Hello everyone.

Making my "humanity submission" here. I stumbled onto the Bethesda Forums a while back which brought me to their lore forums which then brought me to TIL by means of the "how to become a lore buff" thread. (I can't resist a challenge)

Yep, not a bot. Let this one pass.

Haha, welcome Anasûrimbor Amaunator!

Hello all! My name is Max, but I'd prefer to be called by my username, please. I'm a stout Imperial supporter and I absolutely adore reading the never-ending volumes of lore on the greatest game-series in history! Thanks for creating such a site!

Hello everyone! After years of lurking on this site, I've finally gathered the courage to actually join up! I've always been critical of my own grasp of the Elder Scrolls lore, but I guess I feel confident enough to meaningfully participate at this point.

Anyway, I've been actively playing the games since Daggerfall (which I didn't actually finish until after playing Morrowind, I confess), so I think I've been around for a while. I've been reading up on this site (mostly because I disliked reading in-game, at first) for YEARS... So I guess I should thank you guys for this place, and here's for me hoping I can share in all this a bit.

I'm 34, and my first TES game was Oblivion, which I never finished. Recently started on Morrowind. The depth of the lore drew me back. (If it weren't for the modding community, though, neither of these two games would have kept my interest fixed beyond 30 minutes.)

I believe that the things that draw us to these games are archetypal and subliminal - things we unconsciously seek out to fulfill desires of our psyche. More on that later, perhaps!

I played Morrowind and Oblivion during hundreds of hours before knowing about the existence of mods and modding. I began modding with Skyrim. As for your theories as to why we love these games...

Hi IL, I think that is how you abbreviate it. :)

I love the tes lore and I find this page to be very helpful in obtaining knowledge, even though it never occured to me to register here. I did it now as I might be able to help out in some way, oneday maybe.

Have a good day!

Hello folks - Daniel here, the new new guy.

I vaguely remember playing Daggerfall when it was first out but Morrowind made a great impression on me... as you would expect. I didn't really appreciate the full depth of the game at the time but found the atmosphere incredible. My fondest memory was of seeing my first Silt Strider and the sound of the ash blowing across my armour as I visited the buildings in the Ashlands. I don't know if I played the game to the end of the main story but I certainly still have memories of the game. I skipped Oblivion but had the great fortune to be in at the start of Skyrim.

Now as to the reason why I am here... I am the current guardian of the Book Covers Skyrim mod (which I inherited form doccdr) and like the authors of the Tamriel Compendium and Books Books Books mods, I am here to pick up the Lore from the Tomes which never made it into Skyrim. I will be doing all new covers in the style of Book Covers Skyrim but wanted to come and check the Terms of Use for the source material first.

Once I am unmoderated, I will be chatting about some of the individual books, asking questions and seeking feedback on potential placements in the Skyrim world.

I look forward to chatting with you all...

Hello everyone! I am Adam.

On TES forums I usually go under the name of 'Archmage Alator'. I have been a loyal fan of the series for years and have played most of the games.

I am very fond of the lore and has been learning it for years, another thing that I am fond of with the lore is debating it :)

I have visited this library and used it for learning lore for quite some time now, and I thought that I could aswell sign up here aswell ;)

I am looking forward to meet you all!

Hi Lady N,

I'm a podcaster from The Quest Gaming Network and lead host of a show called "Elder Scrolls Off The Record".

I'm doing a community show this Friday at 7 pm EST called "ESO Alliance" and wanted to ask if a representative of The Imperial Library would like to join us.

This site has been around since 1998, and with Elder Scrolls Online about to launch, I'd love to get a perspective of those in the fan site community who have been around since the early days of the franchise.

If interested, please email me at

Thanks for your time,

Hey! I used to listen to your podcast all the time before I lost interest in ESO due to expenses. Pretty good stuff. ;)

Hey everyone!

I've been a fan of TES since Daggerfall. Back then I had extracted the book files into a Word document, and that file is the only thing that I managed to save from computer to computer until today.

That might or might not have something to do with the fact that in the meantime, I grew up to be a librarian.

Anyways, I signed up to propose my services and/or ask for help - but that will be a story for a more specific thread.

In the meantime, hello to you all, and looking forward to meeting you guys!

