Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ Loranna's RP: Blue Dawn
Posted by: Allerleirauh Jan 28 2005, 01:39 PM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel
#Loranna_RP. If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and
discuss it. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whos character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using
this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://sekkairc.freewebpage.org/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and
afterwards they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

(A number of people from Jazbet's castle were last seen raiding
an Azurite-held village and plundering their storehouse of food. They were
accompanied by a young man from the village who, along with his family and
neighbors, was forced to flee to Jazbet's estate when his village Hetman sided
with local bandits.)
"Well," said the local mer when the barn doors were thrown open,
"it'll certainly be nice to eat this ourselves instead of letting those
fetchers have it all."
He cheerfully helped everyone load up with as many bags of grain and produce as
they could possibly carry and still wiggle their fingers to cast recall, and
then did the same himself.
With a half-dozen flashes of magical light, the barn was empty, and the raiding
party returned home.

The Breton chuckled to himself, and returned his attention to tracing the
woodgrain of the table.

ooc summaries:
Tris, having returned from the raid, is hanging out and celebrating his success
in Ald Raathim. He has lingering doubts about his own part in the raid, however
- he's aware that he wanted to rush in blindly, and that the situation could
have turned nasty in an instant.
Doll is still in the library, working on scrolls for the troops.
Allerleirauh, after talking with Jazbet, has an urgent matter to discuss with
Arynel. She went into town with Jazbet.
Dragon, still at Solunastra in Daggerfall, announced his intention of doing
some adventuring to obtain money and weapons for the group.
Skein is at Solunastra in Daggerfall.
Mirea has been following Queen Elysana's progress as best she could, while
remaining on land. Now that Elysana has put out for a sea voyage, she'll have
to try something else.
Ald Raathim: Tris
Tris found that having suggested the raid made him a leader of sorts in the
eyes of Jazbet's men. It was an uncomfortable position for him - he knew from
experience that he was a bad leader, more interested in staying friends with
everyone than in making sure people did what needed to be done. He intended to
make it clear, as quickly as possible, that he wasn't someone to look to for
guidance.
At this very moment three of Jazbet's guards - all young, all male, people he
had shared a song with the night before - were approaching him to get his
opinion on something.
"One of the patrols just came back with this," one of the youths
said, pulling back the edge of a blanket to show him a little live creature,
mewling helplessly. Tris had never seen a Dunmer baby; this one must have been
newly born, he hadn't even been washed properly. They were smaller than human
babies. "Patrol found a dead woman beside the path. She must have fled her
home when it was near her time, and the pains overtook her on the road. With no
one to help her, she died there."
Tris realized at once that it wasn't his authority being sought, but his
malleability. No one else wanted to deal with this situation.
"Why bother me?" Tris said. "Ask around and find a Dunmer woman
who can nurse him."
He got no answer as such; instead he was met with a fog of Dunmer vagueness,
taboos, customs, and discussions of polite society. Apparently it was
unthinkable for a man to speak of caring for a baby to a woman who wasn't his
wife. And a son who killed his mother was regarded as unlucky. The refusal to
do anything was polite, but absolute.
Tris sucked his breath through his teeth and surveyed the crowd of weary,
disheveled refugees passing between the tents.
"See here," he said, to a stout Dunmer farmer with a young son in his
arms. "Your little one there - is he weaned yet?"
"Little ones of your own, eh?" the farmer said. "You'd best be
letting your wife make the decisions about that sort of thing and not trying to
put your hand in, if you want to stay married."
"My wife's the shyest woman in the world," Tris said, laughing.
"So shy in fact that I've never laid eyes on her. It's for another reason
that I ask."
The farmer raised his eyebrows, and so Tris hastily explained the situation.
"Not my problem," the farmer said. "Mother dead, where was his
father then? I'll not have my son nursed alongside the son of an Azurite."
"Look, his eyes aren't blue," Tris said. In fact the infant's eyes
were a sort of blackish purple; he assumed all Dunmer were born so, the red
color developing over time.
The farmer's wife returned from the line of people receiving rations of food
and drink, carrying several parcels. "Beram, shame on you," she said.
"Lady Almalexia's mercy, how soon we forget! Here I am eating Lord
Jazbet's food and sheltering under his roof after we fought over boundary
markers just last season, and you refusing such a simple kindness. Of course
I'll take him."

Ald Raathim: Allerleirauh
"There you are," Allerleirauh said, sitting down without preamble.
"We need to talk. Loranna spoke with you about the Azurite child I brought
back. Jazbet sees nothing but evil in her future, and death for many. Except along
one path. He suggested that you and I take the child to raise."

Summary
Night-Scar lay in bed at Ald Raathim. He urgently wished to get to the field of
battle against the Azurites - but his leg would not allow him to. The healer
had told him that if he didn't stay off it for a whole week, the magic would
likely not complete the healing. His had been a pretty bad wound, and it would
take time before he would be fully healed.

The Breton looked up at Allerleirauh.
"Raise the child, yes I think that would be right." Arynel said.
"But by me? No, that would not due at all, I know little of Dunmer customs
and such, and know even less about young children, I'm sure we can find someone
more capable than I."

