The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses

Posted by: Loranna Nov 30 2005, 07:53 PM

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

===

Newcomers, we ask you to http://http//www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&st=40&p=2871855&#entry2871855 before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also, http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737. as soon as possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.

http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html to help you get up to speed, here is perspective. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: She will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.

===

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

If you do not have MIRC, you can, http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From there, type /join #Loranna_RP

You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

===

IMPORTANT: WE HAVE JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW SECOND SEED IN THE RP (i.e., May)

Kratos walked up to the trio, his son not too far behind. He was wearing only his greaves and boots. His chest was bandaged and his armor was far too dented to wear now. Ivelaes' was similar, but still wearable.

"Good friends, you have fought well. You are always welcome here in Molag Mar." He handed them specially crafted medals that depicted a Muatramer holding his spear high in the air. "Here, you deserve these. I have a ship in port if you are prepared to leave. You are still welcome to stay as long as you wish." He offered.

Ki'airre's journey into Skyrim pt.II

Kiairre awoke in a dark cell. He quickly took note of the cell's contents. There were two beds, a chair, and, one other prisoner in the dankness of the cell. The other prisoner could not be seen at the moment because of the lighting and the position of the prisoner. Ki'airre noticed that there were no bindings attached to him, so he could work magic without interference. He began to work a recall when the prisoner spoke out, " 'He' has enchantments on the doors and the walls are laced with enchanted metals. They will absorb all magic from the inside of this room. This cell was specifically designed to hold magic-users. I believe you have become a danger to the man who runs this disorganized group he calls an army. You will not last long in here. You will shurely die at the hands of this mad-man. He associates with western vampires and plans to help them come to morrowind. The only reason i stay alive in this hell hole is because my father is his greatest enemy." as the female prisoner spoke Ki'airre contiued to study the walls of the cell. " Why are you here?" Ki'airre turned and told her of the events that have happened in his life for the past year.... "and so that's it. I came here to rescue my daughter and got imprisoned." The girl trembled as the summary of the last year came down on her. " You say your name is Ki'airre?" ki'airre began to lose patience. "Yes that is my name, now how can I escape?" The girl walked over to where Ki'airre stood. "I knew it. Lazuris told me that you would never come, but he was wrong." Ki'airre was slightly confused. "Huh, what are you talking about?" suddenly it dawned on him. This girl was his daughter. He had finally found her after a year of searching. The tears welled up in his eyes as he was finally reunited with his daughter. "Katie, finally after a year of searching I have found you." Katie had started to cry as well. "Father..."

Reichi sari is sitting in the Nymph and Noggin after a few interesting conversations and is talking with the occaisonal passer-by who walks in or out and such.

Posted by: Teleran Nov 30 2005, 09:47 PM

Sometime after the battle, but not by much

‘Why didn’t you go to the battle?’ the dagger huffed sulkily.

‘I didn’t want to have to deal with your insufferably cheery singing for the next week. Besides you got to take out those groups of scouts and couriers before they could report.’ Telera replied.

‘But we’re missing a full battle! You decided to go off and chase down patrols in the middle of [censored] nowhere! Where’s the fun in that? Besides there were only a few scouts to kill, nowhere near the number I could have taken in a battle,’ the dagger stated in a tone that would have had it sticking out it’s tongue if it possessed one.

‘Shut up,’ Telera said, not expecting much effectual change to come from that statement. ‘The scouts needed taken care of to keep them from reporting the movements of the Muatramer anyway. And you had your fun. You took four hours with that last scout!’

‘Should have been longer, but you went and let him die of blood loss!’ the dagger snarled accusatorily. ‘You were supposed to keeping him from dying with those healing magicks you’ve been learning.

‘Not that I see the point in them. I mean, when are they any fun to be using? Leave the healing to some peon or someone fool enough to think they’re fixing something that way. Why couldn’t you go around flinging fireballs like a normal mage?

‘Or, much better idea, skip the whole magic thing and just let me slice their flesh to blood-soaked shreds.’

Telera stopped paying attention to the dagger’s ranting, the singing would probably have been preferable. She looked at her surroundings, she had ended up near Telasero after all. But from the sound of it, if there was going to be a battle at Telasero, it had already happened. She leapt high into the air to see what had occurred. When she saw Telasero the signs of a recent battle were obvious. She made her way back to Molag Mar quickly, burning through a scroll of windform, couldn’t let herself be beaten back by a damned war party, even if they had a head start.

As the ship cast off for Ald Raathim, Shaka found an unoccupied berth below. He closed the hatch, then turned and pinned Anya to the wall.

Shaka's jaws grasped her throat firmly but lovingly. He released it, and decided tongue-wrestling would be more enjoyable . . . .

"I guess winning that fight got my blood up," he murmured to the Bosmer.

Ald Raathim

"Okay, guys," Silian said to the guards as he was left his usual cell. "Thanks for letting me sleep it off. Midaves, we still on for Loredas? Or do you want to give my your money now?"

"You got lucky last time, old man!" one guard, Midaves, answered. "It won't happen again!"

"Yes, actually, it will," Silian corrected, chuckling. "I'll see ya later!" he called as he stepped out into the streets. Better than being tossed, he thought with a sigh. "So, what was I going to do? Something about a woman...and a posse...hmm." A moment passed before the old man decided to check the arena. Anyone needing a posse would be wise to check there, he figured. Even if she isn't there, I could enter a fight and earn some quick cash. So, he started walking to the arena.

QUOTE(syronj @ Nov 30 2005, 08:50 PM)

As the ship cast off for Ald Raathim, Shaka found an unoccupied berth below.  He closed the hatch, then turned and pinned Anya to the wall.

Shaka's jaws grasped her throat firmly but lovingly.  He released it, and decided tongue-wrestling would be more enjoyable .  .  . .

"I guess winning that fight got my blood up," he murmured to the Bosmer.

*

Anya giggled, "You play rough, I'm just a delicate, little flower."

She grabbed his tunic and pulled him close, "Shaka, you'll get used to the rush."

Anya's legs still wrapped around his waist, Shaka held her face gently in his hands. "My own Timsah-Come-By, I am thinking," he said in his best Hlaalu merchant accent.

He embraced her less roughly but just as lovingly. "One day, Anya, I'll hold you with human arms."

Shaka's head rested on her blonde wave of hair. The deck rolled under their feet as they headed southwest to the Duchy of Daruhn, though Shaka had yet to hear of it.

