Hello,
and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and
socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
Loranna's Roleplay, while an open roleplay where everyone is invited to
join, is not a limitless or unregulated game. There are rules we have set
ourselves that make roleplaying easier and more enjoyable for everyone of us.
Please take the time and read the following guidelines carefully and, more
importantly, act according to them.
1. Have fun!
2. Fun does not mean you can do whatever you want, though.
Let us please clarify some points. While everyone is welcome to join in, they
are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING
IT FIRST. Let's be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:
Affecting other characters:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good.
Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
Major Events:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political(converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
For the purpose of coordinating this RP, backstage fun and discussing current
and future events, we have established a chatroom on chatspike.net, chatroom
#Loranna_RP. We strongly recommend that you have a glimpse in there, since it
is the easiest and most convenient way to discuss characters and settings,
explain rules, plan and give you the background information you need to play in
this RP. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the
player whose character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM
them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP You'll enter our chat channel and we can
talk to you.
Here are various other rules, tips and information you should take time
to read before joining this RP:
1. Background History:
Loranna's RP has accumulated a rich background history. Of course, no-one can
know all that has happened in this RP, but it is important that you have at
least an idea about the major events that took place during the last
one-and-a-half years. There are a few posts of Loranna that explain the history
of the RP from her character's viewpoint and a summary of the events in the RP
is in progress, you can find them
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html. Another summary is available as
text file from Nalion, please ask via our chatspike channel or per PM to Nalion
for the time being. We are working on a more permanent solution to provide this
information.
The chatroom #Loranna_RP on chatspike is probably the best and fastest way to
get yourself informed about the RP, just ask the moderators and long-time players
there if you need any information. They will gladly help you. It is also very
advisable to read up on the most recent posts and threads to become a grasp of
what is happening right now in the RP. This will significantly help you in
finding a way to join the action and will reduce the probabiliy of mistakes.
2. Reading and catching up on the RP:
We're a dedicated lot of players, and we love this RP. This means we put a lot
of effort in our posts, do a lot of planning and discussing to create our plotlines.
This requires time and dedication. And we require this of you as well. This
means, take your time to read the posts of the other players and take the time
to catch up on the plot if it progressed while you were away. This simplifies
your rejoin into the action. It is also a sign of respect to the other players.
If you don't have the time to read their posts, why should they bother with
yours, then?
Again, please let me repeat this, for it is very important. If you are not able
or willing to put time and at least reasonable effort in this RP, think again
whether you want to join this RP or not.
3. Gathering information
Gather information about the RP, be it asking in chat, by reading older posts
and getting up to date on the history or by asking via PM. No-one can know
everything, sure, but everyone can ask about what happened. We're glad to
assist! Again, this can not be done without some interest in the ongoings in
the RP, effort and a good bit of dedication.
4. Roleplaying
Roleplaying doesn't just involve making your character say something
(in-character chat). It also has a descriptive element. Motions and emotions of
your character, worries, joys, mimics, movements... we want to see them!
Describe how your character acts, this gives you a better grasp of your
character and will help your fellow players build up a relationship to your
character. It's not only action and big fights we have here in this RP, there
is a major social aspect to it as well.
5. Posting
Try to take your time to post. Yes, we are aware that there are hectic scenes,
like in big combats, where some things move faster, but is it in general a good
idea to look over your post again to check it. Yes, we know it sounds stupid
and obvious, but please care about spelling, punctuation and grammar. They are
not just things you learned in school once to forget afterwards. We are no
decryption experts. Those grammar rules have their meaning, and there are tools
out there to help you(word spell checker for example). Again, the chat is a perfect
way to ask for
time and coordinate with other players if you have problems.
6. Character control / multiple characters
Once more, about controlling characters that belong to other players: You
cannot control a character that is not your own (with a few exceptions, like
having talked to the player of the character beforehand). This means most
of the time the following:
* In combat, you can only try to attack another character, but whether
you hit him or how much damage is inflicted is up to the player of the
character, and only him/her.
* This applies to healing or helping the character as well; feel free to try
and offer help to a character, but let the other player describe the effects of
the healing/helping.
* Especially in combat, you have to work closely with the other players, the
chatroom is the best and easiest method to discuss these things.
Another thing related to this topic is referring or speaking to other
characters whose players are not online. If possible, try to avoid involving
characters when their player is not present. It ties down your character while
waiting for the other player to come back, and you don't know whether the
respective player has other plans when he is back.
Additionally, avoid generating scenes where you involve a character, affect him
with an action and finish the action before the player can react (stealing,
attacking, casting spells or similar actions). Example: No running up to
someone, rob him and run away to safety all in one post. This is a no go.
Controlling multiple characters. We have no written limits on how many
characters you may control; the limit is you. In general, it is very advisable
that you stick to one character when you are new to RPing. When creating a
character, it is VERY important that you consider your character carefully.
Again, this has something to do with effort and dedication. It is generally a
bad sign if you join up, post a couple of posts and then say you are bored with
this character and make a new one. Other players might get annoyed greeting and
introducing their characters to a new character when it is obvious that this
character will not last long because the player gets bored with the new
character. This RP is a social RP as well, and it is very difficult to socialize
with a character that is badly played, where you can see by the style of
writing that the player is already bored with the character and will throw him
away at the next opportunity. RPing is all about characters and your character
is your "representative" in this RP, your voice, your arm, your mind.
Please take this into account when creating and playing your character.
As a general rule of thumb, use only one character until you feel comfortable
with him, can control him, have fun with him and the character is established
in the RP. The rest will run automatically after a while when you get more
confident and experienced in RPing.
7. Secret plans
Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're
revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards
they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them. Examples: Your character
suddenly remembers that he has a castles all over Tamriel and calls in troops
to help. Or: Your character suddenly reveals he is a spy of the Emperor and
knows everything.
8. Ingame consequences of character actions:
Morrowind the game was rather lenient when it came to direct consequences after
a character's action. This is not the case in our RP. There are laws and local
customs, and there are guards and other authorities that are there to enforce
them. So, starting tavern brawls, stealing, murdering, open assault and all
other related actions are very likely to be persecuted and punished (this can
go up from your character ending up in jail, being banished or to be executed).
This doesn't mean that there are no murders or thefts in the RP, but it does
mean that if you do that, be aware of the consequences your character will have
to deal with.
9. Additional helpful information:
Please make sure that you read the following post of Allerleirauh
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855,
dealing with some of the above mentioned rules, as well as the hints on
character generation done by Loranna
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=3828224.
Please take the above mentioned rules and information into careful
consideration, they will help you in joining this RP quickly and are useful to
avoid problems. And more importantly: act according to them!
** Not following the above advice will only result in two things: your
post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone else as if it did not
happen and/or you are asked to leave the RP. This is obviously not good for
anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them and act according to
the rules mentioned above. **
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna: Loranna is, according to her seneshal, on a brief
trip to Skyrim, for reasons currently unrevealed. Prior to this unexpected side
trip, Loranna had recieved a letter from Indoril Faryon, claiming to offer
whatever aid he can to counter the threat of Mannimarco, an offer which Loranna
has not yet answered. She had also checked in on the still-amnesiac and
disturbed Dres Minsero, and confirmed that Zadion was indeed connected to him
all along - by learning that Zadion is Minsero's son. Suddenly, a great many
things seemed much clearer.
Gram is now back in Ald Raathim, having participated in the very deifnition of
a 'merry chase' across Firsthold when the party evaded the Dark Brotherhood.
Having gained immortality by appearing in the action-packed climax of
Baloth-Kul's latest play, and given a sterling account of the wonders of Skyrim
to Glacia and her servant/friend Thandra, he now awaits a chance to show his
daughter that he did indeed bring Isidor home safe and sound, and that womanly
wrath need not be invoked on Reeds and Erenius.
Dayla, when last seen, was spending time teaching her filia Anya further
secrets of the Bathogorgen tribe of vampires. Anya is proving to be a most
impatient student, though, which vexes Dayla some because one trait all
vampires must eventually learn is patience. However, she does seem to be
enjoying the challenge of getting this point across.
Finally, Sir Gancolm, Knight of the Order of the Circle, has just been freed of
the effects of a curse which had befallen him prior to meeting the heroes from
Ald Raathim, and pursuaded by Dana's words, he has handed her the legendary
Spellbreaker. He and she have returned to the Temple of Arkay, but before he
himself can do more than wipe the grime from his face, his Knight Captain has
whisked him off to have a word with him ...

