Hello all, and welcome to the reflections thread for the RP: Blue Dawn smile.gif

In this thread, we the players and our characters look back over the events which culminated in the recent, legendary battle at Red Mountain, when the Daedra Prince Azura attempted to take control of Nirn and was repulsed by the bravery of mortal heroes. Many lives have been lost, but their sacrifice was not in vain, for the world has been saved.

And now, we honor those who fell in this struggle.

Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.

Two ships entered the harbor of Ald Raathim, their Imperial built hulls whitewashed and gleaming, but their sails black. They were Imperial Legion vessels, and spears and banners rose from their decks.

Behind them, two longships came, flying black banners. The Azurites of Freetown had made friends, some had made new families. These men and women would join their Captain in honoring the fallen.

The ships docked, and from the lead vessel a solemn trumpet sounded. In ordered columns, the honor guard disembarked. The sun, bright and from the west, gleamed on their armor and lit their banners with fiery light.

Slowly they processed toward the nearby hill, all silent but for a slow, stately drumbeat and the clinking of mail.

At their head walked Captain Cyndarius. His full dress armor gathered the sunlight as a miser gathers gold, keeping it to itself, hoarding it. It was as if the sun itself had come to mourn.

Behind the Legion, the mourners from
Freetown, their heads bowed in silence, marched to the hill. The survivors of Ald Raathim met the survivors of Freetown, and the two groups became one.

The trumpet sounded again.

Summary-

Dante, at the memorial.

Illidan, Bhlaalu manner, conferring with vampires.

Brum, Inzoliah, Merciander and friends, an island somewhere.
--------------

Dante made his way up the hill. Still dressed in his commoners clothes, in a way he wished he could've dressed nicer for the event. He remained quiet the whole time, giving brief nods to the people present at the time.

Teleran was clad in dark blues, almost black in their hue; a voluminous hooded cloak obscured his frame. His blue eyes hardened into points of ice as they caught the light and appeared to glow from under his cowl. His cloak stirred to reveal the icy sheen of Stahlrim. His hand itched to reach for the dagger and add one to the tally of the dead.

A procession of priestly looking figures withdog paw emblem on thier tunics lines up and holds daggers of the Senses to their chests...a priestess laments "he only lead us for a short while, but his teachings, and his example, will lead our order forever, we need to follow our senses..."

...a poor looking dunmer with metal boots sheds a tear over his lost friend, mentor, and....pet.

Posted by: Nalion Mar 26 2005, 07:48 AM

Nalion stood on the hill, his arms folded. He was clad in a dark robe, which flapped lightly in the wind. The Bretons' eyes were shaded, and he seemed absent-minded.
He thought of how it must have been, back then at the battle on the slopes of
Red Mountain, facing an enemy that couldn't be beaten by sheer force alone. Rousing the courage to stand against these odds was truly worthy of respect. He rose his head, eyes focusing. He looked at Teleran, something seemed to trouble him. He smiled briefly as he saw Sekka with the new arrivals, he hadn't seen the mer in a long time. He took a look at his other companions, nodded and waited for the ceremony to begin.

"Say, Reichi, they got Daggers like yours..." Eya said, nudging Reichi. The Dunmer looked up and noticed this as well. "Wonder how they got those..." Reichi said, trailing off. "I got mine from a Dog..."

Eya raised a Eyebrow at Reichi. "What? Its true, i swear, he talked and everything, hes prolly around here, thats how they got the Daggers.." Reichi said, knowing that she thought he was crazy or something. "Right, i'll beleive ya when i see a talking Dog..." she replied. Of course, aforementioned Dog was sadly, quite dead.

Raddin eyed Teleran warily, the Dunmer seemed to be agitated about something. Of course, should he try anythign harmful, Raddin was within reach enough to land a armored fist to the back of the halfbreed's skull. Tohe on the other hand, tried to hide his boredom, and was failling, very very badly.

Swims-in-Clouds stood among the huddled crowd, wearing the corse brown robe over his new hair shirt. He leaned against the shaft of his spear as he pondered this ceremony and why he was there. He had not known a single one of the fallen, yet he knew he owed them a great debt. Not his life, but something more: He owed them his will, his mind, everything that made him him rather than a breathing husk, or a mindless marionette dancing on strings played by a Daedra prince. If, by his presence, he could in some small way honor these dead, it was right that he do so.

OOC: my stupid java client isnt working....does anyone know why?

Posted by: Allerleirauh Mar 26 2005, 09:08 AM

Allerleirauh stood with Arynel and Solin. They, the three of them, acting as guardians for Sen-Yedda, were now the heads of the Temple.

They had been appointed by the classic, Dunmer means of appointing leaders: they were the last ones standing. The Archcanon Tholer Saryoni was dead now. So was the Archcanon of the
New Temple. And the Ashlander wise woman, Nibani Maesa, saved from the destruction of the Eidolon, stood beside them, offering her support.

Arynel could spout poetry only the gifted could understand and ever seek new horizons; Allerleirauh could protect Vehk's people and his daughter with teeth and claws and sword; and Solin could make miracles, as he had done with the simulacrum. Mastery, Mercy, Mystery. Allerleirauh had first been appointed to her position by Vehk; the others, by Azura within the body of Loranna. They were a perfect bridge between the old and the new.

Allerleirauh spoke to the crowd. "We will not abandon you. In due time, our positions will be passed to the councillors of Sen-Yedda. Solin stands before you to ensure that she will not forget she is Dunmer. But Sen-Yedda is more than that. She represents the best of the Dunmer people, their ability to take adversity and turn it to strength. In her you overcome your ancient enemies. Only time will tell what she will say to you when she has words to speak; but her birth breaks the ancient Curse of Seed laid on Vvardenfell by
Red Mountain. I believe she is the princess my own people believe will come one day to the Dunmer. Let her be hope in your hearts, while we are the strength of your arms."

The Imperial priests of the Nine Divines were conducting Imperial services for the dead. The Dunmer priests were conducting the rituals for the Dunmer dead, ready to be recalled to give advice or assistance. Though their bodies lay beneath the cooling lava in the foyada Mamea, the honored dead would not forget the living.

The Ancestors are among us. They are never farther away than the Waiting Door.

The Ancestors are not departed. The dead are not under the earth. Their spirits are in the restless wind, in the fire's voice, in the foot-smoothed step. Pay heed to these things, and you will know your absent kin.

Pay reverence through gift and prayer. Acquaint the Ancestors with your affairs, with your comings and goings, with your blessings and trials.

From the Waiting Door comes your protection. Heed the spirits, who are the guardians of your hearth, teachers of wisdom, counselors of fortune, seers of fate.

Honor the Ancestors upon your hearths, within your halls, in the community of your temples, in the solitude of your tombs.

Live in One World with your spirits. Honor the spirits within and without you. Do not grieve for the dead. Take shelter in their arms, and pay heed to their words.

"I pledge myself now to rebuild the city of
Vivec, whom I loved," Allerleirauh said. "I have heard his voice. He does not forget his people, and when his city is rebuilt, his spirit will reach down from Aetherius whenever the faithful call his name. Let shrines be built in his honor, and in the honor of Almalexia, whom the Nerevarine freed from the prison of madness, and in the honor of Sotha Sil, a mystery in death as he was in life. They are your strongest, truest ancestors. Honor them, remember them whenever you remember the worthy dead who fell at Red Mountain."

OOC: totally missed this RP (school is a spotted owl!) from what i read, however, it WAS GREAT! so i guess ill just do a little post, and try and work around things.

Melampus was freed from the prison in Ebonhart after being held for being questioned. Everyone was joyous and cheering. He could tell that this was a proud moment for the Dunmer and all of Morrowind. Heck, for all of Nirn. Everyone has been given what they have always wanted and trusted: HOPE. Allerleirauh, Arynel, and Solin now held a great bond with everyone and inside there hearts as well.

"A better good has now come. Everything is better now." said Melampus. "We now can trust everything that is told to us. No more lies. No more false hopes. I can finally sleep a great time without having to worry. Ah, this is nice." Melampus began to think of the others that he met in his journeys. They were great people. He began to dream of the future and what it holds. Visions of good came into his head.

All is good.

"We have honored the dead," Cyndarius's strong, clear voice rose over the crowd. "But there is one who fell, one very close and dear to us all, who did not fall under a sword, or a spear.

"Dres Jazbet, Lord of these lands, fell to the power of Azura, who robbed him of his soul. We shall remember him with the dead, but he will hold a special place in our hearts, for his story is not yet finished. Although fallen, still he gives happiness to the world.

"Once, long ago, there was another mer. This mer craved power, like all Dunmer do, and for that he made a terrible mistake. He cursed his own soul to an eternity of torment and misery.

"What do these two people, a Dunmer and a Khajiit, have in common? They both made a terrible mistake. You see, Lord Jazbet was an Azurite."

The crowd could not hold their tongues at this point, and a low murmer rolled across the hilltop.

Cyndarius raised his hand, and silence again fell.

"Although born a Khajiit, Lord Jazbet was loyal to the ways of the Dunmer, and always strove to do what was right. Azura tricked him, just as a lust for power tricked another mer.

"Lord Jazbet was exceptional in many ways. When he realized what it meant to be an Azurite... when he realized the purpose that Azura had for her chosen people, he tore out his own eyes, rather than have them blue."

Someone in the crowd shrieked, and many deep sobs were heard.

The sun was starting to reach the tops of the peaks in the West, casting a reddish-golden light over everyone.

"That makes two things that Lord Dres Jazbet and this other mer of whom I speak have in common. Both were noble enough to realize their mistake, and deny it, despite the consequences.

"There is one more thing that these two people share, though. One very important thing. They both won the love of the same woman. A woman Lord Jazbet loved in return, and asked to be his wife. A woman who so loved Jazbet that she was willing to use the greatest power a person can achieve to save her beloved from Azura.

"The Azurites were not killed, they are gone. We do not know where they went, but their bodies and souls are gone. They do not watch over their descendants. They do not rest in the bosom of their gods.

"Jazbet, by the love of Loranna Pyrel, was spared this, and his body remains. His spirit, however, did not return. Perhaps it dwells in a land far better than this. At least, that's my hope.

"I'm sure you wonder about this other mer of whom I speak. Who is he? He was a great hero, one of those who fought at
Red Mountain to save all of Nirn. He sacrificed his unnatural, accursed shell to fell an enemy that would have destroyed us all.

"It is very, very rare, in life, that two wrongs combine to make a right.

"It was wrong of Jazbet to fall prey to Azura's lies, and because of that, his body was left soulless.

"It was wrong of the other mer to fall prey to the lies of power, but through his bravery, his soul was left bodiless.

"Jazbet's body walks again, but the spirit is not his. A heroic Dunmer walks again, but it is not his body.

"Perhaps we will never know what miracle was worked, or who worked it. Perhaps it doesn't matter. It's enough for me to know that two men have given of themselves to make one woman happy, and it should be enough for all of you, as well.

"Happiness is a rare miracle, and it should not be underappreciated.

"Who is this new man who wears our beloved friend's face? I will let him introduce himself."

Cyndarius turned toward the castle, from which two figures slowly came.