Anya closed her eyes, and rested in Shaka's arms. Sometimes, most times this was the only way she felt secure. "I look foward to that day."

"Thank you..." she whispered, barely audible.

Shaka held Anya for a while, and both got some sleep before arriving at Ald Raathim.

He disembarked, and waved to Telera, who seemed to be heading into town. Shaka picked up the Sixth House bell hammer from the ship's cargo hold and Recalled to the yurt.

Shaka examined the hammer before replacing it in its wooden box and storing it in the pit under the rugs. It was massive, capable of being wielded as a warhammer and not just to sound the cultists' bells. It seemed partly made of a granite-like material.

He walked back to town and read the notice board outside the Nymph and Noggin. Loranna a Duchess? he noted with wonder. She truly had secured the favor of Morrowind's court. As far as Shaka knew, Loranna had just risen several steps in the royal hierarchy; perhaps as many as half a dozen. Hadn't the appointed ruler of Vvardenfell himself been a Duke?

Shaka was pleased for Loranna, and awed. He himself had never been so much as an officer -- at best a noncommissioned one. Shaka was too much the loner for it, probably; unsurprising given his Ra'Gada and Argonian natures. The barmaid had come an unimaginable distance from her roots . . . .

He walked to the Nymph section of the blocklong tavern and sat down, soon thoughtfully drinking a stout.

Ald’ruhn, Vvardenfell

The moons always look sanguine across the expanse of Red Mountain, but today they had an ochre cast. Masser is full and Secunda is waning, he thought. For some reason, he remembered his nurse’s words. It is the night of the Senche.

In Elsweyr, a tiger is born.

Goranthir, Prince of Firsthold, grandson of Queen Mother Barenziah and nephew and agent of Helseth, King of Morrowind, made his way through the dark streets. It had been a ruin, but all those rounded little doors to rounded little rooms had built themselves back up. The Manor “District” where he was bound for was much as it had been, though he had never seen it before.

Inside, he was to meet Moonstone. And Almalexia was to be there too.

If they had suspected he was a spy, this would be the end for him. Goranthir was glad he had sent word already back to Helseth (and from Helseth, no doubt it would go to the Muatramer in Molag Mar, and Loranna in Ald Raathim) about the fortifications in Pelagiad and Khuul. And the horrible developments in Ald Sotha …

With a deep breath, he stepped into the massive hole that was the new Manor District of Ald’ruhn.

He kept his response equally low-key. "Thanks, Kethiah. . . . Yes, Anya and I helped the Muatramer take back Telasero. The casualties could be considered acceptable . . . though I know that phrase will never be enough for their loved ones."

He took a pull of the beer. "I brought back a trophy of war, a Sixth House bellhammer. But enough of that. I noticed the real news around here, today. I'll have to congratulate Loranna when I see her next."

"How are you holding up? Busier than ever, judging from the crowd." Shaka wasn't fully aware of Kethiah's position as spymaster, though he knew she was the go-between for traders and Ald Raathim.

"My play started out a little rough. But the interesting thing is that a year ago, Anya would have closed up; it would have brought back too many memories of her days as concubine. He walked from street to street "I need some work" he thought.
When he entered the pub, he saw a man in black at the

"No, I reckon I don't, not in this town at least, but if your a military man, you might try to get in on this war against House redoran and Indoril, Hesleth can always use more soldiers."

Looking around, he noticed that the Imperial he had offered the job to was gone. Asking around, he found the barmaid, who gave him the adress and his message. He set off to the adress, wanting to meet his first employee a bit more than fifteen seconds at a bar.

Here, one could well believe that the outlander usurper would be overthrown in due time, that the Tribunal would resotore Morrowind to the glory it had in the days before the Empire.

Goranthir was met by two of Almalexia's new Hands, looking as imposing and aloof as they always had. Their silvery Indoril armor glinted in the harsh light of the Manor District as they wordlessly directed Goranthir to his destination.

It was impossible to tell what was going on behind those gleaming, impassive helms; the two Hands never let Goranthir stray too far ahead of them, however, and he can almost feel their eyes broing into him.

Goranthir was led into the platform at the center of the District, and then the Hands left him, their footsteps echoing into the shadows as they disappeared.

For a moment, all was still.

"Faithful Disciple," the voice called out, and Moonstone, high priest of the True Church of the Tribunal, stepped out of one of the alcoves. He was clad, as always in rags. His face was old, ugly, and arresting, particularly his eyes which seemed to pierce through the very soul.

"Revered Father," Goranthir said, dropping to his knees.

"I have told Ayem about you, your true piety, and She is interested in meeting you and giving you Her Blessing," Moonstone said.

Goranthir felt a shiver. This is what he had gone undercover for so long ago. He was to finally meet the Imposter Almalexia. He had finally earned the trust. He knew his face showed fear and anticipation, which he didn't try to hide. Those would be appropriate emotions if he really was a faithful disciple, after all.

"Arise, Faithful Desciple." The words echoed effortlessly through the center of the Manor District, sensual and steely all at once.

One moment, it was just Goranthir and Moonstone; the next, the golden-skinned figure of Almalexia was present, floating inches above the ground, arms raised to the sky and eyes turned heavenward. Goranthir had a moment to feel the sheer presence of the goddess, radiating like Mangus himself, suffusing the air with an electic tingle, a luminosity that was felt more than seen.

Then, Almalexia lowered her hands and her eyes, her arms spread outward as though offering infinite bounty to Goranthir. Her bare feet slowly touch down upon the floor as she brings her hands back in a meditative posture, her golden eyes fixed on the Dunmer spy.

Her eyes smiled, as did her lips; her voice echoed through the hall again.
"Thou hast been true in thy devotion and resolve; come and recieve My Blessing." This close, it was impossible not to be keenly aware of the perfectness of her divine figure, nor the way she held Goranthir in her gaze, commanding and sensual all at once.

The Muatramer watched impassively from behind the visor of his helm as a robed figure made its way off of a small merchant vessel unloading cargo on the docks of Molag Mar. It became readily apparent that the figure was a Dunmer as he locked crimson eyes with the guardsman. He approached.

"I am Teras," the newcomer said. "Priest of the Temple, I am here to see Kratos of the Order of War."

Teras pulled a letter bearing an offical Temple seal from a fold in his robe.

"Yes Sir, right this way," responded the Muatramer as he lead the priest into the canton to find Kratos.

Goranthir could feel his breath was shallow: every intake was sweet perfume, and he didn't dare let himself be seduced. He looked on the face of the Goddess as he rose, for a Goddess she was to so many, and no wonder.

