Hello,
and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and
socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
===
Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855
before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also,
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as
possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.
To help you get up to speed, here is
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html. This summary doesn't cover
everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered.
Note: She will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.
===
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of
disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character
at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are
encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for
some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is
not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there
for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP
You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely
to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously
not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

IMPORTANT: WE HAVE
JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW MID YEAR IN THE RP (i.e., June)

provided by Shardie showing the current division of territory between the
forces loyal to the crown and the rebels in Morrowind.

Summary for Loranna: Loranna is at Shaka's yurt, attending Kethiah's and
Isidor's wedding. She has given the couple a gift of exquisite crystal goblets
and is enjoying the party - while still keeping her thoughts open regarding the
dangers to come.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! Due to the upcoming holidays, the RP will be taking a
semi-haitus. The current wedding plot will continue over through the Christmas
break, though only one night in game will pass. When the Christmas break is
over, we will resume the doom that is forthcoming. [1]
Summary for P'Rassha: P'Rassha is devouring succulent netch canapé at the buffet's wedding and is almost ready to finish is story. [2]
ooc:
Ty and Til are there as well.
Tsei is not attending.
Isidor, male nord, is at his wedding, after just giving Kethiah, his bride, a
ring ...[3]
QUOTE(Loranna @ Dec 22 2005, 07:00 PM)
[4] Loranna breathes in sharply, saying "That's beautiful ..."
QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Dec 22 2005, 07:01 PM)
[8] Kethiah's own eyes, red and violet, were
perfectly reflected in the stones. She looked to Isidor as if to say
something, but couldn't.
Instead she kissed him, and let the tears flow, not bothering to wipe them away
this time.
[10]
Isidor winked at Loranna, and embraced Kethiah, slipping the finger onto her
finger.
[11]
Commander
Slashes-With-Claws is enjoying himself at the wedding party. He looks in awe at
some beautiful crystal goblets that Loranna has just given the couple.
Jei-Set is in the Nymph & Noggin, chatting with the patrons. [12]
Summary: Shaka, an
Argonian battlemage, is talking with the happy couple as well as others of
Loranna's friends.
"Congratulations to both of you. The ring really suits you, Kethiah."[13]
Summary
Goranthir, Prince of Firsthold, a.k.a Geht, is out of the picture for now,
though his plight may still be discussed.
Kethiah, ex-assassin, co-proprietor of the Nymph and Noggin, excise and
import/export agent for the Duchess of Ald Raathim (and secretly her Spymaster)
is at her surprise wedding feast. It was such a surprise that she's there with
dishelveled hair and a wine-stained common dress ... but she looks beautiful
and she has never been happier.[14]
QUOTE(Stargazey @ Dec 22 2005, 08:13 PM)
[15] Isidor winked at Loranna, and embraced Kethiah, slipping the finger onto her finger.
[17]
"It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," Kethiah whispered,
her voice cracking with emotion. "It truly is. You overwhelm me,
Isidor."[18]
Seeing the incredible
gifts given to the almost newly weds, P'Rassha felt something we can call
"faint" guilt. He stared at the buffet table he was standing and,
noticing how much food he just ate, decided it was his turn to talk.
"P'Rassha was never good with gifts. P'Rassha only possess what P'Rassha
needs to survive. What P'Rassha can do is to continue the story. Stories as a
wedding gift." [19]
OOC Summary
Reichi Sari is at the wedding in Ald Raathim, stuffing his face and the like.[20] [21]

[26]
"That would be a most welcome gift," Kethiah smiled, finally wiping
away her tears of happiness. "Please continue."[27]
I have far too many
characters to worry about for my OOC summarry, but lets just look at the three
who are the most important.
Maranda is looking for Manaviro and the Daedric Robe of Cleanlieness and is not
in Ald Raatham at the time being
Drevious is looking for Maranda, but not putting his heart into it
Faryon is plotting evil deeds of evil [28]
P'Rassha bowed
elegently and continued:
"P'Rassha was standing, unarmed and unarmored against a fierce Dremora.
You all guessed P'Rassha wasn't in the best position, but P'Rassha faced more
dangerous situations before, trust it.
It wasn't long before the Dremora attacked. His golden Dwemer axe swinging in
the air violently. With Violetta back around P'Rassha's neck, it was not hard
to grab the Dremora's arm just before the axe would hit P'Rassha, though. The
impact was really hard. P'Rassha almost felt on the ground when the Dremora's
axe was stopped. We stayed in the same position, the Dremora trying to break my
hold and finish his strike towards my head, and P'Rassha trying to resist the
assault, for about one minute, maybe two, before P'Rassha felt the strength
fading away.