[2] QUOTE(Loranna)
[3] Black Marsh
Restoring the treasures to the tower took some time, but the two Argonian
guides joined the heroes in helping to carry the heavy crates back, and Hesek
found he still had a touch of the wild strength that had imbued him when he
struck down the smoothskins. Still, it took a good portion of the rest of the
day, for the skeletons had taken almost all of the treasures from the tower.
"These are the gifts our people made for the Wamasaii," one of the
guides explains when picking up an ancient Argonian relic. "The gold and
gems were theirs."
Touching one of the statues reverently, the second guide says "The
Wamasaii came here to bear their young, but several of their kind came here for
their final rest, that their spirits would watch over the young. Time had
caused them to slumber deeply, but the Spear awoke them, and they indeed
remembered." Both guides had knelt at the statue and chanted in Hist,
thanking the spirits of the long-lost dragons for showing their favor.
The slain smoothskins, the Argonians stripped, their belongings made into an
offering. However, search as they might, no one could find the bone sword that
had been the greatest foe of the heroes in their struggle.
"An evil omen; the corrupt sword has doubtless left to seek a new
wielder," one of the guides hisses.
Finally, the treasures were restored to the tower, and all traces of the Sload
that had been in the sacred edificae had been erased. Solemnly, the Argonians
looked to the others, standing over the bodies of the slain smoothskins.
"They are doubtless escaped criminals; there is likely a great reward for
their death," one explains. "Do you wish to take their heads as proof
of your victory over them?
"What shall we do with that?" the other asks, pointing to the sload
airship. "It is a vile thing ..."[4]
[5]
Hesek, known to the softskins as Slashes-With-Claws, commander of the army of
Ald Raathim, is in his homeland of Argonia. The shrine had been cleansed and
restored back to its proper state. He went over the whole shrie one last time, he
wanted everything to be perfect.
The strength the Wamasaii had granted him was gone, but he still felt a hint of
their presence.
He offered up a final Hist chant to the great lightning dragons, holding the
spear high as he did so.
He looked at the dead bodies of the three warmbloods. "Yes, we shall have
their heads. Though proof of our cleansing of the shrine is not needed I am
sure, the criminals will make a good trophy of our victory."
He pondered the airship, perhaps it would be good to keep such a device, it may
be useful. [6]

