Loranna's Notice: Yes, I know there are two sets of rules right now; we are currently revising the boilerplate intro section, and this is a work in progress.

(yes I know I'm being slow in the revision; please be patient wink.gif

RP Rules:

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

Loranna's Roleplay, while an open roleplay where everyone is invited to join, is not a limitless or unregulated game. There are rules we have set ourselves that make roleplaying easier and more enjoyable for everyone of us. Please take the time and read the following guidelines carefully and, more importantly, act according to them.

1. Have fun!

2. Fun does not mean you can do whatever you want, though.

Let us please clarify some points. While everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

Affecting other characters:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

Major Events:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political(converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

For the purpose of coordinating this RP, backstage fun and discussing current and future events, we have established a chatroom on chatspike.net, chatroom #Loranna_RP. We strongly recommend that you have a glimpse in there, since it is the easiest and most convenient way to discuss characters and settings, explain rules, plan and give you the background information you need to play in this RP. You can find information on how to join the chatroom ((((//HERE\\)))).

Here are various other rules, tips and information you should take time to read before joining this RP:

1. Background History:

Loranna's RP has accumulated a rich background history. Of course, no-one can know all that has happened in this RP, but it is important that you have at least an idea about the major events that took place during the last one-and-a-half years. There are a few posts of Loranna that explain the history of the RP from her character's viewpoint and a summary of the events in the RP is in progress, you can find them ((((//HERE\\)))). Another summary is available as text file from Nalion, please ask via our chatspike channel or per PM to Nalion for the time being. We are working on a more permanent solution to provide this information.

The chatroom #Loranna_RP on chatspike is probably the best and fastest way to get yourself informed about the RP, just ask the moderators and long-time players there if you need any information. They will gladly help you. It is also very advisable to read up on the most recent posts and threads to become a grasp of what is happening right now in the RP. This will significantly help you in finding a way to join the action and will reduce the probabiliy of mistakes.

2. Reading and catching up on the RP:

We're a dedicated lot of players, and we love this RP. This means we put a lot of effort in our posts, do a lot of planning and discussing to create our plotlines. This requires time and dedication. And we require this of you as well. This means, take your time to read the posts of the other players and take the time to catch up on the plot if it progressed while you were away. This simplifies your rejoin into the action. It is also a sign of respect to the other players. If you don't have the time to read their posts, why should they bother with yours, then?

Again, please let me repeat this, for it is very important. If you are not able or willing to put time and at least reasonable effort in this RP, think again whether you want to join this RP or not.

3. Gathering information

Gather information about the RP, be it asking in chat, by reading older posts and getting up to date on the history or by asking via PM. No-one can know everything, sure, but everyone can ask about what happened. We're glad to assist! Again, this can not be done without some interest in the ongoings in the RP, effort and a good bit of dedication.

4. Roleplaying

Roleplaying doesn't just involve making your character say something (in-character chat). It also has a descriptive element. Motions and emotions of your character, worries, joys, mimics, movements... we want to see them! Describe how your character acts, this gives you a better grasp of your character and will help your fellow players build up a relationship to your character. It's not only action and big fights we have here in this RP, there is a major social aspect to it as well.

5. Posting

Try to take your time to post. Yes, we are aware that there are hectic scenes, like in big combats, where some things move faster, but is it in general a good idea to look over your post again to check it. Yes, we know it sounds stupid and obvious, but please care about spelling, punctuation and grammar. They are not just things you learned in school once to forget afterwards. We are no decryption experts. Those grammar rules have their meaning, and there are tools out there to help you(word spell checker for example). Again, the chat is a perfect way to ask for
time and coordinate with other players if you have problems.

6. Character control / multiple characters

Once more, about controlling characters that belong to other players: You cannot control a character that is not your own (with a few exceptions, like having talked to the player of the character beforehand). This means most of the time the following:

* In combat, you can only try to attack another character, but whether you hit him or how much damage is inflicted is up to the player of the character, and only him/her.

* This applies to healing or helping the character as well; feel free to try and offer help to a character, but let the other player describe the effects of the healing/helping.

* Especially in combat, you have to work closely with the other players, the chatroom is the best and easiest method to discuss these things.

Another thing related to this topic is referring or speaking to other characters whose players are not online. If possible, try to avoid involving characters when their player is not present. It ties down your character while waiting for the other player to come back, and you don't know whether the respective player has other plans when he is back.

Additionally, avoid generating scenes where you involve a character, affect him with an action and finish the action before the player can react (stealing, attacking, casting spells or similar actions). Example: No running up to someone, rob him and run away to safety all in one post. This is a no go.

Controlling multiple characters. We have no written limits on how many characters you may control; the limit is you. In general, it is very advisable that you stick to one character when you are new to RPing. When creating a character, it is VERY important that you consider your character carefully. Again, this has something to do with effort and dedication. It is generally a bad sign if you join up, post a couple of posts and then say you are bored with this character and make a new one. Other players might get annoyed greeting and introducing their characters to a new character when it is obvious that this character will not last long because the player gets bored with the new character. This RP is a social RP as well, and it is very difficult to socialize with a character that is badly played, where you can see by the style of writing that the player is already bored with the character and will throw him away at the next opportunity. RPing is all about characters and your character is your "representative" in this RP, your voice, your arm, your mind. Please take this into account when creating and playing your character.

As a general rule of thumb, use only one character until you feel comfortable with him, can control him, have fun with him and the character is established in the RP. The rest will run automatically after a while when you get more confident and experienced in RPing.

7. Secret plans

Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them. Examples: Your character suddenly remembers that he has a castles all over Tamriel and calls in troops to help. Or: Your character suddenly reveals he is a spy of the Emperor and knows everything.

8. Ingame consequences of character actions:

Morrowind the game was rather lenient when it came to direct consequences after a character's action. This is not the case in our RP. There are laws and local customs, and there are guards and other authorities that are there to enforce them. So, starting tavern brawls, stealing, murdering, open assault and all other related actions are very likely to be persecuted and punished (this can go up from your character ending up in jail, being banished or to be executed). This doesn't mean that there are no murders or thefts in the RP, but it does mean that if you do that, be aware of the consequences your character will have to deal with.

