The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses

Posted by: Loranna Nov 17 2005, 12:34 AM

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

===

Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855 before starting up; everyone will be happier for it. smile.gifAlso, read http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.

To help you get up to speed, here is http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html told from my character Loranna's perspective. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: I will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.

===

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From there, type /join #Loranna_RP

You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

IMPORTANT: WE HAVE JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW RAIN'S HAND/SECOND SEED IN THE RP (i.e., April/May)

Summary: Shaka has returned to Ald Raathim via the Mages Guild guide, with the rest of Loranna's company.

When Shaka checked in at the Nymph and Noggin, no one quite knew where Telera could be found. Some suggested half-seriously that Shaka ask at the House of Dibella. He decided to try the Arena, though it wasn't his favorite part of Ald Raathim.

Shaka might have missed spotting Telera, had he not caught her distinctive scent near the entrance. It allowed him to narrow her location down to a few rows, where he saw her studying the fighters warming up in the pit.

"Well met, sis," he told her, with a certain irony in the term.

Telera didn’t respond at first, not recognizing the address. After a few seconds she responded though, “Huh? Oh, hi Shaka! Good trip? Sis? I preferred ‘beautiful.’”

"You're always that," he said warmly, sitting next to her. "I picked up something for you in Mournhold." Shaka handed her a golden torc, twin to Anya's and wrapped in a box.

“You know I don’t deserve this,” Telera said affecting gaiety, and gingerly taking the torc. In a more serious tone, “Thank you Shaka.”

"You're welcome," he said. Studying Telera's reaction and scent, he added, "Maybe that was overboard. More enjoyable to buy for Anya and you than to spend it on myself, though." He looked down in slight embarassment.

Shaka wanted to tell her the news of the upcoming emancipation, but it had been forbidden. All Oblivion's about to break out in two days, he thought, but Telera will have to be surprised. A shame . . . .

"The trip was . . . good, overall," he allowed. "Interesting. I'll tell you more than that, someday."

"How are you doing lately? Haunting the Dibellans' doorstep?"

"(Cough)daedra seducer(cough)." Shaka innocently pretended to study the fighters below.

"I missed you in Mournhold. Maybe someday, when the war's over, the three of us could go back and see the sights. . . . Ah, who am I kidding."

Still, Shaka didn't completely dismiss the idea.

“A Daedra, am I?” Telera laughed. “I’m sure Mournhold is a grand place to visit. And going in your company would just add to the appeal. I suppose we’ll have to not let the war bring fighting to its streets then, if you want to visit for sightseeing afterwards. I don’t imagine rubble is near as enthralling a sight.”

Shaka was sobered by Tel's words. He tended to forget how serious the civil war was, when Ald Raathim had been virtually spared so far.

"You've cut to the heart of it, as usual, beautiful. . . . I'm going to head back to the campsite for a while, do some thinking about this week. You're welcome there day or night, of course."

Ignoring a few disgusted comments from nearby spectators, Shaka hugged Telera and took his leave.

OOC summary

Maranda is sitting around Mournhold eating cherries. She has, however, just recieved word that she is wanted back in Ald Raatham, so leaves, upset her cherry tasting days were over. Indoril Faryon, my newest character is sitting in his castle in Occupied Kragenmoor, plotting villanous things for the so called "Traitors" of Morrowind, Hesleth and his Outlander allies, Dres Loranna, and the army of Ald Raatham. His Spymaster, after delivering a detailed report on the state of repare of the city wall has gone to enquire on the wereabouts of Faryon's Daugter, Nibarr, who was last seen at the Maloren Plantation. Nibarr is still at this plantation, looking over the books for the last time before moving on to Occupied Kragenmoor to report to her father... Lets see what Faryon is up to now...

His feet were on the plush velvet sofa, the liquor cabnet was open, and fine silken wares were being plunded from the drawers, all to head back to Faryon Manor. This was Dres Loranna's townhouse, a gift, by House Dres. Faryon had other plans for it... it would become the town stable, where the horses would be kept, before being butchered to be eaten. A place formally owned by such a dispicable outlander, one who DARED mess with the internal business of Morrowind. She in his opinion was Much worse than the half-breed Hesleth, the true plague on Morrowind. Faryon did not mind outlanders, but he disliked outlanders who meddled in the business of his home country, He did, however, like Imperial Flin, he helped himself to another bottle

meanwhile in a mysterious tavern on the road to the Maloren Plantation

Falos Dralin entered the tavern, and looked around the room. His handeler had told him that he needed to cause a commotion, and he would. A small slave riot at the Maloren Plantation, hold Nibarr hostage, and use her as a bargining chip against Faryon. His handler had directed him to an argonian member of the Twin Lamps organization, who was supposed to meet him at this tavern. Seeing as there was only one Argonian in the Tavern, he approched, 'Blood Claw I presume?'

The Argonian looked at the guards aroud. "Perhaps we should." He stood up, his dwarven halibard clattering against his chitin armor. The argonian had a horn on the end of his nose, several scars on his snout, face, and hands, and wore no helm. He walked towards the booth.

"I do know why we are having this meeting." He said.

Staying there is the daugter of the Governer of Kragenmoor. The Argonian was know for his skills when it came to freeing slaves. He had once captured a slave ship in port. "It will be easy. Getting my brothers and sisters to fight for their freedom is not dificult. The daughter will be a little harder, but I think that she can be taken during the confusion. The Argonian 'Blood Claw' took the kay and went to room 104. Sure enough, inside the chest was the agreed upon payment. As he left the tavern, a few drakes heavier, he noticed that a guard was trailing him.

Hmph, these Indoril are persistant, he thought to himself. He led the guard around the town to a back alley, then ducked behind some crates. When the guard rounded the corner into the alley and did not see the Argonian he ran ahead. As he approached the crate Blood Claw jumped out, halibard swinging. the guard did not have time to react as his head fell to the ground in a shower of blood. Blood Claw wiped off his weapon and went to take care of business, he had a slave revolt to plan.

Having worked for the Twin Lamps for years and having been a slave himself he had learned much about starting a slave revolt. One of the best lessons he had learned had come from a runaway slave, Hesek, who had killed his master with his claws. He learned that if the master is dead, or perceived as being a weak master then the slaves are much more likely to revolt.

Summary

Goranthir, Prince of Firsthold, we have not heard from in a long time, but he is still undercover in Vvardenfell, gathering information about the false Tribunal.

Kethiah, ex-assassin and co-proprietor of the Nymph and Noggin, is at her tavern, no doubt greeting Isidor on his return from Mournhold. She has met with Loranna already and gotten the information on the meeting that took place there.

Down at the Arena, where Marein and and Telera were waiting, the next fight was announced.

On the one hand, the boy Marein had mentioned; apparently his name was Fadril, and he was only sixteen. The crowd erupted into cheers when he was mentioned.

Opposite would be some girl. Not much was said about her, and it looked like it was her first fight.

Marein leaned over to say to Teleran, "Take your pick, hmm?"

"All right," said Marein confidently.

The fight would work like this: Three rounds over the next few hours, each round ending with the opponent unable to rise or held at mercy. Between rounds there would be resting and healing time for the contestants.

Fadril, as the favorite, would be permitted to come out last and play the audience, so the girl from the West was set to come out...

There was a drumroll. On the side of the Arena that was Marein and Tel's left, a young woman levitated out onto the playing field; there was a fireball in each outstretched hand; the wind was in her hair, blowing it back and accenting her bright, bright red eyes.

Isidor laughed and said, "Well, I liked it, regardless. It was interesting to hear different viewpoints, on the subject of slavery." He paused for a moment, before saying, "What do you think about all of this? Will abolition have the effect the King wants it to?"

*

"Interesting question," Kethiah said thoughtfully. "Only a fool would underestimate Helseth. He thinks things through and gets his way most of the time, if not all. The question I guess is what effect the King wants, what he's said he wants and what he really wants. I don't know about the short term of causing slave revolts in the Indoril and Redoran occupied lands, and economic chaos ... That sounds likely, but will it be enough to end the war? The long term effects are going to be most interesting ... It may very well be the salvo that decimates the House system and the traditional powers of Morrowind."

Isidor nodded, and said with a smile, "If anything, you should be the diplomat. I think that Helseth is smart to do this, before the Redoran and Indoril have a chance to do it. If he does it now, he can be seen as a savior of the slaves, the great emancipator."

OOC: Reeds has just arrived in Ald Raathim on advice of Serath.

Reeds checked the area around the mages guild for Serath, but was unable to find and trace of him.

Resigned to wait until tomorrow, he rented a room at the Nymph and Noggin, stashed his collection of books in his room, and ordered an interesting sounding beverage called 'Heshkal'.

