Hello, and welcome to our Elder Scrolls Role Playing threads,
where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
This is an 'open roleplay' and everyone is encouraged to join in at any time!
'Open' roleplay does not mean 'unorganized' or 'limitless', however. The events
in this story are usually planned, and if something BIG happens, you can be
certain that it is the result of much discussion between players, usually in
the mIRC chat (#Loranna_RP). This is not just a bunch of disorganized
individuals doing what they think would be fun for their character at the time.
So, while everyone is welcome to join in, they are NOT welcome to jump in and
do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING IT FIRST. Let me be very clear
about what cannot be done without permission:
1:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
2:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political (converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
Everyone who is involved in the RP is welcome in the mIRC chat channel #Loranna_RP.
If you have a plot idea then you are encouraged to go there and discuss it. If
you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player whos character
you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them using this board's
PM function. That's what it's there for.
For information on reaching #Loranna_RP via Mirc or Chatspike, look
http://www.ravensky.org/irc/.
Not following the above advice will only result in one thing: your post is
likely to be completely ignored by everyone as if it did not happen. This is
obvously not good for anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing
them.
Remember: Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before
they're revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards
they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them.
Thank you, and have fun!

Shai smiled, well, shyly. "I'm not really sure how I feel
about him. Things are happening so fast and when I try to talk to him I lose
control of my tongue and I just confuse him, even hurt him."
She leaned forward intently. "You have Jazbet, and others who would die to
be in his place. How do you do it?"

Listening to the conversation, Arynel frowned. The Breton turned and walked off
on his own.

I was scared to let such a nice, sweet man get tangled in the mess I was
causing."
"But I do understand things happening fast; so much nowadays seems to
happen faster than we can fully realize," she continues, relaxing a bit.
"First questions then; what do you think you feel for him, and have you
ever had feelings like that for someone before?"

"Hmm ..." Loranna says, thinking.
"Well, feelings like this aren't something one just handles, in my
experience," Loranna says. "And by that, I mean you can't just say
'Well, I'd rather not feel this way,' or 'Well, I'd like to find someone to
fall in love with'. They just happen, and it's not always a given that the
person you feel attracted to is going to be the right one for you. I've felt
attraction for other men before Jazbet but none of them were the one I'd be
best with, ultimately."
"The best advise I can give ... huh; definitely try talking to him about how
you feel, see if he recriprocates at all. The only way to understand your
feelings for him better is to get to know him better, and let him get to know
you better. It can hurt though, even if it's meant to be."
Loranna thinks to herself I'm not doing as well at this as I'd hope ...

Shai nodded. "I'll think about that."
She paused.
"Not right now, though! I am not going over there right now!"
Posted by: Teleran Mar 7 2005, 08:51 AM
Teleran looked across the room and saw Loranna and Shai sitting
together talking. He went over the healing spell one more time as he walked
over to a nearby empty table. He sat down and rested his ‘arm’ on the table. He
started going through the casting and felt the arm go limp as his telekinesis
stopped holding it, it was braced against his body and the table for the moment
so there was no overt sign that anything had changed. He felt the healing wash
over him; he had not succeeded in changing the target.
He tried again without actually casting this time. Better, he did not feel the
inward pull that he had felt earlier. He cast again, this time he aimed the
healing bolt for Shai; it was easier for some reason, trying to heal her. He
cast the spell and blanched as it left his fingers. He had forgotten that
spells were visible as they headed for a target.

Loranna looks mildly surprised at Shai's outburst.
"Dear?" she asks, just as a blue bolt of restoration magic sails
across the room and tags Shai.
Loranna turns to fix Teleran with a glare, ignoring for the moment anyone else
who is probably also glaring at the blue-eyed Dunmer for tossing spells around
an Imperial garrison.
Posted by: Tricrux Mar 7 2005, 08:55 AM
Reflex took over. Shai saw the blue light heading towards her
and acted. She dove out of her seat, knocking Loranna out of the way. Spinning,
she grabbed the first available weapon, a fork, and threw it at the light's
source.
Then she saw who it was.

"All right, hold it!" Loranna says forcefully, getting up and
grabbing Shai's wrist. "Dear, it was a Restoration spell, not a damaging
one."
By now the ruckus was attracting attention; Loranna's ashen cheeks start to
turn crimson. Why, WHY can we not spend a night in a new place without
causing some sort of scene!?
Posted by: Teleran Mar 7 2005, 09:05 AM
Teleran smiled weakly as he pulled himself from the floor where
he lay after throwing himself out of the way of the fork. He had regained his
ability to manipulate it before it had gotten too far past him and it lay on
the next table back now. His arm lay where he had left it, still on the table.
He looked up tentatively, and apologized as he tried to explain that it was
just a healing spell, quite harmless, and not even that strong of one. He
walked over to where Loranna and Shai were as his arm returned to its usual
place, and tried to apologise but found that words were having a much harder
time coming together coherently, “I was just trying to, I mean, it was just,
I’m sorry.”

Don't you even try it..."
Loranna smiles warmly at Teleran. "I understand dear; you just wanted to
practice something new," she says, looking very forgiving and caring.
"And if you ever pull a stunt like that again," she continues
amicably, "I will personally kick the contents of your sack up into your
skull, then smack you vigorously to rattle them around a bit."
She sighs, looking tired. "Dear, please - when in a public place, stick to
the self-affecitng cantrips for practice? Please? Before someone other than one
of us decides to rip your head off?"
Looking at Shai, Loranna says " ... Um, Teleran doesn't know that sort of
magic dear; at best he knows how to heal papercuts ..."

Teleran gulped at Loranna’s threat, he was reasonably sure she
wouldn’t actually try to carry it out. He nodded quickly at her advice to stick
to self-affecting spells, it sounded like a much safer course.
“I’m sorry Shai, I was just trying to make you feel better, you seemed pretty
nervous about something, I figured maybe a balm would help.” He looked at the

An Ancestral tomb-
“Help…with what?” He asked quickly, trying to sound intelligible and witty. The
snickering of vampires caused him to think that it didn’t pay off.
“Well…with this.” The Redguard replied, gesturing around the room. Passing many
vampires, many of them dressed in full suits of armour. Not particularly good
armour, but they looked as if they were ready for a fight. “We are forming an
alliance, so far however…it isn’t going too great. We could definitely use the
help of one, if not all the clans.”
“Wait…you mean this isn’t one of the clans?”
“Of course not! You think that any of the clan members would be hanging out in
a dingy little place like this?”
Illidan paused a long moment, before answering. “Well…no, I just assumed that-“
“Great!” He interjected quickly, placing a hand on Illidan’s shoulder. “We’re
actually planning on getting the help of Quarra first. One…I used to be one of
them, probably not the best way of making an offer but it’s worth a shot.
Two…they’re headquarters are the closest to our position, hopefully Azurites
haven’t cleared the damn place out yet.”
“Well…we should probably head out real soon then, shouldn’t we?”
“We? Glad to hear you’ve considered yourself one of the team so quickly Mr.…?”
“Illidan” He stated coolly, winking at the Redguard. “And you would be...?”
“Janis” He answered, just as coolly.
There was a long awkward silence. The vampires around them began to yawn and
cough. “Well…we probably should get going now, shouldn’t we?” Illidan asked
quickly, in an effort to break the silence.
“Yes, yes. Of course, let’s go.” The Redguard motioned to two other vampires,
both looking fairly battle hardened and well equipped. The four ascended the
stairs and left. They began the walk to Druscashti.

of hearths, when outside there is the sun, of which the hearth is only an

"If the sun is outside, then I think it best to open the door."
Arynel said. "Tell me, then, where is it, so that I may open it?"
The Breton tapped his foot.
"You would say I know already, I think. Perhaps I do, though I am unsure,
or perhaps afraid to say."

