The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses

Posted by: Loranna Oct 31 2005, 08:03 PM

Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.

Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:

===

Newcomers, we ask you to
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855 before starting up; everyone will be happier for it smile.gifAlso, read http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.

To help you get up to speed, here is http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html told from my character Loranna's perspective. This summary doesn't cover everything but it sums up some of the bigger events our campaign has covered. Note: I will probably update and edit this summary as time goes on.

===

This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!

'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.

So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:

1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although most people realize they can't harm another person's character without permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing, saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the player involved.

2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations), political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From there, type /join #Loranna_RP

You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.

Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them.

Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

===

IMPORTANT: WE HAVE JUMPED SIX MONTHS INTO THE FUTURE; IT IS NOW RAIN'S HAND/SECOND SEED IN THE RP (i.e., April/May)

Summary for Loranna: Loranna has just recently had the pleasure of meeting Dimonds parents, the Lord and Lady Moonguard, and had a brief lesson from the Lord Moonguard about the importance of a noblewoman to use noble manners instead of barmaid manners when in public. She has also found herself wishing to redefine noble manners for the good Lord and Lady of Moonguard ...

Summary: Shaka, an Argonian battlemage, has travelled to Sentinel to speak with King Lhotun. He's preparing to travel to the House of Dibella in Cyrodiil in order to change to his true nature, Ra'Gada. Shaka is waiting in the royal zoo while Lhotun talks to his sister, Queen Aubk-i.

Posted by: Stargazey Oct 31 2005, 08:08 PM

ooc: Isidor, male nord, is talking with his lover Kethiah about Ingmar, who is applying for a job at the Nymph and Noggin, and happens to be an ex-lover of Kethiah. Oh, and though it isn't known yet, they're half brothers.

Tsei's in the Nymph and Noggin drinking, after talking with Slashes-With-Claws about going on a date.

Tyradil and Tilitalia are doing schoolwork.

Summary

Falco Redflash, male argonian rogue, is currently being tortured by Helseth's men. Surprisingly enough he has managed to make a few jokes to really piss them off.

Eats-With-Claws, male argonian warrior, is currently sulking around Ald Raathim, and generally feeling sorry for himself.

Summary

Goranthir is still undercover in Vvardenfell. His exciting tale will be told anon.

Kethiah is at the Nymph and Noggin, telling Isidor of her past relationship with the head chef they are considering hiring.

Helseth is in Mournhold. His torture-specialists are at work on Falco. They sometimes pretend to be pissed off, but they know that they will get the information they need out of him, as they are the best in the business.

King Lhotun and his sister Queen Aubk-i are in Sentinel at the royal zoo. They are about to have an audience with Shaka.

Posted by: syronj Oct 31 2005, 08:52 PM

When King Lhotun was at last free to talk, Shaka bowed and expressed wishes for his and his sister's health, and mentioned that he had been part of the company of adventurers some seven months ago when the King had aided the rescue of Lyssia.

"Your Majesty, some people believe that a king's or queen's touch can heal. What I'm asking is more complicated; a sample of blood for this vial. If I'm asking too much, perhaps I could ask one of your court instead."

Shaka went on to explain about the ingredients required by the House of Dibella before he could change to Redguard, omitting the discovery in the Spheres of the Gods of his true nature.

The Argonian waited for Lhotun's reply.

And he received it.

(OOC -- Gotta head out, but I told Shaka how it would go on this bizarre request to ask a King, albeit a benevolent one, for his blood).

Summaries:

Lord Aristos and Lady Nobella of Moonguard, having arrived in Ald Raathim, made fools of themselves in front of the entire Noggin. They flipped when they discovered Diamond as a barmaid, and eventually left to seek shelter in the House of Dibella. Their new plan is to get Diamond to marry Tris.

Marein stood up for Diamond.

Diamond also stood up for herself. She does not want to go home.

For years afterward, Shaka was to remember the afternoon he talked with King Lhotun and Queen Aubk-i. At first in the royal zoo, then in the gardens and near the four pools, and lastly on cushions in the palace while candles burned with their exotic scents.

In the end, Shaka bowed and took his leave, saying a courtier's words that he had read once but were nonetheless true: "To hear your words is to live, O King."

Shaka claimed the Spear and returned to Daruhn. It felt like an evening for the Nymph and Noggin, and talking to his friends.

After another day of furthering Ald Raathim's interests, Loranna heads to the Nymph and Noggin, wanting a mead and a chance to relax. The late evening held the promise of more alchemical experiments, and then the arms of her husband ...

"Hello dears," Loranna says as she enters, signlaling a barmaid to bring her a mead. "How has the day met you?"

Posted by: Tricrux Oct 31 2005, 10:09 PM

Diamond brought a mead over and, seeing others coming, prepared a few more drinks and then stood near Loranna.

"It's been a crazy few days, hasn't it? Falco, and then my parents..."

Isidor frowned. "Well, I wouldn't be happy if it was me." He kissed her, for a moment, and then spoke. "I'm fine with it, as long as it doesn't bother you. We've all done things we'd rather forget in the past, like my experience with that courteasn in Daggerfall."

"Anyway," he said, shaking his head before speaking, "as I said. If it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me."

*

Isidor, Kethiah and Ingmar talked for a while after that. It was allright with Isidor if Ingmar worked there, as there was nothing between him and Kethiah and anymore.

After the conversation about employment was over, the conversation shifted to more enjoyable matters.

And, at one point, Ingmar mentioned his father's name. Isidor realized, with some surprise, that it was his father's name too. After more discussion, and some other questions, it became evident that they were related.

When Loranna entered the bar, Isidor looked up, still amazed that Ingmar was his half brother.

"Hail, Loranna! I'd like you to meet my brother, Ingmar. Er, rather, half brother."

"It went better than I had a right to expect, Dres Loranna, " said Shaka, settling into a table with a dark beer. He briefly took a crystal vial from a pouch; the blood gleamed crimson in the firelight.

Shaka included others of his friends as he recounted the day in Sentinel. "The audience with Lhotun and his sister Aubk-i stretched out longer than any of us had anticipated. They turned out to have a quality not common among royals or the rest of us: the ability to see beneath surfaces."

"The king was reluctant at first to donate his blood, understandably. Who could say what ritual it might be used in, if I weren't telling him the truth? As he pointed out to me, he had to think not only of himself but of the good of his people. And as he said to me at one point, while he remembered that I had been among the company who rescued Lyssia, 'I don't really owe you anything, Shaka.' "

He paused to drink from the tankard. "But somehow we made a breakthrough; we had been talking about the nature of a being's identity. What is it to be a free being; what does it mean to be Ra'Gada?"