9. Additional helpful information:

Please make sure that you read the following posts of Allerleirauh ((((//link here\\)))), dealing with some of the above mentioned rules, as well as the hints on character generation done by Loranna ((((//link here\\)))). Please take the above mentioned rules and information into careful consideration, they will help you in joining this RP quickly and are useful to avoid problems. And more importantly: act according to them!

** Not following the above advice will only result in two things: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone else as if it did not happen and/or you are asked to leave the RP. This is obviously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them and act according to the rules mentioned above. **
Thank you, and have fun!

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NEW!!!

===

Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855 before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also, http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.

To help you get up to speed, here is http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: She will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.

===

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From there, type /join #Loranna_RP

You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

IMPORTANT: WE HAVE JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW SUN'S HEIGHT IN THE RP (i.e., July)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Shardie/mapofmorrowind2.jpg is a map provided by Shardie showing the current division of territory between the forces loyal to the crown and the rebels in Morrowind, pre-attack on Ald Raathim.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Shardie/MorrowindMap.jpg are the current borders, post-attack. Note; this map is a work-in-progress.

Summary for Loranna: Loranna is in Ald Raathim, having spoken with Magister Zadion as she intended, and getting a chance to meet the former vampire turned human vampire hunter, Morvath Pisquine. Despite having come to request permission to search the castle, Morvath left without doing so, differences of opinion with the Duchess regarding the use of torture on vampires; Loranna fears she has not seen the last of the quiet vampire hunter, however.

Meanwhile, Zadion has related horrific news; Tel Dresori, domain of Dres Minsero, has been taken over by vampires, who openly rule the land. Minsero himself, an apparent pawn of the vampires, has disappeared, and Loranna plans on asking her friends to help mount a rescue and destroy mission to take Tel Dresori back for the living and save those not yet fallen.

Gram Pyrel, on the other hand, has completed the mission to find Sivartus's grandfather's hidden study, and hopefully in the process discover a usable land route for Ald Raathim. He is currently hanging out with an odd Khajiit woman the party found on the way.

And Loranna the player is learning how to count wink.gif

Summary for Reeds: Reeds is, like the last two threads, working in his store.

Summary for Valerius: After pursueing someone who wasn't who he thought he was, Valerius is wandering the streets of Ald Raathim.

OOC: Summary

Dar'Tessir, male Suthay-Raht Nightblade is in the Nymph & Noggin, listening to and, in his mind, speculating about the rumors that someone or something is hunting children in Ald Raathim.

Posted by: Xyber02 Jan 30 2006, 07:09 PM

Summary: Anya has just finished hunting down and killing a vampire that had been feeding off of children with another. Unfortunately, the second vampire escaped. She is now heading to the castle, weary from a bout of anger, to clean up and report to Loranna.

Anya sat in the bath, scrubbing away the last of the blood. The nice thing about armor was it helped to keep her cleaner, unfortunately, she had only worn her cloak. When she was clean, she laid back, and waited for her clothes to be returned. Her mind reeled from the accusations, more than she thought possible.

She smiled when the servant returned her clothes. Drying off and getting dressed, she made her way to Loranna.

Summary for Erenius:

After giving the books he hurriedly shoved into his satchel while the others pilfered the place as well for items of interest for Sivartus, he went upstairs to grab a fresh change of clothes, his previous set having been ruined due to the lightning that knocked him across the room at that cave. Erenius is sitting alone at a table, as usual, ponderring the cave, nursing a strong drink, and his back.

Anya arrives soon after Magister Zadion takes his leave. A tired-looking Loranna admits the Bosmer vampiress, flashing a strained smile and welcoming her in.

"Hello Anya; your timing is excellent," she says, motioning for Anya to sit down. "What have you to report, dear?"

Anya sat down, "Well, I'd like to submit a semi-successful mission report."

She went over what occured that evening, glossing over certian details, such as the time between the tracking, and what exactly occured during the fight. She did go in length how he seemed to be working with another.

She paused for a moment, then spoke up frowning, "There were children there, Loranna. All of them dead. I'm sure the fire got to the bodies before anyone else could. And I- I let the other get away."

Posted by: syronj Jan 30 2006, 07:32 PM

Shaka was wandering near the tent-city within Ald Raathim. The campfires glowed like an echo of the constellations strewn overhead. At the worst of the city walls' breaches, warcrabs stood guard; most with only limited mobility, if that.

He debated to himself how the city would house its internal refugees; would they have to build with wood, as stone would probably be more expensive and harder to procure?

Shaka couldn't get the news he had read on the Nymph's signboard out of his head. Children disappearing, being butchered . . . . It was depraved.

Their short trip to the mage's lair had shown them some encouraging possibilities, though. Shaka could almost picture a web of hidden trails helping to supply Ald Raathim during this war. Maybe they could build underground or heavily camouflaged supply depots, guard shacks, field hospitals along the way of this network too. Not his call.

Loranna listens in silence, thinking about her recent meeting with Morvath, and about sucked-dry corpses of children - and for a brief second, of the former Void Vampire, Bosriel. It takes her several long moments to speak again, and when she does, her voice and her expression reflect a blend of grief, anger, and weariness to break one's heart.

" ... I have even worse news, I fear," she tells Anya. "I spoke with Magister Zadion and found out what's going on at Tel Dresori. It's been almost completely overrun by vampires. He spoke of Dres Minsero being under their control and attacking him, of vampired children chasing him in the streets, of the few remaining living folk huddled in fear ..."

I didnt get a chance to write in my diary last night, the party I was at was so nice, I slept in! Anyway, I heard Llana and her new patrons are up to nasty things... why would they want her to make a copy of the Carmoran Usurper when they could easily buy it from a shop? Faryon was in Vivec, and is preparing for his World Tour to drum up support for the Fledgiling Alliance. Frist on his list, the Imperial City where he will butter up the hiers of the Diamond Throne, and then to Wayrest to sign a contract with the devil. Im finding life in Cheydinhal quite plesant, its cosmapolitan without that big city feel... Tomorrow, I go looking for houses for sale...

"Evening, Valerius. I couldn't sleep yet, just got back recently from scouting an area west of the city. . . . You know, seeing the warcrabs filling in at the wall makes me wonder how many more are still out there. If the rebel Alliance ever tries to take the city again, with a similar force, they'll probably succeed. We only have half the defenders we once had."