P'Rassha warns any of you in the assistance that might want, one day, to face a
Dremora, they are very strong, stronger than a Cathay-raht.
While P'Rassha's strength was failing, P'Rassha quickly thought of a back-up
plan. He let the Dremora arms go, but stepped to the right at the same time.
The Dremora, because he was using all his strength to break P'Rassha, couldn't
stop before it was too late and jumped into the water. He dropped his axe and
was disoriented for a while. P'Rassha took the opportunity to drink another
potion and jumped into the water after the Dremora.
Both the Dremora and P'Rassha struggled in the water for a long time, but
Dremora or not, P'Rassha adversary had to breathe. He tried to escape P'Rassha
hold that kept him underwater, but couldn't. P'Rassha was giving everything he
had left. After 5 minutes of struggle, the Dremora finally died, drowned."
[29]
"Without wasting
a second, P'Rassha went out of the water, grabbed thefallen Dremora's axe and
continued his way towards the shrine. Where was supposed to stand a deadric
prince statue, only rubbles remained. The statue was destroyed long ago, and
many of the pillars were seriously damaged by the effects of time. It was the
first time P'Rassha saw a Deadric shrine that old.
P'Rassha also found his friend Corradon. He was standing over the rubbles, the
hand high into the air. In front of him, there was a great opening. Through
time and space, a gate was formed before the Redguard. At that very moment, I
remembered the day we were in: 10 Sun's Height.
Is there anybody in the assistance that knows the significance of that
day?." [30]
EDIT: Double post [31]

[49]
"You are both right, but as you might have already understood, the
Merchant's Festival wasn't really an issue in an underground Deadric Shrine.
P'Rassha saw the gate slowly fading away into nothingness, leaving only
Corradon standing in the middle of the shrine, a skull in his hand. The skull
eye socket were filled with eye-like gems, and P'Rassha swears they were
looking right in P'Rassha's direction. Suddenly, a red light emanated from the
gems and in a flash of thunder, the skull was replaced by P'Rassha. Not the
real P'Rassha, but another P'Rassha, just like P'Rassha, but with all its
equipment, axe, armor and all.
It wasn't long before that copy of P'Rassha was on the real P'Rassha." [50]

[54]
"That blasted Skull again ..." Loranna mutters, though she was
engrossed in the story.
Much like her own life, just when one obstacle was overcome, or even just
recognized, an even greater threat appeared ...[55]
"The real
P'Rassha had only a Dwemer axe, while the copy had a beautiful Nordic Battle
Axe and almost all of P'Rassha's normal gear. P'Rassha said almost because it
was missing something vital. Violetta.
Violetta wasn't around the copy's neck. P'Rassha knew then he was faster than
the copy. Even more, P'rassha wasn't wearing any armor, giving him another
edge. P'Rassha had to use the only advantage over the copy. P'Rassha dodged the
first assault and jumped behind a half-collapsed collumn. It was really weird
facing oneself. Escpecially when you know all your abilities and your flaws.
As some of you already knew, P'Rassha likes to show in a battle. P'Rassha had
to use this at his advantage before P'Rassha's journey end with an axe in the
middle of his head. Leaping from the collumn, the real P'Rassha charged the
copy with all he had. The copy reaction was predictable. Instead of using his
axe, P'Rassha's copy put his weapon aside and tried to use his claw to grab the
real P'Rassha. Anybody not aware of P'Rassha usual tactics would have fallen
into the trap but the real P'Rassha wouldn't.
At the last moment, the real P'rassha jumped in the ground, dodging the axe
striking from the side where it was unexpected, and landed behind the copy.
With a swift turn, the Dwemer axe went straight into the copy's neck, deheading
him." [56]

[60]
Kethiah smiled, looking at Tyradil and Tilitalia, who were transfixed by the
tale. As well they might be, P'rassha was a fine storyteller.[61]
Summary
Haasuul, male argonian bounty hunter has recently turned in a large burlap sack
of right arms for a healthy profit. Some belonged to freed slaves, some didn't.
In truth it didn't really matter to Haasuul. They still paid the same. He is
now in Ald Raathim, due to its large Khajiit and argonian population, stalking his
next victims.
Ondave, male Dunmer swordsman, is currently in his hidden cave in the Ascadian
Isles, trying his best to avoid military patrols; and all contact with the
outside world for that matter.