"Lhotun and Aubk'i discovered I had more of the Redguard spirit than I had realized; to be a warrior, but more of a loner or adventurer than a soldier in the ranks."

"And eventually the king agreed with the strange request for Redguard blood. But on the condition that I visit him again when the change is over, that he might see the Redguard who waited within."

Loranna grins at Diamond, though her epression still bears some marks of worry. "Indeed Dimond; surprises await every day ..."

Upon hearing Isodir, she quips to Diamond "See?" before turning to greet Ingmar. "Hello; welcome to Ald Raathim, Ingmar. I see you and Isidor have been doing some catching up ..."

Loranna wonders how much of that catching up involved Isidor's tale of exile and death in his home village; there didn't seem to be any overt hostility between the two half-brothers, yet still Loranna had a funny feeling ...

Then, when Shaka told his tale, she blinks, saying " ... This is a day full of surprises; congratulations Shaka ..."

"Thank you, Loranna."

Now Shaka knew why the Nord had seemed familiar. He reached over to shake Ingmar's hand.

"Good to hear, Shaka. I hope you get what you're looking for." Isidor said, somberly.

Ingmar smiled at Loranna and said, "Thank you, m'am. I hope to enjoy my stay here, however long it might be."

Ingmar shook Shaka's hand and said, "A pleasure to meet you, Shaka."

OOC Summary

Reichi had, while lounging about the Nymph and Noggin, managed to briefly join in on standing up for Diamond by pointing out the only difference between a noble and a common was wealth and social status, and that he, who had been grouped with the others of less class had killed several House Nobles, which managed to scare the Lord and Lady of Moonguard somewhat.
---

"Quite full," Reichi concured with Loranna. "No wonder he looked familar..." Reichi said, glancing at Ingmar. "And Shaka, that will probablly work out rather well, if a King's blood, has any bearing on the transformation. It'll interesting to see what you look like after its all done."

Isidor and Ingmar looked like they both wanted to do some more catching up; Loranna let them talk among themselves, knowing that when Isidor was ready to discuss his newfound half-brother, he would.

"I wish I'd been present for your conversation with Their Majesties," Loranna says to Shaka. "I imagine it must have been interesting - especially after our experiences last year."

"I wish you could have been there also, my Lady. I should have taken Anya and Telera. Anya expected to travel with me - - I'm not sure what Tel is planning these days. But as I told Anya, I'd hope she could go with me to Cyrodiil and the House of Dibella at least. I have to admit I'm a little nervous about returning to visit Lhotun as a Redguard, if all goes well, but it's the least I can do."

"I understand congratulations are in order, Loranna. No wonder you seemed to be glowing when I spoke to you in the mirror."

"Thank you," Loranna says, smiling. "Tris says I'm being foolish telling everyone before it's obvious; as I told him, the next time I'll not let people know right off the bat."

"Still ... it's some cheer in wartime, which is good. And I'm glad to hear your own quest is coming along well; I had been wondering how it would go. So everything is set now?"

"And I wouldn't worry about you returning to King Lhotun; I'm sure he'll see what we all sw," she adds with a wink. "A handsome Ra'Gada with an easy smile."

Shaka would have blushed if not for the scales; he did seem to turn a lighter green for a second. "That's kind of you, Loranna."

"My quest is set, I think; hopefully my gift of Beauty to the temple will be acceptable. I have a couple of ideas, partially from Telera and Anya."

"An odd thing has occurred to me, though; fatherhood is outside of my experience, but if I become Redguard I will have to be prepared for whatever the future holds."

Shaka was thoughtful over what that might mean. Marriage? Even children, though he felt set in his ways. Whether for men or mer in relationships, there would always be consequences, and next steps.

"Fatherhood is on several peoples' minds nowadays, I should imagine," Loranna says with a small smile. "Or I suppose we should say parenthood, since it's on my mind as well."

She looks at Shaka for a moment, debating bringing up her own parents, or the fact that so many of their friends had had problems with their parents. It was so prevalent among their circle of friends, it probably didn't bear repeating.

Goranthir, undercover in Vvardenfell, made some pie.

Posted by: S'reddit Nov 1 2005, 03:26 AM

Kethiah helped Tyradil and Tilitalia with their homework, and then came downstairs to make sure everything was going smoothly in the tavern. She smiled, but her mind was occupied. Isidor wanted to know how many men I've slept with right away. Clearly, he's the jealous sort. But then he agrees to hire on one of my former lovers, and then, upon discovering that he's his half-brother, seems delighted. He is either different than I thought he was. Kethiah thought. Or this situation is going to explode in all of our polite faces.

When she saw Loranna at the tavern, she motioned to her. There was news.

In reality, Isidor was not different then Kethiah thought. He was just amused. In all honesty, what were the chances of this? 1 in 1,000,000? As long as Ingmar kept his hands to himself, and if it didn't bother Kethiah, things would be allright.

For now, Isidor was sitting at the bar, drinking mead. He would've liked to have asked, "Who was better?", but he bit his tongue.

"The date for Falco's trial is the day after tomorrow, with the execution to follow immediately if he is found guilty, which he almost assuredly is. Slashes-With-Claws, commander in the army of Ald Raathim, is busy keeping his troops trained and making patrols of the surrounding area.

But other things are on his mind.

He pondered exactly how he would handle the dinner that he would have with Tsei. He decided he would go with as close to a traditional argonian meal as he could. He would have to buy a small animal, just enough for the two of them, he would let Tsei make the killing bite. Perhaps he should make more of the tasty marsh drink he had made yesterday. The drink, heshkal, is poisonus to soft skins, but harmless to, and popular with, argonins. He had no time today to have the dinner, he had too much work to do, but perhaps tomarrow.

Ingmar frowned slightly, and said, "Well, I never meant to discomfort you." He stood from his seat, and looked at her, more closely.

"Isidor's a lucky man. I think I can manage to grow comfortable here, if everyone is allright with me being here. Kethiah, you broke my heart, before. Don't know if you realized that or not. It took me a while to get over it, but I'm over it now. I will try to work here, and if I bother you, well, you can fire me, can't you?" He said, with a smile.

Kethiah's eyes softened at Ingmar's words.