*

Telera sat down hard. It was Shai, was it Shai? Shai was back? Shai was back! She mouthed the name over and over again, scarce believing it. Shai looked even more beautiful than she remembered her as, which was quite a feat.

She wanted to run down to her at that moment to welcome Shai and screw any regulations about the Arena that separated spectators from combatants. A slightly more rational voice spoke up from a small corner of her mind, ‘She won’t want her fight interrupted just now though will she? Go see her after the fight.’

Once she had recovered from the initial shock enough to speak, she leaned over to Marein, “I win.”

A large cave in the Ascadian Isles

Ondave held a small basket with many apples in it. He placed it on the center of his training mat. Then the young Dunmer walked to the weapon rack at the side of the room. "Hmmm.. maybe I'll try the katana today..." He drew forth a steel katana and walked to the center of the room. Ondave lifted the basket and tossed it high into the air, allowing the apples to spill out over his head. The katana sliced through both air and fruit several times. He counted up the pieces on the floor, "Only four hit...thats pathetic, I need more training with the katana if I am to one day fulfill my duties. For quite some time the boy would practice his skill with a blade.

Vaan sat on the desk of his office, watching Necron pace from one side of the room to the other.

The Old Muatramer was holding several pieces of paper, and was scrutinising them with all the persistance and detail that a former inquisitor should have.

"I've gone over it with all my subordinates. and we've all agreed that it's a good idea, however, the only remaining issue is that of the child."

"I think I know what you are getting at" Replied Vaan. "Too young to deal with it, too old to be re-educated, but too young to be imprisoned, and too old to be consiled with"

"Indeed, fifteen years is just the wrong age." mused Necron

"I was going to suggest something from an excellent piece of Literature, called Poison Song. Where the children of the Sixth House were taken into the other houses and re-educated. We could've tried something like that, only, he's the wrong age." Stated Vaan.

"Well", replied Necron "We'll take it as it comes, that's all we can do, if he tries to kill us without rest, we'll put him in a cell."

Vaan nodded. "Are the Soldiers ready?"

"Yes, let's go" Answered Necron.

Vaan quickly walked over to the nearest shelf, and collected his sword, before strapping it, in it's scabbard, to his belt. A quick frown came across Necrons face at the sight of the sword, one could be forgiven that it came as a result of obvious reasons. It did not.

Ooc Summary:

Kratos, Ivelaes, and the Muatramer that had come to Mournhold with them have arrived back in Molag Mar.
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

The Grandmaster walked the canton, surveying the reconstruction that had been tended to in his absence with a look of approval. The second wall had now been remasoned and the dead had been given proper burials, uninterrupted by battle.

Kratos had decided to promote Mr. Winston to one of his commanders as well as Ivelaes, for their valor in the battle. They would be accompanying Kratos and a few other proven Muatramer on the upcoming missions Archpatriarch Allerleirauh had given him.

Molag Mar

Kratos called the Muatramer that he had hand-picked to join the mission attempt into his office. They looked like a group of professionals in any light.

The door was locked behind them and a map was laid out on Kratos desk. Ivelaes stood to the side next to a red sheet that seemed to be covering something. Kratos brought his index finger down on Mount Assarnibibi as he spoke in a quiet voice. "You all have proven yourselves to me in one way or another and you have been selected to attend these vital missions with me. We take the Mount Assarnibibi Shrine back tonight."

"Do not trouble yourselves with heavy weapons and heavy armor. Our regular uniform is for file and rank battle we will need something lighter for these challenges." Kratos stated, gesturing for his son to remove the sheet. This revealed fifteen suits of Muatramer armor and a sword to go with each, but this armor was different than their regular uniforms, they were lighter and colored black and dark blue. The swords were of very good construction, ebony, but not so much as it seemed heavy; they were actually very light.

"Everyone has been fitted with their own set and they are yours to keep. Now everyone, meet me on the bridge by nightfall." Kratos ordered as the door was opened and the Muatramer began to shuffle out with their new armor.

Night had fallen and Kratos approached the now stealth-ready Muatramer. They were on the bridge in complete darkness, you could hardly tell where they were.

The armor was enchanted with chameleon and nighteye so their foes would be wary to their presence and they would be very well aware of the enemy.

Kratos' armor was specially crafted with dark red pauldrons so they could tell who he was, because the insignias were barely visible.

"You are all worthy of the name Muatramer. On this night some might die, some might live, but you all have more than taken your share of honor." With this Kratos signaled them to move out.

Their pace was good in a slight jog to Mount Assarnibibi. They would reach the Shrine very soon, the enemy wouldn't know what would hit them.

Telera had initially intended to catch Shai after the first fight, but now that she had delayed there had been time for nerves to creep in. What if Shai hated her now? Would Shai even want to see her again? She was still female, and she hadn’t done much of anything to counteract the effects of the potion, Shai could rightly blame her for that, but how much would Shai hold it against her?

Worry at how Shai would react to her and relief that Shai was here and appeared to be okay warred with each other on Telera’s face. Unsure of what to do, she spent the time between fights fidgeting restlessly but going nowhere.

Anya needed to calm her nerves, upset from the nobles, and upset that she had lost control. Enter the arena, she saw Telera. Anya walked up behind Telera and kissed her on the cheek. "Hey sweety, enjoying a good fight or two?"

When Isidor returned from the arena, he was fuming. When he got closer to Kethiah, she would notice a bruise on his arm, and a cut down his face. "That ... man ... is an idiot. I tried to be calm, really, I did, but he pissed me off."

Molag Amur Region

The Muatramer had made good time. They were fast approaching the towering mountain, and the Shrine it harbored. You could make it out very well with nighteye enhanceing your vision.

It would be completely differant with a large army marching on the shrine. The enemy would be alerted almost a whole day before they could arrive. But with only fifteen men, it was very fast. Their footprints would be shielded by the darkness and the sound produced by their footsteps was minor.

A few minutes later they were making their way up the edge of the mountain. They didn't take the mainroad as it would be under guard. They had no knowledge of numbers, only the knowledge to be duplicitous.

Kratos signaled stop as they reached the shrine and saw a fire with thirty Redoran and Indoril sitting around it. They seemed to be eating dinner; their last. The Grandmaster waited for them to finish eating and for them to disperse before they could get at them. They would no doubt be able to kill the Muatramer if they stayed in large numbers, but Kratos wasn't going to make that mistake.

Few remained around the fire while others went back to their guard duties. Kratos signaled, and five Muatramer archers notched their arrows. He gave another signal and the enemy sitting around the fire fell without a sound escaping from their corpses.

Kratos gave Mr. Winston four men and ordered him to take out five guards stationed at the western entrance while he ordered Ivelaes to take the southern entrance with three men.

Shaka stood in front of an apparent wasteland not far from his yurt. He passed a hand over his eyes and uttered the counterspell he had gotten from Slyvos. When he opened his eyes again, the stream and garden were back. Now Shaka wouldn't have to stumble around looking for them. He would teach the spell to the rest of Loranna's group, individually.

He worked around the fishpond for a while, enjoying the colorful patterns on the ornamental fishes' backs. Eventually he tired of the solitude and hiked back to town.

Isidor and Kethiah were away from their tavern, so he returned to the Arena. Shaka saw Anya and Telera talking, so he found a seat some rows away and bought scrib jerky while waiting for the bout to restart.

As Anya walked around, she saw the concern on her face, "What's going on? You look like you've seen an ancestor ghost."

*

Telera almost leapt out of her skin. “Ghost? No. Returned, Shai, wonderful, love, going to kill me, screwed it up, my fault, lied to myself, not like sister, I,” Telera paused to take a breath. “Anya, how are youdoing, thefightshavebeenverygoodsofar?”

As Isidor and Kethiah sat in the stands, waiting for the fight to start, Isidor noticed Ingmar standing at the edge of the arena, leaning on the fence. Isidor frowned, and said, "Excuse me," to Kethiah. He got up and walked over to Ingmar, and the two of them walked away from the arena.

When Isidor returned from the arena, he was fuming. When he got closer to Kethiah, she would notice a bruise on his arm, and a cut down his face. "That ... man ... is an idiot. I tried to be calm, really, I did, but he pissed me off."

*

Kethiah frowned, kissing Isidor's cut and bruise. "I'm sorry, love. You really tried to talk sense to him, didn't you?"

Posted by: Tricrux Nov 17 2005, 07:44 PM

"Try to catch her attention," said Marein. "The fight's about to start."

The crowd was really rowdy now, so Tel would have to be loud to catch Shai's attention. Because so many bets were riding on Fadril and Shai had won the first round, it was vital for many of the spectators that he win now. They cheered loudly.

Both the contestants came out into the arena.

