The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses, Part Twenty Seven
Posted by: SpartanShea117 Nov 19 2005, 01:47 PM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
===
Newcomers, we ask you to
http://http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&st=40&p=2871855&#entry2871855
before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. Also, read
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as possible;
this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.
To help you get up to speed, here is
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html so Far told from my character
Loranna's perspective. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up
some of the bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: I will probably
update and edit this summary as time goes on.
===
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of
disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character
at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are
encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for
some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is
not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there
for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can, http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP
You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna: Loranna has been very busy the past few
days, making preperations for the incoming wave of recently-freed slaves. Ald
Raathim has proven a popular choice among the recently-enfranchised to settle,
given the city's history of acceptance of all races as being equal.
During the celebrations that accompanied Helseth's proclamation, however,
Loranna got wind of Indoril Faryon's counter proclamations, urging people to
ignore Helseth and promising to kill hostages every time someone on his side
dies at the hands of former slaves. Loranna is currently gathering intelligence
regarding Faryon and Kragenmoor, judging the feasability of rescuing the slaves
the Indoril military governer is holding hostage.

OOC Summary
Reichi Sari is...well...partying! Yeehaw!
====
Reichi roamed through the crowds of partying former-slaves, Khajiit and
Argonians mixed with the normal crowds of Ald Raathim, which meant there was a
substantial prescense of Nords and Dunmer amonsgt the Khajiit. As he wandered
through the crowd Reichi would occaisonally get yanked into a dance with a
slave who was just a bit too friendly and a bit too drunk. After extricating
himself, Reichi managed to find a odd scrap of paper, something about rewards
being offered for the freed slaves. Reichi's cheerful mood was soured slightly
by this, by then a pleasing, if more than slightly bloodthristy thought came to
mind.
Reichi borrowed a quill and inkwell, and proceded to write a counter-offer of a
different sort on the back of Indoril Faryon's little slave bounty offer. It read:
Note: All Slave-Hunters who attempt to return, or slay a freed slave within
a distance of Ald Raathim or Myself will meet a terrible gruesome end
that will likely leave your body rather mangled. Or perhaps, I'll be merciful
and merely rip off your right arm. So before you try it, do ask yourself - is
25 to 100 gold worth dying or getting your arm ripped out of its socket for?
Love, Reichi.
With a feral grin to himself, Reichi let Faryon's message with his note written
on it's back go, and went back to partying. He made sure to add his note to any
of Faryon's fliers he could find. Maybe wannabe-slave hunters would think twice
about trying anything. Or at least, this might rile Faryon some if reports
about it got back. If reports did get back, Reichi would regret not being able
to see Faryon's expression.

OOC: Summary
Dar'Tessir is celebrating the release of the slaves with the crowds. He also is
making money, picking up coins dropped by the drunk revelers. He still hasn't
seen one of Faryon's notices.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Dar'Tessir was very happy, not only had the slaves been freed but he had 20
septims, the most he had since arriving at Ald Raathim, and had decided to quit
before someone saw him stooping to pick up their coins, he didn't want any
trouble.
He was overjoyed that the slaves were free but occasionaly wondered why. He had
lived in Senchal his whole life and had never known a slave or been in danger
of becoming one. He knew people whose families had been captured by slavers and
had heard rumors that young Khajiit were kidnapped and taken from Senchal to
Morrowind but had never experienced it himself. He figured it must have been
empathy for his own race. Also, he knew what it was to be poor and could
imagine what it was like to be poor and forced to work and not
allowed to leave.

Molag Mar Prison
Kratos' boots thudded on the wet stone floor as he walked down to the cell that
housed the Redoran prisoner. His wounds had been healed and he had been treated
with respect in order to get him to soften up to interrogation. If he didn't
comply, torture could be implemented; although the Grandmaster frowned upon
using these measures.
The prisoner let out a gasp of fear as he saw the dark figure standing in front
of his cell. A clinking sound was heard as Kratos inserted the key into the
lock and turned it. "Are you ready to talk, serjo?" He asked in a
calm voice as he slowly opened the barred door.
The Redoran stood as he attempted to hit Kratos with a closed fist. "Dog,
blasphemous dog!" He shouted as he lunged toward him.
Kratos caught his fist and simply pushed him back. "I think you are
confused, friend. You are the one whom has been serving blasphemy, but you
probably won't yield to that." He offered a hand to help his prisoner up.
"I will never talk. You sacrilegeous fool!" The prisoner said,
pushing Kratos' hand away.
"I have nought but time on my hands, friend. One way or another. You are
going to tell me everything you know about how you are protecting the Shrines
and ways to infiltrate them." Kratos said as he turned and headed back to
his office.

With all the drinks being ordered, Diamond was busy; she was
able to grab a moment to read all of the notices - including Reichi's.
Shaking her head disapprovingly, Diamond slid another drink down to Tsei and
poured a few flins for a party of traveling Altmer.

Eats-With-Claws, male argonian warrior, is moping in his dingy
little rented house.
Ondave, male Dunmer swordsman, is currently training in the ascadian Isles.
Haasuul, male argonian Bounty Hunter, is currently just North of
Indorill-controlled territory, stalking a recently freed argonian mother and
her three small children as they make there way to less dangerous areas. (yes,
he's a real great guy).