"Oh, you think it'll be easy to fire Isidor's brother?" she said with a small smile. "I'm having trouble telling you to stop drinking, get off your butt, and get to work. And if you talk to any of the staff, you'll know that I normally have no problem telling them to do that."

Morunhold

Helseth's skilled men and women did their job well. Falco was cracking. He had stopped insulting them entirely, instead simply screaming in agony as one insidious device after another was used to cause him excruciating pain.

Finally, after non-stop torture for what seemd like eternity, he did something he had never done before. Falco Redflash begged for mercy, saying that he would tell them all he knew if they would just stop.

A flock of cliff racers exploded into the dusty sky, reacting the the rumbling footfall of the approaching Redoran and Indoril army. They found refuge in the cave of Assu, not to come out until the soldiers, passing on towards Molag Mar, were gone.

They were at least a day's march from Molag Mar, but close enough for intelligence to come to Kratos, telling him of imminent danger.

Shaka had begun the first efforts to physically camouflage the trail from Ald Raathim to his home. Besides felling a number of trees at strategic points, he planted many shoots of a bamboo-like tree that should grow quickly. He couldn't cover all the trail, but he could at least make a start.

The yurt itself was similarly covered with branches and planted around with fast-growing bamboo and other vegetation. He decided to cut blazes in certain trees to allow those in the know to still find the trail; perhaps coded daedric lettering . . . .

At the end of the day's work, Shaka sat on the log bench before his yurt. The bench now more resembled a fallen tree, but he had kept the view of the bay clear for now.

Shaka was engaged in something he had thought to outgrow lately: brooding. It was almost time to travel to Cyrodiil and attempt to Change to Ra'Gada, but he would be travelling alone. Anya and Telera had chosen not to accompany him on the quixotic effort.

Even so, his brooding wasn't as deep as it would have been the previous year. Perhaps Shaka had grown up a little, as had most of the others of Loranna's company.

Vivec

It had taken some days to be accepted into the folds of the Church of the Tribunal, the new faction on the island of Vvardenfell which held tightly to the belief that no member of the Tribunal was dead or even gone from Morrowind, as Goranthir understood Vivec to be. Still, it was simply a matter of being dour, and pious, and spitting on anything that wasn’t Dunmer in origin.

There were bonfires throughout the Redoran, Arena, St. Delyn and St. Olms cantons of Vivec, where books, clothing, furniture, anything that was Imperial or foreign was burned.

Goranthir had talked to many true believers in addition to Helseth’s spies in the city, but the faithful seldom have great insight on themselves. They knew what they had seen: Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Vivec were walking among them.

On the second day in Vvardenfell, Goranthir had a stroke of luck, meeting someone who introduced him to Moonstone, the archcanon of the Church. He was a simple, unremarkable-looking Dunmer of middle age and modest dress with eyes like fire. Goranthir guessed he was mad, but there was little doubt of his charisma.

Moonstone told him that Vivec himself had seen Goranthir (or, Galos, as Goranthir called himself in Vvardenfell) and would visit him soon. Apparently, Vivec was impressed with Goranthir’s faith. Apparently, Vivec was a poor judge of character, Goranthir thought.

He reported what he had heard to Helseth’s spies for dissemination, but he was careful. Goranthir’s job was to find out who the false Tribunal were – and he wanted to make sure that if whoever was pretending to be Vivec actually was going to visit him, he would give him no reason to be suspicious.

He knew Allerleirauh and Tris were watching him, and he hoped they were watching him often. Despite Helseth's spies being present, he felt very much alone in a hostile world.

Posted by: Slashes-With-Claws Nov 2 2005, 09:01 AM

It was early morning in Ald Raathim, Slashes-With-Claws was at his desk finishing up a report for the general.

there came a knock at the door and a voice, "Commander Slashes-With-Claws?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"There is a crate for you at the docks." A ship had come in not long ago and was busy being off loaded.

"I will be there shortly." Excitement showed on Slashes' scaly face, but to most people it could have been indigestion for all they knew. He dropped his quill in the inkwell, strapped on his claymore, grabbed his fur helm and was out the door in moments.

It had finally come, after months of waiting it had finally come. It had cost him a lot to get it all the way from the marsh in the middle of a war, but it was worth it. He told the dock workers to take the crate to his room.

In his room he opened the crate, it was stuffed with dried marsh reeds for padding. On to was a letter, written in argonian script. Following is a rough translation:

Most honored son,
If you are reading this then, amazingly, the crate made it. It took a lot to get it there, I sure hope it fits. Your mother and I are most happy to hear from you and hope you are well. Things are very quiet at the fort here, we have seen no slave raiders for months. Your mother also sent a few herbs she thought you might find useful in your alchemy. Be sure to come see us and the rest of the clan when the war is over. May you be sunned and warm, and may your claws strike deep.
Your Father
PS: I told you that stuff you wore was too light.

Slashes put the note to the side and dug into the dried reeds, soon uncovering a dark green helm. The helm was of most unusual design. It was open faced, but had a piece that looked like it was suppoes to protect the nose, but the nose piece was not at the right angle for man or mer. It had eye holes to the sides of the nose piece, but they were in an unusual position. The forehead of the helm was decorated with the red outine of an eye. the back of the helm was spiked in design.

Slashes put his fur helm aside and put on the new one. It fit perfectly. He tapped it with a claw, the hard metal clinked. Finally, he thought, good head protection. He had been wanting something better since the battle of Tel Silgrad, an arrow had torn through his fur helm and grazed his skull. Had the arrow been at a different angle he would have been killed.

Slashes continued to search the box, he pulled out pauldrons and bracers, and then a cuirass. the cuirass was scale metal, more flexable than solid plate, but stronger than chitin, leather, or even bonemold. Slashes had learned that the light chitin was not good in large battles, it could not take a strong hit.

He searched again, the greeves had a nice hole for a tail, and one more piece in the box, foot shields. Finally, some foot protection, durring Tel Silgrad an arrow had gone through his unprotected left foot. It was imposable to find any foot armor for an argonian around here.

He took of the chitin he wore and doned the new armor. It was heavier than he was used to, but still flexable enough for him; he would need to practice with it though. The armor fit perfectly, it was nice to actually have armor that did not need some alterations to work properly. In the bottom of the crate was a small box full of herbs and plants from the marsh, they might prove useful.

slashes put his light armor away, it still would be useful for stealth and ambush, the metal armor clinked too much.