"I - I live to serve You," he said, unable to raise his voice above a whisper, as he stepped closer to Almalexia.

She was an Imposter. Allerleirauh had told him that. He believed it. But ... what if she were real? What if the real Almalexia, Living Goddess, were standing before him, about to bless him? What would happen? Would he survive it?

The question flickered in his mind, but above all was Awe and Desire.

QUOTE(Solin @ Dec 1 2005, 04:00 PM)

*

The guards in front of Kratos' office door parted to let him pass. Kratos sat behind his desk, reading and writing reports about the battle.

He looked up as a Temple priest walked into his office. "Good day to you, serjo. What brings you to Molag Mar." He asked, looking the mer over.

Teras bowed to Kratos.

"I come at the behest of the Temple heads and I come bearing their words, Warmaster," he responded producing the letter once again. Teras set the letter still sealed on Kratos' desk.

"It is, perhaps, the first of many, I am unsure," he added. "I was told that this addresses two issues. The first concerning prisoners taken here on Vvardenfell and the second concerning myself."

QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Dec 1 2005, 07:04 PM)

Manor District, Ald'Ruhn

He wanted her to touch him, more than anything.

*

Almalexia's hand reached out, and caressed Goranthir's cheek briefly; her skin was cool as marble and warm as Allie's all at once, playing havoc with Goranthir's senses.

"So then shall you serve Me," she said, drawing Goranthir closer. "Let not your faith waver, Faithful Servant, lest the flame of My Blessing consume you in its purity."

Her hand didn't move from his cheek; he could feel the power coursing through her golden flesh, threatening to pour into him like an unstoppable cascade - and yet, her eyes seemed to devour him with their intensity ...

Loranna had kept the plans for Narsis quiet as she had said, not wanting to tip their hand to the Indoril too soon. Reichi found his way into the private room, arrayed, as always, in his armor and with the Dagger of Senses and Bloodfang on his belt, the seldom-worn helmet to his armor held in the crook of his arm. He smirked when he saw Anya. That was almost the exact same pose Kethiath had been in when Jazbet had introduced her to the group long ago, during the Blue Dawn.

"We're planning a raid on Narsis's plantations to free the slaves forced to work there," she explains, pointing to the maps Kethiah laid out. "According to our latest intelligence, the slaves are only lightly guarded while at work; this is our chance to start freeing those who ought to have already been freed weeks ago, and to weaken the Indoril's position in the south while we're at it."

"It is addressed in the document, I believe, Serjo," responded Teras.

The letter was as the priest described. It contained orders from the Temple heads concerning prisoners taken on Vvardenfell.

Kratos of Molag Mar,

It has come to the attention of the Temple that the Muatramer under your command have been taking into custody both enemy fighters and local residents of Vvardenfell. It is the judgement of the Temple heads that such detaining is counter productive to the Temple's aims on Vvardenfell. To that end the Muatramer are commanded to, at the soonest convenience, place all prisoners of a non-sensitive nature to current Mutramer operations on Vvardenfel, as well as any future prisoners taken, under the authority of Royal forces. They are Helseth's concern. You are to cease detaining the local peasantry unless they are actively preaching against or encouraging hostile activity against the Temple and its faithful. It is not the Temple's wish at this time to address the false beliefs of the unfaithful in a manner fitting of the former orders of the Ordinators, they will come to understand the words of ALMSIVI or they will not. The Temple does wish that the Muatramer focus their attentions (beyond their current activities) on finding and detaining the priests and other assorted members of the False Temple's clergy. These foes are a threat to the faithful and as such are a concern of the Muatramer.

The order was signed by both Solin and Arynel. Continuing, the letter addressed the issue of Teras.

Given the large number of False Temple disciples and faithful on Vvardenfell, it has been decided that a stronger presence of faith is required. To meet this end the priest Teras has been sent to aid you and serve as an advisor in Temple matters for your operation at Molag Mar. Keep him safe from harm and seek him out when you are in need.

-Solin

For the first time since entering the office Teras pulled back his hood, it was obvious why he had kept it raised. The unmistakable mark of a survivor of the horrors of Vvardenfell during the Blue Dawn adorned his face. Three scars born of the claws of a winged twilight cut diagonally across his face, one over his left eye which had somehow miraculously been left intact.

"At your service," Teras said simply.

The Tong, despite their reputation, were rather civil, for a crime syndicate. Of course, that didn't stop them from killing a gambler who was too lucky for his own good. And Reichi never forgot how Loranna had drunk from a bowl meant for washing one's fingers, thinking it was meant for drinking.

Loranna smiles grimly. "A fair bit, yes," she says.

"Narsis is doing rather poorly right now; the abolition hit them hard and they weren't able to clamp down on their fleeing slaves like Faryon did," she explains. "They only managed to hold on to a mere fraction of their slave population - about three hundred, by our estimates. For the plantations that supplied Narsis, that's pitifully small. And between slave riots and other fighting, they can just barely keep the slaves properly guarded."

"Our plan has several angles; we'll be faking reports of an attack coming to Tear to divert enemy forces, then sneak our team in - our best bet is to come in from Black Marsh. Transports flying Indoil flags will be diverted to Narsis to help transport the slaves out; the plan is to have the raiding party free the slaves from the plantations and then board the ships and sail out before the enemy can muster forces to chase after you."

He longed to see the marsh again.

Loranna nods approvingly. "Good idea; now then, to the particulars ..."

There were a number of smaller details to work out - granted, no plan actually ever survived contact with the enemy intact, but preparedness was still important.

Slashes examined the map for problems along the river.. A city, Heimlyn Keep caught his eye. He looked closser and realized it was far off the main river they would be taking. the only major city was Old Ebonheart, and that was friendly. "Our escape route looks clear of obvious dangers. We may try mooring the ships away from the main city and using rowboats to shuttle slave from the mainland to them. We can carry extra rowboats roped to the sides of the ships to soeed things up, then leave them behind when we leave, save trying to secure them again."