The upstairs door to Cyndarius's chambers swung open, and the
sound of the two brothers' laughter instantly filled the garrison.
They came downstairs, arms around each other's shoulders; Aricyn taller,
Cyndarius broader, long white hair, short gold hair, snowy skin, warm pink
skin, and rosy cheeks for all.
They stopped when they noticed everyone in the garrison's common room, chatting
away.
"What," said Aricyn to his friends. "You all are still
awake?"
"I hope it's because you're enjoying good company," Cyndarius said,
"and not that your beds were so hard you couldn't sleep."
Both men laughed and found themselves seats.

Or the sun, perhaps, Magnus bright
Be placed, so delicately, in an eye?
So is an eye, unveiled and yet not blinded,
And what of I, another footstep pondered?
All fibers call this thing surrender,

Betray me, the dam can no longer

It was Allerleirauh's turn to be without words. Thoughts flitted at the edge of

Cyndarius said, "That'd make for a lot of stories... Well, at least on

He smiled at the look on Loranna's face.
"Everyone always wants to know how that happened. Aricyn's story, I'll let
him tell. Mine's pretty simple, really. My parents live in Colovia. They've got
a nice little dairy farm there now. It doesn't look like much, but home is
always better on the inside than on the out.
"Making a short story shorter, my parents found me in a hollow tree one

He laughed again. It was an action that seemed to come easily to the man.
"No, that's not just something they told me as a little boy, it's the
Emperor's truth. My dad said he heard this crying while he was gathering wood,
and he looked in the stump and there I was, so he ran to get Mom and show her
the baby. Well, she says she took me right home and by the end of the day they

"So, I grew up there, tending the farm. We didn't have cows, then, just a

"Eventually I joined the Guard, and so I ended up here.

Ald Raathim, a hill…which just happens to have a tree on it-
Dante span in a circle, cleaving the air around him as he did. His ‘new’ sword
seemed to have become heavier, much heavier. He lifted the sword above his
head, using both hands, something he rarely did because he needed to do it. He
brought the sword down again, and stopped it just before it struck the ground.
He raised the sword again, this time hoisting it out in front of himself, in a
defensive posture. He made some false parries with his blade then turned, 180
degrees, and lashed out with his sword. Only to have it hit a tree.
Instead of imbedding itself in the stump, the sword merely bounced off, leaving
no noticeable marks on the stump. And just happened to jar Dante’s arm, a large
cry falls over the town as Dante falls to a knee. All the while clutching his
arm.
Once he had regained his composure, and examined the blade more closely. He
discovered that his sword was now blunt as a hammer.
I’m going to have to get Aricyn to do that sharpening trick again once he
gets back…

"Such an interesting mechanism," he mumbled to himself.
Then with a soft sigh, he steps off of the stones of the freed town and lands
gently on the water below, a faint purple glow shimmering over the soles of his

"sometimes they're just a story about a cow."
"Sometimes..." Cyndarius agreed, with a wink at Loranna.

Jazbet, have I someone for you to meet when you finally wake, she thinks
to herself. Someone who may be able to help you with realizing your earlier
hopes of integrating Azurites with others someday, and someone who will bring
many a happy smile to both our lips.
... Sweet Jazbet, please be all right. Please be awake and waiting for your
silly, wandering bride-to-be when we get back home.
... So, what poles can we start putting back up, while we wait to hear from our
spy ...
"It's a good story nonetheless," she says, winking back at Cyndarius.

A lone figure strode towards Ald Raathim and being met by a
guard patrol. The guards drew their swords when they saw the Dunmer, however,
he didn't draw his. The insignia of Helset was clearly marked on his armour.
"I have a message to deliver to whoever is in charge here." He said.
"And it is quite urgent."

Allerleirauh:
To become anything is to surrender the everything; but to embody any one
thing completely is to partake of all things.
This is the Mystery, and the wonder, and the Mastery, and the majesty, and the
Mercy, and the heart's delight.
Drink deep, sink deep, sun of my soul. This is my paradox: the path to the
summit leads into the uttermost depths.
At the bottom of the well, I give you wings.

Summary
Reichi, Eya and Raddin are in the garrison with everyone else...
Dar'var is prolly out of the story again, as a more reliable spy has been
chosen, hes prolly gonna get high on Moon sugar and wait for the world to go
*BOOM*
Tohe meanwhile, is wondering around Ald Raathim and Jazbet's estate, trying
become un-bored.
--------------------------
Raddin had gone off to find a armorer, to find and refinish his armor, the
current repair was rather jury-rigged. That was the thing about the armor
though, it was built for taking a Werebeast's claws and staying in one peice,
something even matriels like Daedric couldn't do for very long, so repairs were
expensive, mostly he had gone off to get the necessary matriels to repair the
armor.
Reichi and Eya were left at a table in the Jazra garrison, watching the group
as they talked amongst themselves. "So, why'd you become one?" Reichi
asked at last, Eya smiled faintly.
"I know, its odd, but i wasn't really thinking i suspose. The place i
learned unarmed combat was The Temple of Two-Moons Dance in Torval. There was a
book relating to it i think i've read, Something about some servant who managed
to best a actual student of the place in combat," Eya replied. "I was
the best student there that year, i won in the Arena, and left. Perhaps i let
my victory go to my head, but i wanted to be more powerful, and what is a
powerful creature one can become that exclusively using 'unarmed' combat?"
"A Werewolf, so i searched for one, and found Tohe in Morrowind. The boy's
numerous scars should have warned me, heh, im a fool, all i saw was that i
could become better, i saw only the pros, and none of the cons. I figured out
what he was because the full moon was coming up, he acted so nervous, glancing
up at the sky...."
"When i saw him flee into the wilderness as the sun set, i knew i had my
Werewolf. So, the next day i took the next step on my percieved path to
strength, i asked him to pass the curse to me, which he did. By the next full
moon i learned that while Werewolves were granted great power, it drove one
nearly to madness with hunger,
such is not how a true warrior fights, both mind and body must be equal in
strength, one cannot substitute entirely for the other. "
"Over time, i have been learning to harness it, like you have. Not to your
skill, not yet." Eya finished her tale. Reichi smirked. "I haven't
even got it fully under control, i've had help from a book, one thats now lost
in Balmora, in the Morag Tong Guildhall. I hope if we pass through there, i
could find it, such a tome is one of a kind..." he replied.
"Azurites prolly burned the hall though, Morag Tong worship Mephala, not
Azura."

