Mod edit: This is the official TES6 thread prior to us getting any real info about TES6. Feel free to use it to speculate and lay out your hopes and fears.

Are we not going to talk about it here?

Good question - why not?

Here's my wish list which has more to do with art, flora and fauna than a specific province.  First - forget the western euro and nordic stuff and return to the ingenious flora, critters and conjure up unique architecture forms as done so brilliantly in Morrowind.

As for provinces I would go with Valenwood or Black Marsh with a strong dash of Waughin Jarth seasoning, or perhaps Elsweyr with a strong dose of Arabian Nights, djin, magic carpets, hookahs and lamps just itching to be rubbed.

Thanks Bittergreen - love the music ... EPIC and  memorable!  I'm definitely looking forward for more.

It's pretty clearly not Valenwood or Black Marsh. Scrubland makes me think Hammerfell, though I can also see Elsweyr and High Rock.

Oops - the E3 reports I found looks like it is a mobile rpg title 'The Blades'  - doesn't sound to me like it will be a new, huge open world to explore and experience - more like a linked scripted series of situational adventures for the player to swashbuckle through. Could be quite good if the series is linked in a way that the player can control but the tiny mobile screen would leave me and my poor eyesight and dexterity out.

TES6 is still a ways off. Blades is a mobile game that's going to be coming out first.

I'm surprised how little buzz there has been here regarding the teaser! I've been stalking this thread, waiting for more activity, but I guess I should probably just contribute.

As much as I might like for the next setting to be Hammerfell, I'm a bit too afraid to believe it for fear of heartbreak. The remixed TES theme didn't seem to evoke any of the sounds me might associate with Redguard culture, and I have to assume that if they really wanted to tease Hammerfell, they'd have made it just a bit more obvious. I really think it's a toss-up between Hammerfell and High Rock (which has always been my worst-cast scenario.) I will note that the castle/city doesn't appear to be the typical European-style structure we could expect from the Bretons, however.

If we want to get really conspiratorial about the Blades demo, the player character was a Redguard in what I'm going to guess is a Breton-styled set of armor. The architecture also looked very ren-fest. If we were to assume that Blades has any connection at all to TES6, could it be that they'll just compromise and do both provinces together?

Yeah, sorry, a shrewdness of us have been speculating happily about it over on the TIL Discord and we've neglected discussion on the Library forum itself.

Hi! New member joining the discussion here.

Now, personally I think it'll be set in High Rock. I know that High Rock isn't the most interesting of Tamriel's provinces, but it has something quite peculiar that makes it very special:

Ada-Mantia.

If my hunch is correct, TES VI will see Ada-Mantia be deactivated or even destroyed by the end of the game's main quest.

People consider the crater visible in the trailer to be the crater made by Azra the Nightwielder. That's certainly possible, why not, I would love a continuation of the lore of the older games.

I think this might actually be Summerset. I see Eton Nir there, I see those mountains, and these remind me of Summerset. The white city, too. I take Hammerfell or High Rock into account as well, but really... who knows?

Hammerfell might actually be a good choice, with the Yokudan lore, Sword-Singers and legends like those about Frandar or Hailin, the vast Alik'r, shrubs, Orsinium in the North (in TES V there's information that the new Orsinium in the Fourth Era is being built in the Dragontail Mountains) and much, much more.

I better get me some more of that dank Ice Tribe Lore. Hopefully some useful tidbits that could help me pin down when the Travels games take place

Wait, the Library has a Discord? Why wasn't I told?

Assuming that the game will (at least mostly) take place in Hammerfell, Stros M'kai and Thras might end up as DLC. Hopefully Bethesda will bother to differentiate between more exotic vatieties of swords for the Tedguards besides scimitars and ordinary arming swords.

What's there to talk about?

And how long has there been a discord/who's there?

The Discord has been around since early 2017, it was originally announced in the IRC thread I think. I myself only became active this year really.

I just recently noticed the Discord as well; not quite as high-tech as our old Chatspike, but nice.

I have this idea. The towers of creation, ada mantia is possibly the last tower still intact, each tower has been deactivated one by one, the red tower in Morrowind, the snow tower in the throat of the world, the white gold in cyrodiil, and it's said there are eight in nirn.its quite possible the ada mantia is the last remaining active tower and it resides in high rock. I can see this being a major part of the story in es6, if it is set in high rock.

Alikr shade temples are a great concept. I love the thought that shade was one of the thousands of things redguards revere, and there are monks caring for these half-submerged, eroded derelicts. Maybe nedic in origin, but what they were long forgotten.

Travelers arriving every new moon, some merchants waiting for nightfall and the stars to guide them, the lost asking clueless shade-monks how to find this way or that... shifting dunes concealing points on my map, until the next big storm blows over.

Live and drink.

TES6 will be at least 1/3 cinematics, like cutscenes and uninterrupted animations. There will be no stats or skills, which would be awesome if they took the Arkane approach, but that's asking the impossible. Hey, its still an rpg, because fantasy. You thought armor in Skyrim looked like they were made for 12 year olds? They were. This is an American video game, after all. Well, prepare your butts for TES 6 armor. Finally, there are over 200 endings in an elder scrolls game. Every choice matters. Don't cast fire on all those chirping crickets outside the window of your mansion, you might alter the course of history for fucking ever. Did I mention mansions? Yes, you can build mansions to keep your phatt loot and all your wives safe. Every npc matters now, so they're all essential. We don't believe in killing children or condone murderhobos. We don't condone giant schlongs either, so now all mods are catered through Kreation Kit Klub. Think of the children. If you don't want paid mods, stop buying them you degenerates! That's right, gib us dat dollar. Your families don't need the cash.

Sorry for that, guys. I seemed to have stared too long into the abyss and channeled the spirit of Bethesda.

The worst thing 6 could do storywise is involve the Bananameri Dominion. We get it, they're everywhere. Nazis. Yellow Peril. End of the world. But there's no need to rush. They're generic, sat am cartoon villains. Have a sneaky quest where the player can see what they're up to, but for the love of God, 6 needs to focus on Redguards. They're the last potentially awesome race in the series. Cats and lizards will never be done justice, let's just get that out of the way. Sumerset is a pile of crap. High Rock will never be done justice. That leaves Redguards and Hammerfell.

If the Dominion are used in the plot, I'd like to see a plot similar to Morrowind's, where we're sympathetic to the banana nazis, as we were the Empire, and they aren't so cringey. Potentially the option to betray them and rebel against hypothetical occupiers, or even to explore them. Because I give Bethesda way too much credit they can make a decent villain, or a game that doesn't smack a villain on the nose with a giant, neon sign reading "bad guy".