The three Dunmer Redoran prisoners were hauled into seperate
cells, underneath the Temple offices.
Vaan and Necron worked their way up to Vaan's office. On the way, Necron was
interrupted by one of subordinates, who handed him some parchment.
When they reached the office, Necron closed the door, and waved the piece of
parchment at him, Vaan took, and read it.
After a few minutes, he finished, with a smile.
"So, Kratos has been very busy."
Necron nodded, and began to speak. "The child will have to be jailed, he's
been trying to kill us ever since we captured him and his parents."
Vaan sat, silent. "We have to keep him safe though, his mother too, it's
part of the plan, the deal."
"Indeed, Vaan. That spy is lucky we chose him. The alternative is a
detached head for him and his wife, and a re-education for the son, if that's
possible for one so old."
Vaan took the parchment, and with his left hand, scroshed it with a spell.
"Don't want that getting into the wrong hands."
Necron raised his eyebrows, but said nothing for a while, then, he spoke once
more:
"Let's go give our prisoner his deal."
The Duo left for the cells once more.

Dar'Tessir decided to get off the streets and headed for the
Nymph & Noggin. On the message board he saw Faryon's notice. He remembered
why he hated slavery, it was an immoral institution in which filthy sadists
elevated themselves over others, forced them to work, and brutilized them.
However, he did smile at Reichi's note, though he thought a public burning or
having the slaver drawn-and-quartered would suffice.
The partying had pretty much stopped and Dar'Tessir sat down to read. He had
already gone over his copy of The Art of War Magic several times but it
was the only book he had and he couldn't do much of anything until the
headmistress contacted him about a job, as Nalion said she would.

short trip to mournhold left to skyrim to investigate some ruins.
Stormsurge let out sigh, "ugh, Shadow Fox what are you doing? We are
soldiers of the empire, we do not dance and sing. We protect the interests of
the empire." Shadow fox simply turned and handed Stormsurge a large flagon
of mead. " Come on live alittle. Ya only got one life......" before
Shadow fox could finish he had passed out in the tavern. " Oh, you have
got to be kidding."

Faryon's office, Kragenmoor
'We cant go on like this...' Faryon remarked, as the forty-th pair of slaves
were executer, 'We will run out of hostages. And it seems those heartless
slaves dont care if thier bretheren die... plus I think some of the reports are
false...'
'Recind the order?' Svadas asked
'No. It would mean I will be forced to back down... Is there not another way?'
Faryon stated
'None that I can think of which will save face. You must ether continue killing
the hostages, or stop. Those two are your only choices' Svadas stated plainly
'Then stop it, give the decleration that due to the ruthlessness of the
rebellious slaves, and the fact they care little for thier captured comrades,
we shall limit the killing of hostages significantly, because I care about the
welfare of my hostages, does that make sence?'
'I'll issue the order immediatly'
'Oh, and Svadas, make sure it stays quiet, I dont want anyone else to get wind
of it'
'Certianly'

Shaka asked the Khajiit netch pilot to head for the harbor. When
Shaka saw a clear patch at the edge of the docks and warehouses, he thanked the
ex-slave, clapped him on the shoulder, and vaulted over the side of the wicker
basket.
The battlemage was in a slow freefall, invoking a spell. For a few moments, the
celebrating city lay spread out before him. Shaka touched down near the
docklands and walked to the Nymph and Noggin. He looked up to see the Khajiit
turn for home, the small settlement of former Dren plantation workers deep in
the woods.
Shaka nodded approvingly when he read one of Reichi's altered notices, now
pinned to the board with the rest of the news outside the Nymph and Noggin. He
was tempted to look up the former assassin and see if he was up for a little
freelance work on the military governor Faryon.
I've never played the assassin, thought Shaka, but I'd finish that boyo for
free.

Slyvos was looking down at the partying and such from atop the roof
of one the buildings in the city. How they can party when their freedom costs
them the lives of others, he didn't understand very well... oh well, best not
to make any stupid moves, better to let things play out til he's needed, or he
sees an opportunity to actually do something helpful.
And with that, he disappeared in a little flash of mysticism.