Eats-With-Claws is currently at his home, doing whatever it is Eats-With-Claws
does. [62]
"The fake
P'Rassha dissapeared almost instantly, leaving only the gear behind. The skull
was nowhere to be seen. P'Rassha went towards Corradon, axe in hand, just to be
sure.
Corradon looked in P'Rassha direction, and when P'Rassha saw his eyes,
disoriented, confused and terribly sorry, P'Rassha knew it wasn't Corradon's
fault.
P'Rassha shall conclude like this: P'Rassha,s frienc Corradon was somehow
possessed by a lesser Daedra trying to lure him into the Daedric Shrine and to
summon Vaermina. The Deadra succeeded, but he didn't consider P'Rassha a
threat. That was his only mistake. Corradon was terribly sorry, and though he
witnessed all the events, he couldn't intervene. P'Rassha forgive him, and
after 3 days spent on the island, a boat came close enough that they saw us and
we were saved.
That was my story."
P'Rassha simply smiled and began to turn around, probably to go back to the
buffet, but stopped halfway and turned back towards Kethiah.
"Oh, Corradon found, stuck in his vest the day after the events a long,
whitish hair. P'Rassha kept it just in case, and P'Rassha wants to give it to
you as a wedding gift. it isn't much, but that's a good way to remember the
story forever." [63]
Loranna applauds.
"Bravo, P'Rassha; well-played and well-told. A true heroic tale."
She idly wonders if her father ever got that match with P'Rassha that they had
both wanted - and with an impish grin, it occurs to her that she ought to have
the two of them compete in storytelling someday ...[64]

The group, particularly the children Tyradil and Tilitalia, applauded.
"Thank you, P'Rassha," said Kethiah, touched. "That is very kind
of you. I don't think there's much risk of me forgetting the story, but I'll
treasure it ..."
Her red and violet eyes narrowed. "It's not ... Vaernima's, is it?"[69]

butterflies in her stomach too.
"Then let everyone gather round to bear witness to this holy and joyous

side, looking official and inspiring.
"Friends and loved ones, tonight, we gather under the stars to witness two
souls to join together as one, forevermore to be one flesh, one family, one
bond under the gods and before mortals," she says. "Tonight we bring
Kethiah of Vas and Isidor of Skyrim together in matromony, a small miracle to

[136]
Kethiah smiled, and took from around her neck a small, finely crafted ebony
amulet, with two sapphires placed in the middle. It glowed with a magical
effect, and shined brightly. It was the healing talisman he had given her after
the attack by Herwyn Brand that had nearly claimed her life.
"This was the gift you gave me when you saved my life," she said, and
corrected herself. "The second time you saved my life. I would like
you to have it back, not because I don't treasure it and you, but because it is
symbolic of the healing power of love. And how you have proven that by giving,
you receive."
She put it around his neck.
[137]
Though he mostly kept
to himself these days, Marein had come to the wedding, for Isidor's sake.
He wasn't entirely sure why. In recent months he had been remarkably sensitive,
and this wasn't helping; after all, what made him more upset than the idea of
weddings - the idea of love - the idea of...Celeste?
It hurt just to think about it. He knew he had to get over this, grow out of
it, but he hadn't yet. He should talk to Anya; she had seen more than her share
of trials in the past...but not now. For now, he did what he had done all along
- he hid under the shell, the facade, of a charming, roguish gentleman with not
a care in the world. [138]

Loranna nods. "The bride and groom have exchanged tokens to show their
devotion to one another; now we shall hear them make their vows."
"Kethiah; assassin, buisnesswoman, mother. Do you take this man, Isidor,
to be your husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer,
for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day

OOC: Summary
Dar'Tessir is at the wedding, sort of. He's sort of off to the side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dar'Tessir had gone and listened to the vows and so, on and so forth. Before
then he had just sort of stood off to the side, he didn't particularly like
parties. He had listened to P'Rassha's story and found it interesting and
entertaining. He didn't particularly like when people told stories about
themselves. He felt that if it wasn't true, it was a sort of self
glorification, and if it was it was vain bragging. Not to say the storyteller
was vain, just the telling.
Dar'Tessir decided to go to the buffet, he was hungry and if he was eating he
wouldn't look as foolish as if he were just standing around. [192]
Bob clapped his hands,
a booming sound over the cheer. "Mi'lady, Gentlemen. The cake."
