for the party?"
"Almost. We've got enough ale to support an army of Nords, and a couple of
crates of mead to boot. Jerik went to market yesterday, to buy food. He had to
borrow an extra cart to bring it all back"
Darlantan frowned. It seemed Promulgatio was preparing for a gathering the size
of the ill-fated Hearthfire Ball.
"You said almost"
"Well, lord Darius asked we ordered a lot of brandy. We had a crate
shipped in, but he wanted more, and was prepared to pay for it. Another two are
arriving on the morrow"
"Have you organised any security?"
"Yes"
"Not the guard I hope"
Darlantan knew the local guard. They were useless.
"No Darl, I got half a dozen monks from the militant order of
Stendarr."
"That should cover it. I daresay Darius will bring some more anyway. Have
we got enough rooms?"
"Since the extension was built, I think we'll have plenty."
"Extension?"
"Well, business was thriving, we were short, we didn't think you'd mind...
it wasn't much out of the donations..."
"Eitherway, you should have consulted me. Remember that next time. But
I'll pass it over. I see everything is prepared. I want a room"
"You can have the guest room in my house Darl. My honour"
"Many thanks Prom. I am weary from travelling. Goodnight."
"Goodnight"

was he?"
"I believe "he" was a Vampire Ami...the Bay's filled with them.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Ka'ton brought in some
"extra" help...
"A Vampire? We're being tracked by Vampires now? And to think I came along
for this" Ami stated
"C'mon Ami lets make it to Ilesson first...we'll worry about the details

Somewhere in the middle of the Abecean Sea a ship sails toward
the Iliac Bay. The storm clouds are gone, and the skies are now clear. The

Below the wooden deck sits a grey cloaked Altmer quietly meditating. While B is

unaware that the favorable winds and calm sea are due, in great part, to B’s
exceptional talents.

The candle on his bedside table burned unsteadily as a slight
wind blew through the open window. His mother came into his room, closed the
window and sat down next to his bed: “Hey, my little Lion, I found this book in
a chest. There are some nice tales in it; wouldn’t you like to hear some of
them?”
His mother started to read out the tales with her soft voice that had taken him
to sleep so many times before. But the words that came out of her mouth
frightened him. He wanted her to stop but it seemed as if she did not hear him,
his words had no chance of passing to her ears. As he could not stand it any
longer he jumped out of his bed and ran down the stairs, out of their home,
right through the garden that was barely lit by moonlight; his eyes had not yet
adapted to the darkness so he did not see the fence he fell over, hitting the
ground violently.
He hit the ground. Realizing he had fallen out of his bunk he felt the relief
of recognizing his dream as a nightmare. He got up and put some cold water into
his face to get a clear head. He could have only slept for about two hours
because there was still some light in the sky. The good weather had left them
when they had left Vvardenfell, the sky was cloudy and there was a slight smell
of a storm coming up. The captain shouted over to him: “Hey Sir! You can see it
for yourself, there’s a thunderstorm coming up form the north. There’s no way
I’m going any further up and risk my goods. I’ll moor the boat in a small
fishing village between Blacklight and Winterhold; you’ll have to make your way
from there.”
Great! Good thing I chose my walking shoes he thought to himself.
Early the next morning he arrived at Winterhold. On his way he drank most of
his potions to keep himself from falling asleep in an instant together with
some bottles of flin to keep the strength and to warm up a little. He hurried
to the harbor as there was no time to rest here because he had to catch a boat
to Daggerfall if he wanted to arrive before the party ended.
“Yes, there was a boat going to Daggerfall but it left about an hour ago. I think
there were some passengers…a Dunmer, a Bosmer and a Nord. But you are lucky
because I’m heading to North Point, maybe we can catch up with the other boat.
We should be a bit faster with my light boat and there are a lot of icebergs
around this time of the year so they may be forced to sail slower than they are
able to.” ...

The waves of the sea gently collide with the wooden hull of the
boat. The sound creates a metronomic beat in B’s ears. Raising his head, B
removes his hood and climbs up the stairs to the deck of the ship.
It is a cool evening, and ship is coming to port. The fresh air smells markedly
better than the stale, dank environment of the ship’s belly. As the boat makes
its way to the dock, B surveys the port city.
It shouldn’t take me long to arrive at White Haven, he thinks to himself
as he prepares to leave the ship. Nodding to the captain as he descends, B
climbs down to the wooden walkway of the harbor.