Posted by: Teleran Mar 26 2005, 10:05 AM

Teleran’s mind reeled. Jazbet had been an Azurite, and he had not returned when he was given the chance. The body had been left empty; the Lich had filled the void; done for love, in exchange for his magical powers? It still didn’t feel right, but it was difficult to find fault with what Dagoth had done. Teleran looked around dazedly, before turning to the castle and the two figures approaching; his gaze far had warmed greatly from a few moments earlier.

Of course, Dar'Var was among those from
Freetown, even though he was a Azurite, well, not anymore. He had been saved from the Eidolon by Marien, who had posed as Zenithar. The Khajiit was in the crowds at the Memorial service, only really paying attention when Cyndarius spoke.

Dar'Var munched happily on a 'special' Sweetroll. "Mmm..
Sweet Mo- er, normal, normal Sugar..."

Melampus recalled. *swoosh* He returned to Raven Rock. Away from most of this chaos. He walked away from town to a quiet location and sat beneath a tree. He placed 3 candles onto the ground. Each representing the new temple. *poof* A lute appeared in his hands.

"All of the life
twas shed on her,
all of the death
that had overcome her.
All of the time
that is wasted now,
only to become
one of her....own.

Once they were false
and now they are gone.
Away on Nirn but
here in our hearts.
They have proved
what right and wrong
is and always will....be.

Now we've come to honor thee.
All of you,
all of me.
We bless you
and all of the fallen.
Let their souls rest...eternity."

Slyvos proceeded to walk out of the castle, arm in arm with Loranna, now visible to the mourners. To those who didn't know what had transpired within the past few hours, they would find out soon enough. As they reached the memorial service, Slyvos had a rather happy look on his face. He was ready to speak to the crowd.

'My name is Slyvos Araberith; I hope that I can make the most of this miracle that I have been blessed to recieve, and honor the memory of the fallen as we all do, especially noble Jazbet. Most that needed to be said has already been, so there is not much more to tell. I realize I am also not so great with words, so I cannot explain this further without sounding like a fool.'

He said no more, it was all he had to tell.

Beside Slyvos, Loranna smiles a bit, and squeezes his hand reassuringly.

She looks out to the crowd, about to say something, but as she takes in the looks of those gathered she stops, feeling her heart rise to her throat. To see so many come to honor those who had fallen, to see Allie, Arynel, and Solin standing with Sen-Yedda, to see Cyndarius, smiling, and hear the words he said ...

Her eyes moisten, and she says " ... There's nothing more I can think to add; how blessed we all are today ..."

Razbiah, Jazbet's cook, threw herself at Slyvos, as if she were going to kill him. However, all she did was pound her fists on her chests and sob, saying, "Jazbet! Jazbet!"

Kallen, Jazbet's seneschal, took her arm, with a frown on his young face, and one of the kitchen maids came forward to take her other arm. Sagging, Razbiah allowed herself to be led away.

The rest of the crowd was silent. No cheers, no claps, but this was a funeral. There were no shouts, no curses, either.

Across the hill, Aricyn stood, dressed all in white. The grey wolf sat calmly beside him.

He nodded at his brother, who smiled back.

Loranna's heart goes out to Razbiah; she silently hopes that the cook's ancestors will give her comfort in this hour.

Looking back, her eyes catch Cyndarius's for a second. She says nothing, but the look in her eyes speaks clearly enough: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart - both our hearts.

This latest development snapped Swims-in-Clouds out of respectful, meditative solemnity. This, this was interesting. He had a lot of friends in the Mage's Guild. He thus had a pretty good idea what a soul without a body was. It was not a situation he'd heard of reversing itself. What precisely had caused this "miracle"? Or, perhaps, who? He was not aware of any dieties likely to choose such a subject for miracle working. Of course, a lot of wierd things had happened lately, things he was far from understanding. He didn't like not understanding things. It was like a parasitic worm gnawing at his gut. The only way to make the feeling go away was to, by patient and methodical inquiry and study, figure it out. When it all fit together again he would feel whole.

Posted by: Rhedd Mar 26 2005, 11:09 AM

Slowly but surely, as if it had been planned, everyone slowly left the hilltop and headed for the tavern in Ald Raathim.

Slowly but surely, the funeral gave way to a wake.

Everyone had some happy thought to share with everyone else about the departed, and everyone needed a drink.

Posted by: Nalion Mar 26 2005, 11:26 AM

Nalion slowly walked away from the hill towards the tavern. The funeral speeches of Allerleirauh was touching, so many people and so many different cultures standing together and honouring the fallen. Truly remarkable. And a perhaps a glimpse of a brighter future?
And then there was Cyndarius' speech. He was hoping that both, Loranna and Slyvos would be happy together.

The Breton entered the tavern and took a place at the bar. After a short exchange of words, the innkeep handed him a glass of red wine. The Breton lifted it and admired its colour, like blood.

"To those who gave their lives so that others may live. May their deeds never be forgotten." The mage took a long swallow.

Tris greeted Nalion with a laugh.

"Nalion, look what I have!"

He held Sen-Yedda in his arms.

"I can't believe the General let me touch her, she's like a wolverine with one cub in its den after the rest have been eaten by weasels. Or something."

The baby blinked at them serenely, too unaware of its surroundings to be much disturbed by the rowdy crowd.

Outside, Allerleirauh sought out Solin on the hill recently used for the ceremony.

"You don't mind me pulling a fast one on you?" she asked softly, touching his arm. "It's not that I don't care about your opinions, so much as that I don't know what I plan to do until I do it... and you're very good about backing me up in public."

Loranna helps Slyvos find a comfortable spot to sit; the newly reborn Khajiit was still rather unused to the concept of mingling, and was finding all the hubbub to be quite the experience.

Loranna raises a glass of wine to Slyvos and says "To miracles and the brave souls who are blessed by them." She sips her wine carefully, though a loud belch nearly causes her to drop her glass from mirth.

" ... It's okay; it just means you drank it a bit too fast," she says, chuckling and shaking her head. "Careful now; no good getting drunk so soon."

She waves to Tris and Nalion when she sees them.

Nalion answers with a broad smile and puts his glass down.
"Tris! It's good to see you, and our princess, of course." The mage looked in wonder at the baby, lifted his hand as if to touch her, then dropped it, almost as if he was too shy. "She is a great gift, and she has the best parents she can have." He smiled at the fellow Breton, then pursed his lips.

He smiled at Loranna. He wasn't quite used to the sight of Slyvos yet;  it was like seeing a ghost.

*

"I have cast off this mantle again, Tris, but I have not gone unchanged."

The Breton mage carefully took the baby girl from Tris and cradled her in his own arms. He looked at Sen-Yedda and he felt that all the efforts, pains and deaths had been worth it. Not only because they saved Nirn, but because they saved Sen-Yedda.
"Hail Princess Starlight, may your life shine as your name. Take my blessings with you wherever you go." he whispered.

The mage looked at Tris, then gave the approaching Loranna a a smile and a nod. He looked at the innkeep and told him to serve a glass of wine for Loranna and Tris.
"We should toast, to our new couple, to Sen-Yedda and to all what has been done."

Allerleirauh smiled, her fair skin flushing. For a few moments she couldn't answer the question.

"She's a precious monkey, what did you expect?  It's strange for me, Solin. How many times I wished that I could bear a child of Vehk's. And now I have what I wanted. It seems too easy, I expect it all to collapse on my head."

*

Solin gave a quiet laugh.

"I guess I did not know," he said retaining his grin.

It, however, faded to a more serious expression after a moment.

"The world has not been cured of all ills yet," the Dunmer . "One still needs to watch for where it may fall, although, an extra eye or two helps along the way."

Loranna smiles back, and turns to Slyvos, conferring with him for a moment.  The Khajiit assures Loranna he'll be all right for a few moments and she kisses him on the lips before heading over to Tris and Nalion.

"Hi dears," she says, giving Sen-Yedda a radiant grin.  "It's incredible today, is it not?  I would have thought, before this whole ordeal, that after such a battle everyone would be all sorrowful and glum, but I feel uplifted ..."

" ... And I've not even had more than one glass of wine so far," she adds with a wink.

Loranna's words made Tris frown. He started to say something, changed his mind, then changed it again.

"Loranna, people are drinking and celebrating to raise their spirits in a time of darkness, and they're relieved to be alive. You're the only one here who doesn't feel that."

He threw back his drink, then banged his tankard on the table for a refill.

"A toast!" Tris said, standing on his chair, and raising the sloshing tankard. "TO SLYVOS AND LORANNA! TO SEN-YEDDA, BLESS HER TINY HEART! TO THE DEAD, AND TO THE LIVING!"

In the corner, a table full of Legionnaires roared in agreement. Most of the tavern did the same.

Reichi feebly raised his own tankard, "Hheeeeer, here!" he slurred, before falling out of his chair. "Im okah..."

"Not even most ills," Allerleirauh agreed. "Solin, I am going to reestablish the orphanage attached to Solunastra. And a school. The school will be, mostly, for the children of the orphanage, but it helps to pay for the orphans if it is a place where wealthy people send their children for instruction. Loranna raises her glass along with the rest, though her expression looks more reflective than festive for the moment. Still, she says "To all we hold dear," with Nalion.

Seeing Reichi fall out of his chair, she quietly decides to refrain from drinking too much more tonight, as doubtless there would be many hangovers to cure in the morning.

When Tris comes down from his perch, she says "Dear, when you have some time in the next few days, may we talk? I had some questions I wanted to ask you." Her expression by now had beome mostly serious.

"Indeed." Dante muttered, his mug joining the others that were raised, although he did not cheer. He did have a mouthful of Mazte, which almost caused him to gag, he wasn't the best at taking most liquors in such large doses. He never really fancied the taste much.

"I have time now," Tris said. "And I'm thinking little Precious here should go outside where the air doesn't smell like... what is that smell? C'mon, Nalion, time's up."

He rested the baby against his shoulder, where it promptly hiccuped and coughed a tiny, wide-eyed cough, spattering his shoulder with a sticky substance that was mostly milk.

"And that's why we let women raise babies," Tris said, reaching for a napkin with his free hand. "Come on, young lady, let's go outside. You coming, Loranna?"

The attentive barkeeper had refilled his glass, which he took with him and moved over to Dante.

She turned her eyes towards the sky. Masser was nearly full.

"I wonder where Jazbet is now. Do Khajiit climb the lattice, do you think? I couldn't help thinking, at the memorial service, of a fight I had with him. Jazbet wasn't easy to fight with, Solin. He was easy going, he could get along with anyone. But I struck a nerve, with words that seemed flattering to me. I told him he was a hero, and an example to others. Her voice had gotten smaller and smaller. Now she turned her back on Solin, striving to recover her composure.

Loranna looks over to Slyvos; the Khajiit had, by now, reached a point where he simply was sitting and watching everyone around him with a mix of wonder and bafflement, but most everyone else was more interested in their tankards than in him. He would be all right for a while longer.

She smiles a bit at Sen-Yedda, answering Tris with "Right behind you dears."

Outside, Loranna breathes in the fresh air, smiling once again. Tris was right; whatever that smell inside was, it was good to take a break from it.

