Here's a question or two.

Where is Jyggalag? Will he merge back into our Sheogorath, as some suspect that he did with Arden Sul?

How much of an influence, if any, did Unknown Armies have on the Elder Scrolls?

Oh, and thanks for inadvertently introducing me to Unknown Armies...and Tekumel too, come to think of it. Fantastic stuff.

Tell us a little bit about your understanding of the Ehlnofey and Wandering Ehlnofey. Were they always pretty sophisticated from the start (i.e. complex language, clothing, communion with the Divines, etc.) or did they start off kinda "Cro Magnon"/Quest For Fire type beings who had to gradually become civilized and enlightened?

And what about their connection with the Karstaag men? Do they share a common ancestry? Are the Giants a relic of the original Ehlnofey populations? Were the mortal races originally much greater in stature but simpler in mind? Or were the Karstaag once Clever Men who became more outwardly dull as the ages passed?

Quest for Fire!
I downloaded that the other day and forgot. I better watch that.

I'd like his questions explored too; the whole "Good Daedra taught the Chimer the arts of civilization", and the contrast between the Houses and the Ashlanders, always made me very interested in the development of Tamrielic society.

Tell me about the Sermon of Numbers. Yes, I already know about the secret message stuff, so what I'm really interested in are the terms and numbers themselves.

For the purposes of my question, I'll strike out any term I feel I have an understanding of.

1. The Dragon Break, or the Tower. How is the Dragon Break interchangeable with The Tower? Because one requires the other?

2. The Enantiomorph. Is this the first mention of the Enantiomorph in TES? Also does 2 refer to Tiber and Ysmir? Or just the idea of 2 becoming 1?

3. The Invisible Gate, ALMSIVI. 3 members of the Tribunal, but does this pairing with The Invisible Gate imply that since they are all one, Vehk's CHIM worked for all of them?

4. The Corners of House of Troubles. Four corners of the House of Troubles, easy.

5. The Corners of the World. I've heard 5 corners of the world before. Seems like it was a raga thing, but I'm not sure. Maybe it was earlier in the Sermons with Vehk and Nerevar traveling the world.

6. The Walking Ways. One of the Vehk-skills that was later attributed to raga teaching in Sword-Meeting?

7. The Sword at the Center. Sound like something from earlier in the Sermons, but I can't place it nor can I the number 7.

8. The Wheel, or the Eight Givers. Why make The Wheel and the Aedra interchangeable? 8 Refers to the Spokes but not the entire wheel.

9. The Missing. The only missing thing I can think of in TES is Lorkhan, so does 9 refer to the 9th, that is to say Lorkhan?

10. The Tribes of the Altmer. First I've heard of this. There are 10 tribes of Altmer? Is this a reference to anything preexisting?

11. The Number of the Master. I can't link this to anything. The number 11 also doesn't ring any bells. First time I've heard of the Master as well. Someone should call the Doctor.

12. The Heavens. Aetherius? Although my first thought was the Constellations being 13-1 (The Serpent).

13. The Serpent. "Who's number is 13" From the Lie Rock Sermon. Sheogorath then.

14. The King's Cough. No clue with this one. It reminds me of Tiber losing his Voice though.

15. The Redeeming Force. Redemption isn't something I've really seen in TES, so this one all but stumps me.

16. The Acceptable Blasphemes. From the 1stPGE. Easy.

17. The Hurling Disk. 18-1= 17 (The Hurling Disc). I've still yet to read the actual piece. I think I'm scared of it to be honest.

18. The Egg, or Six Times the Wise. Goes back to 3: The Invisible Gate, The ALMSIVI. 6*3(ALMSIVI)=18. Although I don't know what 18 amounts to. Seems incredibly familiar. The Egg also has me wondering. Is it a reference to the Aurbis?

19. The Provisional House. Vehk's creation kit. Not sure where 19 fits in.

20. The Lunar Lattice. Number of possible Lunar phases? I'm not good at math, MK, so don't hold it against me.

21. The Womb. Reminds me of the Netchiman's Wife Simulacrum. Can't place 21 though.

22. Unknown. This term describes my understanding of it. One of the terms I'm very interested in. Does this describe the space outside the Wheel?

