Where do the blades go from here?

You kinda feel sorry for the blades. Like, even if you give them your companions that leaves them with a grand total of five members. So my question is will we see them in the next game or any other game at that?

The Blades are a recurring element throughout the games, and hell, with the exception of Arena have some hand/role in the main quests to a certain extent. Question is what that role is, given that just being dragon hunters is...lame. Its lame. There are probably other members underground like Delphine and Esbern were, but the question is what the hell they're up to, if anything at all. I doubt even with a Dragonborn around, some will embrace the new direction Delphine and Esbern are taking with the group. I guess by extension is what Beth is going to do with the PC, because the LDB is probably the only player character I can fathom trying to shoehorn into something else...for all the problems that potentially brings up. Not worth the trouble to me, but what do I know?

Word of the return of the dragonborn and alduin's defeat will reach other blade agents. They'll most likely make their way to sky haven temple and regroup with the others.

Among the Blades of Talos was at least one ansei, Reilus. Given how effectively the Blades use free agents, and the illegality of their existence across most of the continent, the organization may not grow outside their esoteric core for a couple games yet.

Thx. I really did not know how central the blades are to TES. I hope they reach new heights in the next game.

The Blades will definitely keep going along if Delphine doesn't make their presence too noted, but they'll transform into something more akin of the Dragonguard as they broke their oath to serve the Dragonborn, in my opinion, Esbern should have been Grandmaster, not Delphine, Esbern is like a reincarnation of Jauffre.

Esbern and Delphine only assume they're the last ones left. There is a book in Skyrim that mentions four or five Temples, in remote places in Tamriel. There may be other isolated enslaves more closely sticking to the behavioral aspects of the Blades we know and love from previous entries in the series.

If it has been found in a book its likely its been found by the Dominion

Thalmor, I hate those guys.

Not necessarily. Sky Haven is also mentioned in this book but wasn't discovered by the Thalmor. With the exception of the world famous Cloud Ruler, the location of the strongholds is largely a guarded secret. They're well hidden in remote areas.

likely, my friend likely, besides maybe the Thalmor thought burning down Cloud Ruler was a lesson enough that it would scare the rest of the Blades out of their temples which is why they didn't go to the temples, and maybe the Thalmor scouts saw the Forsworn base there and thought the Blades there were dealt with.

I don't really like the Blades in the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. From what I remember from reading the dossier about Esbern, the Blades were more terrorists than being the "good guys".

There are likely puzzles and locks, like sky haven temple, that have not been solved by the Dominion. Even if the dominion locates these temples they're probably the safest place for blade refugees.

The Blades are far from being terrorists. The Thalmor have their own ways of seeing. Their words may sound sweet but they could not have a more bitter truth.

Screw the Blades, at least the Sky Haven Temple chapter. No one tells me, the Dragonborn ffs, that I have to kill Paarthurnax.

Ya! The Blades are sworn to follow the Dragonborn, not to give him orders.

Bethesda can do anything with the Blades. Several key points play a role in whether they will appear in the next game (i.e. How far does Bethesda plan to make the next game in time?, are there dragons or at least more dragon emporers?, how and what many secret organizations they chose to include, etc.). We can be certain Bethesda will include them in lore and books but I doubt they'll include dragons in the next game (we're probably looking at a pretty hefty time lapse and people tend to get tired of dragons). So I think they've left themselves open to do most of whatever they want with the organization.

We're not necessarily looking at a huge time lapse. Most of the previous entries of the series took place within the same couple of decades near the end of the Third Era. For all we know, TES 6 could take place directly after TES V, or even alongside its events in a different Province.

Lets hope that Delphine plays no part in their future. I can't for one stand the sight of her. How dare she threaten the Dragonborn, claiming she could put you down with ease. Please Delphine, I am Dovahkiin. The greatest hero of our time with power you could not begin to comprehend. Oh how I loved the blades in previous titles and how I loath them in Skyrim.

Just look at that face! Delphine will never be grand master. She always comes to me for money, because I'm loaded, and this is what I tell her, I tell her "You're fired" and she begs like a baby to stay; she'll scream "this is all I know, you can't take this from me" or "you bastard, I hate you". She screams so much, even Esbern hates her (we call her skooma face). It's embarrassing when Odahviing is over.

I think that they will come back in TES VI, and possibly make a reference to the Dragonborn, although I prefer the Greybeards to the Blades, and I don't want to kill Paarthurnax.

Delphine threatened the Dovahkiin? i don't recall that. Maybe he or she deserved it by acting like an egotistical little hypocrite.

I have mixed feelings about her. I think she'd be good as a *member* of the Blades, but not Grandmaster

There was a two hundred year difference between Skyrim and Oblivion. Like I said they can choose to do whatever they feel like. That's why they've chosen to make and plan the games and lore the way they did, so they can have plenty of opportunity.

The Dragonborn understood is no mere heir, but a  dragon hunter child. S/he's the Huntsman, Sovngarde his Lodge. The Hunt has been posted. The Hare named. Delphine was right to drag out Paarthurnax. What did Paarth himself say? "I am as my father made me."

The Hunt has been posted, but which is the Huntsman and which the Hare? Like Cordate posted earlier, the Dragonborn needs to kill Paarth, it's ok to view the kill with bitter-mercy.