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna spent the night with Jazbet, and in the morning was left a note, which
caused her to discover that she had been relying on Azura even more than she
realized, for she could only read now with great difficulty.
A little later, she learned about the coming refugees and went into town to
spread the news, then headed back to Jazbet's library, intending to start
teachng herself to read again.
===
It was frustrating, staring at the titles of the various volumes and only being
able to puzzle one out of five after long moments. It grew even more
frustrating when she found a couple of volumes that she knew she had read
before, only to open said books and stare at the pages, unable to make her
memory of the words match up with the markings on the page.
She looked at Jazbet's note several times, hoping to use it as a guide; she had
puzzled that note out already and figured if she could match the words on it to
words on other books, she could make some progress. Sitting down at a table
with three or four books opened around her, she works on trying to re-recognize
the words ...

"It's you who were the key to her future," Allerleirauh said.
"Before I mentioned you, Jazbet was certain all would turn out badly, and
planned to kill her. If any of the normal, sensible things are done - give her
to a Dunmer family to adopt, raise her himself - she'll grow up to kill many.
But he says she has great potential for good as well as evil."

Teleran went on a raid into an Azurite controlled town for food
with Tris and Dante, among others. Once he got back he delivered the food he
had and then went to the bar for a quick drink. He is now dozing in the corner.

I'm afraid my lifestyle does not set well with the needs of a child; I have no
home, and no immediate source of income. I have neither the social outlook or
financial ability required to raise a child."

Jazbet's Castle: Doll
At the same table, Doll sat entranced, her pen dancing over the sheets of
parchment. She was pleased with her progress. She had invented a spell that
could be seen and heard for miles, one that was almost effortless to inscribe
and very distinctive in its colors. She had been thinking of New Life
celebrations in the Capital city, battlemages sending up thousands of beautiful
shimmering lights, when she made it.
She paused, and pressed the backs of her hands against her eyes, then noticed
Loranna.
"What are you doing?" Doll asked. "Stronach's so boring, and so
out of date. Are you looking for something in particular?"

you want her life spared. Children have more than one need. Jazbet's vision
tells him that this one's needs will best be served by the two of us, our
different abilities and outlooks working together. She is no less safe with you
than anywhere else in the world, while Azurites are hunted and despised."
She had hesitated to mention herself in the context of the child, lest he think
she was trying to bind him again. She wasn't. Perhaps Jazbet had thought of it
- he was a clever fellow, and a romantic. But in her mind, the welfare of the
little girl and romance were very separate things.

She bent down to sort through her belongings, then set a vial firmly on the

increase your intelligence while you study. When the potion fades, you will no

She smiled sweetly.

" ... I am definitely going to study alchemy once I get this little reading

says, opening the vial.
Pausing for a second, she asks " ... Anything I should know about suddenly

It was a partial victory, but not good enough. Allerleirauh felt that it would

"Arynel," she said softly, casting about for anything that would

his children all have names. Even Sen-Yedda, who was conceived when he was far
from here - he didn't leave her to face her life without a name. Would you have
her be - an inconvenience, an afterthought? Our children deserve more, surely,

Allerleirauh was silent, thinking about resources. She had no doubt of her
abilities to provide for a child physically. But it was true that she also had
very little to give. She thought of her own childhood - the best father in the
world, when she saw him, which was rarely; her mother dead, a barely remembered
perfume and a scattering of song. Forced attendence at ballrooms, escape to
stables, not calling him 'father' in public. Being a 'ward' and not a daughter.
And then even the little bit she thought she knew about herself and her own
story shattered at a single blow.
And what had Arynel's childhood been like? A Mages' Guild in High Rock
somewhere. Surely the most sterile and uncaring of all possible homes.
"But you have the world," she said suddenly. "Isn't that exactly
what you have? Why put limits on yourself now, you who are always limitless?
Give her the world, like a pomegrate ready to be bitten."
She smiled at him. "I will tell Jazbet - she lives."

Deciding to make the most use of the time she has under the potion's effects,

couple more books with more promising-sounding titles. She can talk to Doll

Summary:
Elysana, the Queen of Wayrest, is on a ship skirting the sea on the northern

Bosriel, the Void Vampire, is in Ebonheart.
Jazbet, the Khajiit knight of House Dres, is in Ald Saathim, trying to quell
fights that have broken out between his people and the refugees from the
neighboring domains. He has had a lot to deal with: the refugee situation; an
Azurite girl who is currently sleeping under guard, her fate uncertain;
organizing the defence of his own domain; learning about the world of the Void
from Allerleirauh; and, yet, his mood is bright. Perhaps it’s the sex.

Arynel looks up from the table.
"If I give it away," the Breton said to Allerleirauh, "It will
no longer be mine."
"A moment ago you said you'd give it, if it were yours to give,"
Allerleirauh said. "Have you changed your mind?
"You can't lose such a thing - this is one of those infinities, like the
ones we see in the sky, that only look like little balls because of our poor
sad brains. You can give something away and still have it, when it's the world.
And when she has it, it will be her world."
Besides, she thought, but did not say, smiling at him - this was dangerous
ground - you can borrow my world, whenever you feel the need.
"These things will sort themselves out as we do them," she said.
"I'm going to find Jazbet, lest I be too late. He says if we delay, the
child will be damaged by being kept under sleep spells so long. Will you
come?"

