The Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Playing Houses
Posted by: Loranna Oct 10 2005, 05:55 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role
Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of
Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
Newcomers, we ask you to http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855
before starting up; everyone will be happier for it Also,
read http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737 as soon as
possible; this will give you an idea of who is in the RP.
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP, Chatspike server). This is not just a bunch of
disorganized individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character
at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP, on the Chatspike server. If you have a plot idea then you are
encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for
some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is
not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there
for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP
You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to you.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Loranna: Loranna was in the Drunken Guar, listening to Allie tell a
story about a maiden with no hands, and witnessing the confrontation between
Telera and Shai brought on by Alexi's unknowing advances on Telera. Loranna
continues to look for a cure for Telera's polymorph potion, but has not been
finding anything helpful yet - though she knows that it's a good thing Telera
did not drink the third potion she found in Gemin ...

Falco Redflash, male argonian rogue, is currently on his
ship bound for his own destination. Be it a sinister or benevolent one? Only
time will tell.

Summary
Goranthir, Prince of Firsthold, is in the Drunken Guar with the group.
Kethiah is at the castle, asleep with her lover Isidor.
Quill/Dygbal has just hired a carriage to take him and Mirea to Lord Laurent
Lyonswurst's palace. He was the last man his sister Lelia had been paid
courting to, a few weeks ago, before her recent mysterious suicide.

Summary:
Kratos has just returned to Ald Raathim from Mournhold, after failing in
turning up any answers to why the Indoril had attacked the Queen Mother.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Kratos walked by an Ald Raathim guard, nodding his head as a greeting, and kept
a steady pace toward the yurt he had built awhile after he had come to the once
little desolate town, now looking to thrive.
He had picked a nice spot on a little hill between the Arena and the Drunken
Guar. He had built it more close to the tavern than the arena, so the
construction wouldn't affect his little home. The outside of the yurt was
covered with guar-hides to keep the pesky insects out and to keep the sun out
as well.
The inside of the yurt was filled with fine things. He had a golden rack,
specially crafted to hold his weapons and Indoril armor. His bed had fine silk
covers and sheets. His tables were covered with enough books and research
papers to keep him busy for a decade.
He sat down in a chair near one of his tables and removed his helm. Setting it
on the rack, he turned around and picked up a book written in Temple script and
began reading it.

QUOTE(Tri @ Oct 9 2005, 09:00 PM)
Shai
smiled tearily. "Teleran? Learn common sense? I doubt it."
She punched him lightly in the arm.
There was hope yet.
“Hey! It’s a possibility,” Telera said, grinning and rubbing her arm despite
lightness of the blow.
Telera found a table in the corner of the Drunken Guar and sat there drinking
flin and thinking about what to do with herself, Shai had broken up with her
tonight, but it did not feel like she had expected it to. She had expected the
floor to disappear and the sky to fall; neither of those things had occured.
She felt almost relieved now, Shai didn't hate her, she didn't love her anymore,
but no hate. Beneath this realization was her own recognition that her feelings
for Shai had changed, she still felt something for Shai but it wasn't like it
had been.

Kratos had become bored with the script he was reading and decided to head to
the Drunken Guar for a drink or two.
Upon entering he noticed Telera sitting at one of the corner tables. He grabbed
a mug of sujamma from the bar and walked over to where she was seated.
"How have you been Tel?,' he placed the mug down on the table and noticed
the frustration on her face, "anything wrong?"

“Hehe, sure,” Telera said, “I hope the proprietor
doesn’t mind my regaling the establishment with my problems again. It was Shai

me, Shai confronted him for doing it and me for not revealing my situation up

“I still need to fix the whole transformation thing, but as it stands… I think
this is the best of what could be expected.”

“No, it’s not that, it’s that I just realized that I had tethered myself to

snapped the central pillar of that life and I found that it wasn’t mine
anymore. I had bonded myself to the idea of it, and she freed me of it.”

"I wouldn't think it to be that comfortable, changing genders in a snap

“Easy? No, not easy and it is highly uncomfortable. But there isn’t much to be
done for it now. Maybe if I could undrink the potion but not now,” Telera mused
after Kratos left. “I should ask Tris more about how these potions work to
understand what exactly happened, he seemed knowledgeable about them.”
In the meantime though, she was going to enjoy the drink Kratos had bought for
her.

Summary: Joshua Fergusson is drunk as oblivion in the
tavern.
Joshua Fergusson got up out of his seat and stumbled all the way to the little
boat, where he fell down on his hammock and swayed till he fell asleep. A sleep
that would last for a while in his drunken state.

more emotionally involved in this situation than she would like to admit...

