A word from Loranna:[1]
QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 9 2006, 05:44 PM)
[2] Hello everyone,
I'm starting this RP off with an announcement before the rules.
This new chapter of the RP, I predict, will be a short one, focusing solely on
the conflict which we have set up over the past few months. We will see
how well the heroes of Ald Raathim fare against the ever-encroaching death that
awaits in the west.
This will also be the
last RP chapter for our role play during the time period between Morrowind and
Oblivion; after War of the Wormgod has
finished, there will be a reflections and epilogue thread to tie up any loose
ends and to set the scene for our characters in the final days before the
events of Oblivion, and then the RP will take a haitus for a month or two,
while we all play the new game till the wheels fall off.
Since we are entering the grand finale of our pre-Oblivion RP campaign, I am
hereby stating that we
are not accepting any new players until after we start up again post Oblivion. We apologize for this
arbitrariness, but it's not a good idea trying to shoehorn new faces into the
plot when you're playing out the last battle. Everyone will be welcome
once we start up again.
Loranna
[4]
Hello, and welcome to our Elder
Scrolls Role Playing threads, where we adventure and socialize in the vibrant
land of Tamriel.
Before we begin, we'd like to clarify a few things:
Loranna's Roleplay, while an open roleplay where everyone is invited to
join, is not a limitless or unregulated game. There are rules we have set
ourselves that make roleplaying easier and more enjoyable for everyone of us.
Please take the time and read the following guidelines carefully and, more
importantly, act according to them.
1. Have fun!
2. Fun does not mean you can do whatever you want, though.
Let us please clarify some points. While everyone is welcome to join in, they
are NOT welcome to jump in and do big, world-changing things without DISCUSSING
IT FIRST. Let's be very clear about what cannot be done without permission:
Affecting other characters:
Any action that effects another person's character, for ill or good. Although
most people realize they can't harm another person's character without
permission, many don't realize that you can't HELP another character without
permission, either. Many characters have flaws for a reason. Don't go healing,
saving, or otherwise fixing another character without DISCUSSING IT FIRST with
the player involved.
Major Events:
Any event that would drastically change things that have been done to the
world, whether the change is physical (rebuilding destroyed locations),
political(converting a population to a new cause), military (killing off all
the badguys) or anything else. Almost every situation, good or bad, that exists
in the RP was done for some reason. Don't go changing or fixing things without
DISCUSSING IT FIRST with the group.
For the purpose of coordinating this RP, backstage fun and discussing current
and future events, we have established a chatroom on chatspike.net, chatroom
#Loranna_RP. We strongly recommend that you have a glimpse in there, since it
is the easiest and most convenient way to discuss characters and settings,
explain rules, plan and give you the background information you need to play in
this RP. If you cannot get on the channel for some reason, or if the player
whose character you would affect with your plan is not there, then PM them
using this board's PM function. That's what it's there for.
If you do not have MIRC, you can http://www.chatspike.net/?p=javairc. Enter in
a nickname where prompted and hit Submit. You'll be asked if you want to trust
the signed applet. Hit Yes, and you'll be in the main chatspike channel. From
there, type /join #Loranna_RP You'll enter our chat channel and we can talk to
you.
Here are various other rules, tips and information you should take time
to read before joining this RP:
1. Background History:
Loranna's RP has accumulated a rich background history. Of course, no-one can
know all that has happened in this RP, but it is important that you have at
least an idea about the major events that took place during the last
one-and-a-half years. There are a few posts of Loranna that explain the history
of the RP from her character's viewpoint and a summary of the events in the RP
is in progress, you can find them
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~rhod0091/lrp/temp.html. Another summary is available as
text file from Nalion, please ask via our chatspike channel or per PM to Nalion
for the time being. We are working on a more permanent solution to provide this
information.
The chatroom #Loranna_RP on chatspike is probably the best and fastest way to
get yourself informed about the RP, just ask the moderators and long-time
players there if you need any information. They will gladly help you. It is
also very advisable to read up on the most recent posts and threads to become a
grasp of what is happening right now in the RP. This will significantly help
you in finding a way to join the action and will reduce the probabiliy of
mistakes.
2. Reading and catching up on the RP:
We're a dedicated lot of players, and we love this RP. This means we put a lot
of effort in our posts, do a lot of planning and discussing to create our
plotlines. This requires time and dedication. And we require this of you as
well. This means, take your time to read the posts of the other players and
take the time to catch up on the plot if it progressed while you were away.
This simplifies your rejoin into the action. It is also a sign of respect to
the other players. If you don't have the time to read their posts, why should
they bother with yours, then?
Again, please let me repeat this, for it is very important. If you are not able
or willing to put time and at least reasonable effort in this RP, think again
whether you want to join this RP or not.
3. Gathering information
Gather information about the RP, be it asking in chat, by reading older posts
and getting up to date on the history or by asking via PM. No-one can know
everything, sure, but everyone can ask about what happened. We're glad to