Ald Raathim,
Loranna reads the letter she just recieved ...
To Lady Loranna Pyrel,
I am hearby writing this letter to list the demands that I, as a general have
upon you. I believe it is not in ether of our best intrests to fight, after
all, outlanders should not interfere in the internal running of Morrowind.
I shall agree to keep my soldiers at bay, and not harm any of those associated
with your city. In return, you are not to attack any territory currently
controled by Indoril. Nor will you help with the slave rebellions. War is not
what we want. War was caused by Hesleths ambitions.
Perhaps rational minds can come together to make peace in Morrowind. Although
this may be a futile effort, I at least wish to ask your cooperation,
cooperation, and you will keep your territories, and fight for the traditions
of Morrowind, and against the Absolutist Monarchy of Hesleth
Signed
Councillor Indoril Faryon, House Indoril
The reports of the strength of Kragenmoor had been less than encouraging for
her hopes to rescue the former slaves being held hostage; Loranna had been
drawing up a denouncement to make of Faryon's actions, and his recent letter
gives her inspiration to write.
===
Later, a new proclamation is citculated, one copy being sent directly to the
military governer of Kragenmoor:
QUOTE
Just
what are the Indoril thinking? Have they become so desperate in this war
that they're willing to resort to criminal acts and terror-mongering to achieve
their aims?
In response to the recent proclamation from His Majesty, King Helseth, that
slavery is hereby abolished in Morrowind, the military governer in Kragenmoor
has stooped to holding non-combatants captive, murdering them in blatent
attempts to inspire fear in the hearts of Morrowind's beastman citizens, and
consorting with criminals and people of ill repute to spread even more
terror. I direct your attention to the three most recent phamplets put
forth by the shining star of Indoril's military machine:
To all good citizens off Morrowind! The outlander hethen of a king may have
banned slavery, yet as his rule is unjust, and based on murder and blackmail,
as his position is a symbol of Imperial control, we ask you to disreguard his
latest proclomation on the abolishment of slavery, on the count, that he is not
the rightful ruler. If slavery was to be abolished, the Tribunal, the true
rulers of Morrowind would proclaim it, yet they are fearcely opposed.
Do not be a traitor to your nation! Ignore this hethen king's decleration!
Translation: As we are rebelling against the King, we ask you disregard
the King's proclamation, and if you don't then you're the traitors, not
us. Never mind that thousands of people have just been given their
freedom after thousands of years of slavery; Helseth's a mere Imperial lackey
so ignore all that.
The Indoril's military governer seems to be confused as to who is the rightful
authority in Morrowind and who are the rebels. He also continues to
insist that the persons claiming to be Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Vivec are the
true Tribunal when people saw Vivec depart the Mundus at the Hogithum Hall
trial years ago, and have heard from Vivec's own lips of the death of his
brother and sister Mystery and Mastery before that. Appealing to the
authority of imposters is ... questionable, at best.
To all slaves who have eloped from thier owners!
This is a warning! For every good citizen of Morrowind slain by you rebellious
slaves, the millitary governor of Kragenmoor shall execute two slave hostages,
one Kajiit, one Argonian. Do not let your blood brethen suffer, return to your
owners, and you will be greeted back with open arms!
Translation: Those of you who have just been given your freedom, if you
dare fight for it when we try to take it away from you, we'll kill those of
your people we still have captive.
This is an act of terror-mongering, pure and simple. Killing of civilians
in response to acts of self-defense or to casualties of war. The military
governer would have all Khajiit and Argonians give up the freedom they have
been granted under the threat of mass murder if they don't. And what of
Khajiit and Argonians in the army? Shall the military governer now start
executing helpless non-combatants on the belief that any beastman soldier
fighting against his side is an escaped slave?
An open writ of execution
To all bounty hunters and people of ill repute, the governor of Kragenmoor is
offering a bounty on escaped slaves. If you bring an escaped slave to
Kragenmoor alive, you will recieve 100 gold. if you bring thier right arm, you
will recieve 25 gold. If you bring thier right arm with a slave bracer
attatched, you will recieve 50 gold
Translation: All criminal-minded types, we're offering money to anyone
who goes and kidnaps a citizen of Morrowind and brings us back a warm body, or
even just a piece of one. More terror-mongering.
To reiterate, King Helseth has abolished slavery. Those 'escaped slaves'
are Morrowind citizens, with the same rights as any other. Holding
Khajiit and Argonians hostage, murdering them in response to acts of war and
self-defense, calling for bounty hunters to hunt them down and bring them to a
life of captivity and fear ... these are actions against the citizens of
Morrowind. House Indoril has shown they are willing to attack the
very people they are appealing to! This is beyond deplorable; it
shows that the once noble House has indeed thrown away its former virtues, the
virtues of the Tribunal it claims it is being loyal to, all over their hatred
for the current King.
By all accounts, the military governer of Kragenmoor is a just and honorable
mer. If he indeed is just and honorable, then I charge him to stop hiding
behind these shameful tactics of terror, which any true and honorable soldier
would deplore, and to release the civilians he is holding against their
wills. Let war be waged by the soldiers, not on the civilians.
Dres Loranna Pyrel, Lady of Ald Raathim
===
On the back of the copy sent to Faryon, is written a single phrase in Loranna's
handwriting: "No thank you."

Reeds awoke. Looking outside, he knew it must be late morning,
but the only difference between this scene and the one he saw when he went to
bed was the prescence of the sun. In fact, now that everyone could see each
other properly, the party was going stronger than ever.
He washed up hurriedly, then went down to the packed bar of the Nymph &
Noggin, ordered a Comberry juice, then sat down to await Serath.

Ald Raathim
Commnder Slashes-With-Claws was busy getting the numerous new Argonian and
Khajiit recruits equiped and setup with quarters. He was still in one of the
best moods of his life. Still amazed that his people were finally free. He was
also glad to have more people of the root and Khajiit in the army, both species
made great ambushers and were firece close quarters fighters. For now thaough,
most of them were too drunk or excited to begin training, it could wait a day
or two, Slashes made his way to the Nymph & Noggin to continue in the
celebration.
Somewhere north of Kragenmoor, not far from Dres territory
Jei-Set had been running most of the night. He was tired and drained of
magicka, he had to rest. Using his claws he climbed a tree and nestled himself
amongst the leaves, his scales helping him to blend in. He decided he would set
out again at night fall. Jei-Set was soon asleep.

unfair, and so unhumane. It just breaks my heart. What Falco did, it was wrong,

Reeds was feeling a bit foolish, noticing that the Khajiit wasn't talking to
him at all.