Slashes strapped on his claymore again and stepped out into the town in the armor of the argonian army. He had only been able to get the armor because his father was commander at a fort.

In the back of his head one more thing came to mind, he had a dinner to plan.

Kethiah's only reaction was to leave the immediate vicinity, seemingly on other business. She was a woman who seldom stayed in one place for very long.

At the door, she met Kallen. The castellian was out of breath, and less composed than usual.

Molag Mar

The information had reached Kratos all but too fast. It was overwhelming, but expected. With Molag Mar being the only city completely under Temple control an attack wasn't surprising.

The Muatramer had been roused and the fortifications had been activated. The canton was locked down and archers stood on the top near the plaza. There was no way they were going to be caught with there pants down now.

Kratos stood near the archer lines, giving orders and pointing toward the giant dust cloud that was approaching. They were ready but Kratos knew they were massively outnumbered. Kratos also knew he had an ace up his sleeve, however. The Indoril and Redoran forces couldn't reach Molag Mar for quite some time. In that time anything was possible.

Ki'airre is in the Nymph enjoying a Cyrodiilic Brandy. Meanwhile his soldiers are hard at work creating a suit of armor and sword to go with the armor.

Stormsurge stormed through the complex heading straight towards the forge. "Shadow Fox! Forgemaster Shadow Fox! Stormsurge was infuriated by this comment as it was a particullarly insulting one. "Do you have the armor ready yet?! Lord Ki'airre was here a short while asking for progress. Now the blasted suit better be done by the dawn of next month!"

"You.... You.... I will have your head if the job is not done by the end of the month is that understood?!" This sent Shadow Fox over the edge and into a torrent of swearing, insults, and many, many other rude comments. it all began with... "Why ye Skurmin filthy [censored] [censored]!"

"The situation's serious," Kethiah said carefully. "Even with reinforcements from Ald Raathim, the Muatramer in Molag Mar will be badly outnumbered ... If you ask what I think, I don't want you involved in something that will be pure suicide if the Imperial fleet is late in arriving."

"Molag Mar is about to fall under attack. A fleet is already on its way, but it will not make it in time. The lady Loranna has asked for men to reinforce the troops at Molad Mar. This battle will be the most dangerous yet, if the fleet is late we could all die." Slashes knew that a man that was not willing to fight was more a danger to his own men than to the enemy. "If anyone is not willing to die in the defense of Molag Mar, you may leave now, I shall not report it to the General. I will return shortly." Slashes left his troops for a few minutes.

A few of the men murmored about the comming battle, but none left. Slashes returned, and to his delight, seeing all of his troops still waiting for him.

"Very well men, prepare to move out." Slashes and his men dispersed to prepare for the battle.

Ivelaes had heard. Molag Mar was going to be attacked by a massive force of Redoran and Indoril. The thought that Grandmaster Kratos was his father still burned in his mind, but he knew it was his Muatramer duty to head back with the troops of Ald Raathim.

A family confrontation would have to wait, the only thing standing between the Redoran, Indoril, and an invasion of the mainland was Molag Mar.

Ivelaes had packed his things, including the letter from his mother, and made his way down to the docks, in full Muatramer armor, to wait to ship out with the other troops.

The fishermen shared the docks with Ald Raathim's small six ship fleet. Half the ships were being deployed out to Molag Mar, and were being hurriedly packed up.

One old fishermen looked out to the red-cast sky, and said. "It's a blood sky, so there's trouble ahead. I guess the only question is for who."

As Vaan entered the docks, his mind drifted to an old philosophy made by Himself, in his CC years:

If you are fighting, be it physically, verbally, or in your own head, make sure you carry on fighting. Do not forget that while there is a drop of that deep red life-fluid inside your body, and while there is a fragment of life still inside you, you are still useful to yourself. Do not give up until life gives itself up in you.

A nice philosophy to have right now, and Vaan had taken it to heart all those years ago, where it still remained.

"You idiot," Kethiah whispered, to herself as much as to Ingmar as he left.

The sails were unfurled and the three ships pushed off to sea. The winds were light, but the fishermen who had already been out in the Inner Sea thought that they picked up offshore. The soldiers prayed it was so.

Molag Mar

Kratos stood on top of the canton, surveying the fortifications he had ordered to be set up. It looked like a complete citadel now. Ballistas decorated the top of the canton with a deadly feel. Portions of the canton were fortified with arrow slits, so the archers were well protected and the infantry would be protected on the bottom as well.

One fortification that was dire to hold was the inner and outer walls that had been set in front and around the bridge into Molag Mar. The mountains and ocean offered the best protection of all. They were almost inpregnable, the walls were the only thing to worry about holding.

The dock was intact for reinforcements, but if it became a liability Kratos had ordered it to be destroyed at the first instant of fear from enemy penetration.

Kratos didn't expect an entire army to levitate onto the canton, but he prepared for it anyway. The archers could handle any flying menaces that attempted to land on or near Molag Mar.

The only things to do now were to, order his troops into position, make sure the citizens of Molag Mar were safe deep inside of the canton, and wait ...

The Inner Sea

The three ships caught wind not far from the coast, and with full sails bounded over the waves eastward toward Molag Mar. The wind was brisk and cold, smelling of spring rain. The skies overhead continued to glow with fiery blood clouds.

The Akarvina, Goranthir's ship, was the fastest warship in the fleet and led the way, but the two other Altmeri-designed vessels, the Cululaire and the Estwe, followed close behind.

The soldiers beat their drums and roared their battle chants in anticipation.

Goranthir's heart was beating hard. He had seen her. And, worse, she had seen him ... and had smiled ...

He started to go to one of Helseth's spies to tell him about it, but -- well, there wasn't anything to say, except that if she wasn't a Goddess, she was something like one. You could feel her power, her magnificence.

Goranthir returned to the temple. But it was empty. The Goddess had left it.

"She'll be back, though," said Moonstone, smiling at the handsome young Dunmer. "She liked you."

"Sprinkling" the CC felt like a bad idea now, but it was natural to feel that, Situations always had a habit of making former plans feel rubbish, nevertheless, his mind was confident of victory, or at the very least, Surviving.

He held up his hand, and a magickal flame formed around it, causing a smile to spread across his face.

As arround him men hurried about and shouted warcrys, he stood with an apparent calm, his face showing no decernable emotions. His mind was busy deciding on tactics. He and his men would position along the top tier of the city, bows ready to rain death on the approaching enemy below. Slashes had also purchased more flame burst arrows before boarding, a great way to clear several men at once.