The carriageride from Ivytyde House to Lyonswurst House was not a long one. It
carried Quill and Mirea over gentle hills, past other nobles' estates, along
the sea. Other carriages filled with fashionable folk passed them, and they
craned their necks to look at Quill and Mirea, curious why such plainly dressed
couple had command of the Ivytyde carriage, then whispering to one another the
horrible gossip about what befell Lelia.
The ride up the private road to Lyonswurst House was designed to awe. Fountains
and gardens lined the curving way, offering only brief peeks at the palace
itself, which, when it finally came into view, was astonishing in its opulence.
It was entirely marble, glistening in the sun as if continually wet, in red and
black.
"They say Lyonswurst House is what the Emperor Tiber Septim would have
built," Quill said, smiling a little. "If he had any money."
This was not meant as a compliment.
The carriage was left with the servants at the gatehouse, and Tris and Mirea
walked up to the open door where Lord Laurent Lyonswurst's valet awaited them.
"His lordship will be with your shortly," the valet said. "If
you will come with me."
He brought them to a vast atrium in the back of the palace, iron and glass, and
so filled with tropical plants, it looked like a section of Valenwood had been
uprooted and dropped into High Rock. There were even monkeys and birds in the
trees.
"Perhaps I might offer you a refreshment?" the valet asked. "His
lordship always likes one about this hour."

Nalion's Journal
Morndas, 10th of Frostfall
It's beautiful, truly. And it's hard to write when I know that she is sleeping
just a few steps away. I think I can hear her breathing.
It's beautiful - I think I wrote that already. There was and is so much to see
on this journey. Towers, castles, monuments - and walls -, so many new faces
and even some friends of old that I have not seen for years. Between learning
the ways of new places and enjoying the cruise, I hardly find time for myself,
to write down in this journal. In these few moments that I have for myself, I'm
thinking a lot about the adventures I had, the people I miss. The people that I
spent almost a year with now - no, not just people. Friends. Dear friends.
I'm thinking back to Ald Raathim and Solunastra and wonder how things are
standing there. There's not much news coming from these places to the ship, at
least not to my ears. I think though, that the Mythopoeic Archive - wherever it
may be now - is still recording the events.
It's growing dark outside and the candle has almost burned down. The ship is
moving slowly in a calm breeze and the waves are singing a sleeping song.
I'm not consistent in my thoughts, judging from the lines I've just written. It
doesn't matter though. The time I am spending with Doll is beautiful, but I am
still missing the others as well and I can feel adventure trying to tug at my
sleeves again. I can't follow its call now, though, but the longing is growing
every day.
I know two things for certain though:
There's a time when I will see everyone again.
I am happy.

"We are trying to understand what happened in her world," Quill said.
"Something broke her spirit."
"Yes, she seemed very sad the last time I saw her," Laurent replied.
"I asked her why, and she didn't want to talk about it. I wish with all my

"I asked her why, and she didn't want to talk about it. I wish with
all my heart she could have told me. However bad it was, it couldn't have

Mirea had a sudden insight.
Lelia had killed her mother to solve a problem in her life. She was not a weak
girl, not a 'romantic', whatever that was supposed to mean. She was someone
capable of the calculated murder of a family member, when no other solution
would work. Murder, as solutions went, was a remarkably creative solution.
What could have happened to Lelia that was so bad that she couldn't think of
any solution short of ending her own life?
Mirea tried, with an effort that made her almost cross-eyed, to picture herself
with bruises that she wouldn't heal, injuries she wouldn't tell about.
Empathy was not something she had much practice at.
She must have thought she deserved to be hurt, or she would have bought a
healing potion...
She did something stupid, something really stupid, so stupid she couldn't tell
anyone what she did.
Her eyes came back into focus. She didn't know anything about the sort of thing
rich girls did when they were stupid. But Laurent did.
"You think someone broke her heart, then?" Mirea asked.

The tavern was modest, but well-appointed and almost finished. It sat on the

Walking past the workmen into the interior, Isidor and Kethiah found a

balconies hanging over the main room.
"We could add curtains so they'd be private rooms for clandestine

Well... what did Tris know, anyway?
The last time Mirea had kissed a boy was when she was eight years old; he was a
dusty son of peasants tilling the fields behind the orphanage of Mara. And she
had gotten a whipping, too. Mara was supposed to be goddess of love but her

as had his ribs...making him wheeze when breathing
Though he had originally planned on Asking Loranna to teach him so hardcore
healing magic, his little tour around Ald Raathim had suddenly changed his
mind. Such busyness! Such work!
Her Ladyship would be far too busy, Vaan had decided. pestering her
would earn a slap, at the very least. (Vaan's occasional chauvanism in
his early days had earned him plenty of these. A Lesson learnt for one life
time.)
He didnt really know what to do know. Perhaps he would find a nice balcony and
watch the construction work. Lazy? Not in Vaan's condition. Sensible.
Even his magick was hardly suitable.