Freetown
Despite enjoying the company, sleep eventually beckoned to Loranna and so she
retired for the night, her dreams, as usual, featuring the giantess - this
time, though, before crushing Loranna down to nothingness, the giantess laughed
and casually tore apart a small bundle, sending tiny little bones flying every
which way ...
Waking up with her usual gasping for air, Loranna turned to her journal to
clear her mind ...
===
By early morning, Loranna finishes writing in her journal and gets up,
stretching a bit. Catching up on her journal writing and practicing her
illusion cantrips had kept her occupied for a while, but there had been
something nagging on the edge of her mind since she went to bed, which now
finally crystalized, and so now she starts looking for Aricyn.

Outside, high over the streets of Freetown, the clocktower rang
out the hour of six.
Cyndarius had been up for some time already, and sat, wearing most of his
uniform, at the end of the garrison's long oaken table, eating a huge
breakfast.
Although Aricyn was not in the room, the old grizzled wolf sat happily with his
head in Cyndarius's lap.
Over breakfast, a number of townsfolk came and went. Each one, or little group,
stood, hats in hand, near the table and discussed whatever problem they had
with Cyndarius.
There was a minor dispute over a neighbor's dog, a major dispute over allocated
warehouse space on the docks, and all sorts in between. Cyndarius listened
patiently to each person, asked a few questions, and gave what he thought of as
advice. All concerned considered his words more of a judgement set in stone,
and everyone walked away happy with the outcome.
People approached Cyndarius this way through his day, but they had learned that
breakfast was one of the few times he was sitting still in one place and could
be easily found.
For his part, Cyndarius would have been lonely at breakfast without the
company.
*
Away from his brother for the first time since they had arrived, Aricyn stood
alone on the garrison battlements, feeling the wind in his hair.

Loranna passes by the breakfast table and feels her tummy growl a little. She
pauses for a moment, watching, debating wether to grab something for herself,
and thus sees Cyndarius talking to people.
After a moment, Loranna turns away, her tummy no longer quite so strident about
wanting food. Her urge to talk to Aricyn had gotten stronger.
She finds Aricyn after a few moments of searching and asking people if they had
seen the white-haired Nord warrior, and she approaches Aricyn, looking determined.
" ... I've been thinking," she says by way of introduction.
"I've a couple of things I wish to ask of you."

tiny-but-growing city could be seen.

Freetown: Tris
Tris had been watching Cyndarius ever since they arrived, and listening to talk
about him. Watching people was a habit he'd gotten into as a spy - well, before
that, really.
He wondered where Solin had run off to. Solin might have been interested by
what he knew about Cyndarius. Not the sort of thing Tris could share with Ciel;
too much Void Ranger talk only upset Ciel.
After breakfast Cyndarius went out into the exercise yard. This was where he
had, according to his men, whipped the garrison from a bunch of misfits posted
to a backwater, into one of the most deadly fighting forces in Tamriel. Tris
watched the training idly. The big blonde Captain was a good fighter, but that
wasn't what made him a good teacher. He was a good teacher because of his
infinite supply of good nature.
When the training was finished, Cyndarius strode into town. It occurred to Tris
that they would be leaving soon, and that he wanted to talk to him. On impulse
he followed the man.
"We met last night," Tris said. "I didn't tell you, we have an
acquaintance in common. Allerleirauh. You met her when you'd just joined the
Guard, I believe. Are you too busy to talk?"

"I knew a man with a horse, once... lived near our farm. He raised bees,
and every week he took the honey in and sold it in town.

Shai
Shai awoke earlier than the rest of the party and meditated for a few hours
before feeling adequately purified of emotion to leave. A curiosity to see the
world guided her, and she wandered back into the Lion's Shade. It was so early
that the late night customers were still in. One, a fat slobbering man well
beyond his prime, came over and began to grunt at her suggestively. Obviously
drunk.
It was only a few seconds before she had him down and disabled. An old man came
over to her corner of the tavern. There was a youthful light in his eyes.
"You are well-trained, child," he whispered.
They started to talk about the world and life and meditation and war.
Celeste
Celeste had more control over herself than some Azurites did. That was what
fueled her raw ambition. Made her dangerous. Volatile. But of course there was
the deepest uncontrollable level of consciousness that haunted her still. A
messenger came to the door of her tent. "Ladyship, a prisoner!"
After years of practice, Celeste had become quite adept at donning her heavy
armor. Almost instantaneously she was outfitted and armed with a Dai-Katana.
Something she had bought from the spoils of that last theft with her
ex-fiancee. She had thought him dead for some time, before she had seen him
entering Ald Raathim. She had gone to find him, but had not heard back in
months.
She hurried towards the prisoner with her sword drawn and her arms raised,
ready to swing.
Marein
Night-Scar had arrived at the Azurite camp with a hooded robe over his head and
determination in his eyes. As he stepped into the hidden clearing he was
immediately captured and reported. Tied against a tree, he waited. Soon after,
a man clad in heavy armor from top to bottom ran towards him with a raised
Dai-Katana. Slowly, Marein lifted his hand up to his forehead and touched the
sapphire jewel of the circlet, ready to shoot.

Teleran got a quick bite in the garrison before heading off into
the city. He was lost a few moments later. Within ten minutes or so he found
himself in front of the Lion’s Shade quite by accident. He entered and
apologised to the owner for the scene he had caused last night. He spied Shai
sitting in the corner talking to an old man about life, meditation and other
topics Teleran usually tried to avoid. Nearby a rather large man was being
cleared away, it looked like he had gotten jumped at some point, although the
lack of care being paid to his comfort by those moving him suggested that it
had been his own fault.
He walked over to Shai and interjected softly, “I always thought meditation was
just a waste of time better spent sleeping. Did you find yourself another
teacher Shai?”
Posted by: Tricrux Mar 8 2005, 06:48 AM
The old man caught the glint in Shai's eye and bowed his head,
returned to his own opposite corner of the room. Shai turned to look at
Teleran. "A new teacher? Hardly. There will never be another Teacher. A
partner in learning, though, perhaps."
"Have you ever even tried meditation?"
Posted by: Teleran Mar 8 2005, 07:01 AM
“Tried it a few times, it is good if you can’t get to sleep and
need to relax. Usually just pretended to when I was told to though, I used that
time much more effectively in my opinion. None of the teachers could find
tranquility after a few minutes,” Teleran smiled disarmingly. “Not that I was
thinking of doing anything to disrupt your meditations, Shai.”

tranquility after a few minutes,” Teleran smiled disarmingly. “Not that I was
thinking of doing anything to disrupt your meditations, Shai.”
She was instantly disarmed. "You wouldn't. Come on, let's go for a
walk."
They rose from the table and walked out into Freetown. She led him along the
streets for a while, pointing out interesting sites.
A few hours passed without their noticing. Shai nibbled on the sweet treat he
had bought her, holding it in her hand and taking small bites. From the corner
of her eye, she saw a street vendor waving his arms animatedly and dancing for
the crowds. With one hand occupied, she tried to use her other to point it out
to him.
Then she realized suddenly that that hand was wrapped around his, and she
smiled.