Ald Raathim

Trason had been out of the picture for quite a while, doing odd jobs for the military, and some freelance work. He happened to actually come across that ebony armor, which he wanted so dearly. Luckily, the person who had it had a very large bounty on their head.

He rose from the bottom deck of the ship, only to be blown back by the cold sea air. There were alot of familiar faces, but no names popped into his head. The last real fight Trason had been involved in, was most likely that skirmish in the woods. This was war though, so it would be a rather large scale battle. They were to arrive in Molag Mar soon enough, so Trason mentally prepared for battle.

"Don't underestimate any soldier, they could be just as good as you"

"Strike fast and hard"

"Your shield is your friend, let him help you"

"Dont be afraid to ask for a hand, we are all fighting for the same reasons"

"Kill"

I wonder where my father is right now, she finds herself thinking; Gram had a nose for battles, maybe he was heading to Molag Mar himself, on one of the ships from Barenziah's other allies. She closes her eyes and touches her belly, briefly, feeling a pang of doubt cross her mind ...

He wondered if it would be night by the time they reached Molag Mar, if so he could get a chance to exercise his Lycanthropic side on the Redoran troops. If not Reichi would have to sate himself hacking Reddies up the normal way.

But what fun was in that?

"Really, you ask me why when I say no, and you ask me why when I say yes," Kethiah laughed, kissing him back. "I think I decided to say yes a while back, while talking to Loranna and Dragon about my illogical reasons for saying no. And then, when I was talking to Ingmar, and I stumbled when I was trying to figure out what to call you -- partner was too cold, boyfriend didn't seem right, and lover seemed a little intimate ... I realized then that I really wanted to call you 'husband.'"

There was more to than that, but that seemed like ample enough explanation.

Kethiah took his hand. "Now, why don't we celebrate upstairs? The barmaids and stewards can take care of the dinner crowd for one night."

QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Nov 3 2005, 07:18 PM)

Isidor smiled, and laughed. "I love you." He took her hand, and they went upstairs.

Fade out.

The Inner Sea

The red-gray clouds of south Vvardenfell grew ever darker and the winds picked up in intensity. Lightning flashed in the clouds, linked together in chains, but no rain fell.

The mist on the crashing waves of the sea looked like ghosts.

It was a rocky ride, but they were moving fast.

Loranna's hair whips around in the wind, and she ties it back in a ponytail - but then that simply lashes around as though it had a mind of its own, first slapping Loranna in the face, then straining as if to leap off her scalp.

A sense of unease settles into the pit of Loranna's stomach; she didn't like the feel of this storm, not at all. She remembers the reports of Helseth fighting at Dagon Fel in stormy weather, and frowns again.

Please, let this not mean what I think it means, she says to herself.

Mr. Winston, an old man, Cleary around his sixties was one of the veterans of the war.. He sat around other soldiers in the middle of the deck, who he came to love of course, they were like brothers to him. All of these people were brothers, cousins and fathers. Mr. Winston himself was a grandfather of nine, but a fool just like the others, to so willingly throw his life into battle. He wore what they wore of course, Bonemold and carried a trusty, sharp Steel Claymore. He looked into the our stretch water, and he had such an odd feeling, he knew he would not survive for one more fight.

The water and the sky were both so dark with clouds, it was hard to get ones bearings, and the tossing the sea didn't help. Only the constant lightning kept things illuminated enough that people could see where they were walking across the rolling deck.

Pockets of red still appeared the clouds. Two smears of red overhead, a curl further down ... In fact, it looked as if it were forming into a face.

Many of the soldiers on the deck would be out of the fight until they reached Molag Mar, sickened by the rough seas. Shaka heard another trying bravado, telling his mates "We're on the express strider to Oblivion, leaving the station now!"

Shut up, thought the battlemage. He didn't like the looks of the clouds ahead . . . .

Loranna by now has moved away from the sides of the ship, holding onto a rail on the side of the cabin as best she can.

Yes, it's what I feared, she tells herself as she sees the clouds forming the semblance of a face. He's come to play ...

Her worries comfirmed, she calms down a little - the calm of someone who knows there's no avoiding what's coming next. Things were going to be interesting; they always were when he showed up.

Ingmar looked around, with an eyebrow raised, as he stood on the deck of the Akarvina. "Something wicked this way comes ..." He muttered to himself, before walking away from the ship's railing.

The face in the clouds is unmistakably that of a man with wild hair and eyes. The Mad One. Sheogorath.

To most, his voice sounded like the whistling of the wind combined with the shriek of a chorus of seabirds, but Loranna heard it quite clearly.

As I look down from my golden path,
Whom do I spy in the bubbling bath?
She’s grown a flower what was but a bud
From the sea to the ashfields of blood
A Goddess behind thee, and a Goddess ahead,
Death crawls behind, and before thee doth tred,
I tell thee the truth of which thou dost fear
Thou willst bury two thou love most dear

As he finishes this, the redness of the clouds fades to black.

There is another lightning flash, and Sheogorath in the flesh, and his natty banker’s suit, is standing next to Loranna. His eyes flash, reflecting the lightning.

Do not fear the dark, for here comes the sun,
And it ‘twill not set ‘til the fight’s lost and won.

With another flash of lightning, the Mad God was gone, and the sun was shining through the clouds.

They could see the southern shore of Vvardenfell ahead, and a dozen ships marked with the flag of the King of Morrowind approaching from the south.

Trason looked towards the strange cloud formations in the dark sky. Strangely enough, it looked like a face. This didn't mean much to Trason, he didn't believe in Astrology and what not.

Waves splashed against the ship and drops of rain ran down Trasons drenched body. His hair was down in his eyes, and it felt as if it was getting colder.

He looked around and saw the unease in the other crew members eyes. Fear had struck some more than others, or perhaps it could of been the drop in temperatures and the heavy wind which makes them all quiver and shake.

Trason took his sword from his sheath and stared at it. The ebony gleamed in the sunlight, which just managed to shine through the storm. The deck was dead silent, as most people stood alone and stared out to sea. They knew this was a suicidal mission, and faces forming in the sky did nothing more but make half the soldiers wet themselves.

Trason decided to speak.

"Warriors... Do not be afraid. You've come this far. There is no turning back. I will tell you right now... Some of us will never see the city of Ald Raathim again. For some of us, the last thing we will be seeing is some Redoran scum. Either way, we are fighting today... I am proud to be a part of this. Let us fight our way to VICTORY!"