Molag Amur Region

Kratos gave Mr. Winston four men and ordered him to take out five guards stationed at the western entrance while he ordered Ivelaes to take the southern entrance with three men.

*

Mr. Winston and his squad crept up on the guards; they lied prone near a rocky slope 30 yards at the most from the western gate. The guards were all Redoran soldiers, and of course completely unaware of their presence. The guard captain, Mr. Winston presumed, ordered two of his men to patrol a stretch of area. The two guards stood directly on top the rocky slope where Mr. Winston and his men were.

“Alright let’s go back.” One of the guards said.

“No wait. I need to go.”

“Go where?”

‘Well, you know.” The guard was making funky gestures.

“Unbelievable.” The other guard rolled his eyes and turned his back. “Hurry up then.”

A couple minutes later:

“OK, are you done yet?” Silence, the other guard was looking around for his friend

“Relamus you there?” He was now scared and was in a frantic mood.

“Relamus are you there?” He said again, no reply. “You better not-“

And that was his last sentence he would ever speak of. As for the other guards, Mr. Winston would lure them down to the slope, where one of his men would strike him down. The western entrance was secured

Shaka watched Anya's reaction with concern, but knew better than to butt in just now. Telera's rattled about something, and now Anya as well, he thought. What could it be?

When Shaka saw who was fighting the young dunmer, his eyes widened in recognition, though he hadn't known Shai very well. Funny old world, he thought. Shai couldn't stay in love with a Telera who had become a woman, and Tel can't stop desiring women as she did when male.

Mount Assarnibibi

Ivelaes and his three men made their way to the main entrance. It would be a challenge to take out the ten men along the road with only four, but they were up for a challenge.

The chameleon spell shielded them from sight, although the enemy had torches. A slight gurgling sound was made as Ivelaes thrust his sword into the Redoran's trachea. The torch was caught before it hit the ground so the others would not be alerted, and quickly thrust into the dust to extinguish it.

They slowly creeped down to the second and third guards and two Muatramer slit their throats; putting the torches out and catching back up with the others.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth guards were treated to no mercy as three small daggers lodged themselves into the Mer's skulls, killing them instantly. Their torches were quickly put out as well.

Only four remained; this was too easy. Something in the pit of Ivelaes' stomach told him that they were being watched. Just as the final four fell, three Redoran guards hopped down from atop a small hill and toppled Ivelaes and the other Muatramer. They quickly scrambled to their feet and ran to the cover of darkness as the guards searched for them. As soon as one broke for the main camp, Ivelaes thrust his sword into his leg; injuring him. The other two fell like flies as soon as Ivelaes approached the Redoran.

They made their way back to Kratos, with a prisoner.

The Argonian, Jei-Set, aka Blood Claw, made his way to the Maloren Plantation. He planned to scout the location durring the night and with a chemelion ring he would be nearly invisable. He was looking for where the slaves were kept, the entrances to the manor house, numbers of guards. there was a lot that went into planning a rebelion.

Telera hugged Anya, she hadn’t thought about how Anya would be effected by this, she cursed her stupidity in not considering it, then again she still had no idea how it would effect her either. She held onto Anya and buried her face in Anya’s hair.

She gave Anya a squeeze, meant to be reassuring, but likely failing before pulling away. Then she rose and walked to the edge of the stands overlooking the arena pit and yelled for Shai, she needed to know how things stood between them.

Kratos nodded to Ivelaes as he set the tied up and gagged prisoner in a small crevice until they could finish the rest off.

There were eighteen guards left, they had taken most of the Redoran out but the Indoril still held the majority in numbers. Four more made their way to the fire and four arrows delivered them swift painless deaths.

Kratos signaled and they made their way down from the small cliff they had been perched on and extinguished the fire. Gasps could be heard as the remaining enemy troops made haste back to the camp. Four more fell as results from poison daggers and the other fourteen Indoril approached the invisible Muatramer.

The odds were now in their favor as Kratos ordered the charge on the leftover guards.

Faryon pased the room, back, and foward, unhappy at the news he had just recieved.
'He could be a contact,' the guard said, fresh from his trip to the Mysterious Tavern where Falos was last seen, 'he could be there to gather info on your enemies, it was just an argonian, it could mean many things'
'No. I ordered him to go straight to the plantation. Not stop off for a drink... how long intill my Personal Vanguard can be collected, ready for deployment?' Faryon said, pacing up and down the room once more
'A day, maybe two,' the guard said, grimmacing at the exression on the Councillors face, 'Look, they are spread all over the region. Half a day to get messages to them, half a day to get the troops back!'
'Its times like these I wish we didn't eat horses... make it so, I want them to force march here, I want to see myself whats going on at this plantation! Be gone!' Faryon yelled, and the guard scurried out, 'Falos, what are you up to?'

She didn't know how she felt about Telera; it had been months, and Shai hadn't meant for this little reunion to happen until later. Their eyes met for a brief second; then she reacted to the threat.

Her reaction was too delayed. While ideally she would have either leapt out of the way or caught the dagger, she was only able to muster a half-hearted block. The dagger sank into her forearm.

She didn't attack Fadril yet. She waited for him to do something stupid. In the meantime she pulled the dagger out of her arm and tossed it, handle out, to Telera.

Mr. Winston was charging in a steady pace, his target was set as he unsheathed a Longsword from his back. He thrusted his sword into the belly of an Indoril soldier but he parried the blow and countered with a slash to the leg. The blade met flesh, but barely. Winston was down on one knee, and took a hit from the hilt of the sword to his head knocking him on his back. Mr. Winston rolled over to the other side in the nick of time, got up and bum rushed the Indoril soldier head on. Winston elbowed him and quickly made his finish, slashing the Inodril soldiers unprotected neck, blood spewing all over. Adrenaline pumping.

Then she was back in the fight, shuffling out of the spell's way. She weighed her options quickly and realized that if this became a magical duel she didn't know her opponent's skill. Therefore rather than cast fireball or paralysis, Shai used Telekinesis to throw sand in Fadril's eyes, and then moved in closer.

*

Telera didn’t know what to make of the wink, Shai didn’t seem upset at least and this caused Telera to halt in her self-flagellation, but if anything she was even more confused.

She almost didn’t catch the dagger Shai threw to her.

She gasped as Fadril brought his sword back to swing at Shai for the finishing blow and realized she had the arm holding the dagger pulled back to throw. She embarrasedly pulled her hand holding the dagger down, it was an arena fight, Fadril wouldn't kill Shai.

QUOTE(niceguy5 @ Nov 17 2005, 06:55 PM)

Mr. Winston struck down a Redoran soldier, he saw several more move toward their left flank. Three Muatramer soldiers were holding a pitch fight, against a mixed unit. Winston came to the aid but they were struck down by arrows. Throwing a fireball into their ranks, he charged head on with some reinforcements, inflicting damage to both archers and infantrymen and taking casualties as well.

*

Kratos pushed on as the remaining guards were killed. The night had been gracious enough to allow the Muatramer victory. The enemy bodies were rounded up and set ablaze in the firepit.

Four Muatramer were saved as result from minor wounds; the other two were not as lucky. Kratos ordered a moment of silence as the two bodies were gathered up to make the journy back to Molag Mar and a proper burial.

Four Muatramer were ordered to remain at the shrine, in Redoran and Indoril disguise, in order to keep the enemy from attempting to take it back. More Muatramer would come later in the evening to make it seem as if nothing had happened there that night.

They made haste back to Molag Mar with; the bodies, the prisoner, and their honor unbroken. Kratos would put them all in for commendations upon their return to headquarters. They all fought bravely.

After Shai had been healed, and the fighters returned to their corners, the third round was ready to start. Fadril tossed aside his longsword, in lieu of a smaller, lighter, dagger, and his magic. He faced Shai, and waited for her to make a move.

Shai made things short and simple. She cast paralysis and repeated the sand-blinding technique, simultaneously charging and jumping in the air where Fadril's head should be.