Several barhands and cooks helped to carry the massive piece outside. As tall
as an Altmer, it held several layers of iced delight. Intricate trimmings would
along each edge, with a large strand of blue and red icing twisted together
circling each layer, the most recognizable colors of the Nords and Dunmer. I
contrast with the night, the icing was a sharp white, letterings spelling out
many blessings inside each piece.
Topping the cake were two rising sculptures in the form of two clear flames
interwining, one with a blue center and one with a red. A magical mist with an
Shaka wiped a tear from his eyes. Sentimental old fool, he told himself. But he
wouldn't trade this night and this company for anything.
When the wedding guests had started their first piece of cake, Shaka called out
to the Argonians present in Hist, then in Imperial:
"Let's show them what the People of the Root can do! The dance to greet
strangers."
The half-dozen Argonians started a call and response, and soon were whirling
and leaping in the ancient stylized combat; a joyful dance that both welcomed
the outsider and told him of the tribe's capabilities. Spears clashed as the
People of the Root danced with more than human agility.
After a while, Shaka sat down again, breathless but happy.[225]
Nalion watched the Argonians perform their ritualistic dance almost with
scholarly interest, but also with one who could enjoy the simplest things of
life, such as the joy in being part of a wonderful event. Or the joy of eating
Soon after, they began to play a slow, but somehow powerful tune, like a
even in hard times, weddings, children, friendship... love."
Loranna smiles sadly. "The things we're fighting for," she says.
"Without them, what's the point of fighting?"
She sighs a bit. "Somewhere in Redoran or Indoril territory, there must be
a woman carrying a child too, thinking much these same thoughts. I hope she and
her baby make it too ..." She sighs again.
"It's hard not to think about what's coming up, isn't it?" she asks
Nalion, turning and swaying in time with him expertly. Her eyes fall on Shaka
and Anya and she smiles briefly, her spirits momentarily lifted.[311]
"I hope there will be hope for them, Loranna. This is not the Blue Dawn,
where we knew how it would end if we succeeded.", Nalion answered,
tightening his grip on Loranna for a brief moment.
"It feels strange to me. My mind says I should be working on something,
thinking about what happened at Ald Sotha, search for a clue, a solution. My
heart tells me that I should be here, at Kethiah's and Isidor's wedding,
enjoying this company and good food. It's strange. But I feel that I regain
strength while doing this, that I maintain hope. And that's a good thing, isn't
it?"
The music changed a bit, and the theme seemed to describe a river flowing
through rich forests. Light flutes imitated birds and horns gave the impression
that a hunt was just occurring. [316]
Nalion answered her with a look basically meaning "I'm a beginner in
dancing and have to watch my steps and now you want me to consider events
involving the King of Worms, Fabricants, a false Tribunal and vampires?".
Cleverly, Nalion led Loranna into a circle to gain some time to think. He
Anya closed the gap between the two dancing couples.
"They wanted Goranthir, that was plainly evident. Why, I don't know. I was
a bit, ah, too preoccupied to ask them. But trust me when I say this, they're
before he was killed, he said that Goranthir was what they had come there for.
. . . I thought at first they might be servants of Moonstone's temple, but they
seem to be a separate faction. Could they be servants of Mannimarco, sent to
Nalion shuddered slightly at the memory of the vaults.
"They changed their appearance, maybe there is a connection. But what would
have been their goal? Goranthir said he himself had been in the vaults, just
too late to see us leaving with Flamekiss. I also wonder what happened in
Ald'ruhn in the audience of the false Almalexia.", he said as he guided
Loranna into one final swing before the music ended, giving the impression of
the river gloriously joining the sea at the end of its journey.
The mage applauded to the orchestra, bowed to Loranna and led her over to Shaka
and Anya.
"So they wanted Goranthir. But they did not succeed. And after they were
beaten and have this snake woman caught you, she fled to Ald Sotha?",
Nalion asked, overhearing Anya's comment. [346]
"Nalion,
flashed them a toothy smile. She tapped her teeth, then pointed at her eyes,
Anya glanced around a bit, making sure that the four were blocking view, and
"Dayla's preference for feeding is to swallow her victims whole, in
half-snake form." The battlemage shuddered at the memory. "Not to
mention the power of her command spell. But that's another question I have: why
do they sometimes take the form of animals, at least in part? Snakes, spiders,
a wolf that wasn't really the same as the traditional werewolf."
"You say that Goranthir was in the Vaults. How do we know that the
Goranthir who returned wasn't a doppleganger of some sort? No, now I'm being
paranoid."