"There are trails in those woods that might have future possibilities, though. What if we built a network of trails, camouflaged, for transport on foot and by wagon?"

Shaka went on to outline some of the possibilities: underground guard posts, healers, couriers . . . . It would take a special kind of warrior to live and fight from tunnels for months to come, perhaps years. . . . .

"We can't let the vampires run rampent there," Loranna says. "There are people who need to be rescued, and we can't let the vampires have a whole city to claim as a safe haven." She sighs. "We're going to have to break their hold on it, somehow ..."

She pauses a moment, then changes the subject. "Morvath Pisquine introduced himself to me while Zadion and I were talking. He wanted to search the castle for traces of vampires. He's a more tragic figure than I realized at first; he's a former vampire himself - but he and I disagreed on the use of torture and so he left, though I think he might still be around Ald Raathim for a time. Be careful if you encounter him; he has no mercy left for vampires. Not even the ones trying to resist becoming monsters."

Summary

Nalion

Nalion, a Breton mage in his mid-thirties, currently stays at Ald Raathim after his visit to Firsthold. He recently discovered a book that gave some insights into contracts. He had been wounded in the battle of Ald Raathim, but he has mostly recovered. As a side effect of his fight in the battle, he seemed to have lost his ability to cast magick and has since tried to regain it. The last days, the mage had been practicing magic again, almost similar as an apprentice.

Gistral

Gistral is a Redguard warrior, who often acts as a scout, hailing from Lainlyn in Hammerfell. In aid to Ald Raathim, he has brought a few Redguard companions to help rebuild and defend the city. He has been engaged in building and organizing a temporary tent village and has recently participated scouting a possible path to bring in goods and supplies to Ald Raathim secretly and without the enemy noticing. He is currently out in the woods, scouting this prospective route.

Dana

Dana is a female Redguard bard and healer, who had joined Gistral when he set out to help Ald Raathim. She has taken up healing duties first, then she helped as best as she could in the reconstruction. During her spare time, she likes to look after children while their parents are out working, singing songs for them and telling stories.

"Difficult to root out," agreed Valerius, "And difficult to halt. If there are any cave networks in the area, we would have a head start, and if what you say about the trails is right, we could conceivably set up dozens of alternate routes through the forest."

"The thing is where to begin, and how to keep something like this away from redorans while its under construction."

Loranna's eyes narrow a little.

" ... And I know you're not a child-killer, Anya. You don't need to prove it." Loranna holds out her hand to Anya, her expression softening into a small smile.

"Yes. . . . The odd thing about this is that I'm not suited for this kind of combat; I prefer to fight above ground. All we can do is pass the idea along, maybe to the Imperials in town as well as Loranna and her staff. Loranna first, but she's swamped these days as it is."

"Well, thanks for the talk, Valerius."

After the discussion with Valerius, it occurred to Shaka that he was thinking in too grandiose terms. Ald Raathim would be lucky to get one or two trails for supply, not underground forts or cities. But possibly they would find a few more caves, if nothing else, in the months ahead.

QUOTE(Loranna @ Jan 30 2006, 07:20 PM)

Loranna's eyes narrow a little.

"No one's going to Tel Dresori alone, Anya," she says.  "This is too big for any one of us to handle; we need to organize a group to go there."

" ... And I know you're not a child-killer, Anya.  You don't need to prove it."  Loranna holds out her hand to Anya, her expression softening into a small smile.

*

Anya's eyes shifted for a moment, then her face relaxed and she took Loranna's hand, "I know Loranna- it's just, I don't know. You know how I feel. It was hard, having him accusing me of being no better."

"I know, dear, I know," Loranna says, squeezing Anya's hand reassuringly. "Allie warned me about this before; war taxes everyone's morals, makes even good people do terrible things."

Her expression becomes haunted as she says "Tel Dresori may well prove that point to all of us ..." Then, she sighs and shakes her head.

"The fact that you can feel horror at the sight of the dead children tells me you're not a monster," she says quietly to Anya.

She pauses. "Oh ... uh, the castle should be searched for vampires as well. Morvath was particularly worried there'd be a certain clan waiting for my unborn child ..." She tries to smile, but worry and weariness shine through her eyes.

OOC summary

Reichi Sari has returned from helping Sivartus find his Granfather's study, and has learned of the rumors about something hunting Ald Raathim's children, and how many were found dead in a Smithery.

----

Reichi frowned at the news, leaning back in his chair at the Nymph and Noggin. Killing children? Not only vile, but below one's skills, hunting and killing a child was akin to hunting and killing a scrib. A blighted scrib missing half its legs. There was no skill involved. But perhaps, that might give him insight into who or what did it. Either they lacked the skill to kill an adult, liked killing children, or it was a predator and needed a easy meal. Something that presented no risk to the predator.

He took a swig of his drink. Furthermore, unless said killer was a clutz, something caused that fire besides it. Hrrmm...

Erenius finds himself on the docks, double checking the supplies in the wharehouse, whatwith there being little in the city to do at the time, his men busy throught manning the walls or aiding the rubble-clearing teams in cleaning the city.

The warehouses were fine, with nothing moved or missing, from what he could tell. However, leaving the buildings, he noticed a new vessel on the pier, one which he hadnt brought with him when he and his people arrived from Solstheim.

Llana slowly walked along the pier. Although she had business with the twins, and a reliable one at that, she had little else to do. The coin in her pocket was getting heavier, and she decided it might be worth some time to find a tasty meal. She looked around, wondering if there were any food stalls in the area... and decided to ask the next creature she saw...

"Well, I suppose I could scour the castle. That should make it easy, consider there aren't many open spaces. And of course I'll let you know of what happens."

Anya stood up, hesitating for a moment as a flash of worry crossed her face. She quickly regained composure, and left the room. She began by finding a blueprint of the castle.

Isidor, male nord, is running his tavern. While he knows that running the tavern is essential, and that he's the only one that can do it, he's getting a little bit antsy, and he wants to help the war. Especially after the discovery of the dead children.

Ingmar, Isidor's brother, is drinking in his brother's tavern. Like Isidor, he too is getting antsy, but also on his mind is a certain khajiit he keeps seeing around Ald Raathim ...

Tsei, argonian mage, is helping to rebuild Ald Raathim.