QUOTE(Dagoth Lich @ Oct 10 2005, 06:16 PM)
Slyvos
was wandering the streets again, wearing a dark purple robe with nothing
underneath for the most part. As he went along he began to think of all the
things that were going on, instead of the past for once; best he keep his mind
off that for a while.
'gah, I just have this feeling I'm gonna run into something really
aggitateing today...'
A few minutes later, he tripped over one of the loose boards that were lying
around.
'ow... why do I even bother?'
Slyvos's trip is greeted with sniggers from a few nearby children, and a
muttered "Watch where you're going cat; thought you were supposed to be
lithe on your feet ..." from the worker whose nice pile of wood just got
disturbed by a Khajiit tripping over it.
"Ah; good to see people keeping me in business," comes the afable
voice of Egalius Soccitus, as he ambles up to Slyvos, a flin in hand. "You
know, if you look both up and down, you'll see twice as much."

Slyvos gets off the ground, dusting himself off and
muttering.
"fetcher... hm?"
He turned to the guy with the flin and raised an eyebrow quizzically.
'what's with the flin?'

"Healer's orders; one flin or brandy per break to help soothe aching hands
and sore heads from keeping the workers hale and hearty no matter what befalls
them," Egalius explains. "Mixed a little cromberry in to give it that
special touch."
"You know, it's rare to see you out and about," Egalius continues,
ignoring any stares he might be garnering from his slightly-loud voice.
"Usually you're cooped up in the castle library or doing things in the
basement - or so they tell me, not that I've had opprotunity to visit the
castle's basement, of course. But still, the general consensus is you're a
housecat, no offense meant of course; what brings you out into the hustle and
bustle of Ald Raathim?"

OOC Summary
Reichi is in the Drunken Guar, after having listened to Allie's long-[censored]
but nice story, and watching Tel and Shai's little fight.
----
"Bored," Reichi muttered, seeing that the Tavern's activity had died
down. The Dunmer sighed and got up, and left the Tavern, he considered helping
with the construction work. But, while fighting was fine, heavy labor
wasn't really Reichi's strong suit. But, there wasn't anything else to
do. Reichi mentally cursed Dilemas. And so, Reichi began wandering around Ald
Raathim once again, maybe he could find a better reason not to work other than
'I don't want to'.

His face slumped just a bit, putting his hand to his
forehead as he shook his head.
'I really don't know anymore. Just seemed like I should be out here for some
reason. Prolly cause it was cloudy out and not as humid... could have really
done without the tripping over the board and being made fun of by kids easily
younger then me by a long shot.'

If there was one thing Egalius loved, it was the sound of his own voice; he
grins at the opprotunity to regal Slyvos with yet more of his homespun wisdom.
"The young of the various races of Tamriel are surprisingly similar in
many respects; they all are overly-energetic, intensely curious, cruel in ways
that no adult can hope to match, and totally innocent in ways adults can barely
comprehend - and that's kids on a good day. They'd make fun of Arkay and
Stendaar themselves if those worthys ever saw fit to show up someday, not
knowing any better; your healer's advice is to ignore them, or just smile back.
It's when you let yourself be bothered that they get really inventive; it's like
waving honey at a bear, they get all excited and ..."
He pauses to take a sip of his flin. "Eh, a bit dry out today for me; I
was getting used to the humidity here. So you were getting a little
castle-crazy, huh? I can understand that; it's not healthy to stay cooped up
for weeks on end like you're always doing. Makes people wonder about you,
whisper among themselves about what you're doing - not that it's any of their
business of course, but you know people."
"Now see, I always sid, you want to talk about a man, get to know them
first so you know what the heck it is you're talking about. But you can't get
to know a man who's always locked away - though if it's your fiance doing the
locking, well ..."
He harumphs. "Eh, not that she's ... you know."

"Eh, nothing; forget I said anything," Egalius says, for once feeling
a bit of shame. "Anyway, the point is, you should get out more, get
involved in things; it'll do wonders for your complexion and keep you from
going stir-crazy. It'll even help in those times when you and the beau are
having a spat; I can't tell you how many times I've seen two lovebirds forget
the rest of the world around them, then get all upset when they have a fight.
No one else to talk to, they just get madder and madder; no one wants that.
Gotta remember, all couples fight, and there's going to be times when you need
to just get stuff about your woman off your chest - human nature, my friend,
human nature."
The few people who were wandering by were giving looks at Slyvos and Egalius -
though said looks seemed to be less directed at the former lich wandering
around in Jazbet's body and more at the loud Imperial who was giving
relationship advice in the middle of the street to a robed Khajiit ...

