Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: High Rock Hijinks
Posted by: Loranna Apr 22 2005, 01:31 PM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://sekkairc.freewebpage.org/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Ciel is male Breton, formerly a Knight of the Rose from Wayrest.
He is currently with the main group as they finished putting Domnar to rest.
Solin, a Dunmeri Sorcerer of some talent, has not been seen for some time. He
waits in some dark corner of the world and makes the occasional appearance in
Morrowind to observe the province's recovery.

"That he is," Ciel responded to Tris. "We'll have to keep a
watchful eye for that man in the future. Next time we may not be so fortunate
with distractions."

"I don't know how to watch him any better, I give him a rose every

having an affair. But he's in love with Elysana, poor man. Or... I should say,
with the Queen."
He took a deep breath as they stepped out of the close, dark Benevolence into
the cool air. A storm was gathering; the air carressed his skin, like a live
thing.
"I feel as if I should feel something now that I've done my duty by Dom,
you know?" Tris said. "More grown up or something, more in control.
But I'm sliding around just as much as I ever was, like someone trying to learn
to ice skate. I guess I just need to keep doing what I've been doing - hold on
to you, and keep setting one foot in front of the other."

definitely someone who hangs on to stolen goods for other people while they

The Fortress of Hentainess: Location, Unknown
The tale so far
After being defeated in the bath house my the evil hentai ecchii Tricker and
his lesbian ninja schoolgirls, Maranda, after a long and harsh journey into an
unknown land, facing many hardships, Maranda finally made it to the castle
walls…
"Stop!" said a voice with a heavy accent,
"We, the Lesbian Ninja Schoolgirl Twins shall not let you go past and face
the evil, hentai ecchii Tricker without having to face our cute and lesbian
powers!" said a second heavily accented voice, as the two sickeningly cute
girls in sailor uniforms stepped forward, each equipped with a whip. They
advanced forward, with an evil look in their eyes.
"But Lesbian Ninja Schoolgirl Twins don't exist in Elderscrolls Lore
ether…" Maranda stated… the two girls looked at each other, and
disappeared into Ashes. Maranda picked up one of the whips, thinking that they
may come in handy at some point, and continued…
At last, after facing many cute and surprisingly un-lore related creatures,
Maranda made it to the double arched doors made of Platinum, Quartz and Zinc.
From behind the doors came a sad and haunting requiem, and as Maranda pushed
open the doors she found the evil, hentai ecchii Tricker on a chair, looking at
the three moons that were outside the window, playing an Ocarina. As Maranda
entered, Tricker stopped, and turned to her…
"So, Maranda Biennie, you have arrived… you did take your time, did you
not?" Tricker said with an oddly haunting voice
"I shall pay you back for that embarrassment in the bath house! Umm… why
are there three moons?" Maranda asked, finally noticing the moons outside,
"and whats with all those weird creatures back their with the
tentacles?"
"You still have not figured it out yet, Maranda?" the image of
Tricker filckered for a moment, as the ocarina fell to the ground, "to
face your demons, you must face me"
"But you don't exists in elderscrolls lore!"
"But I do…" said Tricker as his image dissolved into mist that reformed
into a form Maranda only knew too well
Posted by: Shardie Apr 22 2005, 03:07 PM
"You… what are… how are… why are…" Maranda said
"Yes, you must face me to overcome your demons," Prince Meridia said…
"I… I can't! You’re a Daedric Prince! How can I beat you?" Maranda
asked
"You have no choice but to beat me" Meridia said, her eyes narrowing,
as the mist formed into a scythe, "If you can't defeat me, you will
die…" Meridia disappeared into the Mist, as Maranda, armed only with the
whip, looked cautiously around the room for her.
Maranda sensed something behind her, and turned to face Meridia, who had formed
behind her, her Scythe ready to strike. A smile came across Meridia's face, as
Maranda dodged the Scythe blade. This was far too easy though Maranda as
Meridia appeared in front of her again.
"You can't hurt me like you are now… " a voice said in her head
"You are too weak by yourself"
"By myself?" though Maranda, looking at the whip in her hand… this
could not harm her… Meridia had stopped moving around and turned to look at the
moons through the stain glass window. Maranda used this chance to look around
the room… there was a sword… a familiar sword, standing in a pedestal before
the stain glass windows, her white gold sword… the final memento of Shardie she
had. Meridia looked at Maranda once more, and smiled… "So the question is,
can you get to that sword before I kill you? That I would like to see… yet, I
will let you go," The door opened, "You may ether leave, or you can
face me… that is your choice"
Maranda returned the smile, "If I do not face you now, I will never be rid
of you"
"Very good, my dear Maranda, you are learning!" Meridia replied, as
her scythe changed into a bow, "now run, or you will die!" Meridia
pulled back the bowstring, as Maranda started to sprint towards the sword. The
arrow left the bow, as Maranda pulled the sword from the pedestal, the arrow
disappeared, and Meridia's image disappeared. The voice came in her head again,
"You have done well, Maranda Biennie, you have passed your second test…
you have faced your demons once again… we shall meet again"
"She's waking up!" a voice said
"Where am I?" Maranda asked, she was laying on the ground infront of
the bath "Was that al just a dream?"
"You must have fallen asleep in the bath," a woman said, "Come,
there is a bed out the back so you can lay down, and don't forget your
Ocarina…"
"Ocarina?" Maranda said, looking in her hands, finding the ocarina
that Tricker was playing… That was a weird experience, and she could tell it
was no dream… but what was it? And what was it that Meridia said? A second
test? And there would be another? How strange…