"Well, I've been thinking," she says to Tris. "And reflecting on certain deficiencies in my upbringing. I was hoping you could tell me a bit more of the Nine Divines, particularly about Dibella. After Hogithum, I'm ..."

She lets her eyes drift up to the moon.

"... "I don't know, Loranna," Tris said, sitting companionably on the railing outside the tavern. "I think you started off nuts, and if what Sheogorath said about that last waltz is the truth, you're probably still a little nuts. But I don't see any reason that has to ruin your life. I've always been a little different from other folks myself."

He swung his foot, looking at the people passing along the street, patting the baby's back.

"About Dibella. I meant to tell this to Arynel. I don't even remember now if he and I ever got a chance to talk. The thing about enlightenment is you can start anywhere. It's like trying to pull up weeds, you pull one tiny little blade of grass and find it's all connected beneath the ground. Dibella is like that. She's beauty, but so much more. What doesn't she touch, what part of us is truly separate from that love of beauty? Solin, he's a strange one, but I bet he finds in his tools and sprockets the same thing I find in... never mind what I find beauty in."

Earlier

Marein Nightscar frustratedly tore at the sealed entrance to his cave, to no avail. Was his mark still at Ald Raathim? Of course it was...He recalled back, into Shai's room (he had never bothered to change it) just as she walked away, dressed in entirely black. Curious, he peered out into the hallway to see Teleran, also similarly dressed. All around people had solemn looks and dark clothing.

Funeral Service...

He followed the group out onto the hill and bowed his head solemnly. One of the dead should have been his wife, none of this should have ever happened. It was like he was losing her all over again - but this time he had watched her die, knew that she had to be dead. You could survive a fall from ramparts, as she had five years previously, but not a fall into the fiery depths of Dagoth Ur. As they walked towards the tavern, he turned and looked out to the west, to Cyrodiil, and shook his head. There was too much to miss around here. Shrugging, he decided to find himself a place nearby. The vampires' mines, perhaps.

Shai went with Teleran to the tavern, sipped a water, stared out the window, said nothing.

Arynel had been silent throughout the funeral; he had not said a word when the dead were honored, nor had he spoken when Allerleirauh introduced the new temple. The Breton had left soon after eyes drifted away and he was able to take his leave. He sat now on a large rock which had a naturally flattened surface on top, in a spot of high elevation in Daruhn.

“And so this thread has finally met its end, and so drawn forth it is found bound to yet another, and we are witness to the birth of the new, marked by fire and fire and pulled from the womb of history. Where does it start? Is the origin in the first womb expulsion where each of us first greets the world, or does it lie in the first steady footfall, foundation for all further explorations, or does it lie in the conjoining, the entwining threads from which the new is pulled forth? It is all of these, each one then a birth, a birth and new thread woven into fabric of the real, another sentence written into the world scripture.”

After Melampus performed his ceremony for the fallen, he headed back to Raven Rock. There he heard of people celebrating at Ald Raathim on the mainland. Melampus decided to go see these great warriors. He got a ticket on a boat to Blacklight. He new from there, he might be able to find a way to Ald Raathim.

He boarded his boat and set off...

The sun had long sunken beyond the hills and darkness had fallen. The stars were appearing slowly on the horizon and the moons gave off a faint, white light. Nalion left the tavern and headed towards the estate, not on a direct path though, for he wanted to enjoy the silence and the star-filled sky above. He noticed a lonely figure sitting on the crest of a hill, approached and recognized Arynel.
He nodded in greeting, sat down near him and looked at the stars.
"It's beautiful. We can still see the sky, the stars, each other, feel the grass under our feet and the wind in our face. It's been worth it, all this effort."
Nalion gazed at Arynel. "How does your path greet you?"

"I am well," the Breton said, "and it seems you are also well, though I well let you speak of your own standing. You did very well, and might I remind you that it was you, first, who thought of it. It was you, friend, who first mentioned the use of solid sounds on the pillar, and we see how all things have come together. We are witness to history unfolding, and yet we stand whole. What will be said of this in days to come?"

"I am well. I thank you for these words, but without the help of you and the others, I would have never had the chance to fulfill this plan. The information you and Allerleirauh have given me was invaluable. I do not know what the future holds in store for us. A great danger has been turned away, but there is still unrest on Nirn. I do know two things though. We survived, and we will and have taken part in the shaping of history. It is now where we have to live, cherish every moment, then we feel truly alive."
Nalion took a breath of fresh, cool air.
"I do not know how history will call us and describe what we did. Saviours? Legends? Heroes? Heretics?"

"Perhaps all of them," Arynel said, "consider how they speak of Vehk, savior, betrayer, legend, blasphemor?"

The Breton took a deep breath.

"Vehk, such a pity, he had so much and he wound up trapped in a little temple in his little city, his city that he had hoped so much for, and fell so short of his intentions. Such a pity, trapped for all that time in a little temple, trapped by the political tangle that was the temple he had helped to build. "Yes, it is sad. The burden of statesmanship and war where a great mind wished to be free. In a way, he had part in what we did, what began at Hogithum last year, we have accomplished now."
The Breton mage drew his knees up and folded his arms around them.
"What of us? Allerleirauh, Solin and you, Mercy, Mystery and Mastery, have taken up the duty to guard and teach Sen Yedda. You have a task here." The mage gazed at the ground before him.
"I think I will stay here for a few days, to sort out my thoughts and then... I haven't seen home in 15 years and there are matters to finally settle - matters I ran from all these years. It is time I summon the courage to put them to rest."

"Ah, I see." Arynel said. "I will tell you honestly that I hope Sen-Yedda is quick to mature, and I may take to traveling once again. I do not much care for the mantle of history, it is a burden I feel not right to bear."

"I don't know if you can help me. It's... well, it's family business. I was, am the son of a smith, who became apprentice to an enchanter. During this apprenticeship, I met and began to love a girl named Lirielle. She returned the feeling. Lirielle was the daughter of a ambitious local noble. Things went as things do when young love flourishes, but she was taken from me and kept in the noble's estate. I freed her and she went with me. Unforunately, we encountered a guard when we left the estate... I killed him as he wanted to stop us. We never returned to High Rock. "Two years later, she died."
The mage looked up.
"I guess that's my story. After her death, I began wandering aimlessly."

*on the boat to Blacklight

Melampus sits on the lower chambers of the Howler Moon (boat name). He is polishing his new glass sword (decided it was easier for travel) with his glass helmet sitting in his napsack. He has his glass armor on under his robe. He is very anxtious just sitting there waiting. There are a few others on the boat. There is an Alter man with a suit of ebony armor, a Nord woman with a set of bear armor, and an Argonian man with an extravagent robe with no visible armor showing. The Altmer was reading The Madness of Pelagius, the Nord was checking stock orders of mead, and the Argonian was writing recipes down in a book. The tides were picking up. The boat began to shake more. *crash* The boat was pushed quite a bit and the Argonian dropped some of his ingredients. Melampus laid his sword apon a hammock and when to help the Argonian. "Hell of a boat ride, eh." said Melampus.
"Ah, yes. Yes it is." said the Argonian. Melampus hands him some of the dropped marshmerrow. "Thank you, my friend. I am Lee-Tanor."
"My name's Melampus. It's a pleasure to meet you. You don't many Argonians up north. It's a nice site." said Melampus.
"I was up in Solstheim to gather some ingredients only native there. Like these holly berries. I am a sucker for potions. I'm an alchemist if you haven't guessed already." said Lee-Tanor.
"Ah, an Argonian alchemist. You don't see many of those either. Where are you heading, if you don't mind me asking?"
"I am heading to Blacklight to visit a friend of mine. He owns a shop there. I occasionally supply some potions, at a price." the Argonian chuckles.

After a few hours, they reach Blacklight. "Before going, my friend, I would like to give you something for your journeys." said Lee-Tanor.
Melampus, who never declines a gift, accepted. The Argonian handed him some bread and durzog meat. "I hope it will be of some help on your journey."
"Thank you." said Melampus.
Melampus decided to set south of Blacklight hoping to find Ald Raathim. Maybe he will find it soon.

Swims-in-Clouds swam along the shore, contemplating the people he had met, the things he had found and the things he had heard since arriving at Ald-Raathim. He noticed a solitary figure standing on the cliffs on the shore. Curious, he decided to introduce himself. He swam closer, then levitated up and dropped gently onto the smooth rock surface. "Greetings", he said. "My name is Swims-in-Cloud. A beautiful day, isn't it?"

The Breton chuckled to himself for a moment.

"The secret of the world cracking, you say? If it was secret I do not suppose you would have heard of it, or do you mean to say how it was done? Well, that is another thing entirely. Pondering and watching as a means for uncovering? Pondering and watching are apt to reveal thoughts and sites, but no more secrets than that which you already know, which brings about another question. You seek those wth similar interest? Is this not the way of many, seeking after one's own kind? I dare say you are hardly unique in this aspect, or do you mean to say you seek after those who know it? Rumor of those powerful enough to crack they egg, do you suppose it was their power which cracked it, or that with the cracking they became powerful? You see that your words are twisted like ropes, although I do not believe this to be your intention."

Arynel stops, and focuses his attention on the Argonian.

Swims-in-Clouds blinked, attempting to sort through all of that and melt it down to a comprehensible level, a state where such words could be analyzed and molded and worked with. Finally, he settled on a response. "I can not pretend to fully understand all that you have just said, but your words somehow give my mind the feeling of expanding and sinking simultaneously. If you are willing, I should like to become further entangled by such "rope" as you put it. If I manage to free myself from it later, I imagine I'll come out wiser for the process."

"The Hist are the pillars on which life rests. The death of the Hist is the destruction of living, the active experience of life. Great is the power of the Hist and their wisdom, but they are limited in their ability to actively defend themselves from those who do not understand their true value, who chop them down to form buildings and weapons and tools and fuel, all things that fade and perish and are ultimately of trivial importance. We, whom you have termed Argonians, were formed by the Hist to serve as the hands, feet and spears they do not have to protect themselves. Though we have tried with all our strength to protect them, we have largely failed. Few remain. The Hist have been directing me through the sleeping wakefulness, planting images if my mind of the world egg cracking and trees sprouting up around and through before the egg heals and closes. I do not know how I am to accomplish this, but I feel through my core that this is the task I have been set."

"Very well then, you are a crusader." Arynel said.

"Tell me," the Breton asked, "do you wish to better know how to protect them, or how to make new ones grow?"

A look of shock passes over the Argonian's face. "Regrow this Hist? Is such a thing possible? All that I, my people, have known is that the loss of a Hist tree is irrevocable. I have sought only the power to protect those which remain. If, by some means, the Hist could be regrown that would excede my greatest hopes, but the exact cracking of the egg seems an easy feat compared with this from what my studies have indicated."

Arynel looked blankly at the Argonian.

"I am considering whether you are one who wishes for an answer or wishes for a conversation." The Breton said. "Tell me which it is, so that I may make my words better fit to your requirements. Now then, if you wish to protect them, might I suggest we consider the reason they are in danger."