Slashes looked at Reeds, he had not noticed him before, must have just arrived. He was rather puzzled for a second not sure who the Khajiit was refering to. He laughed and said to Rheeds, "Hello again Rheeds, have you decided about being quartermaster? I could really use you."
Reeds heard a familiar voice at the table next to him. Turning, he saw
Slashes-With-Claws sitting at the table next to him, laughing at the awkward
situation. Answering his question with a bit of a laugh, Reeds replied,
"I'm thinking about it, though I doubt you want someone who can't see a
friend sitting a table away keeping track of all your equipment."

Loranna finds herself feeling conflicted; she called Falco a companion, yet it

Shaka took her hand for a moment. "Ald Raathim is beautiful from the air;
it was like flying on a parrapton, without the speed. Time enough just to enjoy
the view."
"There are a few families squatting in the woods outside of town;
refugees, but not from emancipation or even Red Mountain's destruction. They're
ex-slaves and former hired hands who escaped the Ascadian Isles during the Blue
Dawn. They came up with a way to suspend a basket from a bull netch, large
enough to carry one or several people."
"But about Shai . . . . I don't know if she loves you as she did when you
were still male, to be honest. Shai seemed to be having a lot of trouble with
it when she saw you in the Drunken Guar that time. But she cared enough to
single you out from the Arena crowd."
Shaka saw the gleam in Telera's eyes. Was she with Anya or some other woman
last night, he wondered.
"Tel, I'm going to recall to the yurt soon; I don't know when I last
slept. But I hope you find Shai today. I'm looking for Anya as well. . .
."
"I had a funny thought last night, looking at the celebration from above.
You, Anya, Shai . . . You're mer, or half-mer in your case. You'll all outlive
me by generations."
"I hope . . . whoever you end up with, a long time in the Fourth Era,
you'll remember me and this place. It's a nice picture, you and Anya still
together, maybe." He raised his hands. "I know, it's the fatigue
talking. I'm going to finally give in and hit the bedroll."

Telera nodded to what Shaka said about the situation with Shai.
She wouldn’t really know until after she sorted things out with Shai which
brought the worry that the answer wouldn’t be favorable back to the fore.
Telera was silent for a while after his talking about life expectancy. With
forced levity she said, “You’re assuming we all reach the end of our lives in
old age, there’s a war on you know.”
She added, “See if they can give you a few extra years in your new body, since
they’re changing your species anyway, maybe they can turn the clock back a bit
while they’re doing it. No sense making widows before you have to. And if they
can’t then you can stay an Argonian, and be with us into old age.”

He turned and Recalled to the yurt. The last thought before he hit the bed and

correspondence, plus an ungodly amount of bills... they seemed to be a
reccuring nightmare for him, plus a large package. Faryon opened it, and to his
surprise, it was a package from Loranna Pyrel. He smiled as he read the
contence, and smiled once more as he read the single sentance on the back of
the pamphlet, 'Servent, take a letter'
'Dear Loranna Pyrel,
I had a fun time reading your senceless piece of Propaganda. In reality it was
quite good, well constructed, however such attempts at manipulation will not
sway me, or any of my associates from abandoning our cause. The Abolition of
Slavery by your beloved, yet unlawful king has furthermore set the noble houses
firmly against him and his outlander ways. Unfortunatly, a negotiated peace can
not be achieved whilst he still sits apon the throne. As much as I hate it it
seems you and I shall never see eye to eye on these matters. I have tried
negotiation with you but it seems I must set loose the dogs of war apon your
fair city. As a famous man once said,
'I am determined to prove a villain
And hate the idle pleasures of these days.'
On a related matter, you will be pleased to know that the order for execution
of hostages for every good citizen of Morrowind slain has been revoked, solely
on the reason the Lizards and filthy cats care not about thier own kind's
welfare, but rather thier own petty freedoms. I can not see why you could
associate with such un noble beasts. We have ceased executions, for at the
current rate, we would have no hostages left, and that would prove an economic
disaster. We shall continue to keep them, and execute them for every large
scale slave revolt in the area under my guard.
Yours sincerely
Councillor Indoril Faryon, bla de blah de blah, put in all my titles there,
would you?' Faryon finished, 'Send it away with the next mail Parrapton to Chedinhal,
then Ald Raatham, would you please? It should be leaving shortly'
'Very well, your exelency' the servent bowed and left the room

Telera found Shai at the Nymph and Noggin and took a seat beside her. She
started haltingly, “Still drinking groundwater, I see. One of these days you’re
going to catch something horrible from it. I…I missed you, I…have the months
treated you well?”
She added nervously, “Sorry, I interrupted your fight in the arena, how is your