assist! Again, this can not be done without some interest in the ongoings in
the RP, effort and a good bit of dedication.
4. Roleplaying
Roleplaying doesn't just involve making your character say something
(in-character chat). It also has a descriptive element. Motions and emotions of
your character, worries, joys, mimics, movements... we want to see them!
Describe how your character acts, this gives you a better grasp of your
character and will help your fellow players build up a relationship to your
character. It's not only action and big fights we have here in this RP, there
is a major social aspect to it as well.
5. Posting
Try to take your time to post. Yes, we are aware that there are hectic scenes,
like in big combats, where some things move faster, but is it in general a good
idea to look over your post again to check it. Yes, we know it sounds stupid
and obvious, but please care about spelling, punctuation and grammar. They are
not just things you learned in school once to forget afterwards. We are no
decryption experts. Those grammar rules have their meaning, and there are tools
out there to help you(word spell checker for example). Again, the chat is a
perfect way to ask for
time and coordinate with other players if you have problems.
6. Character control / multiple characters
Once more, about controlling characters that belong to other players: You
cannot control a character that is not your own (with a few exceptions, like
having talked to the player of the character beforehand). This means most of
the time the following:
* In combat, you can only try to attack another character, but whether
you hit him or how much damage is inflicted is up to the player of the
character, and only him/her.
* This applies to healing or helping the character as well; feel free to try
and offer help to a character, but let the other player describe the effects of
the healing/helping.
* Especially in combat, you have to work closely with the other players, the
chatroom is the best and easiest method to discuss these things.
Another thing related to this topic is referring or speaking to other
characters whose players are not online. If possible, try to avoid involving
characters when their player is not present. It ties down your character while
waiting for the other player to come back, and you don't know whether the
respective player has other plans when he is back.
Additionally, avoid generating scenes where you involve a character, affect him
with an action and finish the action before the player can react (stealing,
attacking, casting spells or similar actions). Example: No running up to
someone, rob him and run away to safety all in one post. This is a no go.
Controlling multiple characters. We have no written limits on how many
characters you may control; the limit is you. In general, it is very advisable
that you stick to one character when you are new to RPing. When creating a
character, it is VERY important that you consider your character carefully.
Again, this has something to do with effort and dedication. It is generally a
bad sign if you join up, post a couple of posts and then say you are bored with
this character and make a new one. Other players might get annoyed greeting and
introducing their characters to a new character when it is obvious that this
character will not last long because the player gets bored with the new
character. This RP is a social RP as well, and it is very difficult to
socialize with a character that is badly played, where you can see by the style
of writing that the player is already bored with the character and will throw
him away at the next opportunity. RPing is all about characters and your
character is your "representative" in this RP, your voice, your arm,
your mind. Please take this into account when creating and playing your
character.
As a general rule of thumb, use only one character until you feel comfortable
with him, can control him, have fun with him and the character is established
in the RP. The rest will run automatically after a while when you get more
confident and experienced in RPing.
7. Secret plans
Secret plans and surprises are seldom fun for anyone else. Before they're
revealed they're boring, because nobody knows about them, and afterwards
they're just annoying, because nobody knew about them. Examples: Your character
suddenly remembers that he has a castles all over Tamriel and calls in troops
to help. Or: Your character suddenly reveals he is a spy of the Emperor and
knows everything.
8. Ingame consequences of character actions:
Morrowind the game was rather lenient when it came to direct consequences after
a character's action. This is not the case in our RP. There are laws and local
customs, and there are guards and other authorities that are there to enforce
them. So, starting tavern brawls, stealing, murdering, open assault and all
other related actions are very likely to be persecuted and punished (this can
go up from your character ending up in jail, being banished or to be executed).
This doesn't mean that there are no murders or thefts in the RP, but it does
mean that if you do that, be aware of the consequences your character will have
to deal with.
9. Additional helpful information:
Please make sure that you read the following post of Allerleirauh
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=2871855,
dealing with some of the above mentioned rules, as well as the hints on
character generation done by Loranna
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141737&view=findpost&p=3828224.
Please take the above mentioned rules and information into careful
consideration, they will help you in joining this RP quickly and are useful to
avoid problems. And more importantly: act according to them!
** Not following the above advice will only result in two things: your
post is likely to be completely ignored by everyone else as if it did not
happen and/or you are asked to leave the RP. This is obviously not good for
anyone, so please, discuss major events before doing them and act according to
the rules mentioned above. **
Thank you, and have fun!