"They are in danger because the Dunmer see in them nothing more than useful materials, particularly the tree sap they use for making resin. This resin is molded into the armor worn by warriors of House Indoril and the Ordinators. The military balance of power between Black Marsh and Morrowind ebbs and flows, as is the usual way of such things. When we are strong, we can protect the Hist. When we are weak, the Hist fall. What is lost in periods of weaknesses can not be regained, no matter how strong we become later. In seeking apotheosis through the exact cracking of the egg, I seek the strength and wisdom to defend the remaining Hist at all times."

Arynel looked at the Argonian with a confused expression for a time.

"You are asking two things at once." The Breton said finally. "Do you wish to know how to protect the Hist, or how to, as you say it, crack the egg? Ah, but you think they are the same. Perhaps, but I would not teach a fish to fly if by swimming he could complete the same tasks. I will say this, if you want to protect the Hist, it would be most helpful to be there, where they are, to protect them. They are in danger while unguarded."

"I am no great warrior. Such talents as I have lay largely in other areas. Among those who remain behind are warriors whose skill with spear and spell is far beyond that I can claim. Yes, I feel that cracking the egg is the only real answer to this riddle. Dunmer have long lives. Long enough for them to hone their skills to levels we can not match. The strongest of our heroes withers in comparison with the Tribunal, or even the strength of the High Ordinators or Her Hands guards, let alone the Telvanni councilors who are among our most dangerous adversaries. Against such foes, such aid as I could offer in my present state is not likely to make much of a difference. The threat is not immediate however. Most of our enemies vanished at the dragon break. That does not mean this is an unimportant issue. It is a latent, seething danger. The Dunmer have not forgotten their armor craft or left their greed. When they regain strength, they will try again."

Balmora, the night before-

“Sera! Sera!” Shouted one disgruntled vampire, as he leapt down from a rooftop and landed beside Volrina. Who had hoped to of had a quiet stroll around the town, whilst everyone else did the work.

“What is it?” She asked angrily, staring the Dunmer down.

“Someone assaulted a Khajiit at the Morag Tong Guildhall!” He shouted back, showing no respect for other vampire’s ears.

“So?” She asked back sarcastically, “It was probably just a vampire who got a little hungry, and if they were feeding on a Khajiit, all the better.”

“No, Sera. It was no vampire; we have two vampires claiming to have seen a Breton man.”

“What?!” She shouted pushing the other vampire away from herself, causing him to fall over. Once the mer had stood again, she said. “Let me see this Khajiit…”

Arynel sat silently, listening to the Argonian speak.

"Ah, I understand," the Breton said when he had finished, "you want to learn how to live longer, and how to fight harder, and use better magicka. "I seek apotheosis through the exact cracking of the egg for the purpose of protecting the Hist. I do not want to die, so the anticipated lengthening of life would be welcome, but not the purpose. Long life is a goal attained more easily through conventional means. The Telvanni, for instance, have mastered this art. I despise them, but it can not be denied that their's is a merocratic system. With greater skill comes greater advancement. If it was soley personal power and longevity I sought, I would join House Telvanni. Apotheosis, judging from the history of the Tribunal, is a heavy burden not pleasantly borne, but one I wish to take if it could protect the Hist."

"Your job, you know, is an easier one than you might think. You walk in Vivec's footsteps; which is to say, you choose your own path, and blow over us all like a sweetly scented wind."

She turned her face to the starlit sky.

"I wasn't lying when I said I heard his voice. He's a long way off. But not so far, or so changed, that he doesn't watch the things he used to watch and love those he used to love. Maybe that's a sign of his error, that he trapped himself forever in amber. Maybe. But I find it reassuring."

Balmora, the night before-

After no more than one hour of speaking with the Khajiit, Volrina had nothing to go on. Apart from, “He was a Breton”, “He came from behind me”, and “He stole a lousy stinkin’ stupid book”. Fantastic.

“Well then…” Volrina started, “We’ll just to find this person’s point of entry to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Although, I’m still quite amazed he was able to avoid our traps.”

“Indeed, I suppose just waltzing in is out of the question, as the majority of our traps are located there. As well as the fact that there are hardly any people left on this island.” Stated Janis, who had accompanied Volrina.

“Well, that leaves two options…he either had a mark set here, which is preposterous as he recalled away. Or…” She broke off for a second, smiling. “The Mages’ Guild.”

“The Mages’ Guild?”

“The Mages’ Guild.” She answered, as she crossing the Odai and entering the Mages’ Guild, it was surprisingly empty. Apart from two vampires that were sitting across from each other, playing some sort of frivolous board game.

“Ok, you two grab some furniture and join in.” Volrina said, as she picked up a small table and hurled it into the guild guide platform. Janis and the others followed suit.

Some time later-

There was now a hefty pile of furniture gathered on the guild guide platform. “Ok, now light it on fire.” Volrina said smugly.

“Um…will that affect the stone?” Asked one vampire, as he readied a fireball in his hand.

“Just light it on fire!” Volrina snarled, and the vampire did as he was asked, shortly there was a large fire engulfing the small office room.

“Excellent…”

Arynel nodded.

"Is he watching, then, has he been watching? Who has been watching? The gods, the aedra, and daedra? I see I have hands either way, and I will consider them if they give me words."

The Breton himself looked towards the sky.

"I find it such a shame, that he wound up where he was, imprisoned, and I fear the same fate for myself."

"Yes, he watches all the time. I want to rebuild his city," Allerleirauh said. "I didn't know I was going to say it until I said it, and I have no idea where the money will come from. Which Sermon was it? The one describing the city as Vehk's body, a city to guide people into better paths, where no one could get lost unless they wanted to get lost. "Haven't you just answered your own question?" Allerleirauh said, smiling, and leaning against him.

"I could wish that my little bird might fly to my window more often. But I won't cage him or clip his wings. I suppose I'll have to plant a garden with tasty berries instead.

Mine is a city framed by intermittent hopes, it's mortar dreamscapes and its shape defined by the cutting blade of world law, and even that it may ascend when there is want or need, and in my city they are but one. "May I shelter beneath your canopy, then?" Allerleirauh asked. She brushed his hair with her mouth. And then they were reminded why the first days of a child are not a good time for romance, by a tiny, piercing shriek from Sen-Yedda, in Allerleirauh's lap.

Allerleirauh wrinkled her nose.

"I want to take Sen-Yedda to Solunastra," she said, tending to the baby. "Far away from any Dunmer who might try to spoil her with worship. But I don't have the heart to keep her from Loranna entirely. So I suppose I will be doing a lot of traveling. What do you think, what should we do?"

During the burial ceremonies, the astonishing announcement of Dagoth taking Jazbet's body for his own, and everything else, a fearsome Seven Foot tall, giant of a man, decked in full Ancient Nordic Steel, with an axe which was called Ravenfire in his right hand, gazed into the sky, in the direction of his homeland, Skyrim. In Skyrim, he was a bandit, extremely Legendary, for attacking the merchents of Imperial race, who were extremely disliked in the region where he operated. His name was known all over Skyrim, but not here, in Morrowind. It was Roggar Fork-beard, and, just like his name stated, his grizzly brown beard was twisted into a fork, making him look like the fiercest Daedra had come to town. In his left hand, he carried Ironwall, his shield that could not be pierced, cracked, or shattered, by anything. When the little burial meeting broke up, he had gone over to a grassy hillock and sat upon the top, laying his axe and shield beside him. He watched the clouds go by, remembering the summer days in Skyrim that he had spent like this as a boy, froliking with a toy axe and shield. His were glazed kind of, as he remembered those times, when his family had been alive, when everything had seemed perfect.

Ald Raathim: Mirea

Dante was in his room in Jazbet's castle. Loranna's castle. What was this place now, anyway?

Mirea entered without knocking, practically on tiptoe. She had overheard Dante's conversation at the tavern last night.

"Dante," she said in a small voice, "Are you mad at me?"

Mirea entered without knocking, practically on tiptoe. She had overheard Dante's conversation at the tavern last night.

"Dante,"  she said in a small voice, "Are you mad at me?"

*

Dante sat up on his bed, he had been staring at the ceiling before hand. He regarded Mirea with a cold eye, "Yes." He muttered, "Though I thought it was quite obvious."

"I did what Illidan asked me to do!" Mirea said. "What was I supposed to do? I told him he should tell you, and he said no. And he was right, too, when he did tell you, you wouldn't even talk to him after that! Oh, I don't care. Anyway I have a message. The General found out how to cure him."

"I didn't talk to him...because of the lies." Dante scowled, gripping onto the mattress. He blinked, realising what he was doing and shook his head quickly, his anger subsided, "I understand where you're coming from...but--." He stopped short as he heard the next sentence.

"A cure?" He asked, smirking slightly. "It'll never come soon enough."

"What's that supposed to mean? Is there some magic time limit that only you know about? He already drinks blood, he's not going to become more of a vampire than he is now."

"What?" Dante asked, blinking. "If you can call wanting my brother to be cured A.S.A.P a magic time limit, then I guess that's what it is."

"Ohh so that's what you meant," Mirea said. "Well, wait no more! We have come to your rescue... sort of.

"The General tried to find the vampire hunters who used to have the cure. The thing is, since now the God of Worms is like a god for all undead, the vampires don't attack nearly as many people and so there are a lot fewer vampire hunters, and the vampires banded together and killed a bunch of them, and they don't have the cure anymore. So she heard some cultists of Molag Bal had the cure, but they were overrun and killed by Azurites. But never fear! The witches of Tamarilyn Coven in Menevia... that's Wayrest now, in High Rock... are supposed to know how to make a cure. If anyone can find them. They went into hiding when the Azurite stuff started because the Wayrest militia was going around killing Daedra worshippers."

Dante listened to Mirea speak, smiling as she brought up a solution then frowning as she discarded them. "So...these witches," Dante began, "do we have a more specific location as to where they are?"

As he awaited an answer, he layed back down on his bed, smiling calmly. Although he probably knew he wasn't going to get the greatest answer, he was contempt with what he knew already.

"Somewhere in Menevia," Mirea repeated. "It's not a huge province, and people there ought to know something. The witches used to dance naked around this big tree. Or maybe a bunch of big trees. Anyway, maybe they've come back."

Dante watched as Mirea left through the door, pausing for a moment as he let everything he had just been told sink in. Then it hit him, he would have to let others know. Sure, Mirea could do it, but he remembered what happened last time she had a message to share...

Dante left his room, off to try and spread the message.

Dante finds Loranna in her room, brewing up a new batch of potions; she smiles when Dante tells her the reason for his visit.

"A cure for Illidan? That's wonderful," she says. "A trip through Wayrest hmm?"

She looks back to her alchemical equipment. " ... I'd be happy to go of course; Illidan is one of our own, but as I am I'll attract a lot of attention. However, I think I may have a solution to that. Let me ask Slyvos if he's interested in going with us while you talk to the others, how about that?"

"Alright, I'll go find the others then." Dante stated, turning and heading outside of the room. Intent on finding Nalion next.

Dante found Nalion inside the library, where he quickly hailed the Breton. "Nalion, guess what?..." He asked, before filling him in with the details.

Nalion looked up from the parchments he was investigating when Dante entered. A smile crept on his face as he listened to Dante recounting the information.
"I told you, Dante." he answered. "I will come with you as I've promised, and Menevia is close to home..." The mage looked around. "Besides, I should get out of this stuffy library."