The dull throbbing of Captain Ignatius's head awoke him.
The middle-aged breton would find himself stripped of all belongings, and tied
to several of his crewmen, on the deck of an unknown ship. The events of the
day were painfully etched into his memory.
It had begun somewhere around midnight. The sails of the Red Falcon
hadn't even been spotted before the ship had overtaken Ignatius's own ship, the
Sea Skimmer. This was due to a combination of a sleeping lookout, a
dense fog, and a moonless night. All these factors were an accident waiting to
happen. Or in this case: an act of piracy waiting to happen.
Once the Red Falcon had reached the Sea Skimmer it was all over.
For Ignatius's ship was a very large overloaded, and thus slow merchant ship.
It had been delivering a load of Mead fom Solitude to Dagon Fel. Imported
Skyrim mead was a valuable commodity there and sold for a hefty price. He had
been so very surprised to suddenly hear a crewman shout "PIRATES!".
Then all was confused chaos. Men and women running screaming as they were cut
down by merciless brutes. But the captain was the worst, his saber delt death
wherever it swung. The argonian would corner his mostly half-dressed,
half-asleep, and unarmed victims. He would watch as they cowered and then toss
them a sword. He would force them to fight him, saying "I'm giving you as
fair chance to live." He would win every time. After all these men were
merchant sailors not warriors. After 2 hours the fierce and brutal battle was
over for Ignatius, as a spearbutt to the head knocked him out cold.
Now here he was with 6 survivors, all that was left of his original crew of 45.
He looked up to see that dastardly captain of theirs, with a blank expression
on his face. They stared at each other for some time, all the while Falco's
crew looted and ransacked the ship in their search for valuables.
"Good afternoon captain.....?"
"Ignatius" he answered coldly.
"Do you have any idea what I am to do to you?"
"Kill me, or sell me into slavery."
"Wrong."
"Oh?"
"I'm letting you go, no point in killing you now, and I don't believe in
slavery. Besides, I need someone to spread tales of my exploits."
"You bastard!"
He laughed a cold laugh and then cut the ropes, binding each of the captives.
"Swim to shore, we're still close, a mere 4 miles away. You have 10
seconds. 1....2....3...." They were all in the water by two.

The Nord looked at them, a little concerned.
"Well done," smiled Kethiah. "Now, go with your father and get
the gold from Loranna. And while you're doing that, think of a name for our
tavern. I was thinking the Something and Something, since there's
already a tavern called the Adjective Something in town ... Maybe
Tyradil thinks of one noun, and Tilitalia, you think of the other?"
She turned back to the Nord with a sigh, shaking her head, expertly feigning

She was a little relieved to be rescued by the horses stopping. There didn't
seem to be a graceful exit otherwise. And she needed to think about kissing a

now? According to most of the plays she had seen, she was supposed to slap him,
call him a cad, then swear never to speak to him again until he gave her an
expensive present.
Frankly, that seemed like a lot of trouble.
"I'll be back in time to rescue you," she said. And kissed him again,
to give the servants something to talk about.
She didn't go talk to her friend, of course. She went Outside, and took a good

It seemed to be a normal warehouse from the outside, but most people avoided
it. They steared clear of the ruffians that hung around outside the building.
Yet, in the amazement of the passersby, a scantily dressed woman entered the
building, a prostertute, they all thought. Within the building, the grunting of
men fighting could be heard, it was a fighting school, where one learned the
unarmed and unarmoured arts. Maranda had been visiting here ever since the
attack on her and Jelsia some nights back, and had aquired quite a taste for
it. Yet she knew that she had a summons to the Mistress in Arms of the Order
later that afternoon, hence she did not stay long, only long enough to tell her
trainer she might not be in for a while. She left and hurried back to the temple,
where the mistress in arms was waiting for her,
'Been practicing your unarmed combat, I see' she said lightly
'Indeed I dont want to be caught in the same situation again' Maranda replied
'Very well, I have a mission for you. I have heard that a certian ring has
fallen into the hands of some Daedra worshipers in the city. I want you to
retrieve this ring'
'And what ring is this?'
'The Ring Of Khajiit'
'And anymore clues?'
'Your contact is a Redguard Woman by the name of Sharli. I know not where she
is, ask around taverns'
'I'll accept this mission,' Maranda said, bowing lowly, before heading out onto
the streets of the city

it. Yet she knew that she had a summons to the Mistress in Arms of the Order
later that afternoon, hence she did not stay long, only long enough to tell her
trainer she might not be in for a while. She left and hurried back to the
temple, where the mistress in arms was waiting for her,
'Been practicing your unarmed combat, I see' she said lightly
'Indeed I dont want to be caught in the same situation again' Maranda replied
'Very well, I have a mission for you. I have heard that a certian ring has
fallen into the hands of some Daedra worshipers in the city. I want you to
retrieve this ring'
'And what ring is this?'
'The Ring Of Khajiit'
'And anymore clues?'
'Your contact is a Redguard Woman by the name of Sharli. I know not where she
is, ask around taverns'
'I'll accept this mission,' Maranda said, bowing lowly, before heading out onto
the streets of the city
Inside the tavern known as the mule and the monkey a redguard woman and a
nordic man were engaged in a very intense arm-wrestling match. The woman had
bet the exceptionally drunk nord that she could take him and each of his
friends down in a match. So far she had wiped the the floor with 5 of them.
His friends, obviouly embarassed at having been defeated with such ease were
insulting her with various slurs. Although none of them had enough spine to
challenge her to a rematch. Their arms hurt far to much for that. Suddenly the
man's arm was pressed down. He seemed almost relieved it was over.
"I win. Pay up."
He grumbled something inaudible and handed her a bulging sack of coins.
"Thank you. You'll be leaving now."
The group of nords left the tavern, loudly voicing their complaints of how she
must have cheated. Back inside Sharli counted her gold and bought a drink,
waiting for the dibellan that was supposed to meet her.