23. The Hollow Prophet. Again, this feels reminiscent of something earlier in the Sermons. I don't want to think about 23.

24. The Star Wound. I knew what the Star Wound was at one point, but it appears that I forgot. Mundus? What then is 24?

25. The Emperor. Cyrodiilic Emperor, but I don't know what 25 refers to.

26. The Rogue Plane. Can't think of anything for this one or 26. Again seems like I've seen it before in the Sermons.

27. The Secret Fire. "I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you!" Okay I'll stop now. No idea what this one refers to.

28. The Drowned Lamp. This one really interests me. I love the imagery, and I'm sure I've heard you mention this before, but I can't remember anything.

29. The Captive Sage. Again, I've heard you talk about this, I've always confused it with Blind Witness.

30. The Scarab. Lorkhan, but not sure what 30 refers to.

31. The Listening Frame. Nerevar's anti-Thu'um device. 31 escapes me.

32. The False Call. In reference to The Anticipations? A false Anticipation? I know I've heard that somewhere before.

33. The Anticipations. The Good Daedra. Don't know how 33 connects to it.

34. The Lawless Grammar. Seems like something else from the other Sermons, but I can't place it.

35. The Prison-Shirt. I love this one. It's just mysterious enough to create some good magic. I'd love to know more about this.

36. The Hours. Vehk's book. Don't know how 36 factors in.

11 being the number of the masters is a reference to an earlier Sermon about Sithical relationships (Shez/Aka, Sheo/Jyg) if I recall correctly. Here's the exact quote from Sermon eleven:

Quote:

Hortator and Sharmat, one and one, eleven, an inelegant number. Which of the ones is the more important? Could you ever tell if they switched places? I can and that is why you will need me.

Okay, this sin't any question stuff, but as for the anti-Imperialism, what about the Aeneid by Virgil? Trojans leave their country, go to Italy, and say "we gotta build some houses" and, when you get right down to it, "get out of our way?"

I'm simplifying way too much and haven't read that since my last year in high school, so I may be wrong, but I think I may have hit on it.

Vivec thinks one plus one is eleven? Man, never knew he had dyscalculia. How did he put that secret number message in it then? Did he have Sotha help?

In Tamriel, 1 is sort of like the algerbraic variable x, any number can be assigned to represent it.

That's how I view it. Either that, or Vivec just likes being a douchebag and leaving logic bombs in his books in case robots read them.

Reminds me of Nicolaus Cusanus: in the end, everything is one. 1+1+1+...+1=1.

My enjoyment of these interviews was increased immensely when the word timey-wimey was used at the most appropriate point I've ever seen for it.

Yes. Read the quote in context and you'll see how it has nothing to do with addition.

We tried to answer, we really did. But then sangria got involved and we found ourselves arguing about the Convention, and you bet your ass that don't end well.

Makes for the best cover photo ever, and Kurt looks so darn happy holding that gun to MK's head.

Eh, that's cool. It's not like Skype un-invented itself while we weren't looking :D

Everything in that picture makes sense except the helmet. But the helmet is awesome so I'm sure we'll integrate it into the visual narrative so seamlessly that to learn it is not in fact normal will shake even the people who were there. Where have we seen that before?

Looks like a pretty faithful reenactment of Cyrodiil's war with Morrowind. Tiber Septim points the gun at Vivec, and Vivec responds by pointing the gun at You.

Apparently, visitors have to kiss it.

It occurs to me that I should have posted this here, not in General.

Point proven. If it's cool enough, we'll make it make sense.

Not as far as I know. I think that's just a blip in how facebook displays things.

I can't help but laugh my ass off when I see that picture.  It gives me flashbacks to developing the "Highlander Game Mode" for foosball with a friend while we drank and had sword fights (complete with cardboard box armor and trashcan lid shields) in his yard last spring.

Heh. It's one big chaos, but also completely mecanical.

I like the poetry they're reading in between. Something for "Stories from the post apocalyps".

Owh that and it looks like a bloody fun party.
