Hello,
and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and
socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
===
Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855
before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also,
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as
possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.
To help you get up to speed, here is
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html. This summary doesn't cover
everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered.
Note: She will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.
===
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of
disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character
at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are
encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for
some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is
not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there
for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP
You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!
===
IMPORTANT: WE HAVE
JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW MID YEAR IN THE RP (i.e., June)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Shardie/mapofmorrowind2.jpg is a map
provided by Shardie showing the current division of territory between the
forces loyal to the crown and the rebels in Morrowind.

Summary for Anya: Anya is in Vvardenfell, tracking down Goranthir, with Reichi
and Shaka. They're investigating why the animals there have all gone crazy,
which people say is caused by Geth. The animals themselves speak of a new
kingdom for everyone. [1]
Summary: Shaka has
finished listening while Anya and Reichi talked to Barenziah's agent, the
Dunmer knight Vherre.
"Sir Vherre, thank you, and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend,"
he said before leaving to catch up with Anya.
As the three walked north out of Caldera, Shaka turned to them and said:
"Maybe we should head east now and check out Sudanit, instead of trying
for Ald'ruhn. Moonstone's people might be too numerous in that city anyway, and
on the watch for strangers."[2]
OOC Summary
Reichi Sari is undercover in Vvardenfell with Anya and Shaka, looking to find
out more about Goranthir's disappearance, and hopefully find Goranthir himself.
----
"Sudanit's near Buckmoth, which is near Ald'Ruhn. Thats all towards the North.
East is that herd of Kwama." [3]
OOC summary: Reeds is in his shop, and is now in the habit of looking over his customers with his special vision whne they come in. [4]
[5] QUOTE(Aki @ Dec 14 2005, 07:13 PM)
[6] "Sudanit's near Buckmoth, which is near Ald'Ruhn. Thats all towards the North. East is that herd of Kwama."
[8]
Shaka took a moment to draw a map in the dust. "Sudanit seems to be
southeast of Ald'ruhn, but instead of travelling there as the crow flies, we'll
probably have to follow the main road northwest to Ald'ruhn and then work our
way southeast to the former fort and Sudanit. How does that sound?" [9]
Summary
The Grandmaster and his son are in Molag Mar. Kratos plans on revisiting
Telasero to see how Commander Winston is holding up there.
Astien Dalomax is back in Ald Raathim, making potions for Loranna in the Mages
Guild after the encounter with the Sload necromancer. [10]

[14]
"Sounds good to me," Reichi said. "Normally, I'd sday 'You'll
expect us to go that way' but mindless minions tend not to expect anything."
[15]

[19]
Shaka nodded. As the three started out down the road to Ald'ruhn, he remarked:
"Interesting that Barenziah had two agents in Caldera. Seems like a
further indication of how important the region is to the Imperials, with its
ebony mines. Wasn't Sudanit a mine too?"
He added thoughtfully: "If it weren't for the ebony and glass, the Empire
would probably write off the island as a wasteland. And there's another, less
concrete reason for Vvardenfell's importance that Loranna once mentioned. The
island is a locus of faith."[20]
Summary
The wherebouts (and even existence) of Goranthir, Prince of Firsthold
and spy to his uncle King Helseth, is the quest Reichi, Anya, and Shaka are
currently involved in in Redoran/Indoril-occupied Vvardenfell.
Kethiah, ex-assassin, co-proprietor of the Nymph and Noggin, excise and
import/export agent for the Duchess of Ald Raathim (and secretly her Spymaster)
is at her tavern.
Zadion, Magister of the Ald Raathim Mages Guild, is returning to his
Guildhouse to report on the encounter with the Sload, and to inquire of the
Magister of the Ephesus Mages Guild any unusual activity in the King of Worms's
former haunt, Scourg Barrow, in the Dragontail Mountains of Hammerfell.
[21]
OOC Summary
A new character Dynate has entered Ald Raathim,
he has shown up planning on departing on the same boat that was found sinking
filled with dead.
He has no idea about the boat accually being attacked, but could prove highly
useful with the information he has, for he knew the captain on a pretty
friendly basis.
-------------------------
Dynate just stared at the bartender as he hollered to the gaurd about all the
[censored] he just told him back in the bar.
The gaurd nodded his helmet,
"You are now within my protective custidy. Fallow me."
Confused, Dyl fallowed him to the gaurd tower.
He was escorted to the basement, a single chair stood there.
after being forced down by the paranoid gaurd.
Dyn started running his mouth off.
"Whats your deal? Sorry I didnt pay my tab, but you can arrest me that
because for the fact I was TOLD to leave!"
After a pointless interrogation Dyl left the tower still clueless about the
ship accually being sunk before he got here. [22]
Anya started up the
hill. According to there information, they should almost be right on top of the
growing herd of beasts.
It was large, and accounted for the missing Kwama. Something like this would
have been pretty hard to hide.
Anya motioned Reichi and Shaka foward, and began going down the small hill.
"This ought to be interesting to hear what they have to say,
boys." [23]
Summary for Nalion
Nalion recently helped to clear out the lair of a Sload necromancer and has
found out that the King of Worms is involved with the vision he had. After
reluctantly letting the Sload go its ways - though only after the creature had
given this valuable information - Nalion is now on his way back to Ald Raathim
and the castle.[24]
QUOTE(S'reddit)
[25] Zadion had been spending a few minutes in
the sload's lair, gathering up some of the strange objects the creature had
left behind. "The Archmagister Hannibal Traven has made the battle against
necromancy a top priority of the Guild. Whatever we can learn about the
practice can aid us."
"I will contact the Magister in Ephesus," he added as they made their
way towards the sluice that would take them to the Bay. "They're in the
Dragontail Mountains not far from Scourg Barrow. If there's anything strange
going on in Mannimarco's former haunt, they'd know."[26]
[27]
"I appreciate this greatly. I have a friend near the Dragontail Mountains,
in Lanlyn. I haven't written him in some time now, but we were on fairly good
terms.", Nalion said on the way out of the lair to Zadion, just before
they parted ways, "He's getting around a lot, so maybe he heard something
as well. If you have more information, Zadion, would you be so kind as to let
me know as well? Since that vision, I believe this is a more personal
matter." [28]