Jazbet found dealing with the fights curiously easier than he thought it would
be. When he had his eyes, he would look rather than listen, and listening was
what these situations called for. The guards were keeping some order, but there
were precious few of them, and they were needed at the borders. It was
essential that the people understood that for all their differences, they had
much in common. At a deep level, they understood this.
As he spoke to them, Kallen approached. “Serjo, Jaster has seen to it that the
guards are armed. We have weapons enough to give to the people.”
“I’ve talked to a number of our citizens and our new friends, who should be
deputized to join the guards,” said Jazbet, and he gave their names to his
seneschal. “Give the weapons to them first. They are level-headed and will keep
order, as well as protect us from any invaders.”
That accomplished, Jazbet went into the crowded tavern. His throat was dry.

Loranna lost track of time, engrossed as she is in her studies. Doll's
assertation about learning by doing proved accurate, though the few times
Loranna found herself failing to figure somethnig out weren't all that bad -
she just used them as incentive to do better, and with enough success under her
belt, she was able to draw some useful knowledge even out of failure.
Eventually, though, the potion wore off, and Loranna could feel her cognitive
abilities shrink back - though, like Doll predicted, the words she had mastered
remained inteligable to her eyes. Loranna picked up a book she hadn't touched
yet and read through the first few pages; there were words she did not yet
understand that confounded her there, but overall she at least understood the
gist of the words.
Loranna smiled, and looked over to thank Doll, but the girl was still quite
busy. Taking a small piece of parchment, Loranna scratched out a note reading Thank
you - L, which she leaves on the table for Doll to find. It was a good time
to take a break, and see how things were doing; Loranna headed out to town.
Ald Raathim
The village was fairly bustling as Loranna enters; there seemed to be some
activiity and she notices a few people walking around with rather nice weaponry
that she didn't recall seeing before. Allie must have returned with the weapons
she had promised.
The tavern was as good a place as any to look for people, not to mention a
drink; all her studying had left Loranna feeling a bit parched. She heads into
the tavern and looks around. Allie's voice catches her attention and she starts
heading over to her and Jazbet.
"Hi," Loranna says, nodding to Allie and Arynel. " ... Oh; you
already figured out a plan, then?"

Hearing Jazbet laugh with such warmth brings a smile to Loranna's face; the
roar of the crowd and the influx of drinks makes her reflect for a moment on
how funny it feels now, to be both at home in a tavern setting and yet not
quite feel part of the crowd. Must have been all the reading she did.
Accepting a mug of mead, Loranna says to Jazbet "To your continued good
humor, dear," and whets her throat.

A small boat drfted into the port and docked, three robed people, a nord, a
breton child, and a Redguard exited the beaten craft and paid for docking, then
one offered to sell the ship and it's supplies, they almost certainally
wouldn't need it again.
Eventually a price was agreed upon and the three set off into Ald Raathim, upon
hearing rumors of Azurites and the like.

Every road in Jazbet's domain was now lined with tents. It was
impossible to say how many refugees there were, but the guards had kept a list
of names to try to have some degree of organization to the chaos.
The formerly quiet little domain was very loud, and then it began to become
still, quite suddenly. People were whispering and pointing down the road.

Aricyn stepped out of the castle's front door and stretched. It
was starting to feel like a classroom in there. All of the book-keeping and the
scroll-scribing. He needed some fresh air, and a drink. The tavern in the village
would be nice.
He went to the stables and saddled the only horse there. The shaggy ponies he
was used to back home weren't kept in stalls, and would simply come when you
whistled, but still, Kynidius, the sleek, brindled Highrock courser, was a fine
animal. He patted his flank and set off for the village.
Aricyn had been told about the refugees, and it certainly looked like Jazbet's
small demesne was being strained to make room for them all. Tents lined the
road near the town, and the place was crowded like it was a festival.
He rode on to the tavern, the old wolf loping along beside.
By the looks on the people's faces, you'd think they'd never seen a Nord

Aricyn, from atop his tall mount, started eying the people suspiciosly. He
caught a few of their words, but he couldn't understand what, exactly, they were
saying.
He waved at one young woman who threw him a flower, and tried to smile, but his
brow was furrowed in confusion.
"Grrnf," said the old wolf at his side, and Aricyn listened.
He spurred his horse to a trot and made for the tavern.

The town square in front of the tavern was where the refugee camp was most
chaotic. Still, even here, the noise died down to whispers, and when Aricyn
came around the bend, entering the town, they parted like a wave to give him
room.
People came out of their tents and houses to point and whisper and wave.
Word reached the people in the tavern.
'He's coming!'
People crowded to the door to see.

Obviously they were just addled.
He started to swing from his saddle, and an older Dunmer man ran and dropped to
all fours beneath his stirrup.
Addled.
Aricyn swung himself over the other side to the ground. He was starting to be

He waved his hands at the crowd in front of the tavern door, and they parted

Aricyn was still looming over Arynel, and although his ears were
ringing, he was almost certain that he hadn't heard the word 'sorry' in the
bard's last sentence.
White-knuckled, his fist did what it had wanted to do on a number of occasions,
and stepped up to introduce itself to Arynel's jaw.
Arynel fell to the tavern floor with a thud, and turned slowly his face towards
Aricyn.
The Breton tried to form words, "What... doing?"