Anya is proving to be a most impatient student, though, which vexes Dayla some because one trait all vampires must eventually learn is patience. However, she does seem to be enjoying the challenge of getting this point across.
[10]
Summary: Anya, when presented with a skill she enjoyed or thought
useful, could show a single-mindedness in pursuing it, one of the reasons she
became skilled if not obtaining mastery in a variety of the martial arts.
Fustration was showing, though, as she could only hold what seemed like
intricate shapes for a little bit before tiring and reverting, most likely much
to the amusement of Dayla for whom this was child's play. Her mind, though, was
still tickled by the Masque of Clavicus Vile which she held, teasing her with
thoughts of accpetance by those who would condemn, or lecture her, disctracting
Anya. [11]
Summary: Shaka, an
Argonian battlemage, is in the Temple of Arkay waiting for the return of the
Spellbreaker shield.
Shaka had glimpsed Dana and Sir Gancolm's return, but hadn't yet the chance to
speak with them.
While he waited to hear the knight's fate after the talk with the Knight
Captain, Shaka walked through the temple grounds, finding them an oasis from
the city beyond. Shaka found himself thinking of Anya, and wondering how she
was faring in her explorations; and of Telera. [12]
Vaan's
Summary:
Vaan is in the Temple of Arkay in the city of Sentinel, browsing through the
books in the Library, while waiting for whatever was to happen next, probably
Dana telling them it was time to leave.
Somehow, he just didn't find any interest in these tomes like he had with the
ones of the Tribunal temple, nevertheless, he looked through some of them,
gaining a slight knowledge of the ways of the Religion and it's doctrine. Soon
he found himself in Osa's row, and frowned as he saw what she was reading.
Taking a step back, he let her carry on, considering the situation they were
in, it seemed somewhat excusable for her to read that particular tome. He moved
on, not wanting to disturb her. [13]

Summary for Erenius
Erenius is back in Ald Raathim, alongside Gram and the others who partook in
the events of Firsthold and the random Guild jumps about Tamriel. [19]
Summary
Kethiah, ex-assassin, tavernkeeper of the Nymph and Noggin, and new mother is
working with her brother-in-law at the tavern. Her adventuring husband Isidor
should be arriving back from Firsthold anytime.
Zadion, magister of the Ald Raathim Mages Guild, is dividing his time between
the Guild house, where is gathering resources to fight Mannimarco and preparing
for his own replacement, and the Temple of Healers, where he visits his father,
Dres Minsero.
Glacia Rysleire and Thrandra, Altmer women out of Summerset for the first times
in their lives, are getting the full tour of Ald Raathim.[20]

[33]
"Dar'Tessir agrees with Tsei, it could be very useful. It seems to this
one the best way to get it back would be to fly it."
He looked down at himself. He was wet, his fur was caked with bugs and mud (and
a little blood), and he smelled of death from his close tango with the corpse.
"Ugh, Dar'Tessir needs a stiff, perfumed brush." He was slightly
disapointed that they couldn't take some of the magnificent artifacts home with
them but understood and didn't say anything, in order to avoid offending the
Argonians. [34]

The Nymph area was quiet. When Isidor entered, the barmaids who were serving
the few customers present told him Kethiah was next door at the Noggin, dealing
with a fight.
Entering the rougher tavern, he found that the fight was over. There was a
broken table, a couple bloody noses, but Kethiah was lecturing the group. It
was obvious that the majority of the bloody noses had been inflicted by her.
"Oh, hello, darling," she said, jumping into his arms and kissing
him. "You're back early!"
The patrons looked at one other, and sullenly got back to drinking.[39]