She didn't go talk to her friend, of course. She went Outside, and took a good long look at Lyonswurst House.
It was dull watching the day to day operations of a large manor house. Horses
were washed in the stables, silver was polished in one wing, while laundry was
sorted in another, and his lordship spent time in correspondence in the third.
A considerable amount of effort was spent by servants continually polishing the
great marble edifice of the house.
A carriage arrived an hour into her vigil containing a young pair, boy and
girl, who appeared to be siblings, possibly twins.
They were brought into the dining room where Laurent greeted them, and fed them
a sumptuous meal.
The servants drifted out to the far wings of the house, shutting heavy doors
behind them.
Then Laurent dropped the mask, and horrible things began happening. And Mirea
knew what Lelia had suffered.

Mirea knew what Lelia had suffered.
Mirea was going to be late returning to Ivytyde House. That wasn't the problem.
The problem was what was happening in front of her. The twins seemed to have
agreed to it. Maybe they didn't know what they were agreeing to. Maybe it was
just hard to follow through with some things even if you knew on the front end
what was going to happen. That made it hard to know what to do.
She couldn't very well burst into Laurent's house waving a sword. Or shoot him
in the chest with a wasp-colored arrow. Could she?
On the other hand, no one should scream like that without someone coming to
help.
In the end, what she did was set fire to his house. Not a big fire. Just a
small one. With plenty of smoke, to warn people to run out of the house and put
it out. She used one of his own candlesticks.
She stayed around to make sure someone put the fire out. Because it would be
terrible if the monkeys burned.

For a dilentante, Lord Laurent Lyonswurst was remarkably focused. When he
decided to become a court favorite, he became one. He knew people, and he knew
how to manipulate people. And when he loosened the beast inside, if anything he
became more focused. There were no impulses in this monster, only calculations
and movements to quell and stoke his desires.
Thus, it took him some time to smell the fire. He was, after all, used to some

Then, it was chaos, and servants arrived with water and in the confusion, the

Then, it was chaos, and servants arrived with water and in the confusion, the
twins escaped.
He was annoyed, not worried. They could not tell anyone, but his fun for the
night was over.
The twins were older than the children who went to Solunastra's school, but
Mirea felt certain the General wouldn't mind. Now the thing was to catch them.
It was easy enough to catch a stray cat once... but if you tortured it, you
weren't going to catch it a second time.
Mirea had grown up under the kind tutelage of the Benevolence of Mara. She knew
the things strays feared. That they would be separated. That they would be
trapped. These kids were living on their own. That meant they wouldn't be
interested in anything she could offer them.
And so in the end what she did was put on her ring of healing (because she had
never mastered healing spells properly) and step out from behind a tree and
say, "Hey, you!"
And then she flashed them with a healing spell.
It wasn't much. But it made her stomach feel better.
It was only after she had left them that she thought that maybe Laurent
Lyonswurst, best friend of the King of Daggerfall, had power and money enough
to have gotten these kids sent over directly from the Benefice of Mara. Like
ordering from a restaurant.
She was several hours later than she had promised Quill, by the time she
returned to Ivytyde House.

The sewers stunk like, well sewers. Maranda, her sword

carefully. She stopped, and crept around the corner. A stairway was before her,
heading down. According to her directions, down there was the Temple, a high
arched building. Maranda silently cast a Mark spell before decending the stairs
and reaching a high arched door at the end, a door that streached almost 40
foot high. She found a smaller door to the side, and pushed it open to find...

Before her lay almost a hundred Worshipers, far too many
for her to handle herself, each armed with Impressive Daedric Weaponry. Yes
this was a Trap, and they were ready for her. The Camera zoomed down the room,
where beneath a statue of Dagon sat a Dremora, 'Kill her!' the dremora said in
broken Cyrodiil, with that, the hundreds of Dremora, worshipers and assorted
fiends charged towards Maranda
Directors note, begin high paced hero music now
Maranda smiled, not even touching her swords, 'a piece of cake' she said, as
her hand brushed over the ring on her hand, "I summon thee, FLAMEY!!!!!'
All the fire in the room, from the torches to the ovens, mysteriously went out,
putting the room in darkness, but not for long. A light shining from above
them. The odd few who looked up shreaked in terror, a Penticle had formed on
the roof, within it, flashed the letters, Hefhed, Lyr, Ayem, Meht, Ekem, Yahkem