"I should speak to them," Aricyn said quietly, possibly to himself.

"Nrr," said the old wolf at his side.

Outskirts of Blacklight
A Dunmer cloaked in a priests robe, kneels in a dimly, lit tent, alone. The air
smells of fragrants, blood and musk, as if a ritual had recently been
performed. A husky Dunmer, outfitted in Ebony armor with the build of a Nord,
quietly enters the tent, followed by a Dunmer woman looking absolutely flawless
in a red dress, except for the fact that she is missing her right arm.
Before words from the guests can be spoken, the kneeling Dunmer’s voice greets
them. “She has spoken to me. Our God, our queen. I know what we must do.”
The husky Dunmer parts his lips and a typical, gravely, Dunmer voice, mixed
with a Nord’s accent replies. “You ready?”
The kneeling Dunmer wastes no time in responding. “Since the day I was born.”
All three exit the tent and a gigantic roar, showers them as they walk into the
murky, dew filled Morrowind afternoon. They raise their hands as they look upon
a group of thousands, each with eyes as blue as the Eltheric ocean.

"And what is that?" Arynel yelled to Loranna. "What level am I

the same sky make my rainment as theirs?"
The Breton crossed his arms defiently.

Aricyn removed all traces of the frown from his face, adjusted
his cloak, and strode toward the door. His bootheels rang like thunder in the
little tavern.
He swung the doors open wide, and instantly the crowd outside grew quiet. The
Dunmer that had taken his reins came running back with the horse, and Aricyn
mounted.
He rode one small circle in the center of the street, to clear the crowd, and
then spoke...
"HEAR ME!" he said, and each word rolled across the plains and
returned from the distant mountains.
"I know why you have come..." he hesitated, "...but you are
mistaken!"
Kynidius sensed his tension, and was restless beneath him.
"You have come looking for protection from your enemies. You have come
seeking shelter from a storm under an eagle's wing!"
He waited for the thunder of his voice to subside. Surely his words could be
heard back at the castle as well as here.
"Know this!
"Protection does not come without service!
"Shelter does not come without loyalty!
"If you come to cower in the shadow of another, go pray to your ancestors
elsewhere. Here, you will serve as you are served! You will fight, and you will
be fought for!
"Fight bravely, act honorably, and the True Emperor shall see the glory of
your service!"
Kynidius reared at his last words. It was not difficult to believe, in moments
like this, that he was the Emperor. His snowy hair shone brighter than his mail
in the sun, and his words still hung on the wind.
He turned to Allerleirauh, standing near the tavern door.
"Men do not follow what they have not seen," he said to her, quietly.
Turning his horse quickly, he rode off toward the hills. The crowd parted
before him and cheered.

[Arcius Crito, Dagon Fel]
In the distant north, the isle region of Sheogorad was receiving a light rain.
Arcius’s mind wasn’t troubled by thoughts of the Tiberine, of which he knew
nothing.
The townsfolk watched each other with a sense of unease. They watched the
sailors and armed men unloading a large crate from the docked ship with a much
greater sense. The dark face of a dunmer sailor stared down the gang plank
before he was brushed aside by the long box.
It rattled down the board and landed on the dock with a thud. Captain Arcius
winced as the wooden crate threatened to either fall into the slaughterfish
infested waters or break upon on the dock. Fortune was with him for the time
being and the crate remained intact and on the dock.
“I hope you enjoy that more than we did,” a shipmate called down with
his nose curled. His voice was insinuating the improper. Crito just turned his
head and coughed. By the Ninth Divine Himself, he could smell it from where he
stood. He covered his nose and mouth with a scented cloth.
A Breton man descended down the plank after the crate. He likewise held a
similar, well used, rag to his nose. The men groaned and made faces but still
managed to heft the box to their shoulders. One turned to Crito and had the
nerve to ask of the newcomer, “Why isn’t this fool helping us?”
The fool, it turned out, had his own reply. “I rode with the damn thing nearly
all the way from Vivec,” he returned with a crooked smile. “That’s why.”

"Interesting day, eh?" Tris said. He had finally caught up to Ciel.
"Raiding expeditions, Dunmer babies, now we get to meet the Emperor
himself!"
Tris laughed, a short, barking laugh. "No thank you. I like my Emperors
with a few more centuries of Cyrodiilic polish on them."
Nothing could shake his good mood right now, though. He had important news.
"We should go on more raids," he said. "Ciel, did you see me?
She's not wrong - the General, I mean. I still remember it. It's just like a
centipede that counts his feet and forgets how to walk. I have to do it.
But I can do it, that's the important thing. Not Void walking, but the other
things I used to do. Being stronger, faster, luckier. I remember. And if that
much is still there, the rest is still there too. It's Arynel who rattled it
out of my head, talking about ideals and reality. Something that was done once
creates a path, it's easier for me the second time. Somewhere there's still an
image of me with two feet. I can touch it, I can almost taste it."
He knew he was babbling; he stopped himself. His face was flushed, as if he'd
just come in from running.