Summary for Goranthir: The poor Prince of Firsthold has had a hell of a
time of it. His soul is finally free, but at a terrible price: the death of
Taolle, the ancient Bosmer who raised him.
Summary for Red-Rock-Shadow, the Argonian battlemage is free of the
control of Geht, and is with the others in the cavern in the Dragontail
Mountains.
[5]
Meanwhile
The battle preparations continue on three fronts.
The Royal Palace, Sentinel
More soldiers and troops were arriving hourly, and being sent off to one of the
two different camps to join the troops already in position to the west and east
of the Dragontail Mountains.
Kalaan, Tigonus, Hammerfell
The soldiers marching along the coast had finally reached the dusty fortress in
Kalaan, just west of the mountains, on a lonely stretch of beach. The officers
of the various factions examined maps and made plans under the command of
Laretha Warhaft. The soldiers readied their weapons, preparing to launch into
action the moment the order was given. They had only to wait for the death aura
to be dissipated.
Ramakawan, Kozanet, Hammerfell
King Lhotun’s hidden jungle fortress faced the Bazidir Valley, a wide pass
through the mountains. Red-Rock-Shadow’s Mark was set to that region, so the
plan was upon her appearing there and giving the signal that the defenses were
down, the commanding officer Digitus Ero would send word to Warhaft, and
together the armies would push together. [6]
*...Summary: Osa is weepily watching the unfolding seen in the Dragontail Mountains, as a very concerned Ora stares down the hallway the group just passed through, having seen the Undead Dragon stomping off down it, although under Anya's control [7]
Summary: Anya doesn't want to give up the Masque of Clavicus Vile, now.[8]
QUOTE(Sheogorath @ Mar 10 2006, 12:23 AM)
[9] The look of despair in Goranthir's eyes were
replaced by calmness, strength, anger, gratitude, a thousand other different
emotions, but sadness still remained. There were some things the Masque
apparently could not do.
He stood up. "She was not the only one who risked her life to save
me. On my soul which is mine again, I will not let her down, or any of
you down."
[11]
Anya smiled, and hugged Goranthir tightly, a few tears escaping, "Oh thank
the Nine your back! I know I can't ever say anything that would soothe Taolle's
death, but please remember she did it for you."
Anya let go of Goranthir, and reached for Taolle's body, picking her up as easy
as P'Rassha could with her supernatural strength. "I wish you could have a
time to grieve, but unfortunately now is not it..." [12]