22 of Rain’s Hand:
The world is a bloom unfolding.
I find myself out where self and place no longer hold any meaning, the world
stretches out like a painted canvas in all directions, forms of varying colors
radiating out in all directions and I am the center. Where my feet have trodden
there do I find myself, and though I have traveled far, my legs are not weary,
nor my chest burdened with heavy breath.
I have too long now been caught up in the whirling of present predicaments and
had so often vowed to venture out into the world, though I had not, I had
stayed behind and grew anxious and became filled with frustration. Yet I feel
that my labor was not in vain, for it pleases me that the world still goes on,
unfolding every moment into a still grander exhibit.
Stepping out beyond the city streets as if stepping back into the wander lust
of a child, I find myself returned unto innocence, meaning ignorance, the
middle dawn of personhood, when the world construct shatters and all that is
left is the first breath, relived in nostalgic wonder. There is no world but
which surrounds, stretching out in all directions like a painted, multihued
sea, and I am the only one that breathes.
I have new eyes.
The old have been reopened.

OOC Summary
Reichi, the male Dunmeri Werewolf and former Assassin is skulkiing about
Crosswych, having split from the group before they headed off to the grave of
Domnar.
Tohe the young breton male, on the other hand, is still with group.
-------
Reichi was befuddled. There seemed to be two sources of the scent, one was
extremely faint and distant, perhaps from the tavern across town from the last
inn they searched. The second scent was stronger, and much much closer. It
seemed to be following Reichi about. In fact, if Reichi didn't know
better he'd suspect it was coming from that Breton, the large burly one.
Debent.
He decided to head to the Tavern across town.

