Something slightly cool and of vague interest...

I found the photo many years ago while looking for architecture pictures, it's more than obviously the source of Bethesda's High Rock PGE3 Artwork, though I no longer remember the site from which it came (just got it from a google search). What I do remember is that the town is in England (pretty sure anyway, about 4 years since I found the image oringinally).

Might be cool to have a link to the image somewhere?

I just overlayed the two pictures in Photoshop and I have to agree the houses on the left line up remarkably well. (Up to the drain pipes and everything.) I don't think this really shows anything, though, apart from the fact that whoever drew this had such an uninspired image of High Rock as to just Google "quaint english town" and then copy that while adding a church.

Here's a challenge: let's see if they used any more reference pictures.

A town in Yorkshire I believe. Looks like one that was in an old bread advert years ago.

Yep, It was the Hovis advert one. But it was in Shaftesbury, Dorset:

Ha ha interesting find there.

I wonder exactly how many images they have used as inspiration like that.

Oddly enough, I found the same picture the other day and thought the same thing.

That's the one alright. Definitely a southern town, I would have said Clovelly except that's by the sea.