"Ok, great!" Dante said, giving Nalion a slap on the shoulder. He ran outside again, looking for other party members to spread the message to. They were surprisingly hard to find once you wanted to find them.

Eventually he came across Teleran, moving items around in a clearing. Dante stepped underneath a floating crate and hailed him. He repeated the information he had been told beforehand.

"I've asked Kallen to help find people and relay the message," Loranna says. "We'll meet in the study as we usually do, to get everyone organized. I'll go check with the Mage Guild now to find out if we can transport there directly or wether we need to hire a coach once in Wayrest."

"Sounds good to me." Dante said, "I've just got to go suit up." At that, he left the clearing, back to his room to prepare for the trip.

Solunastra: Tris

It had been a good feast. As usual, Tris didn't want to ask what meat went into the pies. Probably giant rat, with an Orc cooking it. But the roast had been venison, sweet and young and not gamy at all. A gift, Allerleirauh said, from very highly placed friends. The pastry had been his very favorite, stuffed with cherries. And the wine had come from Wayrest.

Tris was pleasantly relaxed but not drunk. It was good to be home.

"You look the part, you know," Tris said, sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling his boots off. "The brave, dutiful seneschal of Solunastra."

He reached out to touch Ciel's chain of office, heavy gold links with the sun, moon and star pendant. The guild members did not usually dress formally; but they had tonight, for Ciel's swearing in.

"I went to see Herwyn Brand," Tris said. "Elysana's new spymaster, the one who's chasing us. To tell him what we did at Hogithum. Maybe it will be enough to earn you a pardon. Or at least commute a death sentence to a sentence of exile."

Ciel gave Tris an iquisitive look.

"One can only hope," he replied. "Somehow I doubt the Queen will see me as doing her any favor and, perhaps I miss judge her but, I'm not sure I would really trust a pardon"

The knight slid the chain off from around his neck and set it on a nearby stand.

"How did this Brand react to you?"

Tris laughed softly.

"You mean this last time? Or the first time?"

For a moment he was lost in his thoughts.

"Some things got passed over," Tris said. "They didn't seem important, in the face of the whole universe being destroyed. I went home to sign that paperwork for my father. You know that part. When I came back, we were on our way to war. So I didn't tell you my father tried to have me killed. The whole thing was a setup, he was working with Elysana. I got out just fine, but I very nearly had to duck into the Void in front of him. That was the first time I met Herwyn Brand.

"You've probably met him, just in another context. He was one of Elysana's battlemages. He's not very old, moderately good-looking, seems smart. Not a bad guy. We talked a long time, standing in Elysana's garden, when I went back. I showed him how to see edges. He's afraid of the Void, afraid of Leseth, not afraid of me. He called me arrogant. Well, I am."

You'd think they'd suspect something. But Allie picks them for the opposite reason. Melly, the chambermaid. Roggar had heard about this so-called 'Cure for Vampirism', and had heard that a group was setting out to find it. Roggar had been trained to be a Battlemage when he was small, but took to Banditry when his family had been killed. He had decided to go with the group in search of this Coven of witches, called, the Tamarilyn Coven. He also thought he might be able to get some loot out of it. He hoisted Ravenfire onto his shoulder and let his shield-arm hang. He walked down towards the General Store and bought some paper, an ink well, and a quill pen. He sat down and wrote a small note to Kallen,

'Dear Kallen,
I shall be joining you and your friends on this quest to find and obtain the Cure for Vampirism from the Tamarilyn Coven of Witches in Menevia. I've heard that it is in High Rock, and I've been wishing to go there and view the mountains for a long time, I've just never got around to it. I do not wish to interact with these Witches, but it will do good if this Cure is correct. Thank you for your time,
Roggar Forkbeard'

His name he signed in the scrip of the Ancient Nord's, believing that only Kallen would recognize it. He got up and went out of the General Store. He strode over to Kallen's office, catching many Dark Elves staring at his huge frame, and very large height. He ducked inside and placed the note on the Seneschal's desk, and left the building. He decided to go to a small secret place of his.

It was a small cave on a side of a hill facing away from the city. He went inside and took off his bulky armor. He replaced it with a Black, studded leather-type Armor, and took out a pack. He also took out a black cloak and Two, black Scimitars, whose edges were gold. He opened up the hiking pack and placed inside it a robe of Silver and a Bluish-icey color, which was fashioned in the style of Nalion's. This robe had belonged to Roggar's father. Roggar had recieved it when he started Battlemage training. He also placed in the pack a few magical items, such as a metal heart shaped item, which glowed the same Bluish-Icey color. This item gave it's user added strength, added Magicka, and envoked the spell of Feather on a Constant Effect. He strapped on the pack and began walking towards the Caslte. Once he was in, he had to resist the urge to knock out the guards and take everything of value, but he resisted. He finally reached the Study and walked in. His brow had accumulated some sweat from resisting that urge, but it eventually went away.

Reichi, Eya, Tohe, and Raddin had each been found by Kallen and headed off to the Study in the castle. Tohe was in his normal attire, his silver saber strapped to his waist, Reichi in his robe, his dagger and shortsword no doubt concealed in his robes, Eya in a red expesive looking robe, and Raddin in rather common clothing.

Still, the great black axe, Wolfsbane was still at his side, and still stained crimson from Red Mountain's battle.

Balmora, Bhlaalu council manor-

“That’s all you could find?” Volrina asked, kicking a gagged and bound Nord a couple of times. His face was red and he was struggling against his binds.

“We searched half the continent for this little blighter.” Commented an Orc, one of the members of the hunting party. The others nodded in agreement.

“Preposterous!” scowled the Altmer, who had become quite renowned amongst the vampire’s ‘council’. “This simply cannot do! Tomorrow night, you lot better be back here with at least fi--“

“Quiet.” Volrina muttered, raising her hand wearily. “Let’s not get too far over our heads here, Altmer. Two more would suffice, for our situation at least, we will just have to ration this one accordingly.”

Hearing this, the Nord began to struggle more, this time muffled screams and grunts escaping his gagged mouth. “Aww…you’ve frightened him.” Said one Dunmer, dressed in fine ebony armour.

“Don’t worry, I’m an expert at keeping the cattle comfortable.” He added with a smirk. The vampire approached the Nord and hoisted him to his feet; he rested his head on the Nord’s shoulder and whispered something into the man’s ear. He immediately began to thrash around violently.

The Dunmer smiled again, before tracing his tongue up along the man’s neck, causing him to whimper slightly. He then dropped him, letting his mentally broken body slump back down to the floor.

Ald-Raathim

Gossip is eternal, it’s like the wind. Formless, moving in and out, passing from one person to the next. It can bring the strongest man to his knees, and be gentle enough to bring a smile to a child’s face. It will always remain as long as people walk the face of Nirn. Even in the foul aftertaste of death and terror, gossip still remains on peoples tongues. Nothing can rinse out the taste of gossip, not even hardships.

“...the fletcher gave my backside a good kicking, freed my Gaur, then scared the damn thing so it would urinate in my bedroom, messing up all my clothes. Then lastly he insults my wife something fierce, before laughing about it.” A Dunmer merchant angerly states, standing next to a plump, Dunmer cooling himself with a paper fan.

“What?” The plump Dunmer’s cheeks droop, as he drops his mouth in shock. “What did they look like? I need to be aware if I see them.” Chunky replies, wiping the sweat from his brow.

The Dunmer squints as if trying to recall a memory. “Well, this may be hard to believe but the one doing all the work as a slim Bosmer, a tall, slim Bosmer. Almost a head smaller then a Nord. Also he was the darkest Bosmer I’ve even seen, and his hair was real curly. The S’wit was half-bred for sure, with what, I don’t know. Bastard had eyes as green as emerald in sunlight, you’ll know his gaze when you see it. The other one...” His squint intensifies. “...was a short fellow, a few hairs shorter then a regular Bosmer. He was all hooded up though, I couldn’t see him at all, but I did hear his voice."

The merchant pauses and slowly smiles. "You’re gonna think I'm crazy, but the fletcher sounded like a Altmer. And if that wasn’t enough, an Ogrim has been seen wondering around the outskirts of town.”

“If we didn’t have enough troubles lately.” The portly Dunmer lowers and shakes his head, making his chubby cheeks jiggle. “The east wind brings in all kinds of trash.” He lifts his gaze to his fellow Dunmer. “I’ll spread the word. Marrow, friend.”

They both turn, going separate directions as the gossip begins to spread, like morning sunlight.

With many thanks to Allerleirauh, I am pleased to unveil an avatar that actually LOOKS like Loranna! smile.gif

I'll take this moment to post a bio for our winsome Nord lass; this bio will also briefly sum up the events of our various RPs, albiet from a very Loranna-centric perspective:

===

Name: Loranna Pyrel
Race: Nord
Sex: Female
Hair: Blond; down to middle of her back, slightly wavy. Often wears her hair down, without ornament.
Eyes: Piercing Blue
Skin: Ashen colored (cursed by Azura)
Notable Features: Silver tearstreaks under her eyes running down her cheeks.
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 143 lbs
Physique: Busty, lovely figure, toned from excersice and the rigors of adventuring, though not noticably more muscular than the average Nord woman.

===

Born to a troubled and ultimately broken household in the Nord village of Hasfalgar, Loranna was taken by her father onto the open road at the young age of four, and spent most of her preteen years either on the run from monsters in the wild or waiting in taverns and temples for her father to return from another failed adventure. By the age of thirteen, she was left in a tavern in the Imperial City, and her father never came back; she grew to adulthood working as a barmaid.

Loranna's family had a history of instability; her mother, rejected by her own father, went mad when her second child was stillborn and her father never could admit to himself that he was not the mighty adventurer he kept pretending he was. Left without any real education from her parents, Loranna was swayed to the worship of Azura, and soon after Lord Vivec shattered Azura's spirit two Hogithums ago, Loranna agreed to house the Nirn-marooned Daedra Prince in her own body, and work to speed Azura's recovery and triumphant return to Morrowind as goddess of the Dunmer people.

Loranna's initial exposure to the world as the Incarnate of Azura happened at a couple of parties, both hosted by Lord Darius Practus. In the first, mayhem cast a pall over the festivities and nearly fifty children were killed due to the actions of the Daedra Prince Sheogorath, and in the second the High Rock village of White Haven (the Souther) was wracked by an attack by a witches coven, and by soldiers from Wayrest. Loranna, driven insane by housing Azura, continued to believe things were going to get better.

(RPs: Hearthfire Ball, Noble Seamstress's Spotted Owl)

Assembling heroes met during the parties, and other adventuers recently met, Loranna embarked on a trip through Skyrim, havoc and destruction left in her wake. During this trip, she learned that Azura was impregnated by Vivec and thus Loranna carried the child of that union. Loranna also learned that she was prophcised to kill that which she loved most, to die giving birth to her child, and to die and never die, and met her parents once more. Her father did not recognize her and her mother was still carrying the bones of her stillborn son; mother and daughter fought in a surreal episode in which Loranna tampered with the nature of Azura itself, and only Loranna survied the encounter.