Tavern in Baeldale, morning:
"See, that's why my work is so interesting," Catanee Wendon was
saying, to anyone who would listen. "An executed criminal who was a
worshipper of Mara, an unpopular Duke trying to control the worship of Mara,
the popular imagination, an inpromptu cult gathered about the criminal's
grave... in essence, Dom's restless spirit became a local deity. This sort of
thing lends credence to the theories of the psijiics regarding the development
of Aedra - that they are not our ancestors, but the other way round. It will be
interesting to see what happens to the legend now. Will children still dare
each other to sneak down to Domnar's grove? Will illicit lovers still leave
Maran knots on his tree and offer prayers for their love to remain secret?
"It's good to have educated and well-traveled people to talk to! The
locals have a tendency to either faint or call out the guards and cry heresy.
What are you writing?" Catanee said, leaning over to look at Tris's
journal. He had been writing in it for some time, and the page was black with
scribbles, his face red with frustration.
"Epitaph," Tris said shortly, running his pen through his latest
effort so hard that the paper tore. "The marble cutters of Arkay want to
know what to put on the stone. Nothing I write sounds right. At least I know
his last name, and I remember his birthday."
"Oh," Catanee said. She tuned her gusla, then drew the bow across its
string, producing a noise like someone shaking a jar full of bees. Over this
deep, resonant sound she began to sing.
He was Domnar called the Invincible,
no sword could be his end.
They hanged him high upon a tree
for the murder of many men.
Not death could make him sheathe his sword
nor back down from a fight
But he sheathed his sword and he threw it down
to spare a woman's life.
In Mara's arms he rests at last
for her sake stay your hand
And say a prayer for the one who walked
the woods at Crosswych Stand.
Tris stared at her.
"Thank you," he said finally. "Is that what they're singing
now?"
"It will be," the young bard said, and winked.

It had indeed been a long journey for Maranda, however it was
finally nearing an end, Crosswych Woods, in the region of Daggarfall known as
Anticlere, only a few more days till she arrived home. She sat at the
"Flying Dungeon" Tavern, and ordered a drink, inspecting the Ocarina
she gained from that bathhouse incident. Over the past few weeks on the road,
she had figured out what this device did, when a certain tune was played, a
Daedroth was summoned... if a different tune was played, a different Daedroth
was summoned. She had already figured out the songs to summon Scamps and
Ogrims, and was trying to remember the Requiem that was played in Trickers
throne room... she suspected that it did something big, what, she did not know,
but she sat in the corner of the tavern, playing a sad requiem...

she gained from that bathhouse incident.
Crosswych Woods, Flying Dungeon Tavern
A red-haired Nord woman enters the tavern, brushing dust off of her robe.
Looking around, she notes Maranda, and a mildly surprised look crosses her
face.
Crossing the tavern, she approaches the Breton woman, looking at her curiously.
"Hail stranger," she says in a familiar-sounding voice. "That's
a most interesting instrument you have - and a lost lovely tune you're playing.
Mind if I sit with you? My friends are not yet here and I enjoy your
music."

Maranda stopped playing, and looked up looked up, "Oh, its
you..." she said, as she placed the Ocarina back in her bag, "I
thought things were going too good in this journey, and now here you are to
mess up my life again, to blow up another city, or to wipe out another
village..." Maranda said bitterly... she did not remember her time with
Loranna fondly, unfortunatly...

"I generally only blow up wizard towers now," Loranna says, a frown
crossing her lips. Then again, she hadn't expected Maranda to jump with joy
upon seeing her ...
I always did feel like I never got the chance to talk with her like I
wanted, Loranna reflects.
"And I'm not here to mess up anything for you, unless you're trying to
blow up some cities yourself," Loranna says, giving a weak smile.
"I'm just waiting for some friends, like I said, and thought I'd come over
and say hello, and good to see you lived through the recent troubles."
" ... And thanks, for trying to do what you tried to do," Loranna
says after a small pause. "Even if it didn't really work out like we might
have hoped."

Maranda's eyes narrowed, "since when did I blow up any
cities... you know, in the entire time I spent with you, I only ever killed one
person, and that was my best friend... I thought I was over all this... I
thought that I had no more to do with you, Azura or even Meridia again, but the

Maranda's eye, "all I want to do is go home, and visit my sister..."
Maranda sobbed...

