I was wondering if the texts from the Meet the Character section in TESO website were on the Imperial Library ? I couldn't find them. I think they are great and they could have their place in the TES Characters section.

i didn't even know that we had this page. I too agree that it should be added to the library.

>>>I was reading one for the first time today while my game was running self-repair. A few days recounted from an Argonian watching over the Matron of the Dark Brotherhood at the time. I think the authors have gone to particular effort to make these posts lore-friendly. Even the trivia, like which ingredients make a good revitalising paste for Argonian scales.

The IL in general needs to be updated. An Alessian reform. A wikia aesthetic, perhaps, but only the librarians can enter and discard information.

I would like to see Skyrim's Storyline added as well.

@Xarnac, the Library costs about 6$ a month and runs on a rented potato. It was what we collectively could afford at the time and unfortunately still is today. So I'm not sure if we could go full Wiki and keep doing that.

However we are running Drupal so it easy to give people edit/write permissions or put a different theme on it. I'm also looking at some technical changes needed to make this aspect a little easier but I won't have any significant amount of spare time until September.

Though personally I'm a little attached to the cobble  stones. :)

---

@Tailin, some one was working on that but they ran out of time. I'll take any volunteers who want to have a stab at it. :)

PS: I became a Librarian after writing the Story of Knights of the Nine and pestering Ada everyday to put the new chapter up until he got fed up and let me do it myself. So take that to heart. :D

Wikia is butt ugly and difficult to navigate. I like the control css/html gives us.

I actually just meant wiki, not wikia. Wikis are definitely not ugly or difficult to navigate. But I was getting more to the point that this site needs an update and more info added.

Ah, I see.

>>>Mkay. Interesting conversation going now. Make an option for those who want to, to donate 1USD per month via PayPal on a recurring subscription. Give us a nice forum badge or something. Whatever. Just to keep excess $ in the site's account, so to speak. Also please don't change the look of the site. I too, am quite attached to the cobblestone.

>>>As far as adding content goes, I'd be happy to pull some of the weight. I have nothing better to do with my time until the end of the year, and am building a decent amount of knowledge on Elder Scrolls in general. I'd just have to spend a couple weeks reading significantly more of the content here to get a feel for the style.

edit. For clarification in regard to my mentioning of subscription, I simply mean that as an option with PayPal to donate on a regular basis automatically. Not suggesting it as the first or only option. Donations in general is indeed the main point.

Don't forget about storylines of Stormhold, Dawnstar, Oblivion Mobile and TESO.

The current overall style with links for browsing on the left is nice to use and makes this page different from other TES pages. It's not just another wikia or wiki, it's the Imperial Library. Those stones remind me of Roman roads and we all know the Empire of Tamriel is kind of... Roman? Well, I think the red-and-gray theme should stay, the only thing that could be changed without making everything different would be changing the background but then it'd have to be still in the colour theme of the rest of the website.

And I 100% agree with making an option to donate. I'd rather make it an option to donate, not any subscription. I bet some people would throw you a dollar or more from time to time.

The Mobile games didn't actually have a story worth of note.

Perhaps I should say this more explicitly. Anybody who writes a Story Of, or even just the first chapter will see it go up.  Do call dibs to avoid duplicate work and disappointment. :)

I have to admit, its really tough to find the time and willpower to complete a storyline. I volunteered a long time ago to put together Skyrim's storyline, and I recorded about half of the questline along with all dialog options. Then came time to start typing it all out and that is where progress ground to a halt. After playing obsessively for a couple months I was burned out of Skyrim and wanted to do anything else with my spare time. I'd be a fool to promise such a feat again, especially considering how absorbed I am in Dark Souls 3 at the moment. But its been long enough that the idea of revisiting it doesn't fill me with dread.

Here's an idea though. Why don't we make a Patreon or something where the people who value the library can contribute to help keep it running and maybe schedule some improvements. I mean, hell, I'd happily pay $5 a month to help keep the site in good order.

And while I do enjoy the homely feel of the site (feels very old internet and conjures up my early experiences of the net in my youth), I do also think it needs to be more easily accessible for people. I mean, try searching TIL for a conversation that happened in the gigantic TESOF Commentary thread and the site just points you to the thread itself. You have to use Google if you want a link directly to the page. Otherwise you have to go through page by page.

@Fiore, share that burden. If you put the video online some one else can transcribe it. Though personally I would recommend extracting the dialogue from Skyrim using the construction set. Then search that for the strings. It is much faster.

since we are sharing ideas for the library, can we add "Agree" and "Disagree" buttons onto posts/comments, because if a lot of people agree with something you say then they all feel obliged to say so and that results in the forum being super long.

But that's just my opinion.

I'll see what I can manage in the coming days. I'm going to review what I have right now.

Why as legitimate as developer-written fanfic? It's content for TESO, and TESO is a 100% legitimate TES game, even if a spin-off. Also, there are loremaster's archives, and these are also legitimate.

They're all now up, under the ESO books section (since they're really books).

There's a new character presentation ! : Breda

Oh and I also saw a typo in the page of the library : it isn't Astra Caerellius, but Astara Caerellius.

And what about this loremaster's archive section on the TESO website ?

Thanks for staying on top of this, the website stuff is easy for me to miss. I've made a note to add it post haste.

Added Breda as well as the Archives that we seemed to be missing (everything after Fa-Nuit-Hen). Also fixed Astara.

I'll add my support to the Patreon suggestion.

I'll also add my support to keeping the cobblestone and not getting a wiki layout. I'm tired of looking at wiki-style websites, TIL is a nice change.

I was searching for any type of a Patreon or PayPal donation option and found this thread. I have spent a lot of time on this site over the years and I would like an option to make a financial contribution. Even if the server is fairly affordable, there is still a lot of time and effort that goes into this site and literally every Elder Scrolls fansite references or links to TIL at some point.

There is a new IC article about the flora and fauna of Vvardenfell in TESO official site : http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-gb/news/post/2017/02/20/eso-morrowind--vvardenfell-flora-and-fauna

@Surragard, thanks. The thought is appreciated. Personally I'd rather avoid the sense of obligation that goes with a Patreon.

If you were to make a Patreon page, you could just keep the donations in bank and use them solely to pay for the upkeep of TIL. If there were to be some unforeseen financial problem TIL wouldn't be affected, not that it would. I'm just saying. The future would be secure. What happens when you get old Proweler? What then, hmmmmmm?

I'm just bug'en, but seriously consider it.