Outskirts of Blacklight
As Isaiah Nabi stands in front of his newfound family, his people, which
nonbelievers titled “Azurites” he feels a sense of power, and hope. That
Azura’s “Will” shall be done.
Isaiah raises his hands and speaks in a voice that seems to be amplified by
some mysterious power. “People, hear me! I, Isaiah Nabi, stands before you with
my fellow prophets,” A glance is thrown to the towering Dunmer to his right.
“Jeremiah Hozeh,” A subtle motion is made to the one armed female Dunmer on his
left. “and Ezeka Ro’eh. Fear not, we are the Prophets of Azura.”
Another thundering roar covers the grim, Morrowind land, as winged twilights
circle the air above.
“We must make it known that we are not the enemy.
We are only the true saviors of this land. Azura’s
word is law, and anyone who breaks it, or doesn’t accept it must
be punished. Look upon us and know, that
you have Azura’s blessing, and love.
If you work with us we will prevail and show all of
Nirn the way to enlightenment, the way to Azura’s Will.”
Isaiah throws his hands up to the heavens, as if trying to catch the sky.
“Azura’s Will be done!!”
The crowd lets out another howl as Isaiah looks to the heavens. The three
Prophets of Azura stand before the sapphire eyed crowd of thousands, looking
eerily like a mock Tribunal.

Loranna takes Sekka gently but firmly by the arm. "Here; let me introduce

you can fill us in on your travels when you've had a chance to rest."

Tris:
"Interesting day, eh?" Tris said. He had finally caught up to
Ciel. "Raiding expeditions, Dunmer babies, now we get to meet the Emperor
himself!"
Tris laughed, a short, barking laugh. "No thank you. I like my
Emperors with a few more centuries of Cyrodiilic polish on them."
Nothing could shake his good mood right now, though. He had important news.
"We should go on more raids," he said. "Ciel, did you see
me? She's not wrong - the General, I mean. I still remember it. It's just
like a centipede that counts his feet and forgets how to walk. I have to do
it. But I can do it, that's the important thing. Not Void walking, but the
other things I used to do. Being stronger, faster, luckier. I remember. And if
that much is still there, the rest is still there too. It's Arynel who rattled
it out of my head, talking about ideals and reality. Something that was done
once creates a path, it's easier for me the second time. Somewhere there's
still an image of me with two feet. I can touch it, I can almost taste
it."
He knew he was babbling; he stopped himself. His face was flushed, as if
he'd just come in from running.
[Ciel]
"Of course I saw you," Ciel said with a small smile. "As
everyone dived into the fray. Quite a handy unlock spell you have."
The knight scratched the new growth on his face.
“Stronger, faster, and luckier?” he asked. “What other aspects that can you
alter?”

"That I can do - that's it, almost. It's possible to do almost
anything. Dragon can change the course of history. Allie can change the
weather. Leseth can make himself immune to weapons. Little Tris was good at
running very very fast. Well, I can't run, but I'm still fast. I've done other
things, on occasion. Stopped everything, just to take a look around. Seen the
pathing - the fates that spread out in front of people - where a man will set
his foot next. I've seen through things, when I needed to find someone. There
are strings of power to take you across continents, and to summon weapons, and
to make solid earth as soft as air. I can't do any of that. Yet. But it's within
my grasp again."

Loranna smiles as she sees Sekka hit the hay; it was good to know that he was
still alive and seemed relatively all right. She wonders for a moment how other
people she knew that weren't around were doing - Dur'el and Kasha, in
particular.
Then, as she's leaving Sekka's room, her thoughts return to the recent scene in
the tavern. Her cheeks flush and she grimaces, feeling like an idiot.
" ... What happened? Are we all fed up with each other by now, despite
everything we've been through? Or even because of it?" she mutters under
her breath.
" ... Guess I shouldn't have said anything ... just, well ... even if he
had pushed him too far, it didn't seem right to just let it be then. But maybe
I should have let him cool off before trying to say something; I don't know him
well enough even when he's in a good mood ..."
Loranna sighs. " ... Sometimes it seems the best thing to do is to just
keep my mouth shut and not try to do anything."
Not sure what else to do right now, Loranna heads back to the library. Maybe
trying to read again would help make things clearer.