(RP: Trail of Frozen Tears)

Finally starting to realize the horror of what she was doing, Loranna surrendered to the forces of Sir Ceil, asking for trial in Morrowind so that her baby may be born in that land. While awaiting trial, however, events conspired to free her and she undertook the Pilgramage of the Seven Graces, growing increasingly unable to justify to herself the actions Azura was taking through her. At the city of vivec, Loranna finally urned herself in once again, and called to be put on trial; while denouncing what Azura had done, the Daedra Prince took over Loranna completely and created the Azurites. Azura was driven back to Oblivion by the bravery of many heroes, and somehow Loranna survived the encounter, fleeing with the others to the realm of Ald Raathim.

(RPs: End of Trail of Frozen Tears; Evening Star Parade and most of Morning Star Parade)

Driven to help fix the problems she created, Loranna trained to become a Healer, and took part in the quest to retrieve the legendary Flamekiss. Having by this point fallen in love with both the Lich Dagoth and the Khajiit Jazbet, Loranna agreed to marry Jazbet, but the noble Khajiit's soul was taken by Azura, right after she talked to Dagoth about being lifelong friends with him and wife to Jazbet. At the Battle at Red Mountain, Loranna was part of the group of heroes who broke the dragon to destroy the Azurites, drawing upon the power of the goddess Dibella to protect Jazbet's soul from utter destruction.

(RPs: End of Morning Star Parade; Blue Dawn)

Loranna currently resides in Ald Raathim as its Lady of the Castle, Jazbet's soul having departed and his body now inhabited by Dagoth.

===

Loranna is an affectionate person, who strives to mix compassion with the wisdom to truly help others, though she tends to be overly critical of herself when she fails to recognize what other people truly need. Though not a warrior by nature, she is willing to fight when she must, preferring to use absorb magics to take her opponent's strength and life force from them directly; she often combines such attacks with magics to give her allies energy above and beyond their normal strength, as she likes to both take and give.

Loranna

Okay, notice, the post said PM, you can put up a character bio in the thread if you want (I won't stop you) but take note of that PM line. Also, it's not necessary to include the whole RP story, or even much backstory. Just include basic things that give people an idea of who your character is. There's no need to write out what your character does in the RP in the bio, that's a whole 'nother ball game, and we're playin' every field.

Balmora, Bhlaalu council manor-

"What?! They've found a cure?!" Volrina screamed, angrily tugging at certain parts of her hair.

"Well...they don't have the cure yet..."replied a cloaked vampire. Looking to either side of himself nervously.

"Look." She said, leaning in closer and whispering, "I think it best that we keep this on the low from the other vampires. Who knows what some of them might think."

"Yes, Sera..." He replied obediently, bowing. "Is that all you ask of me?"

"No..." She began, "I'd like you to put a stop to this, if possible. Take two of your friends and stalk these lot, and when it looks like they're getting close to a cure..." She stopped, and traced her thumb along the front of her neck. The other vampire nodded.

"And, before you go. Tell Illidan I'd like to see him."

Ald Raathim, Castle Study

Loranna looks around, noting the people who have agreed to accompany Dante on his quest to find the witches with the cure for vampirism. She clears her throat to get peoples' attention.

"Right; I've spoken with the Mage's Guild," she says. "At the moment, there's no guild guide in Menevia proper, but that's not much of a concern. High Rock has excellent roads and it won't be much trouble to hire a carriage from one of the major, guild-holding cities to take us to Menevia proper."

"We'll be taking the guild guide to Evermore, one of the major cities close to Menevia providence," Loranna explains, pointing to a map of High Rock. "From there we'll head south to Veremeir Wastes, the town closest to Tamariyn Coven from what Allie has been able to tell us. We'll ask about the coven there, and if we learn nothing useful we'll try the next nearest towns, Windkeep and Norvulk Hills. And if that doesn't turn up any leads, we'll improvise from there."

"Bear in mind, Menevia Providence is part of Wayrest now, Queen Elysana's territory. The good Queen and her spies won't necessarily recognize any of us save for myself on sight, but all the same, let's not advertise who we really are. Elysana still has grudges against some of our people, and I doubt she'd see anything wrong with one or all of us gracing her dungeons if she heard we were in her territory."

"Speaking of which ..." Loranna pulls out a potion vial and drinks it, and her grey skin fades to its original pink color. She smiles, saying "Ta da! Potion of disguise; just got it worked out. How's my hair look?"

Pulling out a small mirror, Loranna frowns. " ... It was supposed to change more than just my skin color ..." she says, touching her tearstreaks. "Hrn ... okay; let's try a second dose ..."

Drinking a second vial, Loranna's hair turns red, shortening and straightening, and her tearstreaks fade. Loranna examines herself, saying " ... I guess that will have to do; for the duration of this trip, I am Grier, your healer and alchemist. Anyone who calls me by that witch's name Loranna is going to have their head handed to them in a sack."

Loranna/Grier gives a fierce grin, which almost looks appropriate on her face ... almost. "Okay everyone; any questions? If not, then let's move out."

Reichi and Tohe stepped forward. "Im definatly going," Reichi said. "Can't let Illidan stay a Vampire if he dun' want to be one, 'sides, i gotta make up for that one time i nailed him in a face with a table." He grinned.

Tohe shrugged, he just wanted to see High rock again.

Eya And Raddin however, elected to stay. Afterall, the world had just been saved, and, both had a bit of catching up to do.

Posted by: w0nders Mar 31 2005, 10:33 AM

"Glad to see that we've had such a nice turn out of people." Dante said, smiling. "Although the queen has never seen me, I'm almost positive that one of her men have, at one point or another. And with my attire, I sometimes tend to stick out in a crowd." He added, unclipping the thin chain that held his tattered cape to his body and letting it drop to the floor.

Dante replaced the cape with an old worn cloak. Brown in colour and rough to the touch.
The fabric stuck out awkwardley where they covered his pauldrons, and he also kept the hood down, he doubted he'd be needing to use it.

“Very nice Lor, I think I prefer you as you were,” Teleran said. “I’m coming; we can’t let Illidan stay a vampire after all.” His plain grey cloak shifted to reveal a full chitin armor set beneath it. His inexperience with the armor was apparent in the hesitance of his movements. His usual gauntlet and pauldron clanked together in a pack slung over his shoulder alongside potions and some travel rations

He reflected on what little he had heard of High Rock, "We’re going to High Rock; I guess I’ll get to see the Breton honor code that Tris and Ciel were talking about. I wonder what the stipulations are. Do they have a codified form of conduct for barroom brawls?"

Loranna frowns. "First rule; don't start barroom brawls," she says. "Second rule, don't fight like you mean to kill the guy - don't go for obvious weak points, just slug him in the face a few times and avoid using magic. Or so I surmise."

"And third rule - don't start barrom brawls," she adds, winking.

She looks to see who else wishes to come along.

Posted by: Issa_Yojimbo Mar 31 2005, 11:06 AM

Issa Yojimbo had been travelling across Morrowind in search of a weaponsmith, historian, or anyone who could explain his Prophet's Edge.

Moth Priests had once told him that it was tied to the Elder Scrolls, that it could change prophecy itself, or the world to fit prophecy. However, on every occasion, it had failed to do so.

So Issa began to read the history books and travel the country in search of some answers.

His search brought him to an old Redguard named Jack Dawkins, who had been the chief weaponsmith to the Emperor himself.

"What do you know of this sword? A Moth Priest told me..."

They sat near the fireplace of the Redguard's home in Taneth.

"A Moth Priest told me that it could 'change the world' or something. He said that it was connected directly to the Elder Scrolls themselves."

The old Redguard laughed.

"He told you that, did he? Hehehe...

Let me tell you a story about how that sword came to be...

"A long time ago, during the peak of the Empire, there was a Moth Priest named Demitrius Issius Iogimbius. Now, only the highest ranked of the Moth Priests could partake in the ritual attuning of the Elder Scrolls. This Demitrius tried to advance in the heiarchy of priesthood, but could not. At first, he triest honestly, studying ancient writings and worshipping the gods fervently. When he did not succeed, he slowly turned to darker methods. He began corrupt arts, spreading false rumors and sabotage throughout the Moth Order. He was finally caught, and expelled from the priesthood.

"Demitrius was infuriated. He sought out weaponsmiths and enchanters to create an ultimate weapon. A sword of such great power, that it could alter the course of history in progress, and change prophecy, so he could get back at the Moth Priests. He expirimented with powerful enchantments that delved deep into the very tapestries of magic that tied the world together. However, he missed one vital part.

"The Elder Scrolls have already recorded what has happened. There was no way to change prophecy.

"Thus, he created Prophet's Edge. A failed expiriment, it is a very dangerous sword that, in attempt to change prophecy, rips holes in the world that allow transportation through the Void. It also reacts to the ethereal forces in the world rather violently. It is hard to control, and very destructive, but it won't change prophecy. How you got ahold of this, I don't know, but it is obvious that the Moth Priest who told you the lie about it was under the corruption left behind by Demitrius."

"But what do I do with it?" Issa asked

"Don't try to change prophecy. Change the future. Stop waiting around for some artifact or power to make you victorious. Go out and get it for yourself. I don't know why Prophet's Edge behaves the way it does, but maybe its purpose is yours to discover."

Posted by: Nalion Mar 31 2005, 11:50 AM

A few hours before Loranna summoned the group:

Nalion sat once more in the library of Ald Raathim, parchments laid out before him, covered with writings in his tiny script. The candle gave off a flickering light, but it was enough for the mage to read over what he has written.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who am I?
Wanderer, seeking my fate?
Wonderer, at events of late?
Born a prisoner, confined in space,
Bound by bones, which form a place.
Seen the boundaries, lived a lie,
Can I break them, escape and fly?
I do not know why I bring these thoughts into readable form, maybe because I myself am uncertain of them. Ideas run freely through my mind, confusing and changing, shattering and rebuilding themselves. It could be that in writing down my thoughts, I murder them.
I have been shaping history and ideas. I have taken a mantle. We broke the dragon. What does this make of me? What does this tell me? I've at the same time been a part of the prison wall and been shown that it can be overcome. Can it be that being part of the wall - for however brief that time was - can show me its weakest spot?
That which I was told to believe all my life is wavering now. I cannot comfort myself with the knowledge of the safety of my own confines anymore. I seem to have grown out of the cradle, yet it still has a hold on me. I feel like a child who has always been sleeping in the bed of its parents, sheltered and protected between them. The presence of the parents held the nightmares at bay and the dreams were pleasant. Alas, the time has come that I have to sleep in my own bed, away from my parents. I long for my liberty, but the liberty has its price, for my dreams are no longer sheltered. Nightmares of new ideas haunt me, the fear of the unknown. This is what seems to drive me back into the cradle, what seduces me to stay in my little confines. Am I able to pay the price? I can right now feel the ties again, that which I have subdued for a long time has returned to conscious thought. I see two paths that will soon open for me, one promising shelter, one promising nothing but uncertainty. Which one will I take? Do I have the courage to break all the bridges that still hold me in my parents' cradle? Do I really wish to grow out of this cradle, even if I know it's become too small for me? Do I wish myself to shrink back to fit into it once more?
One bridge I have broken some months ago, I can freely speak of my past without drowning myself in sorrow. I have made my peace with her. Another bridge is waiting to be broken. Can I visit my cradle one last time and more importantly, which decision do I make?
The irony in mantling Julianos, god of knowledge, and still having more questions than answers almost makes me laugh. But then, if everything is answered would I have the need to continue my scholarship, that which drives me forward? What man would I be without curiosity and wonder at the new things I see? I seem to exist in contradiction and uncertainty and this is what brings me back to my first question.
Who am I?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nalion left the parchment on the table, blew out the candle and returned to his chamber.