Trason looked around and saw that no confidence boost could pump up these soldiers morales incredibly, but atleast it comforted them.

Shaka had been stunned to see Sheogorath's face, after more than two decades. He thought for a moment that the daedroth would want the Spear of Bitter Mercy back, but then realized that a mortal lifespan would matter little to him.

The battlemage thought he could see Loranna ahead, on the Akarvina, talking to someone on the deck. He strained to see, but the figure was soon gone.

The sight of Helseth's fleet was a tremendous relief, but Shaka still couldn't shake a feeling of foreboding. Was the battle ahead already fated, and not to their advantage?

Many of the crew had been exchanging fearful glances, mumbling prayers to whatever gods they worshipped to preserve them, or else simply standing rooted to the spot depsite the rolling deck, unable to do anything but feel liquid fear run down their skin - and no man would think to call such weakness shameful in the face of the daM doG.

Loranna feels Sheogorath's words buring a path in her mind, opening up pits of fears kept hidden for a long time. For a single, long moment, she simply stares, dumbfounded. Then, the sunlight catches her tearstreaks, giving her expression a look of sorrow no one her age should have to bear, as she looks around, seeing the flags of King Helseth on the approaching ships. She blinks, the sorrowful look slowly fading, but not totally going away.

The fleet was here; there was a battle coming up. She had to focus, lest she end up burying many more than two. But her mind refused to let go of the image of the doG standing by her, just as he had been that first time they danced together, when she was far gone enough to seek a kiss from his lips.

" ... He's gone ... for now ..." she says, to get herself moving again. She shakes her head, berating herself. There was a war going on; she needed to be strong now. Worry about the prediction later, when the fighting is over, she tells herself.

She turns to her friends, about to say something. But no words find their way to her lips.

Anya had a harsh expression on her face as she paced the deck of the ship. She was getting anxious, and the appearance of Sheogorath did little but the opposite to allay her. She didn't much like his speech either.

Anya saw a shocked Ingmar stare at the sky. She went over and gave him a hearty smack on the back, a smile on her face, "Don't worry. If you spend any time in present company at all, you'll get used to it." The tilt of her eyes said she was scared as well, though.

Loranna laughs suddenly, and gives Reichi a grin. "Good points, Reichi ... thanks," she says, finding odd comfort in the werewolf's words. Nothing ever phased the unflappable Reichi; that you could count on, whether you stormed the gates of Oblivion or heaven.

Mournhold

Falco lay on the bedroll of his cell. His clothes were in tatters, and tiny holes, where his scales had been torn out, covered his body. Blood flowed freely and he tore strips of his cloak off to stem the bleeding. The argonian tried not to breathe, as every movement (even the slow heaving of his chest) hurt worse than any pain he had felt in his life.

"Good evening Mr. Redflash" came a commanding yet soft voice.

He looked up outside his cell and saw an imperial man in his early 50's. The man had grey hair and was balding. He wore a simple green robe.

"Who are you?"

"I, Mr. Redflash, am your advocate in tomorrow's trial. My name is Cadus Calogus."

The royal guard let Calogus. He then returned to his post, after locking the cell securely.

"Mr. Redflash, it is time to begin work on your case. Now there are a few things I'd like to go over...."

Calogus placed several pieces of parchment in front of them. They would speak of the next day's trial throughout the night.

Loranna looks at Shaka for a second, thinkng to herself that right now, being told her friends would fight for her cause was not exactly what she needed to hear. Without the presence of the Imperial Fleet, the upcoming battle was going to be long, bloody, and the chances of their winning were slim; there were going to be many people buried tomorrow.

But, even as she thinks that, she realizes Shaka was trying to comfort her. And she realizes as well that she should have expected him to say something like this, so if she hadn't wanted to hear it, why did she speak up?

The answer of course was she wanted someone to support her right now; Shaka offered and that was something. And he was squeezing her hand; that too was something. She squeezes his scaly hand back, saying " ... Thanks, I think," but she smiles a little. "... Thank you, Shaka ..."

"If you don't mind, I'm going to check in with Anya.  I'll see you when we get to Molag Mar, Loranna."

Loranna smiles again, wishing Slyvos were here. "Till Molag Mar and battle, friend," she says, looking over at the fleet of the King of Morrowind.

" ... Doesn't quite seem like as many as you'd hope, does it," she quips just before Shaka leaves.

Eats-With-Claws sat aboard the Estwe with many other Ald Raathim soldiers, honing his axe on a rock he had brought with him. He Smiled slyly to himself as he contemplated how much loot he would gain from the coming battle, along with how much it would all sell for. This would be his big financial boost, and a chance he didn't much care to pass up.

Molag Mar

Kratos walked the now battlemented walls on top of the plaza. He stared at the approaching fleet of Ald Raathim and squinted to see another a few knots behind it. No doubt the former would reach Molag Mar far earlier than the latter.

The once bustling canton of Molag Mar was now a dead, locked down, ghost town. The only signs of life were the Muatramer waking others up for the second watch as the rain continued to pour. The clouds blocked the sun, and rain had extinguished the dust cloud that had been sent up by the Indoril and Redoran army.

Kratos stared up at the sky and back out to the ocean as the rain began to trickle down into his bronze armor. "Tough luck for us. The only way we will know they are close is if we come under attack ... He smirked under his helm.

"We'll give them the best damned fight they have ever encountered." He muttered as he glanced back over his shoulder to the North plain facing Molag Mar.

The Coast of Molag Mar

The three ships of Ald Raathim came into harbor, followed an hour later by the ships of the royal navy. As small as the group of reinforcements were, they filled up the little harbor. If more were coming, they would have to set anchor and take their boats in.

In the distance, the heroes could hear what could be low thunder, but it was a storm of a different kind. The Redoran and Indoril armies were fast approaching.

The sun was shining, but the mist cloaked like the land like a shroud.

The scaled skin on the back of Shaka's neck crawled as he realized what the sound of thunder meant; the warrior Houses were coming.

He double-timed it from the docks and up the ramp into the fortress. Shaka ran to the top of the battlements to see if there was any sign of the approaching armies.

Shaka found himself approving the sight of the Muatramer forces; instead of the Ordinators of old, who could be robotic and inquisitorial at their worst, he saw flesh and blood beings who would fight, but not from fanaticism.

Molag Mar had always been a sullen, primal setting for pilgrims to pass through; it would make a suitable killing ground and last stand.