Loranna's eyes widen, and she curses herself for a fool. Without thinking, she
wraps an arm around Maranda's shoulders, comfortingly.
"Maranda, it is over," she says gently. "Azura's gone,
Meridia's gone, the whole business is behind us now. No more crazy parades, no
more foolish barmaids raining death and destruction over the land. Just those
who lived through the troubled times, making new lives for themselves."
"I'm sorry; that was a really poor joke I just made," she continues,
her eyes sad. "I won't make any more."
Killed her best friend ... Loranna thinks, her eyes closing. Poor
girl ...

Loranna looks down at the orcana, slowly picking it up.
... Yes, on that I'm afraid you're right dear, she thinks to herself.
She feels her skin go cold, like it does in her nightmares.
... I should have just left the poor girl alone, she berates herself. Face
it Loranna; there's still a lot of people out there who just don't want
anything more to do with you.
Still, she should return Maranda's instrument; Loranna pokes her head outside
the tavern and sees Maranda leaning against the wall.
" ... Erm ... you dropped this," Loranna says, holding the orcana out
and not looking Maranda in the eye. " ... I'll leave you alone dear; for
what it's worth though, I hope you have a happier life than you've been forced
to endure because of me. Good luck."

"Tell you what; let me buy you a drink, we'll talk about ... well,

She beckons Maranda back into the tavern. "And call me Grier while my

Loranna listens, the music interesting at first, but gradually she feels her

Without even realizing it, Loranna pulls the Orcana from Maranda's lips, her
expression part worried, part upset.
" ... Dear, maybe you should pick up a different instrument," she
says, looking at Maranda with a frown. She hasn't yet let go of the orcana.

He saw Maranda and frowned. He knew her well, from his months of spying on

Loranna's frown takes on a confused cast, wondering why Meridia would be trying
to do something like that for Maranda. Then again, Meridia's sphere was
obscured and even the more straightforward Daedra were impossible to totally
understand.
" ... Be careful and good luck," Loranna says to Maranda.
"Hopefully, it's nothing on the order of what we've been through ..."
"And this is Tris, my friend and traveling companion," Loranna says

They then might notice Reichi walking towards it. Well, not walking really,

He headed in the tavern.
Not far behind Reichi, Debent follows dutifully. The large Breton looks quite
pleased with himself now that they are approaching the source of the scent. He
places his hand on the door, about to follow his Dunmer companion into the
Griffon when out the corner of his eye he catches a familiar face in a window
across the street. He sighs and withdarws his hand and trudges across the
street to announce his presence to the others.
***
The Flying Griffon was situated almost directly across the road from the
Dungeon. Both taverns were, in fact, friendly rivals due to their very similar
names and locations. Smoke billowed out of the common room adjoining the hall
where Reichi had entered. Tonight the large inn was crowded. Talk of trade from
Wayrest floated about in the laden air. Drunken revelry spilled out on many a
table.
Nearly overwhelmed by the assault on his heightened senses Reichi still manages
to find the faint trace of Lielle in the air, it is easier now that Debent has
departed.
Reichi's nose takes him from the hall past the kitchen where a beggar waits by
the side door under the watchful eye of the cook and a man mopping up some
unidentified mess to a more secluded section of the inn. Music from the two
flute players in the common room trickles faintly into this corner. Much more
exclusive clientel dine in this area if Reichi can tell anything from their
clothes. At a table sitting next to the window the Dunmer finds the end of his
search.
A young man of Cyrodiil, most likely Colovian by the look of him, sits in quite
discussion with a young Breton woman, who however is not Lielle. She gives
Reichi a glance with her green eyes and then turns back to conversation with
her companion while adjusting her red hair.

Tris decided not to risk spooking the couple with Reichi and
ordered drinks for himself and the others who had entered with him.
Debent decided he agreed with Tris and took a swig of the offered drink while
watching Reichi and the couple closely.

a lie, but it wasn't the full truth either. They likely wouldn't give out info

"Slow down, Dark Elf," the Imperial said taking a sip of his drink.
"The only Lielle I know lives in Westcastle, how would that bring you to
Crosswych Wood? Besides, I hardly know you. Who are you? and how do you know
Lielle?"
His companion laughed at him from across the table.

