So, I misunderstood a little, but it seems the intent is still there; if you want something to happen, then we trust you to not go overboard, and if you're unsure or it could somehow change things in a big way (like killing some people) then that's what this thread is for.

Some quick ideas of how things could progress from the start: is the island inhabited? by people/sentient race? a whole village? are they hostile or do they throw us a luau? are there buildings/ruins to explore?

And in any event, it's still just the brainstormy suggestion phase. Have fun.

I think ruins would be a good idea. I mean, depends on the island but if we go with one between Tamriel and another continent then, well, why not have ruins from failed colonies of the other continents?

Like, if it were between Summerset and Thras then when a character tries to go spear-fishing he or she could accidentally realize that the coral is shaped as an abode that was abandoned, or an Akaviri estate fallen into disrepair, or the skeleton of a beached Pyandonean sea serpent. Stuff like that.

Sounds good to me. The goal of the RP would be to get off the island again, I'm assuming, and there are enough options to make that difficult.

Lady N wanted multiple smaller roles, so a few hostiles here and there could be nice. Also, a mixture of human and Akavir makes a good immortal, as Ki'en was in Apocrypha.

I especially like the idea of the Akaviri estate.

Second, I think we could play around with some of the other more obscure cultures and peoples that way, and even if we did Akaviri again they wouldn't have to be like the ones from Ionith, they could be like an isolated population that adapted new customs and such.

The coral cities of the dreugh are also something I wouldn't mind checking out.

I would be interested in doing two characters maybe, one native on the island and one from the shipwreck.

Has anyone who wishes to join some ideas on what (s)he wants? Then we only need an island and someone to start the RP.

Mine's done. He has a parrot, so I guess it counts as two characters.

Where exactly is the island again? And how are we placed there? Shipwreck?

If it's not an anachronism, I would like to assume the role of an Altmer by the name of Molag'Sil.

That looks great, YH, he looks even better than the first one you showed me. I really like it. ^^

I would place the island somewhere between Morrowind and Akavir. Something unknown no one has ever heard of. Can't be difficult. And yes, shipwreck, if no one is against it. We (or someone) will make a decent intro post, so all should be clear then.

You may be whoever you want. :)

Say thankee, sai. If Aladdin and Tom Sawyer had a baby....

Some uncharted strip of doomed paradise between Tamriel and Akavir seems to be the popular choice, but nothing is set in stone yet. So long as it has white sandy beaches and fruit trees, I'll be good.

Any sort of time period in mind?

Right now I'm thinking some sort of businesswoman (shady and/or slightly incompetent)

I can't imagine the timeline being extremely relevant given the circumstances, but if you must have one there's several gaps in the second era, one of about 70 years between the alleged formation of the DB and the assassination of Potentate Savirien-Chorak where, apparently, nothing major happens; 70 years is an entire lifetime for most, lots of room for lots of story, and we avoid having it set in the uncertain future or during one of the games and bumping up against any other established lore, for those of us concerned with potential issues.

I also picked that in case anyone wanted Akaviri/Tsaesci. Of course, if we're on an Akaviri island then that's moot anyhow.

Like I said, can't think of an instance where the timeline would be particularly important for a scuttled crew but i'unno, if you have an idea for a period event or something then that's cool.

Like it lots and lots. Sounds like a good RP title, too. ^^

Glad you like it. :)

Some of you may or may not recall, but I promised a gift a while ago; here it is. I started this ages ago and just sorta forgot about it until people started getting into this again. For those of you who never read the old stories and would like to, or are just feeling nostalgic, enjoy.

If you have something saved or would like to contribute, please feel free.

Your link is just telling me "website under review." I'm at baconfest so I'm not sure how long I'll be on, but could you fiddle with that?

Apparently it's being evaluated to make sure there's nothing bad on it.

It was working earlier, sorry.

It's working again yay.

Yup, that's working and the RP has started. Here's hoping we keep it going :D

Gonna post soon as I wake up tomorrow, but I do say, after looking through the old forums: We need ourselves another Blood Sucking Freaks at some point. It may have stopped getting stories, but it really was a great idea.

Sorry. :)

I'll wait to post 'til after you.

Added new drawing. He turned out kind of mean-looking 'cos of the eyes, but I dig it. Hope you do too, Jeroic.

Actually, that is exactly how I envisioned the guy looking, well, at his best anyways. I hadn't mentioned, but his hair which normally looks like that now, because it's so matted with salt water and suchlike, looks a dead ringer for Tommy Wiseau.

....or maybe I'm just really slow. Had to do a bit of a recap for myself to get the characters into my head. Correct me if I messed up or forgot someone.

A very worthy summation, if I may say so, Lady N.

In addition, as far as I can tell, there is a soldier working on some project of his own in the forest and at least two (native?) elves observing the main party from the trees.

Am I correct?

I have no idea what Fugu is up to, I think he might playing a most dangerous game.

As for the natives, there'll be more soon, and I won't spoil anything but they're not what you think.

@Lady N - it's okay, with a crew of 8 this is one of the larger stories I've been a part of, and with so many of us it does seem to go pretty fast.

If anyone needs a break to catch up, I don't think anyone has a problem waiting a bit.

M'yeah, I think I can wait a bit to do any more now that I've done that one, ;et some people get in on it. There'll naturally be some days where I won't be around anyhow (like Wednesdays) so yup.

Something that I have been trying to reason out, in correlation with the various backgrounds and mannerisms of the characters thus far, is what manner of vessel our protagonists were travelling in. There seems to be quite an array of diverse people, and no one seems to know anyone else all that well.

The best I can come up with is that the ship we were sailing on was a slaver, and we were passengers brought aboard under various pretexts only to be sold at some distant port.

I don't know, though. Does anyone have any other ideas? This has been niggling at me, and I feel it's rather important to understanding the interpersonal dynamics of our cast. Not to mention our respective histories.

I had figured it wasn't a slaver but an overpriced "point A to points B,C,D, etc." I know that my character was being sent somewhere, and I know why, so I figured that the Guild had forked the money over in his case.

I figure that it was a legitimate vessel, mostly lower to middle class transport like quirk said. The sort of boats you take around Vvardenfell in TES3. Thats good enough of a base, imo - if there was an ulterior motive, our character's don't know it yet, and it's unlikely to be revealed (unless my shady character or someone else's had a part in the plot and chooses to reveal it).