Teleran smiled to himself and lost track of the time as they
walked through the streets of Freetown. Some time later, he began to recognize
the streets and realized they were near the garrison. He steered towards the
garrison. “It’s nice to be able to walk like this,” He said wistfully. “I hope
that we solved whatever problems existed earlier, would you like to go for a
walk through Ald Raathim, when we get back? Maybe you could even teach me how
meditation is supposed to work.” He said lightly. On impulse he leaned over and
kissed her as they entered the fort. He spied Loranna and Aricyn as he straightened
and flushed when he saw them.

Loranna had been bidding Cyndarius a fond farewell, and turns as she hears
Teleran and Shai enter. Oddly, she's smiling.
"Oh good; I see you figured out my earlier advice was lacking," she
says, laughing a little. "Sorry dears; I'll try to be better next time you
ask me a question, I promise. For right now though - the boat's waiting and Ald
Raathim's not getting any younger. Hussle! But say goodbye to our gracious host
first."
Soon, the party boards their boat to embark on their journey back home, and
Loranna watches as Freetown receeds on the horizon, sighing to herself and
hoping the feeling of excited fear in her chest is a good sign, rather than a
portent of ill times to come.

Nalion stood at the bow railing of the ship as they left the
harbour of Freetown. The light breeze from the sea rippled his cloak and robe
and tugged at his hood which he had drawn up over his head. The wind seemed to
carry an air of change with it. The mages' arms were folded across his chest as
he gazed over the calm waves as the vessel plowed through the salty water,
heading for the mainland.
He hadn't seen half as much as he wanted of Freetown in the short time they
spent there nor had he really found time to explore the city by himself. It
seemed a good place to stay, especially with someone like Cyndarius
"running" it. It was a trip he intended to do once more when times
were more peaceful... if the times would become more peaceful. He furrowed his
brow.
His thoughts went back to his short conversation with Doll the other day. She
was right in a way. Time was slipping through their fingers, time that was necessary
to plot, prepare and stage their actions... The enemy was not idle either.
Hogithum was near. Hogithum, the word sent a shiver down his spine. He would be
there, for good or ill, whether darkness fell upon them or a new sun would be
rising, he would stand side by side with his friends.
He shot a glance at Loranna who was watching Freetown fade out of view and gave
her a smile, then he retreated back below deck. He'd have to think some more on
diverse matters.

Reichi watched as Freetown faded from the horizon, his face a
emotionless mask. He smirked when he turned, as he caught a glimpse of Red
mountain. "The Azurite leader just can't affor dto not be cliche' i
suspose..." he mutter himself, the smirk turning into a grin. "Always
with the ominous volcanos..."
Eya and Raddin were chatting off on the other side of the boat, Raddin's armor
was repaired and now has a glossier black color, with gold trim. Reichi
remebered he still only had chitin armor. "Oi...note to self, procure good
armor..." he muttered.
---------------
Sadene Ules and Dar'var had set out earlier on a smaller boat. Sadene was to be
the real spy, and Dar'var her guard. Of course, being the Dar'var didn't have a
belt he had to be kept in the dark about things.
Infact, Sadene had been given a goodly amount of Moon Sugar and Skooma to keep
Dar'var's brain befuddled, and incapable of giving them away. Dar'var was there
for in case anything went wrong, which Sadene hoped didn't happen, she was only
a farmer, she had no combat skill, but she wouldn't let that stop her from
doing her job.
"Red Mountain so dreary...." Dar'var muttered.

Marein
He brushed the jewel, and allowed his hand to move away. The crown began to
throb and warm, and if his back had been exposed it would have been glowing.
The armor-clad warrior continued to advance with a raised sword.
The crown fired. The force of the burst slammed Marein further back into the
tree. It was the warrior, however, who took the actual blast of shock magic.
Celeste
The spell permeated her armor and her body, frying her nerves and causing her
to go limp in her tracks. Five Azurites instantly appeared at her side, ripping
off her helm and cuirass, feeling for pulses and casting magic. The rest of the
camp present, twenty or so Azurites, turned angrily to the prisoner.
Marein
He was tied to a tree, with twenty vicious-looking peasants approaching him.
They formed a grim circle around him and then, in unison, summoned their
Twilight servants. The high-pitched shrieks shattered his eardrums.
Shai
The shrieks of the Winged Twilights could be heard from anywhere in the woods -
and Shai, like before, had gotten up early to go a-wandering. She was a good
seven miles away from Raathim when she heard the noise, too far for anyone back
at the castle to hear and deal with.
She broke into a run. Soon she came to the tucked-away clearing, easily led
their by the noise. She recognized the man tied to the tree as one of the party's,
and tried to figure out what to do. The trouble was, it was 45 to 1. Nobody
could handle that. Perhaps they could if they had the absolute power that could
be harvested from agile muscles and serenity in the face of adversity, but
already she was panicking to some extent.
It looked like there was no way.