"I know," Goranthir nodded, shivering a little. Two words, but they
were not said flippantly. There could be no doubt from his eyes he understood
what Taolle had done and why. "You might ... have to explain some things
to me about what's happening. My mind is not exactly right right now."

Anya kept her lips pursed throughout, until Goranthir finished. "Almalexia
was indeed a vampire, Slyvos' own daughter no less. I am the same as her
now..."
"Anyway... From what I've gathered, as I've never seen your sister, she is
safe. Rinalla left with your mother when she renounced her queenship. I have
the dragon outside, gaurding the entrance. I can't tell you exactly what you've
done. I haven't seen you since we left on the dragon, others can tell you more
about those particular events."
"Speaking of which, we have your sword and ring, much more fitting for you
than the one you carry now. Why is it Mannimarco has you gaurding this
stone?" [32]
Summary for the

that is to follow
Faryon's Armies arrived at Bodrum in a low key event, where the councillor

"Morgiah renounced the throne," Goranthir's eyes went wide. He
distinctly did not call her mother. "That must be why ... no matter
... Mannimarco has powerful undead servitors guarding all the Blightstones from
here to Scourg Barrow. He wanted to use Baelthon to guard this one, but as
powerful as he is, he is still curiously willful. He is capable of shrugging of
his orders like no other undead creation of the King's. So I had to stay here
for the time being to make sure he did his job, at least until Mannimarco could
create a new, more obedient minion."

"I think it's partly why. Nalion and the others were looking into a way to
break the contract. As for Baelthon, I have him waiting for us outside. I did
notice he seemed to comply more than obey, strong-willed creatures they are. So
the rest of the stones won't be easy... dammit."

As they both told him what they needed him to do, dig a huge hole, deep enough
that no undead creature could get into it and disturb Taolle's resting spot, it
was very obvious that it was Anya that Baelthon was listening to and not
Goranthir.
"As you wish, my lady," the
dragon replied, and before long several tons of solid rock had been torn away
in the cavern.
"I will return here later with flowers, when there are flowers,"
Goranthir said quietly as the grave was filled in and packed tight.[78]

Anya had Baelthon resume his rest, or vigil, whichever he chose to do. She
watched as Goranthir studied the grave, "I'm sure she would love that,
Goran. We'll be back. Take your time, though, we can handle the next few steps
and let you have a moment to yourself."
Anya turned to Baelthon, her thoughts drifting to the blightstone. She went
after Slyvos, since he seemed to understand these stones, to see about
destroying it, leaving Goranthir to his thoughts.

Summary for Loranna:
Loranna is in Sentinel, having helped with the organization of the army meant
to confront the God of Worms, and having had a heartfelt talk with the Queen
Mother Brenziah, in which she openly spoke of th bond she felt with Barenziah
and her family. Loranna retired to bed soon after that talk, trying to gain
some rest, though her dreams were plagued with visions of vampires and ghouls
and blackened, dying earth, and of her friends and husband and Goranthir beset
from all sides.
Gram is in the cavern where Mannimarco hid the first of the Blightstones,
guarded by the willful undead dragon Baelthon and by Geht. Forced by Geht's
power to do battle with his friend P'Rassha, Gram is counting himself lucky to
have pulled off a draw, and since Taolle died, he has remained quiet, letting
those closer to Goranthir than he speak to the young, wounded King.
And elsewhere ... others answer the call for warriors to face Mannimarco and
his undead hordes. Others who haven't been heard from in some time.[84]
ooc: Isidor, Ingmar,
and Tsei are all with the group, after saving Goranthir.
Ingmar gave the Kynarine Sword and ring to Isidor, who gave them to Goranthir,
saying, "Here you go, Goran ... Glad to have you back." [85]
Summary
Nalion
Nalion is with the group that set out to find Goranthir and destroy the
blightstones. When finally meeting Goranthir/Geht and the bone dragon, Nalion
faced the full dominating power of Geht and under his spell, attacked his
companions. As Taolle finally broke Mannimarco's spell, Nalion was freed from
Geht's domination and returned to his original self.
He is now with the group, comforting Goranthir and planning the next steps.
Dana and Gistral
Dana and Gistral had volunteered to join up with the armies that were to
assault Mannimarco's holdings after the blightstones were destroyed. [86]
Summary: Shaka, a
Redguard battlemage formerly Argonian, is with the vanguard of heroes who have
helped Nirn release Goranthir from the King of Worms' chains.
Shaka kept quiet as he and the rest of the group gave Goranthir some time with
the remains of his beloved nurse, the Bosmer Toalle.
The battlemage was proud to see how well Anya had handled the situation. She's
come a long way from the Rogue, the "tavern angel", that we found in
Gnaar Mok, he thought. It seemed like a lifetime ago now.
Almost the whole group had dissolved into chaos, fighting each other under
Goranthir's control, he reflected. It was the grace of the gods that they had
saved Goran now, still in his teens and not at the height of his powers. Mannimarco
and his pawn would have been unstoppable, he thought with a chill. [87]

