They made the big move, and what a difference a year's made. (my username's the same as here)

I'll go first. Since the lore community's gone cold ftm, and I don't see anybody I recognize at either forum, I'll keep to TIL and Total War center. BGS have made it their mission to retcon and standardize the lore to be as accessible as your generic, run-o-the-mill fantasy, so I guess I just don't care what they do. Nothing good has come from the c0da frenzy, and everything else has been discussed to death. When a community's been overrun by posturing jerk-offs from reddit, its time to call it dead.

What are your thoughts?

Yes, I believe in love after love.

Do you think Skywind's closer to launch than TR? I don't know.

How will Skywind fix anything? Isn't just a Morrowind remake?

In my mind I've always preferred TR's faithful adaptation approach over Skywind/Morroblivion's focus on just reproducing Morrowind with updated systems.

In any case I don't think anything will be "fixed" until Bethesda announces the game currently known as the Greenheart project.

Of course TR's my favorite of the two, but isn't Skywind supposed to be rather faithful as well? Not so much as TR, their team are truly the last bastion of old Tamriel, but I thought Skywind's mission was similarly bent.

I don't know much about Beyond Skyrim, I'll have to give them another look. One of their teammates frequents The Assimilation Lab (or used to).

I still hope the guy who tried remaking Outcast on old Crytech will come back to remake Redgaurd. :P

I'm probably really late to this, but I just wanted to add OpenMW to the discussion.

When OpenMW is done, we might have Cyrodiil and Skyrim in the game in the future (there are already demos for those), possibly other provinces too (just look at Project Tamriel), Tamriel Rebuilt will be done, as well as multiplayer, and possibly other things too!

Under OpenMW's wing, Morrowind's near and distant future is looking VERY bright.

Have they said how long they'll keep the old forums up?

Holy fuck. How does anyone search the old forum anymore?

Google site search doesn't seem to work, and I can't even do it manually anymore because the site no longer marks the threads that you've commented on in the past with the dialog box symbol.

This is giving me a headache. If anyone can help, please do.

Also, I've decided to make my entry into the new forums.

So if you're there, add me

I can't stand the design. There are a couple extant problems too. I get a barrage of notices of updates on unread material from the entire damn forum, with no way of setting what kind of unread notifications I want to receive. I also have been unable to set a cover photo on my profile. I can upload, crop, and all that jazz. But as soon as I refresh the page it disappears.

The layout of the new forum lacks the natural cohesiveness of the old site. They tried to go for a sleek, modern look, but it's just difficult to use. I really hope they rethink their design choices, because the old layout is fundamentally more intuitive and better-suited for use as a forum.

Okay, I've seen it mentioned many times on these forums now, so I'll go ahead and possibly embarass myself: What is c0da?

It is a story/comic written by Michael Kirkbride, meant to be the 'end' to TES.

I don't think even the mighty Kirkbride has the right to unilaterally arbitrate what is and is not TES. Last I heard, C0DA was just a word for whatever headcanon/fanon/fan-fiction one might choose to accept as one's own personal truth.

Trying to decide which fanfictions are and are not canon seems like a sure way to overcomplicate a lore that is already very open to opinions and interpretation.

I also don't like the idea of trying to write a canon ending to an ongoing series. Just seems so...needlessly limiting. Every bit of in-game official lore would now have to fit into said ending. Plus it's just much less interesting to me personally to follow the ongoing story of something that already has a definite ending.
