After many adventures, the procession is finally leaving for
Vivec, riding on boats cast off from Suran. The voyage begins, and promises to
be an interesting one, filled with many conversations, secret actions, and
perhaps revelations as well.
As always, mirc irc.ChatSpike.net channel #Loranna_RP is our official chatroom
for the event. Everyone who plays is welcomed and encouraged to join the chat
so that we may discuss plot developments and swap jokes about our characters
Those who can't get into the chatroom are encouraged to PM Loranna about any
plot ideas or scene-effecting actions they have in mind; I will try to answer
you with all possible speed.
Part Twenty Two begins ...

Summary
Reichi- the dunmeri Werewolf is currently attempting to relax on Loranna's
boat.
Dar'Var- with the slaves 'n Doll.
Tarenen- At the Hunter camp slightly north of vivec, awaiting news on where
Loranna's boats are landing so he can complete his mission.
------------------------------------------------------------
He would need something with a high enchantment value. Then he would need to
think of a enchantment. Then, he would need money for enchanter to make said enchantment.
Reichi considered just selling the damn thing.
But, even if he couldn't make something he might as well have a souvenier from
this insane adventure.
He still couldn't shake the smell of meats.

QUOTE(Loranna @ Jan 10 2005, 07:29 PM)
Loranna feels her eyes grow moist ...
... By all the gods ... he really is doing this ...
Trembling, Loranna starts to put the amulet around her neck, her tears striking
the various materials that compose the jewelry. However, half-way, she
stops ...
" ... Love, there's ... there's no way I can promise to keep this as safe
as it should be," she says, her face burdened with a frown.
"I'm not strong enough to safeguard this ..."
She lowers her arms, crying. " ... I'd ... I'd not be true to my
love for you if I took this, knowing that I can't protect it the way it ought
to be protected ... forgive me ..."
Dagoth gives a mental sigh. ' Well, Loranna..... I... I...... understand. Guess
I got alittle carried away...... At least you got to see the real me..... well,
almost......'
Loranna will notice that the room changes drastically, into a ruby red room,
with crystals jutting out of the walls and floor and ceiling, an alter with a
skull on it in on the far side, and a circle that she and dagoth stand in on
the center.

Summary:
Elysana, the Queen of Wayrest, is aboard Loranna’s ship with her battlemage,
Herwyn. Known now as Lady Farrine, she has recently received a note which has
prompted her to grill Faril, Liris’s man … She is still trying to decide
whether the Cult of Loranna-Azura will turn out to be a profitable investment
for her.
Lord Dres Jazbet, Khajiit knight in the service of House Dres, is aboard the
same boat, exhausted from moving the boxes back and forth all evening. He is
looking forward to some private time with Loranna, but that may have to wait,
as crowded as the ship is …
Lord Dres Wyrloc is aboard the ship trailing Loranna’s, pretending he knows
much more than he does about – well, everything.
Bosriel, the dark-haired little girl, the Void Vampire, is alone. In the
Void.

Loranna's Cabin - Dagoth's Projection
Loranna gasps a bit at the sudden change in the scenery, looking around with
wide eyes.
" ... Is this ... your home, or ... inside the amulet ..." she asks,

Allerleirauh:
Aricyn was seated on the quarterdeck, head tipped back, watching the swell of
the sails. His wolf, beside him, seemed uncomfortable with the rolling of the
boat.
Allerleirauh sat beside him, wrapping her arms around her knees, and joined him
in watching the sail.
"You know," she said conspiratorially, "You'll feel much
better if you learn to express your innermost feelings..."
It was too much for her; she stifled a snort of laughter.

Loranna's Cabin
Loranna looks at Dagoth with eyes that are at once loving, hungry, kind,
longing, sad, and ... something else, hard to describe ...
" ... Never offer more than they can accept; never take more than they can
safely give," she says, walking up to Dagoth ...
" ... This, I can offer; can you accept it?" she asks as her arms
reach up to embrace him again. "This, I would ask to take; can you safely
give it ...?"

His face away from her, he smiled, then he turned with a deep frown on his
face. In one swift spring he tackled her to the deck, laughing.
They rolled around, each trying to get the best of the other. Then with a snarl
the old wolf joined the fray, leaping in and placing his jaws firmly around the
back of Aricyn's head and neck.
Aricyn immediately bolted upright, towering over the old wolf.
"HOW many times do I have to tell you not to do that? Next time you're a
rug, I swear."
The old wolf huffed, unconcerned.
Shaking his head, Aricyn helped Allerleirauh to her feet.

Arynel eyes Allerleirauh sit beside Aricyn on a nearby boat.
The Breton waves his arms, and a soft green light forms around him. His form
shimmers, and at last vanishes.
Tiny splashes trace the distance between the two ships.

