Author:
Xan

Appeared in: TES2: Daggerfall.

Gortwog gro-Nagorm is the King of Orsinium and leader of the Orcs. At 3E 399 he won the Orsinium area from Lord Bowyn of Wayrest. Soon, he rebuilt the Orsinium castle and the strong city of the Orcs, Nova Orsinium. He is cunning, diplomatic and political genius. He played the political game of the Iliac Bay cleverly.

He rejected Necromancy and he has started a new priesthood devoted to the worship of Trinimac, a Merethic Era hero which was devoured by Daedric Prince Boethiah and reborn as Daedric Prince Malacath. The Orcs traditionally worship Daedric Prince Malacath, but Gortwog believes that Trinimac still lives, and Malacath is not Trinimac. A new controversial religion for the Orcs, and has potential to break the unity of the Orcs and the wrath of the Daedric Prince.

Gortwog is one of the seven retrievers of the Totem of Tiber Septim, a tool for controlling Numidium. Originally the Totem of Tiber Septim is only one, but a strange time-warping effect known as Warp in the West made all seven parties of Iliac Bay retrieved the totem. Through the usage of Numidium, the Orcs became the official citizens of the Empire, and even accepted in the Imperial Legion.

The next move of Gortwog is the alliance with Queen Elysana of Wayrest. This alliance made Gortwog controlling larger area of the bay and providing a stable base for the growing Orsinium. Furthermore, the growing Orsinium is under review by Imperial authorities to be accepted as a Province.