[56]
The Argonian guides look at the party with odd looks, but one of them shrugs
and says "As you wish. We know nothing of flying these ... things,
however."
The two guides leave the party to go into the ship and figure out how to
operate it, while they themselves make a point of decorating the carriage
portion with tribal symbols, that their fellow Argonians mayknow that the ship
is controlled by friends and not enemies.
The ship is alien on the inside, designed with a Sload's sensibilities in mind.
The control panel is all pressure-sensitive plates and guages marked in a
script nobody recognizes. Determined study though will at least let people
figure out the basics of making the ship move up and down and how to steer it,
though at best they can manage a sluggish, wallowing pace, faster than walking
mostly by virtue of being able to avoid the undergrowth.
Hears the Whispers is waiting for the party when they finally drop anchor; the
Mague Guild Argonian guides look up at the airship in wonder and fear, hissing
among themselves and pointing at the ungainly thing.
Hears the Whispers walks up to Hesek, and says in Hist "The shrine is

his servants." Hesek says in Hist. "The Wamasaii even granted me
their powers for a time to aide in defeating the vile intruders."
Hesek holds the Wamasus spear out to Hears-the-Whispers with both hands.
"I was honored to be able to carry such a sacred artifact as this
spear." [62]

"I was honored to be able to carry such a sacred artifact as this

[67]
Hears the Whispers reaches out, and takes hold of the spear, his milky eyes
seeming to focus on Hesek as he does.
"The Wamasaii have marked you," he says in Hist. "You carry
their favor. Be careful though, young warrior, for all such favor comes with a
price. But bear it with pride, for you have earned it."
He motions for Hesek to follow him back to the hut, where he reverently
restores the spear to its proper place. "May this token never be needed as
it was today, though always shall we remember," he intones.
Then, he walks over to a table, cluttered with bric-a-brack, and picks up an
egg the size of a man's foot, carrying it carefully over to Hesek.
"Within this egg, I have stored sap from the sacred Hist," he says,
handing the container over to Hesek. "Take it and may the power of the
Hist protect you against the death that encroaches from the north."[68]
Hesek wondered what
Hears-the-Whispers meant by carrying the favor of the Wamasaii. He gave a final
traditional parting and returned to the others, carrying the egg with the
sacred sap carefully; he could feel the power of the Hist sap inside.
"Let us return to Stormhold now, maybe these heads will be worth something
as well." He said, indicating the three severed human heads.
He takes the heads and get on the boats, they did not want to risk flying the
airsship into Stormhold and getting wrecked by the ever persistant storms.
Hesek looked at Tsei and spoke in Hist, "I was surprised to hear you
speaking Hist. You have learned much." [69]

Kethiah was an appreciative audience, laughing at the image both of the wild

OOC Summary
Reichi Sari is in the bathogorgen sanctuary within Cyrodiil, and is relaxing in
one of the 'guest rooms', little more than a dressed up cattle chamber, which
is akin to a torture chamber. The deer stakes are good though. [126]
When they reach
Stormhold the weather is, as expected, rainy. Hesek takes the three heads of
the warmbloods killed at the Wamasus shrine and heads to the local Argonian law
authority.
He enters the building and approaches one of the officers. He holds up the
heads, a scar on the Nord's face is clearly visible. Speaking in Hist he says,
"These three warmbloods were found desecrating the shrine of Wamasus. As
you can see they have been dealt with. I heard from a marshbrother that there
may be other crimes they were wanted for."[127]

The Argonian captain picks up the head of the Nord and looks at it for a

"Hasfaj One Eye," he says in a pleased tone. "One of the escaped
criminals from Blackrose. Then these other two must be his partners, Wayn
Masterhouse and Aggripia Practamus. Nasty bunch; you say they were desecrating
a shrine to the Wamasus? Good riddance to them then."
"There was a bounty on their heads; ten thousand septims each," the
captain continues, beckoning for one of hus juniors. "I'll make you out a
letter of credit; good job."[137]

she says, holding out her hand to the young Altmer girl. "I hear you've
had quite a trip, and I see you've survived being rescued by my father and my companions.
Good show."
She looks to Reeds for a moment, then says "So, did I just overhear you
two talking about Glacia's future here in Ald Raathim?"[261]

"do you have a suggestion?" [266]

[268] The cattle woman nods,
holding the door open for Reichi. "Aye sir; they be wanting
you," she says, still looking slightly confused over Anya's passing up of
her neck. She leads Reichi to Anya and Dayla.
"I know," Dayla says. "It was hard for me too."
She stares at Anya for a moment, debating whether to say something ...
" ... Just keep in mind, filia - you're immortal now, but your friends ...
aren't," she says seriously. "Eternity is a long time to
mourn."
At that moment, the cattle returns with Reichi in tow.
[270]
Reichi simply grinned as he approached. "Everyone dies sometime. Those
unphased by the passing of ages are simply consigned to a violenter
death," he said. "Not something that worries me though. As that book
said 'Death does not diminish, the ghost gilds with glory', or
something..." Reichi trailed off, and shook his head to clear the
thoughts.
"Anyways, we're going I take it?" [271]