"As for why was she in Ald Sotha . . . . Maybe she lives disguised within
least, that's what I would do. Where my enemies wouldn't find me, or where
friends are who can protect me.", Nalion thought. "But why Ald
Sotha then? And with a victim who needed time to turn into a vampire?"
Nalion looked at Anya. "Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. But... What if
"I have a bad feeling about this.", Nalion muttered. "Are these
vampires allied with the Indoril and Redoran? But then why did the snake-woman
fight the guards and bite them? She was in a rather scary snake form, though.
But, given the idea that somehow, the vampires are connected with Redoran and
Indorial... Additionally, they are very powerful shapechangers - and as Anya
said, the beast that hit her wasn't even the strongest of them."
"It's a disturbing implication, to be sure," Loranna says, "but
it does suggest there's a connection between the False Tribunal and
these vampires ... and shape-shifting is a far less falliable form of disguise
don't know if the appearance of these vampires is a coincidence." [400]
something and it sort of grows. Do enough to throw someone's concentration off,
and you might be able to show their true face. Don't know how powerful a master
Loranna and Nalion seemed to be putting the pieces of the mystery together,
[456] "You will learn my friend, one day you will be able to heal very bad injuries indeed, as I can. And one day I will be able to send lightning searing through my enemies." He picked up another drink. "But enough talk of that. This is a party, we are here to have fun!" While thye continued to enjoy themselves, Slashes told Reeds the Hist words for a few of the things around the party.
[458]
"It is good to see you here Marshfriend," Reeds said as he grabbed a
goblet of Heshkal from the buffet table, "However, I did promise someone I
would find them, please excuse me."
Reeds went off to find Shaka. [459]
Trason had attended
the ceremony, but stayed unnoticable as he looked on and watched the occasion.
Everyone there was teary-eyed and filled with glee, but Trason felt nothing.
At times he felt like an open void with never-ending nothingness. Sometimes
sorrow and depression wept over him like high tide and other times rage and
contempt burned deep within him.
He was "happy" for Isidor and Kethiah, but he didn't really show it.
Trason left shortly before the reception party and seemed to once again
disappear in the vast city. [460]
Moonguard
Lord Aristos paced nervously. Those devils should have come back with Diamond
by now, he thought.
He dwelled on this for a few hours before finally calling in the Vraseth
clan-leader, and asking what had caused the delay.
"We won't be returning your daughter yet," said the vampire coolly.
"What? Why not? I demand that you bring her to me now!" the Lord
exclaimed.
"I'm afraid I can not do that," replied the vampire, wholly void of
any sympathy or fear. "We will be needing her for some time."
"I can not permit you to do this," snarled the Lord. "This was
not part of our deal!"
The vampire simply shrugged. "Then I guess the deal has changed, my
Lord." His voice oozed sarcasm. "And..." he here leapt
forward, past the guards and unnervingly close to the Lord's chair, shockingly
nimble. "...and...what, may I ask, do you intend to do?"
Reeds could not find Shaka. He decided to head over to the fishpond, he had
heard it was worth investigating. He made his way through the people, his mind
preoccupied on other matters.
He felt a collision. Reeds lost his balance and fell over next to a Breton, who
he assumed was the one he had run into. Getting up, he said to him, "I'm
Between feeling the bump in his back and seeing the ground suddenly intent on
embracing him, Nalion only had time for one shout of surprise before having to
gather himself up from the floor.
"What the...?", he muttered, then heard the apology from the one who
had bumped into him. He accepted the outstretched claw and stood up.
Brushing the dirt off his clothes, he looked at the Argonian.
"Oh, well, I guess nothings broken, so I should be fine.", the mage
answered. The brown-haired Breton looked curiously at the marsh dweller.
Most Argonians looked the same to Nalion, probably as most Bretons would look
for them. There were exceptions, though. He had known Shaka long enough to
distinguish him from his people, but that was about all.
And I wondered aloud whether the vampires were serving Moonstone and the false
"Yes, this may be possible. This snake-woman was in creature form - as
After much talking with wedding guests, eating, drinking, and kissing, Isidor needed a breather. He walked away from the main party, and towards the forest near the yurt. [579]
Anya popped the top
off of the flask Loranna had provided for her. The smell tickled her nose and
her eyes flared. She made sure her hood on her dark robe was up, it was
difficult keeping her facade up with blood tickling her senses.
She took the flask and drank most of it in one gulp. Her hand tipped in claws
jammed into the tree she was leaning on. Her body shuddered lightly in delight
as she finished the liquid.