*CLANK*CLANK*CLANK*…clunk.
“we have been going around in circles all day….I d’think your doing this on purpose….why would I get us stuck in this hedge maze on purpose?... I havn’t touched a drink for a looong time….and?....ARRRRR!!!! AND WHAT???....and I am preventing you from drinking on purpose?....you know exactly what I mean your doing this on PURPOSE!!!....NO I AM NOT, why would I deny myself the pleasure of fine life for this extended period of time….I’m gettin a hunger…me too…Squirrel!”
Sekka lunged at the squirrel and it slid under the hedge…. “we lost another one….don’t worry we WILL eat this week, seems the squirrel population is growing in the maze…I told you we should have brought a tent….shut up! How was I supposed to know that we would be collectively too stupid to find our way out of a hedge maze…speak for yerself…what ever happened to “your doing this on purpose”…I changed me mind…by Azura where is the exit of this thing!?...there might not be one…yes there is, we were over this last month…its been a month…its been more….two months?....guess again…alright I give up….eight….eight months????!!!....I told you we shouldn’t have come to Highrock….how was I supposed to know we would get stuck in a hedge maze….of course we got stuck in a hedge maze, how could we not get stuck in a maze?....I’m gettin sick of yer sarcasm you puny Dunmer….”
A finely dressed Breton family with several attendants politely moved to the far wall of the maze to avoid the skinny raving dunmer with ripped clothes and dirty adamantium boots that was talking to himself. A small child with the group started to giggle at the poor mer on the ground but his mother shushed him and pushed him along more quickly.
“maybe we could follow them….do you remember what happened last time we followed someone….she was quite lovely….that doesn’t mean she’s up for grabs….well it kinda does, I was lonely….we all are lonely….Squirrel!”
Sekka dashed towards the running rodent…the rodent decided the Breton woman’s blouse was a good hiding spot…Sekka pulled the rodent out of it’s hiding spot…the woman pulled a scream from her throat…her husband pulled his sword from his belt…the attendants pulled the children away…Sekka pulled a hand from the angry squirrels mouth…then pulled the knife from its sheath…then all oblivion broke loose.
Two minutes into the swordfight Sekka began to lose strength, though he was twice the age and size of the petty Breton nobleman, his malnutrition due to a eight month diet of squirrels, a wild dog, some berries, and someone’s leather coat finally caught up to him and he started to feel faint. The Breton (obviously proud of himself) struck the sword from Sekka’s hand. Sekka called up an enchantment on one of his rings, it was a fireball, the hedge maze caught on fire….
Approximately fifteen minutes later a sick Sekka smelling like smoke emerged from the ashes of a burned down hedge maze… “where to next?....Skyrim, I need a real drink….umm we cant really go to Skyrim…oh yeah….hopefully that will blow over soon….I dunno….I’m sorry I screamed that you were a dumb Nord in the middle of that crowd…well they probably forgave that….but not the whole urinating on that nobleman’s dog…..yeah that was pretty dumb…you know he really liked that dog….i remember…I miss snow….”
Sekka started wandering north, somehow he ended up in castle Ebonheart two days later… after about fifteen minutes he was chased away by an angry mob for trying to cast “feather” on a rather large dragon statue. *Clank*

Shaka was impressed; the Bosmer/Dunmer cross was as effective a fighter as he had heard, maybe even more effective after her months-long walkabout. He excused himself from Isidor and Kethiah, promising to stop by their tavern soon.

The battlemage walked down several rows until he stood near Anya. Shaka hesitated before speaking to Anya and Tel, knowing that he was walking into a tangle of emotions.

Anya looked up at Shaka, but kept quiet. She had occupied herself with the fight, watching how. This new boy did seem to favor flashy moves over conservative ones. Shai seemed competent.

Why am I so angry? It's not like I don't love two people...

Anya stood up, but hesitated, not sure where to go or what to do.

The two days Helseth gave his nobles passed, and on the morning of the next day, royal couriers spread the announcement throughout the land; from this day henceforth, slavery was abolished in the Star-Wounded east.

Loranna of course had been expecting the proclamation, and had spent her time making preperations; quietly she had spoken with the Healer's guild in Ald Raathim, with her army's higher-ups, and with the foremen and the captains, setting things up so that when the news hit, Ald Raathim would be ready. Those she spoke to were bemused for a couple of days, not understanding why their Lady asked them to order more supplies or to be ready to expand, but they soon saw the reasoning.

In response to Helseth's proclamation, Loranna put out one of her own:

To the good people of Ald Raathim,

On this day, King Helseth has embraced the wisdom that Ald Raathim has espoused for years - that slavery is not needed for a community to be vibrant and strong. This day shall live in history as a great leap forward for all of Morrowind.

The Redoran and Indoril will doubtless resist the proclomation and try to prevent their former slaves from attaining their freedom. As a free city, we can expect refugees from the Redoran and Indoril lands to seek safety within our walls, as many have done before against the Azurites. New cities shall be built for the newly-emancipted citizens; in the interim, we of Ald Raathim shall extend the hand of friendship to these souls, welcoming them into the world of free people and helping them find their new places in Morrowind and the Empire.

This will be a busy time for all of us; there is much work to be done throughout the providence, and the war continues to rage, taxing our reserves. But our resolve is as strong as ever, and we shall show the world again as we have before what sort of people proudly call Ald Raathim home - free, independant souls who are powerful agains ttheir enemies and generous to all who seek the dream of freedom and prosperity.

Dres Loranna Pyrel, Lady of Ald Raathim

And so, the tradition of slavery in Morrowind heard the first ringing tones of its death-knell - and Loranna braced for the struggle that she was sure was to come.

'Counillor, I think you may want to look at this!' his soldier handed Faryon a pamphlet
'That outlander swine...' he stopped. His personal army was marching down the road to the Plantation... 'My god... we must get there fast! Quick time everyone!'

Meanwhile at the plantation

The freed slaves looked around the house in disbelief. They had slain the three soldiers that were accompanying this dunmer woman, remembering that Falos had told them to take her to the rendevous point... just up the road. One of them had come across the pamphlet and had the bright idea of passing it around all the plantations of the area. Twenty of the slaves begain up the road, whilst 20 more went to free more slaves...

OOC Summary

Reichi Sari is in the Nymph and Noggin, contemplating the recent proclamation of the abolition of slavery in Morrowind.

----

Reichi sat in the Nymph, occaisonally raising his glass of flin to his lips and drinking as he thought. Helseth was indeed very cunning in this, he could both gain some favor from outlanders, who for the most part had dislike and even disdain for slavery, and it would devastate Indoril and Redoran. Reichi himself had for a good portion of his life, been relatively indifferent to slavery. None of his friends or family were in the slave trade, that he knew of, and the most contact he got with them was the occaisonal writ who happened to be a slave owner.

Reichi thought differently now, though. Esspecially after the whole deal with Raithmat. The mer's crueltly was unbelievable. Reichi often wondered why some slave owners, who said slaves were property, went and broke their property. It was inane, like beating on your Guar-cart when it broke, or hit too many bumps and thus made rides in it annoying. Not to mention Reichi had more than enough of the folk of the beast races to know they weren't inferior. Afterall, of the three Azurites spared utter anhiliation, one was a Dunmer child, and other two Khajiit, though of different subspecies.

He wondered how much of tradition Helseth would get rid of. There was still the matter of the Morag Tong, who were the only legal assassination organization on Tamriel. Their purpose however, had been to fight out the House's 'wars', through means of assassinations. Now all the death was happening at once, on the battlefeild, and there would no longer be houses. What then? Would they disband, continue to be exist and be legal, or be outright outlawed? Then what? Would they rejoin with the Dark Brotherhood?

So many questions, and only time held the answers. Reichi took a long drink from his glass, nearly draining it. He was thinking too much, he needed some other form of entertainment. Talking, fighting, running, training. Something that didn't involve him sitting on his ashen rear, drinking and thinking. Maybe I should pay the Arena a vist sometime. Spill some blood, get some gold, fame, and not to mention girls.

Falos looked down the road, the parade of Freed slaves was marching with the lone prisoner. He smiled and approched the leader, 'I thank you for this, What, Might I ask, do you want in return for this noble?'
'You have given us our freedom, there is nothing more than you can give us, friend,' the Argonian said plesantly, as a Parrapton swooped overhead, 'what's that? Falos, you have lead us into a trap!' Over the crest of the hill came thirty or so armed men.
'Faryon!' Falos said in shock,
'Your treachery ends here, Falos!' Faryon yelled, the freed slaves were getting nervous
'I have your daugter hostage! You will cease attacking us now!' Falos yelled
Faryon glared at the huddle of slaves, muttering 'beasts' under his breath, before his eyes went wide... ' Nibarr!!' he rose his arm, and his troops lowered thier weapons, 'What do you want for her, you barstard?'
Falos was not expecting to have to use his bargining chip so early, 'Withdraw from Kragenmoor!'
'You know I cant do that,' Faryon stated, pacing up and down
One of the slaves, however, let go an arrow at Faryon, which, although it struck him, it glanced off the armour. One of Faryon's clansmen fired his arrow, and soon a full scale battle was underway, Faryon injured at the sideline. The Battle was swift. Falos was slain, as were most of the slaves, five were taken prisoner. The soldiers had a go of Sissors Paper Rock to see who would break the news to Faryon, a trooper by the name of Thelas Eddves was the one who had to break the news
'Councillor, I have some bad news...' Thelas slowly stated
Faryon was in pain, slumped against a tree, 'what, where is my daugter?'
'Shes... well sir, shes dead, killed by the Slaves'
'Bring me thier leader...'
'but sir' Thelas said, scared at the look in Faryon's eyes
He pushed himself off the ground as the Parrapton landed nearby, he drew his sword and approched the prisoners, 'There are hundreds of them, freed slaves, converging on this point, its best we dont stay!' The scout yelled urgently
'Get this message back to Kragenmoor. Kill every slave in the city. I dont want one left alive... what are you looking shocked about? Go!' The scout bowed, mounting his Parrapton and returning in the direction of Kragenmoor, turning to his remainder troops, 'Kill the prisoners, we cant afford to stay here for much longer' the soldiers went to thier grizzly task, as Faryon stood over the mutilated corpse of his daugter. That Loranna Pyrel, she did not deserve the noble name of Dres, she was to blame for this... He said a quick prayer to the Three before casting a flare spell on the body. As his soldiers massicred the Slave Prisoners, he cried for his daughters loss