He gripped the Spear of Bitter Mercy, and was clad in his usual mixture of armor, along with the Dragonbone Cuirass. Shaka wondered idly if the Spear would disappear when he died, taken back by Sheogorath, and what would happen to the cuirass. But he had no intention of dying this day if he could help it, being so close to becoming human.

Vivec

Word was spreading that a battle was brewing in Molag Mar to the east. There were all sorts of rumors -- that the Imperial navy was coming to support one side or the other, that Helseth was in Molag Mar leading the defense, that the Mages Guild was joining forces with the New Temple, even that Ald Raathim was sending some of its vaunted heroes ... To the last, Goranthir tried not to show any reaction.

The Mages Guild rumor had apparently been sufficient to cause supporters of the Church of the Tribunal to line up along the lockways across from the Foreign Quarter (the bridges between the factions had long since been destroyed), and to produce a yelling match, and occasional arrows and fireballs to be lobbed on both sides. It was not an unusual sight in Vivec nowadays, but unsettling.

Whenever the wind picked up the dust was intolerable and Arynel had to wear his hood up and hold a hand in front of his face if he hoped to see anything. The Ashlands were one of the few places not ravished by the war, and mainly because they were of little use to either side. Molag Mar was on the other side of the island and several days walk distant if that was your only mode of travel. That was precisely why he came here, because it was the farthest point from the battle to come, and between the two points lay Red Mountain, which was the axes for many an intrepid venture.

The Breton lifted from a rock an old shalk shell, the harsh environment sucking whatever excess moisture it might still hold, and placed it on the ground. Reliving a small pouch, he poured out a collection of berries onto the rock, and taking up a small stone began to smash the berries together. From another pouch he pulled a little jar containing liquefied resin taken from the many varieties of local arthropod, which he mixed into the colored berry residue in order to give the concoction thickness and texture.

Holding the shalk shell in one hand, he dipped a finger into the mixture of berry and resin and began painting on the shell, its black color making the lines almost invisible, but he did not use his eyes, instead guiding his fingers with magic. When at last finished he stood up and held the shalk shell near the side of his head, peering at it through the corner of his eye, and he saw the battle to come laid out before him. There was uncertainty, though, there always was with CHIM.

Molag Mar

Loranna had taken her position with the other mages and helers defending the city, Sheogorath's prophcy now pushed to the back of her mind as she sees the force coming to fight them.

They were heavily outnumbered; the people of Ald Raathim had fought against numerically superior foes before and emerged victorious, but that had been on their home ground, against foes that had underestimated them. This was Molag Mar, and the Redorans and Indoril had been fighting against the loyalists for months now; it seemed unlikely that they'd underestimate the defenders.

Loranna began weaving her own fortifying spells for the defenders of Ald Raathim, combining her efforts with that of other mages. Flashes of blue light enveloped the soldiers protecting Molag Mar, endowing them with increased physical prowress.

Loranna said a small prayer to the Nine as the Redoran and Indoril army closeed in, but their battle cries drowned out everything else, even Loranna's prayer.

She landed in a roll, and continued to keep cover the soldiers from the magic being rained from above.

The atronach tore into the soldiers, knocking the battering ram aside.  With alarming speed, however, it was overcome, and new soldiers came to take over the battering ram.  It was a respite from the assault but not a long one.

*

Seeing this, Shaka clenched a hand in frustration. He had enough charge on the Spear to call up about another four Atronachs, but he would have to wait until they could prove more effective.

Shaka hurled a Greater Fireball at several of the parraptons. He watched the Muatramer arrows arc like rain onto the enemy below, but the defenders were still badly outnumbered.

He would hurl fireballs as long as his magicka and restorative potions held out. Shaka suspected, though, that the battle would yet become hand-to-hand.

Ki'airre moved to the mage lines and spotted the ram. He began a spell that would incinerate the ram.when he finished he let loose a fire ball that hit the battering ram, but Ki'airre was unable to see the damage until the smoke cleared.

OOC:gotta go, be back later.

The battering ram was indeed rendered useless by the strikes of Ki'arre and the others, but it had already struck a couple times, hard enough to begin to crumble the first outer wall.

The battlemages cast shield spells on themselves, and then concentrated their fire on wall. It shook from the stress.

Dane leaped out of the watch tower and onto the battlements, without a flinch in his legs. A fireball was on the incoming, Dane quickly rolled into the other direction as the fireball bursted into little embers. Another fireball was targeted at the Werevamp, he made a back flip maneuver to avoid the fireball but his timing was a little off as the fireball engulfed his belly sending him flying into the Molag Mar defenders.

Kratos saw the wall beginning to falter and shouted orders. "Bring those men inside of the second wall! Archers and mages, hold the attackers off until they can get inside! That wall is coming down!"

Ivelaes and his troops opened the gate for the soldiers that were in danger and launched spells at the enemy to hold them off.

The wall shook and finally collapsed, leaving a giant hole in the wall. The Muatramer and other soldiers struggled to get inside before the enemy could get at them.

Loranna flashes Anya a quick smile, grateful that she and others were striking out at the parrapton riders. Then, the roar of magic striking the weakened wall fills her ears.

The battlemages had thought to cast shield spells on themselves, but these mages were grounded and more predictable in their casting than a parrapton-mounted flyer. She raises her hands and begins firing off weak, wide-area bolts of frost from her bracelet, meant to intercept the battlemages' shots before they reached the wall - and, to give her an idea of how many of the mages had forgotten to put up magical defenses for her follow up Absorb Willpower spells.

Loranna's follow up spells were rendered moot when the wall finally collapsed; with a muttered curse she switches her tactics back to fortifying and healing the defenders. She adds some fortify speed spells into the mix to help the retreating Muatramer reach safety before they're overwhelmed.

Reichi could do naught but look on helplessly, he was a close-combat fighter, and thus couldn't do anything. Unless of course the wall fell or a Parrapton rider tried to flying to close to him, but the latter wasn't likely and if the former happened, things would get really really bad. The Dunmer gritted his teeth, grasping his blades, his dark silver armor glinting in the sunlight.

Then, the first wall fell, and Reichi cursed. It brought him clsoe to the time to fight, but it also taughted him with it being so close, but he couldn't hop the remaining wall in the Redoran mob, that'd be suicide.

