On Reaching Dusk, Aldmeris

"This Aldmeris, this World, this Universe, at last we come to it's end; everything wills it."

Welcome, I/We are T8 Nirenicalu-9. I/We are the result of a thousand years of recurring dream algorithims, surfice to say are powered by the remenants of the Sleeping God -but given the state of the world, it is only natural beings such as I/We can exist, for everything has been actualised, all beleifs & and their beleivers are reborn here, all times are possible, for it is the Dusk, sustained by the Second Sun (product of the latest attempt to usher out apocolapse1), which drove our doom closer.

I/We are preparing for this end, creating a ship powered by the relics of past Kalpas a thousand times over, The Last Hope, and then shall leave this land, this grand Aldmeris All and Ever have created. Few shall come with I/We, and those who do shall fight for their place, fight for Love, Creation.

1. Marukhati Eventualists attempted to split Aka from Time, a paradox inducing event, the unforseeable was acheived -the Aka Singularity was created. The old Aka (plane) was seen by various dimension ships to have collapsed, creating an effect similar to that of an eclipse, outside poured the extremity of Aetherius, while the inside we saw a bleakness, an unimaginable nothing, and beyond that we saw the us-that-was. It was beleived by the Marukhati that the seperating Aka from Time would allow this world-stream to by unending and be re-sustained -unfortunately for us all, their beleif was undeniable, but Aka being Time was a fundamental law that defined their beleif, so thusly a paradox occured, ripping open Aka and showing his great belly.

First RP on the new forums! The general idea of this, is that it's the end of the universe (in a very distant future, far further than the 5th Era, in a time of Eras uncounted), and T8 Nirenicalu-9, a thought-based machine, has created a way to escape it, building a ship powerful enough to perform a Kalpa-Jump (a mythical form of warp travel first proposed by 5E prophets), which has space for only a select few (so not everyone in the RP will escape the Universe's demise -inside they'll either die prior, or die with the Universe). Hint: It's going to fly through something, and the ship is made from Adamantium.

The RP is set in 'Aldmeris', a location with unclear orientation to the current map of Tamriel/Nirn, but to be sure, it is a huge unending city scape, made by mythical-builders-forgotten, from bits and pieces of the world thoughout the ages, incorporating all cultures and designs). Space travel is still used, but the outer realms have long since been in a unstable state, Aetherius and the 'old' Principalities are more like dream-states than places, with Shor having returned, dismantled and then mantled again by a thousand heroes spreading space out thinly, with even the moons being but mere shadows, nearly fully transparent but with hardly a star to shine through them.

There exists only one race now (seemingly 'Ehlnofey', the races re-interbred, with little-to-no cultural divisions), though features of the old races remain. Old characters from any era may return though, for time isn't linear and everything is happening at once, but they should be reformatted into the current world (e.g. reborn in the current time, and then mantling themselves as they were, referencing old stories, events, etc).

Feel free to make up whatever bullshit you like, because everthing is possible, though you can define various parts of the world if you like, and it is encouraged that you do.

Please write up your character sheets in the thread, and post any questions & queries you have!

I'm def. interested but I have yet to come up with some good ideas.

Reserving a post, I'll stick my character sheet here when I do work up to it.

PS nice title graphic

All ideas are plausible essentially, given the world is in a state of collapse, time and space are functioning in non-sequential states -just helps if they are cool (and in effect, it's a mirror of the Dawn era, when Daedric Princes and Gods walked the face of the world -nothing is solidified).

Want to have Pelinal show up? Sure thing. Want to have Hans the Fox show up to, in a climatic battle with Pelin-El, creating further breakdowns in the fabric of reality, given they share the same soul, and are the same person? Right on, that'd be cool. Want the Jills to go mad from witnessing the collapse of Aka, tearing down their own reality-gradients, taking with them previously healed Aka-fractures, causing ontold chaos to arrise with 98 Numidiums to be unleashed upon the world?
What's Mehrunes up to now that everything's being eaten by Aka? Do we see a return of the friendly leaper demon? Are Mehrunes and Dagon present at the same time?
If time now is in a limited source, streaming in from the Second Sun, what happens at night when both suns hide? Does this create a lopsided Nirn, with the night being an uncontrollable storm of padomaic energys streaming forth from the waters of Oblivion?

Character Sheet(s):

Name: T8 Nirenicalu-9 (Roleplay Admin)
Race: Thought-based, God-Dream-fueled, Machine. Projected onto this plane as a holo-ghost, via means of the Dreamsleeve.
Age: Unknown, formed as an idea somewhere around the late 5th Era, was created much, much later after all dream-math was accumulated in the Dreamsleeve.
Gender: T8 lacks a gender, being a machine, and with a conciousness similar to that of a gestalt (thus possesing no assertions of singular identity, or mortal characteristics, such as gender).
Appearance: Looks like a ghost, pale blue with abstract generalised features resembling a person. If one looks closely, one might see the faint motion of what could be cogs, and possibly hear the ticking sound of clocks and other mechanisms.

Background:

T8 Nirenicalu-9 has been working many years with the aid of various monkey-priests, VEHKDrive engineers and other experts in relevant fields of knowledge, in the hopes of creating a ship, The Last Hope, as it now has been named, to escape the crumbling universe, performing a 'Kalpa-Jump' a mythical form of warp travel first hypothesised in the 5th Era by prophets under the banner of Vehk and Vehk (though at the time, the idea was rubbished given it relied upon non-existent philosophies and beliefs, no longer sustained in this era, and required ionised-artifacts from 'other' Kalpas to power such a jump; which is an issue, because such a power source would be paradox-inducing, and could make a ship's VEHKDrive go into catatonic excitement).