Loranna. Tough deal she was, but he got a good price. Then he wrote a note and
sent it to his headquarters in Cyrodiil and his new outposts in Amelexia and
Ebonhart. Now he was cooling off in the Drunken Guar. He decided he had enough
drink and needed something to do. "What is there to do in this city
anyways?" He muttered. He could always take another ride. He loved
watching the eyes of the natives goggle over him sitting on a horse. Not very
many of those around here. But even that was a little boring. What he really
needed was a good fight. But where to find that. Maybe someone knew of some

And a crash, as the 30 foot flame monarch crashed to the ground, crushing many
worshipers beneath its feet, burning those who were close to him. Maranda
smiled, and cast recall, back to the hallway. From which she could hear the
screaming the crys, the Roaring as
a terrible smell, that of burnt chicken, slowly made its way up the hallway.
Worshipers were fleeing up the stairway, as Maranda slew each of them she came
across with her blade. Entering the temple once more, she saw Flamey looking at
her questionabily, 'ROAR? he asked
questionably
'Good work babe, you can go now' Maranda said, casting Fire Shield and walking
towards the alter
'ROAR!' Flamey said in triumph as he dissapeared,
he knew he had earnt his bread today. Her shoes were crushing the charred
corpses beneath her feet, as she made her way to the alter, and picked up the

objected
'Yes, and hence why we want you to find it. It was last in the posession of the

The rest of the day was spent in the town, buying furniture for their rooms,

bought a few new outfits, nothing extravagant, but enough to keep her from
wearing the same outfit day after day since her wardrobe was still in Vas.
Finally, they spoke with two different importers who were setting up business
near the tavern, about bringing in liquor and food. Since the Nymph and Noggin
would be closer to the docks than the Drunken Guar, it was more important than
the food and drink be interprovincial, with varieties to please travellers and
merchants of all races.
It was a long, exhausting day, and they were all four happy to retire for the

Outside the Drunken Guar, the sounds of construction continue - Ald Raathim is

trying to decern her thought he decides she appears friendly enough and
answers, "Greetings. You are right that I am new here. Much of

"Indeed; since the Dawn we've been growing," Loranna concurs,
"though we've been growing a lot recently." She extends her hand to
the Argonain. "Dres Loranna Pyrel, Lady of Ald Raathim. A pleasure to meet
you, serjo."
"Where have you been recently, if I may ask?" she continues.
"It's always interesting to hear news of the surrounding lands."

Then the smile faded from his face, as he thought of Laurent Lyonswurst.
Something had to be done. And though he didn't explain the segue in his

Slyvos had run back to the castle for a moment to get a
few things and was quickly back at the tavern construction site, wondering if
he should do what he was about to do; mainly, practice a new sheet of music
with that flute of his while the workers did their thing. He was just busy
setting up somewhere where he couldn't be seen very easily... unless you looked

What Mirea wanted, more than anything, was to understand. She still wasn't any
closer to that goal. She had seen Laurent with the twins. Why would Lelia do
that to herself? And Mirea felt certain she had done it to herself. More than
once, if the dates were any indication.
But she didn't say any of these things. As far as she was concerned, Quill was
better off thinking that Laurent had raped his sister, and his sister had been

with a somewhat errie tone to it as music came from behind one of the

Solunastra: Tris
Tris Gaerinton knelt, with eyes closed and hands clasped, before a personal
image of Dibella. Dibellan idols were nesting dolls, one aspect of the goddess
within another, the deeper you penetrated, until finally you reached the one
that could never be breached, by mortals, anyway.
His Dibella, like most private ones, had nine layers. Usually Tris only went as
deep as the third, with prayers and offerings of wine to each. Today all nine sat
in a little row, and he prayed, silently, to the ninth, the little golden doll
with the serene, smiling, unpenetrable face.
Behind him, Ciel slept. Morning light slanted through the shuttered window, the
sun had burned the fog from the streets, and still Ciel slept. Last night, when
Tris had come to his room, he had been still awake, and now he was still
asleep. Making the whistling noise through the right side of his nose.
That was why Tris was praying.
Please, Dibella. I know I'm the worst lover in the world. Know I deserve to
be punished. I have no right to ask you for anything, but... please. I know
he's older than I am. But he's not that old. I can't... you know about my
mother, goddess. I can't do that again. I can't.
Please, dear goddess, let him be okay...

He turned towards the construction that was underway. there were many different

None of the workers wore slave bracers. On a bench a dunmer and argonian talked

Perhaps what he had heard was true, perhaps there was no slavery here.

bought a few new outfits, nothing extravagant, but enough to keep her from
wearing the same outfit day after day since her wardrobe was still in
Vas. Finally, they spoke with two different importers who were setting up
business near the tavern, about bringing in liquor and food. Since the
Nymph and Noggin would be closer to the docks than the Drunken Guar, it was
more important than the food and drink be interprovincial, with varieties to

"They weren't children," Mirea said. "Just young. And I stopped
him before he went too far. Are you coming? I told Quill you'd help him."
"Tell Quill to do nothing hasty," Allerleirauh said. "There's
more to this than just one monster. Those two came from somewhere. I want to
know where."
When Mirea returned to Ivytyde House, she had Tris Gaerington with her.