Slyvos had been for

Mannimarco, researching further into his old notes to see if he could possibly
find any more information then they already have. He has not yet had enough

Shaka around for awhile, looking at the various shops they stopped at, but not
caring to buy anything. Wanting to get a better look of the city, he went off
on his own, wandering through the streets. After awhile, he got tired and made
his way to the nearest tavern, the Falcons Claw. As he walked in, he noticed
the rest of the group had chosen this tavern as well.
He spotted the dunmer they had been traveling with, and made his way over to

"High Rock," he said, taking a sip of the mazte, "Then I came to
Ald Raathim. A few of Loranna's friends helped find an old study of my
grandfather's. He had left me a map in his will."
"Once we found it, I locked myself in there for quite awhile, studying
night and day. He left me alot of his knowledge, and I am still not done
reading it all. I was in there when Tel Dresori happened. When I came back to
Ald Raathim, Dana told me all about it. Really bad stuff, it seems."
"Since Ald Raathim had helped me, I decided I owed it a favor. I almost
wish I hadn't have volunteered, now that I have spent my time walking through
sewers."
"That's how I came to be sitting here," he finished. "How did
you get here?" [431]
[432] QUOTE(One87xe @ Mar 1 2006, 10:45 PM)
[433] *...for the first time
in a long time Osa's interest is genuinely sparked...*
"You were there for the Battle!?! Please, you must tell me about" Osa
starts as she bekins for the barmistress "I heard there were creatures of
pure Metal...like a creature of the Sea" Osa then throws a hefty 15 Drakes
on the table, bending the barmaid to her will "You...hon...whatever he
wants to drink till he's done" Osa begins half-interupting Shaka's story
"...now you were saying about the Alliance? I'm not quite sure who or what
that is" she continues
[435]
"Well, I was only one of those who stood on the walls that day," said
Shaka, not wanting to seem to boast. "We lost a lot of good people, too
many . . . ."
He went on to recount the apocalyptic battle for Ald Raathim, the tide of death
that battered the city's walls and broke through, the war machines, the
fanatical Redoran and Indoril. How the day had seemed lost, until a combination
of luck and improvisation had held the line and seen the enemy retreat.
"I missed the Blue Dawn and the battle for Red Mountain," concluded
Shaka, "which Loranna and others of her company can tell you of
personally. But that day in Ald Raathim struck me as a little like the battle
between Dwemer and Chimer in the days of Nerevar. It was on that kind of scale,
or so it seemed at the time."
"As to what the Alliance is, they're the warrior Houses who want to
overthrow Helseth and kick all of the n'wah out of Morrowind. But the Indoril
and Redoran seem to have internal divisions as well, between those who are
willing to bargain with the Empire and those unwilling to deal with any
outlanders."
"I shouldn't pretend to any great knowledge, though," he concluded.[436]

[438] Reeds was feeling more than a bit jealous, "I suppose you have an idea about accomodations for Glacia too?" Reeds asks Loranna, a small bit of bite in his voice.
[440]
Glacia turned to look at Reeds, wondering what he was thinking. He almost

having inadvertantly saved her life.
Reed's tone stops Loranna short, however, and a tiny frown comes to her
face. "Well, we can work out accomodations for her now if you
like," she says, raising an eyebrow at Reeds. "Glacia, did you
have any preferences in that regard?"
[444]
"You're inspiring a lot of trust in me, your Grace," Glacia said,
turning to her. "I don't have any preferences about accomedation. Whatever

Glancing signifigantly at the Masque, she sighs "I can understand why
people felt the way they did, but I've always wished I could make them
understand what it was like to hear thoughts as naturally as breathing
..."
[578]
Abya frowned, and put the Masque back in her satchel, noticing Loranna's glance.
She understood what was happening, but the Masque was still tantalizing.
"I'm so glad I missed that part. I'm not too sure I'd like anyone snooping
around in my head. Now, back to the issue at hand, can these things help us at
all?" [579]