There had never been much vegetation on these inland badlands surrounding the
volcano. Some had grown up through the dust settled after the last eruption,
poking up in little budlings, but all that had been trambled by thousands of
feet. The procession from the west had apparently joined one from the south.
It was difficult to see the horde because of the cloud of dust they churned up
around them, but it was an appreciable army.
Overhead, dozens of cliffracers made circles in the sky. [33]

battlements of the stronghold Telasero

Anya glanced to Reichi, "When was the last time you've seen that happen?
Well, there's nothing else left for us to do here. We should book it, try to
reach Sudanit and Ald-ruhn before they do."
The group quickly set out, taking routes that weren't open to such a massive
army of creatures. It wasn't long before they reached the darkened lands that
the Ald-ruhn region called home. Anya shook her head at the damage caused to
the Fort, Vherre's assessment wasn't far off, it was unihabitable.
Keeping out of site from flying creatures, Anya prepared several long lasting,
but lower-powered, chameleon spells for her, Reichi, and Shaks, "Let's
enter that mine, and keep our heads down." [39]

The mine now had multiple tunnels leading into it, holes dug by burrowing
creatures, and their smell -- musk, guano, festering food -- was almost as
overwhelming as the clamor. Howls, grunts, squeals, and chattering echoed forth
from the mine as they approached it.

Though the three were still effectively cloaked, Shaka was sweating. If the
animals discovered the intruders, they would be torn apart by the sheer number
of them.
Shaka was unarmed, save for his magicka, but could call up Bound weapons as
needed. Right now stealth was the only thing allowing their continued survival

Anya wrinkled her nose, "Yuck."
As the quietly navigated the first few tunnels, Anya thought she noticed a
pattern to the movements of the animals. First it was just a few scribs and
kwama, but then larger animals started to move about. It seemed as if they had
a central tunnel or cavern they eminated from.
Then again, it could just be coincidence, but she didn't put organization past
the creatures anymore. Still, it was good a place as any to search first, she
lead them foward. [55]

[59]
But a few meters into one of the new tunnels was a wide open chamber, and the
sound that greeted the three was a hideous snarling which they could recognize
before they found the source. Nix hounds battling over a fresh kill.
The kill did not actually look so fresh. It was a human body of a young man,
but it looked dessicated, almost mummified. The six nix hounds that were
tugging at it were having a lot of trouble getting through the weathered,
leathery flesh. Behind them, a couple alit paced, watching, waiting for their
turn to feast.
The tunnel continued deeper into the earth past the "dining room."
[60]
Reichi clutched the hilt of his shortsword, though if fighting broke out it wouldn't help much against the sheer number of animals. The young man, though Reichi couldn't determine species at this distance and with the hounds tearing into it was likely a old one of some outlander who got lost in the ashlands. Lovely.. Reichi thought sarcastically as he continued onward. [61]

Reichi stopped momentarily. There was a snake out here? Or was it even a
snake? He couldn't warn the others without giving himself away, and motioned
onwards as he began moving forward again, using a roar of one of the Alit's to
cover the sound of him softly drawing his shortsword. [76]

Reluctantly, Shaka moved on again also. Examining the dessicated corpse would
have to wait until after they had explored more of the caverns.[81]

One of the Nix Hounds successfully gnawed through the corpse's neck, popping

Egalius shrugs. "Most bar brawls, the guards don't keep anyone for more
than the night, and that's mostly just to keep the blokes from getting themselves
hurt while they sleep it off. You, from what I hear, you didnt actually attack
the other guy, so they'd probably let you go if you're feeling okay."
Egalius checks Atrius over, hemming and hawing to himself as he does.
"Hmm; well, I cast spells to heal the bump on your head and clear the
headache and hangover. You ought to be all right; I'm pretty good at
Restoration if I do say so myself. Course, there is a little matter of the fee;
usually it's thirty septims for fixing up a dented skull and curing a hangover,
but in light of your situation I'd say twenty's more than enough." [101]

It was somewhat slow-going moving down the corridor as it grew smaller,
avoiding the movements of alit, nix hounds, kagouti, and other man-sized
predators that bounded through in both directions.
The corridor ended abruptly, falling off so it overlooked an enormous cavern,
two hundred feet tall, and twice as wide. Similar tunnels were honeycombed
across the walls on all sides, and a winding wooden platform connected several
of them, though not the tunnel Anya, Reichi, and Shaka had come out of.
The floor was a mass of animals, a writhing carpet like at the clothier's
house, on a much larger scale, with massive beasts instead of the rats.
Floating in the middle of the room was a bull netch, its tentacles curled up to
support a humanoid figure, which roared, chattered, and howled to the
assembled, like a priest addressing his congregation.
The figure was covered in strips of leather that bound tight against his body.
Around his head was a crown of antlers. His eyes glowed gold.
It was Goranthir.

Anya's light spell illuminates a figure uncomfortably close behind her. She
sees a woman with bare ashen skin, proud and elegant features, liquid red eyes,

She also sees that the woman's Dunmer body ends at the waist, at which the rest
of her body becomes a grey and yellow-scaled serpentine form, stretching into
the darkness of the tunnel.
Then, with an unnerving silence, the strange woman-creature lunges at Anya,

Reichi cringed at the

Shaka looked wearily at the other two. "No choice, we have to
follow."
He cast a blue healing glow on Anya's neck first, where she had been bitten,
and cast a feathering spell on Reichi before jumping into the pit. The pit was
shallow enough that Reichi should be all right.
I hope someone's got some restoring potions on them, he thought grimly as he
followed the man-spider into the burrow. Casting the Lover's Kiss always
drained him; he could only cast it once per day in any event.[270]
Anya pulled out her
bow and nocked an enchanted arrow with paralysis.
Thanking Shaka, she hurried down the tunnel, trying to catch up to the beast.
The arrow should be enough to slow it down, so they could catch up and retake
Goranthir. She also had a few other arrows with drain endurance, blind, and
other spells should paralysis not work. [271]
Reichi hopped down after the other two. Reichi rushed into the tunnel weapons at the ready. "Get back here with Goranthir, you eight legged freak!" he shouted. [272]