major battles and a number of minor skirmishes, saw the Lady Almalexia at Molag

Looking over Shai’s arm she called a healing spell to mind, “I can help with

He studied the crimson-eyed bosmer. Young, even younger than Telera, but Shaka

As they hade made their way round to the river again, Telera suggested they go

since the winter, not that I let freezing cold stop me from taking swims then

Balfalls, Dres territory
Jei-Set had made it. He was far from Indoril and in the city of Balfalls where
a friend of his lived, Ra'Krija. He went to the local tavern and bought himself
a drink, he had a fair amount of gold on him, the bounty hunter and assassin
had helped in this. He conversed wiht the publican and others in the tavern.
When he inquired aobut Ra'Krija of those who knoew the Khajiit none had seen
him within the last day or so. Finally one of the patrons said he saw the
Khajiit being arrested.
Jei-Set went to the prison, perhapps it was a minor offense and he could pay
the fine for Ra'Krija. When he got there one of the guards said that Ra'Krija
had been taken for questioning about a matter, the guard would not say what.
After the guard checked hthe prison records Jei-Set was directed to a cell, but
it was empty, the buard was just as surprised, he called one of his supperiors
over.
"Falarn, where is the Khajiit that's listed as being in this cell?"
"Who want's to know?" The other dunmer asked.
"The Argonian here."
Falarn grinned, "Yeah, I can help him." He faced Jei-Set "Follow
me."
Jei-Set was led down some stairs to a secluded windowless cell, the guard
opened the door. Insidd the rather large cell, hanging on shackles from his
wrists was the burned body of a Khajiit. Jei-set ws stuned, he approached the
body, it was Ra'Krija. Jei-Set cried, the Khajiit had been a brother to him,
they had planned that if slavery was ever abolished they would regroup with
their other friends and have the greatest celebration ever, only to pat again
to return to their homelands and find females for themselves. Behind him he
heard a door close.
"you have some questions to answer." The guard said and reached for
his sword.
Jei-Set acted fast and threw a blind spell. the guard gave a shout of surprise,
"My eyes!" Jei-set struck the guard in the head, knocking him out. He
took the guard's sword and keys and then chained the guard to another set of
shackles. He removed the guard's armor. Jei-Set noticed that a table in the
room had numerous devices of torture on it, so that is what this room was.
The guard awoke. "Hey, what is going on?"
"I think you have some questions to answer." Jei-St tore the guards
shirt off and tossed t away. "Why is the Khajiit dead?"
"I'm not telling you."
Jei-Set struck the dunmer with his claws, leaving several bloody lines on his
arm. "Answer me!"
"He had information we wanted." the guard continued after Jei-Set
proded him onward. "The location of an Argonian slave who killed a member
of the Dres family, Alren Dres. The slaves name was Hesek, we learned he
changed it to Slashes-With-Claws, and where he lives."
Jei-Set knew Hekek by both names, they had been good friends. "Why did you
want to know? And where does he live?" the guard did not answer so Jei-Set
clawed him again several times.
The guard screamed, but none would come to investigate, what else would you
hear from a torture chamber. "They issued a writ for him. He lives in Ald
Raathim, he's one of the commanders of the army."
Jei-Set had to warn Slashes, but he had a score to settle, "Who tortured
and killed Ra'Krija?" He glared at the guard with the look of a predator
ready to strike.
The guard leaned forward in his shackles. "I did, I set his fur on fire
with a torch. Healers kept him alive while he burned untill he talked, then we
let him die."
Jei-Set lost all control, blind rage combined with grief, blood lust, and a
predatory instinct drove his claws deeper and deeper into the dunmer.
Several minutes later the screams finally stopped, a little after that a well
fed Argonian emerged from the chamber and locked it behind himself. Jei-Set had
cleaned himself with the discarded shirt, but there was still some blood.
whoever opened the door would get a most greusome sight.
Jei-Set made his way to the mage's guild and paid for transit to Ald Raathim.
He had to find slashes-With-Claws and warn him before it was too late.

Shaka had been swimming for a few minutes, to give the two women their privacy,
but now returned. He waded into the waist-deep water near Telera.
The battlemage was a little unsure how to proceed; part of him wanted to bury
his fingers in Tel's long hair and pull her close, but it seemed better to hold
off and watch the dynamic between Shai and her for now.
"You two know something I'll never know, what it was like to adventure
with Loranna during the Blue Dawn. I was away from Vvardenfell when that
happened, as well as Red Mountain's later explosion."
Shaka wondered for a second what Shai's lips would feel like, if he should one

sign of the Lover, he thought to himself ruefully.

Blue Dawn
Shai turned suddenly to Teleran. "Uncertainty. That's what it all is now,
uncertain. Nothing is sure now - except this."
She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him.
Marein glanced over and couldn't help but think that this was the worst
possible time (or otherwise lack thereof) for romance.
"It's the best time for that now, Marein," Loranna laugh[ed],
catching his look and reading his expression.
Teleran returned her kiss fiercely and wrapped his arm around her, cursing his
lack of a second arm. When he withdrew to breathe many seconds later, he smiled
“Everything is certain, with this.”
"Thank you," she murmured. "Thank you."
"No, I will go," she said. "We should let things cool down a
bit."
She walked off.

"Oh," said Diamond, surprised and unsettled. "Do you have any

"Well, keep looking," said Diamond encouragingly. "Maybe Ahjaar
is just getting cold feet about the wedding - it can be a scary thing, or so
I've heard - and what if they're in trouble?" she continued, a dark

Another idea. "Kethiah. She has contacts all over the place, see her when
you get the chance. I expect she is busy right now, but if there's no emergency
you should be fine."
How strange, though. When she had last seen them Ahjaar and Thom had been
getting on nicely, and Luxi was as buoyant and bright as ever.

She didn't like Bob giving out free food, but she didn't have the heart to stop
him from helping poor, pitiable Thom. Instead she slipped out some gold of her
own and put it under the counter to cover Thom's drink and food; she was fairly
well-off these days with the double income of being a barmaid and artist. More
of her paintings adorned the walls.

Telera watched Shai receding from view, not knowing what to do to bring her
back.
When she had vanished from sight, Telera threw herself angrily into the water;
she had screwed up again. Shai was leaving again, and it was Telera’s own doing
again.
Shaka’s words cheered her a bit, reminding her that Shai hadn’t run off again
and they were talking again. Still, frustration was evident in her voice when
she spoke, “Thanks Shaka, it’s just I, I don’t know what. I’m screwing it up
again,” She swam over to where Shaka was and embraced him.

