Will you be posting the old, lore forum topics?

Mnemoli's Gate, and all them.

I don't know... It was the plan, but lots things to do... I don't have the answer now.

Btw, if you want to read it online, it's available here: http://www.mwmythicmods.com/Archives/lore.htm

The new reforme...

"The library is a quite and peaceful for this is where its patrons let themselves be heard"

Forgive me for being a grammar Nazi but seriously?

For most of us, English is our 2nd (or 3rd) language. Besides, that just looks like a typo.

Can you link to location so we can fix it?

The new reforme...

It's one of the those boxes that tell you were a link leads just hover the cursor over the storyboard link.

It's just these little things that bother me.

Also three typos in Daggerfacts

"Akatosh - this one's complicated. There was this beta-tester named Lawrence Szydlowski, which is obviously not a very good name for a generic fantasy setting of Daggerfall. His online nickname was Smaug, and it was not very good either, since Smaug is widely known. His sign-off, though, was Larry, "also known as the Old Smaug himself." That spells out A.K.A.T.O.S.H., so Akatosh became the name of the dragon god of time."

Could be "a generic fantasy setting." or "for the generic fantasy setting of Daggerfall" or even "a generic fantasy setting like Daggerfall"

"Kynareth - surprisingly enough, this name was not based on anyone's. Kynareth, however, was mentioned in TES: Arena. She was the spirit behind the artifact called Lord's Mail, and the dungeon where the Mail was to be found was Kynareth's crypt."

Not sure but I think surprisingly should have a capital. And I think it should be THE Lord's Mail as it's one of a kind.

And last the Pic of Indy is missing from http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-easter-eggs

Fixed the error on the story board and indies picture. I'm going to leave the other spelling to some one more aware of the concept. :P

Here's a curiosity: On the new site, my browser (Firefox 3.5) goes "back" when I use CMD + Left Arrow, which usually returns the caret to the start of the line when there's keyboard focus on a text field. I use it a lot when I'm writing a post, but I tried it just now and lost my post.

It's probably inherent in the text editor that Drupal uses. Still, thought I might log it.

So I suppose that this is the place where I can complain about the new site? :-)

There is no way to tell wich forum has new posts, the icon changes only when there are new threads, the way the old forum worked was much better.

The new smiles are ugly.

The spell check for firefox does not work here, which is problem for me since english is not my native language (obviosly) ...well I do not post often but if anyone know how to get it working I would appreciate it.

Otherwise the new site is really good. :-)

You can look at the right side where it says the latest post. I'm not sure if it can be changed, but we will look into it.

I like the new smilies

Not sure whats wrong with FF's spellcheck - it works fine on both Safari and Chrome. It also works in the "source" view (top left button in the editing sidebar), so you can go into that view after you're done typing and fix things up, or type strait in there.

OK thanks, the button "source" helped. And I know I can look at the right side to see how old is the latest post, but remembering when I last visited the forum and comparing the time to all the dates... I am too lazy for that. :-p

I just checked the source code. The reply box is a JavaScript text editor hidden in an inline frame. I suppose Firefox's spellchecker can't penetrate it.

Like N says, you can always use Chrome or another browser with spellcheck. Those seem to work. Or you could use the plain text editor if you're feeling retro.

The new reforme...

Google Toolbars spell check works just fine.

I consider the issue with the spell check solved, thanks. Switching to plain text editor to check the spelling after I finish writing works just fine for me. Instaling another browser or addons just because of this is pointless.

Random Note: Why is "Before the Ages of Man" now titled "Timeline Series"? Took me forever to figure out that the reason I couldn't find it was because the title had changed.

Thats what it was titled within the text, so thats what I left it as *shrug* I've changed it back to 'before the ages of man,' since you're not the first to have that problem.

While we're here, is there any way to change the number of posts per page? 50 takes for ever to scroll through.

Also, whats with the ridiculous avatar restrictions? To get my current avatar (90x90, grayscale) down to 30kb I had to save it at "4 - low" setting in PS.

