Hey there Imperial Library uh.... people? So as my way of contributing something to the Lore community and hopefully adding some new info, I am undertaking the task of writing down all those random NPC conversations you hear and usually ignore, and then posting them in this thread for all to read and use.
Why do i do this you might ask? Well simply put- i feel that a lot can be learned from these NPC conversations, be it a race's view of another, things about each culture, how some of Tamriel works as a society etc, and a lot of this knowledge is neglected or ignored.
To start off with i'll be going through Auridon, and working through each zone from there. Wish me luck!
Sounds like quite the undertaking. Good luck!
I can share some dialogue with you, since I've been making screenshots for the English TES wikia. But yeah, I still haven't got enough and some dialogue got changed.
For the other games we usually get them from the game files. You may want to do that instead.
But I think doing this in case of TESO is not possible. It's a MMORPG.
I honestly dont know how to find that dialogue in the game files.
Neither do I. Dont have the game. Might be worth asking on various forums though.
It's not possible in case of TESO, as I said. English wikia cannot get the info just like that, they rely on players taking screenshots and gathering info.
It's very possible. How do y'all think we get the books to put up on TIL, sometimes months (if not more, in the case of Murkmire) before they're released?
Here's a link to the file I pulled down yesterday. Caution - it's big. It works best in Excel.
Hi,
I'm wondering what happened to this project? I used to play ESO but stopped because of the time commitment involved but I likewise have thought of screenshoting the npc dialogue.
Thinking perhaps of heading back to ESO next year, if I can get work commitments, amongst others under control a bit more.
As far as I'm aware, this never took off.
Your best bet for helping to document NPC dialog (or read existing dialog) is to head over to UESP. They've got a lot of it already, and contributing is super easy. Do note that it all has to be transcribed rather than just screenshotted, as screenshots aren't a good format for documentation.