Shaka led the dunmer hybrid to the bank and sat down cross-legged in a
meditative posture, pulling Telera down to sit on his lap, facing out toward
the bay.
"You're not an idiot, beautiful," he said in her ear. Shaka sat for a
while holding Telera, a throne of warm scales. "It's not hard to be here
for you and Anya."
Telera seemed contented. If Shaka had left it at that, it would have been
smarter.
"Tel," he said cautiously, "I'm going to show you the pleasure
meridians. This is the one for the Dunmer race." He placed a talon on a
certain spot near her spine, and sent a pulse of magicka racing through her
meridians. Shaka knew what it would feel like: sitting as an ocean wave crashed
over your head, but without the pain.
Telera's head snapped back, her eyes glazing with ecstasy.
"And this is for Nords." He touched a separate spot on her back, but
regretted it as Telera fell unconscious.
The morning found Shaka lying in his yurt, holding Telera spoon-fashion. He
waited patiently as she slept in. When he could sense her wakefulness, Shaka
spoke gently near her ear.
"I shouldn't have done that, Tel. As with Anya, I don't like to use
gimmicks; too much like a form of assault. . . . I hope you forgive me,
love."

“Nothing to forgive Shaka,” Telera insisted. “That was…a bit hard to describe

Shaka sat up. His tail snaked around Telera's waist and pulled her close for a
moment. Releasing her, he started her lessons. That they were both sky-clad was
a plus.
"I could eat you up, in a non-Bosmer kind of way," he murmured.
"This should work on all the races of Tamriel. Lesson One: the Bosmers . .
. ."
At the end of a few hours of teaching and ecstasy, Shaka cautioned her against
misusing this knowledge. "Those were just the first lessons," Shaka
added. "Quite a few more races to cover."

Anya tapped her foot on her bed. The room she was assigned was
likeable, but expectedly spartan in style.
The men she lead, she found, relied too heavily on their chameleon spells. This
upset her, she was of the mind that people should rely on themselves first, and
use magic to supplement. She had spent the last while teaching them how to be
reliably light-footed in their infiltration, the chameleon spells would only
help now. The Muatramer were well-disciplined, which made training easy enough,
though she found herself cursing more than once. Her skills were innate, and
she wasn't the most applicable of teachers.
The next shrine was to be taken soon. Anya found herself smiling in
anticipation. She prefered working alone, but she accepted this situation.
Being in command was unsettling, but Anya was slowly getting used to it. She
had taken a liking to one Muatramer in particular, a young lad with a keen eye,
stoic almost to a fault.

Slashes-With-Claws slept in his quarters.
The door silently creaped open, a figure entered. It was holding an enchanted
glass dagger. It was a poison enchantment, useless against an Argonian, but a
shard of glass through the heart was deadly to any race. As the Dunmer assassin
approached he saw that the Argonian was sleeping on his back, perfect, a nice
downward strike to the heart. He raised his dagger and brought it down.
Slashes gave a soft hiss in his sleep and rolled over onto his side.
The Dunmer could not pull his strike in time, the dagger plunged completely
through Slashes' left arm and the tip went into his side.
Slashes let out a hissing scream and nearly lept from his bed, yanking the
dagger out of the assassin's hands. Poison coursed through his vains, not
having te slightest effect. He groweled at the Dunmer, showing sharp teeth.
Slashes struck out with the claws of his right hand, the assassin dodged
expertly. After several misses Slashes yanked the dagger from his arm, blood
pumped from the wound. He hurled the dagger at the assassin, the blade struck
him a nonlethal blow. The poison of the blade surged into the Dunmer, he
stumbled and fell to the ground growing weaker. Slashes took the brief respite
to concentrate on his arm, the blood stopped flowing and the wound close, not
leaving the slightest scar.
As the dunmer was about to finally die Slashes struck him in the head, knocking
him out, he then concentrated on the Dunmer, cleansing the poison from his
system. He bent down to examine the unconsious Dunmer. and found a note on him.
Several armed soldiers, ahving heard the Argonian's scream and subsequent
fighting, burst into the room. "Are you alright commander?"
"I am fine." Slashes opened the note and read it:
Slashes-With-Claws
The afore-mentioned personage has been marked for honorable execution in
accordance to the lawful tradition and practice of the Morag Tong Guild. The
Bearer of this non-disputable document has official sanctioned license to kill
the afore-mentioned personage.
At the botom was the seal on the Morag Tong.
He had been marked for death by the Morag Tong. He did not know by who or why,
his mind raced trying to come up with explanations. He took the glass dagger
from the assassin's leg and took the sheath, might be a useful weapon.
"Take him to the prison and lock him away, he will be questioned
later."
After Slashes' men left with the prisoner he decided he would not be able to go
back to sleep. He cleaned the blood off himself, put on his uniform and headed
out to the Nymph & Noggin for a drink to calm himself. He would have to
talk to Loranna later.

will hopefully be continued soon.