Travelling along, fatigue was now taking them. They hadn't slept
in far too long, yet wearily they continued. They crossed a very small town,
the air was very sultry and a foul smell was about. Little more than a shanty
town were they in. "You two have the look of wealthy heroes," said
someone creeping from the shadows, middle aged wearing torn clothes and missing
a few teeth. "Might i trouble ye for a bit of coin? You see i too was a
hero once, but things didn't go my way....but you, you're a lucky bunch i take
it." "Where's the nearest city?" Hakan asked him. "Oh, a
good few hours walk thataway, if you're looking for rest, here is the best
place to do it for miles." Louis and Hakan looked at each other, both
rather doubting the odd fellow's bold claim. "Come, come, i'll show you a
safe place to stay for the night, dry too!" said the beggar. The two
friend reluctantly followed, he brought them to a building, which was little
more than shafts of wood bound with leather cords, and hay on the roof. In all,
it was about the size of a single room. The floor was simply dirt, but as the
man said, it was dry...and slightly less foul on the senses than the center of
"town". Inside, hiding in the corner was a young girl, old enough to
be a graduating apprentice for some guild if fate had treated her more kindly.
"Oh, yeah, that's my daughter..she ain't good for much..don't say much
either," said the man. She was strangely beautiful despite being so badly
off, clean the dirt and replace the pitiful rags with gowns and robes and she
could pass as royalty. Hakan felt pitty for her, as did Louis, but Louis
couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was soon to happen. Shortly later
Louis heard their "kind host" talking with two of the other local
inhabitants of this sad unnamed town. "Okay here's the deal, you two kill
them in their sleep, i get their belongings, you get my daughter, and if they
have some gold, i'll give you 1/4 of it," the two hirelings ignorantly
accepted the proposal. Hakan was fast asleep, although tossing and turning,
while Louis only pretended to be sleeping. A few hours before the light of
dawn, two men snuck in with iron daggers in hand. Louis sprung up from the
ground and cast paralyzing spells at both of them, while Hakan, hearing the
noise, got up as well. A few quick strikes of the hand and Hakan had them
unconcious. The beggar man who had been their host, jumped from behind trying
to strangle Louis, but being quick of mind and sword, drew it from the scabbard
and gave the man a quick and almost painless death. Louis reached for the young
woman's hand, but fearing something other than kindness, she stood up bravely,
and slapped his hand away. Clearly she had a stout heart and trusted little or
no one. "We don't plan to hurt you in any way milady, but if you would
come with us, and lead us to the next city, we will reward you in any way you
wish, if we have the means." "Alright," she said, unsure why she
trusted his words, "I'll escort you two, in fact Daggerfall is only short
ways from here, which is good because i think we overstayed our welcome in this
place...and i have so longed to escape it."
With that they began again their journey, soon crossing into Daggerfall, though
still not White Haven quite yet. They bought her a month's worth at the nearest
Inn, and the finest clothes and food in town. "You should try out for some
of the local guilds, you have a strong will and need to explore your
strengths," said Hakan. "Maybe i will," she replied. Thanking
them repeatedly for helping start her new life, and they thanking her for
guiding them back to civilization, they set off once more for their
destination...hopefully it would be incident free the rest of the way.

We can keep this thread open for people who want to write out their arrival
into town, but otherwise, we're officially opening for business

Vendelgiest was sleeping sounding-- something he hadnt done in
the past few days. That is.. WAS sleeping soundly. Ra'Vir seemed quite skilled
at ruining such things.
"Mastarr, It is Illiac Bay." the catman drolled.
Reluctantly, the Sorcerer got up, and left the cabin. The air was horridly
damp. Nothing at all like the dry dust of the land around his tower. His
sinuses clogged, and the chill air reminded him of his youth in skyrrim. He was
reminded of how much he hated the cold.
The Lanterns of the other ships at port shone across the dreary darkness, as
the deck rocked gently underfoot while taking its place among them.
"We've reached WhiteHaven!" Thundered the boson. "Prepair to
disembark cargo and passengers!"
The travel preparations were all in order: several large carriages waited
patiently at the docks, to recieve their cargo. It wouldnt be long before they
would arrive at the Tavern.

*The Dawn had come and gone while One and Ami slept...One was
the first to awake where he gained the proper directions to the real White
Haven...he also inquired if other strange "visitors" had come through
the town since their stopping...satisfied that it was relatively safe One and
Ami make their way through the forest and arrive at the White Haven sign
post...after a few questions to some passing travellers the Tavern comes into
view...One no longer senses the one who had followed them the previous night
and they make thier way towards Darius party...The Fist of Harg is clearly
visible even from this distance...*

Solom looked on at the sea while the shipmaster was yelling out
orders to his sailmen "Icebergs ahead! lower the south sail to decrease
speed!" "Aye aye captian" The ship began to go slower there were
icebergs ahead. "Captian theres another ship ahead" Solom looked to
the smaller ship there were only about 5 persons on deck one was waving his
hands in the air.
"Is it pirates?"
"No, its another ship for High Rock, throw down the ladder!" A
sailmen threw down a sterdy ladder down, the smaller ship carefully steered
next to the ship all 5 people climbed up with the luggage. Solom went to help.
The two captians started talking-"Sorry sir but we heard another ship was
heading to North Point and our ship couldn't handle around the icebergs.."
"Its fine, you would've been killed in this condition anyways" Solom
helped a Nord up on deck...
"Thanks for the help friend" The nord was rather tall a few inches
taller than Solom, had blond curly hair but was kinda thin. "May I ask
whats your name and where are you headed?" Solom asked "Me my name is
Red Lion and am looking for a party throwm by a wealthy a imperial named Lord
Dauris" "Im headed there too!.. (he pulled out his invintation paper)
..though we are gonna be late unless, I could teleport us there if you
want" "Teleport?" "Yes" Solom told Red Lion to wait
and walked over to the shipmaster "Um sir may I ask you how long will we
arrive there" "We'll be late due to icebergs" "Well If you
dont mind my and my friend will teleport there" "What Teleport,
alright its not my fualt you two end up in a swamp" he laughed
"Well Red Lion hold on to you luggage and put your arm on my back"
Solom read the directions on the back of the invitation paper. He shouted some
words then there was a bright glow and there was no more of Red Lion or
Solom...
