Why don't you? Mercs is free, and you could join our clan.

It's game music. Loads of it. It gave me this craving to play Mechwarrior again.

Oh shit I should have posted this awhile ago. Whoops. The one I use is http://dagobah.biz/flash/vip.swf

Good stuff.

also: Play Ghost Bear's Legacy. It's totally the best one.

"This video contains content from Vevo, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Although it's an easy guess that it's something related to Die Antwoord.

How does it make me feel? Freaking grateful that it was them instead of Jack Parow.

Steven Seagal most be the most unintentionally hilarious man in the world.

Also, Tolkien was born in the Bloemfontein, thank you very much.

(Pretty much the only significant thing ever to happen there, for the record.)

Went to a concert in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town to watch Isochronous and Kidofdoom. I took a bunch of photos in the first gig and rocked out in the second. Bought a shirt and a couple of albums. Good day.

I know, man. Another legend gone to the great gig in the sky.

I like ethnic music. I like dubstep. Ethnic dubstep was a logical progression.

ethnic music is such a weird phrase

what music isn't ethnic?

I suppose "non-ameri-european" would be more accurate, but its so clumsy.

you could just use the slightly less offensively ambiguous "world music" and I'd be fine widit

however, I see your nonamerieuropean dubstep and raise you this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExmNN3jj6WM

Pure class! Do post a recording once you have it down.

Porcupine Tree's live album Atlanta from their Fear of a Blank Planet tour is INCREDIBLE. I always thought I'd be terribly disappointed with them live, since only Gavin Harrison is really a session-grade musician, but this is freaking awesome. I feel like ordering the Anesthetize DVD now.

Speaking of ordering DVDs, I've ordered a signed copy of Eric Whitacre's new album Light and Gold. Cue a megaton of nostalgia for my choir days. I can't wait for it get here.

I am amazed to see other people who know about Myrkgrav and are into TES, not just one or the other, but both! I thought I was some sort of .001% breed of person that does such a thing. I wouldn't be too shocked to hear that someone who listens to Eluveitie or Finntroll is into TES, but Mrykgrav?! You're awesome.

Anyway, lately, I myself have been into really ethnic Slavic stuff alot, like Pagan Reign: http://youtu.be/6BJmLZTRgDE .

There are a couple bands I have found over time that have taken inspiration from TES such as an ambient side project Dagoth Ur, of someone from the Croatian band Slavogorje. Another is a band of the same name out of Solvang, CA. Despite their having the same name and relative style, I do not think they are connected in any way. I have only been able to hear anything from the Croatian one on its Last.fm profile: http://www.last.fm/music/Dagoth%2520Ur?ac=Dagoth%20Ur which has couple songs for free. The Californian Dagoth Ur has a couple of songs on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQAsDQjMhkU.

And this is for Fugu, who kept asking me for folk metal bands with less growling and I kept forgetting: Heidevolk and Forefather.

Too bad they've only produced 15 minutes of music. It's pretty good.

It's just that the Dutch are so... nice. It's pretty good though.

Also, I cracked myself when I saw bliksem in the lyrics. I had no idea that there was an actual Dutch word like that.

I'm listening to Pink Floyd's Animals. The music of the gods.

And The Wall. God yes. I could listen to this on loop forever.

I'd advise checking out the stuff they've fav'd. Some really good stuff in there too.