[304] QUOTE(Loranna @ Dec 15 2005, 12:01 AM)
[305] The arrows find their marks, and for the first time a look of anger crosses the snake-things face. Her moverments slowed, she glares at Anya, magicka emenating from her hand to compel Anya to obey her will. The force of the snake-thing's command spell was formidable ...
[307]
Anya's arms trembled, and the bow and arrow clattered to the ground.
Her eyes flared as she tried to do something, anything, but it was too much to
try and stay in place. She fell to her knees, her mind buzzing, commands sent
through her she didn't issue.
Anya's vision hazed as she lost contact with anything outside of her. It was
all she could do to keep herself centered, let alone caring about what she did.
She was in a familar place now, though not by choice. During her childhood, it
was a world away from troubles, pain. But now it felt like a prison. Her own
corner of her mind, where she screamed and no one heard.
Anya wanted to curse at this thing, but all she could do was watch. [308]

[310] Shaka turned and drove
the animals back with a lesser fireball, but aimed it away from them. It
wasn't their fault that they had been compelled to travel to this place.
. . .
He called up a Bound mace in his right hand and another Bound punch-dagger for
his left. Although Shaka hated to turn his back on his beloved woodelf,
he ran to help Reichi. Shaka attempted to catch the thing's leg between
the flanged mace and the dagger.

[314] Reichi fairly fell
back backwards to avoid the second strike, his blade clattering to the ground
from the first. Reichi rolled backwards, pulling his right glove off in the
process and tossing it at the Spider-thing to distract it long enough to remove
his ring as he backed away. Shaka would provide a ample distraction for this
"Like I said, I will Squash Yo-Erk" Reichi said, his voice
deeping before cutting off as muffled sounds of bone bopping and cracking

[316]
One leg caught by Shaka, the spider-thing finds it difficult to avoid the
snarling, razor-sharp fury that is Reichi, and takes several nasty wounds.
Blood dripping on the ground, it attempts to impale Reichi with its sword,
while simultanously sweeping at Shaka with a backhand blow - a blow with more
force behind it than any mortal creature hs any right to possess. As he
strikes, his body shifts, more gradually, foremost legs turning into pincers
and a stinging tail growing from his rear; his face contorts into a mask of
anger as he becomes a scorpion-thing.[317]

The snake-thing smiles, her lovely face coldly triumphant. With a lunge, she

Anya gasped for breath as her vision swam, blackness creeping around the edges.
It was futile to struggle, pinned so tightly. Her shoulder's popped as her arms
were pulled in a way they shouldn't go. Her armor cracked under the scales.
"Leave. Them. Alone you b-" A small gasp eeked out, the coils around
her still squeezing. It wasn't long before the blackness fully enveloped her
vision, and her head lulled back. [331]
Reichi seemed to
deliberately take the blow, the sword going through his left shoulder. Reichi

A terrible roar filled
the narrow cavern, and it took some time to figure out where it was coming
from.
Goranthir had awoken. Still tied to the Scorpion-Man's back, his bright yellow
eyes were wide and a terrible scream was issuing forth from his mouth.

Reichi backed away from the Scorpion as it wavers, pulling the sword from his
shoulder with a growl of pain. Reichi turned to look at the Snake-woman and
gets smacked in the face by a command spell. Reichi's legs legs quiver, and his
grip on the sword slackens, and he sways slightly, but he fights off the
command of the spell, his face contorting into one of rage as he draws back,
and throws the blade at the Snake-woman.
Hearing Goranthir's yell, Reichi barked something that might have been intended
to be a curse, and hurried over to where he had left his shortsword when it had
been knocked from his hand. He didn't intend on leaving it, and it seemed a
quick exit would soon be needed. [351]

The tunnels on both sides swarmed with Kwama warriors. Their aim was primarily
the scorpion-man, whom they set upon with ferocious determination, snapping and
clawing at him until Goranthir tumbled to the floor, freed, and they continuing
to pull at the strange creature's flesh. Others went for the snake-woman. It

"Dayla, get out!" The scorpion-thing's pained cry somehow manages to
drown out the kwama warriors. The scorpion-man fights with his last bit of
strength, fire blazing from his fists - but, already sorely wounded, he is
overwhelmed by the sheer numbers and ruthless determination of his foes.
Reichi's tossed blade misses the snake-woman, who looks wrathful - but then the
kwama warriors obscure Reichi's view of the snake-woman for a moment. There is
a yell, and a flash of lightning - and a moment later, when Reichi's view is no
longer blocked, he can see the snake-woman slithering for all she's worth
toward a side shaft that had not disgorged enemies.
There is no sign of Anya - but the snake-woman's torso bulges dramatically from

[369]
From Goranthir's mouth spilled forth a barrage of howls, chatterings, clicks,
screechings, bellows, and roars in fifty different tongues, including, almost
as an after-thought, the common language of men and mer in Tamriel:
DESTROY THE CREATURE
WHO LOOKS LIKE A SNAKE-WOMAN AND SMELLS LIKE DEAD FLESH! ROOT HER OUT FROM HER
BURROWS AND TEAR HER APART! THE KING DEMANDS HER FINAL DEATH!
The very walls of the mine seemed to tremble as creatures great and small
rushed to do his bidding.
Though he resembled Goranthir, there was no part of the young prince's cavalier
and friendly attitude in his personality.
The sound of his voice filled Reichi and Shaka with even more rage than they
had before against the creature who held Anya. They were in control of
themselves, but only barely.[370]
No [censored] way... Reichi thought to himself, his jaw dropping as the woman slithered off. Reichi looked around Indecisively, he could go get Anya, but then he might lose Goranthir, but if he grabbed Goranthir, the Kwama might turn on him. Crrrraaappp.... he thought again. [371]