Llana gave Erenius a look up and down with her indifferent look, and came to the decision she would not get any business from him, 'Llana, document authenticator... now which way is that inn?' she said her eyes moving away and looking down the street, she could be heard saying beneth her breath, 'what do you mean no fresh fish, this town is on the god darn sea!' then much louder, 'I came over the hills to get here, and havent had a decent meal since. 'Oh, I could make such copies, but copying like that is quite expensive... a hundred maps, that would cost over 10,000 septims. Leaving Anya to work with Kallen on looking over the castle, Loranna sighs "Almost night; all right, we go down, talk to our friends for a while, then get some rest. I can't remember if I woke before or after dawn this morning ..."

Taking up her staff, Loranna quietly leaves the castle, sheathed in the magic of her wedding ring and bracelet; she suddenly felt like getting a bird's eye look at how her city was doing. Silently, she floats through the air, the dimming light of the early dusk shining through her invisible form.

... The city looks as tired and as worried as I feel ... Loranna laments as she soars overhead, passing over the tent town on her way to the docks below, she could see people hurrying about, an air of fear and baffled fury palpable to Loranna. Nine, please let my turning Morvath away not have been a mistake ...

Alighting just aroun the corner of the tavern, out of sight, Loranna cancels the power of her enchanted jewelry and walks into the Nymph and Noggin, the dismay in her eyes belying the smile she offers to the patrons who hail her entrence.

Ald Raathim, the Nymph and Noggin common room

Nalion sat at a table, smiling to a barmaid who had just brought him a piece of guar steak. It lacked some of the usual spicy flavour and was of a bit less quality than one would have suspected - the war and the battle had taken its toll - but it was still nourishing and tasted well.
With it went some wine, not of Loranna's usual Wayrestian vintage, but a common local sort. All in all, a satisfying meal.
The mage was indeed hungry, he had spent the day practicing at the beach. His ability to cast magic had begun to come back and he was making progress, reason for him to be of a good mood this day, despite of the problems Ald Raathim and the group was facing. However, in his mind, he still turned ideas of how to adress these problems around.

Seeing Loranna enter, he waved her to come over and take a seat at his table, ordering a glass of wine for her.

Slyvos has his head down on the table he was sitting at earlier when he gave the journal to Sivartus, feeling exhausted himself from all this. Several days without sleep and nothing but restore fatigue potions was not good for his health.

As Loranna entered though, he could hear the opening of the door enough that he was willing to put his head up to see who it was. He gave a small smile to no one in particular as he saw Loranna, hopeing she might notice him and talk, if his wife wasn't too busy at the moment. However, if she was hear for a different reason, he wouldn't interfere for now.

'A map west of the city? Oh yeah, this city is under siege, isnt it,' she noticed a wealthy looking woman walk in, and her eyes immediatly started to trace where she was going, yet she continued, 'Well, I currently have my workshop on the Senshal Rose out in the Harbour, so come by with the original and I will see what I can do...' she told Erenius without taking her eyes off the woman, 'who is she? Some sort of noble... I take it...'

Shaka was looking out over the harbor. The ballista and catapult troops were beginning to light the night's torches.

Finally he turned and decided to go back to the tavern. Shaka arrived some minutes after Loranna's invisible flight, and entered the Nymph taproom to find more patrons than he had expected.

Llana just nodded and continued to look. Others had entered the room... 'Dutchess, eh? Anyway, I want my Fish Dish.' she stood and walked to the counter, asking the barman to get her some fish, fried in butter and flour served with lemon. Returning to her table, to wait for her fish, she looked around the room at the other patrions, each one had a septim sign over thier head... some big, some small... she would have to get into the good books of the dutchess. But she was happy. In reality, printing such a map anywhere else in Tarmiel would cost only a thousand septims... but Erenius didnt know that...

Nalion nodded thankfully towards Loranna's efforts of healing.
"I have made progress. I still feel like an apprentice, but I think I can manage. At least, I do not feel helpless anymore.", the mage said, helping himself to another bite of steak.
Nalion listened carefully to Loranna's latest news, his gaze once again becoming concerned. Meanwhile, Loranna's guar steak also had arrived.

"So we have a vampire problem? I have heard about the fire in the smithy. And Tel Dresori is infested? This is grave news, and I am saddened about Dres Minsero. I found him to be a man to be trusted.", Nalion commented. "At least, it seems I do not have to worry about Zadion's loyalty. I still hope he has information about Scourg Barrow, and if I can help to clear the situation in Tel Dresori in return, I will gladly be of assistance."

Turning to Slyvos for a brief moment, he said openly.
"It's good to see you come out more, Slyvos. Loranna needs your help now more than ever." His gaze towards the Khajiit told it clearly.
"You are the Duke of Ald Raathim, whether you like it or not. You have a resposibility, as husband and noble of this city. Act accordingly."

"I talked with Kallen and prepped some things for you to take over, love ... but right now, I'm thinking what I really need is someone to work with Anya in organizing our anti-vampire measures. We'll work on showing you how to make small talk with diplomats afterward."

She digs into her steak with relish, adding "Speaking with the ArchMagister is going to be interesting, though. I hope he doesn't look down on non Mage Guild magic users too much ..."

Shaka, seeing that Loranna was talking to Nalion and her husband, decided not to attempt to cut in. He ordered a shot of flin and a beer, and carried them over to a table.

Who's the new woodelf? he wondered. She was looking at the other patrons the way they were looking at their food as it was served. Another grifter, trying to earn some septims from wartime?

Shaka hoped that he would run across Telera someday soon, as he still felt he should apologize for exasperating her somehow, though it was nearly a week ago.

Reichi had managed to catch this sentence, and raised a eyebrow left his table. It had been easy to hear, well, easy when one had a item like the Dagger of Senses. "Tel Dresori is infested with Vampires?" he asked in a voice only slightly louder than a whisper once he reached the table. "What is this, Balmora 2: The Vampires Strike back?"

*

"This is more like Balmora Delux, from what I understand," Loranna says, looking up at Reichi. "And hello oh handsome white-haired one; the bards have told me of a mer matching your description and I have fain longed to meet you."

She grins. "Hello again Reichi; been keeping busy?"