Dagoth felt a sense of longing himself..... he had never felt so complete....
Loranna's arms wrap around Dagoth and her lips press against where his would be
- and she whispers " ... Me as well ..."
... a single moment, in which time simply stopped having meaning, holds the two
figures transfixed for the length of their embrace; in that seeming infinity
two souls feel themselves be something greater ...
... and then, the moment fades and they are back in Loranna's cabin, Loranna
pressing the amulet against her heart.
"Take this now and hide it in the deepest bowels your magic can
secure," she tells Dagoth. "Don't come back until you've placed every
protection on it your arcane might can muster; I will never, ever forgive you
if you do any less."
She kisses the amulet and passes it back to Dagoth, smiling. " ... Thank
you; now, go. Hide it away."

Tholer Rathryon
After disembarking Rathryon's True Believers dispersed through out the city to
find what they could about the leaders of this army. Meanwhile Tholer and the
one-eyed Dunmer headed to the castle, in this city that is where the leaders
would be found.
As he crossed the bridge he noticed guards on the doors, and they took notice
of him, but were a little more interested in his scarred friend's appearance.
"I am here to see the one in charge here. I demand an audience with your
lord." he anounced himself.
"Do you have an appointment with King Helseth?" the guard asked with
exaggerated politeness.
"An appointment!" Rathryon sputtered, "I demand to be let
through immediately!" Breathing deeply he calmed himself and said in a
clipped tone, "I have come to offer my services and those of my men in the
battle against the false-incarnate Loranna. May I be admitted into your lord's
court."

familiar ... The Queen stepped back, and walked away, waiting 'til she could
remember where she knew her from. Many years of memories to sort through, but
she never forgot a face. It was one of her chief skills as a sovereign.

"Wait here." was the Guard's reply, before leaving to
look for the King.
'The nerve of this man. Who does he think he is making me wait?' he seethed. 'I
suppose I don't have a choice.' He indicated for the scarred man beside him to
sit and did the same. Waiting for the guard to return. 'He better be back soon
or I will come back with my men and rip the castle down around him.'

Raising his arms, B threw back the hood of his grey cloak. “So, you have some

"You know, Allerleirauh seems to have mentioned, in passing, that I'm a

The path is ever waving
A thread so deep
Its secrets keep
Onward towards the offering

Arynel's playing went off key for a moment, and then came to a hault.
"No, that is quite wrong." The Breton said. "The rhythm is all
off, the key not constant. Who can make a tune from this? One better than I, it
seems."
Arynel smiled.
"Perhaps though, it is not so great a crime. A song to a laugh and a tune
to good times."
The Breton began a familiar tune:
They say
The Iliac Bay
Is the place to barrel around
Without a bit of apparel on,
As advertised in that carol song
A tune that's sung as the west wind blows
About it lovely not wearing any clothes.
Ladies singing high notes, men singing lows,
Implying that the most luscious depravity
And complete absence of serious gravity
Can only be found in the waterous cavity
Of Iliac Bay.
If you are the type who is more a sinner than a sinned,
You'll find it all in Morrowind.

Tris listened to the singing on the upper deck. He and Ciel were less likely to

There is sin.
But, pray, do not confuse Dunmer variety
With that found in tepid Western society
Compared to which, it nearly is piety.
It isn't terribly ingenious calling it prudery
Observing the Dark Elf aversion to nudity.
After all, the preferred sort of lewdity
In these parts is far more pernicious.
From the Ashlanders to the wettest fishes
You'll find pleasure and pain quite delicious
In Morrowind.
If you find yourself with unkind kinship with your kin
You'll find it all in Morrowind.

The Khajiit, mostly asleep on the roof, continued the tune:
I asked my love where we could live without the slightest care?
She said, “Love, Elsweyr.”
I asked my love where we could love and no one would ever stare?
She said, “Love, Elsweyr.”
I asked my love where can I shed my clothes and walk about bare?
She said, “Love, Elsweyr.”
So I moved my eager feet
To the land of the Khajiit

Caught her with a frisky cat
“We are not a loving pair,”
I said, “Shove, elsewhere.”

Elysana remembered where she had seen the silver-haired Nord
woman before.
Allerleirauh, that was her name.
She had been good. Very good. And she was evidently even better now.
What was Allerleirauh doing with the divine barmaid? Merely work for hire
again?
If the Queen wanted to protect her identity as Lady Farrine, she would need to
avoid this woman ... But that was the question, wasn't it? Was it time of the
masquerade where the disguises were dropped? Was there anything to be gained by
this subterfuge anymore?
As always, Elysana made certain to camouflage her thoughts with the aid of her
magickal token. Who knew how well these things worked -- but still, with telepaths
about, any protection was better than none ...