Goranthir made Reichi's decision for him, charging into the tunnel together

Shaka halted, almost overwhelmed with fatigue and disgust. He bent over for a

"Son, it's me . . . Shaka. What happened to you?"
Shaka stared in wonder at the dunmer's golden eyes. Like Almalexia, he thought.
Has he become a god too, or is he possessed? Or what?[397]
Reichi hurried after
Goranthir, and found that the Kwama Warrior's pursuit had been cut off by a
cave in of some sort, with Shaka standing near Goranthir, trying strike a
conversation up with him. Reichi opened his mouth but shut it. He likely

"Calm thyself, Shaka the Redguard of Argonia," Goranthir turned to
him. His voice did seem to cool Shaka's blood, releasing the fury it had caused

Shaka felt close to tears, both over the loss of Anya and the seeming loss of
the youth Goranthir. Goranthir's voice did have a calming effect, though, so
Shaka was soon more able to think clearly what their next moves should be. Time
enough later to question Goranthir as to the change, if he would even allow it.
He couldn't form the words, though. We came to take you home. It sounded
inadequate even as he formed the thought.

The rock began to give way to the assault, and Reichi and the Kwama workers
burst their way through the tunnel. It was not far to sunlight.
[413]
Reichi could hear
Goranthir talking in calm tones as opposed to the thunderous and commanding one
from before. Reichi helped the Kwama workers for a few more moments before
donning his ring again and returning to human form. There was just enough left
of his greaves that he was covered, and that the remains didn't fall off.

. . It's true that they didn't seem like any daedra that I've heard about, but
they didn't fit the werecreature categories either. I guess that leaves the
undead."
"Wait, you mean Anya isn't being consumed after all, just taken somewhere?
But why?"
Shaka didn't say it aloud, but he didn't understand how Goranthir could both
serve his master Mannimarco and be some kind of Druid god at the same time. The
unnatural versus the natural, death against life. It didn't add up for Shaka;
he needed to talk to someone wiser. [419]

for their response. "The netches did not see her. She must have a secret
way of traveling."
[424]
"Goran yelled

'unnatural' folk were after Goran, and the Snake woman did a helluva lot of

"I bet if you drag the corpses into the sun they'll even burn up too. But
if she went into the sunlight....Maybe she teleported. A recall spell. Or

Shaka mused aloud, "She must have gone invisible, or even Recalled. But
could she recall with a living being inside her?"
"Maybe it's possible. I've never heard of a pregnant woman who Recalled
without her child moving with her, so why not Anya. By the Nine . . . . Could
she even be still alive, not suffocated?"
It would be dangerous to speak openly of it, but Shaka took a chance.

Goranthir looked to Shaka. He did not smile, but his golden eyes seemed warm
and friendly. "I am sorry, Shaka, but your friend Goranthir has been dead
for some time now. He died, feeling he was doing his duty to his family and his
friends, though I am sure that is cold consolation. Geth was born that day. The
murderess of Goranthir sought to slay us, as we inhabit what was once his body,
and we have been growing stronger day by day, to resist her evil assault. Now

Shaka didn't know what to say. By all the gods, what will we tell Tris.
Then it really hit him. What do we tell his grandmother Barenziah. It didn't

"The purpose, o Reichi, lupine of Balmora?" Goranthir replied, turning
to Reichi with his mild golden eyes. "Why, protection, of course. We had

Shaka could adjust to this. He had talked to the Daedra Prince, Sheogorath and
an avatar of Mara in his day. It would . . . take time, that's all. He couldn't
let himself brood about it until he was alone later, maybe.
"Geth, that wasn't really Almalexia, was it. It couldn't have been, the real
Vehk has gone on, and Seht was slain. Who or what is the woman this Moonstone
is using?"[452]
[453] QUOTE(Aki @ Dec 15 2005, 02:05 AM)
[454] Reichi raised his eyebrows. Not many knew he hailed originally from Balmora. "The Father...Mannimarco?" Reichi asked. "..And why do you refer to yourself as 'we'? Is more than Geth inhabiting that body?"
[456]
"Yes," Goranthir replied, with a ghost of a smile. "And yes.
There are vestiges of a former life in this shell, that was how we were able to
command the natural beasts to do our bidding. We grow mightier as it fades
away. Soon, we will be able to command everything that lives, man and mer and
plant as well as animal to search for your friend Anya ... but we fear it will
be too late then to save her. There must be another way to find where the
accursed snake-woman has taken her."[457]

[460]
"No, there are heretics, false Gods," Goranthir frowned, disgusted.
"I do not know her true name or nature, but she is not of this life or the
next."
[461]
Reichi kept his frown
from sinking as his mood did at this news. Geht would be able to comand man mer
and even plants as Goranthir had commanded animals. And was Mannimarco's tool,
which meant while he was a powerful ally, he would soon cease to be a
ally. If not for the large amount of animals Geht had gathered to defend
himself, Reichi would have attempted to slay Geht there, to destroy a weed
before it could grow. But they also needed him to find Anya. Finding Anya was
their only purpose in Vvardenfell now that Goranthir had been found, and
confirmed to be dead.
"I cannot think of a way to find her. If she did teleport then theres no
way we'll track her down. If she's somehow within the vacinity maybe the
Nix-Hounds can trace her scent."[462]

"Reichi, we'd better talk to Loranna right away, using the Mirror."
"You'll have to lead the way for a while, you and Geth. My judgement isn't
the best when it comes to Anya." [467]