Posted by: Nalion Jan 30 2006, 10:49 PM

Nalion nodded.
"I would like to speak with Zadion again, too. He seemed pretty helpful to non-guild members when I met him.", the mage said. "I am confident that this hasn't changed much."
Looking at Reichi, he waved to the barmaid again to brin the Dunmer the drink he desired.
"Good to see you, Reichi, you have made yourselves scarce these days. I hope you are well, and I think there will be tasks that may be to your liking in the near future."

Posted by: Aki Jan 30 2006, 10:57 PM

"But of my course, fair lady," Reichi grinned back. "Plenty to keep busy with, afterall, building, demolishing, carrying, opening, closing. Its almost comforting to know someone's worse of than us.

Anya had more or less learned the castle's layout, and had made a few plan of actions with Kallen, before getting bored, and a little hungry.

She made her way to the Nymph & Noggin, refreshed with the night air. She made a note to head to the forest later that night.

Feeling a little merrier now that she had some time to shift her mind, she walked through the door. Anya found that the days tended to make her more on edge.

Spying on a bosmer gal, she laughed. Taking a seat across from her, she greeted Llana, "I don't see to many other bosmer in the town, mostly dunmer, nords, khajiits, and argonians. What brings you all the way to Morrowind?"

Slyvos nodded to Reichi, mainly to acknowledge his presence, since he didn't really know the werewolf very well, save those few things he had glanced from his head back during the Parade.

He then turned back to Loranna, sighing a bit. "so, I'd ask what's going on a bit more dear, but, well, I think I better go store a few things somewhere safe before I forget I even have them with me. See you soon." He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss, glancing to Nalion with a nod, and getting out of his seat to leave. hate to leave like this, but if I don't put these notes away somewhere safe, never know when I might need to use fire spells in a moment's notice and end up setting something on fire... oh, and note to self, make sure to keep my schedule open...

"Ah. The war has opened plenty of jobs for those that are willing to live in a dangerous spot." Anya smiled, her fangs all but hidden from view, "Anya, just Anya, security consultant for the Duchess."

Anya sniffed, and looked at the fish, "That smells delicious, you made a lovely choice. So, what else do you do besides authenticating documents? I haven't met a bosmer yet that actually did only what they said they did, myself included."

"We can speak to Zadion, yes, but it is also important that you rest enough. You have seen what happened to Kethiah when she strained herself too much. Delegate your tasks. Slyvos is here, you have Kallen, I can help if you need me. You are duchess, but also a mother. It's time to get acustomed to the idea of having to care for a child intensively. Later on, you will not be able to just run around fighting enemies, but you have to care about a newborn child. Best to make the transition over a longer time. It is better for you, and better for those that need to take over some of your tasks."
Nalion's voice was serious, he obviously cared about Loranna and her child. The mage nodded as if to emphasize his point, then took a sip from his wine.

"So I see," Loranna says, thinking of Harmann and the lesson of the lily for a moment. But then, who was to say that lesson was for everyone? Besides, it was good to see Anya relaxed and happy ...

"Well, it's getting late," Loranna says, stifling a yawn. "And people keep insisting I get some rest ... if there isn't anything else you two want to talk about ...?"

Erenius leaves his room for the place Sivartus was calling his own in the city. As he reaches the room, he finds it unlocked, suprisingly. Erenius slowly creeps towards the nightstand near the bed, where two sheets of paper were, one was the map, the other blank.

On the blank sheet, Erenius wrote:

Sivartus,

I apologize for the theft of the map. I'm having copies of it made. If you object, find me quickly, same if you wish the original copy back.

Signed,
Erenius

He sets the note back down on the nightstand after rereading it and setting off back to the hallway, returning the candle to his room and then heading downstairs, for a bite to eat.

Valerius finished his drink and looked around the room. There were people he had seen in Ald Raathim during the battle, and some who weren't. Seeing another Imperial, Erenius, he thought his name was, he decided to begin his search there.

"Hello Erenius," Valerius asked as he sat down across from him, "I'm getting a group together to do some work west of here, would you care to join me?"

Posted by: FireMaster Jan 31 2006, 06:39 PM

Erenius smiles, knowing of the man, yet not knowing him personally.

"Please, take a seat," Erenius says, gesturing to the empty chair opposite him at the table. "As for who I am, yes, I am Erenius. I was not, however, here during the siege. I do truley wish I was, mayhaps fourty soldiers could have turned the tide and prevented their entrance to the city. Shame really, would have loved to protect this place."

"But enough musings on my part, Valerius," Erenius replies, gesturing for a pair of drinks to be brought about. "I certainly would. Havent had a real fight since I rescued Nalion from the Reavers in Skyrim, and then ran into those hunters with the main group not long afterwards."

"Good," Valerius says, "so can I count on you in a day or two when we prepare to leave? Also, spread the word. If you know of anyone who would want to come, feel free to tell them."

Valerius made the rounds in the tavern, asking everyone he recognized (as well as a few he didn't), if they wished to join in the endeavor.

Posted by: FireMaster Jan 31 2006, 06:49 PM

"I shall," Erenius says, finishing his drink and leaving the tavern to walk the city for a bit and sort things over.

'My men are restless, and it might be nice to take the load off the keepers for a few days at the Nymph and Noggin,' Erenius thinks to himself as he left.

Ten thousand Septims was too much, Erenius concluded, his walk also finished. Also, he realized that one hundred copies would be too many, just a fifth of it would be enough in all likelyhood, what with ten to fifteen being distributed up front, and additional ones being made as replacements if needed. That decided, Erenius heads to the docks, checking to see if Llana was on the Senchel Rose.

And she was, sitting on the deck of the ship, fishing rod in hand, grumbling about the lack of good perch in these waters... her eats pricked, and she turned to look at Erenius, 'Here to do business, are we?' she pulled in her line and placed it on the deck, 'It seems you cant buy a good fish in this town, Welcome, how may we serve you today?'

'You would be surprised... Most of the 10,000 dollars I was planning to charge you was for the creation of the engraving to go into the printing machine. Without the engravement, I cant print a thing. Ususally this would not cost much, but with the price of Copper at record highs, Im afraid I cannot do engraving for any less than 5000 septims. With that request, Erenius walks about the deck calmly, saddened by the request of haste being turned down. Erenius then walks to the opposite end of the vessel's sunken deck and brandishes his blade, honing his skill, using the wooden post used to hold the gangway in place as his target.