Ki'airre's journey into skyrim Pt.III

Lazuris walked the halls of the ruin making his way toward the holding cells. It was there that he found the guard and Ki'airre arguing ferociously over something. "I tell yas" the gaurd yelled"that there are not dragons in cyrodiil!". Ki'airre yelled back louder"AND I TELL YAS THAT THERE ARE!!!!!" The guard was obviously not having a good time. Lazuris was dumbfounded by the argument "Could you care to tell me why you are arguing with a prisoner over the existence of dragons in cyrodiil?" The guard turned about to face Lazuris, "This fool says there are dragons in cyrodiil. He is obviously mistaken." Ki'airre smiled and said, "but there are dragons in cyrodiil." he suddenly pulled his sword, which he had been hiding, out of the sheath and stabbed the gaurd through the side and smashed down the door. Katie pulled out Ki'airre's other sword(which he had given her earlier) and rushed forward to attack Lazuris. Lazuris saw it coming and recalled back to the main hall of the ruin. Guards that had heard the dying guard's yells ran to extinguish the disturbance. Blood stained the walls and the clothing on the remaining combatants. Ki'airre smiled " Tis been awhile since i fought like that. Longer still since we fought along side eachother." With the flash of magic they were gone, sent to the nearest imperial shrine.

Filing the comment about Nords in the back of her head Jane smiled at her client, falling into step beside him. The sun was on it descent and the air was cooling down slightly, this was Jane's favorite part of the day here. She didn't like it when the sun was at its zenith and the land became scorching hot to her Nord senses.

"I have a sample ready for your viewing; we will be ready within and hour of being shown these accommodations. I must thank you for such grand accommodations. If you confirm that you will be purchasing the goods I'll send word to my head of shipping and they will be here within days." This would be a very profitable sale and she was placing much importance on it within her business. Rigen trailed behind keeping an eye on both his mistress and the servants.

Very well, I shall let you settle in. When your ready, please come to the castle. I shall assign some guards for protection shortly,' Faryon bowed, and left Jane alone for the time being, in the Former Manor house of one Dres Loranna Pyrel

Slashes found the events quite interesting and listened intently. "Ahh, the tower birthsign. It is surprising that it would only become known now, but there are many things about magicka that are surprising. I am blessed with the sign of the lady myself." Slashes thought of something and mumbled to himself for a second, "M'Thala should be in the support group, he can help to take care of..." His voice trailed off. He suddenly realized he had been thinking aloud and grinned at Reeds.

Slashes thought for a moment, not sure if he should tell Reeds. Well, if he was going to be quartermaster he had to trust him at least some, he would just omit certain details. He looked around and leaned close, wispering, "I am not sure if this would be your kind of support. We will be raiding an enemy city, freeing our people still held as slaves. I was deciding who would be in support to watch over the slaves, protect them, keep them calm, and heal them. The lead group that I am in will be doing most of the fighting, but there is always the chance that the supports could be attacked."

Jane quickly sent her servants scurrying to get things ready. Rigen would prepare the weapons display chest while Jane made ready for the meeting. She changed into an ebony robe that came to a tight collar under her neck with gold trim bringing out the sparkle in her eyes. Jane looked herself over in a mirror was impressed, her hair shone in the candlelight and the robe was tightly fit to display her curves. There was an aura of energy about her emphasizing her beauty and youth.

She gathered Rigen and the two servants carrying the chest and headed to the castle. The guards at the door escorted her to Faryon.

Commander Slashes-With-Claws, alond with a small handfull of his best men, arrived at the rally point. He wore his chitin armor, the argonian battle armor clinked too much for a stealth mission. The poison glass dagger hung at his belt with his throwing knives. His dwarven claymore was strapped to his back, sharp as ever.

He held back saying somethign that probably would have gotten him clawed to death and instead simply said, "Greetings marshsister." Not sure what to say to one who had seen their lover brutally slain.

Anya shifted her armor, making it more comfortable. She was looking foward to the Narsis raid. This was what she did, and she did it well. A corner of her mouth was raised in a small smile.

Anya left her spear and bow in her room. She was going to be apart of the group that neutralized the guards, and bulking weapons weren't needed. Her large daggers, and throwing daggers, would suffice.

"It is my merchandise." She signaled for her servants and Rigen to leave, she preferred to work unaided. "I have a selection of melee weapons as well as darts, arrows, and bolts. Not only were they crafted by a master but were also crafted using a new method that combines the strength of ebony with silver to give you affordable weapons at a very high quality and efficiency. The combination also takes well to enchantment if that is your taste." She smoothly opened the chest with a soft click and it slid open displaying her ebony tinged wares. They were designed with a cruel twist and the black on silver gave them a very cold look. Jane smiled; intimidation was certainly an important part of a fight while a fine edge would finish things off nicely. She looked to her client.

"Would you like to try them out?"

'I do like that cold look they have... sure, we will take a look at them,' clicking his fingers, two of the warriors picked up the weapons and looked them over closely. They then begain to spar
'They are light, yet seem strong' one guard replied
'Indeed they are' the other replied
'Very good' Faryon remarked, turning to Jane, 'You do look stunning today... I think I like the look of these weapons... what else do you have?'

Outside Narsis, a day later:

After assembling in Ald Raathim, the group took the guild guide to Black Marsh. There were about a dozen men and women in each of the two teams, scout and support.

Shaka and the others rode like cargo from Stormhold to the Narsis outskirts, in barrels lashed to the leathery backs of an Argonian crocodile-like beast. The creatures lumbered while on land, but in water glided as smoothly as a ship, then dove beneath the waters. Constant-effect water breathing items kept the non-Argonian members of the team alive.

Narsis, he reviewed to himself. Don't know that much about it. Important trading city, ancient history -- didn't Nerevar live here?

The city of Tear, where a diversion was, it was hoped, currently drawing attention away from Narsis, was a more important slave trading center. But freeing 300 slaves in the Narsis area would be one for the history books.

The caravan neared the city. The groups wouldn't be riding the creatures into Narsis itself; they would assemble closer to the plantations.

Jane smiled, she hadn't mentioned having anything else, it appeared Faryon had done some investigation into her business. The stunning comment intrigued her, Faryon had been fairly sparing with anything other than business comments, so she stored it away in the memory for later. She pulled out a drawer at the bottom of the chest revealing twenty rings shining with their own eerie light.

"These are fresh from Imperial City. The Head of the Mages Guild did some research into healing enchantments reaching new levels of efficiency. These are the products of his labours. The enchantment lasts extra long before needing recharging and the effect is ten times stronger." She smiled inwardly at what she had done to attain those rings, it had been a very pleasant experience. Again she kept her eyes on Faryon gauging his reaction.