Goranthir stood on the hill, and howled. It echoed over the hills, a haunting
sound.
"They will report back when they have found her," Goranthir said.
"Even if they are not nearby, nix hounds are a social group, and they will
relay their message across the island. Do not worry."
(OOC -- Gotta head off to bed. We can assume Geth will listen for Nix Hound
replies until I'm back on.)[472]
Somewhere ...
Within a room decorated in the Indoril style, a suit of female Ordinator armor
hanging upon an armor-rack, the snake-woman Dayla appears, her body bearing the
remnants of the wounds she suffered in her recent battle. She remains still for
several moments, her belly still distended, as her remaining wounds close
themselves.
Were anyone else in the room, they would have seen a look of shock and horror
on the face of the snake-woman. Her jaw hangs open and she slowly raises her
hands to her temples, muttering "Mugdin ... oh mater, Mudgin's gone
..."
Her hands move to cover her face, her whole body shaking. Mudgin, Sanson,
Freygald ... gone. Never mind that she had always planned on making Sanson's
blood her own someday or that Freygald had all the intelligence of the rabid
wolves he emulated; they had been her companions, her family ...
"Forgive me Mudgin ..." Dayla mutters quietly, slowly moving her
hands away from her face, to rest them on her belly. She stares at her
distended stomach for a moment, her face setting into a determined mask.
Then, she tilts her head back, her throat and mouth shifting, becoming
inhumanly wide; she reaches her hands down her throat and, with a combination
of pulling and contracting her muscles, draws the unconscious Anya from within
her. Her mouth and throat shifting back, she lays Anya on the bed and lays two
fingers on Anya's neck, feeling for a pulse.
"You're very lucky, my little wood elf," she says, her fingers
glowing with blue light. "We both are." She strips Anya down,
removing all her jewelry and concealed knick-knacks, locking them away in a
chest. Opening another, smaller chest, she pulls out a pair of bracelets and
anklets of dull gold, intricate patterns etched on the inside. With practiced
ease, she slips the bracelets and anklets on Anya, securing them with a key;
the gold bands glow faintly with enchantment and what wounds Dayla's magic
hadn't healed on Anya slowly heal, flesh knitting back together and bruises
fading.
"You sleep too peacefully to have the dreams yet," Dayla says,
hovering over Anya, smoothing the wood elf's hair out of her face. "No
matter; by tomorrow night you will see the Weeping Maiden in your dreams, her
bloody tears washing away your mortality. You will be my filia, as I am filia
to my mater before me; you will love me as I love my mater, and I shall love
you and my mater loves me ..."
She pauses, then mutters under her breath " ... or, hopefully, we will
love one another better than that. Either way though, you will be mine - like
Mudgin should have been." [473]

Several long moments pass, as Loranna stares at Shaka, slack-jawed.
" ... Wait; ... what?" she says, feeling a distinct sense of vertigo
...
Oh Dibella ... oh no, no no ...

Shaka understood the feeling. He glanced over at Goranthir, who didn't seem to
be listening to the conversation.
"At least Goranthir isn't dead . . . . I think. Not a lich as I understand

" ... Keep looking for Anya right now, and observe Goranthir,"
Loranna says quickly. "Before we bring him back, I need to talk to a few

She felt a wave of guilt the second the words left her mouth. She had promised
to be by Goranthir's side no matter what, not to cast him off because of his
connection to the God of Worms. Still ... it seemed prudent to get Nalion's and
Zadion's consul before agreeing to let a seemingly-possessed Goranthir, who may
not even be Goranthir anymore, into her city ...
Damnit, where are you! she yells at a silver-haired image enshrined in

More slowly, she says " ... Let me talk with Nalion; he's been

Anya kicked in her
sleep, and awoke with a start. Waking with headache, she shivered. Anya felt
naked without her armor on. That's when she looked down and saw her pink body
exposed.
Looking up suddenly, Anya saw Dayla observing her, with a strange glint in her
eye. Shuffling back, Anya grabbed the nearest sheet she could find to cover
herself, still not able to get over her modesty, and feeling more than exposed
near such a person.
"Who- wha- where?" Anya gasped. [509]

Dayla smiles lazily at Anya, her expression calm once more, her Dunmer features
more clearly visible in the better light of the room. Hers is an idealized
beauty, her features carefully perfect, though the predatory glint in her eye
is unmistakable.
Still, her tone is quiet, genial, as she speaks. "Welcome back to the
waking world, filia," she says. "I am your mater, Dayla." Her
smile takes on a mocking aspect for a moment, as though she were laughing
inwardly at a private joke. "And you're in my room now - though the bed is

you? What, are you?"
Anya's gaze began sweeping the room, aside from it's comfortable layout, she
found nothing. No windows she could break, only one door, no weapons. No way
out.
Her eyes snapped back to the almost etheral, the way she held her beauty,
devil. Anya's eyes widened as she began to peice together what this snake
wanted. Her hand reached for her neck where Shaka had healed the earlier

Dayla leans over Anya, easily holding her limbs down should the wood elf try to

"Dont try to fight it," Dayla says, almost tenderly. "This was
ordained the moment your path crossed mine. The fear you feel is your mortality
fraility rising up within you; relax, and let Her Tears wash that weakness
away."
Her head moves to the curve of Anya's neck, her lips parting and revealing her

Then, there is a flash of pain, and then Dayla is embracing Anya, her lips

"The trail's very hard to follow," Goranthir said. "But they are
down south. As we get closer, it will be easier to pinpoint them."
[584]
"For us to ride, I assume?" said Shaka. They would have to ride the
guar bareback. "Let's start out."[585]

[587] QUOTE(Loranna @ Dec 15 2005, 01:53 PM)
[588] Dayla leans over Anya,
easily holding her limbs down should the wood elf try to push her away; she
reaches up with one hand to wipe away Anyas tear with her hair.
"Dont try to fight it," Dayla says, almost tenderly. "This
was ordained the moment your path crossed mine. The fear you feel is your
mortality fraility rising up within you; relax, and let Her Tears wash that
weakness away."
Her head moves to the curve of Anya's neck, her lips parting and revealing her
fangs. Her body feels less cool now than it did before - though perhaps
that is from Anya's body warming hers.
Then, there is a flash of pain, and then Dayla is embracing Anya, her lips
growing rosy red.
[590]
Anya tried to push away. It was futile. Not only was Dayla attached at her
neck, but the bracers made her weak.
She pushed away, her movements limited by Dayla's strong grip, though she
manged to get a grasp on her chest. Her skin was soft, yet cool to the touch,
her ashen skin reflecting the light in an empyreal sheen. It was so unatural,
though, that it frightened her more than anything.
Still Anya pushed as best as she could, but couldn't gather a coherent attack.
She continued to struggle, squirming in the bed, eyes wide and staring down the
arched back of her assailant. [591]