Telera was floating a meter over the stream that ran to Shaka’s yurt, working on the gauntlet she had used in place of her arm. The silver blades it usually stored flitted around her, occasionally catching. Other pieces of her armory, that were too cumbersome to be carried around when not in use, hung around her.

Finishing with that gauntlet she held it up for a second to the lantern she held. Placing it with the others she spotted Shaka heading to his yurt. Calling the blades back into their slots in the gauntlet she stuffed her things into a rucksack and touched down lightly on the ground before running after Shaka.

She ran up to him threw her arms around him before he could welcome her. And, after a brief flurry of kisses, she pushed away and looked down at the ground, abashed, “I’m sorry I went off on you like that yesterday, Shaka. It wasn’t anything you said. I just, I wasn’t feeling myself is all.”

Shaka lovingly raised Telera's chin up. "If only I could return those kisses, sweetheart. . . . Maybe someday. And I should also apologize. I hit you with too much, telling you of Maranda's death and then trying to be romantic as if nothing was wrong. Should have backed off and let you mourn."

He embraced the Dunmer/Nord cross, then sat cross-legged on the ground, pulling her down to sit also. "Let's start over then. . . . What did you work on today?"

Telera avoided the mention of Shaka’s wish to change race, she wasn’t sure how she would handle that when it came time.

“Clearing some rubble. There was some trouble earlier today in town,” Telera said, “A barn burned down along with the ruins of the mage’s guild. There was apparently a dog and a female Dunmer seen around both shortly before they caught. The guild wasn’t bad. It pretty much just crumbled in enough now that no one can get themselves wedged in it for it to fall in on them. The barn though…

“There were corpses in the barn. Dead before the fire it appeared from their position and the lack of survivors. They were only little and-” She shook her head, this topic wasn’t better now that she thought of it. “I’ve been doing clean-up there. How about yourself?”

‘I had a bad day, too,’ the dagger stated. ‘I didn’t get to supply any of those corpses.’

"By the gods . . . So that was where they found the childrens' bodies. There were some early reports posted outside the Nymph, but they were probably notifying the families first. Monstrous. . . . "

"Some of us scouted west lately, found the mage lair of Sivartus' grandfather. Slyvos and others are probably still sorting through the journals and books from it. Tel, there was a Storm Atronach guarding the grandfather's corpse."

"It didn't sink in for me until after we had defeated it; it was a permanent summons, probably. Standing there with eternal patience for years, until we came along. Sivartus' grandfather was working on permanent summoning when he died."

Shaka didn't want to start brooding again over the children, not while sitting with a loved one.

"I'll make sure to volunteer to hunt for the monsters who did this. Vampires, I wonder, or daedra worshippers, or what?"

Much of the gardens around them was winding down for the year; it was past midsummer. Some flowers were going to hang on until Autumn, of course.

“So we might have a way to summon some guards to shore up defenses then, Telera said, forcing cheeriness. “If the mages can puzzle everything out of course.”

“Vampires,” Telera said, sure of the answer. “Daedra worshippers don’t have any reason to exclusively kill children and werewolves or animals making that their den would have eaten the bodies. Vampires on the other hand, don’t have a use for the bodies. And they’re predators, they’ll target the weak and the sick, and there isn’t much weaker than a child alone.

“A female Dunmer vampire in town,” Telera stated, slowly as she tried to think. “But she was walking in the sun, so she has to have enough magic at her disposal to survive the light. I don’t know why dogs would be present at both; maybe scavenging from the corpses the vampires had drained and just unlucky to be at the guild?

"Anyway, I have to be getting back into town now, check if anything new is posted at the Noggin. Maybe I'll poke around after dark and see if I can find anything moving about that shouldn’t be.”

"I'll come along," said Shaka. "I could use the company." He left the Spear and the Cuirass in the yurt's storage for now.

I wonder how much to tell her about Goranthir/Geht, he wondered. Rescuing Geht was a problem for another day, but not one that could be put off forever.

“Good to know,” Telera said, sounding relieved and relaxing a bit against Kiseena. She hadn’t realized she was still tensed, “I was worried you didn’t want me here.”

“How did you meet Anya?” Telera asked Kiseena, “Not to pry or anything, but I, I guess I am prying.”

"Kiseena bumped into friend Anya one night," she murmured. "Somehow Kiseena and Anya got to talking, and.."

She let out a breath, gently looking up at Telera. "Kiseena is sorry she has been distant to Telera," the khajiit said quietly. "Anya is Kiseena's first... true friend. Kiseena was afraid Anya would... forget Kiseena, when Telera returned to Anya's life."

“Why would she forget anyone for my sake?” Telera said, looking confused. “It’s not like I would try to steal her away from you or anything like that.”

‘Try that sometime, it will be therapeutic.’ the dagger advised

Telera shrugged it off, “I’ll be your friend too, if you’d like.”

“Just got to talking? Sounds much smoother than how I met Anya,” Telera said with a giggle. “I met her before then, but I really started talking to her and getting to know her when she was helping me adjust to some …changes in my life.”

“Oh, they’ve turned out well enough. Just were a bit shocking when they happened,” Telera said. “One thing that was definitely positive about it was that I got my arm back. I had lost it to an Azurite’s winged twilight during the Blue Dawn. For the other things that changed… well, let me show you.”

Telera moved back to the seat opposite Kiseena and pulled out a pauldron, equipping it, she added, “It was a bit of a large change then and this is just the illusion I used before to hide my lack of an arm” then she activated the enchantment.

A green mist spread over Telera’s features as she sat there. Her female features were replaced by masculine and her left sleeve disappeared under the enchantment. She removed the pauldron again, “This is how you would have known me, had you met me a year ago, less than that even. You would have called me Teleran.”

“Yes,” Telera said, “Was embarrassingly off-balance for a while due to certain acquisitions that shifted my center of balance. Thankfully, I’m fairly good at adapting to new forms thanks to some experience with that beforehand with the golem crown. Anya helped me out a lot in that period. Thanks to her I’m as good a fighter as I was before, perhaps better.”

“As to the arm, yes I was missing it, though I was able to find methods to make up for that lack due to liberal application of telekinesis and empty pieces of armor.”