Ald Raathim: Study
When the summons to the study came, he was present. His equiment and staff leaned on the wall beside him. The Breton mage was clad in a hooded common robe of blue colour, the Dagger of Senses hanging on a belt at his side. Nalion himself stood at his usual place near a wall and listened to Loranna's instructions.
"We'll find that coven, Greir." He looked to the people who were gathered in the study. "Better we don't speak a word about what has happened on Hogithum. Don't mention that we've recently visited Morrowind either. We don't want to raise the suspicion of the officials there." He smiled at the party, then looked back at Loranna. "Pretty hairdo! Let's go!"

Posted by: Nordic_bandit Mar 31 2005, 05:03 PM

"I shall go." Thundered Roggar. He checked his pack again and then checked all the little pouches on him. Good. He had everything. "Let's go." The black cloak didn't contrast much with his skin, since he had lived outside for all of his life, his skin had tanned to a crisp light brown. And his hands could also use Scimitar's, which is what he would use now. He put Ravenfire on his back, and then Ironwall over it. He pulled the cloak out and put it over the axe and the shield.

Slyvos was in the room, somewhere in the corner. He was still a bit uneasy around groups.

'I'll go... I got nothing else to do anyway now. Just gotta get a few things.... like a robe... stupid pants.'

Several hours after the meeting, Tohe and Eya found themselves again out in the woods of Ald Raathim. It was going to be a full moon again, and the sun was setting. Afterall, it had been close to a Full moon on the night of the Celebration of the victory after Hogithum.

However, this time there was a definate target for the full moon hunt. The Head huntsman of those Hunters who worshiped Hircine, the ones who had saved Tohe in exchange for Lycanthropy, had finally shown up again, and managed to kill a few civillians from Ald Raathim. It was time to teach him the price of power, and why such power was not to be given as if it were currency.

They approached the former Hunter camp. It was a wreck, obviously it had been decimated by its own lycanthropic leader. Bodies lay, torn by tooth and claw, tents lay in heaps, blood stained the grass, dirt, and bushes. One tent stil stood, and as if sensing the approaching Breton and Nord, a Dunmer male emerged from the tent, clad in naught but a loincloth.

"I see you've returned, but is it to join in the grand hunt? Or would you be here to hunt me?" The Dunmer asked.

"I came to correct a mistake, you were not prepared, nor suited for ths burden," Tohe said.

The Dunmer smirked. "Try if you must, but you will not win, even with numbers."

The Sun had set, and the Full moon rose into the sky, all three changed, becoming a beast stuck between man and wolf. One made for hunting, one skilled at what it was made for. When it ended, a Brown and heavily scarred Werewolf, a White one with mottled black, and a Ashen Werewolf all stood. White and Brown opposing the one of Ash.

The battle began, the Ashen one rushing towards the others in a four legged run. Tohe, the scarred brown one, leapt above the attack, while Eya held her ground batted the Ashen Werewolf to the ground as he leapt for a strike to the throat. He hit the ground hard, rolling and rising just in time to dodge Tohe's strike. He struck back, leaving four lines of crimson across Tohe's Chest and sending the young Werewolf stumbling back.

Eya, using the former Dunmer's strike for cover, had leapt behind him. She ripped into his back, making him turn and respond in kind. Both retreated from each other, and then leapt at another, landing with new wounds, and having dealt another wound to their opponent.

The battle continued like this for nearly a minute, Werewolf battles, like a battle between normal wolves, were quick and brutual. Werewolves didn't have armor, every strike could kill or disable, there was little room for error, every attack had to be dodged to ensure victory. Which is why a Werewolf who has been one for a long time should be approached with extreme caution. One who could survive such harsh battles wasn't a push over.

Eya managed to get a grip on the Lupine Hunter's throat, and held him in the air with a iron grip. The Werewolf struggled, trying to break free, Eya clenched her grip into a fist, her claws tearing through the jugular vein of the Hunter's throat, and tossed the dying 'wolf to the side.

He convulsed on the ground for a few moments before breathing his last and going limp. The hunt was over, and the prey defeated.

Posted by: Arynel Apr 2 2005, 07:06 AM

Arynel made his way silently into the library at Ald Raathim. The Breton gathered pen and inkwell and parchment, and began to write. After he had finished, he silently left the library, leaving the parchment out on the table.

Origin myths are nothing more than the reemergence of the ego flux, I am the world wound on a spool, though the string is dead, meaning harmless, meaning the striking is past, and in my hands, and is my hands. The divine ordinance is merely a spatial trajectory not unlike the crux association of labor countenance, and the trembling form becomes solid as stone, and the hammer sounds the rightmost vibrations. The subject of divine lineages is merely a lesson of self displacement, an act to justify the preemptive notion of colloquial necessity, which is realized in the songs of birds and laments of the monastic. Exploration in all its forms becomes a reconnaissance of the first thought, forgotten and cast aside like so many things of childhood, and likewise finds itself manifest in all modes of apparent disarray. The principle of uncertainty is the keystone of the inconsequential, and so the origin of the word becomes obsolete, and the word written takes hold the writer and is no longer restricted to the page.

Posted by: Nordic_bandit Apr 2 2005, 07:22 AM

In the Study of Ald Raathim, another figure watched the proceedings. He was invisible though, as he wore a ring, rightfully named the Chameleon Ring, as it made him blend into his surroundings fully. He was a rare type of person. An Assassain-thief. Although, the Assassain-thief part of him, was like breakfast, a constant of everyday and common, compared to his race. He was the result of a Dunmer woman's prostitution with an Altmer. This figure had a name, although it was only known to his associate in the Legion, and his fellow Guild members. It was Tos'un. His last name, no one knew, not even him. He was a well-kept secret though. And his work was with such precision, that it took a magnification lens to see where he had slashed his victim. It was usually a 'T' over the heart, and the heart lay on top of the victim's body. His clothing was all black, and only his Ruby red eyes were visible. He had black cloth armor, and gloves. His weapons were varied, some being Arrows, Darts, Throwing Knives, and Throwing Stars, to Silver Tanto's and Silver Wakizashi's. He had perfected all of these weapons when he had been left to survive on his own out in the wilds of the Grazelands at the age of 6. Since his birth, he had been extremely tall, taller than all of the other 6, 7, and 8 year olds. If his weapons weren't visible, then you must still watch out, for not only had he perfected his weapons, he had perfected Martial Arts, and could kill a man with one hit. He had heard of everything that had gone on with this party, and he decided that maybe Daggerfall had some good mansions to raid, so he waited for the first of these people to leave. Many more dark secrets lye in the head of this man, and some of them would be learned soon enough.

Loranna/Grier leads the party to the Mage's Guild, where they transport to the city of Evermore ...

"All right; I'm going to go hire the carriages," Loranna says, as they walk out of the guild. "This'll take an hour or so; meet me by the city gates by that time."

She frowns slightly, adding " ... Try not to get too involved; we'll be leaving shortly. We can sight-see on the way back ..."

OOC: Just getting the ball rolling a bit; feel free to have your characters do a little minor activity in Evermore. Tomorrow hopefully we'll get this plot fully moving.

Thanks again to Allie for providing us with a portrait of 'Grier': http://www.geocities.com/lorannapyrel/loranna_norm_redhead.jpg

By this time of course, tohe's transformation had worn off. Mages tended to have adverse reactions to Werewolves being hauled into their halls. Reichi wandered out of the Evermore Mages' Guild. He had a new set of armor, Netch Leather, once again. maybe there was something better in High Rock that didn't cost a lot, unlike Glass.

"Grah.."

Evermore

Finding a carriage was the easy part; explaining to the carriage rider where she wanted to go, Loranna discovered, was a little harder ...

"Veremeir Wastes?" the carriage driver asks, looking at Loranna/Grier and frowning. "Don't think there's any such place."

"Er, I checked on a map," Loranna says, frowning herself. "It was in Menevia, around Windkeep and Norvulk Hills ..."

"Oh, down there?" the carriage keeper asks. "Why not go to Menevia instead?"

"We are going to Menevia," Loranna says, feeling faintly frustrated.

"No, Menevia - the city, Menevia. Ain't ye ever been to High Rock, girl?" the carriage rider says, grinning.

"Well ... only once or twice ..." Loranna admits, her teeth clenching. The driver laughs.

"Heh, well, there's Menevia the city and it's still there, unlike that other place you were talking about," he says, shaking his head. "Heard it got hit by them blue-eyed devils a couple months back but it ought to still be there. That'll be, lesse; how many you say were in yer party again?"

I need to buy us some newer maps, Loranna thinks to herself as she arranges passage for her party to Menevia - the city, and the providence.

===

Some Time Later ...

"Menevia; everybody off!" the carriage driver announces jovially.

Menevia: Tris

"I see you made it here," Tris said, with a slightly sardonic smile and bow, meeting them at the carriage house.

"I've been waiting for you at the tavern attached to the carriage house, the Black Huntsman. It's small but the food's not bad."

He led the way. In the common room were several milkmaids having a conversation over ale, a well dressed local nobleman, and a jester practicing his act for no one's amusement but his own.

Loranna/Grier glowers at Tris for a few seconds, but she starts chuckling and shaking her head, unable to keep a mean look on her face.

"Well, it was a useful lesson in cartography," she says. "Some good food sounds like a welcome thing now though, and some mead to whet the throat too."

"You look like someone, but I can't think who," he said. "Wasn't your old dad a redhead? The food's not that good, I was planning on heading off to the local temple of Dibella. I don't know any of the people here, but they have to feed me, I'm an Initiate. And I bet the beds don't have fleas."

The jester carefully removed a handkerchief from his colorful britches, wiped the fruit from his face, straightened his hat, and approached Tohe, fists cleched as tightly as his mouth.

He planted his feet firmly and said, "I say there, Sir, do you have some problem with my act?" He spoke in a thick, upper-class accent. Some Temples of Dibella, as any educated person knew, were devoted to women; some to artists and aesthetics; and some to... erotic instruction.

It wasn't hard to guess which category this particular temple fell under.

The first clue was the giggling of young farmgirls who watched them pass. The second clue was the stark naked priestess who greeted them in the vestibule. She was a Breton, petite but luscious, with full, curly blonde hair down to her...

"May I take your clothes, sir?" she asked Tris brightly, and Tris leaned close to whisper something in her ear, which caused her to curtsey - an exercise in aesthetics surely - and gesture for him to enter the sanctum.

"Are you interested in joining the cult of Dibella, for a small donation?" she asked the other party members, smiling.

Loranna finds herself wondering if that swishing sound she hears is her imagination or if someone - or several someones - were finding themselves feeling a bit frisky now. She herself was suitably impressed; discounting Allie who was in a class all her own, this was one of the more lovely women she had seen in quite some time.