Druscashti-
“Well…from the outside it certainly looks safe enough.” Remarked one of the
armoured vampires, which had accompanied Illidan and Janis on their trip.
“Right…well, from my experience, a lot of things look safe from the outside.”
Replied Janis, glaring back at the vampire. The four entered the dwemer ruins,
the heavy doors creaking loudly as they opened them.
It was empty…from what they could see at least. Though there were traces of
blood on the wall. Janis nodded to one of the armoured vampires, which resulted
in the creature walking over to the wall, collecting a small amount of blood
and sampling it. Much to the disgust of the vampire, “Azurite…” He muttered.
“Well…that’s a good sign, right?” Illidan asked, beginning to make his way down
the old corridor. Janis and the two figures followed closely behind, probably
not the best order for them to be venturing into a strange place. But, Illidan
was fresh meat after all.
“Wait…you smell that?” Janis asked, placing a hand on Illidan’s shoulder and
taking a couple large sniffs of the air. Illidan joined in, standing on the
balls of his feet to hoist himself slightly higher.
“Yeah…smells like somebody’s started a fire down here” Illidan remarked,
returning to his normal stance, and rounding a corner.
The smell of an old fire became more distinct, along with that of burnt
corpses. Then…they discovered it, a small pile of stripped bodies, missing a
lot of their flesh. It was impossible to tell whom they belonged to.
“We may as well search the rest of this place, you never know…they could belong
to the Azurites.” Janis said encouragingly, walking over to a set of dwemer
doors and attempting to push them open…nothing.
“Something’s blocking it from the other side.” He remarked, stepping back and
rubbing his hands together, as if to remove the dirt from them. Illidan
approached the door.
“Maybe Quarra are still down here.” Illidan said, somewhat relieved, he
preceded to bang on the heavy iron doors, loudly. He got no
answer…unsurprisingly. “Um…hello? Is there anyone in there? We could kind of
use your help with something.”
There was a long moments silence, shortly broken by a voice beyond the door.
“What is it you want?”
Illidan turned back to Janis and the two vampires and smiled.
Posted by: w0nders Mar 9 2005, 07:53 AM
Druscashti-
Illidan didn’t really have an answer to that question. “Well…it’s not the sort
of thing somebody says through a door.”
“Yes…it’s a rather touchy subject to discuss.” Janis added, stepping beside
Illidan, as if sizing himself up to the door. There was another long silence.
The silence was broken as a vampiric Imperial voice came from the room, “Janis?
Is that you?” Another awkward silence ensued.
“Um…yes?” He answered, acting rather confused. But Illidan could tell what was
going on, he could see it in his eyes. And reading a vampire’s emotions through
his eyes was no simple task.
There was some laughter coming from the room. “Open the door!” The Imperial
vampire yelled. And the clattering of many random objects could be heard,
followed closely by the creaking noise of the opening doors.
It was quite a large room, large, but rather empty. At one edge of the room
there sat an Imperial woman. The one who had been shouting through the door.
Around the room were a large number of vampires, many of them wearing fine
armour and wielding fine weapons, from what they could see, at least. Perhaps
they had stolen them from the Azurites they had killed and burnt.
The two armoured vampires remained where they were once entering the room.
Looking rather nervous around the vampires of Quarra, as they were of no
particular clan themselves. Illidan and Janis approached the table, vampires
stifling laughs as the two of them past.
“Volrina.” Janis muttered, placing his hands down on the table, gently. Volrina
Quarra, head of the Quarra bloodline lent back in her chair, and crossed her
arms.
“Janis…it’s been a long time, what happened to you after you lost that duel,
eh? It was a shame to of had you leave, but…rules are rules, and you just
couldn’t cut it.”
Janis cringed, “I…did things, mostly alone. But as of late I have gathered many
vampires not far from here.”
“Oh really? I take it you’ve probably got yourself quite the little group
there, eh? What was your purpose in gathering all of them?”
“Well…mostly protection. Y’know…from Azurites, it’s sort of a…resistance.” His
tone became very quiet as he spoke the last line.
Volrina grinned, “I see…and I take it this is why you’ve also come here, is
it?”
“Well…yeah, we could use help, and who better then Quarra? You do have the
strongest warriors, right?” Janis began to smirk as he said this.
“Of course…”
Posted by: w0nders Mar 9 2005, 07:57 AM
Druscashti-
“Then you’ll help?” He asked, biting his lip as he awaited an answer.
“I don’t necessarily see a good enough reason too. It seems that our best
chance of survival right now is too hide ourselves away. It seems rather
frivolous to form some sort of ‘resistance’ as you put it and go off and
battle. Seeing as we can only fight at night. Our skills could probably best be
used alongside another force, a force that can survive in the sunlight. Tell
me…do you know of such an army?”
There was a long silence; it took a moment for the thought to finally strike
Illidan. “I…I know of someone. Though they are far away, and might be a little
troubled with this idea. Still…they do have many skilled warriors among them.”
“Hm…I see, well, that puts a whole new perspective on the situation. Where is
this place, Dunmer?”
“Ald Raathim, on the mainland.”
“That is rather far, but…if we leave tomorrow night, we can probably make it
there in a couple of days…”
Janis’ face lit up, as much as a vampire’s could at least. “Great, but that
sought of leaves out the plan of getting the other clans help.”
Volrina tilted her head back and laughed, very loudly. “Don’t bother…” she
began, “Berne is practically in ruins, and Aundae is on their way there, too.”
“Huh? How could you possibly know that?” Janis asked, furrowing his brow.
“Well…not too long ago, we actually got a messenger from Berne, requesting
help. Not a good idea, those fools actually forgot about the feud between the
clans. At the time, we knew little of the Azurite threat and discarded it
quickly, seeing it as a trap of some sort. You know how Berne are, always
sneaking around in the shadows, never taking a direct approach on things.”
Janis let the information sink in. “And what about Aundae?”
“Oh…that was just an assumption. If they did find the Aundae headquarters I
doubt they’d put up much of a resistance. They rely on their magic as if it
were a crutch. Take that crutch away, and they will fall, simple as that.”
“Well…couldn’t your theory on Berne also be an assumption?” Janis asked.
“Yes, of course, but that has more information going towards it’s conclusion. I
don’t doubt for a second that Berne has survived. Doubts can lead to your
demise in the end.”
Illidan spoke in an attempt to change the subject. “Well…it’s good that you’ve
decided to help at least, you should gather as much armour and weapons as you
can though. The vampires back at the ancestral tomb are rather strapped for
equipment…as am I.” Illidan said.
“Yes, yes. Of course, we will depart very shortly. We will supply you all with
as much equipment as possible. Now, let’s gather our things and go! We must be
at the tomb before day break.” After a moments silence, vampires began to
gather weapons and armour that was lying around. Along with some scrolls and
potions. Illidan found himself being poked in the torso with many forms of
armour, netch…chitin…and even some glass. He would equip it shortly, he wasn’t
too great when it came to armour, but at least it was light.

Ald Raathim: Allerleirauh
Ald Raathim had a stable for horses now, next to the stable for parraptons.
Allerleirauh had been using her alchemical knowledge to help the Nords from Aricyn's
village figure out which kinds of the unfamiliar foliage of Morrowind were
edible to horses and which were deadly.
As far as Allerleirauh was able to tell, her judgement had been correct. No
colics today, just happy, healthy little furry ponies, scratching themselves on
every available surface in an orgy of itching, trying to shed the heavy coat of
Skyrim now that they were in the warmer land of Morrowind.
Allerleirauh's duty was done, and she could have left the stable; but she was
happy, and so she indulged herself in shoveling, and currying, all the things
she loved most to do.
She also sang, like a lark. She sang a song about birds greeting the sun's
first light.
Magnilde, Aricyn's generously endowed lover, paused to stare at the singing
woman. Magnilde had picked a quarrel with Allerleirauh on her first day in Ald
Raathim, telling the other Nord woman to stay away from Aricyn. Allerleirauh
had assured Magnilde that she already had a lover. Magnilde had doubted her.
"Maybe she does have a lover," Magnilde said to herself.

Ald Raathim:
Arynel left the library and made his way into the woods near Jazbet’s estate.
His stride was easy and a smile was stuck like a magnet to his face. The Breton
noted the scribs and rats, how they scurried about, he noticed the ground and
the trees that grew out of it and the sky they reached for.
The Breton took a seat on a large rock, and slowly let out a breath of air, and
with it came a bit of verse:
Memorial recollections of bliss beyond memory
Swelling up like a spring
While shattered fragments of death and dreams
And hopes long thought dead
Fall together into an insoluble
Perplexion whose enigma
Becomes an unfolded path towards further
Wanderings

Shai remembered suddenly something that Teleran had told her
once, about fighting.
She let herself go, for the first time in her life. She could feel herself
sinking into deeper and simpler layers of consciousness, new and numerous.
The number of enemies was not a problem. "Enemy" was just a concept,
after all. All these people and creatures were no problem...
And then she stopped thinking entirely, and just acted.
It took none of the fancy stuntwork she normally did. The fighting was easy and
straightforward. It wasn't her style, but her speed. She was a blur of fists
and feet. The circle of Azurites parted in terror.
In that moment, Celeste's eyes fluttered open and Marein cut through his bonds.
They made eye contact, and she recognized him instantly. She ordered the
Azurites to stop.
Shai just sat there, lost deep inside her own mind, as Marein and Celeste
disappeared into the tent to reminisce, share, talk...