Jane smiled as she was led upstairs, well that was easy enough. The office was
a haven from the bedlam of the tavern, she took a deep breath to ease the
tension that had been building up inside her, it was time for business.
“Jane. We have a mutual… concern, an Indoril by the name of Faryon. I want to
be a part of his undoing.” Jane’s green eyes met the woman’s mismatched pair
and realized she would be willing to work with Kethiah as an equal. Strength
was apparent in every movement, every look, the older woman's vitality was
easily perceivable. Fortunate, that the fall of Faryon just might involve the
pleasure of working with such a person.
Jane smiled.

fine weapons and rare artifacts, weapons being the key in Faryon's situation.
Hopefully he'll be interested in business with me and if you're interested,
I'll relay anything I happen to hear back to you. I'd also like to be

Jane's face, in the slightly raised eyebrow and the tightness in her pink lips,
that she was mocking herself. But she leaned on the wall (her crossed arms
making her cleavage situation somewhat precarious, though she didn't seem to
notice) satisfied with her little plan.
"I also have a little stash of weapons you might be interested in..."
Here she smiled her eyes showing her smug pleasure in knowing that she was at
least one step ahead of Kethiah's complaints.

"Let's just say I have no reason to want Faryon among the living. I can

As Slashes-With-Claws stood in the tavern drinking a flin he
heard what to most sounds like a series of clicks and hisses. He recognized it
right away, his native tounge.
The other Argonian said, "Marshbrother, I have not seen one ofour kind in
that armor for sometime. Were you once part of the army of Argonia?" He
was obviously refering to Slashes' uniform, it was after all the uniform of the
argonian army.
He turned to face the speaker, ready to tell all about the armor and his former
servicein the army, but words failed him when he looked at the speaker. The
marshbrother he faced hadtwo horns on his nost, his snout was scarred,as was
the rest ofhis face, jaw, and hands. The frills on his head matched Slashes'
own. "Jei-Set?" Was all Slashes-With-Claws could say. He took off his
helmet.
Jei-Set continued talking in Hist "Is that you Hesek? It is good to see
you marshbrother!" They embraced like brothers.
Slashes also spoke in Hist, "Jei-Set, it is good to see you again my
friend. What brings you to Ald Raathim? Have you come to celebrate? Have you
heard from Ra'Krija?"
At the mention of the Khajiit's name saddness came over Jei-Set's scally face.
"I have not come to celebrate, though I wish I had. Ra'Krija is dead, and
you are next."
This all came as a shock to Slashes, Ra'Krija had been a goodfriend of his. He
told Jei-Set about the Morag Tong attack. "What do you know of this?"
"It is the family of your old master, Alren Dres, who you got your current
name from, Slashes-With-Claws. Apparently they have decided to seak revenge,
why now I do not know, perhaps something to do with the abolition of slavery.
They killed Ra'Krija for information about you." Sadness covered his face,
"They paid for what they did. You are not alone in your death sentance,
there is a writ on me a well."
Slashes was saddened by this too. something would have tobe done, or they would
both be dead as well.
They went on to better topics and continued to talk for a while.

Dar'Tessir woke up in the room that Reeds Saloat had alowed him

Reeds was getting annoyed. After four hours and no Serath, he
gave up on him actually keeping his promise. He might be a priest,
thought Reeds as he got up to leave, but he has alot to learn about honesty.
Noticing Slashes-With-Claws as he was halfway through the door, he went over to
him. Noticing the glowing cut in his left arm, he asked him rather alarmedly,
"What the heck happened to you?!"

"It is an enchantment, not a potion that is upon this blade." Slashes
pondered for a second. "Tell me what you see now." He switched the
blade to his left hand and stuck the blade into the back of his right hand,
blood flowed from the cut, the enchantment took effect, spreading poison

Kratos was extremely pleased with the progress report he had received on Anya's
training technique. They seemed to be heading in the right direction under her
guidance.
Ivelaes stood from a chair in the corner of Kratos' office. "Have you
heard this proclamation from this Indoril Faryon?" He asked, dropping the
piece of paper on his desk.
Kratos removed his glasses and set down the prgress report, and spoke.
"Listen, son. If I am asked for help by anyone, I will submit faithfully.
If I hear that anyone of my friends is in some sort of trouble or another, they
will be supported with the upmost importance. Understand?"
"Yes, Sir. But what of the Shrines? Have you left this Bosmer woman in
charge of the next infiltration?" Ivelaes asked, inquisitively.
"Ivelaes, you are my son and one of my most faithful and able commanders.
You should trust your father's judgement and know that it is for the good of
our order. Understood?" Kratos specified.
Ivelaes sunk back into his chair with a, "Yes, Sir.", and
contemplated the action that they might need to take.

Calm waters... A warm sun shone through the branches of trees
swaying in the wind born off golden grassy plains. Distant mountains capped in
snow stood watch against invaders. Serene and peaceful - It was shattered by
fire. The waters boiled away, the trees burned, and the grass withered. A
blasted waste land remained. A journey was under taken, beyond the mountains,
past foreign kingdoms to a forsaken, heat scorched land where the dead wailed
to the firmament. A horde of knights, men-at-arms, and heroes of all sorts
stood ready for battle, glimmering like the mythic armies of the Dawn, aetheric
and proud.
Rolling waves.
Solin opened his eyes as the water retreated back into the sea. Rolling onto
his back, he looked up to the sky and then down to the horizon. Lazy clouds of
smoke drifted by, his fire was guttering out just beyond the reach of tide,
high on the beach. Red Mountain stood where it belonged, the large peak stood
alone. The Dunmer stood up and with a wave of his hand, re-ignited the fire. He
was half soaked, the sun and the flames would dry his robe out quickly.