"... Actually I would be interested in learning more about the cult, if I may," she says, smiling to the young naked woman. "I've been thinking of joining for some time now ..."

I wonder if I can convince this woman to help me sandwich Slyvos like Allie and I did to Jazbet later, Loranna ponders. ... I was rather hoping Allie and I could do that one more time at least; the look on your face was so sweet love we had to do it again ...

Blinking, Loranna realizes she just spent several seconds lost in her own thoughts; she blushes a bit.

Ald-Raathim...

Breaking the tranquil silence of the Ald Raathim evening, a scream breaks out in a local inn. Seconds later the front door of the inn spits out a tall, ebony, skinned Bosmer with emerald eyes, running as fast as storm wind, followed by a rather short, cloaked figure desperately trying to keep up with the former. Lastly bursting out of the inn in a full sprint, knocking the door off its hinges, and flinging it down the street is an Ogrim, moving very agilely for a thing its size. The elf leads the pack while the runt and the Ogrim trail in the back, being followed by twelve angry guards, all with sharp pointy objects.

“You bloody wanker!” The ebony elf yells out in a strong mixed accent, before turning to look at the Ogrim. “Little John, what did I tell ya’ bout following us into town?”

The running Ogrim lets out a playful snort, and shrugs its bulging shoulders.

“Remind me ta’ kick ya’ in your wellies later. Right now, we hav’ta kick rocks and split this jolly.”

The short runt lets out a huffed comment. “How do I let you two morons get me into situations like this?” The runt lets out an arrogant sigh. “And to think I used to be one of the best warlocks on Tamriel.”

“Now ain’t the best time for ya’ raggin, mate.” The ebony elf expels.

“Guess it’s up to me to save us... like always.” The short figure says, before speeding up and taking the lead, turning towards the mage’s guild. “Follow, me.”

They all file into the unsuspecting guild, with the Orgim trailing. The giant, green creature repeats his door disappearing trick and shatters it to splinters while following the others...

(Ald Raathim:)

There was a loud rap at the door, and without waiting for an answer, a scruffy Nord burst in. Aricyn was just drying the bathwater from his back.

"Chief! There's an ogrim in the village!"

Tying the towel tightly around his waste, Aricyn grabbed his greatsword and sprinted after the Nord, the old wolf following behind.

"It's a very small donation," the girl said, with her best company smile. "And we've a very poor church, we do the best we can with the money we have, but you see the floor cushions get terribly worn..."

"The High Priestess?" Tris asked gently, and the girl cut her sales pitch off to say, "Yes, brother. Through the santum and in the offices beyond."

He led the way into the sanctum, which was where worship of Dibella was conducted by means of what less sacred institutions called the oldest profession. Here there were a statue of Dibella, naked, sprawling, leaving little to the imagination; a pile of discarded clothing; two women, and two men. The two men, both naked, were a strikingly handsome young dark-haired Breton and a muscular, heavily scarred Nord. The first woman was another naked Breton, with pleasantly peach hued skin, and the second woman was a Redguard, notable for being clothed.

"Donations first, and you'll be polite, this is a house of worship," the Redguard woman said.

"Pleased to meet you," Tris said. "Tris Gaerington, my initiation was in Cyrodiil. You're the High Priestess?"

"Oh!" the Redguard woman said in some confusion. "No donation, of course, brother. I'm sorry I was abrupt, it's..."

"Very good, Sir. At least you aren't a coward as well as a ruffian. Sundown it is. The marketplace court, as I said. Oh, and I do hope you can afford an appropriate weapon for yourself. It would be such a pity if you arrived with only a basket of fruit.

"Good day, Sir!"

With that, the jester left the tavern, his belled hat swaying wildly and his belled feet jingling.

The Redguard woman smiled broadly. She had a very sweet face, and green eyes... probably half-Breton.

"It's not often we get a Khajiit here. The girls will be disappointed if you keep to yourselves. But if you want to be exclusive, we can set you up with an instructor."

She led them down the hall, to yet another series of rooms. These were obviously private rooms, for specialists. The scenes taking places as they passed were interesting, to say the least. But the last room was their destination. There a brown-haired, mature woman with deep brown eyes waited. She was fully dressed, in very feminine clothing, lace and frills. Her voice was soothing as honey.

"Vannyra Wooding," she said, offering her hand first to Loranna, then Slyvos. "Are you newlyweds?"

Ald-Raathim, mage’s guild...

Today was a slow day so Lanie Maurard, Altmer guild teleporter, was alone in the guild except for the guild master, Relie, upstairs taking a nap. Lanie had been a mage for years and thought she had seen everything. Everyone from necromancers to vampires, had come and gone by her, and her magicka. She despised them all, as all Altmer despise most everything. She felt all races should only mingle with their own kind. She would slit the throat of a mixed race baby before she would save one with a simple glance. Little did she know she was going to help the kinds of people she hated escape punishment.

“I’ll get you going right away.” Lanie says to a fellow Altmer waiting for her to simply wave her hands and send him to his destination.

Lanie started the spell...

Suddenly a large crash erupts from the front of the guild, Lanie looks and sees a tall Bosmer, the shortest figure she’s ever seen wearing a cloak, and a Ogrim... a Ogrim? She thought she was losing her mind. She watches as the odd group of figures charges right at her. Carelessly she motions towards the intruders and casts the first spell she can think of. In a flash of purple light, the three disappear.

Reichi wandered off, of course, he was talented at doing that. He wandered through the House, finding the house very interesting. Dibella's houses didn't leave much to the imagination. Not at all. However, he did managed to find a very comely half-Dunmer girl. He only realized her mixed heritage because of her a firey red eyes. Her skin tone was relatively breton.

The two departed to a empty room, the crossbreed saying something about Reichi's rather Wolfish eyes, and how she liked Wolves. Reichi grinned.

(Ald Raathim, Mage's Guild:)

"So let me get this straight..." Aricyn said to the guild guide. "A Bosmer, an Ogrim, and... a midget... burst in here, and you teleported them to Highrock?"

The woman slowly nodded her head. Aricyn thought that the whole ordeal must've been quite traumatizing to her, because she wore a look of utter, speechless shock.

"Chief!" said an armored Nord, noisily jogging up to Aricyn, waving some piece of cloth. "Chief, you lost your towel back there."

Nalion had parted with the company for a short time after they had arrived at the inn. He wanted to make a few inquiries, about the current situation in Menevia, the condition of the roads and the current situation in the Wrothgarian Mountain region and Shornhelm.
After he had a sufficient grasp of the local standings, he headed over to the Dibellan temple, where he had agreed to meet the party after he was done. His robe flapped lightly in the a small breeze as he approached the temple and entered.

The naked girl greeted Nalion. "Well met, stranger! There are a lot of strangers here tonight. Are you looking for the others? Would you like to donate to the temple?"

She bobbed her head when she talked, making other parts of her bounce too. The sight was very distracting, for anyone not accustomed to temples of Dibella.

The expression on Nalions face was worth to be put on a statue. The mixture of his eyebrow rising, staring at the moving parts of the girl and an open mouth clearly showed that Dibellan worship practices weren't frequent topics in the dusty and dry books he usually read. After a moment, the mage had regained his composure and was able to smile at the priestess.
"Yes, uhm, I am looking for the others. I would be .. proud to ... support this temple of beauty."
He fingered with his purse and coins changed its owner. "Would you lead me to them, my lady?"

"I'm sorry, I have to watch the front door," the girl said, with a bright and genuine smile. Perhaps she was imagining the renovations to the fusty old temple that could be made with Nalion's money, but her smile indicated a more gifted imagination.

She gestured with her arm. "Through here, sir. I believe the brother went through to talk to the High Priestess, in the back room."

Nalion was shown into the room of the temple prostitutes. The others, however, had all sought private audiences, so he found himself with the Redguard woman, the naked blond woman, and the two men.

The Redguard woman smiled. "See anything to your liking?"

Logic, wisdom and the scholarly approach on things seemed to have decided to stay outside of the temple, Nalion found that very logical and wise. He was able to bring a small smile to his face.
"To my liking?" The mages gaze rested on the Redguard woman. "Oh yes, I do think so."
Scholarly approach seemed to be bored with wisdom and logic and decided to enter the temple through the back door...
"May I ask for your name, my lady? I am called Nalion." The mages smile broadened.

Outside of Menevia...

Instant travel was never easy. It took some time getting used to before it became just like walking or breathing. The wood colored Bosmer knew this all to well, as he hunched over and showed everyone his breakfast in liquid form.

The Ogrim lets out a short snort.

“I don’t know where we are. Any place is better then where we came from.” The short figure says. “We seem to be outside of a city, which means I can finally take this blasted hood off.”

The figure's hood is removed and the face of a Scamp is lightened by the darkening Meneniva sunlight. The Scamp takes in a deep breath of air. “Outstanding.”

The ebony elf stands up wiping his mouth. “Well what’re we standing around chompin’ the bit for? Let’s git on wif’ it.”

“So young and so naive.” The Scamp says under his breath. “My nerves are shot for today, good boy.” The Scamp speaks with the condescension of an Altmer. “Little John, can’t get into the city with us and I don’t feel like wearing this hood all day, again. You go in, check the place out, find out where we are, and we’ll stay outside of the city until nightfall.”

“Don’t flap ya’ laughing gear at me like I’m sum sort of kiddie, Fiiramo.”

“But you are a child. No more then a teenager in Bosmer years.” Fiiramo sighs his condescending sigh. “Be a good lad and go into town, please.” Fiiramo watches the Bosmer defiantly walk off, before he adds. “And don’t get into trouble.”

Little John croaks out a long guttural noise that sounds very vulgar.

“Tell that to ya’ Mamie.” The Bosmer says over his shoulder.

A deep, breast roar, similar to a laugh echos outside of Menevia.

The Redguard woman looked surprised, then smiled.

"Well, you do have good taste. Carolyra Coppersmith, of the Dunwharf Coppersmith family. My sisters and I are all initiates of Dibella. Have you been to a Temple before?"

"To a Dibellan temple, no. My attention was occupied with different matters most of the time. I am realizing though what I may have missed."
The broad smile on the mages face changed to an easier, more relaxed smile and his mimic followed. "I would like to hear about this temple, though. Is there a place where we can sit and talk? I hear my friends have retired to private quarters?"

"Shy, are you?" Carolyra said, laughing a warm, pleasant laugh. "You know, all things are beautiful when offered to the goddess. We offer a wide selection of potions to help you shake off any inappropriate modesty."

Slyvos was a bit... confused about this whole thing. Loranna's willingness to hug, kiss, and caress him in front of all these naked women was both disturbing, and yet somewhat arousing. He just kept his mouth shut and smiled a bit. While he looked kinda riled up and disturbed, his tail was swaying back and forth by now.

Nalion joined in Carolyra's laughter, shyly of course. The mage felt more and more relaxed. She seemed pleasant and kind...
"All things are beautiful? Yes, they are."
"And it is very good to still have beauty in this form."
"So then, if you think we should get rid of something inappropriate here, I should agree. I do not wish to offend a goddess in her own temple."