Teleran said, "And I suppose you're right I wouldn't be standing here. The
ordinators wouldn't take kindly to someone standing in the midst of a pile of
corpses." His hands drop to his sheaths, caressing the daedric carved
hilts, eager to draw them.
'Yes, yes slash them. Let us rend them from life!'screamed the voice.
The group of assorted figures all started chuckling, then Inzoliah, the female
dunmer steps forward and says, "Why, would somebody provoke a fight where
one is not needed?" Merciander took a step back and grinned.
"Surely, you'd be smart enough not to taunt foes who, obviously, you know
nothing about...in a city filled with powerful guards none the less."

accustomed to dodging guards."
Teleran composes himself as the voice recedes, "May I have your name, my
Lady? You are much wiser than I in matters of tact. Perhaps I should stick with
you and learn from your example." He grins boyishly, "Say, do you
know any good places to hunt around Vivec? I haven't hunted in too long."

quite got the hang of tossing fireballs around, waste of energy if you ask me." Teleran said, "And a few years to reach such rank

I've got some time to kill. This whole city's on hold, waiting for Azura's

we need somebody to go to Suran and check on the Incarnates current state and

sent a veritable fleet of ships to aid them in their travel to Vivec, they
should be there by now. Probably loading up at the moment, maybe leaving the

helps too when you're dealing with ships. As for her current state, my guess is
good health and good spirits, her journey nears its end and it appears that the

"Erm, well, I have been out of it for a while, but walking through Vivec,
after I came by asking for some food, one has a chance to hear many things and
given that half the city is given over to the Temple its easy to dig up info on

"Pity, not many do," Teleran said. "I don't suppose you and your

glancing at the Nord. 'I still didn't get any of their names,oh well, I've got

With that he headed over to the cornerclub and bought a round. He'd return in a

A while later Teleran leaves the cornerclub in a wonderful mood. One of the
patrons had known how to play darts and was really quite good at it. Some of

'Time to see if they've gotten any less coy,' he thinks wandering to the group

Upon getting closer to the group, Teleran might hear several voices say things
like,
"So, if they're travelling by boat, where would they land? surely not at
the usual docks so close to Tarenens party.."
and,
"Ofcourse not, perhaps they would try to land somewhere closer to the

'Who was this Tarenen and why would they believe Loranna would avoid his party?
Of course they were right about not using the docks, they would not allow so
many vessels to land at once so they would probably dock directly with some
cantons, or they could rotate the docking, but this was not exactly a topic for
such an intense conversation.' Teleran thought to himself.
"Good day, my lady. What do I want? Oh, nothing in particular, a conversation
perhaps, a challenge to undertake. Merely something to occupy my time, and I
chose a conversation with you lot." Teleran laughed at nothing in
particular, then asked. "Why would Loranna wish to avoid landing near this

"C'mon I said a challenge," Teleran snorted, "Sneaking onto a
ship, that's a joke. Besides, you don't want either of those if you're going to
sneak aboard a ship in the middle of the water. Swift swim and water breathing
are better suited to the task, you need swift swim only if the boats are moving
at a fair speed of course, or to conserve other potions. You swim to the boat
underwater, if you are above the water they'll spot you if they're keeping any
kind of watch, and they'll be doing that so they don't run aground. Of course
you do have to be able to climb the sides, that can get tricky on a moving
ship. What would you want me aboard one of the ships for anyway? I hadn't heard
that they were carrying vast piles of treasure, mostly just followers of
Loranna."

Tris:
The big white haired Nord, Aricyn, escorted Tris and Ciel into the cabin where
Loranna was holding court. Aricyn, after a sharp glance into the corner of the
room, shut the door behind them and took up a position outside the door.
Tris looked at Loranna. Despite the ashen color of her skin, she looked very
little different from the last time he had seen her. Not even her pregnancy had
progressed. The color of her skin had changed - but not the open expression of
her face.
The anger, the anger he'd been wondering where he'd misplaced, rose up all at
once. Because it was all her fault, wasn't it? She was the one who had
rampaged through Skyrim at the head of a group of heroes and destroyers who
should never have been brought together. She was the one who had tampered with
fate. It was to capture her that Ciel had been sent from Wayrest.
Maybe Ciel was right. Maybe ignorance wasn't a good enough excuse.
He swallowed hard, and extended his hands. "Hello, Loranna. It's taken me
a bit longer to get back than it took me to leave. But I'm here now."

'Well its good to see he can show some emotion, I was beginning to think he was
a piece of the canton.' Teleran thought to himself.
"Yes, I'll be off then," Teleran called as he leaped over the canton
railing and plunged into the water. He couldn't wait to tell Loranna's party
about those that awaited her in Vivec.
As he swam through the waters between Vivec and Suran he speared a
slaughterfish with a dagger in passing and outdistanced its brethren munching
merrily away as he streaked towards the ships.
A half hour later he caght sight of the ships, chugged a water breathing potion
and vanished under the waves before coming up beside the lead ship. He climbed
up the side quickly, but getting on deck would take some patience, the ship was
packed. He didn't recognize any on this ship, obviously filled with
worshippers. he slipped back into the water to try another ship. 'I wonder
which of these ships is the one I'm looking for. Have to be quick about it he
though.'

even without telepathy, she could see the signs of the changes he had undergone

... Why did this happen to him? she wonders, as she takes his hand

She shakes her head, trying to banish sorrow. " ... You're alive, both of
you," she says, squeezing Tris's hand once more before letting go.
"I'm thankful for that ..."
A worried look comes over her face and she lowers her voice. " ...