Posted by: Shardie Nov 18 2005, 02:08 AM

Kragenmoor

'He ordered WHAT?' the garrison commander yelled
'Lord Faryon Ordered all of the slaves in the city slain' the Parrapton scout whispered
'Who else knows of this?'
'In this city? Just you and I' he handed the commander a pamphlet, it was a copy of the one in Ald Raatham, the commander read it over
'This is bad news indeed, but somthing like this would not have had the Counciller to do somthing so rash...'
'Also, his daughter was slain by a group of escaped slaves, and there was nothing he could do' the scout replied
'Ah, gather up all the slaves into the holding bays. We shall NOT carry out his orders at least not yet. I dont think he was in a right mind when he issued them. If he still feels the same way when he returns, then the slaves will all be in one place, that is my order,' the Commander of the Garrison replied, as the scout bowed and went to spread the orders

Slashes-With-Claws was both stunned and overjoyed at the news. He realized that his greatest dream had come true, within his lifetime his people would be free, no more would they be oppressed by the dunmer slavers. He sat in the Nymph & Noggin, drinking Heshkal, and contemplating. Perhaps Helseth was not such a bad guy after all. Slashes had ordered his men to be ready in case they were needed, who knows what the reactions of people would be to the news.

Morrowind

The Nymph and Noggin was filled with merchants, traders, sailors, soldiers, all giving different accounts of what was going on in Morrowind after the King's announcement. When Kethiah had verified accounts with one than one reliable source, she put accurate information on the bulletin board outside the tavern to try to keep rumor and misinformation to a minimum.

Among the announcements:

The reports of rioting in Mournhold are baseless.

The reports of rioting in the Indoril-controlled city of Tear are accurate. The freed slaves have taken the docklands, and stolen most of the ships.

The Dren Plantation in Vvardenfell was the scene of another riot, with many deaths on both sides.

The reports of a riot in Indoril-controlled Kragenmoor is inaccurate, though all slaves within have been arrested and many have been killed.

Reports of rioting in Narsis have been unsubstantiated.

The rioting in Bodrom Mora has been overstated. The slaves in the Indoril-controlled region have escaped north with relatively little loss of life.

Riots in Vivec were indeed quelled by a group that calls themselves Vivec, Sotha Sil, and Almalexia, however the Temple calls those Redoran and Indoril allies "imposters."

The reports of riots in the Dres-territories to the south are inaccurate. Former slaves are being relocated and organized according to their interests, with no troubles reported.

The reports of riots in the Hlaalu-territories to the east are inaccurate. As in the Dres territories, former slaves are leaving or staying as is their wont.

Five ships filled with slaves wanting to live in Ald Raathim arrived late that afternoon.

Ald Raathim

The scene in Ald Raathim was not quite a riot, but a joyous celebration the likes of which outshone even the Harvest Festival, for it was spontaneous.

The three taverns, the Nymph and Noggin, the Drunken Guar, and the Bloody Sandal were all filled to bursting with cheering people. The party spilled out into the streets, where musicians began playing, and everyone was dancing.

The temples of all types threw open their doors, giving blessings to the grateful faithful.

The new Magister of the Ald Raathim Mages Guild, Zadion, brought his mages up to the roof to treat one and all to a display of pyrotechnics that lit up the sky.

The newly arrived former slaves joined the celebration, and made it even bigger, more joyous, though there were plenty of tears too.

'Blood Claw' made his way back to Kragenmoor. He had not been with the slaves escaping the plantation. Everything had started going well, the slaves were freed, the daughter captured. He had watched the parade of slaves from a distance as they made their way out of the plantation. He had watched as one of them had been too eger with his bow and had doomed almost all of them. Blood Claw would have liked to intervine, but the odds were poor in the battle, and by the time he would have gotten there the battle was over.

When he got back to Kragenmoor he read the announcement. Reading about the city of Ald Raathim he decided to make his way there once things in Kragenmoor were taken care of. But first he had a few old friends to look for, some former slaves he had met and worked with durring his time with the Twin Lamps. Among them were a Khajiit named Ra'Jila and a marshbrother named Hesek.

Only those people whom Loranna had spoken to in the prior two days had any inkling of how much hurried preperations had gone into setting up the newly-emancipated slaves' welcome; thanks to the Lady's efforts, the new arrivals would have places to to sleep that night, and come the next day they would find a number of opprotunities waiting for them - the army would welcome any who had the will to fight and a strong arm, the builders of the new Freetown-like cities would be looking for workers willing to help build new homes, the school was open for new students. These opprotunities and more awaited for those who had made it.

Loranna was swept up in the celebration, having gone to greet the arriving former slaves as the Lady of Daruhn; from afternoon to evening she spoke and danced, and cried tears both joyful and sad, for as many slaves as had made it safely to her city and others, there were many who had not made it, either due to the recent riots or due to harsh conditions over the years taking their toll. It was a day for celebration and also for rememberance, the Emancipation of Morrowind.

During the celebrations one Egalius Soccitus was heard to remark "You know, this is the second time in a year's span that we've had refugees come here; you'd think we were making a habit of it." When he was riled for making such comments, he protested "Hey, I'm not complaining! It's job security, you know!" He was last seen having been dealt thunderous buffets by a coilation of barmaids and apprentice healers, and hiding in a corner of the Drunken Guar where the flin was still plentiful and the shadows were deep.

Shaka walked through the festive crowds in some wonder. Someone, maybe Solange again, had stuck a gold canet in the fringed sheath of the Spear on his back, and he left it there as he had at last year's Early Harvest Festival.

Loranna and Ald Raathim were proving as resourceful as had been promised. The only thing that gave him pause were the reports of slaves being killed. Naive of me to think Emancipation would be as logical as a tax proclamation, he thought. As he had suspected, though, there seemed fewer revenge killings by slaves than some had predicted. Many of the manumitted just wanted to get on with their lives and work, or were still trying to take in their new freedom.

The die has truly been cast, Shaka thought. If Helseth is remembered for nothing else, it will be for this day.

Shaka had hugged Anya wordlessly at the Arena a day before, knowing the bosmer loved Telera as much as another bosmer, Shai, had once done. Telera's reaction, Tel's choice, was still unknown.

"Did he?" Kethiah said, brushing her dishelved hair out from her face. Even in the "down time," she was keeping her eye out on what was happening in the tavern. Some of the more exuberant bartenders had been pouring free drinks, which was fine in spirit, but could have easily drained the bar if they kept it up. She had corrected them, and apologized to the people who had come running in for more free drinks. "What does the note say?"

Kethiah said, brushing her dishelved hair out from her face.

"Just that he hopes to come back day. Mentions that he still loves you; says he feels bad about what he did. That's about it." Isidor said with a frown.