Anya knew, deep down, this was wrong. But it felt better than any drink she'd
ever head. It made her body estatic just smelling it, and being around people's
scent set her on edge. Anya just hoped eventually she could reign these
feelings in, and soon. Her shoulder's heaved, then her ears twitched as she
Anya relaxed her hold on shapeshifting, letting her fangs grow out, eyes glow,
and skin lighten to it's unhealthy color. She lowered her hood, and pulled off
the rode to show Isidor. "I don't thin kI'll be needing those free drinks
Isidor's eyes went wide.
rubbing her neck, "It happened at Ald Sotha." [620]
Anya was glad he didn't respond with a zealous retribution or something of the
Better than alright in some respects."
"How do I feel? I feel cold, listless, powerful... hungry. What did you
Isidor didn't know what to expect. He had dealt with one vampire in his life,
and that one had met with an unsavory fate.
"I ... Whoa. I was not expecting this." He ran his fingers through
his hair. "... You want to come back to the party? Fancy a dance?" He
Meanwhile:
Walter walked in through the door, and proceeded to head, quietly, to the
books. He started looking at the shelves, eying over the bindings of the book
for the titles...
A few moments later:
Walter was fingering through a book on Daedra. He was wearing a red robe, which
was quite atypical of him. His brows furrowed, and he put the book back on the
shelf. He incoherently babbled to himself, and went on to another book. The countence
he held was quite concentrated, and pensive. Once again, he closed the book,
mumbled something, and put it back on the shelf. It was quite ritualistic. [661]
books form beneath the counter, "There's one here that has information on
Shaka had gotten a tankard of mead and was watching the celebration, when he
saw Isidor and Anya.
Good to see old friends catching a dance, he reflected. Shaka knew Isidor had
always had a slight crush on the Bosmer, but then who wouldn't. The three of
them had been through so much in the last year that Anya and Iz were more like
siblings by now anyway.
He nodded to them as they passed by. The paper lanterns glowed softly overhead.
Shaka was glad to see some guests were already wandering over to check out the
rose trellises; no doubt there would be some sparking tonight. He smiled at the
thought. [721]
Reeds thought for a moment. he was still making a profit, albeit a rather small
spectacular. "twenty-nine hundred it is then. Half when I put the order
[734] [735] "Allright," Walter said, rummaging through his pack and quickly piling up the septim with both hands on counter. He felt too tired with bothering to count it out, but there was still a bit of a jingle in his bag. He probably gave him extra septim, but he didn't care. "This is the price I have to pay for knowledge," he muttered to himself. He stared at the gold. Then, he asked, "When do you think it'll be in?" [736]
When Isidor and Anya
had finished their dancing for the moment, Shaka cut in and steered Anya to one
side, far enough away that the other guests wouldn't overhear.
"I see you've fed for now. Would you be able to hold down alcohol or food,
do you think? Not tonight maybe, but just a thought for the future."
"Anyway, it was good to see you spending some time with friends. . . .
Where do you want to stay, Anya? You're welcome to live in the yurt."
"Shaka! Anya!", Nalion called. The mage had decided to return to the
pond needed to be lit up with some good company.
The Breton had overheard the last sentences, but this was not the particularly
cheerful topic he had originally intended to seek out. He joined the Argonian
"We all are covering the one or other thing.", Nalion said, letting
Anya smiled, and a tear rolled down her cheek. She quickly brought up a hand to
cover it. She had always enjoyed her line of work, especially her years as a
proffesional assassin. Some had called her bloodthirsty. Now it gave her
pleasure, as well as satisfaction. She had always accepted it, but now it
worried her. She vaguely remembered what she had done in Ald Sotha, loosing all
"No one is, and especially not within this group here.", Nalion
answered softly. He remembered very few of what he had read about Anya in the
Anya thought back, back to that shy little girl hiding behind Isidor's leg as
Herwyn and Goranthir argued loudly. She almost smiled, wondering how she could
Anya grabbed Nalion's hands tightly, almost too tightly as she still didn't
The Breton looked straight into her eyes again, Woodelf females were as tall as
the average Breton, only the male Bosmer were smaller in height. Nalion did not
flinch, he felt the pressure of Anya's hands and returned is, trying to
transmit confidence through the touch. His hands were warm, felt alive. And her
Words were not necessary. He motioned to Shaka with his eyes, then released her
Kragenmoor, Morrowind
The summer breeze blew off Red mountian onto the citidal of Kragenmoor, as
Faryon looked out over the city. On a clear day, one could see all the way to
Red Mountian from here, or so they said, but every day Faryon came up here, and
every day, he could not see squat, or at least not Red Mountian. Someone
neglected to inform the builders of this tower that a massive mountian blocked
the view. One day, however, he thought, he would climb that mountian, and look
at Red Mountian.