"Thank you, Isidor," Goranthir smiled, putting on the ring and testing
his grip on the sword. It had been a long time since he had use the Kynarine
Blade, but it felt right. "And thank you for being here. How is it in Ald
Raathim now? There were those fabricants in Ald Sotha a while back ... Did the
Redoran ever use them?"
While Goranthir talked with the others he knew, Red-Rock-Shadow stood apart,
and examined the now guardless Blightstone.[92]
Ora and Osa are still shaking off the last of the Masques effects as they stare towards the infernal Blightstone. Though Goranthir has been freed, the sisters cant help but be wary. Osa reaches once more into her Bag, bringing out 2 more Potion Bottles before handing one to Ora. The sisters in unison drink both Bottles down, Osa stopping afterwards to sip from her now half-empty Flask [93]

Hesek considered for a moment. He wanted to choose his words carefuly so as not
to alarm Chalovk. But she was intelligent, so she would be able to handle it
better than some.
He continued speeking in Hist, "Anya is a good friend of Loranna and a

became one herself. She is different though. She controls her feeding urges and
continues to fight on our side. She was important in the defense of the city of

The huge Khajiit was still troubled by his last actions. His mind was

Since P'Rassha did't know Goranthir really well, he stood a little bit further,
making sure nothing else threatens the party. [190]

Gram Pyrel had been giving Goranthir and his friends chance to catch up, while
quietly looking over the newly dug grave of Taolle.
" ... Though we knew each other only a short while, and you could not
fight the monsters we fought, you were as brave a person as any I have

Mother Nirn, but Kyne's breath was in you, and your sacrifice will always be
remembered, as will your company, brief as it was. Rest well good Mother, and
we will fight by your son's side."
Now, he walks back to the group, overhearing Goranthir's last comment.
"How many of these stones are we talking about?" he asks, wondering

the Hist sap in him would gradually restore his color, once the death field was

The new morning had found Loranna again helping with the organizing of the
army, though given her advanced pregnancy and the lingering fatigue from
preparing the elixers, she could only keep on her feet for so long. Still, even
when resting, she kept herself gainfully occupied, speaking with the nobles of
King Lhotun's court and with dignitaries from the various factions of Tamriel
that were sending troops for the allied army - though she made a point of
avoiding the Indoril faction for peace of mind.

Dibella ... Loranna thought to herself when she saw the pain and

At Reman's exclamation, Loranna turned, her face showing surprise.

That, was of course, the more mellow of the reactions to come out of peoples

pulled together with larger boulders towards the remnants of the Blightstone,

“Let’s hurry now,” Goranthir said. “We have to get to the next gems before
Mannimarco has a chance to react.”
“Where is the next closest one?” Red-Rock-Shadow asked, pulling herself up off
the ground.
“The Lemdazi Valley,” Goranthir said, heading back towards the left tunnel.
“I’ll show you the shortcut.”

"I think Anya had him well under control, he should pose no threat to us
right now.", Nalion said, looking over his shoulder to where it was.
The mage waved his hand and a ball of blue light appeared over his palm,
illuminating the tunnel with faint light, that would enable them to see better
in the darkness, but still not shine too brightly to be seen from far away. [435]

The tunnels were comfortably wide, as no doubt Baelthon had contructed it and
used it to navigate. Without Goranthir as a guide, the group would have gotten
lost as they took several turns through the labyrinth, going progressively
lower and lower.
Some hours passed before Goranthir said. "We're almost there."