Outskirts of Blacklight
Isaiah’s speech done he retreats back to his tent, followed by his two
prophets.
Once inside Jeremiah is the first to speak. His deep Dunmer voice is laced with
a Nord’s accent. “That was foh’ging great, Isai. With speeches like that no
wonder our numbers are growing with every morn.”
A soft but firm, sultry, voice interjects. “Show some respect half-breed. Watch
your language in the presence of Isaiah.”
Jeremiah shoots a menacing look towards Ezeka. “Watch your big red, little one,
before someone swifts that pretty little chevy of yours.”
Ezeka parts her lips in a rarely seen smile. “If you didn’t speak that slave
language maybe I would know what you’re talking about. How about I show you
what a girl with one arm can do.”
Even with the tension Isaiah speaks in a lighthearted tone. “Calm, and peace,
friends. Our “Will” is not to fight each other, it is to fight our enemy.”
Isaiah’s voice becomes gravely serious. “Our queen has called to me. Did you
hear it?”
“Yes.” Ezeka and Jeremiah reply in unison, matching Isaiah’s serious tone.
“Good. Then you know that one of you must leave us, and take a small portion of
our group through Blacklight and on to a town called Ald Raathim. I shall make
my decision in the morn.” Isaiah makes a dismissing motion, and turns his back
to the two. “Leave me. Rest well my friends. We are doing good, we are showing
people the true way. With Azura on our side we shall not fail.”
Ezeka and Jeremiah put a fist to their heart, and speak in unison. “Azura’s
Will.”
Jeremiah and Ezeka leave with a bow as Isaiah kneels and begins to pray.

Outskirts of Blacklight
Isaiah kneels in his tent speaking an ancient tongue, in deep meditation.
Suddenly he throws his head back and opens his mouth in a silent scream. Isaiah
quickly begins to rise off his feet as if pulled by strings. Tears of joy begin
to fall down his face as he cracks a pained smile.
“M-My... queen.” Isaiah croaks.
Isaiah gasps deeply as his mind is flooded with hundreds of images. He sees his
wife, his kids, all the people he has killed and seen killed. Lastly he sees
Azura. No word can describe Isaiah’s joy. His body jerks, quickly back to the
floor as his invisible ride is over.
“What more do you want of me my queen? Ask and it will be done.” Isaiah’s eyes
grow wide, and he tilts his head as if listening to an unheard noise. “Yes...
yes.” After another pause he drops his head and shakes it. “I cannot. I wont!”
Isaiah yells with hesitant disobedience. Isaiah’s body suddenly jerks back up,
as if the strings where pulled again, another silent scream escapes him. After
what seems like an eternity, Isaiah’s limp body drops back to the floor.
Eyes full of anger Isaiah bellows. “Why M’lady, why?! I have given everything
to you! My life, my soul,” Isaiah chokes. “My wife, and Darla forgive me... my
kids. I slaughtered my wife and kids in the name of Azura’s “Will”!! I would
give my life for you a million times M’lady, but what you ask of me I cannot
do!!” Isaiah tilts his head to listen again. “My faith IS strong I SWEAR it!
Its just hard sometimes...” He lowers his voice to a whisper. “My wife and
kids, M’lady, what did they ever do?”
He pauses and listens.
The strong preacher slowly drops to his knees and begins to weep.
“Forgive me, M’lady, forgive me! Your word is rule and if it was forsaken they
had to...” Isaiah chokes again, he then speaks in a voice barely audible. “Help
me, help me to see the way.”
Isaiah’s body once again gets taken for a ride, but this time he drops to the
floor and begins to convulse, and vomit.

"Us? Them? Don't tell me you're gonna start picking on me
for looking different." Teleran said, confusion playing across his face. "I've
had to deal with enough of that already."
'Maybe I have had too much to drink, I can't make head nor tail of this guy.'
He thought to himself.
"Sit and have a drink. Night-Scar's paying."
The cloak figure stepped back.
"Yes, I see now. You have strayed from the true path, you have betrayed
your oath to our goddess! For this you shall die, N'wah!"
The cloak fell back revealing a thin but well defined Dunmer in chitin armor.
His eyes were a shiny blue.

Ciel couldn’t find the words to say anything in response to
Tris. He remained silent. The conversation stirred his
memories. Cold snows, the ash of Vvardenfell, a sealed letter, an ebony
dagger. The conflicted thoughts jumbled in his head.
At last he said, “I’m glad you didn’t…”
As if he could read Ciel's mind, Tris said, "I was watching you
then..."
He turned to Ciel and smiled, his eyes catching the light edgewise so that they
were more gold than green.

Outskirts of Blacklight
Jeremiah was the bastard son of a Dunmer woman named Hilkiah, and an unknown
Nord father he never knew. Raised in Skyrim he developed a strong accent, and a
Nord’s build. The countless years of racism, and taunts he got from the Skyrim
locals made him develop a short temper, absolutely no trust in anyone, and a
fierce determination to dominate everything he did. It also didn’t help that
his mother was senselessly killed for 15 drakes. After his years of misery in
Skyrim, when he heard Azura’s beckoning call he didn’t think twice about his
decision. Never did he imagine he would be one of her chosen, one of her
prophets.
Jeremiah walks back to his tent and crosses the sea of blue eyed Azura
followers. As he does he is stopped by a Bosmer, in light leather armor.
Jeremiah rolls his eyes. “What do ‘ye want Ahab?”
“You know what I want. You think about what we talked about?” Seeing Jeremiah’s
silent response Ahab puts his hands on his hips. “You still taking orders from
that fool Isaiah?” Ahab mocks.
Jeremiah towers over the Bosmer. “I have no sun for your gyp, laddie.”
“You should be the leader, Jer. Your stronger and smarter than that S’wit. That
one armed harlot has Isaiah’s ear. He’ll kill you over her, in a heartbeat if
it came down to it.”
Jeremiah stares into space as he contemplates Isaiah’s actions. He did favor
her over me in the beginning. I was the last prophet. I really cant trust him,
can it? Hmm...
Ahab breaks Jeremiah’s thoughts. “Listen to me, I’m only speaking the truth.
Watch your tail, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
“We’ll jaw dance on this in the marrow. I may have to kiss the sun in the
morn.” Jeremiah says walking off.
Jeremiah continues to his tent, lost in his thoughts.