She continued to struggle, squirming in the bed, eyes wide and staring down the

[595]
As Dayla drinks from Anya, her skin grows warmer and warmer. The snake woman
bites Anya repeatedly in the neck, each time drinking enough to weaken the
Bosmer, but not enough that the bracelets Anya wore could not heal the loss of
blood.
It's hard to say when the bites stopped being just on her neck and started
being elsewhere, seemingly anywhere. It's hard to say when Dayla ceases holding
Anya in a crushing embrace and holds her in other ways. Throughout the ordeal,
Dayla continually coos, breathing declarations of "How beautiful,"
and "so strong," and "my darling filia ..."
And to Anya's ears, each whispered utterance sounds totally sincere; the
glances Dayla steals that Anya catches are that of near total infatuation.
Eventually though, Dayla pulls back, slithering down to the foot of the bed,
taking Anya's gold-banded ankles in her hands and saying "Now you must
rest, and let your body adjust; while you sleep, the Weeping Maiden will come
to you, her bloody tears marking the first stage of your rebirth."
She lifts Anya's feet upward, her mouth and throat shifting once again.
"My darling filia ..." she says as she opens her mouth unnaturally
wide. [596]

Anya wanted to scream, but was a little past hysteria. She was unconcious when
this first happened, and had no memory.
Once again, Anya found no point in struggling, even though that was her natural
reaction. She continued to squirm and grasp a bedding, but the vicegrip around
her legs was absolute.
Her fears were compunded though. Not only was she being swallowed whole by a
sadistic vampire, but she didn't want to go to sleep.
Sleep brought the nightmare. [601]

[605]
It was dark.
It was confined.
She could breathe, but she couldn't move.
Dimly, she could hear humming, coming from above her. It was a lulling sound,
almost hypnotic ...
... Then, she found herself in a vast white expanse, staring off into the
distance. A purple-gowned figure approached, moving closer and closer.
As the figure got closer, she could see it was a brown-haired woman, her long
straight tresses adorned with a wreath of flowers. The woman's eyes were large
and hauntingly beautiful, staring right through her. The woman's arms were
outstretched, as though offering a benediction.
The woman came face to face wth her, her expression impossibly sad ... and
tears of purest red blood began to seep from her eyes, dripping down her
cheecks and pooling at her feet until she was awash in an ocean of bloody tears

A big, burly Dunmer sat down across from, a scar ravaging his left eye, which
still suprisingly worked. He was scrubbing a pot.
"You have the look I once held, long again, before the end times, before
the Empire. I am Bob, cook of this excellent establishment. This place attracts
difficulties of monumental design like a mine to scribs. I would say leave now

"I am old only to you, pup of young age. The millenias I lived are but a

Bob gathered some pots. "The scrib can fend for itself. But these soft
bellied people need sustenance provided for them. It is my calling to do
so."
Bob sweeped his arms across the kitchen, "This is my domain, this is my
Sphere. I shall test you, and see if this domain accepts this young one. Make
soup worthy of Kethiah's Establishment." [619]
Hours past, weather it
be a conplex soup, or a baked scrib.
This job wasnt easy.
And Bob wasnt getting any easyer to understand.
Dyl was bringing a stack of unclean plates and untencils to the back of the

He looked down at the scrib, than to the scrib, than bob.
".....this guy must have blight to his brain."
On that note he smelled something burning....not the kwuamma eggs!
Dyl placed the remains of the eaten scrib on a counter, and rushed to the

Ald Raathim, castle
For the guards at the gate, Nalion was a common sight. He'd been in and out of
the castle more times than the guards would care to count. They knew he had
even occupied a room for quite some time in the castle compound.
Thus, Nalion was not bothered with the usual inquisitive questions that were
posed on strangers. Nontheless, a servant was sent to Loranna asking if the
Duchess had the time to speak with the mage. [631]

Arynel had been waylaid getting supplies and had taken longer than he would
have wished, but he managed to prepare and headed off. An invisibility spell

Loranna's tone makes it clear that Nalion's fears are justified, but she briefs
him on Shaka's recount of the events in Sudanit anyway, her comments short and

She didnt have any answers - just her compassion, born from having suffered

another one. There may well be a lesson to learn in this story, that even
perfection can be surpassed?"
Nalion touched Loranna's hand fondly. "Thanks you for sharing this with
me, Loranna. I appreciate it more than it appears right now. I will go and make
preparations. I have sneaked out of Vvardenfell after Azura took over, I think
I can sneak in there, too. Goranthir and Anya need out help now, as well as
Shaka and Reichi need our assistance."[707]
[708] QUOTE(Nalion @ Dec 15 2005, 09:00 PM)
[709] Nalion returned the
embrace, holding on for a second as Loranna kissed him softly. He knew in what
spirit the kiss was given.
"I never said that I am glad to have you as a friend, haven't I?", he
said with a low voice, then listened to Loranna recounting the events in the
spheres.
"It must have been a wonderful sight to see.", Nalion mused, trying
to imagin how it could have looked like. "I've tried to walk the path of
knowledge perhaps too long, so that I forgot that action is an integral part as
well. Like the saint did. Action to just climb one more step higher, and then
another one. There may well be a lesson to learn in this story, that even

[711]
"We have ways to get into Vivec," Loranna says to Nalion, grinning.
"And I have some potions of swift travel left still - between those and
some invisibility you should be able to catch up with everyone. Nine watch over
you, dear; my heart is with you."[712]
Isidor sat in the Noggin, tapping his fingers on the bar. He missed his friends, and wanted to know how they were doing. If there was anything important Loranna would probably inform him, either way. [713]