For most of the journey back, what was on Faryons mind was 'what did I do? why did I give that order?' He was happy, then, when relitivly cooler minds came into play and recinded his order
'The city seems pretty empty, commander,'
'Those troops not guarding the walls, are guarding the slaves. What should we do with them?' he asked
'They will make good hostages... What of other reports?'
'I hear the riots were bad in Tear, very bad, they took the docklands...' the commamder said, no emotion in his voice whatsoever
'Do you think we can get help from the Sload? If slavery is abolished, one of thier principle sorces of bodies will dry up...' Faryon wondered out aloud
'Im not sure if its the Sload way to act so rashly... Anyway there have been riots on Vvanderfell, but I hear they have mostly been put down... I am not sure about Bodrom Mora or Narsis, though... we are, however, getting conflicted reports from the Hlaalu and Dres. Our spy in Ald Raatham states that there are no riots... but I believe that to be mear propaganda'
'Hesleth has dug his own grave. What of the Televani?' Faryon asked
'Still no word, as mysterious as ever...'
'Send out feelers to various Dres Hlaalu and Televani slave holders... see if they are willing enough to side with us... As of the hostages, make a proclomation. For every right arm of an escaped slave handed in to us, recieves a twenty five gold, fifty if the slave bracelet is still on. Furthermore, for every good citizen of Morrowind that is slain by escaped slaves, we shall slay two of our hostages' Faryon finished
'Are you sure?'
'Yes, I am, Get the Parrapons out with this message post haste'

***

Two hours later, various pieces of parchment could be found around Ald Raatham, one stated this

To all good citizens off Morrowind! The outlander hethen of a king may have banned slavery, yet as his rule is unjust, and based on murder and blackmail, as his position is a symbol of Imperial control, we ask you to disreguard his latest proclomation on the abolishment of slavery, on the count, that he is not the rightful ruler. If slavery was to be abolished, the Tribunal, the true rulers of Morrowind would proclaim it, yet they are fearcely opposed.

Do not be a traitor to your nation! Ignore this hethen king's decleration!

To all slaves who have eloped from thier owners!
This is a warning! For every good citizen of Morrowind slain by you rebellious slaves, the millitary governor of Kragenmoor shall execute two slave hostages, one Kajiit, one Argonian. Do not let your blood brethen suffer, return to your owners, and you will be greeted back with open arms!

and the third, was aimed at the bounty hunters

An open writ of execution
To all bounty hunters and people of ill repute, the governor of Kragenmoor is offering a bounty on escaped slaves. If you bring an escaped slave to Kragenmoor alive, you will recieve 100 gold. if you bring thier right arm, you will recieve 25 gold. If you bring thier right arm with a slave bracer attatched, you will recieve 50 gold

OOC Note: Far too much to quote, so I'm probably reacting to a bit of everything.

Reeds was amazed. Swept along with the cheering crowd dancing and singing in the streets, he joined in after awhile in the merry occasion. after all, he reasoned, it's not everyday you get to see your people freed from slavery.

Once this idea entered into his head, he celebrated harder than what one would expect of a normally quiet intellectual. One thing was certain, he would be sore in the morning.

Once he saw the announcements fluttering about, he felt shock, then anger, then disgust, then an interesting mixture of pity and loathing. If he ever saw someone taking up one of these offers...

Jei-Set was near Kragenmoor, just outside the city. He wanted to do something to help get the slaves free, but there were too many guards.

Suddenly a scratchy voice called out to him, "Well, well, we got a live one here." Jei-Set turned to see three dunmer with swords. "Drop the armor and spear and we'll take you alive."

Jei-Set drew his dwarven halberd, "I am no slave, softskin."

"You sure look like one with all the scars, I guess we'll have to settle for twenty-five gold." The dunmer noticed Jei-Set's money pouch. "And anything he has in the purse." The three approached, overconfident in their skills and their opponent's lack of them.

Jei-Set swung the halberd in a wide arc, driving the bounty hunters back. When one of them charged he had the point of the weapon shoved at his head. The dunmer dodged just in time to avoid a fatal strike, as it was he lost an ear. The dunmer were fighting now more out of rage now then desire for money. Jei-Set shifted, dodged and kept the weapon moving, making it almost impossable for the hunters to get close to him. Finally one thought he found an opening and attacked, he realized to late that it had been a feit, he died with a piece of dwemer metal through his heart. The other two bounty hunters, reaalizing it was not worth twenty-five gold to keep fighting and seeing that they were likely to lose, they ran.

Jei-Set put his halberd back on his back and ran from the scean of the fight before anyone came to investigate.

Serath remembered.
He had gotten to Ald Raathim, and contrary to what he had told Reeds, he had not met him. He had gone straight to his room in the School, and spent 3 whole days reading, praying to His Lord Julianos, meditating - was slavery really to be abolished? should slavery really be abolished? He didn't know the answer to those questions. Sitting on his room's floor, a book open in front of him, he heard the crowd outside cheering, probably Argonians and Khajiit celebrating their bondage's end. Serath had had enough medidation. He decided to leave the school at last, and see if he could find Reeds and Master Nalion, who he hadn't met yet. he figured out that they would probably be celebrating, along with the rest of Ald Raathim, outside, so he left the school and went to join the crowd.

Reeds was throughly enjoying, for the first time in his life, a mild state of drunkeness from a few too many glasses of Heshkal. He really liked that drink.

He grabbed someone by the arm and began to spin around with the confused dunmer in time to the music playing in this part of the street. Noticing the mer struggling to escape, he looked over at his impromptu dancing partner. He recognized him, and instantly embraced him with a cry of "Serath!"

Telera found the paper just shortly after reading the notice put up by Loranna. She had been incredibly surprised that Helseth was ending slavery. She hadn’t thought he particularly cared much one way or the other on the issue. Telera had never really thought of the issue overmuch; she had spent most of her life in Vvardenfell, Redoran lands, and could not remember seeing slaves and so had never considered buying one. The only thing she did think of slavery in was that those who had enslaved Anya and slain her family deserved all the pains they could receive.

The new proclamation drew a bit of indignation from her, after all some of her favorite people were ‘heathen outlanders’ and the ‘Tribunal’ he spoke of was a sham, so arguing for their authority was ludicrous. Telera somehow doubted that slave would be welcomed with open arms as mentioned in the second section and she only skimmed over the bounties, the dagger though, showed far more interest in the proclamation, not in the hundred septim bounty though, just the other two.
‘Hmm, why is he only limiting himself to two slaves per Dunmer killed, he should go far beyond that in the populations where the greater percentage of slaves escaped from, could get far more entertainment that way. And those that return can be made excellent sport of, put their punishments on display for their insolence in escaping.’ After several long minutes spent detailing these punishments it did mention the bounties, ‘Hmm, be like shooting fish in a barrel here, how many escaped slave do you imagine we could run into without trying? Do you suppose you get a bonus if you attach the slave bracer to the arm in a particularly creative manner?’

Telera busied herself trying to shut the dagger out and not think too much about the second proclamation.

"Gods bless you, Reeds! You know you can't drink anything but juice, remember?" - Serath said with a worried look - "What in Julianos name are you thinking... Well, I have some people to talk about before I go to my night rest. I will surely meet you again tomorrow, and I hope we'll be able to discuss your job at the School tomorrow, so I'll meet you at the Nymph and Noggin at 11.00, ok?"

With that, Serath left and went to look for the argonian commander, Slashes-With-Claws, asking people if they had seen him.

'Propaganda, my dear friends! Thats what this is, mear propaganda,' Faryon said, as an Argonian and a Kajiit were brought to a hastilly constructed platform, before over 100 gathered slaves, bound and guarded in the main square of Kragenmoor 'At least that is what some of you think! A good citizen of Morrowind, one trying to capture one of your escaped and misguided brethren was slain! By the proclimation, I shall hereby slay two hostages. This is for your own safety not just ours. If your bretheren stay safe, and do not harm any of our troops, surrendering back into our custody safely, then you shall live. If not, you shall follow your companions,' a wave of the hand, as a ebony axe ripped off thier heads, 'As a warning to all slaves who dare think of harming any good citizen of Morrowind, these heads will be placed on a pike at the entrance to the city! Take them away!' Faryon finished, as the slaves were lead away. Behind him were the two bounty hunters that Jei-Set had encountered earlier...

News of the execution would spread fast. Faryon would insist it would...

"Greetings, serjo" - Serath said with a light bow - "My trip to Mournhold was great! I happened to meet an old friend of mine, and got him to join us in thr prosperous Ald Raathim community. And how was your stay, I trust you kept peace well? Still, I digress. I was looking for you, serjo, to ask you your opinion on something which has been troubling me. I was not with the rest of the Ald Raathim comitee when they met King Helseth, and would thus like to hear your thoughts about it and about these recents declarations. You see, I think the opinion of someone such as you would be interesting to hear indeed, being a guard officer and that. How do you think the population in Ald Raathim and its surrounding lands will react to this - more specifically, will they answer the Declaration's call to deliver escaped - or dead - slaves to the Indoril? And how will the army and the guard deal with those who do?"

From out of the gates of mournhold, came a single column of 10 Muatramer. At their head, walked Vaan and Necron.

They were headed for the residential district of Almalexia, to catch their prize, to continue a plan made a little while ago now.

The column stopped at a designated house, pointed out by Necron. Heads turned.

The Muatramer pulled down their visors. Two of their number approached the door of the house. There was a pause, and after a few seconds, Necron nodded.

The door was kicked in, the Muatramer rushed through...

The occupants of the house were taken completely by surprise.

