No idea on the old theme, but we've spiced the current one up some. If you don't need any actual functionality from your library you can switch the theme yourself and navigate by typing urls.

I've not noticed any slowdown on Chrome or Safari

I love the random quote generator. Do you guys like enter all the quotes in and say 'go," or does it do something automatically, or what?

We enter quotes, it picks from the list. Its supposed to be random, but I could swear it shows preferential treatment >.>

I do seem to get "Remember Redoran" every other time I load a page, but I don't mind. Also it's telling me I don't understand it and I make it feel broken. Should I be concerned?

Did the skin change and/or software update mess with the uploaded files by any chance? I was sure that all the images in the mysterium xarxes fsg article worked before :/

Well I've just checked. The files aren't in the /file directory where they should be.

I'm putting them back from the backup.

edit:

Okay done that.

Also, the forums seem to be buggy and slow on my side. I've tried three times to post a reply to What's New, Pussycat and it keeps timing out.

That might have been me. I've been downloading / backuping most of til the past few days to set up my own server.

The Summoning Chamber is broken!

Oh jeez. Things are fallin' apart, here.

Fixed it!

Just some file permissions that weren't set to allow execution of the script that handles the summoning chamber.

Owh and I've moved the doorway to the chamber. It's on the left now.

Great!  I'm glad it's fixed.

BTW, thanks for telling us you moved the doorway.  I used the door on the right and walked into a broom closet.

I was thinking that it would be nifty to have a random article link at TIL. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement such a thing.

Took me 15 minutes! You can try it here. It may still need some teaking though

I've installed the fuzy search module which should handle, how do you folks like it?

Nice!  What about advanced searches since our main library search features seem to have been changed?

Pretty nifty so far. Thanks for the quick addition!

This is better than me just alphabetically reading through all the MW books. Hehe.

edit: Proweler. Just out of curiosity. Is it possible to hyperlink the "Random Book" heading which is displayed above a book's title after you've used the random book link? It would make it a simpler task to switch between books (if you don't like the one you landed on). For some reason I find my pointer gravitating towards that rather than to the toolbar.

Sorry, I'm currently interning in a Human Factors (Ergonomics) position and stuff like that constantly goes through my head these days. If it would be too difficult (or impossible) or just seems impractical to you. Ignore it.

Just refresh the page, no need to click on anything. ;-)

Cheers. I actually like this kind of feedback. It's the sort of polish that makes things good. I did some human-computer interaction for my bachelor too.

Anyway I've looked into it, but it's not easilly possible right now. The whole thing is generated by the views module which right now doesn't allow that sort of thing.

Well they are differnt modules, which makes them easy to just slab in. Tweaking them to do both is a bit more difficult though. You can still get to the old search using /search if you really want.

Is it possible to make a link display the library comment for its article in its mouseover alt text? This would be great for books, so you could check what they are about without actually clicking.

Well I could do that but I'm planning on something better.

Once I can display all the books by category I'll also add the Librarian comments so it will look like it did on the old library.

But before that I'm going to do that, I'll have to clean up the menus in the book-series pages. They categories will depend on the that functionality anyway.

Thanks.  I like the search results from the fuzzysearch better, but I really love the advanced search features from the original search.

Okay, I've removed fuzzy search box. It's not accurate enough and the interface is rather annoying. It will still be available under /fuzzysearch.

Gotta find something better.

In the books, maybe it would be best to do something like "Dragon Break Reexamined, The" and realphabetize them. It's not super-important, but I work in a real physical brick-and-shelf library and so I'm just used to shelving things that way when it's all by the same author.

Not a bad idea. Might be a while though.

Also I had accidently broken the old yabb forums a while ago. They're back now. Just in case you wanted to look something up. http://www.imperial-library.info/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

Please note that will be moved again in the future. I'm currently separating all the files on the server by their module so it's easier to distinguish between drupal and everything else.

The picture link to Anumidium in the guide to Dwemer links to the incorrect picture.

Easy is good. I'll be sure to complain some more if I notice anything else

Okay, some people mentioned that random book page didn't work. Apparently Drupal caches a bit more aggressively for users that aren't signed in and thus didn't bother to create a random page but served up the old one.

This has hopefully been remedied now.