A light breeze blew through the city of Ald Raathin as Trason
did his guard shift. Overall it had been a nice day, but when it's a nice day,
the thing that makes it nice is that there is no crimes being commited. This
often meant sheer boredom for Trason. He had been walking the dusty streets of
the city.
"My bag! Help!"
Trason turned the corner and ran right into a body at full speed. It felt like
he was just hit by a raging kagouti or an out of control caravan. He quickly
got off his feet and pursued the man. He was wearing all black, and a hooded
cloak to cover his face
"Typical..." He managed to murmur between huffs.
The man turned into a narrow alley where Trason followed behind less then 10
feet. The figure turned the corner and as Trason turned he noticed that nothing
was there.
Trason felt hot air go down the back of his neck, raising the hair on his body.
Fear struck him harder than ever before.
"It was you, You betrayed them. No one has forgotten. Your a demon in
disguise, you selfish, ignorant, heartless fool" A voice whispered into
his ear.
Finally getting back to reality, Trason grabbed his sword and made a small spin
wielding the blade in a wide arc, hoping to hit what ever it was.
Amazed, he had found out he had hit nothing but the cool air.
"Where are you coward? SHOW YOURSELF" Trason screamed.
"Innocent pilgrims Trason... It was an easy mission, but you failed...
Miserably."
He spun around and swung his sword, but yet again, he was playing with air. He
took a quick double-take behind him again, and saw he was the only one in the
alley.
"Who... What are you?" Trason said as his grip on his sword became
loose.
"Goodbye, Trason."
His sword dropped to the ground as the sound of clanking ebony filled the
alley. Trason stumbled a little bit, and leaned back against the wall. He sat
down on his rear end, his face still in awe, and thought.
Voices were screaming in his head, his ears were bursting. His head was
throbbing like never before and all that could be made out was cries of terror
from innocents.
"NO! STOP! GET... OUT OF MY... HEAD!" He screamed as his voice boomed
off the narrow walls.
Suddenly, the world seemed to spin as everything Trason had been looking at
turned pitch black, and Trason fell into a deep sleep.

Jane's
eyes glinted with delight. Kethiah had just as much said she would agree to the
little venture.
"Let's just say I have no reason to want Faryon among the living. I can
kill him at some point of you like, but I'm sure it will be more fun to play
him until he is ruined." Her face was almost void of emotion but for the
impression something was smoldering behind those dirty emerald eyes. Her
breathing was deep and focused, her presence became almost overwhelming, as she
relished that last thought.
"I trust you want him dead," Kethiah said carefully. That much seemed
to be true. "I am not in the habit of hiring people who don't share with me
their motivations ... I hope you don't mind that I'll be asking Goldcat about
you. But, yes, go ahead and make contact with Faryon, and offer him your
services as a weapons procurer. We'll see to it that he finds that
helpful."
Kethiah and Loranna had already discussed means of cutting off the supplies to
Kragenmoor, but no reason to discuss that with Jane yet -- at least not until
she had proven herself trustworthy. There were plenty of double-agents around
already.

I’ll be catching the next ship out; Molag Mar is where the Muatramer are based, right?”
Shaka waved in greeting to Kethiah before replying, "As far as I know,
yes. I hadn't planned on joining in, but if Number Two wife is set on it . . .
" He had a mischievous gleam in his eye at that one.
More seriously, he added: "I'm not sure offhand how attainable a goal it
is. I know the Shrines are the key links between the faithful and the gods, but
. . . Somehow it seems like trying to turn back the clock. Vvardenfell has been
utterly changed, in any event. And the rebelling Houses have their backs to the
wall. A complicated situation, beautiful."

“Oi,” Telera said at the first remark, Shaka was going to pay for that one
later. For now she moved past it, “You can deal with the politics, I’ll go deal
with slaying the n’wah.”
She added, “Besides the shrines mean something to the Temple faithful, major
boost to morale for our side if we can take them, and it might weaken their
ability to project the false Tribunal too or at least make it harder to believe
they have the Gods on their side if they’re losing the shrines.”
She turned towards the docks, “I got a ship to catch, or force to launch if no

Kethiah laughs. "If you want to know what I'm smiling about ..."
She begins singing a song from her childhood.
"It's Second Seed, lusty Second Seed
That lovely month when everyone wants what they don't need
Tra la, it's here, that shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts merrily appear
Second Seed, For every mare and steed,
When every maiden prays that her lad will be a cad
You feel the greed, you feel the need to breed
Those dreary vows that everyone takes, everyone breaks
Everyone makes divine mistakes
That Lusty Second Seed
Whence this fragrance wafting through the air?
What sweet feelings does it's scent transmute?
Whence this perfume floating everywhere?
Don't you know, it's that dear forbidden fruit
It's the month of Second Seed
That darling month when everyone lets lust supercede
It's time to do a wretched thing or two
And try to make each precious day one you'll always rue
It's Second Seed, the month of "Yes, I concede"
The time for every frivolous whim, proper or im-
Our souls are freed, our lust do mislead
The birds and bees with all of their vast amorous past
Gaze at the human race aghast
The Lusty Second Seed!"
She laughed hard and without rancour.
"Don't think I'm making fun of you, my dears. I'm in love myself."

"And we'll have to see if anyone's planning on taking out that military governor