“I’m still not quite sure what to make of the changes myself,” Telera moved back to Kiseena’s side, neglecting to dispel the illusion. “And this is more than half a year in. Don’t worry too much about it. Shouldn’t come up, but I figured you should know since we’re going to be seeing more of each other.”

Kiseena smiled gently, cuddling up between Telera and Anya. She looks between them, and her cheeks fluff from the hidden blush beneath. "Friend Shaka is a very lucky argonian indeed," she mewed.

Posted by: syronj Feb 1 2006, 10:41 AM

Shaka tells himself that each day, he thought wryly; he had just been able to hear the last sentence of Kiseena's.

He stood at the bar while ordering. His life wasn't as simple as that, though; good fortune only ran so far. When Telera had fallen for Anya a year before, the logical thing for Shaka to do might have been to bow out gracefully. After all, as an Argonian he wasn't physically compatible with either softskin. But he hadn't wanted to lose the woodelf, and still didn't.

Shaka instead had found his respect for Tel deepening into more. Then he had somehow kept the loyalties of both women, even during his futile six months' sojourn in Black Marsh.

Looking at Kiseena gave him a feeling of deja vu; now he knew a little of what Ahnassi must have felt, decades ago in Pelagiad when she had seen a green as grass would-be adventurer, Shaka, walk into the tavern. All the youth and energy in the world, taken for granted. . . .

Anya and Tel might be good for her, give her something to live for beyond the next hit of skooma and the next theft. But she was a further complication in Shaka's life. On the other claw, if the Duchess and everyone else in town were trying to keep too many balls in the air these days, who was he to complain? Shaka would have to keep living a day at a time, and try to pull his weight when it came to defending Daruhn.

There was a tailor shop who could provide them with what they needed and pretty quickly too with ample gold expenditure.

Then the two Khajiit met with Kallen, discussed their plans, and went to the Nymph and Noggin for mid-day drinks.

Kallen went to see Loranna, Duchess of Ald Raathim.

True to her promise, Loranna had slept in this morning, awakening a couple of hours after dawn instead of just before or dawn. She went about her daily business in a more relaxed fashion, trying to take things easy as Nalion had encouraged.

Kallen found her in the herb garden, taking a break; she smiled at her seneshal and asked "Hello dear; what is it?"

Where they once heard a beautiful, flowing melody, they now can only think to themselves 'that musician was a bit flat in the second measure' or 'the drumbeat was slightly ahead during the second stanza'. Knowledge has a bad habit of transforming the beautiful into something cold and harsh. Personally, I enjoy watching the flow of combat in the arena for what it is, a fine display of skill. Slashes thought for a moment before responding. "I have never thought of combat that way, but I was raised to be a soldier in Argonia. My father was an officer, and from an early age I learned combat. And as all our people raised in teh marsh, I learned to hunt. The three of them continued to talk, discussing details about the planned temple and other things a Duchess should hear from her Spymasters. By the time they were done, Loranna's mind was eased a little bit more, and the bottle of Wayrest wine was somehow in Alack's possession - though it was barely one third full anyway.

Anya clutched the bloodied hole in her abdomin. She snarled angrily at her opponent, who had managed to blow to her torso, trying to gut her. She stood up wearily, swooning slightly from the gutshot.

Anya had taken her leave from Telera and Kiseena, leaving them to talk and/or cuddle, up to them, on some vague pretense. It was growing increasingly difficult to leave them alone, hungry as she was, with their two warm bodies pressed against her.

She had decided to leave and find a meal in the forest for the night. Her path had brought her near the refugee camp. She had largely avoided the camp, which is why she had probably missed them before. This time though, as she passed, the cold feeling started to grow, and her nose tingled with an odd scent. Anya spent the better part of the night moving back and forth, playing hot and cold. The other vampire undoubtedly felt her presence too, and this made it difficult to follow.

But now she had this vampire cornered, but she had underestimated her. The blow to her abdomin was a reminder that she shouldn't let her gift go to her head. But she had injured the vampire enough herself.

Anya whipped around as the vampire tried to cut her again, ending up behind the vampire. Swiftly, she bit down, her stomach knitting itself back together. That was enough to cause the vampire to sag from injuries.

Anya dropped her, and the vampire fell to her knees. She hissed violently, but was cut short as Anya jammed her clawed hands in her chest, ending her unlife. Anya frowned, muttering at the body, "Maybe I am like you..." Anya dragged the body to a secluded and torched the body to remove evidence. After she had cleaned up, Anya began walking back to the Nymph & Noggin, this was turnign out to be a better night than she thought.

*...The Nymph And Noggin, Osa's Room...after having eaten a filling meal Osa returns downstairs for a little after dinner drink...taking no more then a few sips her ears begin to hone in on the conversations around her...she quickly learns that the topic of the time seems to be the murder of some children, and the supposed burning of a barn which housed the bodies...stricken by the news Osa begins to try to intermingle with the crowd but in it's midst spots the Altmer she had spoke to in Firsthold...*

"Hello Alidon"

*...Alidon jumps at Osa's voice and whirls around quickly only letting out a sigh of relief when he realizes it's Osa...*

Alidon: "My word, I nearly jumped out of my skin...sorry about that I've been kind of on edge lately, you know since all that business in Firsthold"

"No need to apologize I understand completely, so what brings you to Ald Raathim ?"

Alidon: "I was trying to escape my nightmares, sadly I dont think I'll be able to do it here"

"Why ? The towns got everything you could possibly need...maybe you should see the Healer if your having trouble sleeping"

*...Alidon lets out a hearty boastful laugh...*

Alidon: "No I'm afraid that wont be nessecary, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself...besides this isn't a problem of the body, it's a problem of the mind"

*...Osa nods in agreeance...*

Alidon: "...if you were half as smart as you say you are you would leave like I am"

"Why would I leave I just got here?"

*...Alidon's attitude then changes dramatically, Osa then see's his serious side, the side most see when they think of Altmer...*

Alidon: "I say this not as a stranger but as someone who genuinely wants to help you: get out of this place, fast ! If the war doesn't kill you some of these unseen things will. I've seen alot in my time, beasts and Daedra, madmen and sorcerors and nothing compares to this...place"

"Something wrong Alidon?"

Alidon: "Do you remember our first talk...I told you of what happened in the Gardens?"