Ciel
Ciel had heard stories of Loranna’s changed appearance but he himself had not
seen her since just after her arrival in Morrowind. It was not quite as he had
anticipated. She looked virtually the same but she was not as he had last encountered
her. Something was different beyond her skin. Perhaps it was mere positioning.
“Lady Loranna,” Ciel began his tone both formal and polite. “I thank you for
the warning. We have already been taking steps to avoid her and her minions.”
He tilted his head while contemplating the rest of what Loranna had said.
“Grateful to see me?” he asked a bit surprised but he smiled back. “Last time
you saw me, you were my prisoner.”
Behind the knights face lurked deeper thoughts. Broken and burning homes. Dead men.
Red snow. Children... He was holding back for the moment though.

The anger was so bad it almost felt like nausea. All the anger he hadn't felt
towards Elysana, towards Leseth. All the anger over his lost life. And what was
his life, just a drop in the ocean of misery and shame really.
Yet the veneer of politeness was even stronger than the anger.
"I'm not really alive," he said, smiling. "Or I should say,
Mirror's dead. He let me keep most of his body parts when he left. But not all
of them."

In his corner, Dagoth stirs slightly. Thanks to his own
telepathic talents he could sense the deeper feelings both men hid, and he
reached out to speak to Loranna on it ...
Loranna, however, simply replies ... Let this play out as it will, love ...
please.
" ... I've been a prisoner the whole time, Sir Ciel," Loranna says
quetly. "And I was the one who threw my freedom away. At least, when you
were my jailer, I felt ... "
Looking over at Tris, Loranna is briefly without words, but her eyes speak for
her - another person she had come to like and care for, caught up in the chaos
she set off and left mangled ...
" ... Dead ... I'm dead too," she says quetly, before blinking and
shaking her head angrily.
" ... Damn it girl, they risked so much to come here, stop getting lost in
your own misery and listen to them," she says, thinking aloud without even
realizing it.
Taking a deep breath, she asks " ... You've come to talk to me about ...
what was promised in Skyrim, yes?"

At
least, when you were my jailer, I felt ...
Ciel
He stepped forward, boots thudding the ships on the wooden floor boards. Dead?
What did she know of the state except the causing of it? Misery?
“Yes,” Ciel responded, smile fading into a straight face. “Words were exchanged
in Skyrim. We are here to find out if you intend to keep them and proceed to
trial.”
The knight stopped not far from where she sat.

Ciel

“Yes,” Ciel responded, smile fading into a straight face. “Words were
exchanged in Skyrim. We are here to find out if you intend to keep them

The knight stopped not far from where she sat.
Loranna sighs, muttering " ... I'm a fool to have ever taken this path; I
was a fool when you caught us in Skyrim and despite everything everyone's tried
to teach me along the way, I'm still a fool more often than is good."
Her lips set in an angry line. " ... When I spoke those words I was still
laboring under the delusion that I and Azura were one and the same; it's become
abundantly clear that that was never the case at all. As galling as it may
seem, we can't try Azura - mortals can't judge the gods like that. ... And I'm
not altogether certain that she may not have been intending for that trial I
asked for to become a mockery of Vivec's, as part of her plans."
"... The only one we can judge is me, I'm afraid Sir Ciel - I the mortal
who thought she could take a goddess into her and somehow make things better.
The girl who didn't see the warning signs at Lord Darius's ball in Cyrodiil
when nearly fifty children died because of things I carelessly set in motion.
The girl who didn't see that White Haven was another warning that her chosen
path was only going to lead to bloodshed and pain for everyone around her. The
girl who, at each city she passed in Skyrim, kept telling herself 'I made
mistakes, but I'm learning; the next time will be better and no one will get
hurt, you'll see ...' over and over and over again, always trying to become a
better person with each disaster and never letting herself see the one lesson
she should have learned way before that."
Loranna realizes she's trembling. " ... The girl who threw away the chance
to be who she really wanted to be, by becoming the vessel of a Daedra Prince.
The girl who doesn't even know if she'll be allowed to act on her own wishes
once we reach Vivec. The girl whose only wish now is to end all this - if only
she knew how to send Azura back without going through the maelstrom that's
waiting for us at the end of this voyage."
" ... The girl who should have been smacked off the side of her head years
ago and told to wise up and grow up," she says, almost bitterly. She waves
an angry hand at the corner, saying "Dagoth dear ... it's true. You're
right, but so are they - I should never have done any of this."
Loranna wipes her eyes fiercely, growling " ... I sound like an idiot
..."