Ald Raathim
The trip back from Freetown had been uneventful, though Loranna had been
saddened to discover that Jazbet had not yet awakened from his coma. She tended
to him as best she could, but there came a point when she had to admit all she
could really do now was hope - and, with Hogithum growing closer and closer,
hope was starting to grow harder to hold onto, despite her confidence while
back in Freetown that things would, somehow, work out, one way or another.
She tried studying magic and alchemy, putting the harsh lessons learned from
her encounters in Gemin and with the Daedra champion to use. She tried
practicing with her sword when she felt a need to move around more - she'd need
to track down Reichi soon and ask for some shortblade tips - and finally she
tried just walking around the grounds when the workout wasn't quite helping her
relax.
The sound of singing from the stables catches Loranna's ear, and she follows
the sound. Entering the stables, she sees Allie, looking happy.
"Hi," Loranna says, smiling a bit; it was good to see Allie looking
cheerful. "You sound radiant today."

Just Outside of Ald Raathim
Didryn looked over his shoulder, just in order to make sure the Azurites were
not still following him, though he knew that each person to enter Ald Raathim
is checked thoroughly before allowed in. He had fled his village when it was
overtaken by them. He hated himself for it, but he had to leave anyway. There
were too many bad memories that lay there. The bloodthirsty bastards would
probably defile the graves and destroy the bodies, anyway. He looked ahead, to
the arches through which he must pass to enter Ald Raathim, where he planned to
take refuge from the Azurites. Finally. As he walked through the arches, he
decided he would look around before he found a place to set up a refugee tent.
He walked aimlessly in the port city for what seemed like hours, and while
walking past the Mage's Guild, runs into a Dunmer with blue eyes and is knocked
to the ground.
Posted by: Tricrux Mar 10 2005, 04:54 AM
Marein and Celeste emerged from the tent looking overjoyed.
"Servants of Azura, may it live forever, hear me now!" she
proclaimed. "I will give your command to a messenger from Alandro Sul
himself, Tharivor!"
The Azurites all cheered.
Celeste and Marein then began the long hike home, happily. As the border
approached, Celeste said her farewells, and turned to head off to Red Mountain.
Shai, still in her freed state, dashed past them, and made the run in under 35
minutes. As she was she didn't even feel the pain and realize that she was
slashed across her face, chest, arms, and legs, bleeding profusely.

QUOTE(Jakut @ Mar 9 2005, 06:27 PM)
"Oh, Sorry, are you alright?" Teleran offered to help the Dunmer back
up. "Not hurt are you?"
Noticing the shock in the Dunmer's eyes he added, "Not an Azurite I assure
you, the border guards do a good job keeping them out. I see you have a bow, an
archer, huh? Are you any good? Have to get you some better arrows in any case,
Daedra don't even notice chitin."

Didryn accepts his offer and stands up. Shifting his bow, he spoke.
"No, I'm all right, just a little shaken up is all. Yeah I'm an alright
archer. You mentioned you could get me some better arrows? That would be great.
These twigs always have me a little annoyed. I wouldn't have anything to pay
you with, though. My village never really accepted Imperial currency. Probably
never will, either."
Posted by: Teleran Mar 10 2005, 05:22 AM
"For the arrows; you can pick them up at the fletcher's.
It's near the smithy, they can give you better directions from there."
Teleran said. "Payment won't get in the way here. If you fight the
Azurites, well, lending your bow will probably be more than enough to cover the
arrows. Now then, let's use your arrows for something useful, What do you think
your range is on that thing? Your accurate range I mean."
Teleran led him to the outskirts and the edge of the forest. "Alright, see
that tree at a hundre..." A figure burst into view coming towards Ald
Raathim. "Shai! What happened to you? I thought the Azurites were taken
care of..."
Teleran ran to meet her. "Hold still I'll heal you. I gave you warning
this time." His fingers started going through the pattern for a stronger
version of the healing spell Loranna had taught him.

Shai was brought back into her upper layers of consciousness by
Teleran's shouting, and his spell. She briefly felt the extreme bouts of pain,
before Teleran's healing spell hit her and her wounds sealed up.
Teleran's pauldron fell from his shoulder and hit her on the head.

Clunk clunk clunk. A group of armoured soldiers advanced towards
the border of Ald Raathim. The armor was as black as pitch, and on the right
Pauldron was emblazoned "W.H.O.T" in white. The leader walked with
his helmet off, he was clearly a Nord, and had light blue eyes, with black hair
that was begining to gray.
One of the guards, who had taken to using drinks to avlievate boredom, said
"Ahzuright, get 'um..." before falling over. The other guards sighed
and walked to the Nord. "What be your buisness in Ald Raathim,
Outlander?" asked the guard.
The Nord smiled. "I have reiceived orders to "Get my fat spotted owl
to Ald Raathim and await further instructions", from my Boss," The
imperial said. The guard look dis-satified and grunted. "Who be yer boss?
What is this...W.H.O.T.?"
"My Boss is Raddin Brastier. Leader of 'W.H.O.T.', The Wearbest Hunters of
Tamriel," The Nord replied curtly. The Guard nodded, "Alright, but
everyone here has to be checked."
The Nord shrugged and let the guards do their work, the armoured hunters
continued into Ald Raathim, stopping abrutly when greeted by a rather large,
and old Nord, dressed in similarly black armor, with a much younger female Nord
at his side. Raddin and Eya.
"So, whats this about the world going ka-boom, Bro?" the younger Nord
asked.

Reichi meanwhile, stood near the shore of the docks at Jazbet's Estate. His
robe lay some distance away, folded and in the grass. Reichi praticed his his
shortblades, the Dagger and shortsword whistling through the air and moving as
if they were extensions of his own body.
Just like claws.

She raises her hands. "I don't know; I'm babbling now. I do

"Duly noted," Allerleirauh said, turning aside with a grin she

"My goal for the day is to make the rounds of the encampment and meet the

As the two head back into town, Loranna notices Teleran and someone she doesn't

"What?" she mutters, hurrying her steps.
Once close enough to see Shai, Loranna says "Oh dear; Tel, let me see

Her expression dimmed when she realized that it was her own power tha had put

A lone figure strode towards Ald Raathim and being met by a
guard patrol. The guards drew their swords when they saw the Dunmer, however,
he didn't draw his. The insignia of Helset was clearly marked on his armour.
"I have a message to deliver to whoever is in charge here." He said.
"And it is quite urgent."
(Ald Raathim:)
Aricyn had been very quiet on the boat home.
'Home'... Everything he had worked for was in Ald Raathim, but still, the
farther he got from Jaszra, the farther he felt from home.
Magnilde, the Large-breasted Widow of Bolverk, was at the dock to welcome him.
Her small group of Nords had settled in well enough. There was already a proper
stable and smithy, built Nord-style, with heavy logs.
No sign of Gunnar and his men yet, though.
Magnilde told Aricyn all that had occured in his absence, including the arrival
of a messenger from Helseth. The man awaited audience with 'whoever was in
charge'.
"I told him that he should speak to you, and that you would return
shortly," she said. "He seems very impatient."
Aricyn made his way to Jazbet's castle and had the man brought before him.
"I bear a message from my King, Helseth of Morrowind," the messenger
declared.
"Let's hear it," Aricyn said...