Ald Raathim: Arena
The Arena had a floor now. Although the surface was dirt, it was actually
hard-packed earth atop a wooden surface, with essential rooms beneath it.
At either end of the new surface, a post had been set up. The workers were
playing post-ball, to celebrate the completion of this phase of construction.
"This is a slaughter - Go down to the village and tell Helgi to send us
some Nords!" Dragon yelled to one of the foremen, wiping sweat from his
forehead, and bracing himself for another scrimmage. The foreman saluted and
dashed off.

Outside there was the sound of construction beginning anew, and naked Kethiah
went to the window to look out. "I hadn't realize it's morning

"I could try."Isidor said with a smile, before getting up, and
dressing quickly.
He knocked on Tyradil's door first, and found the boy dressed, and his bag
packed, but still asleep. Isidor went over and woke him up. "C'mon, Ty,
time to go." Tyradil nodded sleepily, and rolled out of his bed. Isidor
smiled, and went to get Tilitalia. He didn't enter her room, but simply knocked
and said "Time to go!" In a few minutes, the trio was assembeled in
the main room of the tavern, waiting for Kethiah.

Update:
Gnisis
Drakar has returned to the council and reported his findings on the missing
Emissary. It was certain that the Emissary arrived at Ald Raathim, beyond that
there was nothing to go on. An agent was dispatched to the Mages Guild to see
if they could determine anything further and to ask for a guild guide to be
stationed in Gnisis. Drakar had insisted on that and some of the council
actually agreed it was time to do so. Having a Mage Guild in Gnisis would be
benificial at this stage.
The council was informed of the meeting with Baladas. They were concerned that
he appeared to remain neutral and showed no interest in the 'goings on' of the
world. The council, however, did listen with intent when they were told about
Baladas's warnings of 'Danger from the North' and 'Red Mountain'.
The Nord threat was always on the councils minds but they had never really talked
about it in any detail. That changed. The next few days were spent discussing
the possibilities and what steps to they could take. Having Skyrim on the
mainland and Red Mountain on Vvardenfell as clear potential threats was good
cause to rethink stratagies and a strong motivation to finish the
couter-proposal for an allience to the crown.
Recently a message from House Indoril was recieved. They had two of 'missing'
agents sent to locate the lost Redoran Emissary and were sending them back as
an escort for their own Emissary. They were not going to use the guild guides,
they were coming by ship and should be in Gnisis soemtime before the end of the
week. The council sent a message back that they were looking forward to
recieving the Emissary and would be sending their own Emissary to the Indoril
on the same ship. Word was also sent out to remove the two agents from the
'missing persons' notices.
Ald Ruhn
Visisters to what was once Ald ruhn were very few and were quick to pass
through. The smell of Sulpher and Death hung in the air like a thick cloud of
doom. There were only workers, priest, and a few families waiting to hear of
their lost ones to be found. Bodies were being removed daily and the rituals of
the dead were almost continuous. Many had escaped the city, many had not. On
top of the ruins a thick wall of rubble was being built. Only the workers and
the priest went inside the wall, nobody else was allowed in, nobody else wanted
to go inside.
Blacklight
News of a recent pirate attack has prompted the Imperial Navy to dispatch two
warships to hunt down the mennace. They inted to make an example of those
responsible and send a clear message that piracey is not going to be tolerated.
Redoran offers to assist were politely turned down, this was an Imperial
matter.
Ver'dan was in Blacklight and had wanted to join in the hunt but he had other
duties to attend to, however he did ask if the other ship could be made ready
anytime soon. There were no promisses but the shipmaster would see what he
could do.

He was dressed in black, but appeared to be carrying no weapons.
"Give me a reason to stop him," Tris whispered to Mirea. Although it
was foolish to whisper. No one could hear them here.
"I don't want him to see what Laurent does," Mirea said. "He
doesn't need to picture it clearly, with Lelia instead of... whoever might be
in there."
"That's true," Tris said grimly. Laurent was creative. "But
Quill's already picturing something. I just wish I could trust him not
to get caught, or killed. If I knew the house better, I'd stand back and leave
him alone. But this is a rich man's house, with all sorts of protections
against thieves."
He didn't need to say, and if he's spotted, we can't help, without giving
ourselves away.
"Go talk to him, Tris!" Mirea said. "Go knock on Laurent's door,
tell him you have to see him right away. Quill won't do anything with strangers
here."
Tris hesitated only a moment. He had a memory still, so vivid it made him bring
his hand to his lips, of Laurent's fleshy mouth covering his own.
"The things I do for you," Tris said, and dropped into the world,
knocking loudly on Laurent's front door.