A heavily armoured Dunmer ran up the stairs and delivered a roll of parchment
to him. He broke the seal, the seal of House Redorian, and read the document
within. A look of distaste came over his face,
'Burn these, and ready my Paratpon immedialty. Tell the commander that I will
be gone for a few days' he marched off with an air of impaitence, as the
soldier cast a fire spell on the patchment, what could it be that would upset
the commander that much?
12 hours later, the city of Blacklight came into view over the horizon [842]
A loud cry comes from the ship's crows nest.
"Unknown sails, dead ahead! ... Privaters!"
The merchant captain of Gladro's vessel, a Dunmer with a long scar going down
his cheek, growls something iviolently obscene, as his lookout continues.
"They're angling straight for us! Battle sails being raised!"
"All hands, battle stations!" the captain roars, as the deck explodes
As, the ship bowed, Gladro cringed. He didn't know how many skilled soldiers
The sailor who tried to send Gladro below decks blinks, and mutters " ...
Well, if he can swing an axe we can use him ..." as he hefts his own
blade. Arrows, fireballs, and other spells were already criss-crossing the
water, aimed for the sails of the fighting vessels and the occasional
two-legged target.
The privateer's vessel indeed came closer, ploughing through the waves, it's
bow dipping deep into the water, splashing white spray over the foredeck. The
sails were fully blown and caught the wind in a perfect angle. A dark flag,
sporting the beetle of House Redoran and a red "R" in daedric lettering
blazed in the wind.
However imposing the Redoran ship was, it, too, had suffered from the damage,
black marks on the hull indicated where spells had hit the ship and the aft
sail was sporting big holes.
Figures moved on board of the ship and shouted commands could be heard in every
brief pause where the fireballs did not sear through the air. Fireballs and
lightning bolts continued to be fired by the four or five mages on board.
Soldiers were lined up at the railing, ready to board. [863]
The Redoran captain, Lehtris Danovan, clad in traditional bonemold house
armour, did not even glance as these two mer fell off his ship. With a flowing
motion speaking of long training and experience, he drew his sword, an elegant
ebony blade, slim, but deadly.
A last salvo of lightning and ice bolts crossed the distance between the two
ships, then the Redoran vessel's railing crushed into the merchant's one. One
bolt missed the Imperial and Altmer's head by just a few inches. The Redoran
soldiers, all hard mer with burning red eyes let out a battle cry. "For
Then, the battle was joined, grappling hooks flew to fasten the two ships
Valerius Held his sword up and answered the call, "FOR THE NINE!" He
Gladro sighed and remembered It is for the weak. Without giving any more
thought, he clapst the enchanted ring on his finger and thrust his beloved
battleaxe into the air.
"With all my being, I hate this, but let it be done." [894]
The Dunmer captain
meets Lehtris Danovan's ebony blade with his own steel saber, parrying the deadly
stroke and turning the larger blade aside. Clearly, the captain's been in a few
scrapes, for he fights like a seasoned swordsman, one used to the sudden
pitches and turns that can come when fighting on a ship.
However, the captain's steel blade is hardly a match for Lethris's ebony one,
nd with each exchange the steel saber shows more and more signs of wear and
tear. Nor is the captain armored in bonemold, which blocks many of his counter
attacks that manage to get by Lethris's defenses ...
As for the captain's crew, they fight with the ferocity of the desperate, but
they are not trained soldiers, just tough, hardy sailors. Though they sell
their lives as dearly as any captain could ask, they slowly get driven back by
the superior forces of the Redorans.
"Bal shove his spear up your rear!" the captain snarls, blocking yet
another blow to his neck and trying to rush Lethris, to push him overboard. If
he could just get his armored opponent into the water, the bonemold would do
his work for him.[895]
The grin on Lehtris' face suddenly vanished, more exactly, when parts of the
rigging, beams and sailcloth came crashing down on him. There was no time to
react anymore, and seconds after the merchant captain cut the rope, Lehtris was
buried under heavy wood and half-burnt cloth.
The Imperial's lightning bolt seared through the air, a spear of powerful
sizzling energy - and was stopped by a tiny fireball spell from one of the
mages just a few feet away from its intended target. The blast radius though
hit two soldiers, but did not do it's full damage. The mage grinned
maliciously. "Beginner.", he spat, then blue light emanated from his
hands and healed the injured Redorans.