Ciel listened until Loranna had finished recanting her journey
and then shook his head. He tried to remain calm, open hostility would do no
one any good. Dagoth? he thought glancing about the room. No one was
apparent. It would be best to tread carefully now. He suddenly recalled his
last meeting with Loranna. Fate, Duty, Consequence. Ciel had been dead set on
meeting all three in Wayrest but, then he had looked into a mirror. He glanced
at Tris.
“No, you don’t sound like an idiot or a fool,” Ciel said sadly. He stepped
back. “You persist in this madness.”
The knight closed his eyes.
“What have you done?” he asked in a quiet voice. “What have I? But you are
right, a god is beyond mortal judgment. As you are, I would say you are beyond
that as well. So be it.”
He remembered the red snows of the battle fought in Skyrim. “ So I asked a
wiser man than I. He let her live, and I will abide by his decision. You will
not listen to reason, then?” the words echoed in his mind. Reason had fled
long ago.
“What should I do?” he asked all but inaudibly, head tilted skyward.
He opened his eyes again. Fate is the only hand in the Void.
“I will not be left in your wake again.”

Tris watched Ciel as he spoke. The illusion of a different man's face had not
changed Ciel's expressions and gestures. Tris had learned to read him - how
long ago? Even before he had spoken to him.
Ciel understod now. He was starting to realize that Loranna wasn't a stumbling
block, or a wire stretched across the path. She was more like quicksand.
"No," he said. "NO! Damn it... she's, she's mortal. She's here,
she's still leading them, she doesn't understand ANYTHING. Were you - Loranna -
were you humming a little tune when we came in? Singing to yourself in your
little private world, with your tears held ready to make yourself seem too
pitiful to punish? Look at you, you have tears permanently grafted on to your
FACE, to make it easier. Those aren't your tears, when did YOU ever suffer for
anything you've done? Did you ever wonder where I was, while I was gone? Had a
good backrub lately?"
He realized he was becoming hysterical and stopped himself.
"Okay, fine. You're still Ciel's prisoner then, as you agreed. That means
you're going to trial in Vivec as you promised, and you'll tell the truth of
what you just said, in front of all the people there. There are plenty of
people in Vivec who would find it interesting to learn that Loranna made a
mistake in accepting Azura into her body and wishes she could undo it. And since
Ciel wants to go with you, that means you use your power to keep Elysana and
her people and her spies and her damned Void monsters AWAY from you. Because

Ciel's words had made Loranna blink in surprise; for a second, she finds
herself feeling certani that she just hurt the knight in a way she'd never have
dreamed possible ...
... and then Tris spoke up, and she stares at him, her expression gradually
growing angry ...
Loranna closes her eyes, and mutters "Why do I even try any more ..."
She opens her eyes and stares evenly at Tris. "Is that what you really
think I should do then?" she asks him. "Is that going to get Azura
back to Moonshadow any faster? Is revealing Elysana and forcing her hand really
going to help when she's got almost a fourth or more of the people following me
on her payroll somehow - and since when have I actually had the power to do
anything to a Void Ranger when they were outside the world?"
"You're probably right Tris - I don't feel like I understand anything
anymore. I don't think I ever did - all I do know is that there's so many
damned fingers in this pie now that no matter what I do I don't see how
anything can actually help. I don't see Azura letting me make that confession,
or if she does it'll just prompt her to find some other vessel, have that
person speak up that I was brainwashed by Allie and Arynel and it's time to
drive out the unbelievers. I don't see Elysana understanding she needs to sit
down and shut up unless someone dumps her down a well - and then we can add
Wayrest to the list of places I've made a mess in. And I don't see Leseth
buckling under anything I could hope to throw at him."
Loranna grits her teeth. " ... Damn the whole spotted owl to Oblivion
..." she hisses ...
" ... I'll ... strewth ..." She hated being angry at people she felt
were good-hearted, hated messing everything up, hated the fact that she
couldn't do anything but mess up anymore. She could already feel
Dagoth's thoughts trying to comfort her, and she couldn't accept them just now
- but neither could she turn him away totally, not after what they had just
shared a while ago ...
" ... The Temple is probably planning to take me into a protective custody
once we reach Vivec, at least until this whole mess with Helseth blows
over," she tells Tris and Ciel. "I don't know what Allie and Arynel
are planning but it probably involves stymiying Azura somehow before we can
complete the pilgrimage. Elysana may be more easy to nuetralize than I realize;
I'll ask Allie and Aricyn what ways we can go about getting her out of the
picture without causing any more ruckus than needed. The Void Monsters I still
don't know much of anything about but maybe if Elysana is made to leave they'll
follow her and leave you two alone."
"Maybe there's a way to work this out after all ..."