Not too far from the coastline of Ald Raathim, a small ship
sailed towards the town. The sail was torn in many places, and the hull was
cracked and damaged. One would wonder how the ship was travelling so smoothly
in the first place. From that distance, it would seem like the ship was
practically empty.
Only one or two figures could be seen on the deck. And they seemed to be
running back and forward maniacally, as if searching for something.

He left his arm and spear upon the coast with his bloodied shirt and went for a
swim. He headed out into the bay and dove. When he came up for air he saw a
ship approaching, no more than a skeleton crew at most and far less than that
visible. It moved with an eerie smoothness through the water.
Teleran swam out towards the ship, and yelled to its crew, "Be careful!
These waters are treacherous! They'll hole you if step wrong! Er, not step...

"Alright, alright..." The mer muttered, waving his hand at the two
mer that were also onboard the deck. They began to take control of the ship,
and it headed towards the docks.
"I'm Badel, the feeling's mutual...Teleran. Well, these people, their
names aren't necessary right now, the formalitites will come shortly. We have
many people here."

"Well, Badel, it's good to meet you. Pity your friends
aren't more talkative." Teleran moved to the prow. "Well, it looks
like the welcoming party is gathering, better get your friends on deck for
inspection."
On the shore a fair-sized group of guards had gathered. They waited for the
ship to dock before boarding and demanding that everyone come forward to be
accounted for. Teleran walked up to the first guard and after being dispelled
motioned for Badel to follow suit.

Badel nodded quickly, before stepping forward and being dispelled, he was
clear. The other two mer on the deck went quickly below to gather the others. A
long moment passed before they returned.
Among the large assortment of people, many were injured. Most noticeable
would've been an ordinator who had bandages protruding out of various areas of
his helm. He walked as if he were drunk.
After everyone was cleared, Badel returned below deck himself, returning
shortly dragging a large, black hammer behind his limping form. He was dressed
in a full suit of netch armour. Missing only the left boot, which had obviously
been removed so that the bandage could be wrapped around his ankle. Which
wasn't looking at it's best.

"Good of you to take so many, refugees from Vvardenfell I
take it," Teleran said. "Let me help you with that." Teleran
offered to help support Badel. He moved to pick up the hammer, with telekinesis
belatedly asking, "May I?"
"I don't know where they will be housed, if nothing else I'm sure that we
can find tents for them. First though, we need to find our way to a healer.
This way if I remember right. I would give it a go myself, but I'm not quite

About a hundred meters away Teleran's belongings rose into the air and headed

"Anywhere would be fine, as long as it's relatively safe." The large

"We don't have a proper house of healing here, but you can find the mages
that specialize in restoration through here. They usually charge a bundle for
services, special cases only, not like the temples. However, they've made an
exception for us, with war encroaching not many can afford their services, and
it is in their interest to keep everyone healthy." Teleran led them into a
temporary set-up next to the Mage's Guild.
"Get some rest, the healer will be around in a bit for you," Teleran
lay the black hammer down next to a bed, and moved off to talk to the head
healer. Most of the healing was done through potions so a few mer ran off to
collect the necessary potions, they did not have quite enough on hand for this
many cases at once.

Ald Raathim
Word of the new boatload of wounded refugees spread quickly; Loranna excuses
herself from her current company to volunteer her services with healing the
newcomers.
The sight of the wounds some of the refugees sport makes Loranna's eyes widen
in concern and sympathetic pain, but she swiftly gets down to business, using
magic to mend broken bones and close rent flesh, and to undo any infections
that her patients may suffer.
"There," Loranna says as she removes dirty bandages from one refugee
and cleans his wounds while healing them. "It's going to be okay now;
you'll be back on your feet before you know it."
Red Mountain remains in the back of Loranna's mind, but for the moment she has
a more immediate task, one for which she is perfectly prepared to handle. That
was something, she thinks to herself, as she welcomes the new refugees to Ald
Raathim with the gifts of health and relief from injuries.

A large amount of the refugees had been healed, and were now
roaming the town freely. Others went to find a place to lie down, and many
decided they'd like to take quiet roams around the countryside. Badel was among
them, he no longer walked with a limp, but still sadly had no boot. But he had
stopped dragging the large hammer around behind him.
An ordinator, the one from before, actually...had just finish being healed. By
none other than lady Loranna herself. He sat up, removing the bloody bandages
from his forehead and placed them next to his helm. His red eyes squinted in a
likeness which suggested quelled anger. Though they were rather hard to notice,
surprisingly well hidden by his knotted red hair.
"Tell me..." He began, "You're name. Wouldn't happen to be

Outside the borders of Ald Raathim-
“Ok…Ald Raathim is up ahead, it’s a good ithing we found that mine to hide the
majority of everyone in. It’s a miracle we hadn’t been noticed yet.” Janis
said, eyeing the three other vampires with him.
“Yeah…but a thought just occurred to me. How are we going to let them know of
our presence, and that we mean them no harm?” Asked Volrina, the question
obviously directed towards Illidan.
The vampire was silent a long moment, he looked a lot more professional now
that he was dressed in three different types of armour, not to mention his hair
was tied back again. “Well…I guess, I never thought of that.”
“Well, that’s just perfect! Does anyone else have an idea?” Volrina
asked sarcastically, although she was still expecting an answer.
She was answered with a shrug from Janis, and a thoughtful nod from one other
vampire, a bosmer, one that was brought along for the trip. “I have an idea…but
I’ll need some paper.”
Janis managed to have fished out a small piece of crinkled paper from his
pouch. And handed it to the vampire. Who proceeded to scrawl a quick message on
it, and then he walked away, slowly. Crouching low and heading into a small
group of trees, he returned shortly with a large rat.
The bosmer removed a small ribbon from his pocket and tied the note onto the
creature’s back. He then whispered something into the rat’s ear, which sent it
speeding down the path, towards the border of the city.
“That was your plan?” Janis asked, watching as the rat continued down the
path.
“Yeah…you got a better one?” He asked back, sizing himself up to the redguard.
“Let’s just hope it works, that’s all the paper we have…”
The group fell silent.