The rest of the Redoran soldiers fought hard and it became clear that the
merchant vessel's crew stood no chance at all. The question which effect the
demise of their captain had on the crew's morale was quickly answered.
"They killed the captain! For ALMSIVI, avenge him!"
With that, the Redoran troops rallied and charged into the bravely fighting,
but losing crew of the merchant. [920]
The mage almost felt sorry for this Imperial trying to hit him with a fire
spell. He did nothing to stop it, letting the natural resistance of the Dunmer
to fire -born out of the ash and fire of Red Mountain - deal with the damage.
After the explosion subsided, only some burn marks remained, painful probably,
but not in the least lethal.
Two soldiers sprang forth to attack the Altmer, while another two ran to attack
the Imperial.
Meanwhile, the battle on the merchant ship was almost over. The crew of the
The mage retreated behind the lines of his fellow House brothers, but not
before launching a fireball at the Altmer, counting that it would do more damage
due to the elf's inborn weaknesses. Two soldiers sprang forth to attack the
Altmer, while another two ran to attack the Imperial.
Meanwhile, the battle on the merchant ship was almost over. The crew of the
vessel was either dead or had surrendered themselves to the mercy of the
Redorans. Only a very few of the crew rallied besides their captain, fighting
for their very lives.
[948]
The captain, the bos'un, and the ship's cook were the only remaining crew
putting up any sort of fight - and they were fighting their way to one of the
life boats. They passed Valerius and Gladro as they fought their way to the
side of the ship.
"By ALMSIVI, there's no hope left here!" the captain yells.
"Break for the life boats; I've a trick left in my sleeve yet!"
Frightened passengers were either running for the boats themselves or else
throwing themselves at the Redorans' mercy ...[949]
Valerius hacked once more at the Redoran he was fighting, then clambered for
As the two Rederon rushed Gladro, he thought, Even a blind man could see
these men are too mad to stop and promptly fleed into the realive safety of
the Imperial's boat.
"If I shall ever see those Rederon again, it would be a dark day
The rescue boat was not unnoticed, and a bunch of Redorans ran towards it just as it tried to move away from the merchant vessel. A soldier raised a bow, with an arrow notched and targeted the captain..
[968]
The captain reaches into his bloodstained shirt, and pulls out a scroll,
chanting as quickly as his tongue will allow - and with a metalic laugh three
Golden Saints appear, bearing glass and daedric weapons and shields.
"Clean off the deck!" the captain yells, pointing back to his vessel,
and with three siren cries the Golden Saints leap onto the prow, their blades
moving in an insane whirlwind of ecsastic swordplay.
"No way I'd call those things up when any of my crew were alive - but they
make a great going-away present, don't they lads!" the captain asks,
grinning fiercely as the Golden Saints start giving the remaining Redorans
something to worry about. "Now row! Row with all yer might! The spell
don't last all that long and we're still in bow range."
The captain grabs an oar and begins rowing furiously. [969]
[978]
The Redorans cried in dismay as the Daedra nimbly climbed up the ship. They
were seasoned soldiers, but Daedra, and especially three Golden Saints were a
threat that had to be taken serious. Laughing madly, the Golden Saints clashed
into the Redorans, and combat began to erupt anew.
Busy with the captain's last surprise, the Redorans had to turn their attention
away from the boat, giving them the time they needed to escape. [979]
[980] QUOTE(stargate525 @ Dec 27 2005, 12:26 AM)
[981] As does Valerius. At least he tries to. Noting that an oar seemed to be missing for him, he decided to use his broadsword instead.
[983]
Gladro, a lazy but honorable soul, spoke to the other and convinced them to
row.
He continued the flagarnt flattery until they abiided.
He thought, "An honest days work is honestly not work." [984]
With the feverish
rowing, the life boat makes good speed away from the Redoran privateer vessels
and the now lost merchant ship. The captain laughs grimly at their narrow
escape, but mutters "I'm a broken mer, lads; me whole life was in that
ship ..."
Ald Raathim was still a good day's sail away; if the Redoran managed to get
into their waters without their navy kicking their tails, then something must
be wrong, the captain thinks to himself, praying that he was wrong this time.
But he'd never been wrong before about disaster looming ahead - sudden
surprises, he wasn't so good at, but not anything you got any sort of warning
for.
"Let's pray the weather holds," he says, before throwing himself back
into the rowing.