In his corner, Dagoth almost rattles with anger; how dare this mortal speak to
Loranna like that! What did he know of the suffering she had felt all along;
how dare he get angry at her and speak like this ...
... but the lich can see that, despite the anger coursgin through her right
now, Loranna doesn't want him to act. He doesn't understand, but he trusts her
enough to stay his hand - though his thoughts grow dark ...
Loranna, meanwhile, stares at Tris, the anger in her eyes still present.
Slowly, she shuts her eyes, and for a long, long moment, she's quiet ...
... All this, because I felt I should tell my jailer what I saw as the true
form of my crimes, she thinks to herself. Heartbreak and outrage because
I let myself get bitter at my own stupidity. And now here I am, left with a
clear as glass mandate - either live up to what you said even if it kills you
or else know you're not who you wish you could be at all, and never will be
that person.
... It'll certainly kill me; I'll end up leaving Dagoth and Jazbet feeling
heartbroken - just like Tris said. It'll leave the whole Azura getting back to
Oblivion question hanging, a mess for everyone else to clean up.
... It's ... possibly the only way I can truly seek to atone for the crimes
I asked Sir Ciel to arrest me for. It may be the only way I can actually be
Loranna, fully and unreservedly - for a brief moment, then nothing.
She'd been half-expecting to die all along, ever since those prophecies had
been revealed to her. She'd started to dare hoping once she met Jazbet that
maybe she could have some happiness before she died, maybe even not have to die
after all. She didn't want to die - she had things, people, for which
she wanted to live, now.
... But in her heart, she couldn't say Tris was wrong. Angry, yes. Overstaing
things? Maybe - ask someone who wasn't upset right now that, because she was
too distraught to make a judgement. But right ... this couldn't go on, and Ciel
had sacrificed so much ...
... like everyone else had ...
Ciel had risked so much ...
... like Dagoth had, and Jazbet was doing ...
Loranna shakes her head. " ... No; not because you're telling me this is
what I should do," she says quietly. " ... Because it's what my heart
tells me is the right thing to do, or else I don't do it at all."
" ... I hope the two of you are able to find some happiness after this is
over; you both deserve far better than what you got."
" ... If I'm going to do this I should at least let certain people know
beforehand. Once my neck gets wrung who knows what hell will break loose; they
should at least be forewarned it'll be coming."

"You're hoping someone will stop you," Tris said
quietly. Anger was energy; his had been stored for weeks, waiting for this
moment. Now he felt like a ragdoll shaken by a dog and dropped in a corner.
"Someone with more will than you have. You want to tell them so you won't
have to take responsibility when it doesn't happen."

"Nothing I can possibly think to do is anything other than the wrong

them and it's an attempt to break his heart and escape punishment? I ask if you
really think rocking the boat's going to accomplish anything helpful and I'm

"How do you do it?" he asked. He wasn't angry any more; he was almost
melting. "How do you read so many minds and still not know anything? I
used to dream, when I was a boy, of the perfect love, and how if you could just
feel what other people felt and see what they were seeing the whole world would
be a beautiful place. But everyone you see is a reflection of yourself. Your
name should have been Mirror."
He pulled himself straight; he had a tendency, now, to lean, to take the weight
off his bad leg.
"Loranna, you made a promise. It's that simple. It shouldn't surprise you
that you're being asked to keep it. It isn't anything drastic; it's what you
agreed to when you came to Morrowind. You have a daughter now, and she'll be
born here, as Ciel promised. Now you keep your promise."

Ciel never ceased to be in awe of Tris. More than once the young man had left
him speechless by speaking out on something he felt with a passion. It was a
cry to rouse a flagging army mired in defeat, to raise it's banners high once
more and fight on.
“Why not?” he asked Loranna, face shifting from sadness. “How will it be any

Loranna sighs, feeling her own anger subside.
" ... Tris, that dream was one I used to have myself," she says.
" ... The truth is not so simple though. Even with those whose thoughts
I'm closest to, there are things telepathy just doesn't tell you - things that
only true insight can reveal. Or haven't either of you noticed that I haven't
been touching either of your thoughts at all since this audience started
..."
"Sir Ciel, almost a year ago I made the mistake of taking Azura into
myself. I'd always loved dusk and dawn, always thought they were magical times
to be enjoyed and revered. And, you know? ... they are. But that's not Azura,
and it took me a long, long time before I could truly see that. I'd taken her into
myself to help her regain her home in Oblivion, and that was a burden I
shouldn't have taken, but I did and I didn't truly comprehend that until ... it
was too late."
"But, one way or another, Azura has to go back to Moonshadow - and she
doesn't have the strength to do it herself. And as terrible as my crimes have
been ... at least it wasn't someone else being made to do such things, or even
worse someone without the conscience that I do have."
She sighs. "I want to keep my promise - I want justice to be done,"
she tells them both. "I just don't know if the way I thought justice would
truly be done when I said, take me to trial, is actually the way now - like I
said, at the time my mind was still confused. I don't want to die - I don't
truly feel dying is how justice is going to be served - but until Azura's got
the strength to go home ..."
"What do I do?"

Don't persist with madness!"
Tris's eyes went vacant for a few moments. Through the wooden walls he could
hear all the noises of the ship, the rigging creaking, the water slapping the side,
the faint sounds of many voices raised in song and argument and speculation. He
was thinking harder than he was used to thinking, wishing once again that he
could just drop everything and run, get his blood pumping and his mind
straight.
"Loranna," he said. "There are two options that both seem
honorable to me. You can tell the people what Azura did to you, at a public
trial, and let them judge whether to follow you or not. Or you can use Azura's
power to fix everything that's gone wrong since this whole trip started. Azura
may not have that power, or she may not be inclined to use it, I don't know.
But Sheogorath offered to give me my foot back, in return for... too high a
price. I'm sure Azura has a price too. Maybe - enough adoration and worship to
return her to Oblivion. Either solution, the solution of the girl, or the
solution of the Daedra. Or, I don't know, curse and scream. But do it in
public, at the trial you agreed to."