The first couple of muatramer went for the occupant who was considered most dangerous. The husband mer. the Spy.

the next two chased after the wife, who had ran scremaing into the bathroom, she did not fight them, and they quickly took her.

Vaan came next, and he went straight for the boy. who stood gaumless. he was taken, with trouble, once the shock died, he screamed and struggled against Vaan's firm grip, to no avail.

All three were taken outside, bound, and black hoods put over their heads (so that they did not know where they were going). The boy struggled the most, but his parents did nothing.

The column left again. two stayed behind to clear things up. Under normal conditions, they would be Killed, save for the child.

Such is the fate of the enemies of the Temple. Under normal conditions.

Shaka was reading the proclamations on the Nymph and Noggin's notice board, and found himself feeling murderous for a change. He was tempted to make his way to Kragenmoor and kill this military governor himself.

So much for my sanguine feelings about this day. Maybe the old guard are more bastards than I thought.

QUOTE(Loranna @ Nov 17 2005, 10:33 PM)

Faryons Office, Kragenmoor

'What we are after is an emotive response. What we want is for thier army to come to Kragenmoor, where we shall slaughter them' Faryon finished
'So it is mearly propaganda?' his garrison commander replied
'No, we will act out on what we said... however, let us hope it is enough to get an emotive campain underway led by those Marsh lovers at Ald Raatham...' Faryon replied, as two guards escorted an Argonian into the room
'This lizard has information in reguards to the riots that took place earlier' the guard stated, 'he has been checked for weapons, nothing.'
'The riots where my daugter was...'
'Yes, I do,' the Argonian replied, 'I can tell you who organized it. There was a dunmer called Falos, and an argonian called Blood Claw (an alias)'
'I've heard that name before' the Commander said, thinking aloud, 'A member of the Twin Lamps, infamous for freeing a slave ship at port...'
'A writ! A writ on his head! 1,000 gold, no 10,000! The murderers of my daugter shall not go unpunished!' he turned to the argonian, 'Thankyou for this information,' he reached into a small pouch on his belt and withdrew a 100 septim coin, 'your a slave, right?'
'Chalur is, my master was kind to me, thats why I wanted to report this,' Chalur replied
'Very well, your free to go. Do not intervene in the business of Morrowind again, take this coin,' he handed Chalur the coin, to the guards, 'Take him to the pass, he's earned his freedom, Svadas, contact the Morag Tong, I want a writ on this Blood Claw's life' he said to Svadas, his garrison commander, who immediatly went to get the Morag Tong associate. Faryon knew, that soon there would be at least one writ on his life... he had to make precautions, 'Svadas,' he said to his commander, as he was about to exit the room, 'get Andala in here, he looks similar enough like me to pass as a double...'
'Yes sir,' the commander left the room to Faryon and his thoughts

Telera beat the tabletop with a fist as she laughed to the point of tears. Between helpless bouts of laughter she managed to squeeze out, “Sorry…couldn’t…resist.”

Posted by: Loranna Nov 18 2005, 07:19 PM

Meanwhile, back in the castle, Loranna is reading various reports, the phamplets circulated by the military governer of Kragenmoor sitting on her desk.

She had expected slaves to be endangered due to the abolishment of slavery, had expected the Redorans and Indoril to try and make some sort of counter-proclamations. The military governer's phamplets had brought a frown to her face but that was all.

She had already asked Kethiah for all the available intelligence regarding Kragenmoor and this Indoril Faryon, and was reviewing the reports they had of his previous exploits while waiting to hear from her Spymaster. She rather suspected when Kethiah spoke to her again, she would bring news that other occupied territories were following suit with proclamations of their own, essentially trying to terrorize people into ignoring the new law of the land.

As Loranna was gathering information in preperation for some sort of action, deep in the south of Morrowind, Gram Pyrel, called Gram the Bold and Gram Twilight Slayer, was learning of the recent developments in the classic Nord fashion ...

"What do you mean, the King freed the slaves!?" he roars as his axe Frostkiss sinks into the flesh of the Indoril who made the mistake of attacking his Argonian guide. "And Finds-His-Way isn't even a slave, you oaf!" he spat to the now half-frozen and rapidly dying Dunmer crusader. Around Gram, the sounds of conflict between the small band he had joined up with and the Indoril and Redoran squad that they had run across rang clear for miles, as Gram grumbles "I'm always the last to hear of these things ..."

OOC: Well here's my first post, I hope it'll go over alright

IC, Ald Raathim:

The streets of Ald Raathim were packed with the celebration following the declarations made by King Helseth and then by Loranna. If you were standing on one of the many balconies of the establishments lining a certain street you would see the crowd swiftly opening up before someone dressed in black who seemed to have no problem making their way towards their goal apparently Nymph and Noggin. Looking closely you might notice that the people jostling out of the way weren’t doing it of their own volition they seemed to be shoved aside by some sort of barrier. One angry reveler attempted to hit the person from behind just as they came to the tavern’s door. The reveler’s fist hit the barrier as the person opened the door to the bar and without looking back went inside.

Reigning in the amulet of protection’s spell Jane pulled back the hood of her black cloak and slowly took in the sight before her. The Nymph and Noggin was busy, every table full of people, a continuation of the chaos that was going on outside. Spotting the bar and a harried woman fitting the description she had been given working behind it she headed over resisting the urge to use her amulet knowing it would merely create a disturbance. Halfway across the room a drunken Breton boldly pinched her behind. Coldly turning towards him she pushed the front of her cloak over her shoulders revealing a tightly fitting black robe with a plunging neckline. A jeb pendant cradling a red stone hung from a gold chain around her neck. She raised a perfect brown eyebrow as she addressed the man and the noise level ebbed slightly.

“I’m sorry darling,” she purred as she traced a finger along his jaw line, “but I’m pursuing something else right now. Why don’t you sit down, finish your drink, and I’ll be back later?” She had drawn the attention of most of the bar so she only needed to make eye contact with the nearest barmaid in order to get her attention. “Could you get this darling a refill please? Put it on my tab.”

It was now easy to make her way across to the bar as the noise level returned to it’s previous level. She wasted no time addressing the woman she assumed was Kethiah. “A mutual friend, Goldcat, suggested I come talk with you.” Her voice low but not a whisper, the phrase wouldn’t be noticed by any of the drunken patrons and was spoken in a common place way that would hardly draw the attention of anyone on the more sober side of drunk.

Telera was still chuckling as she slid another drink to Sekka and some septims to the Khajiit for recompense recompense. Halting her laughter for a moment she said, “No, I accidentally used a potion, polymorph, though I didn’t know it at the time, and Poof! I was a woman, been like this for over half a year now. I think it was supposed to wear off by now, but it didn’t. So here I am, Telera, at your service.”

Kethiah pulled back the lock of hair that had fallen over her left eye, and looked at the young woman. The two eyes of different colors, one fiery red and one bright violet, took her in, and then she nodded. "I have a private office upstairs. Follow me."

It was a simple room, but very quiet.

"What's your name, and why did Ya’Tirrje think you should talk to me?"

(OOC -- I'm outta here for the night, and probably the weekend, so if this conversation can wait, cool, if not ... Um, we'll assume that Kethiah got called away for a tavern emergency and had to leave it with apologies.

Have fun all!)

Telera burst into helpless laughter again. She ordered another round or two of drinks when she was able and spasmodically burst out into laughter. “Sorry, I should have told you first thing.”

Telera’s eyes bulged. The she flushed, she had forgotten about Sekka’s inability to control himself around women, or rather, forgotten that it now applied to her. She grabbed Sekka’s offending appendage and bent the fingers back in the wrong direction as she removed it from her person.

She said as coolly as she was able to manage, “The Barmaid’s are still after you then?”

Jane smiled as she was led upstairs, well that was easy enough. The office was a haven from the bedlam of the tavern, she took a deep breath to ease the tension that had been building up inside her, it was time for business.

“Jane. We have a mutual… concern, an Indoril by the name of Faryon. I want to be a part of his undoing.” Jane’s green eyes met the woman’s mismatched pair and realized she would be willing to work with Kethiah as an equal. Strength was apparent in every movement, every look, the older woman's vitality was easily perceivable. Fortunate, that the fall of Faryon just might involve the pleasure of working with such a person.

Jane smiled.

“Well, I screwed that up, didn’t I,” Telera said to herself. “Note to self: tell people you know outright rather than jump around the point. Maybe I could have avoided that particular incident then. Still, Sekka does need to stop that before I, er, someone, hurts him more seriously.”

Telera headed over to the House of Dibella and up to the second floor to Maranda’s room and knocked on the door, “Maranda, are you here?”