[740] "For us to ride, I assume?" said Shaka. They would have to ride the guar bareback. "Let's start out."
[742]
It was a dusty ride over the hillsides on the Guar, and slow, for whenever
there were caravans, farms, troop movements, or any other Dunmer in the area,
the Guar would smell them, tell Geth, and they would all hide.
As the sun set and the moons rose, they were in the shadows of Marandus, along
Lake Nabia.
"I think she might be in Ald Sotha," Goranthir said, his golden eyes
thoughtful. "But there is much activity there, and my nix hounds can't get
too close ..." [743]

[747]
Shaka pictured the region for a moment. If they followed the Lake south, they
would come to Suran and eventually, Ald Sotha.
"We heard something was wrong at Ald Sotha even before we found you, Geth.
We go on. . . . Tell the hounds that they've done well."[748]
It had taken time to get things worked out, but Arynel had special talents which helped tremendously. After determining Goranthir’s location the Breton took off on a solitary trek towards Marandus, keeping an eye out for signs of the Dunmer’s convoy. [749]
"Last I saw Ald Sotha," Reichi said. "It was sinking, Sheogorath had something to do with it, if memory serves. What one could want with a partially submerged ruin is beyound me." He shrugged. "There wasn't anything useful there..." [750]

[754]
"I wasn't along for your time there with Loranna's group," said Shaka
thoughtfully. "All I know is that it's ancient. Wasn't it the seat of
Sotha Sil's house, then destroyed? Nerevar rescued him as the sole survivor, if
I remember right."[755]

[759]
"Something like that," Reichi replied. "It also housed the Dark
Brotherhood's Night mother for a short time, but her stay in Vvardenfell was cut
short." Reichi grinned wickedly. "Then after the very start Blue
Dawn we used it for shelter for a short period of time before being forced to

[764]
They rode in silence for a while. Shaka now wasn't so sure that it had been
Nerevar; perhaps Vivec had been the rescuer. So many millennia ago in any
event.
"It's been a place for daedra over the ages, I think. I wonder what we'll
find there. The Indoril and Redorans aren't toying with daedra, I hope."
"Or is there hardly a difference, with these western vampires."[765]
Shaka looked over at the wolfen. "Reichi, if Anya is . .

the whole deal is, only she doesn't have to deal with waking up covered in
blood and gore, only contend with drinking blood." Reichi shrugged.
"Amongst other things. I can't say I have any idea of what being a Vampire
is like, but I do have a idea of what being a monster is like..."

[775]
"I hope you're right, Reichi. And there's a chance we can get to her
before the change is final . . . ."
Shaka wasn't so sure Anya would be the same. The eastern vampires had many ways
of life that were alien to the living: keeping other beings as Cattle, in
particular. The amorality of their lives; believing themselves above the
"good" and "evil" of the living.
Anya would be lost to him if these western vampires had their way. His only
other alternative would be to join her in undeath; but he wasn't prepared to do
that. [776]
It was quiet here.
Her mind was racked with nightmares, the crimson tears had haunted her. But
they passed in time. It couldn't have been more than several hours, maybe a
night's time, but Anya wasn't paying attention.
It had happened again. All her work, all her training for naught. She was just
another victim, helpless to overcome, used as her master pleased. Her years
spent working towards a stronger self were in the end fruitless. Her envelope
of protection was shattered.
So Anya left to a place were no one could hurt her. Her sister showed her,
though not intentionally, how one can become so detached from the outside
world. It had left Anya feeling alone when Alliana withdrew, but in time it
became her haven as well. It was her place, curled up inside her mind.
It was quiet here, and supposed to be safe. Then why didn't she feel safe?
It felt like something was groping at the edges, just waiting for her to move.
Could she fight? Should she even fight? Anya didn't know what to do, it seemed
pointless. Even the quiet felt oppresive. In the darkness of this womb, her
eyes tightened in a mix of fear and anger. [777]
Far away, in the
Breton land of High Rock, an aging man went behind the back of his wife to get
extra help in getting his daughter back.
Children, he reasoned, were like an investment. You put money into their
well-being and upbringing, and then they made money for you - either you
skimmed off their profits or they married into wealth, for a sizable dowry.
His second child, then, was a great investment herself...and he didn't want to
see all of his stock go to waste.
In a private chamber, the man spoke to the sorts of men he would have once
thought far beneath him, hoping that they could come up with a plan. [778]

[782]
Goranthir listened to Reichi and Shaka talk, his face still, showing no emotion
at all, his golden eyes taking it all in. In a way, it was a child's
expression, simply absorbing all. Learning as if everything was a new
experience, a new world.
"What is being a monster like?" he asked.[783]
In his time as a traveler Arynel had learned a great deal about tracking, either to catch up with animals that might provide a more succulent meal than berries and sprouts, or to avoid potentially dangerous followers, be they man, mer, betmer, beast, daedra, or undead. Although he had not done any serious tracking for quite some time, he found that he still remembered much of what he had learned, enough at least to follow Goranthir, Reichi, and Shaka, and the freshness of the signs indicated he was closing the gap between them. Reichi remarked momentarily at Goranthir's childlike innocence, it contrasted
with the feirce, terrible voice used in Sudanit during the pursuit of the
Vampire snake lady.
"Its hard to explain, really," Reichi said. "Its a ...varied
experience, what you asked is sort of like asking 'Whats it like to be an
animal?' to any of the beasts of this land. The Cliffracer's answers won't
synch with the Guar's, or the Nix's with the Sil Striders. But, generally, its
a lonely existance. Even if you can hide your monstyrous side like a Werewolf, you
push others away, not wanting them to be hurt when the sun goes down or
whatever. Some people revel in being monsters though, enjoying killing, causing
pain, its a different experience for them entirely. Some try to be near people
despite their nature, this is less dangerous for say a Vampire, than a
Werewolf. Vampires aren't prone to periods of being a homicidal killing
machine."
"Before I learned control, I went the lonely stay-away from people route,
posistioning myself next to any Writs I had before sundown. Also bandit caves
if there were any nearby. Stuff like that." [789]