Loranna looks first to Ciel, and then to Tris, and then,
briefly, to to corner in which Dagoth stands.
She sits down, and thinks for a moment, absently humming the snatches of
Allie's song she could best reproduce.
" ... I'm not someone who should be followed," she says at length.
"I don't have the skill to truly lead as ought to be done. Maybe I have
the potential to learn such, but I don't have it now."
" ... I don't think the second option is the wisest one, Tris. The Daedra
have a way of making their price be ... more than what you get in return. I'm
surprised I'm being allowed to speak in my own voice so freely as it is, to be
honest."
" ... No; it should be my own strength used to repair the mess I've made.
If I don't have that strength then I should practice until I do and make what
atonement I can. I thought once I should lock myself away from the world, but
that's not really solving the problem, just trying to avoid it getting
bigger."
Loranna nods, then frowns. " ... The first option then; we go to Vivec and
I go into custody. I make my statement and we have a trial, or a hearing, or
whatever. We let Sen-Yedda be born, we figure out how to get Azura back to
Oblivion, then assuming I survive both those events, I accept my atonement,
dedicating my life to it if need be."
Her frown becomes more pronounced. "It's rather likely Azura will try to
prevent this from coming to pass - she may very well be working against it even
now, hidden from my awareness. I may need to be forcibly restrained if she
takes over again - and Helseth is still marching to meet us at Vivec from what
I know. It's going to be chaotic, no matter what."
She looks to the two men. " ... A tavern girl's idea of justice; clean up
the mess you made. Try not to break the hearts of those few people whose lives
you've honestly brightened - love and caring are too precious to just throw
away. Take the time to do the job right, so you don't have to do the job over -
and try not to make a bigger mess while you're cleaning up the current
one."
She takes a deep breath. " ... And, maybe ... don't be too proud to ask
for help if you need it, just don't forget whose job it is to clean this up in
the end."
" ... So that's who I am, then."

The knight remained straight faced. He was silent for a long
moment but then finally spoke.
“Better,” he said quietly satisfied that she contented to the trial.
Fate, Duty, Consequence. Ciel thought he was going to meet them in Wayrest.
Perhaps he had. He came to Morrowind to see a word given through. A life
devoted to repairing harm done by folly seemed like apt recompense. If she was
willing to do such then she did not need to die.

"There," Tris said. "Ciel has done what he came
to do. Now it's my turn. Loranna - I have a favor to ask. A huge favor. Queen
Elysana wanted Ciel and me dead. Now she thinks we are dead. That's not the
problem. The problem is that somehow she has the Void Ranger Leseth in her
power. Talk to - talk to Allie for me. I can't face her. And do whatever you

Loranna looked to Ciel when he spoke, and nodded. Then, she looks to Tris, and
for a moment she simply looks at him ...
Then, slowly, she starts to giggle, then chuckle, then lean over and laugh -
and with a sudden yet gentle movement she wraps Tris up in a hug.
"Dear, you've got a perfect sense of timing; well played," she
chuckles, sighing. " ... To be honest, I've been wondering if our favorite

Outside the cabin, Aricyn and the old wolf stand and listen, nodding to

The rough wooden doors on ships weren't a great barrier to trained ears, or the
furry ears of wolves, for that matter. Aricyn felt more comfortable here, where
he knew he was the one listening at the door, not one of the hordes of
two-faced passengers aboard.

Outside, Aricyn was still at the door. Good. That meant no one else had been

Tris leaned on Ciel, seemingly for support, but mostly just for a plausible

Elysana, Queen of Wayrest, had found herself a good position to
watch Allerleirauh. She was forever with one person or another, but when she
was reasonably alone, and there was a time to talk in some privacy, she would
greet the adventurer.
The Queen was not someone to sneak around, forestalling the inevitable. If the
masks must come off, it would be at a moment of her choosing.

packed. He didn't recognize any on this ship, obviously filled with
worshippers. he slipped back into the water to try another ship. 'I wonder
which of these ships is the one I'm looking for. Have to be quick about it he

Reichi, who had nothing to do, had been watching the water. Thusly a eyebrow or

carefully. Trying to figure out what it was.