As Anya puts away the Masque, Loranna blinks, and shakes her head a bit.
"Well, this belt was able to keep the innermost thoughts of a person
hidden even from Azura," she muses. "Granted Azura was weakened at
the time ... still, it could well work against Mannimarco as well, should he
have developed the ability to hear peoples' thoughts. As for the Masque ... if
memory serves, it enhances one's pursuasiveness, no?"
She looks at Anya's satchel for a moment, then clasps the belt around her own
waist, grimacing a bit as she hikes her belly over the belt. "Dear, let me
see the Masque again for a moment?" she asks.[584]

well too. Among other things, at least. Why do you want to know.?" Her

[590] QUOTE(Xyber02 @ Mar 1 2006, 10:14 PM)
[591] Anya slipped out her
Amulet of Recall, which would bring her to the Inn so they could take the Guild
back. "I'd rather avoid the violent death if at all possible. Mater, come
to Ald Raathim sometime, and I'll show you what I know."
"Ready when you are, Riechi." Anya said, as she activated her amulet,
leaving in a swirl of magic.
[593]
"Goodbye then, Dayla," Reichi said turning to the vampiress after
Anya had left. "Thanks for the artifacts and books, I'm sure they'll be
useful in some capacity.Though, as soon as the Masque outlives its usefulness,
I fully intend to punt it into the Black Marsh or something."
The Dunmer pulled his recall amulet from around his neck so he could activate
it. "One last thing - if you intend on swallowing me again, you will
have to catch me..." with that, he winked and vanished.

Loranna touches the Masque, and a smile comes to her lips. "I had a wild

Anya wrapped the belt around and buckled it. After a moments looking, Anya saw
the difference. Anya held the Masque up, staring at it quizzically. Her mind
quieted, no longer whispering of acceptance. This concerned Anya a bit, as she
had considered the Masque to only amplify a person's wants, not actually create

"That's the basic plan, yes - that, and to rescue Goranthir in the

Neldam Othren looked around the camp of his old friend and ally, Indoril Rayis.
It was rare he was away from his post at Bodrum, but his friend said he must
come. Troops everywhere seemed to be preparing for war, sharpening swords,
spears, shining armour... Othren knocked on the manor house that Rayis made his
Headquarters in...
[755]
Rayis's manor was famed among the Indoril for being simple and unpretentious -
the less chariatible would describe it as boring and drab, but those views
reflected typical Outlander tastes, not true Dunmer aesthetics.
Neldam will find Rayis in his study, poring over a map of northwestern
Morrowind; he greets his Housemate with a quick, thin smile and a curteous nod.
"Councellor, so good to see you," he says, motioning for his servants
to close the door; the older Indoril can see repressed excitement in Rayis's
eyes. "Come old friend; I have something to show you. Something I think
you will find very inspiring."
He takes out a parchment from his robes and hands it to Neldam. "From one
of my most trusted associates," he explains, smiling his thin smile again.[756]

Neldam read the document, twice, 'Are you sure about this, Rayis? If so, it
will mean that we can take Verannis Hall... should we tell the council about
this?' he stood over the map Rayis was looking over, his long, narrow finger
tracing the short distance from Omayni to Verannis, 'No, no, they would take
too long arguing and bickering, and if we're right, and we take advantage of
this, it will show up all those people who think that we need forigen help to
win... the Duke of Morrowind never needed this help in repelling Reman!' he
pronounced grandly, 'I can forcemarch my troops here within two days if you

"Your thoughts are mine, Councellor," Rayis says, clasping the older
Indoril's shoulder. "But I have even loftier thoughts in mind. Yes,
loftier still."
"It has come to my attention," Rayis continues, "that the
so-called heroes of Ald Raathim are preparing a campaign in the Dragontail Mountains,
clear across the other side of Tamriel. They're already scattered hither and
yon, probably trying to talk other fools into aiding their schemes. And, I have
heard that the Archmagister of the Mage's Guild actually did take the
Chairmer's complaints seriously, so the Mage Guild will not be coming to the
city's defense this time."
"Surely this is the work of ALMSIVI," he continues, his excitement
showing through. "We take Verannis, then make a quick strike against Ald
Raathim. Without their heroes and the Mage Guild, their morale will be lower;
we will spread phamplets proclaiming that the supposed defenders of the city
have abandoned them to go play games in High Rock. Whether we can get a
foothold in the city or not, we win; their champions will come back to find a
city angry at them for not being there, and Ald Raathim will turn against

'Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful' Neldam said, a grin on his face, 'you should
really be the next Duke of Mournhold once this war is won, not like that
sniviling coward, Muthsera Barreth with such brilliant scheming. I shall bring
my troops up immediatly from Bodrum Mora to support the attack. It shouldnt

Outside the window, a young dunmer boy had his ear to the window, picking up
the conversation. Once he heard that, he ran off to his father... within a few
hours, they were back in Kragenmoor, and reporting to Valdoon Thelas [771]
Sentinel, the
Temple of Arkay
Dana stepped out of the side-door which led to the residential part of the
temple, where the knights and priests lived when not on duty, and into the main
hall of the temple. She was freshly - and thoroughly - bathed and a faint smell
of soap wafted around her. Her dark red hair was still slightly wet. The
Redguard woman was clad in the more lighter clothes that she had worn when
arriving in Sentinel, and had donned the golden bracelets and earrings.
The belt with her glass sword hung loosely around her waist, her lute was still
wrapped in its bag on her back. With a smile and the magnificent feeling of
being clean, she looked around to see if some of her companions were around. [772]

"Yes, indeed. I still am amazed by the Wamasu temple... The architecture
was fantastic. A shame it had fallen to these necromancers. But you all have
done well in restoring the shrine."
Nalion looked at Tsei, then took another bite of his meal.