Loranna sips her mead, thinking to herself A little too

She keeps a casual eye one Reichi, wondering how the dapper Dunmer werewolf

The latter was addressed to his companion.
"How may I be of assistance?"
Before a reply could be formulated the rooms lighting changed and a dark shadow
loomed over Imperial as Debent stepped up behind Reichi. With one hand the
large Breton brushed the Dunmer roughly to the side while the other grasped
hold of the fabric of Iulian's shirt front and yanked him from his seat.
"I'll tell you what you can do," Debent growled angrily at the

"Well, when one uses the shared information to steal the bribes from both

"As for murder, I assume he found out about her double play and promptly

Tell me, did you do it yourself or did you hire those orc thugs of yours?"
At this point the large breton's face curled into a snarl and his arm lashed

Tris had no doubt that Debent would murder Iulian if he got the chance.
Why murder him if he's supposed to bring him back for a bounty?
Reichi seemed to have decided he was on his own.
These thoughts went through his head in a split second. There was only one
decision to make - take the blow, and block Debent's path, or let himself be
thrust aside. He braced himself against the impact, knowing Loranna would mend
his injuries, and grabbed at the table leg as it struck him.

Rodastyr moved quickly for a man his age. If he would've been dead long ago...
or at least his act would've suffered greatly.
He shot out the tavern door with all the speed he could muster, making some of

(Night before) “WOOHOO!”-
A vampire hopped across the center bridge over the Odai, stringing out a rather
lively tune on his lute. A long line of dancing vampires followed, red liquid
falling into the river as they swayed their mugs through the air.
There was a small cart pulled out onto the street also, handing out the new
beverages. It seemed to be a mix of alcohol and blood…the vampires took a
liking to it rather quickly.
The lute-playing vampire turned, and led the large assortment of creatures back
across the center bridge. He crossed the bridge in unison with two acrobats,
cartwheeling across either of the side bridges.
“Yeah! Woo! Hoo…um, Yeah!” Shouted one particularly drunk vampire, before
breaking the chain of dancing and plummeting into the river. Laughter roared
from the center of the town.
Further into the night, archers from rooftops let flaming arrows set sail into
the air, gaining the vampire’s attention for a brief moment. Before they landed
safely outside the city walls.
It was indeed…a fun night for Balmora.

Loranna double-checks Debent's bonds, and for good measure casts
Absorb Strength and Agility on the hapless Breton mercanery to ensure he won't
be busting free anytime soon.
Thus satisfied, she hauls him off the horse, sets him up by a tree, and casts
Restore Fatigue with a hearty slap to his shoulder.
"I believe I will be more useful watching for undead in other parts of the
graveyard, banashing evil appeals more to me than what may happen here.
Remember Loranna, any mercy you show here will be remembered and could benefit
us in the future." Radont unsheathed his sword and walked into the
darkness.

The large man slowly comes out of his sleep state. It takes him a moment to
figure out his surroundings.
"What? Where are we?"
He struggles against his bonds. They are tight though and he weak, terribly
weak.
Anger changes quickly into terror.
"What are you going to do to me? I didn't try to hurt any of you until you
stopped me from getting him, please."

Sometimes mercy was remembered with a knife in the back.
"No, you just used us to do your dirty work, and lied to us," Tris

"What we do to you depends on what you tell us now, and whether Lielle is

Tris laughed. "If it stinks, it's because there's a stinky
barmaid in it. Barmaids smell worse than a dead rat under the floorboards, all
of them."
He winked at Loranna.
"Come on, then," he said to the girl. "We don't have
brains enough to have brought an extra horse, hop up behind someone."
Lielle laughed too as she climbed out of the hole and let the trap door swing
shut behind her. She gave the farmer a quick kiss on the check before picking
to ride with Radont.
"Mmmm. Laugh, laugh, laugh. Get off my land. Good bye. Thanks for
staying."