Nalion had followed Goranthir carefully, occasionally peeking into other dark
tunnels leading elsewhere. The mage was worried about whatever might creeps
through this tunnels aside from themselves.
"These caverns are huge...", he said in a low voice.
Nalion listened carefully for voices and with a wave of his hand, the blue ball
of light vanished.
"No point in giving us away to whatever might guard this

The Lemdazi Valley
Gram, again in the lead, is one of the first to feel the wind against his face
as the party exits the tunnels into a deep valley, filled with the debries of
the crumbling mountainsides and the crushed remnants of whatever undead beasts
had been unfortunate enough to be caught under the falling rocks.
A strong, putrid smell assaults the party's collective noses, causing Gram to
scowl viscously. "Pah; it smells worse than a troll's turd," he says,
covering his face. "What could be ... oh; that would be it."
Gram points to the river which cuts its way through the valley, the water
therin - if it can still be called that - being black, viscuous, and almost
pulsating, as though it were zombified flesh made liquid and soaked in the
foulest bile.
"Is it just my imagination, or are the riverbanks ... rotting?" Gram
asks, amazed that rock could rot. He looks to Goranthir and Slyvos. "So,
where's the next Blightstone? Did the Wormgod bury it in the river bed, to make
... this?" [450]

Slyvos looked at the river with a look of digust on his face, taking a good
look at the horrid looking and smelling water that made up the stream. "I
highly doubt there would be a river here if he put the stone in it." he
says with aggravation in his voice.
I would ask who would do this kind of thing, but I probably would have done

"Stone can whither, through wind and water... but this is different. As if
the stone slowly dissolves...", Nalion said, covering his mouth and nose
with a piece of cloth to hold off at least a bit of the stench. The mage looked
at the water in disgust.
"This is an abomination."
Nalion looked around, trying to feel where the blightstone would be, and
casting a magical detection spell. [460]
Ramakawan:
A courier from Sentinel appeared in the hidden jungle fortress, recalling to
the Mark he had set there, conveying the news.
“We don’t necessarily know where the dragon is going to strike, only that at

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Samson, Harg. I'm Dana.", Dana
said after rubbing her ears which were half deaf from Harg's shout. "I
think we can do without the messenger. That shout should have done the
job."
At the last sentence, her voice sounded decidedly snappish. However, she
grinned.
"I'm a healer, mostly, that is.", Dana said to Samson. "I am
more used to fix people up than cut them to pieces. That doesn't mean I am
unable to fight though. If you need help, you know where to find it. I'll try
to keep you alive. For that free drink."
She blinked. Taking this little chat before the battle eased her tension a bit.
[584]
Samson grins, as Harg points to the arriving army. "Aha! The Fist of
Harg's voice has summoned mighty warriors to lend us their aid this day,"
he says, looking incredibly pleased with himself. "Fortunately, they have
the Fist of Harg today to show them real fighting!"
"No throwing random soldiers at the dragon Harg," Samson says out of
the side of his mouth.
"That was just an anti-Azurite tactic, not to be used against a foe like a
dragon," Harg counters.
Shaking his head, Samson touches Dana's shoulder. "Good luck; when this
guy here needs fixing up I'll drag him over to you," he promises, before
people take their positions to meet the enemy.[585]

[587] Gistral turned on the
spot towards the lookout.
"Turodon?", he asked hastily. "Through the swamps? Hmm... How
fast can we get a larger group of mages down there...? Would it be possible to
try and tease and anger this.. thing.. with magickal attacks so that he focuses
on the mages? Then, we could lure it to us and fight it there?"
[589]
"That's what I was thinking too," Digitus Eros nodded, and readied
the troops to intercept the dragon in the swamps before it reached Turodon.[590]
Shaka used the amulet to levitate over the river, then waited for those still crossing. He had a feathering spell prepared in case the rocks proved unable to hold up the adventurers' weight.[591]
Though the Levitation is of a slower nature, both sisters reach the other bank, awaiting the rest of the party...the smell this close up is nearly overwhelming for Osa, but she somehow manages to contain whatever food happens to be in her system [592]

Dana shook her head at the two warriors, grinning.
"Uh.. throwing random soldiers?", she asked in disbelief.
"You're either good enough warriors, or have more luck than anyone. If
this ends, then we'll have a drink together and you tell me that story in