And so, the tour went on, as Faryon pointed out all the interesting sights of Kragenmoor, the Temple, the Jail (where, apparently over 1000 slaves were kept, a number he was proud to boast) Past the hotel strip, each of the Inns was guarded by five soldiers, with a continuous patrol up the street. They then went to the walls, newly constructed, and looked into the now fenced off slums district, where another 1000 slaves were kept. These, said Faryon, were the ones that were about to be shipped off to other places. Then they finished the tour with a trip to the commercial sector, and the only tavern that was still open to the locals, somthing that the locals of Kragenmoor were quite Irate about, followed by the barracks, and back to the castle, where Faryon lead Jane to the highest tower. Commander Slashes-With-Claws had enjoyed the brief stop in Stormhold, he had never been to that part of the marsh. He would have to take the guide back again some day. Riding the turtle like creature had also been new to him, they did not have them in his section of the marsh. He had been strapped to the belly the whole way, which was fine for an him, being able to naturally breath under water.

The stars shown overhead, night was the best time for a raid, the vile slavers would be taken by surprise.

Slashes watched the plantation they were approaching. It looked like most of the guards were asleep as planned. He gave the signal and advanced.

He left his claymore on his back, it was too big for a stealthy kill, Slashes-With-Claws would live up to his name and use his claws.

Jane took in every last detail Faryon gave her, the city was impressive. And orderly, everything was tightly controlled through one person.

The tower afforded a spectacular view and she let herself relax to some degree. Faryon's blunt question didn't surprise her she was beginning to get a good feel for Faryon's character.

"Well, each individual piece bought separately would add up, but I'm willing to give you a discount if you buy in bulk. 1 000 000 gp for every 1000 melee weapons, 10 000 gp for every 1000 ranged missiles. I sent the total stock list earlier but also have a copy here for you to look over. The twenty rings," here she smiled, "a gift from me. I hope you enjoy." Here she looked at Faryon's face, taking in the piercing red eyes, she took a deep breath, he was older but still very appealing.

While some among the scout team took out a few bored guards, Shaka and several others moved stealthily among the slave shacks. Trying to keep a general alarm from being raised, they struck off the slaves' manacles and guided them to the waiting support team.

Soon families of Argonians, Khajiits, and a few humans were crouched along the river bank.

Jane quickly did the math in her head and didn't like the result. Faryon was under cutting her price, and not even buying a large bulk amount. She would want at least 150 000 for them.

"200 000 for 150." She was no longer relaxed, but looking for every sign from Faryon as to his opinion on the price. He could afford it, she knew that much.

Reeds moved among the injured, treating wounds where he could and calling over mages where he couldn't.

Slashes snuck up behind a guard who was almost asleep on his feet. His predatorial instincts were running strong, his left hand covered the guards mouth while the claws on his right dug into the dunmer's neck. The dunmer could not even screem as the claws tore the flesh on hs throat and severed arteries, he died quickly and silently.

Slashes entered a shack and found a sleeping marshsister, she jumped awake, and was surprised by the sight of the armored and heavily armed male standing before her. Slashes told her to be silent and broke the lock on her bracers. She thanked him. She was led off to safety.

Shaka slipped into an overseer's shack, pointed out to him by some of the slaves, and decapitated him with the kukri. He pushed the body under the bed to gain some time for the slaves, come morning; though eventually someone would discover the empty plantations.

This is too easy so far, he thought grimly. Still several plantations to hit. . . .

Slashes peared around a corner, a guard walked towards him. He ducked back and waiterd for the guard to go past. He snuck up behind the dunmer, opened his jaws, and sank his teeth into the dunmer's neck. with a quick jerk of his head there was a snapping sound of the guard's neck breaking. Slashes released the body, blood ran down his jaws.

He opened another door, a khajiit's eye's went wide at the sight of the bloody argonian. A few quick words of, "I am here to take you to freedom, friend." and the khajiit understood. slashes led him to the support men waiting nearby, and adressed Reeds, "How are things going marshbrother?"

Shaka ran up then. "The rest are mopping up. A few guards woke up in their barracks, but nothing we can't handle. The scout team can move to the next plantation soon. . . . "

He was silent, remembering the different reactions of the freed slaves. Some had been quick on the uptake, embracing their liberators; others were half-starved or emotionally shut down, almost too far gone to be freed. But Shaka and the rest had vowed that no one would be left behind.

Reichi snuck silently through the plantation, his armor glinting in the star and moonlight. One guard was less watchful than the others, he had his helmet off and was drinking. Reichi snuck behind him, and let out a quiet "Woof!" causing the mer to turn in time to get smacked across the nose with the flat of Bloodfang's blade.

Reichi slumped the unconscious mer with his drink, so it looked like he had drunk himself out cold. Less suspicious than a bloody corpse. Even if it was less fun. Reichi pulled a set of keys off the man. "Lesse.....'booze chest keys'? [censored] drunkard," Reichi murmured and meandered off. [censored] keys. We'll break the braces off later.. he thought to himself, and cuked inside a slave shack.

"Wakey wakey! C'mon, yer scaley asses are getting freed. Oh, and your fuzzy ass Mister Khajiit, didn't see ya there...Er...Miss Khajiit. My mistake..."

Perhaps Jane understood less of Faryon's character than she initially thought. He would go from warm to cold in seconds and it was difficult to follow.

Rigen was at the manor house when she got back.

"I'll need you to go to the castle and work out the details of the shipment. We agreed on 170 000 for 150 melee weapons. Get me any necessary passes before the night ends."

Walking up to the master bedroom she sat at the desk to write to Reiza. They had decided the slaves were the key issue and decided on phrases to indicate their location in the city. She also indicated she would want immediate notice on any items that could be of interest to her new client.

QUOTE

Reiza,

The journey is complete; it went smoothly although it did feel long. Our new client is very much in control of the area, certainly we had heard of this on the outside, but it is very impressive when seen up close.

A deal has been reached; Rigen has set up the details. His letter and the pass for the freighters are enclosed.

I would like to continue business here, and I want to treat our client well, send word of any merchandise that may be of use to him.

I hope things are going well for you, I expect an update on the situation in Elsweyr.

Jane

She undressed for bed and was enjoying a calming drink a few hours later when she heard Rigen's footsteps approaching her door.

"Come in" She was reclining on an ottoman in one of her sheer robes as the dutiful Imperial entered. "How was it?"

"Good Jane, I have prepared a package for Reiza, I assumed you have a letter to go with it." Jane smiled, he knew her habits well.