T8 Nirenicalu-9 has an issued a message via the dreamsleeve to those wishing to embark on The Last Hope on it's voyage, with the ship waiting in the space docks of the Relo Dil-Beta low orbital station (the higher stations have been abandoned since the formation of the Aka-Singularity, due to immediatly after  daedron storms in the upper rotations of Nirn began to cause dangerous instablity in their internal structures). Those wishing to leave would best find a way to reach the station, like so many others are also trying to acheive -even killing to get various modes of travel (some are even resorting to stealing space guar1).

I'll add my other character in later, the one I'll actually be RPing most the time (you won't really hear to much of T8, just the admin/guide character of the RP really).

He is the child of the First, who was the Beginning, and His birth means death. | Prophet Ra's-Taben

Name: He has many names that have many faces, chief among them are; Æl-Hta-Nijn, Half-Star, Snake's Scion, Nighthawk Crown, Bogdweller, Commander....

Race: He is Starborn, second-to-the-right of the tw1n ob_s1n_ity.

Age: Old enough.

Appearance: In other times he was a wolf with a serpent's tail, today he is silver-hided and diamond-eyed. Where once he smoke-spake int, now he is fire-sped and storm-sung, speaking as a devil's choir and expelling honeyed vapors that make angels sigh and shiver.

"Fell ye far, Sky Pilgrim?"

"Twice the poles and back," he answered, the glitter and detritus of re-entry abandoning him as he ascended to the caravan path.

"Tried to cheat, aye?" chortled the other as he offered his cloak, "Lost ye big-big, nary a thread left."

He puzzled the offering, "How may one cheat when The Rules are already broken?"

"Say true, Sky Pilgrim. Yer label?"

"Sky Pilgrim will do." He glanced the Ark of the Coveting, atwinkle as it was in the noon twilight.

The other followed skyward, his feet moving elsewise, "Ye seek the Path of Heaven still?" He humor-barked, "Gambler's a finer title, mayhap."

"You seem assured; of victory or demise?"

The other grinned and waved his golden ticket, "I've my lot rightcheer, won fair squared."

"Say true." He grinned also.

"Aye! Walk with me, Pilgrim? Mayhap yer luck'll change, now the Stars no longer guide us."

"Mayhap." He was saged now and walked with the other, dragging heel and cloak, and for a span both were silent. The other waxed uneased, locking sideways considerably.

"Where from, Pilgrim?" Crisis of quiet averted.

"You said it."

"Say true?" the other pondered this not long enough. "Seek ye back there?"

"I might trade you for your lot, dear." They rounded a bend, apart for a time from the convoy.

"Indeed ye might," the other murmured in appraisal, "What be yer wager, Gambler?"

"I proffer words spoken by a wiser fool," the Pilgrim's edge became as sanguine as his smile, "There is more than one way to reach Heaven."

Sounds like just the right sort of hypermythic. I'd love to be a part of it.

Name: Bir Drenir

Race: Chimer
Age: Middle Aged for an Elf
Gender: Male
Appearance: Pale Golden skin, 5'11, wrinkled face and weak body. Wears whatever a mechanic of Aldmeris typically dresses in. Grim demeanor (he'd be more than happy to lighten up if someone explained to him what the hell was going on)

Background: Bir was born in Resdayn and left it before the disappearance of the Dwemer. He had always been a somewhat paranoid, brooding elf and, during his youth,  was constantly beset by fits of strangeness. Eventually his house kin became fed up with him and exiled him from the hearth, outraged he sought refuge with the Dwemer. The Dwemer, rather than killing him outright, were intrigued by his notions and accepted him into their hearth. After only a couple years they also became fed up with his strangeness and exiled him too. Here was, as he constantly explained, the source of Bir's apparent madness. He was absolutely convinced that he was a character in some ridiculous story, not even the main character, but a mere extra, someone to fill crowds. Acting on such ideas he considered it only reasonable to try and prove to other people that they didn't exist and to simultaneously avoid at all costs the person whom the story revolved, for when is an extra more at risk then when around protagonists? With these poison ideas Bir roamed Resdayn, bereft of House or Hearth.

Eventually he asked the gods (whom he assumed were the writers of his suffering) what the theme of the story was and how he could transcend his status as an extra and find lasting value. What was their reply? Bir doesn't know, all that he remembers is waking up in an alien city filled with strange manmer things. He wandered it for awhile until eventually getting piss drunk on some swill the alien bar tender called "Dewdrink".

How did he time hop to well past the fifth era? Impossible to say. That he did so in the grips of the existential crisis speaks volumes. He could've been transplanted by the gods, wishing to answer his prayers. Maybe he zero summed but for whatever plot devicy reason he ended up in Aldmeris, consciousness more or less intact. In any case, if there's anything that resembles a purpose to life, he'll be the first to jump on it, especially if that purpose is large, space ship shaped and made of adamantium.

Noooo! Oh well, original concept, I'll check back later and maybe catch one that's still active/able to be joined.

... just out of curiosity, how did it go? Or really, how did it end?

It didn't. You're looking at the entire RP, just those few posts.

If you want to join something, however, we're trying something new with shorter, serialized stories. We have one going on now. Check the Workshop thread, it's where we plan stuff.