[899] "We met a very
interesting Argonian, called Hears-the-Whispers. He sent us to a shrine of the
ancient Wamasu...", Nalion said to Loranna, outlining their adventure in
the swamps.
"You would have seen some failiar faces, too. Seven-Stars and Peel, if you
can remember our first stay in Stormhold. We stayed at the Inferno again."
[901]
"I remember Seven Stars and Peel," Loranna says, cradling the egg in
her hands, "as well as the Inferno. I'm jealous almost; it sounds like you
had quite an adventure, and seen things we only get one chance a lifetime to
see."
She looks back down at the egg, marveling at it. "I've made my
preperations; I'm ready to use this to make our potions," she says.
"All that remains now is for the group at Sentinel to return and tell us
how their quest went. Morgiah and my new adjunct, Glacia, will be organizing
the various groups that have promised to lend us aid, which even include our
current enemies the Indoril - Mannimarco is recognized by all as a greater
problem than our own rivalries."[902]
[903] QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 2 2006, 09:35 PM)
[904] After several moments,
Sir Gancolm comes out, dressed in a new surcoat and looking much cleaner than
before. His expression remains as serious as it was when the party first
met them, though his eyes linger on Dana for a second as he nods to each person
in turn.
" ... Sirs and ladies, I owe you my life," he says, bowing
formally. "I am told that, had you not come along and found me, I
would have succumbed to the power of the curse that the necromancer inflicted
upon me. I thank you for your your timely assistance and apologize for my
... brusque and discourteous behavior."
His eyes still betray a touch of wariness, though to Dana's eyes, the young man
does seem to be sincerely trying to apologize.
[906]
"It's okay, Gancolm, at least from my side.", Dana said. "You
weren't at your best down there. And that you apologize is very nice of
you."
Dana looked into Gancolms eyes.
"You look much better when clean... and smell better, too. Well, of
course, I think that applies to all of us.", Dana grinned, showing her
white teeth. [907]
[908] QUOTE(syronj @ Mar 2 2006, 09:39 PM)
[909] Shaka bowed in
turn. "Sir, I also apologize for my behavior at the time. It
was a privilege for us to fight at your side. I also hope that your
father's murder can be avenged someday."
"May Arkay show you his continued favor, for your loyal service to the
true God of Life and Death."
[911]
"May Arkay extend his blessings to all of you in the struggle that
awaits," Sir Gancolm says, nodding to Shaka in mute acceptance of his
apology.[912]

The tiniest of smiles comes to Sir Gancolm's lips. "Indeed, Dana," he
concurs. "The sewers are not the most hospitable of places."
He is quiet a moment longer, a bit of awkwardness showing.

"We had a rather rainy adventure, too, Loranna. I don't think it has
stopped raining in Stormhold since we left it after returning from the
Vaults.", Nalion said and smiled.
"Good luck in making your potions. I somehow don't think they taste as
nasty as the few ones I make for myself when needed.", he added, before
turning on the topic of the efforts against Mannimarco. "It's good to see
some progress. And that we are not alone in our struggles. Though I am still
wary about the Indoril. This temporary alliance might hold and help, but once
we are - so fate is willing - successful, I fear that the struggle will go on.

Loranna gives a short, somewhat bitter laugh. "I would like to think so,

"Good, perhaps this belt will help someone to keep any outside influences
off one's mind. I wonder...", Nalion thought for a long moment.
"Perhaps Anya might be suited to wear this belt... she is undead, but with
this, she could keep Mannimarco's influence off her."
It was obvious that Nalion still had doubts, but is was a kind of peace offer
he wanted to express to Loranna first. And an attempt to work together.
"It would be good if we had Anya's support in this when going into

[947] QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Mar 2 2006, 07:57 PM)
[948] Glacia, Morgiah, and Loranna went to the tailors, and then Morgiah and Glacia went on to the Imperial Embassy, the Mages Guild, and the Temples of the city, to introduce Glacia as the Duchess's ambassador.
[950]
Reeds and Glacia had not sooner arrived at his bookstore then those two went
and wisked her off again. Women, he reflected as he dug out the key to
the upstairs room from a drawer, were something he would never understand.
He opened the door to the room which Glacia would be living and investigated
it. It was still the unused, bare room that it was when Reeds had bought the
place, although the floor rug was clean, not much dust, and those empty crates
were easily moved down to the basement. A few hours and a couple of purchases
at the local furniture store later, the room was looking alot less like a store
room and much more like a guest bedroom. It was spartan to be sure, but Reeds was
sure that Glacia would want to decorate her own room. He re-locked the door and
went downstairs to wait for Glacia to return and to look over the booklists
that the Mages Guild and Loranna had given him.
Most of the list Reeds could have easily guessed; updated versions of some
volumes, some of the less common sets, a few more copies of the basics...
Although there were some oddities, a couple of these Reeds had not even heard
of. Yep, these lists would take time to fill. He sat down and began to write
out price lists and order forms. [951]