The Mages fired their offensive spells through the hole in the wall -- a few of them fizzled due to Loranna's spell, but most of the mages were well-trained enough to cast defensive to prevent that. Afterwards, they stepped back, and let the soldiers armed with warhammers finish clearing the way through the wall. The archers backed the warriors up, firing into the defenders now open wall.

Even as Shaka helped strengthen the shields on some defenders, and stabilized other, wounded fighters, he had an unexpected thought: if worst came to worst, he could Recall away from the battle.

Shaka knew he wouldn't run from Molag Mar, though. Although he and others of the adventurers had Recall spells or amulets, they wouldn't be able to live with themselves if they left the rank and file behind.

This noble sentiment was put to the test when, in addition to the arrows being fired into the fortress, the battlemages sent a torrent of Demoralize Humanoid spells flying.

The majority of the soldiers made it through the second wall, but many had fallen due to the enemy fire. The Muatramer on the second wall had begun to launch arrows now.

Kratos smiled as the Redoran and Indoril poured into the hole in the wall. They were now in range of the ballistas. But the ammunition these ballistas contained were limited. The ballista arrows had a special twist added to them. It was made up of an alchemical formula that made it burn, but it would burn even more if it were attempted to be extinguised. The ingrediants were very rare to come by, thus they were limited.

Kratos lit the arrow with his torch and ordered the first ballista to fire. The giant flying weapon screamed toward the Redoran and Indoril inside of the first wall.

"“They’ve breach the walls, they’ve breach the walls!” One of the archers shouts from the battlements. Men scurried to reinforce the breached wall but Dane was already on the spot. He easily ran past the other defenders with his Werewolf like abilities, unsheathing his silver Longsword. A few of the Redoran soldiers already were squeezed through, Dane leap into the air, in a body slam formation and took down several soldiers.

In the heat of the battle was where Dane became a master, his normal yellowish eyes flashed to a deep red. “Oh! I love this, time to feast on fresh blood” Dane leap onto a soldier on took him down.

Spells and arrows poured through the hole in the wall with wild abandon, a torrent of death; Loranna and the other healers were hard-pressed to keep the defenders shielded and healthy under the withering assault. Loranna's armor protected her from the magic attacks, absorbing the spells and fueling her own enchantments, but even still, she was fighting an uphill battle; for every soldier she healed, two more seemed to get wounded or killed in the space of time it took for her to finish her spell.

Then, the Demoralize spells smash into the defenders, and Loranna sees their morale cracking like the wall did but moments ago. Her armor again manages to absorb the attack, but that only protects her. She casts healing and rallying spells to counter the fear effects, a sensation of trying to hold up a sandcastle in the oncoming tide washing over her despite herself.

As she casts her spells, she sees more soldiers fall, and curses again ...

Loranna lets out a breath, thanking the Nine. Kratos's strategy had bought them some time, time she would put to good use. It was a small victory ...

Trason turned around and saw as Redoran came pouring through the broken wall. He was quite fear stricken at first, but he got to his senses. He unsheathed his sword and threw his cloak to the ground.

"ATTACK!" Trason yelled as he ran toward the enemies. Suddenly they were ignited by a large flame which seemed to have come from nowhere.

Trason was knocked onto his rear-end by the impact but he quickly got back up. A few Redoran ran his way covered in flames. It was actually quite funny, despite the circumstances. It was easy kills for him and the soldiers.

Molag Mar

Eats-With-Claws stared at the carnage from the defenders' position. He was no mage, nor was he an archer. The argonian was a melee fighter. His axe would be ready for the enemy as soon as they breached the second wall, of wich he had no doubt.

Mournhold
Falco sighed as he washed his scales free of the dried blood drom his torture, with the basin of water Calogus had brought to him. He was no longer wearing his tattered red clothes, but rather: a simple blue robe. (also brought to him by Calogus) Finally, the argonian had slept
a bit. He was now ready for his trial, but that was not for many more hours (or whenever the Molag Mar battle is done).

Using his limited magicka, Ingmar sent a few frost balls hurling at the Indoril and Redoran forces. Or, what he thought were the Indoril and Redoran forces. He couldn't tell the difference through the bloody mayhem.

Alexi watched the wall shatter. "Men, Form ranks!" He yelled. The order was repeated down the line. "Lock sheilds and march!" His men started forward at a quick pace towards the gap. His own battle mages managed to block most offensive magic, but still a few men fell here and there. After they were about 100 paces from the gap Alexi halted the men. "Ready spears! Throw!" A rain of short throwing spears flew towards their enemies. A few died, but more importantly many sheilds were ruined. Before he could order a second throw several allied warrios had rushed forward. Alexi cursed them, but such things happen with diversity at training. "Draw swords! Forward double pace!"

Kratos used this time to fix the formations and launch the last ballista arrow to the opposite side of the last to buy a little more time.

Ivelaes cast a spark spell from the walls directly at an Indoril archer as his troops began to pour down more fire onto the already burning enemies.

Loranna continues casting amid the smoke and smell of charred flesh, trying to keep her people alive. Around her, people screamed on both sides; Redoran and Indoril from Kratos's alchemical bolts, and defenders from the spells and arrows and soldiers that had managed to slip through the hole from the invaders.

Molag Mar was holding, but even Loranna could see that the invaders would still break through in force any minute; already there was melee fighting going on and the Redorans and Indoril still outnumbered the defenders by three to one, from her hurried estimations. Still, if they could just manage to hold ...

Then, there's a sudden burst in the air, and soldiers on her side scream in agony; Kratos's last ballista bolt had been intercepted in mid-flight by a lightning bolt, which tore through the projectile to blast the ballista itself to smithereens. Shards of burning wood rain down elsewhere as the other ballistas are likewise destroyed, in rapid succession. A last lightning bolt shatters against the weakened walls, breaking a second hole in Molag Mar's beleagured defenses.

As Loranna tries to comprehend this sudden onslaught, a single voice booms across the battlefield - a woman's voice, strong and confident, both beautiful and frightening in its majesty.

See you now the might of the TRUE Tribunal, lackies of the Imperial's puppet, calls forth the voice, emenating from a golden-skinned figure who floats above the Redoran and Indoril forces. Tatoos adorn her perfect figure, armored in a fearsome tusked helm and large, pointed pauldrons, nd a scimitar bathed in an electric aura is held high over her head, to be lowered to point at the shattered wall.

Behold the glory of Almalexia, traitors and foreign dogs, she says, as the Redorans and Indoril give voice to a cheer even more fearful than their opening battle cries, surging forth with the vigor of the fanatic ...