And so the heroes rode off, having had enough of Crosswhych and
its charms to last them a while. Westcastle and the Dirty Muskrat awaited, but
a few days ride off - or, as Loranna points out, but a short ride and a Mage
Guild hop if they head to the city from which Ciel had come earlier, when he
came to pay his respects to Dom's grave.
Doubtless, the proprieter of the Dirty Muskrat would be thrilled to see Lielle
again, safe and happy, and hopefully Debent would have the good sense to keep
his head down and his feet running far away from Westcastle. And also
doubtless, the party could look forward to the Dirty Muskrat's finest food and
drink that night.

...and they did. The innkeep was over joyed to see his dutiful
worker returned to him as well as his profits and asked her rescuers to stay
for as long as they could.
Westcastle seemed quiet once more after the tumultuous night of their
departure. While all was not at perfect peace, the proper application of coins
to the right individuals smoothed over and ill that remained for the barmaid
and her new friends.
Indeed, at last, was properly returned to the Dirty Muskrat Inn in Westcastle.

Westcastle, The Dirty Muskrat
Private Room
"The thing that gets me is how easily I was ready to trust Debent, his
obvious shiftiness notwithstanding," Loranna says lazily, sitting with
Slyvos on the bed. "Well, that and letting Relia go and not stopping to
think she might come back to try something after all; that left me feeling
pretty stupid ..."
" ... but it's over now; good riddance to Debent and may we never cross
paths again," she sighs. "And may he luck into something that doesn't
require him to get in over his head. And now we can return to other business
..."
Smiling, she leans over to kiss Slyvos. " ... Oh, right," she says,
blushing. "When I stopped back in Ald Raathim today I picked up a couple
of letters for you, love."
Fishing out some mail, she hands it to Slyvos. "Also, I talked a bit with
Kallen about getting an account opened for you with a reputable bank; now that
you're mortal again I figured it might help to get you set up with one."

Slyvos smiled.
'Thanks for thinking of it. now, let's see what this mail says...'
He looks at the letter, which was basically one letter, wrapped around another.
2nd of First Seed:
Dear Slyvos Araberith, and all others this letter may concern,
Two-Tails, good friend of mine, and yours, passed upon an unknown date, several
weeks prior to this at the residence of "Uncle Sweetshare" on the
island of Solsthiem, north of Vardenfell. His left arm was badly burned and
partly healed, revealing this not to bee the cause of death. The more likely
causes were starvation, and exposure to the harsh climate of the island. The
acompanying letter was ffound with him, adressed to you, and was rushed to you
by one of our finest messangers. Do not worry about how we know where you are,
we mean you no harm whatsoever. And if there is ever anything you may need,
please do not hesatate to ask, any friend of Two-Tails' is a friend of mine.
Sincerely,
Jim Stacy
Slyvos sobbed just a bit, not wanting to believe it...

Slyvos sobbed just a bit, not wanting to believe it...
Loranna puts her arm around Slyvos comfortingly, likewise incredulous. Two
Tails ... she had not thought too much of Slyvos's friend recently but somehow,
she had always figured he made it through the Blue Dawn, and that someday
they'd bump into him again ...
"I'm sorry, love ..." Loranna says to Slyvos, holding him.