"Yes I remember, Lady Loranna saved Rinalla..."

*...Alidon's face then goes stern and cold...*

Alidon: "Your heard me but you weren't listening. You claimed to have treked through Skyrim, correct?"

"Yes, thats right"

Alidon: "Then prehaps you've heard of the Trail of Tears?"

"Rumors and heresy mostly...nothing I could trust"

Alidon: "Then prehaps you should do your homework, ask around"

*...Alidon then takes a mighty drink of the Sujamma bottle he's drinking and sits it down with a 'thunk'...he then stands up and readies himself to leave...*

"Leaving already?"

Alidon: "Yes and you should too...this place gives me the chills, like the first time you walk into a tomb, there's something about this place or one of these people that tugs at my very being, this is a place of much heartbreak, and you'd be wise to leave to...so I bid you farewell scholar Osa and wish you the best of luck, I fear you'll need"

*...Alidon then excuses himself and walks out the door, leaving Osa puzzled...*

"Sounds good, friend." Reeds said as they turned to head for the Nymph and Noggin.

They arrived, ordered drinks, and sat down. "Now then, where to start?"

Reeds and Slashes finished their conversation, and Reeds returned to his shop.

Isidor walked up to Kethiah's room, on his break, to see how she was, while Ingmar entered the bar for a drink.

Tsei entered as well, and got a drink.

The Senchal Rose

It was finished. twenty one copies of the map. She carefully took the top copy and placed it in her chest, and took the other copies and placed them in a satchel. She wondered if that nice young man was still there. She sighed, and made her way to the deck, and took a look around

Erenius turns and looks as Llana comes back from whereever she had gone on the ship to make the copies.

"Good evening, Llana. I take it the copies are ready?" Erenius says, greeting Llana as she came to view.

'Very much so,' she patted the satchel by her side, 'Now that is 6000 septims, thank you... you DO have the money with you? Because Im not handing over these maps till I get the money' but she did hand over the original, in one piece

If you need any more maps, I can print them up for you at a hundred septims a pop, and they shouldnt take very long to do ether,' she poured the purse of money into a resin sack, and returned the now empty purse to Erenius, 'Thank you, have a good night'

Llana decended into the bows of the ship, to her cabin, and placed the resin bag of gold safely under the floorboards. But after getting such a good catch from those maps, she decided it was time to celebrate. That Nymph and Noggin place had good fish last time she was there, now its time to try some more. With a hundred coin in her pocket, she made her way to the Tavern, then the Bar, and ordered grilled fish with lemon

Slyvos had been busy in the castle, storing his notes in his study for safe keeping, but finding that perfect spot to put them all was going to be a hassle. Luckily, he found a place by hiding them inbetween the pages of a copy of "mysticism". Perfect, as no one ever really read the books in here besides him, and occasionally Loranna when she needed something that she didn't have in her study.

He figured, he might as well hang around the Noggin for a while now, at least until Anya came around needing help with vampire slaying again. Sly entered the tavern with a tired look on his face, shaking himself off a bit before he sat down at the end of the bar. "I'll just have some flin, nothing more."

Llana noticed the Khajiit sit at the far end of the bar, and one look at him saw a septim sign over his head. She did think, for being in the middle of morrowind, there were FAR too many Khajiit or Argonians in this town... but this one looked, richer. She approched the affluent looking Khajiit and introduced herself, 'Good evening, kind sir, do you mind if I sit next to you? My name is Llana, and you?'

The person tending bar brought Slyvos his drink, and the khajiit took a slight sip from it. Not bad, wasn't going to cloud his judgement too much. Which was good, considering he needed his mind to be clear for most of what he does to work.

When the bosmer woman came up to him, he glanced her way, giving a small smile. "sure, be my guest. You know, I haven't really seen you around here before... by the way, I'm Slyvos."

He hid any suspicion in his voice that would have probably spilt through normally, on the count of he didn't want to sound too edgy. And trust me, he was edgy as could be lately.

'Well, a friend of mine told me there would be great oppitunities in my line of work over here, oh sorry, Im a Printer and Document Authenticator' she smiled, 'and she was right! I've already got one steady client, they're lending me thier ship as a workshop, also I just had Erenius over there get some maps printed off' she guestured towards Erenius 'so if you need anything printed off, or, well authenticated, you can come see me,' she smiled again

'Well, if you want one or two documents copies of the document written down, it would be best to just go with a scribe. However, if you want a mass publication to be released, then a printer is the person you need. Basicly, you have to etch out on a copper plate the page you want printed, then you ink it up, and print it on a piece of paper. The etching is time consuming and expensive, but once its done, an unlimited amount of the document can be produced at a much lower price than a scribe, and at a much faster pace' she took a breath, 'Printing Presses are not really that rare, but the one I have is extremly rare, a portable one, with a feather enchantment apon it. Hence, I can take it with me to print off anywhere, anytime... as long as there is enough room'

On the other, this would be a perfect spot for an ambush. Although this study you speak of intrigues me, how far of a walk is it from here, and could it be used as an outpost of sorts to run patrols out of?"

He put his hand to his chin, as if in deep thought for a moment. "interesting... I'll keep that in mind, if I ever need something published like that. Would prove to be very, very useful."

He took another swig from his flin, sighing a back. "well, since you told me what you do, I might as well tell you what I do, which isn't much... if you consider being the husband of the Dutchess not much, that is."

And hence, the reason for the well-off appearance.

'I have been meaning to introduce myself to your wife, but she seems too busy to disturb' she said a little surprised at this revalation... a Nord Marrying a Khajiit and being the Dutchess of a city in Morrowind? Surely these were the ends of time... 'If you need my services, I am on the Senchal Rose, docked in the harbour,' she sniffed her nose, 'ah, my fish is ready! I'll have to go to a booth to eat it, so I will have to take your leave' she bowed and retreated to the booth where her fish was being served

Kethiah, Tyradil, and Tilitalia had just finished their second lesson with Uardia, an Imperial sorceress they had hired from the Mages Guild. She was an old Imperial woman with wild silvery hair, and her appearance had at first frightened and then fascinated Tyradil and Tilitalia before they understood was a kind-hearted though eccentric mage she was.

Their first lessons were on spell absorbtion and reflection.