"Indeed, it's on the desk. Send it off and get some sleep." He took the letter and placed a copy of the details on her desk in its place. Before she could thank him for his insight he was gone again, leaving the door slightly ajar behind him. Jane didn't care to shut it right away preferring to finish her drink before moving.

Tsei came over, dripping in blood, and a knife in her hand. "Sorry about that," she hissed, to no one in particular. "Had to deal with someone ..." She rolled up the sleeves on her robe, and began her healing.

Isidor, meanwhile, was dealing with two slavers, each holding a sword in their hands. He had set free a contingent of slaves, only to be met by this pair. He focused his attention at one dunmer, and swung his axe swiftly at the man. It hit him in the midsection, and brought him to his knees.

With that out of the way, Isidor turned to the other slaver, a woman. As a rule, Isidor didn't like to hit women, or fight with them. Just out of courtesy. So, instead of cutting her up like her friend, he cast a frost spell at her, then hit her with the blunt end of his axe.

With that, he made his way back to where Shaka, Reeds, Slashes with Claws, and Tsei were.

"Hail, Isidor. I was just thinking that we're going to have to take out the plantation's owners too, or else Narsis will be alerted before we can escape. I'd rather capture them and even take them back to Ald Raathim, but it's impractical for this mission."

The group waited by the river. The only sounds were the murmurs of the freed slaves, mothers trying to hush their children, and the sounds of the night. Maybe it was a bad time to bring it up, but . . .

"Hey, Iz. Thanks for your interest in the garden for Kethiah's and your wedding. It will be good. The roses are out now."

Realizing the incongruity of it, Shaka stopped talking.

Dane approached his friends but he could hear the running footsteps of some guards, with his sensible ears. He crouched to the ground, fangs showing with saliva and eyes flashing bright orange, the monster breed leapt into the air. Doing some several aerial maneuvers, he came crashing down onto one of the guards, feet first breaking the guard’s chest. The other guard slashed at Dane with his sword, only to catch nothing but air and a sheer pain to the face.

The guard was now bending down, holding his face. Dane quickly made his finish, elbowing his neck in half, no remorse and walking back to the group.

Anya was already reaching the next plantation. Silently, she crept further in, until reaching the first gaurd.

Leaping in the air, she landed on the gaurds shoulders, clamping his head between her thighs. Slipping her dagger between his helmet and pauldron, she cut deep to make sure he couldn't scream an alarm.

Anya liked being outside, it gave her full reign of her acrobatics. And she was putting them to full use while she could. Dragging the gaurd out of sight, after relieving him of any valuables, Anya continued foward. She made sure to not get to far ahead of the main group.

Due to his... lack of funds, Dar'Tessir had again been staying with the squaters outside of town.

"Get out Khajiit, you have taken advantage of our hospitality for too long."

"Dar'Tessir has only been here a short time. Some have been here for months!"

"Most of us were displaced during the blue dawn and other recent disasters. You, on the other hand, are a just poor slacker."

"Dar'Tessir is no slacker! He tries to find work!"

"I don't care, get out of our camp."

Dar'Tessir left, glad to be away from them, but upset that he again had nowhere to sleep.

When he got back to Ald Raathim he was even more upset. He learned that his friend Reeds Saloat had opened a bookstore and he may have missed his chance for a job and a group had left for Narsis to free slaves. He didn't expect them to come looking for him but he would have liked to have helped.
He was glad that the Mautramer had won, and it seemed the war was going well. He really didn't care that Ald Raathim had been made a Duchy, he didn't really see the difference it made.

He was bored and longed for something... anything, to do.

Shaka and several others left the first plantation's manor for last. They were able to surprise the nobles, and left them bound and gagged but alive in a basement storage area.

"This is more mercy than you've shown the slaves lately," said Shaka before leaving. "Taking hostages. Revenge killings . . . . Think on that while you're waiting to be discovered."

He left for the second plantation.

Astien steadily focused his mind on the magicka in himself as he attempted to heal a Khajiit male with severe lacerations on his back and a collapsed sternum, most likely caused from a blunt object used by the slaver that he had been taken away from.

Blue light flickered from his hands as his patient began to look normal again. The blood stopped flowing from his wounds and closed up. His caved in chest was slowly starting to rise again. This was a close call.

He moved on to another injured slave, helping Tsei to patch them up as good as new.

Once the plantation had been swept for a final time, and the slaves were being tended to, Commander Slashes-With-Claws ordered the scout team on to the next plantation.

It was not far to go, when they were ready he gave the signal to move in.

Slashes lunged, landing on him, the tallons on his feet tearing the guard's throat to shreads. He dragged the body back inside the shack, hopefuly not too many people heard the shout.

Shaka and others had reached the slave quarters when they heard the guard's shout in the distance. They froze for a moment. When Shaka saw torches being lit near the bunkhouse and some voices calling out questions, he muttered to himself, "That's torn it. You and you, start rounding up the slaves. The rest of us need to silence the guards."

The armor glistened in the moonlight black with the focused hatred of the past eras. Spikes could be seen protuding from the sides and front. The armor alone could be a weapon. The helm glowed with the same black hatred, the face of the helm was twisted into that of a dragon's complete with three horns atop the helm. "Made of ebony. Tough stuff there." Shadow fox remarked. Katie inspected the armor and seemed satisfied with it. " Well, how much you want for it." Shadow Fox smiled. " Consider it as a welcome back present. Dont forget the sword either." He pointed towards a bundle of red silk. Katie unwrapped the blade and marveled at the weapon. The long curved blade was also the deep black color of the armor. The inner curve was set with ridges to inflict pain all the more easily. On the end of the hilt was a dragon's haed with ruby inset eyes and golden teeth. The scimitar was truly a work of art. Katie grabbed the armor and sword and joined her father among the endless volumes of books in the library. "I see you found your birthday present? That armor is his greatest work yet take good care of it."

Well, there goes our element of surprise, Slashes thought to himself. He gave a funny hissing whistle, ignored by all but those who knew what it ment. the four men Slashes had brought appeared moments later from various directions. "We have been discovered." He pointed to a Khajiit and a Bosmer, his best arcchers "You and you go towards the bunkhouse over there, keep the guards inside." Pointing to a Dunmer and another Khajiit he said, "You two keep searching the shacks for our enslaved people, take out any guards you see."

Slashes went towards another set of torches that had iluminated not far from him. Two guards, wide awake and alert, weapons ready, a spear and a longsword.. He considered throwing a knife, but he was at a bad angle to guarenty a kill. He drew his claymore and jumped out at the guards, hissing. The guards jumped startled, the momentary delay gave Slashes a chance to decapitate one of them and disembowel the other on the backswing. He finished the moaning guard.

