Elder Scrolls Forums _ Elder Scrolls Lore _ RP: Morrowind Moonlight
Posted by: Loranna Today, 12:01 AM
Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP.
If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If
you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character
you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's
PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards
they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

behind. "You were an Ordinator? I'm sure you're a great benefit in this,

"And he's [censored] spooky, ain't he?" Merey chimed in.

Shaka was hoping the look of love in his eyes for Anya wasn't too apparent yet.

Spooky the dark-eyed Bosmer sat quietly at Cyndarius's side,

wiped his mouth, or raised his cup, Spooky would attempt to match the action.
He was awkward at this, at best, and was obviously not used to sitting at a

It is doubtful that anyone at the table had heard an orc whistle before, but
they had now.

"I know an unspoken thought when I see one that obvious in a man's eyes.
"You have something to say to me, Kratos. Say it." His last words,
though calm and even, made the wooden table shake.
Loranna closes her eyes for a moment, then turns to Slyvos.
"So, these will now respond to our intents?" she asks Slyvos quietly,
keeping her eyes on Kratos and Cyndarius as she does.
More quietly, she says to Slyvos " ... Dear, no one's got the right to
just come out and insult you like that ..."

A large figure materialized on the guild guide platform of Ald
Raathim. Exquisite clothing, shimmering with enchantment, encased and gave form
to rolls of thick fat which spoke eloquently of a man not given to self-denial.
Fernando Illington, reknowned illusionist, master of restoration and Master
Wizard of the Mages Guild, ambled awkwardly out of the large building, pausing
to demand directions of a busy apprentice carrying vials of alchemical samples.
He didn't usually respond to such calls for a trainer. But Ald Raathim?
Dominion of the "Accursed Mother", frequented by other individuals of
power reputation? This was too much to resist. One could only stand so much
teaching of the spoiled, ill-disciplined children of Nobility. He chortled as
he thought to himself. "No one should be able to behave like that until
they've earned the right." Still smiling, he continued down the path,
eager to introduce himself to the Lady of Daruhn. It had been too long since he

"About our training, we're trying to focus on teamwork, right? Almost as
if we were a squad in the legion. Now do not misuderstand me, we need to work
as a unit, and we need to rely on each other. It is essential. But we're not
the legion. Many of us have spent most of the harder battles working together,
yes, but many more have spent their lives alone.
"Shaka, Isidor, Falco, me, we're all lone fighters. We're skilled at what
we do, but I've seen that we have a tendency to go about our own business in
battles, we take our own oppenents and deal withthem exclusively. And that's
what we're good at, that's what we've spent more of our lives doing.

standing behind a big, strapping warrior, willing to take all my damage. But I

It'll allow us much more flexibility to different situations, and I'm sure

"Ok, I'll keep your poisons in mind as well."
"We should use that more as well. Many formations I see, I find myself
standing behind a big, strapping warrior, willing to take all my damage. But I
don't need someone in front of me to do my job. I'm more than able to handle
myself if someone breaches the line.
"But that also means I won't be firing arrows. Which is why we'll need

Loranna frowns. "Anya, the thing is - you shouldn't be stopping raining
arrows down on the enemy. That's why we have an archer on our team to begin
with. And why we've got someone to run interferance for you should someone
breaks through our fighter's line."
She rubs the back of her neck. "We do know individual tactics pretty well
- but you saw how the fight with Tris, myself, Isidor, and Falco went. They
tried individual tactics and together Tris and I mopped the floor with them.
And our foes are likely to take any chance they can to divide us up - going off
on our own without support from the team is just making their job easier."

"As I mentioned, I hadn't given it much thought past what I said. I know
that I myself have a harder time with group tactics. All my training went to
fighting people with only myself for resources. My situation awareness is high
because of it, and I'll know what the others are doing; but implenting what
they're doing into a plan is hard for me. I was just seeing if there was a way
to work with that. I suppose if someone was there to help direct the fight,
it'll go smoothly. Just not that Ordinator." She mentioned that last part
out of impulse.

Her brow furrows slightly as she talks.
"We should all sit down and discuss strategies as well; that's partly why
we had the figurines enchanted, so we can play things out before trying them
for real," she adds.

"I think our versatility is a strength," Goranthir said. "We can
step in in multiple roles. If we found ourselves fighting in a place where an
archer wasn't as useful, say, a dense forest, we may want to alter our plans.
We should have multiple formations for different situations, not just one that
suits the arena."

Slyvos took his figurine, as it play-fought one of the rats.
what a glorious battle! Til the rat got bored and started gnawing on it's head.
He took some of the crumbs and such from the plates that were left behind and
gave them to the mice, leading them back to their hole in the wall.
'now stay there, it's safer. gah. I'm still talkin to the rats... meh, oh
well.'
He went over to listen to the others talk, throwing an illusionary fireball up
and down in his hand like it was a bouncy ball.

strengthening an Invisibility spell to aid in my stealth."

practiced switching between weapons use and spells.
"Some toybox, all right," he said to himself. He looked over at Anya,

She had heard that Elysana was ill, mentally and physically, but the women who

were quick and clever.
"I have your payment," said Elysana.
"I will need to stay here for a little while, a year possibly more,"
said Kethiah, taking the gold.
"I will protect you," the Queen replied. "In fact, I have
another job for you. I need you to find someone who has gone missing."
"Tris Gaerington, I assume," Kethiah replied. "Shouldn't I be

She really ought to get around to hiring an office manager when she could

Maybe Slyvos could enchant a one-dimensional smiling statue for her...that