He frowned a bit, and un-rolled the other letter that
accompanied it...
{The letter in neatly folded and sealed with wax, obviously done after it was
writen. The writing is hurried and appears to be writen in blood. It also
contains a small key.}
Dear friend lich,
Two-Tails apologize if this message is short, but he sences he does not have
much time. Two-Tails simply want's to wish you, and dear Loranna good luck on
the jouries ahead. Hold onto her lich, she is truely one in a million. The
enclosed key is to a chest in Yargrum's quarters in Tel Fyr. It contains things
that Two-Tails has acumulated over the years, many of wich are magical, as well
as a large sum of gold. Take it, do with it what you will, I won't need it.
Once again, Two-Tails wishes you, and Loranna well, good luck, and good bye.
Your good friend,
Two-Tails
Slyvos tried to look less upset then he was, but a tear managed to escape down
his cheek.
'He was my only friend besides you...'

'He was my only friend besides you...'
Loranna's eyes were moist as she read the letter penned by Two-Tails himself.
When Slyvos speaks, she opens her mouth, wanting to say "You have other
friends, love,", but the words get stuck in her throat.
Slyvos, love ... she thinks, holding him with renewed fervor, forcing
herself to at least whisper "My love ..."
It may not have been the best of times to kiss Slyvos, but Loranna kisses him
anyway; short and tender and loving, brushing his lips, her eyes still moist.

'just when things started getting better, this happens....'
"Dear ..." Loranna says, cupping his cheek in her hand, "bad
things happen ... we can't keep them all from happening."
She wasn't saying the right thing, she thinks, but it was too late to take back
what she said; only thing to do now was to go with it ...
"Would Two-Tails want us to lose ourselves in sorrow over his
passing?" she asks quietly, trying to smile a little. "Would any of
our other lost loved ones? He wanted us to be happy together ..."
I talk too much, Loranna berates herself. Just shut up and comfort
your man, Lor ...
She pulls Slyvos close, close enough that her hair brushes his cheek. She
kisses him once, gently, on the ear, feeling his quiet sobs reverberate in her
chest. When he turns his head to look into her eyes, she smiles softly, and
offers him the best comfort she knows.

Vvardenfell, a mine-
Three vampires, a Khajiit, an Orc, and a Dunmer walked through the tightly
packed halls. The smell of burning candle wax filled their nostrils. “Daa’Barr
smells something…” Commented the Khajiit, stopping the others.
“Yes, I smell it too.” Said the Dunmer, irritably. “There must be someone here,
a candle couldn’t of stayed burning for this long.”
The others nodded, and the three approached a large door at the end of a
hallway, grins plastered across their faces. “Volrina will be happy, she’s been
waiting for a find like this for quite some time.” Whispered the Orc, taking a
large mace in hand.
“Indeed.” Said the Dunmer, removing the scimitar from his back. He nodded to
the Khajiit, who was now holding a longbow. He kicked the door open, and the
three charged in. Screams ensued.

The cloaked Breton stepped into the little bookstore in
Daggerfall unexpectedly, and walked over to the counter, behind which stood an
old Breton man whose attention was put squarely on the book before him. Laying
the book down flat on the countertop the old Breton man peered over his
spectacles at Arynel.
“Yes, what do you want?” He asked.
“I have something, a book that I would like to sell, if that would be alright.”
Arynel said, fishing a few pages out of his pocket and laying them out on the
counter before the man.
The old Breton twitched his nose and glanced over the pages. “I’ll give you
fifty septims for it,” he said at last.
Arynel nodded, took the money and left.

Westcastle
Loranna, disguised as Grier, walks through town, intent on some shopping; the
party could use a fresh batch of healing and disease-curing potions for their
upcoming excursion to Balmora, and given that violence was a likely response
from the vampires there to their entreaties, some additional preperation would
be nice as well. To this end, Loranna does some shopping for rings and amulets
which can be enchanted with Turn Undead, to ask her lover to make.
Thinking of Slyvos makes Loranna pause for a second, reflecting on something;
she was no longer telepathic, and she still was given to talking too much, but
when it came down to it, her best form of communication ... was still
non-verbal. She grins a bit, then returns to her shopping.
Once she had picked up the supplies she needed, Loranna returns to the Dirty
Muskrat, to see if the group was ready to go pick up the cure from the witches.