I thought it automatically downsized, maybe mine was just the right size.

Further note, is there some reason that the new Timeline isn't as detailed as the old one was (referring here to the actual Timeline, not that book)?

Is it not identical to the old one? Huh?

I don't know about the forums.  It seems to be set at 25 posts per page, but there are clearly 50 in here.

As far as the avatars go, I believe it's the default setting.  We could talk about changing it.  Mine's 90 x 90 and only 4.46 KB. Anyone else having issues?

No, the new one has much less information. For example the old one had for the following dates:

3E 317 When Uriel VI falls from his horse and cannot be saved by the finest Imperial healers, his beloved sister Morihatha is crowned. Morihatha finishes the job her brother started, and makes the Imperial Province truly a government under the Empress. Outside the Imperial Province, however, the Empire has been slowly disintegrating. Open revolutions and civil wars have raged unchallenged since the days of her grandfather Cephorus II. Carefully coordinating her counterattacks, Morihatha slowly takes back her rebellious vassals, always avoiding overextending herself.

while the new one just has:

3E 317 Uriel VI dies after an accident, Morihatha takes the throne. She continue the job Uriel VI started. After she conquers the Elder Council, she continues defeating the rebellious vassals. Slowly the Empire regain its prosperity.

Similarly:

3E 153 Originally Pelagius III is sent to the Asylum of Torval. After some time in the Torval, a decision is made that the Asylum of Torval is not in the capacity of dealing with Pelagius' lunacy. So Pelagius is moved to more secure location. Eventually, Pelagius III dies in his cell at the Temple of Kynareth in the Isle of Betony. Pelagius' wife, Katariah is then crowned for the Empress of Tamriel. Despite of the racist assertions, to the contrary, Katariah's forty-six years reign is known as one of the most glorious in Tamriel history.
Source:
The Madness of Pelagius, The Asylum Ball, A Brief History of the Empire.

One of Katariah's feats of gaining respect from the Elder Council is recorded in the book titled "The Armorers' Challenge". At that time, the Empress and the Duke of Vengheto, Thane Minglumire discuss about the massacre of Imperial troops in Black Marsh. The troops need a special armor, because their standard armor is not suited in the swampy land of Black Marsh. The question is who should create such armor. So a contest is conducted. Eventually, Katariah's Armorer, the Argonian Hazadir wins over Minglumire's Armorer, due to his knowledge of Argonian battle tactics and weaponry and how best to combat them.

Sir Amiel Lannus dies on his futile attempt to recover the Helm of the Crusader, one of the Crusader's Relics.

Becomes:

3E 153 Pelagius III dies at the Temple of Kynareth in the Isle of Betony. Pelagius' wife, Katariah is then crowned for the Empress of Tamriel. Despite of the racist assertions, to the contrary, Katariah's forty-six years reign is known as one of the most glorious in Tamriel history.

Those are just a couple examples.

We should let Xan know.  I wonder if it was done on purpose.

Yeah, I did it on purpose. I just feel that I need to remove some detail, also some dramatized information and speculations. In order to make it really like a timeline, which should see all the events as a neutral party. Besides, the detailed information can be read from the provided links.

The avatar restriction is the default. I will see what I can do.

I'd go with 25 posts per page.

I think it's just Lady N's ridiculously detailed avatar that's having problems.  Everyone else is fine.

Posts per pages selections are 10, 30 and 50. I changed it to 30.

I increased the size of the avatar to max 100kb.

You guys should do another sticky with IRC login instructions -- I've already forgotten how to do it.

Assuming, of course, that people still use IRC.   I've heard things; I don't lose hope.

I might be wrong here but we seem to have a spambot of some sort. Just a hunch.

EDIT: Well, if not a bot, certainly some massive source of spam threads. That joined a little more than a half hour before I posted this. I assumed "bot" based on the number of threads in the amount of time.