Arynel followed after Goranthir, Reichi, and Shaka tirelessly, and at last the fruits of his pursuit were made clear, for he could see them some distance before him. The Breton eyed their movements for a time to calculate where they were heading and then hurried off in a perpendicular direction, hoping to swing around and meet them further down the road. [795]

It was hard to tell how long Nayla left Anya in there; even depsite herself it
was hard to avoid drifting in and out of sleep - perhaps Nayla was working a
spell into her humming. It was surprisingly warm in here as well - though
again, it could well likely be from the blood Nayla just drank, or simply the
result of being tightly wrapped up in a cocoon of fleshy matter.
Strange sounds intruded upon Anya; a rumbling like thunder, the murmur of
voices, sounds of metal against metal. It proved impossible to make out
anything definite, though.
Eventually, though, Anya feels light upon her face and freedom for her limbs,
and opening her eyes, she can see Nayla looking at her, a look of pride in her
eyes.
"You saw her, didn't you?" she asks. "You had the dream, I can

Shaka was a little ashamed that Reichi and he had been talking to each other
almost as if Goranthir weren't present.
By the Nine, Goran is still only 17 or so, he mused. What would he be like at
the height of his powers? In his apotheosis as Geht, he already reminded Shaka
of a Daedric Prince like Herne. But for now, he seemed even younger than his 17
years. . . .
If they could trust Geht enough to take him back to Loranna's duchy, could he
even fit back in with mortals? Shaka had seen that Goranthir seemed intimate
with Allerleirauh and Tris, though he was unaware of the depth of their
intimacy.
Where was Allerleirauh these days, come to think of it? Shaka had assumed the
Triune was busy with the Solunastra guildhouse. The Tribunal were far above his
station anyway. But he had heard nothing of Allerleirauh or Tris for many
weeks.

there.
Anya had all the trappings of a little girl now. Confused, scared, exposed, and
alone. It was just like before, except this time there was no one else, not

Nayla moves so that she's 'sitting' alongside Anya, next to the bed. She lays
an arm on Anya's shoulders, her Dunmer features softening into a reassuring

"Just a few more days and no nightmare can harm you again," she says

Arynel at last stopped, believing to be at a place where Goranthir, Reichi, and Shaka would soon come to. The Breton lowered his hood, which he wore up during high winds to keep the ash and dust out of his face, so that they could recognize him. He waited. [831]
Should have know
persuading him wouldn't be easy.. Reichi thought to
himself. "Mannimarco is lying when he says he is death. Arkay is Death and
Life. Mannimarco is unlife, undeath. Death I do not fear greatly, the prescence
of the Ancestors proves there is something to an afterlife...and the journey
into the Spheres also did." Reichi remebered back to that adventure,
rembering Saint Deothur, and the dead fighters, the plains of conflict and that
foul chimer necromancer.
"You shouldn't let Mannimarco decide what you are. You should
decide who you are." Reichi gestured towards Shaka, "Shaka is,
physically a Argonian, but a Redguard in spirit. He didn't need some
necromancer claiming his soul to find that out. Why should you?" [832]

She brushes Anya's cheek with her lips, and tells her "Forget whatever
stories people have told you; they know nothing of what it means to be one of
us. This is a gift, not a curse; you're going to be beautiful and strong for
all eternity." [847]
[848] QUOTE(Loranna @ Dec 16 2005, 02:54 PM)
[849] Dayla smiles to
herself, rubbing Anya's back. Again, she uses her hair to dry Anya's
tears, saying "It's all right; soon, there will be no more pain. I
won't let anyone hurt you, my filia."
She brushes Anya's cheek with her lips, and tells her "Forget whatever
stories people have told you; they know nothing of what it means to be one of
us. This is a gift, not a curse; you're going to be beautiful and strong
for all eternity."
[851]
Anya flinched when she felt her lips, and squirmed away, backing up against a
wall. Anya hugged her legs even closer. Not let anyone hurt me? "You're
hurting me..." she whispered.
She looked at her "mater", at the twisted nature behind the sculpted
beauty, the person that shattered her facade. It was a curse. It was all
pointless, wasn't it? Years spent training, she had grown faster, more agile,
and could kill most any man that threatened. Yet here she was, locked in a
decorated cage. It was pointless, it didn't matter how much she felt violated
anymore. But, she couldn't get out of her mind that there was another way. [852]

[856]
Dayla's face darkens. "You're being foolish," she says. "It's
the transition that hurts; I'm preparing you for it so you'll be ready. You'll
understand once you've made the full change."[857]
[858] QUOTE(Aki @ Dec 16 2005, 04:32 PM)
[859] Should have know
persuading him wouldn't be easy.. Reichi thought to himself.
"Mannimarco is lying when he says he is death. Arkay is Death and Life.
Mannimarco is unlife, undeath. Death I do not fear greatly, the prescence of
the Ancestors proves there is something to an afterlife...and the journey into
the Spheres also did." Reichi remebered back to that adventure, rembering
Saint Deothur, and the dead fighters, the plains of conflict and that foul
chimer necromancer.
"You shouldn't let Mannimarco decide what you are. You should
decide who you are." Reichi gestured towards Shaka, "Shaka is,
physically a Argonian, but a Redguard in spirit. He didn't need some
necromancer claiming his soul to find that out. Why should you?"
QUOTE(syronj @ Dec 16 2005, 04:46 PM)
[863] "Well said, Reichi," said Shaka. "Geth, the Psijiics who met us in the Spheres knew you had a destiny. I don't think they would settle for a necromancer, a would-be god, to have dominion over you."
[865]
"We have as much free will as Shaka," Goranthir replied. "He
could choose to ignore his Redguard spirit, and we could choose to ignore our
ties to Mannimarco. If the greater truth is that Shaka is a Redguard, and it is
noble to embrace that, why is it not true for us? You may have your own
interpretation of what Arkay is and what Mannimarco is, that is your
prerogative, of course. But they are simply your beliefs. You have not spoken
to either to know for certain."[866]