Shaka smiled slightly at the scene between Dana and Gancolm, but said nothing

bowed to the brightly-garbed Sentinel mages and were transported to Ald
Raathim.
The battlemage stepped into the humid heat of the Ald Raathim guild, a contrast
with Sentinel's drier and greater heat.
Relieved to be back, Shaka turned to the others. "I'm going to try

[1032]
"The Spellbreaker?" Loranna says, eying the gleaming Dwemer metal
shield, seemingly humming with quiet power. "Amazing; not only do mortal
forces gather to resist the Worm God, but artifacts do as well ..."
She listens attentively to the account of the party's adventure, her eyes
resting on Dana; the young Redguard woman looked much more at peace than she
had been when she left, which brought a smile to Loranna's lips.
"Sewers aren't the first choice for seeking treasures," she agrees with
a laugh, "but dungeons are hardly better. I'm glad to hear though that
everyone made it through your quest safely, and that the Temple was able to
grant us such aid. May this shield turn aside Mannimarco's wicked spells and
keep us safe in our struggle."
She sighs, and rises. "Then all that truly remains, is to organize the
troops, and to prepare the Hist sap," she says. "Muthsera Morgiah and
my new adjunct Glacia are working on the former, and I will handle the latter
..."
"And thank you Dana; this is my favorite part of the castle," Loranna
agrees. "I can feel Jazbet's presence here more clearly than anywhere
else."[1033]
[1034] QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 3 2006, 12:27 AM)
[1035]
She sighs, and rises. "Then all that truly remains, is to organize
the troops, and to prepare the Hist sap," she says. "Muthsera
Morgiah and my new adjunct Glacia are working on the former, and I will handle
the latter ..."
"And thank you Dana; this is my favorite part of the castle," Loranna
agrees. "I can feel Jazbet's presence here more clearly than
anywhere else."
[1037]
"So this egg contains the Hist sap, Your Grace? Strange to finally be near
something from the Hist, after most of a lifetime. . . . And Reeds has not only
found his friend Glacia, she's your adjunct now as well. I can see I have some
catching up to do."
Shaka turned to look at the Redguard. "If we succeeded, it was mostly
thanks to Dana. Not only did she understand the ways of Sentinel, she defused
the situation with Gancolm, as you've heard."[1038]
[1039] QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 2 2006, 11:27 PM)
[1040] "The
Spellbreaker?" Loranna says, eying the gleaming Dwemer metal shield,
seemingly humming with quiet power.
"Sewers aren't the first choice for seeking treasures," she agrees
with a laugh, "but dungeons are hardly better. I'm glad to hear
though that everyone made it through your quest safely, and that the Temple was
able to grant us such aid. May this shield turn aside Mannimarco's wicked
spells and keep us safe in our struggle."
[1042]
Dana shrugged towards Sivartus. "I just did what needed to be done,
Sivartus. Well, what I thought needed to be done, at least."
"It's beautiful here, Loranna.", Dana said, breathing in the scent of
a herb that she held close to her nose. "It is getting late though, and it
has been an exhausting day. If you will excuse me?"
The Redguard woman nodded to the others and turned to leave the garden and the
castle.
"Well done, all of you.", Nalion said after wishing Dana a good
night. "With Spellbreaker, we have another item in our hands that will
prove helpful. However... I think I will leave now as well. Loranna has brought
something to my mind that I should pursue further. I will see you soon."[1043]
[1044] QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 2 2006, 11:27 PM)
[1045] She sighs, and rises. "Then all that truly remains, is to organize the troops, and to prepare the Hist sap," she says. "Muthsera Morgiah and my new adjunct Glacia are working on the former, and I will handle the latter ..."
[1047]
"I must leave..." Sivartus said, bowing to Loranna, not knowing if he
needed to. He had never seen any of the others bow, but it could be because
they were friends. "...but I hope we will see each other soon. I am glad I
could help Ald Raathim." [1048]
Acknowledging Dana,
Sivartus, and Nalion, and bidding the others farewell, Loranna retires for the
night, a servant coming to take the Spellbreaker while she herself carries the
egg.
She had a long day ahead of her tomorrow.

And with that, it's time to
LOCK ON!!!