Jazbet's Castle Library
Reading was proving to be much more relaxing than Loranna might have thought;
the studying she had done earlier had really paid off. Granted, she was
sticking to mostly simple texts for now, but the act of reading itself was
proving good for her jumbled mood.
... Well, maybe things will work out between us after all, she thinks as
she finishes her perusal of an annotated copy of a basic restoration magic
text. Still annoying that I keep acting so childish and self-centered
though, but ... well, maybe it's just going to be that way for a long while
now. I've got about twenty plus years where I didn't really grow all that much
to make up for, after all ...
Despite her attempt at telling herself things would work out though, Loranna
isn't totally mollified. Just seems so stupid though that we've all come so
far together and we seem to not understand each other yet ...
It was getting late, Loranna realizes; frowning, she cleans up her reading area
and heads to Jazbet's room, hoping she still understood her lover, at least.
... You know, neither he nor I have really gone into our early years with
each other yet ... she thinks as she knocks on his door and calls out
"Jazbet? It's me."

Arynel took a deep breath, and retrieved a piece of paper and a
quill, which he placed down on the table top. The Breton began to write,
stopped, crumpled up the paper, threw it into a receptacle, and retrieved a
second piece. He slumped down in his chair, resting his head against his hand
and biting his bottom lip. At last he began to write a second time:
Any terrain no matter how virgin becomes a worn path at a single marking
footfall, the essence of the wanderer then becomes as the scout and
trailblazer, I offer up a new letter, write what you will. My feet become an
ink-soaked quill, the unmarked parchment filled, a path touched but yet
untamed, marked with hesitation and lacking definition, any path to freedom too
well worn becomes a prison of its own. My semblance is the misconstruence of my
image, or rather; my recognition is the transference of your miscomprehension,
the saving letter becomes a noose.
My realization becomes the culmination of your inconsistency, that is, guilt becomes
a feast served on the silver tray of hypocrisy; a charge unnamed is criminal of
the greatest magnitude, for it offers the defendant no hope of defense. One
hand I name judgment, it is bladed and terrible to behold, but truly I say,
have not the revelations of the devil-in-man justified its employ? My other
hand I name mercy, it is a pristine garden watered by tears well shed, but
truly I say, does not its semblance become as that of a knife to the one who
finds his labor has become his own prison? I bring both my hands, and you would
cut them off, what then becomes my salvation? My reconciliation becomes an
allowance of misapprehension, or rather; the removal of both hands becomes the
definition of castration.
My joy is a burning flame I ignite from unsought kindling, my pain is the
weight you place upon my shoulders, I know no shadow that is not a chain of the
worlds own making; shall I shrug them off again? I hear the straw is quite ripe
for chewing, I danced with innocence once before with the world as our pedestal
and the sky as our dome. You would have me play my part in this, and yet you
would cut off both my hands, like a thief you steal the joy of my heart, and
make me to wear shackles of compliance and with it reprehension. My only pain
is the remembrance of beauty lost; my only arrogance is the fear of
imprisonment.
Arynel read the letter silently after he had finished, and frowed. The Breton
crumbled up the piece of paper and threw it into an empty corner of the tavern.

A boat....somewhere, in the ocean-
The culists were below deck, entertaining themselves in oh so many different
ways. Inzoliah, Brum, and Merciander were on deck, with the ships captain, who
they had subdued into taking them to their destination, which, they weren't
even certain of at the moment.
They huddled around eachother, on the opposite end of the ship from the
captain. "Well, we're suspiciously close to the mainland, where do we
land?" asked Brum, looking over the other two figures. "I'm not sure,
I say we take the nearest port which is shown to us" replied Merciander,
looking to the others for a sign of satisfaction with his choice.
"No no, that's an idiotic idea, we can't just go around sailing into town
ports willy nilly, we need some sort of information as to where a plausible
place would be" Snarled Inzoliah, locking eyes with the altmer. "But
we don't have that! this is the best shot we have, and as far as I'm concerned
it's the only shot we have."
Inzoliah frowned at him, then straightened up, looking over the waters, she
noticed a ship sailing unnervingly towards them. "What's this....?"
she muttered, striding to the edge of the deck and looking out over to the
ship, Brum and Merciander closely behind her.
There sudden silence was interrupted as an arrow came sailing towards them,
they scattered, letting the arrow sail cooley past them. "Pirates..."
Brum muttered loudly, before charging over to the captain. "Avoid that
ship at all costs..." He demanded, reeling the man around to face him by
way of the shoulder.
"No, I'm afraid that's exactly where we are heading" He stated
simply, bowing his head and chuckling. Suddenly the hatch to the lower levels
burst open, and cultists poured out of it, "We have a little situation
here..." Claimed the first one out, after catching his breath. "What
kind, of situation.....?"
All of a sudden, the ship's deck errupted, bits of splintered wood flying
everywhere, sending almost everyone one standing there several metres in the air.
The loud screech of Winged Twilights could be heard as they flew up from the
lower levels, taking two cultists with them.
More screeches could be heard from the other ship, as the daedra were summoned,
The captain in which they had already subdued summoned his own twilight,
cackling loudly he dove from his position, landing on Brum's back and driving
his iron dagger into his shoulder.