A description was also supplied to the Morag Tong, prominent scars on his snout, a large horn on his nose, and a smaller one. The Morag Tong were excelent assassins. An assassin quickly traced 'Blood Claw' from the scean of the fight. Jei-Set had found a secluded place to rest for the night, he had drained much of his magicka on chemelion spells after the fight.

The assassin approached, but had not thought that the Argonian would be cunning enough to make a simple alarm trap. Using clutter and some wrope he had made a trip wire that made a loud clatter when tripped. The overconfident assassin tripped the wire.

Jei-Set was awake almost instantly, his halberd at the ready. Although the Morag Tong were good assassins, when it came to a straight fight they could be beaten by a skilled warrior. The dagger was no match for the halberd, the halberd sliced open the dunmer's throat, he twitched on the ground for a bit, blood pumping from the severed artery.

when the flow of blood stopped Jei-Set dragged the dead assassin to an empty crate behind a store and dumped the body inside, at least he would have some time before they found the body.

Jei-Set then ran, he activated his chemelion ring, it had a strong enchantment with a good duration, but it only held enough charge for a little under three uses. His magicka he would spare untill he needed it.

“Sure, thanks,” Telera said, taking a cherry, “It’s been working out fine. To be honest, I’m a bit worried about changing back if the potion suddenly wears off, after what I’ve heard about possible maladies it could leave me with. Commander Slashes-with-Claws milled about, enjoying himself greatly. He noticed an argonian that appeared rather well dressed for a slave and approached. He recognized the marshbrother as Reeds Saloat, the one he had met in the Nymph & Noggin earlier. "Reeds, I see you are enjoying the party, and the drink." Slashes noticed that Reeds had a heshkal in his hand. The tavern would probably run out of the drink, as it was poisionous to the softskins the only market was for argonians, and normally there wern't many in Ald Raathim.

After spending his last coin for a mead in the Nymph & Noggin Dar'Tessir joined the revelry in the streets. He was just as happy and celabratory as any, though not as drunk as most. With his keen night vision he spotted coins on the ground, many of the revelers had dropped change. He knew it was unwise to outright steal, though he could have easily, aided by the drunken stupor that most were in, he could not pass on the opportunity to pick up the lost money.

(After returning from Mournhold, Trason quickly went back to the military tower to find out his orders)

Trason was on guard duty that night.

He was patrolling the streets for any sort of disturbances which there had been alot of, but Trason didn't mind. The local Khajiit and Argonians were running down the streets cheering at the abolishment of slavery, and Trason couldn't help but smile. The look in these people's eyes were filled with true joy, which was wonderful to see. For far too long slavery has been going on. He had just hoped that these Indorils would be stopped.

It was a nice night in Ald Raathim, put aside the drunken stupors which seemed to have people unconcious outside the local taverns. As long as nobody started any trouble.

Posted by: syronj Nov 18 2005, 11:05 PM

Night over Ald Raathim. Shaka and a former Dren plantation slave were drifting over the town, faces illuminated by the blue glow from the bull netch's hydrogen sac. Shaka peered over the wicker basket's side, and smiled to hear the faint sounds of music and laughter.

The male Khajiit pulled a guide rope attached to one of the bull's poisonous tentacles, and corrected their course to starboard. A pole was sheathed near his foot, wrapped in cloth at one end with the scent of a betty netch; it was another means for spurring on the bull netch, or changing his course, when held in front of the creature.

"Time enough in the days to come to worry about the future," said Shaka. "They've earned their celebration this night."

Castle Daruhn lay ahead, its windows blazing merrily with light. An observer of life as always, Shaka had felt like an aerial view for some reason. The Khajiit gently steered the netch away from the bluff, and circled the town for a while longer.

"I've heard the Dren plantation is running," said Shaka idly. "The late Duke's brother must have started it up again after the Azurites were destroyed."

The night was quiet at altitude, except for the characteristic drone of the netch. They would never match the parraptons for speed and power, but flying suspended from a bull netch had the advantage of flight duration.

The streets of Ald Raathim – or indeed any city in Morrowind – were abuzz with emotion, here joyous, there conflicted, in all places ambulant. Arynel walked silently through the streets, eyeing the citizenry passing by, taking in the shops and houses that lined the roads. Ald Raathim had grown so fast, and was perhaps no longer what it was once. The Breton headed away from the buildings and the people; he headed towards the waters of the inner sea and waded in silently.

The emancipation had stricken the Redoran and Indoril very hard. They were no longer attempting to scout the citadel. Instead, they were trying to get the slave uprisings under control; which left the Shrines of Vvardenfell susceptible to recovery from the Muatramer.

Two of the stealth Muatramer reported back to Kratos, telling him that the Fields of Kummu Shrine had been captured and secured. Apparently, there were not but a few guards stationed at the Shrine, which Kratos had suspected.

The next Shrine would take careful planning to attack. Infiltration would be needed for a shrine inside of a city, this they would need to prepare for.

Anya leaned over a railing on a balconey in the castle that overlooked Ald Raathim's new life. In her hand was a crumpled peice of paper that held the proclamtions from Kragenmoor.

She had calmed down considerably over the past couple of days. Instead of irrational anger, she felt cold determination.

She stared at the new slaves arriving. Lotus hovered next to her, listening to her idle remarks. "It's utter chaos in Morrowind."

She looked at the last part, outlining the job put out to all the bounty hunters and mercenaries. She looked at the cliffracer, "I'm not doing much here, am I? What do you say to going to Morrowind?"

Kratos had put the Muatramer through vigorous stealth training, but they still seemed to be rather new to the whole idea of covertness.

Two dead Muatramer; empty spots. Kratos could reach into the barrel and fish out a few more, but those two were prime candidates for tese missions. The Grandmaster would have to add more to his small force to make it effective again.

She had neglected to tell anyone in Ald Raathim what she was doing, though the dockmaster knew her well enough and could say where she went, should someone ask around for her.

She smiled coyly, though nothing was playful about her, "Rumor has it that you're just shy of talent needed for you're latest endeavor. Kratos smiled. "It has been a long time. The last time I saw you, you were slaughtering a few Redoran and Indoril in the battle. I hope Ald Raathim hasn't been overrun with former slaves as we have almost become. Although we do welcome them as a Temple hostel." Kratos remarked.

"You couldn't have picked a better time than now to show up. You are well known to the arts of stealth and we are in need of an experianced infiltrator. We have collected two Shrines here on Vvardenfell, one at Mount Assarnibibi, and one at the Fields of Kummu. Right now, I was deciding on which target to go after next. The slave uprisings have given us perfect opportunities for capture." He stated, in a calm, low voice.

He brought his gaze back to the map and poked at the location of Maar Gan. "The Shrine of the Magic Rock would be a good place to start. A small town, not very well defended; this would be wise to take." Kratos finished, looking back at Anya.

Anya looked at the map, "I could handle that, I guess. But why are you taking just shrines right now?"

Kratos walked out from behind his desk and gestured for Anya to come in, closing, and locking the door behind them. "The Temple cannot remain powerful in the eyes of the people without the Shrines. People need to be able to receive blessings to keep their faith strong. Allerleirauh, Her Grace, had ordered me to recapture them so the New Temple might gain back the footholds of respect that are being taken advantage of by His Majesty. We simply don't matter much to him, it would seem. Sure we take cities here on Vvardenfell while he prepares his individual conquests, but we are simply resources that have become ... expendable to him." Kratos said; he offered Anya a chair and decided to stand behind his desk.

"By taking them back, and holding them, we could show him and everyone else that we protect the people's religion; viciously if need be. For the enemy to proclaim themselves the believers of the true Tribunal faith is blasphemy at it's worse. You and I know this well. We must show everyone that we are the true Temple to worship, propaganda and all." Kratos finished.

"Do you still wish to aid us? I promise you'll be able to get your hands on plenty of Redoran and Indoril." He laughed.

"You speak with strong conviction. That, even if you are expendable, will keep you and your men alive."

Anya sat down, and eyed Kratos, "But, don't forget that I don't hold that same conviction. Temples, Tribunals, worship, none of those are my motives. I don't care to show people who should be worshipped, or who is blasphemous."

"But you are a friend, and I will help. Show me the people you have trained, and I'll see to it that the shrines are taken with minimal fuss."

Kratos unlocked the door with a telekinesis spell and sat down in his chair. "I understand, Anya. You can hold your beliefs and I will hold mine. This doesn't require an act of loyalty to the Temple. You act as you wish, and I respect that." He spoke in a soft voice.

"I thank you, as for seeing the troops; you may see them as soon as you wish." Kratos whistled and a guard came into his office. "But come, my soldier will show you to quarters fitting a good friend for the night." He offered.

Tommorrow would prove either the day to attack, or the day to train.