Dana turned after her words, preparing her spells to fight the dragon and
checking her potions. "May the blessings of the Nine be upon us. FOR

cast dispel and detection charms into the air to spot the invisible approaching

Slyvos levitated himself in the direction the others were going, making sure to
time the spell just right so that when it wore off he was over solid ground
again. Useful, it was, to have spells in such wide quantity and powerful
quality.
"the sooner we destroy that wretch of a necromancer that is the reason for
us being here, the better, Gram." Slyvos says with an obvious desire to
get this over with and have Mannimarco's head spilling into his voice. [643]
Shaka covered his
mouth up to his nose with a cloth, tying it. The stench of this gorge was
sickening; he couldn't imagine what it was like for the Betmer among the heroes.
For once, Shaka was glad he no longer had their exceptional sense of smell.
"Can he even be destroyed, Slyvos? Is he at the level of a lich, or a god,

Slashes-With-Claws looks at the dark cave entrance. He flexes his fingers around the handle of the sword. "I am ready for whatever we find." He says. Spells of reflection and shield ready in his mind to cast at a moments notice. The stench was almost unbearable to his highly acute sense of smell. [645]

The closer Osa and Ora get to the Blightstones location, the worse Ora's

Meanwhile Osa is doing her best not to get sick by the ever-increasing fumes

Slashes, seeing Shaka
healed tries the same, touching the holy sword to his foot, which currently
looks like leather. His arm shakes with pain as he brings the sword down to his
foot. The effect is quick, the olive and blue color returns. Sharp stones from
the ceiling cut the end of his shout and left elbow.
He scrambles to his feet casting a shield spell to deflect some of the falling
rocks. "We need to get out of here until the rocks stop falling!" He
shouts, blood dripping off his snout. He begins to make his way back to the

With an audible crunch he set the bone back in place. He managed to contain a scream of pain, letting it out as a hiss. He cast a healing spell on his shoulder and put the pauldron back on. [863]
[864] QUOTE(Loranna @ Mar 11 2006, 11:46 PM)
[865] The scamp looks at
Nalion as though he is crazy, and promptly ducks under Gram's legs to avoid
getting crushed by a rock - which prompts Gram to pick the Daedra up bodily and
pitch it into the water, yelling "Don't just stand there you long-eared
fool, go earn your pay!"
The scapm gives a piteous wailing sound as it sails into the water, just in
time to splash silvery elixer into the monster's face, causing the flesh to
heal and then fall off totally. The blackened skull starts falling apart
and in the brain pan a dark, pulsing light can be seen ...
Tsei's spell protects people - for now. The roof is beginning to crack,
however ...
"Everyone!" Gram yells, pointing to the thrashing chelonian.
"Blast its brains out, and let's get out of this hellhole!"
The scamp, meanwhile, begins beating on the chelonian's leg.
Surprisingly, it doesn't die immediately.
[867]
Slyvos chuckles, letting the magical flames engulf his hands once more as he
prepared to take a shot at the nearly defeated beast. He stretched his arms
outward and blasted the creature with a God's Fire spell, hopeing that the
powerful blast would finish the abomination off.
If that didn't do the trick, the holy energies in that pool of water certainly
would help it along. Now, to avoid the implosion from that gem, he
figured, taking nalion's advice almost immediately afterwards. [868]
As Gram is helping the
last of the heroes out of the cavern, he can hear the cracking noises and a low
groan, that signify the imminent destruction of the Blightstone. He just clears
the cavern entrence as the implosion sucks debries back into the center of the
cavern, and gets knocked backwards by the suction.
Then, when he and the others find their feet, it is time to rest and heal up,
and deal with any lingering effects of the corrupted water on anyone. Gram
shakes his head, muttering "No wonder that beastie was so stupid - it had
nothing but a raging vacumm for brains!" He gives Nalion a soot-faced
grin.[869]

Nalion, out of breath, leaned on his staff.
"It was enough to cause us serious troubles...but, well, it's not always
safe to say 'I have my secrets safely stored here...'.", the mage said and
tipped at his temple, grinning at his friend.
Then, he looked around to see if someone was still hurt and offer help. [874]