Once the entire enemy ship had been looted Erlycn set fire to it, sinking the Sea

The jorney from Gideon to Stonewastes, the nearest town
to the bone fortress was long, and the road so poor, it would have been faster
to walk than take a carrage. None the less, Maranda had decided to go with the
carrage as Dibella was paying the bills. Manavrio. She knew that name had
sounded familiar, and now she realized why. It was the Lich that stole her
Brother-in-laws dog, and the lich who he hunted down and killed. Knowing this,
she had picked up a copy of his book, and was flipping through it, and found
some interesting revalations. Yes, the Fortress was near Stoneswaste, and from
there, she would get a guide to the fortress. The ancient and evil artifact
that was within it would not be a threat to Tarmiel no more.
And then with a mighty strike of Landon's blade, the Lich was slain, his
mortal soul throwen into dust, and the world and little puppies everywhere were
saved from the evil that was Manavrio. the book finished, as Maranda looked
around Stonewastes. It truly was a stonewaste, with little about, she approched
the only tavern in town and spoke to the barkeep about guides. It seemed that
he remembered Landon from when he was last here, and gave Maranda a skillful
guide that would get her to the fortress within the day... They left and made
thier way east, deep into the swamps of Argonia.

for Isidor and Kethiah. A new home, a family, and a place within a community .
. . . He felt his forty years at that moment.
But as he walked from the tavern, he also knew that he had made choices along

The Bone Fortress, Argonia
In a journey that should have taken many hours, only took what seemed like a
few minutes, the massive fortress had risen into sight. Built of the bones of
slain creatures, Manavrio had created this fortress in the middle of a swamp.
Although, it was quite empty of fiends now, Maranda still had to watch out for
the odd snake. She followed the instructions layed out in Landon's book to the
Throne room, and saw the Skull sitting there, on the table, where it was
supposed to be... but there was also another sitting there...
'So we meet again, dear Maranda, it has been what, four years?' the Dark robed
individual breathed through his heavy mask
'You? What are you doing here, archfiend?' Maranda asked, noting her old
nemesis on the throne before her, her hand gripping on the sword hilt so hard
her hand was bleeding
'Why, I came to pick something up,' he tapped the skull that sat on a pedestal,
'And I came to confront you'
'Why do you want the Skull of Corruption?' Maranda asked, 'And who are you?'
'Why do I want the skull? For it has helped me a number of times, an item of
great worth. And who am I? Many know me as the Archfiend, your father however
knew me as Manavrio'
'But... Landon slew you!' Maranda replied in shock
'That he did. But this is an amazing artefact. Using it I created a copy of
myself. And it was that copy he slew whilst I was away tending to business. I
managed to get the jewel your father hid from me in that dog, just as in the
cat, the owl, and the Mouse. Now the Ferret remains, and the greatest power in
the universe will be mine!'
'You... evil... fiend!' Maranda yelled charging at him
'Hence why they called me the Archfiend,' Manavrio said, touching the top of
the skull, activating its magic. He picked up the skull, 'Have fun!' he said
happily, as he recalled away... Maranda turned to face her ultimate test...

Kratos had his yurt torn down and his belongings sent to
storage. He had built it without permission from Loranna, and it was directly
in the way of the expansion of the town.
I'll talk to Loranna about building a residence the next time I see her. But
for now it's back to the nomadic existence i've been living since the Blue
Dawn.
After the deconstruction ceased, Kratos headed to the Drunken Guar to have a
drink.
He took a seat at a table near the bar and waited for his sujamma.

Joshua got out of his hammock, dressed in common
clothing, belted on his sword and made his way to the Drunken Guar, a bad
headache slowing him down the whole way.
When he arrived, he noticed Kratos, the former Ordinator, that had been missing
for the pass few days. He went over and greeted him...
"Kratos! Where have you been, friend?" He says in a jovial manner.

Joshua
got out of his hammock, dressed in common clothing, belted on his sword and
made his way to the Drunken Guar, a bad headache slowing him down the whole
way.
When he arrived, he noticed Kratos, the former Ordinator, that had been missing
for the pass few days. He went over and greeted him...
"Kratos! Where have you been, friend?" He says in a jovial manner.
Kratos shot a glance toward the Imperial.
"I have been here, Joshua," he said turning back to his sujamma and
gesturing for him to have a seat, "if you are referring to a few days
back, I was in Mournhold."
"Enough about me though," Kratos said, "how are you faring so
far in Ald Raathim?"

He takes a seat and orders a Brandy.
"I've have been fine. Worked at the Arena yesterday, and got drunk last
night." He rubbed his temples a little..." and still feeling the
after-effects this morning..."
"Mournhold, eh? Tell me, what's it like there?"