Allerleirauh still seemed busy, but Elysana spied Faril, walking by himself.

out of the ruins. After that I headed straight to Vivec. Once there I overheard

Perhaps emotions did have a distinct scent, and animals could
smell fear and likewise emotions. Or maybe it seemed that way, that instead of
using only their eyes as ordinary humans and elves did. They used all their
senses in unison to come to read other's emotions, listening smelling, feeling,
seeing, noticing every nuance of change in attitude. Reichi's senses while
untransformed were no where near their height as a werewolf. They were however
better than most normal mer's.
Reichi himself didn't know, But he did notice Teleran's fear. "You okay

Loranna smiles sadly. I know ... but it doesn't work that way, and trying to
make it work that way often just makes a bigger mess, she says, idly
tracing her finger from his shoulder to his elbow.
Things are going to work out; I actually have a plan now, she tells
Dagoth. I just try to take it quiet and slow on the boat ride, find time to
be with you and with Jazbet ... oh yes Jazbet ... and when we get to Vivec I
fight for control to turn myself in. I make some arrangements with Allie and we
all gear up for the big showdown waiting for us.

"You
okay Tel?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure, I'm fine. Perfect, couldn't be better." Teleran trailed
off, "No, I'm not alright, but I don't know what's really wrong.
"Watch this." Teleran said as he threw the daedric daggers into the
water , which hissed in protest as they entered the water. A few seconds later
the daggers appeared back in their sheaths and the voice built in intensity. 'Trapped,
trapped. Biting and tearing and rending, yes, flesh so sweet, blood so red.
Spill it, spill it all!'
"They won't leave me now. And yet, they want escape, to tear to rend to
make a hole through which to flee. Realizing he spoke aloud he stares
listlessly at the deck.

also lighter. They feel like they belong in my hands, twirling blades killing
all they touch. They are something apart, another...being. I do know one thing,
they hate me." Teleran stated numbly.
Then his countenance changed entirely, "They are mine! Mine! Not yours,
They are me!"
Teleran shook his head and looked to Reichi, "I'm sorry, what did you just

Arynel chuckled hearing this, and wove his arms. A lute appeared in the

When you're bored you'll often find
It best to make do with a rhyme
When spending days aboard a ship
It's often good to dance a jig
Or play a song if you are able
As the tavern goers do with tankarts
Awnry as your feet may be
Allow them to stomp merrily

Jazbet pulled himself out of the water, where he had been going for a swim

In a remote little village in far flung High Rock
A handsome young Breton resided
On his talents singing and tending his flock
Opinions were sharply divided.
He would croak his songs like a lisping sload
The sheep thought it was quite a bore.
They baaed, “Oh, no, it's the damned road

In all the world what will you find
Save for a road to leave behind
If you want for something else to sing
Try the story of a string
Golden tied up in a knot
Holding a girl's waxen locks
If you find that too much to dare
Try the story of a mare
Galloping as onward leads
Ever always towards the sea

‘Cross the silvery lake, there sailed a fleet
Towards Vivec they were speedily cruising
Aboard one ship was a Breton and a Khajiit
And the Breton thought the cat un-amusing.
Back and forth, they sang off-key verses
Packed so tight, there was no room to wiggle

OOC: Sorry people, It's been a looong time since I posted, but
real life comes first and I had some things that needed doing. But alas, on
with the show!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary: Phyrdalion elected not to follow the party to Suran for personal
reasons. Mharakin followed him and they both decided to meet the party at
Vivec. Meanwhile, they are busy scouting the city, looking for threats, and
establishing their allies. Phyrdalion spent some time back in Ebonheart,
meeting with Varus Vatinius, arranging for Loranna's arrival. During this time,
Mharakin spoke to his fellows in the Morag Tong, and spoke with Mephala
herself, receiving her personal will. He was also equipped with a powerful compound
bow, enchanted arrows, and a new helmet. After assuring limited Imperial
interference, Phyrdalion returned to Vivec and spoke with the fighter's guild
about hiring some mercenaries. This is where we find him.
"Two hundred septims for each spearman, two hundred and fifty for each
archer, and three hundred for each heavyman. That's the best offer I can give
you. Each one has their own equipping, and we have given them the blue tabards
as per your instructions. They look as fine as any member of the legion, and
will fight twice as well. It comes out to a total of ten thousand septims, as
we have added the cost of the tabards, flags, horns, trumpets, and drums. I'm
not sure what you have in mind, but I trust you. Take good care of my
men." the Orc finished scrawling orders on a piece of paper and handed it
to Phyrdalion.
Phyrdalion looked it over "Twenty spears, twelve bows, eight shields,
looks about right. And here's your payment. I will provide double each
soldier's worth if they do not make it back." Phyrdalion reached in his
sack for more gold, and handed it to the Orc. "Good day, I must go now,
make sure they are all present and in uniform by tomorrow."
"Of course. They will meet you on the hill between the strider and the
ship, uniformed and ready for action." the Orc smiled, showing grotesque
yellow fangs.
Phyrdalion nodded and walked off, his white cape trailing behind him. He walked
into the canton, and looked around for Mharakin. He noticed the Dunmer sitting
along the edge of one of the planters looking deeply into a strange jewel. It
was a black jewel, but the black seemed to swirl and reflect the light oddly.
Phyrdalion put his large white hand on the Dunmer's shoulder. Mharakin jumped