Shaka took his helm off and healed his own broken ribs; soon he could breathe
normally again. "Thanks for the save, everyone," he said with
gratitude. "Gram, Slashes, I'm glad you survived that liquid poison too .
. . ."
He flexed his left hand; looked as if he would recover the use of his arm.
"On to Mount Dakobo next?" [879]
Isidor's head had been healed and Tsei and Ingmar had gotten out relatively unharmed, so the trio now sat with the rest of the group, waiting to move on. [880]

Red-Rock-Shadow pulled a restore magicka potion from her robe and drank it,
having drained most of her reserves casting healing spells at the chelonian,
and shield spells to protect the group from falling rock. She offered the
potions to the other mages. “Anyone else near the end of their reserves?”
Goranthir nodded to Shaka. “On to Mount Dakobo. We just follow the valley east
… And keep an eye out of zombies. They seem to like this area.”
The group began to make its march eastward through the blackened canyon.

Tsei accepted the potion from Red-Rock-Shadow, and mentally sized up the new
Argonian woman.
She was still somewhat undecided on her feelings about her feelings for Slashes
with Claws, but couldn't help but feel a little jealous at Red-Rock-Shadow. [890]
[891] QUOTE(Nalion @ Mar 11 2006, 11:59 PM)
[892] Kalaan:
Dana had looked over the land towards the direction of Ephesus from one of the
fortresses' towers. She wondered where her companions might be now,and how they
fared...
As she perceived the two dark shapes, she cried out in surprise.
"Dragons!", she shouted and pointed. "Alarm! Dragons!"
[894]
At the expected alarm, Vaan readied himself for the inevitable battle to come.
He gathered up, in his mind, knowledge of any spells that would be effective versus
a flying lizard of death.
Of course, that only helped if you could see the aforementioned flying
lizard of death. [895]
The jungle outside Turodon:[896]

[897] Gistral nodded.
"I'll go with the troops. We'll go and lure him here. He rummaged through
a small leather bag on his belt and retrieved a scroll from it. He read the
inscription, then was engulfed a sparkling aura for a moment.
"Mark.", he said. "Just in case. Dana's good when thinking about
these magic things."
Then, the Redguard moved to join the soldiers and mages to intercept the
dragon.
[899]
A group of thirty mages, including Gistral, flew through the jungle on spells
of levitation. It was the fastest way to make progress through the dense
foliage, where the ground could be such a twisted maze of roots to be
unpassable except for a few feet above. The magical vanguard were an
odd-looking mix of sorcerors and nightblades, armor-clad battlemages and
eccentrically costumed hedge wizards, Redguards, Imperials, Dunmer, Altmer, and
Argonians.
It was not difficult to find their quarry: the closer they got towards the
dragon that was pushing its way east towards Turodon, the louder the sounds of
trees being felled became.
The spellcasters knew their duty. They must infuriate the creature enough that
it would chase them back to the fortress at Ramakawan …
No matter how brave the mages were, the thought of purposefully
infuriating a dragon was enough to give each and every one second thoughts.
Yet, still they readied their spells and prepared themselves …

[904]
Gistral heard the cracking and felling of trees with growing anxiety. The
warrior drew his bow and notched a silver arrow. He didn't expect the dragon to
be seriously wounded by that, but he hoped it would annoy him. Then, he nodded
to the mages around.
"Let's get this done..." [905]

The mages surrounding the periphery of the fortress continued to cast their
dispel and detection spells in all directions, and suddenly the cry went up.
"North! Attack to the north!"
The three hundred foot long skeletal dragon with eyes like burning coals rushed
across the sea towards the fortress, smoke pouring from its maw as it prepared
to attack ...
It knew it had been seen, but it also knew it would destroy this fortress like
its sister would destroy the kingdom of Sentinel ... [910]
As Gram marches east
through the valley to Mount Dakobo, and Loranna pensively joins with the
non-battlefield healers in Sentinel, and Samson and Harg stretch their muscles
in Kallan, I myself blow my horn and yell out that potent incantation ...
LOCK ON!!!