I am an author in real life, and an avid gamer going into game design. Seeking to further combine the two, it only seems natural that I seek out new texts to add to the Library as I venture through Tamriel, and have actually come upon a handful not yet entered.

Lore is just so exciting! Alas, with all the holes in it (especially on the khajiit side), I am left to extrapolate details from RL references in my fan-writing. And that is an epicly long project that will keep me busy for many years to come.

Hello Imperial Library members,

I am new to the Imperial Library. I have been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series when I first played TES IV: Oblivion when it came out. I plan on being an active member of the Imperial Library and I am excited to get started.

Nice to meet you, dear librarians and readers.

My name is deopse, a Japanese fan of The Elder Scrolls and The Imperial Library. I would like to make the fan site for translating TIL, so that Japanese fans may enjoy TES much more. So I know my rudeness, but would you mind permitting for it?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hello all!

I'm not a particularly interesting person, but I've been a fan of the Elder Scrolls for a while and this library has been one of my favourite places, letting me explore the lore of this amazing world.

In any case, I decided to make an account and hopefully contribute to the library, as I've stumbled upon a few books that haven't yet been put it. I want to help back after all the help this place has given me!

Hello, I am going to introduce myself... Originally, I wanted my nickname to be Sheogorath, since that's my favourite Daedric prince, but since it was used already I picked Clavicus Vile, another of my all time favourites.

I was introduced to the Elder Scrolls series by Oblivion, which was the first ES game I bought and played. I wasn't born / was too young when the earlier ES games came out. When Skyrim came out I got it immediately because I really had loved Oblivion and I was not to be disappointed! I have spent countless hours on countless characters in Skyrim, and I won't stop any time soon :) Probably the one thing that impresses me about the Elder Scrolls universe is the MASSIVE amount of background history and information about Tamriel the developers have thought of. It has always been my wish to become something like a Lore Expert for Elder Scrolls, and this site is going to help me with it, I'm sure of that.

Hello everyone, nice to meet you.

I've adored the Elder Scrolls series since I was about six years old. Morrowind was the first game that I played, followed by Oblivion, Skyrim, then Arena. I look forward to exploring the site and meeting new people.

Starting with Morrowind many years ago I've come to love the elder scrolls series.
Recently I've been playing a tabletop game set in Tamriel and to give my players the richest experience I have decided I must be better versed in the world's lore.
What better way to do that than to browse the Imperial Library?

I look forward to seeing you in the various topics and studying alongside you.

I've been involved in the lore community since last fall, though I've been into the series since I was about 7-8. I mostly hang around #memospore, with occasional forays into the outlands of /r/teslore and BGSF. I've been lurking here for awhile and figured I may as well make an account.

I'm also one of the editors for High Rock Is Cool, which y'all should check out if you haven't already :P

Hello, everyone. My name is Bob (yes, really. Robert if you want to get technical, but I go by Bob). I was a member of this site long ago when it was til.whatever, but just got busy with life and ended up falling away from it for quite a while.
I am quite the lore-junkie, but not a historian to write home about. I love role play which is my main reason for  rejoining this site (other than the company of all you lovely people).
My first experience with the Elder Scrolls was when I was barely knee-high playing Battlespire with my mom on her computer. I have stuck with core series ever since, but still am a huge fan.
I look forward to meeting new members and hopefully brushing shoulders with ones from back in the day...
P. S. If anybody remembers the name "Drevas Oril" give me a shout. ;)

My in game name is Kylon Murindle my race: Altmer. My history with the elder scrools began many years ago, when I firts met the Computer, around 1999, in that time, I used to play, not only the elder scrools, but also, some other dos games (like Heretic and Doom), as I grew up and improved my english understanding, I started to play more frequently the game. My primary objective is to translage those books.

My real name is Rafael, I'm from Brazil, my intentions here it's not just reading the imperial library books. I'm also intent to translate them to Brazilian Portuguese. Indeed, looking around and searching for a Brazilan Portuguese version of those books, we can only find some bad translated European Portuguese versions, adding those with a diferent kind of Portuguese (yes, Brazilian and European Portuguese are very distinct) and you'll have a huge misundertanding by the Brazilian people.

Also, I'd appreciate the help of some Librarian in my "translation quest".

It's very nice being part of a such great library.

Thanks for reading.