Ald Raathim
By nightfall, the refugees had all been healed and were getting situated.
Loranna heads over to the tavern to get some hot food and a drink to relax,
quietly pining for a foot rub.
As she walks to the tavern, an odd scene catches her eye. A largish rat, with a
ribbon tied around its body, is currently snapping at the heels of passers by
and generally making a spectacle of itself. Cursing and yells of "Filthy
vermin!" intermix with wild hopping around and angry stabbing of sharp
pointy objects at the rat.
By the time Loranna gets close enough to notice the rat has a note tied to its
back, the creature leaps for her and starts trying to climb up her leg. With a
grimace and a "Hey!" she casts a quick Absorb Fatigue spell and the
rat slumps, asleep.
"That was strange," Loranna says, leaning down and untying the
ribbon.
"Damn fethcer bit my finger; I'll make soup out of him," a Dunmer
growls darkly.
"I feel faint; I've been diseased," a Breton woman whines, stressing
out over her scratch marks. "Help, healer ..."
"One moment," Loranna says, casting some curative and healing spells
all around.
"What's going on here?" a guard inquires, seeing everyone standing
around a rat. "Sigh; vermin."
Loranna takes the note to the tavern to read it, while the sleeping rat is
carted off to be someone's stew meat.

Nalion, who was sitting in the tavern with a mug of beer in front of him,
lifted his head as Loranna entered. He had spent much time in the library, but
then felt the overwhelming urge to get some fresh air and some ale.
He looked curiously at the note in Loranna's hand and moved towards her.
"Good day to you, Loranna." the mage greeted her with a smile
"What's that? Looks quite worn."

Curious he joined Nalion and Loranna.

over towards Nalion, Loranna, and Marein. Intrigued, the Dunmer stood and went
to see what was so interesting.

After seeing to the refugees Teleran retrieved his things from
the docks and, still wearing his bloody shirt he went to the tavern for a bite
to eat and a drink. When he arrived he saw Loranna holding a note and Nalion
and Marein around her. He peered over her shoulder to try and read what the
note said.

Loranna puts the note down, an incredulous look on her face. She
motions for her friends to sit down at the table if they're not already and
keep their voices low.
" ... This has got to be some sort of prank," she says quietly.
"Someone - no name I recognize of course - is saying there's a hundred
fifty odd vampires sitting outside our borders in an old abandoned mine,
looking to form an alliance with us against the Azurites. And they want to meet
with our leaders as soon as possible to discuss terms."

inclined to believe there is a huge mass of vampires hanging outside our
borders; it's not like that owuld be the strangest thing to ever happen to us.
But ... this is still hard to believe."

"Beggers can't chosers, some allies of ths magnitude could be useful. Sure
the people wont exactly embrace them with open arms, but they can be convinced
of the nessicity, im sure. When everyone but Azura's faithful are gonna get
kerploded if we don't do something, well, theres no choice," Reichi
replied.

"No, no..." He chuckled. "I mean I'm closer to
being a leader of the party than - " he threw his cup at a man in the
corner and inclined his head in that direction. "That bloke over there.
Sorry, Darius! It slipped!"
He turned to Nalion. "Well, what they say of course. Present myself as a
leader of the party, hope that they're sincere, and if they aren't, run like
hell, in a direction away from town. I've got a handy recall spell too."
"Yes, and if they aren't sincere, we have 150 vampires following you to
the village. And then... no, I don't want to think about that." Nalion
objected. "I don't trust vampires. If you're starving, you'd kill a young
deer without thought no matter how cute it looks. You know what I mean."

"Vampires want to treat with us? Oh absolutely wonderful.
Proves to everyone that we are the good guys when we show up with a hundred odd
monsters as flankers." Teleran muttered. " We need to settle this
before they can feed on anyone. If we give them a night you can bet there will
be disappearances. We should go and find out if they are actually here, then we
make them agree not to feed on the people here or we kill them."
"We need to investigate this. Does everyone has cure disease potions
handy? I can offer the one or other resist disease spell, if need be."
Nalion chuckled. "It seems I volunteered despite having the most
doubts."

Loranna raises her hand, speaking quietly but intently.
"First things first," she says. "We here go out and confirm that
these people are where they say they are, for one. We set our Marks before
going and we use my potions of flying to get there quickly - the parraptons are
too noticable. Bring whatever invisibility or stealth enhancing gear you have
too."
"Meet me outside the front gates in ten minutes," she tells her
friends. "I'll go fetch the potions and my armor. We'll scout the area out
and then decide what action to take once we know what we're dealing with. And
keep this quiet for now; we'll talk with Allie and Aricyn and the others once
we have a report."
She gets up and heads out, recalling back to her room once she's outside the
tavern.

Reichi stood and headed out of the Tavern with his drink. It was
night, so if things went awry, there would be no sun to give the Vampires a
slap in the face. Reichi headed back to the castle, and dropped off his robes.
He grabbed a few spare healing potions, and his Chitin helmet's resin goggles,
the rest of his chitin he was already wearing, he left the helmet itself in his
room.
Reichi later arrived the gates, the goggles over his eyes, and his Daedric
shortsword in his right hand, the Dagger of Senses in his left hand.

"The sound of reason." Nalion nodded towards Loranna. "I'll make
my preparations."
Nalion walked outside the tavern. Lacking a recall to his own room, he turned
round the corner, made sure no one was currently looking at him, then was
lulled in a green light and vanished.
The observant passersby would only notice the sounds of fast footsteps towards
the castle.
Back in his room, Nalion gathered his staff and his equipment, containing some
potions of restore health and magicka. While packing his gear, he quickly ran
through a series of incantations in his mind, mostly those of cure disease and
and a weak turn undead spell.
Ten minutes passed quickly, but Nalion stood at the gates at the appropriate
time.

Teleran headed straight to the gates, he had everything he
needed, with him. As he reclined against a wall, he activated his spear's
enchantment and seemed to melt into the wall.
One of the guards looked back to the wall, he could have sworn that a dunmer
had been standing there s few seconds earlier. He glanced in the direction of
the wall every couple seconds and almost leapt out of his skin when a dagger
suddenly sprouted from the wall. before disappearing back into it. He looked
more closely at the wall and could make out the dunmer. He turned back to his
duties muttering to himself.

In her room, Loranna swiftly dons her Starhlim armor, mentally
reminding herself to ask Allie again later about enchanting it for her.
Thinking of Allie makes Loranna pause for a second, wondering if she should go
look for her or Tris to tell them what's going on ...
" ... Damnit girl you can't keep running to the Void Rangers for
everything," she sighs. "You're an adventurer now, with some useful
gear and potions on par with Allie's; you can take care of a recon mission
without asking the Welwa to do it. Besides, doesn't Allie have more than enough
on her plate already?"
She looks over her potions, selecting some potent healing potions and both cure
and resist disease potions; she thanks herself for thinking ahead and brewing
these up earlier. The healing potions weren't her strongest but they ought to
keep herself and the party intact should things go horribly wrong.
She takes up another potion and drinks it, feeling herself infused with
increased strength and grace, and endlessly-renewing energy. She tucks two
spare potions of her customized heroism brew in her robes along with the other
poitons, and swiftly goes over her reflect and spell absorption spells once
more, as well as the silence spell she'd been practicing in off moments.
"Remember the Turn Undead spell too," she reminds herself,
double-checking her gear. Everything was ready; she grabs the flying potions
and heads for the front gates.
"Right," Loranna says, distributing healing and disease
curing/resisting potions to her companions. "Is everyone equipped and have
a Mark set?"

With everyone as prepared as can be, Loranna leads her friends off into the
night ...
... and I call for a new thread to be made