The spear the guard had was of unusual design, Slashes picked it up. It was an argonian spear, it mush have been taken durring a slave raid. He sheathed his claymore and examined the spear, the leaf shaped head, the spikes bhhind the head, it was as he remembered from his time in the argonian army. He attacked an imaginary opponent experimentally. It was perfect. He went off to find more slaves to free, and a guard to test the weapon on.

No time for subtlety on this one, he thought. Shaka called up a storm atronach and commanded it to bash the stout front door in. He moved behind the mansion and watched to make sure no one escaped, while other scouts rushed into the house and bound its occupants.

With the nobles secured and hidden, Shaka ran back to the bunkhouse to see how the fight there was going.

Slashes was surprised at being licked, the argonian equivelent of a kiss, he licked Tsei's snout and hugging her back, looked into her eyes. She was beautiful. He heard the crashing of Shaka's storm atronach breaking in the door of the house, concearn replaced the saddness and surprise, "I must go and see to my men. There may be additional injuries, be ready." when Tsei let go he ran towards the Bunkhouse.

QUOTE(syronj @ Dec 4 2005, 08:58 PM)

Shaka and Isidor were joined by three other adventurers;  they fought the guards shoulder to shoulder, while the snipers outside picked off any guards attempting to escape.

Shaka noticed some of the men and women they fought had dwemer armor here and there.  He twisted aside from a warhammer, then drove the Spear into a neck.  It became a pitched battle with the Indoril hirelings, who were slowly driven back .  .  . .

*

Isidor cut down as many of the Indoril as he could, his axe running through stomachs, and cutting off heads. Blood spattered onto the walls, and ceilings, and screams filled the bunkhouse.

Posted by: Slashes-With-Claws Dec 4 2005, 09:16 PM

Slashes arrived at the bunkhouse, the battle in full swing. He charged a guard that had just come down the stairs, he looked like a professional dancer with the spear, spinning, weaving, dodging, jabbing, in the complex array of movements he learned in the argonian army. The guard perished quickly. He went up the stairs, another guard saw the blood splattered argonian and as Slashes swung the spear he dropped his sword and fell to his knees, "Don't kill me! Please!" Slashes, being merciful, struck the guard with the butt of his spear, knocking him out. Slashes would have to remembe to tie him up later.

As the battle on the ground floor of the bunkhouse subsided, Shaka trudged up the stairs. He cast a blue healing light on some gashes along his arms and ribs as he did.

"Caught him alive, Commander? Good. There's been too much blood this night as it is."

As Shaka turned back down the steps, he added to Slashes-With-Claws: "Maybe our luck is starting to run out, sir. But I hope we can still strike a third plantation tonight before stopping. We might be able to rescue at least three-quarters of the slaves before we're done. . . . Hopefully more."

"I'm going to check in with the support team."

Anya wiped her face clean, which had some blood splattered on it. "I would have killed him. Less worry."

"We shouldn't stop now. We have the momentum and no iminent threat from reinforcements. I'm not leaving until we have them all. I'll head out to the next plantation, secure the outer guards, get there as soon as you can."

Shaka nodded. "Good luck, Anya. We'll be there soon; maybe we can hit a fourth plantation after all, depending on how this next one goes."

Killer angel, thought Shaka to himself. Strange, the beings you run across in life and bond with.

"As long as we control all the guards here, keep the alarm from spreading, we should be able to stike another plantation."

Narsis

Guard Captain Ridalo Sarayn was having a bad day. He had been dealing with a case of the droops for the past week, which despite the ministrations of the local healers refused to go away, leaving him cranky and irratible. His men's morale, already on the low side, was further hurt when he was forced to discipline two of his more unscrupulous guards for drunkenness and theft - and then he himself got an earache listening to the proprieter of the Scrib and Scuttle go on an on about the quality of the guards nowadays, how you'd never see Indoril men stooping to raiding a tavern's sujamma stock in the old days, how there wasn't enough saltrice and marshmerrow to keep up with his customer's needs ever since this blasted war and why wasn't the legendary Indoril Faryon nor the Holy Tribunal (Blessed Be Their Holy Names) driving the stupid outlander usurper from Mournhold so life could get back to normal and an honest mer could see a profit for once in almost a year - after all, he had a family to feed ...

Small wonder my guards tried to drink themselves stupid, Ridalo had thought sourly; listening to this shrew of a barkeep would drive anyone down the Golden Road. At one point during the proprieter's tirade Ridalo had even caught himself fantasizing about swearing allegiance to Helseth if only the black-hearted clipped-eared outlander scum of a King would clap this barkeep in irons and throw him into the deepest dungeons in Mournhold. Too few men to properly carry out his increased duties for too long had taken its toll, both on him and on his men.

And now ... now, a hysterical woman from the Avel Plantation came busting into his office sobbing about how viscous lizards had come, slain all her guards, and run off with her slaves, and how thank the Holy Tribunal (Blessed Be Their Holy Names) that the sneering Argonian who had tied her up hadn't thought to search her room and thus find the scroll of Almsivi Intervention she kept hidden for emergancies just like this ...

Of course, he'd send people out to investigate, he assured the woman; of course, they'd track down the people who stole her slaves and retrieve them. Ridalo wondered where he was going to find the men to search the surrounding countryside for a bunch of escaped slaves when he barely had enough men to guard Narsis itself, but he did not tell the poor woman that; she had suffered an even worse day than he had, after all, and irratible as he was, Ridalo was not without compassion - even if the news had aggrevated his already queasy stomach to no end.

The other plantations were probably at risk too, Ridalo worried. B'Vehk but this was the last thing he needed, raiding parties hitting Narsis's plantations. He had warned his superiors that he lacked the men to properly secure Narsis and the surrounding area, but he had been told that Narsis was deep enough in home territory that the enemy couldn't reach him without alerting Kragenmoor and Tear, and that help would be on its way in time. Well, it was time to see just how fast help could arrive and put that little theory to the test ...

Ridalo called for his second in command, with tesre instructions; parraptons were to fly out to the plantations. Avel Plantation needed to be investigated and the other plantations warned of potential raiders in the area, and to take precautions. Meanwhile, he sent his fastest parrapton to Kragenmoor with a request for additional men.