who are these guys?" Reichi looked the other two, a male Redgaurd with
black dreadlocks, darker eyes, and a female Nord with long black hair and light
blue eyes.
"Well, you see....the Redgaurd is Camassim, and the Nord is Eya.
They're...er..friends."
"They smell like..."
"They are."
"You cause this?"
"No no no. Camassim got it up in High Rock, near Daggerfall, like
me."
"And Eya?"
"Er, well it was my fault that time...actually."
"You bit her!?"
"She asked for it.."
Reichi sighed, contemplating why someone could possibly want that.
"How'd you get here?" he asked at last, rubbing his temples.
"Blacklight, lots of People with the bluest eyes there. Odd place.
Bright eyes though, glowy, brighter than Eya's."
Reichi snapped his head up. "They didn't attack? Summon Winged
Twilights?" he asked.
"Kept our faces hidden, like always, why?" was the reply.
"Nothing. Well, i gotta take a leak, excuse me." Reichi stood and
wandered off into the mess of people, tents, and building that was Ald Raathim.
Tohe, Camassim, and Eya shrugged.

Night-Scar woke amidst the confusion. There was an unconscious
Azurite on the ground, with Tris, Ciel, and Teleran nearby. Surprised, he stood
up rapidly, fists and feet at the ready.

As Reichi left the pub Teleran came over to the corner where he
had been sitting with three robed persons. "Are you friends of Reichi?
Good fellow that, good with a swo..." he trailed off. "Hey you're
different, from the rest, like Reichi, different from him too, similar
but..." Teleran's voice droppped to a whisper, "Hounds?"

Tohe blinked, Eya didn't register any show of surprise, Camassim on other hand
was more verbal. "How da 'Ell?" He exclaimed, when Eya kicked him in
the back of knee he stumbled and quieted. "How do you kno' Dat?" he
asked, in a whisper. He breifly turned around. "Im sure i dun' got me tail

"Same way I do this," Teleran said making his spear levitate a few
inches above the ground and away from his body. "I just do. I'm not so

*Clank* *Clank* Sekka walked into the tavern and went to the bar
. He orderd a mead. Sekka learned yet again that no respectable tavern in
morrowind carries mead. He rolled his eyes and sat down, then he noticed
Teleran and yelled across the room "Hello good friend...were happy to see
so many friends here...."

Sekka when he yelled across the room, but didn't comment.

Werebeast Hunters of Tamriel in Vivec, but I haven't heard from them since the

they left well before we got there.
"What's the plan now then? Wait, you were in Vivec?" Teleran said.
"I've never worn heavy armor myself, too cumbersome."
Then he glanced down at his left 'arm', clad in plate steel and shook his head.
"Guess I do, forgot about that."

"Not a person. Azurites are a race that Azura created out of those who
swore their undying faith to her, then tried as hard as they could to kill all
those who didn't. Their defining feature is their glowing blue eyes, and their
ability to cause havoc by summoning a winged twilight. Other than that, they
look like whatever race they were before their transformation." Teleran
said, his tone drier than the ashlands.
"I think she promised them that they would rule over all others in furture
lives or somesuch, they seem to look on others as livestock. I don't think
they're really all that different from the Khajiit in their manner of creation,
but they're a lot more vicious about it."

to recognize something. "Wait, them guys in Blacklight, there were lots of
people with eyes like that! DUNMER with eyes like that," he said.
"Den Dat means wez got a seriouz problem if dey march on down

At that time, Reichi wandered into the bar and proceeded to smacked into the

him in return.
"Stupid crowds." he muttered, getting back up.

"Hey, Tel, what are we going to do about your unconscious friend over

He bowed gallantly. "Pardon's if I didn't introduce myself, folks. My name

The Breton child commented with a grin. Camassim growled a "Why you

In the tavern at Ald Rathaam, the lines between What Is and What
Is Not become blurry.
Matter shrinks toward a certain point in the room, bending Reality with it. The
drunks in to room shrug it off as just a hallucination, but the sober start to
wonder what's going on here.
Suddenly, without explaination, Issa Yojimbo is on the floor on his hands and
knees, breathing heavily. Prophet's Edge is still glowing after sending him
through the Void to Where He Needs to Be.
He looks up and sees the tavern goers looking at him, most of them with a
puzzled expression.
"Eh, what's up guys?"

"The Tiberine is not here. I could take a message, but no
guarantees he'll get it. These people are here because this is the first place
they've come to where they haven't been greeted by blades and claws. They flee
Azura's wrath. She has shown the truth of her character. And all who are not
blind are running or fighting, but how can we stand against a goddess."
Teleran looked intently at the space slightly above and to the right of Sekka's
face.