The raiders were most likely planning on taking the slaves out of Indoril territory via the Thir River, unless they had brought a lot of scrolls of Divine Intervention with them, which seemed unlikely but one never knew. The Imperial Cult had always been sanctimonious about decrying slavery behind closed doors anyway; they just might have gone to the effort to procure the scrolls ... but he could still try to prevent slaves escaping via the river, if the outlanders hadn't thought of that. And blast it all, he'd pay for the strongest potion of cure disease the Temple could offer if it meant getting rid of these droops ...

Ald Raathim

It was different, this time - when last she was pregnant, Sen-Yedda had developed according to her own rules. Loranna hadn't consciously felt any signs of being pregnant up until the sage who told her of her prophecies informed her that she was with child, then in the space of a couple of weeks, she had gone from having a slight bulge in her belly to being heavily pregnant - and then, after her disasterous encounter with her mother, she had steadfastly stayed heavily pregnant until late Morning Star, whereupon Sen-Yedda was taken from her womb. Had that not occured, she'd have been heavily pregnant all the way to Hogithum.

This time, the new life inside her was developing more naturally; gradually Loranna's figure had become heavier, until one could see the bulge, and she could feel the warm glow that came with having a baby inside her even more clearly than before. She also had a recurring backache that had plagued her back with Sen-Yedda, though thankfully this time it was less acute - and in any event, Loranna was more capable of dealing with aches and discomfort now, having experienced them before. She felt lovely, she felt womanly; the pain couldn't compare to that.

She shifted a bit in her chair, trying to focus on the reports in front of her. Thoughts of her baby sitting on her lap, of nursing her newborn, of sitting in the herb garden and playing with her child, kept creeping up on her, making it harder for her to concentrate. She wanted to sit and talk with her friends, but everyone was going in their own directions now - of course, she had just sent many of her friends down south, so she had only herself to blame, but still ...

There had been other changes as well; given her pregnancy she had procured for herself a beautiful midnight blue robe with a potent protective enchantment, swapped her jewelry around, tinkered with the formulas of the potions she used to bolster herself. An ebony staff, engraved with gold and inset with sapphires and strahlim, leaned against her desk; she hadn't used a staff other than in pracitce since the Parade, and it felt comforting to have a stave again.

She caught herself wishing she had gone with the raiding party in Narsis and sighed, shaking her head at herself. Touching her belly, she reminded herself where her priorities lay nowadays. Adventuring could wait, saving the world could wait; her role now was to be a Duchess and a mother-to-be. But she still wondered how her friends were doing.

I just hope they didn't encounter any trouble, she reflected as she took slow, deep breaths, leaning back in her chair for a moment and closing her eyes. So much to do, so little time to do it in ...

Gadave Dres cursed, there were so many of the stinking lizards in Ald Raathim, he would have a heck of a time finding the right one.

Remembering that the one he was looking for was, some how, a commander in the army of the n'wah filled and controlled city he set out for the local barracks. He learned that the argonian was away on assigment and cursed again. He went to a tavern called the Nymph and Noggin for several strong drinks.

Commander Slashes-With-Claws was giving out the next orders. "We have done well so far, there are two plantations remaining. The scout team will move on to the next plantation, while the support team will finish with the slaves here. Once the support team is done here, they will meet us at the next plantation, by then we should be ready for them. If that is clear then we shall move out."

Posted by: Xyber02 Yesterday, 04:17 PM

Anya crept towards the next plantation. She counted a few gaurds outside, near the slave shacks, and probably a few more inside. She'd deal with the gaurds outside first.

Anya moved carefully towards the Indoril, making sure to cast chameleon. She was about to snap a guard's neck when she heard voices coming from down the road.

Cursing, Anya hid behind several bushes, looking down the road. She spotted several gaurds heading towards the plantation to reinforce the ones there. Gah! Why can't this be easy?

She waited as the guards arrayed themselves, better covering the slaves. She smiled when one came close to her. Using a dagger with a silence enchantment to prevent a shout, she took aim and threw it at a weak point in his armor. Lightly running towards him, Anya quickly grabbed his chin and the back of his head and twisted sharply.

Shaka and the rest of the scout team ran for the third plantation. Behind them, the support team would finish up with healing the slaves and getting them on their feet for the journey. Although the support team would be slowed by having to shepherd the ex-slaves, it couldn't be helped.

This third farm had a different feel to it from the beginning, to Shaka; no more bored guards standing around and bantering; more torchlight and lanterns visible; and the quietest plantation they had yet encountered. The teams had been moving away from Narsis in a roughly southeastern direction, and didn't yet know the plantations were being warned by parrapton riders.

Shaka and some of the scouts crouched in the bushes and conferred on the best approach to this estate, while Anya and a couple of others continued picking off guards.

Slashes examined the situation, "The guards have been alerted of our approach somehow. Snipers set up over there, give us two minutes then open fire. The rest of us over there on the other side, when the snipers open fire we wait two minutes then move in, snipers cease fire at that time, we don't want any friendly casualties."

"One thing, Commander: Even if we finish these guards, maybe we should arm the able-bodied among the slaves to help us with the last plantation.

Scythes, pitchforks, grain flails, or guards' weapons. They may have to help fight for their freedom."

Reichi grimaced. "Well, its a bad day to be a guard tonight...." he muttered. He glanced over at Shaka at his suggestion. "Slaves tend to be untrained in combat, they may be hurt or worse. Besides, I'm sure we can take a few guards. If push comes to shove...Well, lets just say the Indoril and Redoran will have to deal with some severe tooth and claw wounds when all's said and done." Reichi winked.

"Might I say sir, strong drinks only bring destruction. Many a good man wasted his life savings and found life empty, simply for the strong drink."

Bob was taking a moment to clean the kitchen, now that the Nymph & Noggin had calmed down. He had entered the bar, cleaning his favorite pot again.

"I have watched afar. You seem to have a great deal of tension for someone. I suggest you let not this stop you, and keep a clear head. A good scrib attacks only when attacked himself."

Posted by: syronj Yesterday, 08:41 PM

Shaka had to admit that Reichi was right. Well, what else do you expect of a dunmer who's got at least eighty years on me, he thought wryly. Wisdom.

The scout team began to fight the plantation guards and Narsis reinforcements. It became a building-to-building war, with no quarter asked. The slaves would have to wait until all resistance was stopped.

Astien picked up his pace to match Tsei's as they led the freed slaves to the next plantation. "Quite a night, is it not?" He smiled. "I hope that these ex-slaves don't receive anymore injuries this night." He said, downing a restore magicka potion.
